Bob Floyd is an absolute dream boy and he’s at his most hesitant and lovestruck in these two gorgeous stories. These give me the same like, sinking stomach-feeling I get when I stare at pictures of Lewis for too long — like just the tiniest bit of melancholy that makes the whole experience sweeter and more emotional. Does that make sense? It’s one of the highest compliments I can give. 

Covering the Classics ❤️‍🔥by @roosterforme — BOB AND ANNA! ANNA AND BOB! I COULD SCREAM ABOUT THESE TWO FOR HOURS! I love them, this is such a beautiful, heart wrenching, emotional roller coaster of a story about learning how to find yourself and your people after heartbreak and trauma. Anna is such an interesting, complicated character and Bob meets her at every turn with love and tenderness and the biggest open heart in the world. (And also the steamy scenes are BEYOND, like, damn, Bob, neither Anna nor I was ever gonna be able to resist you.)

I Heard Screaming ❤️‍🔥by @oncassette — Yes, it’s a classic fanfic trope — I heard noises and walked in on you enjoying some *private time* while thinking about me — but it’s a classic for a reason. I love it and I reread it all the time.

Ongoing Series - Thai

Laws of Attraction (Sat iQIYI) 8fin - Oh the DRAMA. Why does the insane ex (my true love) remind me of the cartel leader from Romancing the Stone? Even the sides got HEA! It was fucking great!!!!! Charn remains a bonkers spoiled evil murderous brat with a cruel smile beloved by his one true paladin. Also: post it love note trope! Been a long while my old friend. NO SINGING!!!!! I do love that wedding jacket frock coat cape thing Charn wore. 

In conclusion: This is a great gay suspense thriller with several solid couples, fun plot, killer characters, queer rep, and a happy ending. Charn may be my favorite lead character of 2023. However, this show is not entirely BL, more on the fringe, like Manner of Death. Add that to several "singing incidents" and pairs being a little weak in the chemistry arena, and this lands safely in 9/10 territory. It’s tons of fun tho: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. 

I Feel You Linger in the Air (Sat grey) ep 3 of 12 - This show is getting more and more lakorn each ep. Apparently the straights are having a class divide arranged marriage crisis. Who cares? Our boy is ALWAYS in trouble. Crazy that he has to save the people who betrayed him in a previous life - but I guess he chose revenge! That's unexpected.

Had to switch to grey and couldn’t find a working rip. It was frustrating and I wouldn’t have bothered except I like this show so much. Still, it means no screen caps because the rez is naff.

Dangerous Romance (Fri YT) ep 3 of 12 - Uh oh. Kang wants to save Sailom and be his hero. The fact that K’s Pa puts no pressure on him whatsoever, makes me wonder if K's Ma committed suicide or something? It’s definitely the opposite parental dynamic we normally see in BL. I have to say, the pacing is great in the show. And the acting is on point. It’s really great. 

Hidden Agenda (Sun YT) ep 8 of 12 - these two just kiss well. I mean not "rip your clothes off Taiwan-style," but sweet young boyfriends-esk. Joke wants to be claimed so bad. It’s great. I enjoyed this ep, unfortunately it looks like we have a manufactured angst drama drop in the next episode. Is this a 10 episode arc? I thought it was 12. It’s odd to have doom happening next episode already.

Only Friends (Sat YT) ep 4 of 10 - Back story time! Ray and Mew are HARD to watch. Incestuous friend group gay is the worst. Omg I got such QAF vibes from this ep. Nick Boston Sand chats = very throw back 90s gay soaps. 

Location game moment: Top's hotel room is also Chan’s apartment in Laws Of Attraction. 

Naughty Babe (Sat YT) ep 1 of 8 - Ooo. Est is back! Hi handsome. Head of security suits you. Please lead out the new Waterboyy remake? You’re perfect for the role. (If it must happen.) Yi’s Pa is GREAT. Please give daddy a nice boy? Could that be our secondary couple for this series? 

Meanwhile, with the leads (sorry I was distracted by daddy) we got us an arranged marriage, run away bride, and an amnesia trope. Put in a secret baby and it's squarely 1980's Harlequin. Will there be Vikings? Sex herbs? Pirates? Dub con?

Be Mine Super Star (Mon Viki) ep 9 of 12 - Again with lovely sex scenes, it’s just the plot stringing them together is frayed. Also don’t fuck in an onsen. Both yech and ouch.

Wedding Plan (Wed YT & iQIYI) ep 7fin - Trash watch here! Honestly this was an okay ending, I’m not mad at it. If you can tolerate Mame and liars (kinda the same thing) you’ll be fine with this show.

Summation: An innocent wedding planner falls haplessly and hopelessly in love with a groom who relentlessly pursued him, even though he’s about to marry someone else. A somewhat lackluster mame offering with less of the usual stellar chemistry, but all of the usual lies and manipulation. 7/10

Love in Translation (Sat iQIYI) ep 3 of 10 - I skip everything to do with Tammy and it’s fine. There’s only about 20 minutes of fine but that’s more than enough. On the bright side. So far. No singing.

My Universe (Sun iQIYI) ep 2 of 24 eps - Cassanova Begins Part 2. Aw. It was sad. Another variation on the “my ghost boyfriend” trope (usually sad). 2/10 I don't do sad BL.

Next up is Merry Go Round featuring the pair from Destiny Seeker (we likey) who want to marry each other, but end up fake engaged to the same woman. Beard squared? Looks silly.

