MY MOIRAIL IS A RAINBOW DRINKER
Hey, you know what we haven’t had in a long time? A Trollventure. Also, a fanadventure that stars a vampire. I don’t know if I have *ever* had a fanadventure on here that stars a Fanadventure, but I know with certainly this one does, because the title told me. The opening panel told me that apparently this comic contains grim themes, nudity, and gore, and that I should follow The Simpsons’ rule of “do not follow the examples of the characters on screen.” Luckily for me and the sake of this review, this fanadventure only has like, 26 pages, so I don’t think it’s gotten to any of the real scary parts. But who knows. I will, once I start reading this, so let’s not stall any longer.
The Spectre of Twilight will never leave us as a culture, will it? Who could’ve predicted that one day, 9/11 would set off a chain of events that not only included Shades of Grey and people misinterpreting Pete Wentz lyrics forever, but this specific adventure. I don’t know where I’m going with this paragraph so I’m just going to stop while I’m behind. I will say that reading first person prose is, again, an experience, mainly because, again, we do second person prose around these parts, even though it is the conventional thing to do basically everywhere else. Cool to note, which is why I noted it.
Okay so I have to ask one simple character design question: why is this character not wearing pants? I don’t mean from a Watsonian perspective, my complaint is specifically of the doylanian variety. Why are they not wearing pants. I get that this is an edgy, nsfw fanadventure but I feel kinda uncomfortable with how the artist is drawing our leading lady? Like, in a very overtly sexualized way I don’t often seen in Fanadventures, like she’s a piece of meat. Seriously, this comic is obsessed with showing her underwear for the whole world to see. Again. Very uncomfortable reading this.
Oh wait no this is not our leading lady, well she is but it turns out there’s a cooler, edgier protagonist just waiting in the wings, and he wants to be a Rainbow Drinker too. Gasp! How shocking! You know I thought that I would have seen the last of the 2000s era gamer comic machismo but that’s kinda the vibes I’m getting from this comic? And also yeah that’s basically the end of this comic. I’m…I’m not gonna say it wasn’t interesting, or different from the usual Fanadventures that I have read on this blog…and I won’t say that there’s not competent pacing…but also, I will say that there might be some…issues that the comic might have to work out.

It's wert (heh) pointing out that the Aradiabot timeline where Gamzee flipped out and killed everybody in the session might not be one where Vriska was godtier, making this slightly less of an insane feat. With the error bars so large on what this could've been, I don't know what this tells us of his power level. That said, I do have a lot of speculations! (This is very long, my apologies.)
I think the lower bound of what the doomed Gamzee did was something like this:
Gamzee kills Equius (free) and then Nepeta (not using her hunting skills and speed to her fullest advantage). Nobody realises anything is amiss; the meowrails could simply be doing moirail things with their phones off.
Gamzee gets the jump on Eridan who doesn't know to take him seriously and whose best weapon is at this point the long-ranged Ahab's Crosshairs. People assume he's moping.
Gamzee kills Tavros and Vriska while questing at Vriska's. Aradiabot at this point probably knows that the timeline is doomed, so if she finds it odd Eridan hasn't duelled Sollux yet she'll either put it down to divergence, or not care because doomed innit. She's making preparations to leave, not fix things.
Gamzee kills Terezi and Karkat. Even if they know at this point, I doubt Karkat could fully believe it until he laid eyes on the bodies, and Terezi could well try arresting him before she goes to kill him. Karkat was the one who sent Equius after Gamzee in the main timeline, and while that was a doomed venture, he is pretty much the only person thinking in terms of team strategy in the trolls' session.
Kanaya, having worked out some of what's happening, has been messaging people like mad to rally some sort of party together to beat him, but she's getting a lot of no replies, except for Aradia who just unhelpfully tells her everything's doomed innit.
Gamzee kills Sollux before Feferi (we've seen Feferi's revenge leap, whereas Sollux's power and range and ability to fly make me think his revenge blast might well level anything within a few miles).
