It was one of their first walks together in the almost empty city. There were a few that were around now that they knew of. Victor, Zero, Willem, Figaro, Koda. All people that they knew and spent time with, even if Koda was a newer friend. It was kind of nice that they all knew one another. There might be others around that Delta just hadn’t thought to talk to them about too, of course. It wasn’t as if she or Frank really needed to tell them anything of what was going on. They had Frankie all secure in her stroller, wandering feet going through the streets as she thought of things to improve the sustainability of Feral. Her own ideas.

Like maybe she would see if the garden was still around near Sherwood. Marion’s old garden. The flowers were pretty, but not what she was thinking about. A vegetable garden. Now that, oddly, the city was a lot safer because there weren’t crazies like Declan around any longer, and she had a lot more faith in her own abilities again, she might pick it up as a hobby. Something to do, at least, other than helping her husband with the carousel whenever he felt up to it.

But thinking about a garden reminded her of Lothlorien, and she was just about to comment on something that Thomas had said while giving them the tour of their land, when something caught her entirely by surprise.

People in New Orleans were crazy. You had to be to keep on living on the site of an actual all out witching and voodoo war, even if it was years ago. Chip wasn’t the only one who kept things prepared. There’d been one of those ‘stockpilers’ who had been preparing for something like this for years. A gas mask to protect against the Horned King, that was safe enough. But the dancing - that had been dreadful. His feet had become stubs essentially, until he laid down on the floor and did a wiggling motion, a worm, eating bugs off of his floor until he was near dead. And then finally, he managed to wiggle his way up the stairs, having some degree of control at least to where he was going to go. Gas mask half off of his face now, hanging off to let the bugs in, he wiggle wiggle wiggled his way out of his barricaded house. He thought he was the sole survivor. Crawling on what was left of his hands, left of his knees. There was nothing left of his feet, scraped raw on his hardwood floor like an eraser against sandpaper.

Until he was seen.

All that Maddy saw was something moving out of the corner of her eye. She turned her head expecting to see one of the many stray dogs, or cats, or animals that were around feral, but this thing was too large in the dark, too odd, too jerky, that she acted without thinking, making a move to protect her and her family.

It was so quick. A barrier, the sheen hardly seen in time, rushed in around the figure, crushing it to death. The bubbly exterior of the bubble wasn’t even seen, but now it appeared like blood splatter around the remains of this man. Decimated. Turned into hamburger helper. The only real show that it had been a man was the broken gas mask and the scraps of fabric that had been left behind in the mush.

Maddy put her hand up to her chest to calm her own breathing. “It - startled me,” She said, and then tucked her hair behind her ear and removed the barrier from the man, the blood just falling back to the ground. She grimaced at what she saw because it was a real mess. She made sure to turn the stroller from it so that Frankie wouldn’t have to see, not that the infant would even understand what it was seeing.

Her first real murder. She’d given her permission freely to Delta and Frank to commit one on Bastien’s behalf, but this was up close, it was personal, and it was entirely her doing. And she felt - okay. Like that’s what he deserved for sneaking up on them in this place where they should definitely not be snuck up on.

And what did the new murderess say about what she had done? She turned her head from it and looked towards her husband, a frown on her face. “I suppose the stray dogs will clean it up - I hope he didn’t have any diseases that’ll make them sick.”

Had a thought about something;

I think it’s highly likely that Jazz’s middle name is related to Vlad in some way.

Consider; The most popular full name for Danny’s in the phandom is “Daniel James Fenton”. Often that middle name’s origin is connected as the first name of a late grandfather, parent or, if you’re me, an extremely close family friend (still alive) of both Maddie and Jack respectively.

Now, consider this sort of naming theme with Jazz? And knowing well that it was definitely Jack who got to pick Jasmine’s name. He would totally find a way to have Jazz’s middle name be a nod to Vlad in some way.

Whatever it be, it be either very obvious like “Jasmine Vladimira Fenton” or less wordy shorten it to “Jasmine Mira Fenton”.

But the connection to Vlad would still stand regardless of which one here (also imagine how much of a stab it be for Vlad to know he’s the godfather to the oldest daughter of them, who looks the most like Maddie, arguably)

Personally i love the idea it being love (here is the link of the author that got me clutched to it lol and also their college trio fic so good)

Because there is many types of love and it can be sweet or twisted.

And I like the idea as vlad gojng onto the twisted side if love.

His crush on maddie connect to his obsession of love where he becomes so obsessed with her, he becomes literal millionaire and successful by any means as his end goal is maddie to be with him

And so obsessed with his love of maddie he's willing to get rid of jack and hates him for being in the way of him getting with maddie

But it also opens the floor that his obsession of love can either get worse or healthier. That vlad can change his ways or he can become more twisted for his love.

And his obsession with wanting to get danny to be his son; hes obsessed with familial love. Though he's also a "obstacle" to maddie love so he's willing to fight him for it (tho never to far cos I honestly think he could kill danny pretty easily if he wanted).

And him fighting danny he show his way that he's the "better dad/mentor" to get Danny's love in his messed up way.

Danny Fenton has changling blood. It goes back generations to when the Nightengale witch/ghost hunting family crossed with the 'Faetons' (fae lands) eventually becoming the Fentons.

It's why he can change his apearance between 'human' and 'ghost'. It's why he didn't die all the way and why he's so powerful. It's part of why he was so hard to clone. It explains why he's so good at making deals/getting people to keep promises and finding loopholes to bad situations.

If you're the type of person who likes playing/messing with people's hair, then by all means go ahead. She has no problem with you combing your fingers through it while she chats about anything and everything (though don't be alarmed if you see a small mouse pop out of it at any point. That's just Earl Grey, he sleeps there occasionally lol)

A Father’s Day for Bastien.

Maddy will arrange a scavenger hunt for him. They’re always hiding Waldos, this just feels like the next step. She hid cards while he was sleeping in ‘six places in their home that they had made love’. Considering that still left a lot of places, it’s good that it wasn’t too big of a home.

Taped to her ‘exercise’ pole cause one time she was really feeling it which probably would have made him feel it) (6. Three are from her, her own signature inside of them, while three are from Frankie and have her little handprint on them, dipped in blue paint and then pressed onto the inside.

Because Maddy has enjoyed making photobooks, like the special Valentines Day one the year before, she’s going to make a special one of Frankie’s first six months with her Papa Bear as the gift for finding all of the cards. It’s going to start off with pictures comparing them - one of the very few baby pictures that she was able to find through going through every avenue on the internet that had to do with the Belleroses, and then a picture of their own little girl, showing how they did resemble each other. Frankie had his big eyes, the forehead slope. The rest of the pictures were of the two of them, only a fair few had her in them since there weren’t many times when there was someone else around to take photos of all three, but even those were focused on Bastien and the little girl that made him so damn happy.

Of course, he was going to be having his favorite throughout the day. His favorite foods, they could watch his favorite movie, they could go on a long walk together which also seemed to be his favorite thing to do. It’s a day totally about him.

Because of last years mixup, she’s also not just gonna be sending out texts. Two shirts - one in Thomas’s size and one that was one up from Flo’s to make room for breasts, are going to be sent to the Laveau pair. It was so up both of their alleys, matching shirts for the duo that was affectionately known as the ‘dads’ seemed perfect.

And of course since she got the Savanne girls some things, she’s got a gift coming for Chip. She thought of him the moment that she saw it, and had to get it, along with just a basic Happy Fathers Day card