Crazy Handsome Rich (Sun Gaga) ep 1 of 10 - There are 2 things I like about this. I bet you can guess what they are.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Jun & Jun (Korea Thur Viki) ep 7 of 8 - I am confused and frustrated about what the communication delay is between the two Juns. It feels artificial and narratively manufactured. But since this is a short form KBL and I know it will be resolved quickly, I’m not as annoyed as I would be if this were Thai BL. Still it feels audience manipulative. I also feel sorry for Simon. BUT it looks like it’ll be a sweet boyfriends final episode.

Stay By My Side (Taiwan Fri Gaga) ep 10fin - Omg they’re so cute!!! Taiwan the purveyors of ultimate sappy gay domesticity. I am going to miss having these to nonsencing all over my dash.

This show was an interesting take on the "ghost boyfriend" trope. About a boy who is tormented by hearing the dead, except when he is around one other boy - desperation+proximity = love. Unfortunately, the story was erratic and waffled about. While the leads turned in solid performances and the sappy domesticity was off the charts, it never really had the strength of the narrative convictions such a strong concept should have supplied. Highly rewatchable and enjoyable for that sappy domesticity but not a whole lot more. Still I always give extra credit for the diabetes-inducing sugar content and rewatch capacity. 8/10 

Kisseki: Dear to Me (Taiwan Tues Viki & iQIYI) eps 3 of 13(?) - I love the punching thing - there is a lot of violent flirting in this show. I’m not mad about it. Ugh, poor thing has real abandonment issues. And now trust issues. I see why we’re getting 12-14 eps. This gonna be MESSY.

Meanwhile, does EVERYONE have a guest cameo? Not that I’m complaining. Hi BLIHID boys! Now I need to rewatch that show. 

Love Class Season 2 (Korea Fri Viki) eps 7-8 of 10 - Oh my God the next morning w/ couple 2 was so darn cute. They are all such terrible flirts with each other. Honestly, this show makes me laugh more than any other BL currently airing. I’m not sure it is meant to be as funny as I find it. While couple 3 (the mature characters) is by far my favorite, I actually think they don’t work with the other two pairs, they feel superfluous to the show. I like the show better because they’re in it, but it feels like two different BL‘s stuck together. KBL certainly can’t handle more than two couple threads at the same time. 

Why R U? (Korea Wed iQIYI) eps 3-4 of 8 - Ugh. I am such a sucker for the FighterTutor dynamic. Why so good? Uh oh. Real kiss! KBL you're spoiling us. But, isn’t sad-seme-hyung dating some chick? Argh. Poor Sunwoo. This show is even worse at repping Fighter's character sympathetically. Who knew that was possible?

My Personal Weatherman AKA Taikan Yoho (Japan Sat Gaga) ep 3 of 8 - The date episode! Even Japan is doing it now. And these two who have been living/fucking together for ages still dance around each other like junior high kids. I gotta say, I watch this one twice because Vicki has different subs from Gaga. I feel like it’s easier to understand if I watch two different translations of the same script. But it’s still quite a taciturn piece. 

Minato's Laundromat Season 2 AKA Minato Shouji Coin Laundry Season 2 (Japan Thu Gaga) ep 8 of 12 - Sides are great. It was mostly a cute ep with tiny bits of Progress and a proper Confession. I miss Shin’s siblings. And then… the much loathed amnesia trope. Really?

Everyone say it with me: Must you, Japan? 

Stay Still (Hong Kong Tues YouTube) ep 5fin - It ended happier than I was expecting. Optimistic for one couple, and most likely optimistic for the other.

Summation: What to say about this offering from Hong Kong? It’s different, a mix of early CBL, Taiwanese shorts, and Pinoy visuals. It felt like the story was 2 independent shorts that had been lengthen and then stuck together, and I wish they'd been approached as separate and tighter entities. Nevertheless, this was a complex little piece,  interesting in a sweaty grungy way, with a certain aura of queer authenticity that made it simultaneously tense, unpredictable, and refreshing. I’m not sure I would necessarily call it BL, but any county’s early foray into the genre usually starts out this way, so perhaps nascent BL? Worth watching, especially if you enjoy stuff from the Philippines and Taiwan. 7/10

In case you missed it

Dinosaur Love ended its run but the final 2 eps are behind a paywall. Word on the street is they aren't good anyway (shocker) so I'm marking it as DNF and moving on with my life. If I can find em grey I'll watch 'em merely so I can give it a rating, but I can't imagine it will get more than 5/10. Seriously, do not bother.

They’ve been auditioning for this since Libido IMHO. You can watch me chronicle their BL MV series in this post. It’s from Idol Romance who will do sad but can do good kisses (Wish You, Nobleman Ryu, Once Again, Kissable Lips, Poongduck 304, Tasty Florida, Tinted With You).

9/26 I Cannot Reach You AKA I Can't Reach You AKA Kimi ni wa Todokanai (Japan ????) - Adapted from the manga, childhood best friends: The cool, smart one who’s good at everything, and his average, dorky friend who struggles. Always by the other’s side, but not together in the way they truly want to be. No matter how hard they try, their hearts cannot reach each other.