Kanaya goes to fight him and is killed. She goes down. When she comes back up again, Gamzee is gone to collect the bodies into a single place, and without any blood to suck, her rainbow drinker powers can't bring her back fully. When he gets back to retrieve her body, he kills her again, and this one sticks.
Aradia arrives after he finishes covering the book in blood and, forewarned and forearmed, kills him.
Gamzee has a lot of strength and speed, so if he gets near somebody who doesn't realise he's snapped, he could probably kill that person. Stealth and miscommunication do most of his work for him, with the rest largely down to people in the right order (Equius before Nepeta, Karkat before he can wrangle people into a defence, Kanaya not around any blood sources, etc).
While on the other hand the upper bound could easily have been:
Gamzee kills Karkat and Kanaya publicly but without immediate access to more victims (i.e. somebody's watching them on the Server side, or Karkat was mid-memo rant when he dies). Everybody knows immediately that he's snapped.
He then kills Nepeta, which is enough to send Equius into a rage when he finds out. He doesn't find out yet.
While people are talking about Karkat and Kanaya's deaths, he attacks Tavros and (godtiered) Vriska. He kills Tavros and is so much of a threat that Vriska has to retreat (as you can imagine, when she realises she had to run away, she gets very pissed and starts hunting Gamzee).
Kanaya comes back to life, sucks Karkat's blood, our girl is back in action and she has no mercy.
Equius realises Gamzee killed Nepeta.
Terezi, realising Gamzee is a big threat, lures him to a favourable location for her with plans to kill him. She does this on a public memo so everybody knows where she is and where he's planning to be.
On his way to Terezi's planet, Gamzee runs into Feferi and she fights him and gets killed. Sollux and Eridan learn this right away.
As Gamzee arrives at Terezi's trap, Vriska and Equius arrive pretty much at the same time. Terezi fights Gamzee and dies.
Immediately after, Vriska and Equius try to defeat him. Vriska might not be going for the kill straightaway, but Equius 100% is.
Gamzee kills Equius, which makes Vriska see it's to the death. Kanaya and Eridan (armed with a science wand Kanaya gave him for other reasons at some point) arrive, but fail to put a dent in him. Vriska manages to stay alive for longer, maybe Kanaya does too with her speed, but Eridan dies.
Sollux arrives, and it's a 3v1 with Vriska, Kanaya, and Sollux versus Gamzee. Kanaya dies, and then Solluz, and then Kanaya again, and then Vriska.
Aradia arrives to find Gamzee distracted by scrawling over the book, and as he finishes the last character on the last page, she kills him.
I don't know which one is more realistic or where the actual event lies in between them, but those are kind of the upper and lower bounds I feel like there are for what 'Gamzee flipped out and killed everyone' could mean in that timeline. And incidentally, if anybody wants to write those up as fanfics I'll absolutely read them lol
Sorry for the pages of text, just thought it was an interesting thing to note: we don't know how Gamzee killed everybody! Thought that was ripe for speculation.
Loving the liveblog, hope you're having a great day!
I love the level of detail you're put into this analysis.
There are some extremely evocative scenes here. A confrontation where he forces God Tier Vriska to retreat is something I'd love to see expounded upon - and I particularly like the image of an Aradiabot who stumbles upon a barely-coherent, HONKsick Gamzee, silently observes the bodies, and telekinetically snaps his neck.
Out of these two scenarios, I believe the second is probably closer to the truth. While Frenzied Gamzee is capable of being sneaky, he seems to generally prefer shock tactics and intimidation, so a bloody warpath seems more plausible than a stealth-focused approach.

Florah, what are three things you're grateful for?
I'm uh... grateful f✿r a l✿t ✿f things, actually.
I'm grateful f✿r all the friends I have wh✿ checked ✿n me and stayed with me after Karima was killed. If n✿t f✿r them, I w✿uldn't still be alive. They gave me the strength t✿ keep living even th✿ugh I l✿st the m✿st imp✿rtant pers✿n and relati✿nship in my life, and I was c✿mpletely shattered and miserable. I ✿we them everything.