9/27 Absolute Zero (Thai iQIYI) - from 2021, Studio Wabi Sabi and New Siwaj finally bring us this “time loop to prevent tragedy” romance. We don’t always get HEAs from them, so I'm on my guard.

i’m currently re-reading the hunger games for the first time since literally middle school and i have so many thoughts.

a. haymitch is so much worse of a drinker in the books like i forgot how genuinely incoherent and essentially useless he is at first

b. i forgot how young katniss is. i feel like it’s hard to keep in mind that she’s 16 in the movies and still a child throughout the series and i find it so heartbreaking that someone so young is forced into providing for her family, fighting to the death, leading a rebellion, etc. it could also be the fact that i’m older than her character now and i’m looking back and realizing how immature 16 year olds are as opposed to when i was like 11 and thought they were basically adults.

c. omg my heart breaks for everyone in the series. the only stand out characters i can really think of who i don’t have any sympathy for are seneca crane, snow, and coin. like the lesser-regarded deaths are the careers’ (that is everyone sympathizes with thresh, rue, reaper, jessup, basically everyone in tbosbas but people are less inclined to sympathize with the careers). i find their deaths so tragic because they thought they were going to go home. clove and cato wanted to go home together just like katniss and peeta did.

d. one of my favorite additions to the movie is thresh’s almost brotherly relationship with rue. because in the books katniss mentions that he never really even took an interest in his district partner (rue obv; but ofc she only saw them at training so we don’t really know) but in the movies, when rue steals that knife, thresh looks at her like proudly and omg my heart. like obviously thresh cared about rue because he killed clove and spared katniss but that small addition makes me smile every time. and because he was such a good person his death kills me. reaper too. they both cared so much and were much better people than the capitol. district 11 were raising their children right.

e. my heart breaks for peeta in particular. he is such a good fucking person and i feel like no one returns it in the way he deserves. he gives and gives and gives to his family but it seems like they give absolutely nothing in return. like his mom having no faith in him and then (if i remember correctly) they don’t even come to live with him in victors’ village

f. i’ve ranted about this before and this doesn’t pertain to og hunger games + i’m referencing the movies but i hate the ending of mockingjay. when katniss is screaming at buttercup that prim is gone? omg the anguish i feel for katniss. she lost everything. the fact that she just lives right next to the decimated remains of her former district? what? like yes she has peeta and they have kids but it feels very “last two people on earth” to me and that seems like such a tragic life.

g. this is such an unjust, unfair, cruel series but it’s so good

So, I've said this before - mostly to friends and fellow gamers - but I want to go into depth on what I mean when I say—

"Genshin Impact is the abusive relationship I didn't know I was in, until I met Wuthering Waves."

Just to clarify: I don't say this lightly.

I don't mean this as a throwaway comment or jestingly, I mean this legitimately. I've actually been in abusive relationships before - friendships and romance - so I know the severity and gravity of a statement like that, but I think what people fail to realize at times is that "relationship" is broader than those two types.

You, as a consumer, can have relationships with companies. You can formulate the equivalent of a fleeting tryst by only playing one game out of a series and loving it while hating all the others (me with Far Cry: Primal, lol). Or, you can create bonds of trust with a company by loving all their titles and then have that trust broken as you get older and deeper into something that no longer gives you the warm and fuzzy feelings it did in your youth (like me with Kingdom Hearts). Or, you can get married to a game series and still twirl your hair and giggle when you talk about them (like me with Horizon: Zero Dawn, etc.)...

These types of relationships between consumer and supplier are common and should be discussed more often when it comes to video games. Everyone has their favorite clothing brand, favorite restaurants, favorite type of phone, etc. But what about games?

What about Gacha Games, specifically?

For ages now, players are just accepting of the predatory nature of Gacha. They're not made to be kind. They're a gambling addiction in disguise, and we all know it. There's literally science behind it and statements from Gacha developers saying how they researched casinos in order to capitalize on the attractiveness and effectiveness of their games. This isn't an opinion at this point: it's a fact.

I actually knew this going into Genshin Impact almost 2 years ago. In fact, I'd avoided the title for a really long time because I didn't want to risk getting sucked into the 8th Ring of Hell... Gacha. But then, through multitudes of fanworks I couldn't seemingly escape from, I was drawn in by Kaveh and Alhaitham (whom i still love, by the way! No slander to them). I wanted to know them, know their world, their relationship, and WHY THEY WERE SO GODDAMN HOMOSEXUAL??? OMG?

LIke, guys— There's the LGBT+ Flag, and then there's them. They're gayer than the flag. They ARE the flag.

Anyways.

So, I got sucked in, and I actually had a lot of fun! I liked the mechanics of Elemental mixing, and I'm a sucker for the open world, and the team thing was new to me... But, just because your "first date" is perfect, it doesn't mean the relationship will be golden.

Still, I stuck it out. I went through everything, and I've basically 100% the entire map at this point, except Mond & Liyue because... why bother? At this point, I'd be sniffing for scraps, and I'm not interested in doing that. But that's just it... I hadn't realized yet that scraps were what I'd be surviving on once my new boyfriend - Genshin - and I had moved in together.

I'd committed. There's money spent here and there, a give-and-take where Genshin took, and I gave, and I ignored it because it's fun! They're fun. The horrible sentence of "they make me laugh" comes to mind. It's that thing of you ignoring the way they belittle you because they're the only good thing you have at the time, and then you've sunk so much attachment and energy into the mix that you can't break away.

You're stuck.

I was stuck.

I felt like it was all I had: The constant attention hoarding Genshin demanded of me, checking in every single day, making sure I did what he told me to do down to the letter, running every commission and clearing every Spiral, just to get those little scraps I mentioned before. A shred of affection, gifts, things I didn't really need nor wanted, but I took anything I could because "it's the thought that counts."

I asked for Resin increases like you beg a shitty boyfriend to buy you the type of cake you love for your birthday, brainwashed into thinking it's okay he didn't get chocolate, and instead got you Liyue talents you don't need, don't want, but you thank him for the coconut cake, even though it's your least favorite. You just cope and hope and think, "it's fine! It's still fun when we finally go out! He takes me on fun dates once a month and buys me something pretty!" Like event weapons and free 4☆s and you smile and pretend you're in love with what you've got when really it's just hurting you and they never listen and tell you you don't matter and no other game will give you what THEY do, and then—!!

And then... there's Wuthering Waves.

Now, I can recognize that this analogy could be taken too seriously by some readers. I'm not ACTUALLY romantically in love with a video game, but it gets the point across.

Wuthering came into my life, and it feels... warm.

Where Genshin used to feel exciting with Elemental Reactions, it had started to feel restrictive and limiting. A slave to "the Meta". You have to have Vaporize to capitalize on your damage and you have to have Faruzan on your Anemo DPS and you have to do this and you have to do that— NO.

No more.

Wuthering Waves removes the stress of "Meta" and makes it feel like you really COULD build a Healer as a DPS for fun, and have them be viable, instead of just building a Healer in Genshin because you're bored out of your goard and thristy for attention.

Wuthering Waves takes away the tediousness of a stamina bar, allowing you to run and fly freely - quite LITERALLY now, with 2.0 - and not have your excitement towards exploring hampered by having to huff up a hill barely slanted. Y'know... your back-flipping, ass-kicking, anime demi-God that can't handle a hike outside of pre-rendered cutscenes. Panting. (Ridiculous!)

KuroGames listens. They mess up sometimes, yes — the email thing was YEESH. 😬 — but they quickly apologize, scramble to make up for it, and then make everything better. They fumbled through the "first date," but now it's a cute memory more than a bad first impression. They strive to make good on their promises, and then they succeed.

When Wuthering holds your hand and says, "Don't worry, I've got you," it feels legitimate. Unlike... Genshin.

Genshin puts the bill for dinner on your side of the table after ordering steak and lobster and says they'll get it next time, while Wuthering splits the bill and then buys you ice cream afterward, and I genuinely feel pity for anyone still dating that scummy sonuva bitch - Mr. Impact - because, honestly? I still haven't gone "no contact" with Genshin yet, myself, even though I know in my heart I should.

I still linger on because of that spent cash and time, but now there's a difference. I don't let them manipulate me anymore. I don't tolerate their mind games and I hold them accountable for their actions, or - more so - lack thereof!

I'm onto their shit and have someone better, and Mr. Waves is treating me right! While Genshin...?

oh my god kiki that last Off-Labels chapter T-T I went "my shaylaaaaa" out loud when i finished it. Also im in literal tears, idk if its a mix of catharsis bc i realyl had a bad day or bc this is so *Jung Hoseok* at his core, this is so him to want to play with someone, to dominate them and teach them, but that's so him to have all this guilt and self-disgust bc he realized he fucked up BAD all this time because in a way, he overestimated his opponent. He thought he was playing with an adept player at pretending to lose and be lost, it took him that long to realize the other person was not laying the same game at all. Like this is so him. Is it your way of telling us youre one of Hobi's ex or something because that's so close to character. The emotional hig and low i felt myself, knowing that MC was enjoying the game of checkers but Hoseok was playing chess so of course they may not understand to what extent they were losing like omg but yeah youre a genius and Off-Labels is one of my favorite non-supernatural characterization of Hoseok

Oh my God, my SHAYLAAAAAA!!! I'm legitimately sitting here CRYING with you and cackling at the same time at your reaction! Trust me, you describing that emotional rollercoaster was EXACTLY what I was hoping to achieve with this chapter.

I knowwww, I know, I know! That's why on Hoseok's birthday I only posted Chapters 5 and 6—because I wanted you all to soak in the giddy and smutty sweet vibes before everything came crashing down in Chapter 7. I'm not even sorry for the emotional warfare! Had to give y'all the sugar high before the crash.

And LISTEN, I am SCREECHING at "Is it your way of telling us you're one of Hobi's ex?" AJSKDKF OH MY GOD STOP. 💀 I wish I could say I knew him that well, but honestly, this characterization comes from watching him for years and seeing that exact duality—this playful, teasing energy but also that deeply reflective, self-aware part of him that would absolutely spiral if he thought he'd hurt someone unintentionally.

Because that's EXACTLY the dynamic I wanted to capture—Hoseok thinking he's playing chess with someone who understands all the moves and strategies, only to realize they've been playing checkers the whole time. He completely overestimated her experience level, and now he's DISGUSTED with himself. Not because she's "pure" or whatever gross shit (we don't do that here!!), but because he realizes the power imbalance was so much bigger than he thought.

But don't worry, because that means we are reaching the end of this mini series (11 chapters), and soon these two will get their shit together! They just need to have an ACTUAL conversation where they ACTUALLY say what they want instead of playing mind games first, lmao.