I'm grateful f✿r Feriya f✿r giving me an✿ther reas✿n t✿ live. She helps me calm d✿wn when I'm anxi✿us, and she d✿esn't let me is✿late when I'm depressed. M✿st imp✿rtantly, she keeps me c✿mpany. Sure, I have Snelly, but it's n✿t the same, y✿u kn✿w? Heheheh, it's alm✿st like she's a m✿irail.
I'm even grateful f✿r Maer✿n, if y✿u can believe that. She was the first pers✿n t✿ find me when I was still basically catat✿nic and dead ✿n my feet, and she was actually really kind and patient. We hated each ✿ther's guts, but she still helped and t✿✿k care ✿f me until Tuuya, Cac✿ph, and Pr✿xus t✿✿k ✿ver. I d✿n't think I can hate her anym✿re, h✿nestly. I mean, h✿w d✿ I keep hating her after she basically saved my life, s✿me✿ne she d✿esn't even like, f✿r abs✿lutely n✿ benefits? She hasn't used what she did f✿r me t✿ make me indebted t✿ her ✿r s✿mething. She did what she did, then went ab✿ut her business like it was n✿ big deal.
✿h geez, I'm talking way t✿✿ much n✿w. I've been spending t✿✿ much time ar✿und Tant✿r.
>> You don't voice it since it would be more than three things, but you're thankful for Proxus as well. She brings a level of peace that you thought only your moirail could do, maybe more since she understands the rainbow drinker stuff since she's one, too.

I wanna know more about Akasha's like- Blood drinking habits and whatnot. Why did she start doing it? Is she some form of like... Rainbow Drinker or something? Did something happen in her life to cause her to feel the need to consume it? Is she like- Always aware that she's doing it as well?
This one is going to be long since there's a lot to discuss.
Content Warnings- blood drinking, culling, grub harm, addiction
I've considered the idea of her being some sort of rainbow drinker variant but for now she's a normal troll with a mutation that lets her safely consume blood as food and briefly copy powers. Perhaps the mutation is the result of rainbow drinker genes getting mixed in the genetic slurry?
As a grub, she was already displaying these habits by eating others for their blood. Since lusii pick out their grub by their scent, I imagine hers was able to smell that she'd been feeding on the blood of trolls and was like "𝙖𝙮𝙤 𝙄 𝙙𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙤𝙤." Her lusus is a Chupacabra-based creature who feeds on troll blood as its only food source. It used to hunt for the two of them, and for the first 2 sweeps it would only feed Akasha blood.
In her youth, Akasha wouldn't often go out to hunt. She'd only do it if her lusus was gone for a while and the supply at home was running out. In fact, after her and her lusii realized what a normal troll diet was, blood was only used as a supplement to her regular meals. However, after the loss of several matesprits/moirails as well as general life stress, she started to drink more blood as a stress reliever while hunting helped with her built up rage. Overtime this has become an addiction.
Nowadays she has to regularly drink blood. She can live off of normal food but it doesn't satisfy her cravings. Furthermore, she'll experience withdraw symptoms (headaches, irritability, lethargy, etc) and if she goes too long without blood, she'll enter a blood frenzy, which is dangerous for everybody. The blood doesn't have to be straight from the source meaning that blood bags work just fine. She's gone to shady back-alley doctors for it before, and her weapon can collect blood. Not sure if synthetic blood would do anything- She prefers fresh blood but doesn't always feel like going out and getting it.
When she drinks blood, she can get a quick jolt of the victim's powers. For example, she could shoot an psionic eye laser if she drank from a goldblood who has that ability. This is also why her addiction is pretty bad- using powers feels great to her. The more she drinks, the longer she can use the power. Doesn't work on highbloods or with abilities that require lots of time/skill to use. Mixing bloods/powers is ill advise and can severely hurt her and/or cause collateral damage if the powers do not mix well.