GMMTV trailer thoughts (part one)

ok, i have time (not really) to talk about each GMMTV trailer for 2025 because apparently i haven't done this since . . . the 2022 line-up oh my gods - anyway, enjoy my half-formed thoughts/feelings

"Dare You to Death" - we follow two detectives (so opposites attract it seems) who are trying to capture a serial killer after this group of college students after one young girl is killed during a game of truth or dare. i like the concept, it's giving "manner of death". i hope that the layers are clean and well-paced, maintaining the tone because there's the love story btwn the detectives, then the mystery with the different, suspicious college students (unless the number shrinks by production time), but that just means there's much to work with

"Head to Head" - we follow Jinn and Jay (neighbors, classmates, rivals) in the fashion department in college and when their beef gets Jay injured (and seeing the future where Jinn dies??), they live together and realize their feelings for each other. personally, the beginning felt very "bad buddy" and then the seeing-into-the-future caught me off guard because why? (to be different, yes, but why?) the story isn't giving 12-episode run-time, but maybe it might surprise me like "be my favorite" did. for now, though it is def low priority watch

"Burnout Syndrome" - guided by the advice/warning (?) of a second male lead, a young man (possibly an escort going through burnout) meets Mr. K, a mysterious and possibly dangerous businessman. idk if i did that synopsis right but that's what it feels like. also i already got that trailer song in my playlist the moment i heard it omgg so good. so can we talk about how we got another offgun series AND it's a LOVE TRIANGLE with DEW AND IT'S BEING DIRECTED BY P'NUCHY?! i'm sat, i'm ready, i am in waiting. i really hope we lean into the symbolism/imagery of burning, fire, passion, kindle, embers, flames, ashes, pain, warmth, danger, etc. because there is so much to work here with this kind of dynamic! we must not waste it! (p.s. i hope we get that scene where dew is walking out and gun just watches him with tears in his eyes while off wraps his arms around him possessively, omg the toxic, the pain, the drama!) (p.p.s. also im a sucker for underwater kisses!)

"I Love (A Lot of) You" - we follow a young man who is tasked with getting a girl with multiple personalities to fall in love with him (all five of her personalities, specifically). the tone . . . is confusing for me? in the beginning it felt like a thriller/horror but then it gets all rom-com then gets all thriller again (i think its the music choice and lighting). im not fully on board with the story - i need more groundwork because there's nuance to be had since she does have a mental health condition, there is typically some trauma associated with it. there is usually a reason as to why each personality emerges, so i really do hope that if it's truly a love story, there is a sensitivity to the subject (tbh look a little bit at "moon knight" as an example).

"Whale Store xoxo" - we follow Wan, a young woman who suddenly finds herself an owner of her father's shop and struggling to make ends meet, until she meets Maewnam, a local handywoman, and they work together to make the shop thrive and fall in love along the way. listen, im a sucker for milklove and will always be ready for them. im glad there's a secondary w/w couple too (who seem to have a rocky relationship - im intrigued). it feels slice-of-life with wholesome dynamics and maybe the occasional pulling of heart strings like those comfort kdramas (i'm thinking of "hometown cha cha" or "crash course romance"). im sat and waiting patiently, ty

"ONLY FRIENDS: DREAM ON" - a second season of messy relationships now in a drama theater setting (fitting) with Boston making it his personal playground . . . again. BITCH! WHEN I SAW THIS, I SCREAMED! NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL A FUNCTIONAL TRAILER! we are given the specific dynamics of each relationship and how they'll interact with each other and how MESSY IT WILL GET OH MY GODS YES! what a blueprint (it's giving degrassi circus trailer bitch)! also i love that mix came back like omg and being in a drama theater? fucking perfection! like now there's intentional layers, like the story has a chance to be tighter and focused yk? and the willingness to break branded pairs? oh i better fucking see it! BREAK THEM UP BITCH LET'S GO! i literally scoffed off the idea of a season two but here i am boo boo the clown sat and ready to get toxic all over again. (p.s. the audacity of giving another gawinjoss story when im still sat for "my golden blood" bitch where aRE THEY!?)

"That Summer" - after getting sent to work for his uncle for a summer, Lava stumbles upon a washed-up amnesiac prince whom he later falls in love with. there's also a mystery as to who is trying to harm the prince and if their relationship can survive outside of one summer on an island. ok...first off i'm happy for Winny and Satang, can't wait to see how it'll go! the story reminds me a lot of "overboard" which leads me to thinking that maybe this story is more set for a movie instead of a 12-episode series, even with the second love story? again it could lean into slice-of-life chill pace territory but the story alone does not butter my biscuit so it may be a low priority watch for now

"My Romance Scammer" - we follow two cousins who find themselves in marriages with scammers, but things get complicated when the scammers' feelings may be more genuine than previously planned. BITCH! i'm sat for this one - like the cousins having different views on love/marriage, the scammers trying not to fall in love with their targets, the cousins trying to get back at the scammers, the repercussions of this scam! gods i freaking love junior and mark like holy shit they are just *chef's kiss* the only thing i think im worried about is how everything is established to us and where we go from there since there's two relationships going long enough for there to be a marriage THEN the scam reveal THEN consequences THEN the re-falling in love yk? but im always ready for messy mess, let's goooo! (also like im filipino so two people in the same family getting married at the same time gave me goosebumps like GIRLL SUKOB)