As for awareness, she is well-aware of it. The only time she isn't is whenever she enters a blood frenzy. During them she becomes instinctual, aggressive, and out of control. Her physical strength and senses get out of hand. She also hunts indiscriminately, meaning that she might attack her allies or higher bloods (including seadwellers). She'll rapidly drink and mix blood, another reason why blood frenzies are so dangerous. When they're over, she passes out for a few days and doesn't remember what happened.
She isn't super public about her blood drinking, preferring to not mention it without reason to strangers. However, it isn't a huge secret; trolls have seen her hunt, rumors have been spoken about her, and friends will crack jokes about it. As a highblood, most don't bat an eye at the fact, especially since she feeds on lowbloods. The main concern is making sure she doesn't kill the wrong troll, such as a seadweller.
As for why I made her drink blood, a thing I do is give my characters some kind of quirky trivia sentence. For Akasha it was one of her Troll Call bullet points: "Don't let her drink your blood." There was not much to it beyond that. Later on, I wanted to expand upon that point and make it more creative. Why would it be bad for her to drink your blood? Additionally, her sign -Scoriborn- is "of the Dangerous" so I figured I could connect the two; I decided to give her the ability "Copy and Taste" which lets her briefly copy the powers of the person whose blood she drinks. For the sake of balancing, she can't copy highblood powers (maybe in the future?). It also ties into how ceruleans have a thief/criminal motif to them; Vriska is a thief of light, Remele plagiarizes and steals art, Mallek hacks, etc. Akasha steals blood (sometimes lives) and then copies their powers.

A New Lease on Life
His hands felt like a collection of cramping muscles by the time he stepped away from the keyboard. The pain radiating up his arm as he did his best to massage the aching muscles did absolutely nothing to help his rising temper. Why was he even helping this piss-poor collection of mid and high-bloods. It would have been easier to watch the fallout and make deals with the carrion feeders that would inevitably show up afterwards. Of course then he wouldn't have the best life broker in his pocket, which he was willing to do almost anything for. Even risk the chance of the sun rising while he traveled just so he can be there before the "not a rainbow drinker" returned. Today was already off to a wonderful start.
6 hours later and he found himself sitting against a stone wall, hiding from the blistering death of the sun in shade that was hardly habitable. Harvey had come to check on him when he first arrived, having sprinted a good distance to avoid incineration and left a heaving panting mess because of it. He was offered something cool to drink and never addressed again which was more than fine by Alucar, even if all it left him to talk to was a dead girl. The body of said girl being held somewhere nearby presumably but her wrecked carcass was of little concern to him. What peaked his interest was the spirit that was gliding about leaving behind threads of ethereal force that he could and would pull on when the time came. To most people she would register as maybe a draft at most. Some would be able to see her as the wraith she was but he was different. What he saw was her, wraith and the threads of life that held her in this world. Threads of many colors clung to her and drifted away into ephemeral wisps of glitter. Most of the strands that clung to her where pitch and scarlet leaving him to believe that bringing her back would be a terrible mistake. Though on the off chance that he was making an unfair assumption....
"You know, your quads are going through a lot for you. They are even willing to make a deal with the devil all for your sake, isn't that heartwarming?" The way she focused on him was somewhat surprising, it was almost as if she had knew he could see her this whole time.
"I only have one quad and he's not here. What are you talking about, deal with the devil? What are you doing?"
"OH? Vladir is a drunken mess, Harvey is barely keeping up with niceties and Bea is killing someone just for you. I must have made an assumption."
"Oh Vladdy...Poor man's lost without me. Killing for me isn't new, though it's new that it'd be Harv's moirail. Why?"
"That has to do with the first question you asked, you see they made a deal with the Devil. And I am that devil."
"Devil this, devil that. You've got a big ego don't you, little man?"
"When you come from nothing and Ego is a lot to have, though I suppose you know a lot about egos. Seeing as yours put you here in the first place."
"My ego isn't what put me here, that'd be a bullet. At least pretend to know the story, dick."
"Oh dear, I seem to have upset the dead assassin, tell me. How did you fuck up that badly?"
"Wouldn't you like to know, little red?"
"Not at all little miss botched, I was simply being polite to the dead."