"Melody of Secrets" - when he stumbles upon a crime scene with no recollection of who he was there for, a young journalist will go to great lengths to find the connection between him, the mysterious detective who claims to be his boyfriend, and a series of murder cases. first off, I WAS FUCKING RIGHT - THEY FINALLY GAVE FORCEBOOK A MYSTERY COP THILLER FUCK YESS (i didn't really post abt it but i spoke it into existence!) I AM FINALLY BEING FED IN 2025!! LIKE FORCE'S BLURRED FACE ON TOP OF BOOK AND THAT FINAL SCENE??? BITCH! 2nd, the story is intriguing but goddamnit there better be some groundwork for this mystery like im already not feeling for the amnesia (sorry) and is tankhun really a twin? ugh. i might make a separate post about it but some alternative ideas are connection btwn memory and music (hello, melody?); no amnesia but faded memories because they were separated and got reunited; family memories or legacy/ancestry??? regardless, i AM FUCKING SAT AND IMPATIENTLY WAITING!

"Love You Teacher" - when his boyfriend gets into an accident where his mind regresses to a seven-year-old, a kindergarten teacher (who happens to not like kids) tries to navigate this new landscape in his relationship. listen, i love santaperth and sammy, but . . . this story just does not . . . do it for me? i do believe there's a way to make it work but there needs to be an emphasis on nuance and recovery because . . . how do i put this lightly . . . there's so much that can go wrong. i'm not saying it's inherently bad, just that there should be sensitivity instead of just being another silly cutesy story. also it's giving movie than 12-episode series so idk . . . im not holding my breath for this one

Summary: I absolutely love the Ace Attorney games. While I think game 1 was an overall better game, case 2-4 is in my all time favorite cases. I loved the introduction of new characters while also expanding on the development of returning characters. The game itself also improved with new music and animations. The music especially was really fun and I would just let it play, especially the circus music, Edgeworth's theme, and Engarde's themes. I wasn't the biggest fan of 2-3 but 2-2 and 2-4 were stellar. I think if this game also had an added 5th case ti would be just as good as the first game. But I still absolutely love this game, definitely a favorite of mine. The humor is unmatched. I had to pause and laugh out loud so many times. The writers and animators are real comedic geniuses. I love the trust and bond Phoenix and Edgeworth form, they are such interesting characters. I also love the addition of Pearl and Franziska, we love weird girls!!! Definitely a game I'll recommend to others! Truly a great experience!

i doubt anyone is surprised by this choice lol. this fic is my pride and joy, i worked on it for a year and kept up a consistent update schedule for it. it's a story that is very near and dear to my heart and helped me start to heal my inner teenager.

2. i hate accidents (except when we went from friends to this)

Summary:

Best friends Louise and Rudy get married for tax purposes. No, really, that's totally it, honest. No way are any actual feelings gonna form. No way... ...unless...?

the fic i wrote for Roudise week 2023. this story was SO MUCH FUN to write omg. the whole premise started as a joke between my beta reader Red and I about these two getting married for taxes and the prompts for the week were announced i knew i had to use the idea. it was a huge hit with the Roudise side of the fandom and i'm so glad that they all loved it so much.

Summary:

When Tina Belcher is reaped for the Hunger Games, she's sure that her life is over. But when Zeke Tisdale volunteers as the male tribute and promises to protect her in the arena, she realizes that she might have a chance of surviving this...if she can avoid falling for him.

the Hunger Games AU i wrote for Zekina week 2023. as most of my followers probably know by now, i freaking LOVE the Hunger Games series, both the movies and the books (though I lean a lil more towards the books lol). the prompts for the week immediately made me think of it, and since i'd already had the first 2k or so words typed out already i figured why not finish it for the week? it was also written as the week went on because it was a last minute decision lol.

4. Long Way Home

Summary:

After Zeke leaves for three months to work for a logging company in Alaska, Tina receives a call telling her that he passed away in an avalanche. Devastated but determined to stay strong for her loved ones, she must learn how to live without the one that got away. ...or does she? i LOVE this fic. normally i hate break up fics but i worked very hard on this one and did SO MUCH RESEARCH for it. overall i think i did really good with it and i'm always thrilled when someone reads it.

the Don't Worry Darling AU that no one asked for lmao. i was so let down by the movie but still loved the concept, so i decided to use it for a fic and loved the end result. just like with LWH, this one is very niche so i understand why it's not more popular. but i really love this fic and hope that one day it gets the recognition it deserves.

If the Katsuki-Nikiforovs ever took GQ Magazine's Couples's Quiz game...

...it would be an utterly sappy and unhinged rollercoaster, as I cover in Chapter 7 of my post-canon, Olympic-Games-focused Yuri!!! on Ice fic (which only has 4 chapters left until completion!). Yuuri, understandably, feels the need to profusely apologize to the GQ production staff for putting up with him and Viktor (plus the friends they'd invited to watch the filming, which includes Yurio and Christophe, among others).

Indeed, as I note Reddit user r/OohYouMakeMeFeel_369's reaction: "I laughed my ass off when I saw Yuuri's tweet a few hrs ago where he tagged the filming crew and promised to buy them some strong sake for putting up with them. And then, omg Viktor followed up by inviting them to Yutopia. My fav Russian continues to be #NumberOneHasetsuTourismAmbassador"

If you've watched any of the actual Couple's Quiz game series, you might note that they usually end the quiz with some form of the question: "What does your partner love most about you?"

Even though my fic is currently over 200K words, this scene is definitely in my top 3 favorites I've written, because it allowed me to try to capture how Yuuri and Viktor -- who, at this point, have been together for over 5 years, and married for nearly three -- perceive the other's love.

In particular, it allows you to see the traits that they've come to appreciate about themselves by way of the other's vantage point: something that was particular gratifying to create headcanons around as it pertains to Yuuri's increasing confidence through canon, which continues to grow as he and Viktor face life's challenges together. All in all, this chapter will give you the warm-fuzzies, and I believe you can still enjoy it even if you don't want to read the larger fic (though I do hope you'd give it a chance, especially if you are interested in seeing how their relationship might have evolved).

Below is an excerpt that I hope piques your interest in checking the story out. Note: as it gets closer to completion, I'll probably post more excerpts from the first 10 chapters, because I sort of sucked at promoting this fic when I first started posting it to ao3 back in November...lesson learned!

“Never mind their gross kissing,” Yurio loudly complained, throwing them a look of disgust as if they’d just insulted Potya. “What I want to know is what the score is now that Katsudon got all 3 right.”

Jamie answered almost immediately.

“Ok, remember: there’s still a final question for you both, which are big multi-pointers,” he called out, flipping a few pages of his clipboard. And, since neither of you have used your three hints, you could each get an additional three points when everything wraps up, if you decide not to use them. So with that disclaimer, Yuuri is currently in the lead, up by 1.5 points.”

Before Yuuri could outwardly celebrate his small leg-up, Chris piped up with a predictably suggestive comment. 

“Hmmm, I wonder if dear Yuuri will be able to maintain his lead? I believe he can, he’s always had such excellent stamina, after all…”

As his voice trailed off, Yura turned to face him with a pronounced scowl on his face. 

“You need new material, Giacometti. These two have been together for years: it’s time to show some damn evolution.” 

He then began to mutter under his breath, saying something that sounded like “resting on his fucking laurels, what a waste,” which made several people nearby laugh. The Ice Tiger had a bit of a point: stamina jokes were so 2017.

While Yuuri was pleased with his lead, he was slightly nervous around what Jamie and Tarneka had selected for their final questions. There had definitely been some bizarre ones nestled within the ‘bank’ of options the two co-producers had emailed them a few weeks back. As he’d filled out his answers and allocated the points for the thirty questions he was supposed to submit – having to eventually move to a different room away from Viktor, as they’d kept distracting one another with their snickering – he remembered barking out mildly hysterical laughter at a few of the options in the last category. 

“What might your life be like in a parallel universe?” had stumped him, and he wondered if his husband had been brave enough to pick that one out; it was the kind of wacky, philosophical question he adored.

“Only 1.5 points behind…that’s nothing,” Viktor spoke up, with a gleam in his eye. “Don’t get too comfortable, Mr. Katsuki-Nikiforov.”

“Sure thing, Mr. Katsuki-Nikiforov,” Yuuri lobbed back, only a split-second later, before slipping into focus mode and reaching for the last notecard.

Before he could lay a hand on it, however, his spouse called out to Tarneka and Jamie.

“Are you able to dock points for intimidating the competition?” he asked, sounding put-out. 

Yuuri blinked, unsure as to what he was insinuating.

“You have on your very eros nothing-can-stop-me face, and I won’t be able to concentrate if I’m too distracted by how hot you look,” Viktor continued on in Russian, furrowing his eyebrows, cutely. 

Powerless against the giggles that burst forth, he clapped a hand over his mouth as he watched his love’s eyes begin to narrow. 

“You can’t be serious, Vitya,” Yuuri wheezed, following Viktor’s lead and switching to Russian. “This is just my face! It’s not like I’m doing anything on purpose.”

Yuuri missed the ensuing retort amidst the sound of Tarneka’s ask to Yura for a translation of their back-and-forth: a request the Ice Tiger very firmly denied.

“Trust me, you’re better off not knowing,” he griped, before marching over to stand near them, just out of the camera frame. 

“Get a grip, old man!” he hissed in Russian, staring daggers at Viktor. “This thirsty idiot act may have been acceptable a few years ago, but the time is long past for you to realize that the person you married is just a man. For fuck’s sake, Katsudon isn’t some god.”

Viktor visibly bristled at these words, and Yuuri mentally prepared himself to intervene.

“I resent that, Yura,” his husband replied, loftily. “My Yuuri is divine; he’s not ‘just’ anything! Did you even see his Sports Week magazine cover? When I saw the final proofs, I almost fainted: all the blood in my body began to rush straight to m– ”

“Mmmmmph!”

☆ Twisted Love

1. This book was amazing. The plot twists will blow your brains out.

2. Alex Volkov. That's it. Just him. Like he is just amazing.

3. Pretty words and pretty faces don't equal pretty souls. This line. This. Freaking. Line. It had me crying.

4. Also the way he just walked her home for a year without them talking.....AAAAHHHH just everything in this book was amazing.

Overall all the books are amazing. These people live rent free in my head. But the fact that all of them got a happy ending and are successful and shit is like probably the fakest shit ever but then again it's books so eh. But on a real note photographer, queen, lawyer and fashion designer like are ya kidding me??? And the diversity their friend group has like Asian, European, American like wow. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the smut in the book but then again that's just my personal opinion a lot of other people loved the smut tho so idk. favorite sapphic ships (can be from any media), go‼️‼️

Happy to do my part during Lesbian Visibility Week 🫡 (No order except for the last one being my fave)

1. Clarke/Lexa (The 100) - Unfortunately a victim of bury yours gays but first time for me seeing a Sapphic ship and I was like "girls....kissing girls?! Interesting this means nothing to me." (<- liar)

2. Emma/Regina (Once Upon a Time) - Same as before, just one of the earliest f/f ships for me

3. Korra/Asami (TLOK) - Didn't get why this was canon when I first watched it (I had yet to have some Realizations lmao), rewatched it at some point and was like Oh. oooohhhhh

4. Nobara/Maki (JJK) - Nobara is the lesbian of all time omg....the way she talks about Maki and appreciates her SO much. Maki so clearly appreciating her company and her support (but also maybe doesn't even know how much Nobara is so Ready to Fight anyone). They keep getting put on dates in official art....I know what they are....

5. Nami/Vivi (One Piece) - It has been...twenty one years (of irl time) since these two were separated...when they're reunited (which seems like it could hopefully be soon) it's gonna be the biggest Yuri event in the world (to me). LOVE them so much the way they looked out for each other throughout everything and Vivi recognizing Nami's strengths and Nami even though she's scared of fighting getting hurt because she loves Vivi SO much. Girls of all time.

6. Ymir/Historia (AOT) - I've had my issues with AOT so I don't end up talking about it a lot, but this is hands down the best ship. Historia was my fave character and they were IT to each other and the final letter Ymir sends to her is top five most devastating moments in the whole series. Love some tragic lesbians.

7. Hinako/Asashi (Doughnuts Under a Crescent Moon) - Read a lot of published yuri at one point and this one was a standout. Hinako struggles with comphet, anxiety, trying to meet people's expectations of her, and is also good ace rep! The two of them start out as friends and Hinako coming to accept herself is sooo good, probably some of the best canon rep I've read (need an anime for this asap)

8. Rhaenicent (HOTD) - After Game of Thrones bombed so spectacularly at the end I thought I would not like HOTD, but they brought me back on board with the toxic lesbians. Literally inseparable from each other at the start and the one person that they trust, and it just devolves as EVERYONE around them fucks them over in a way where they end up blaming the other and are bitter and hostile about it, but even still after everything you can tell there's some love that never went away truly? Insane.

9. Pharah/Mercy (Overwatch) - ...Exposing myself as an overwatch fan....But these two have some of the gayest voicelines in the entire game (Pharah is my main so I would know lmao. I'm also automatically gay for any Mercy that pocket heals/buffs me ajssllflglh). Fly through the skies together and protect each other...HEAVY flirting while they're at it...Mercy is like the one person to know about Pharah's mommy issues....Yeah I like them lmao.

10. Utena/Anthy (Revolutionary Girl Utena) - Woooaaahhhh who saw this one coming as my fave sapphic ship....everyone? Ok. Anyways ship of all time to me. It's healthy. It's toxic. It's doomed. It's saved. It's canon. I can't even really put into words in one short paragraph why they work so well, but them and their relationship are the heart of RGU. When they get to the point where Utena realizes that what Anthy doesn't need is a prince to save her, rather that Anthy needs her own agency, and Anthy is FINALLY able to leave her abusive situation through that agency, and be able to find and love Utena with full trust. The queer and feminist themes of RGU really just make it unlike any other ship that I've seen.

Can the answer be all of them?? Panchi/Rokurou is really up there for me (also because I love your Berseria S/I and and their friendship with Ash, and so is Hijikata/Panchi.

OH but Daigo is such a fun one since A) i think daigo needs a break and deserves to be loved and B) i feel partially responsible for you crushing on him at all hehe!

OH AND SNOW OF COURSE!!!! The soulmates of all time!! They're in love for literal centuries throughout the games and UGH the devotion.. AND THE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AS THEY SUPPORT EACH OTHER THROUGH BEING L'CIE IN THE FIRST GAME?! Ugh Snow/Panchi the ship that you are omg. Also the kids are freaking adorable.

But absolutely Panchi and Sanji!!!! They're written SOOOOOOO good and I love their development over the series and how they go from nonstop bickering to being so incredibly in love. They support each other and work so well together, and I love that they get to live happily ever after because it's what the both of them deserve!!! I love how they both care so deeply about each other and ajsjwjdhqjdhw I could honestly gush about them all day, they invented true love!!!!!

Ash/Rokurou is such a fun one for me! Nothing better than sparing with your beloved <3 and have that sparing session turn into a makeout one- ahem (And yesss!!! I adore Berseria Panchi's friendship with Berseria Ash!! Gkdngkdkf You know it's good when I want to draw those two! Specifically the pinky promise!)

As for Daigo... >:( I'm blaming you for that one forever! /lh /hj jokes aside, I really didn't expect to love him or my ship with him as much as I have- They're just so fun to write about and I can't wait till I properly play Y2 so I can write all that good food <3

SGKDNGKDNFKD 👉👈 Just seeing Snow's name got me all happy! I can't thank you enough for how supportive you are and for listening to my constant ramblings of him! Not even Time, Death, and Gods can separate those two because they'll always find a way to be together and I love that for them <3 also I'm happy you love my kiddos! They love their Aunt Ash too!

YESSSS SANJI/PANCHI MENTION!!! The development is one of my favorite parts of that ship! They both had to develop on their own before being able to develop a romantic relationship and it's just real neat how the two get better at communicating over time! I love those funky little pirates and I'm glad you enjoy them too!