"If that's your polite, I fear for any of your quads."
"I suppose you would know how to treat your quads with the only one being a drunken mess because of you? A token role model you must be."
"Must be nice to think you can control your quads even after death."
"Must be nice to hide behind your failure by being dead."
"Everyone dies eventually. That's how life works."
"Then you have a poor grasp of life."
"Oh good you're insane. You could have saved us both this conversation if you started with that."
"I may be insane but you'll soon understand what I meant and I hope you don't condemn your friends for their actions."
"Yeah I'm not talking to you anymore." Which was fine by him, she was beginning to get under his skin. His first instinct about bringing back the bratty assassin was probably correct and he was gonna regret it, but he was gonna to make her suffer on the way back just as much.
Fittingly he began here the heavy footfalls of the beast that kept Bea's company. And just like that his body had been delivered to him.
"Here's your body, you better follow through."
"I will I will." He dismissed her with a wave of the hand and made his way over to the body that was still warm from being outside, or having been recently alive. It didn't matter as much as the rapidly degrading strands of life that were melting away from this woman's body. If it had none the transfer would be risky at best and final at worst. This was acceptable, even if it wouldn't hurt as much as he would have like still....
His hand snapped out and grasped ahold of seemingly nothing. To his eyes though, now a full burning red that engulfed them from tip to tip, he was grasping onto the phantom threads connected to the aggravating specter. She cried out first in shock and then rage and violence as he began to drag her towards the corpse. The shriek, as he began cutting into her very soul with her own thread of life, intensified until even Bea and Harvey could hear the unholy sound reverbing throughout the cave. The threads ate into Alucar's hands causing gashes and cuts to appear as if on their own and the pain that shot through him wasn't much better. Though the smile on his face was, as the ghost had so nicely described, insane while he dragged the struggling spirit closing and closing bit by bit until finally the cave was silent.
"Congratulations!" Alucar spoke in a much too cheery tone, typing a phantom bow onto her chest. "Welcome to your new lease on life."

Meager appetite
Kanaya ♦️ Karkat
Kanaya retrieved two plates and two forks from your cupboards. She had grown so accustomed to your hive that she knew precisely where to find the dishes and the cutlery. You sat at the table while she dressed it. Her finally sitting down with you was your signal to begin cutting away at the grubcake she had brought. In no time you're devouring this delicious cake, that is, until you notice her plate is still empty.
"Wait, you're not having any? Come on, cut a piece for yourself."
"No, I am delighted to offer this sweet grubcake in its entirety to you. It was a joy to make knowing you would be on the receiving end."
"What? Is it a gift or something? I appreciate the gesture, and I do enjoy your cooking, but it's really not necessary to refrain from enjoying your hard work. I mean it, I can't finish this all by myself."
"You do not need to consume it all in one sitting. Do not be ridiculous, you would get yourself ill. Preserve some for another occasion."
You set your fork down, adopting a grave expression. "There's something you're not telling me. Why haven't you taken a single bite out of this grubcake? Is there something wrong with it?" The mere thought of having possibly consumed poisoned food brings your stomach to your throat.
"No, no! Karkat. Do you think I am deranged? Why would I do such a dreadful thing to you, of all people? I could never imagine. I care so deeply about you, you know that." You frowned. Although you wanted to believe she was sincere, there was something oddly suspicious about the way she was dodging your question. She sighed, painfully aware that you would not budge until this was clarified. "I really do adore baking. Alas, I do not get as many opportunities to put my skills to good use, ever since… you know…"
You raise your shoulders and quickly look around. "Yes, of course, I fucking know already! I'm an all-seeing entity looking over the universe and I know what you were doing with that grubcake. Do you see how stupid this shit sounds? No, I don't know. Until you loosen up and tell me what the hell is going on, I am going to continue assuming the worst. That some wicked hag decided to trick me into ingesting what seems like an inconspicuous grubcake but it actually contains a special ingredient that will give me some incurable disease. Is that what you want?"
Kanaya's eyes linger over you throughout your ranting, her stare feels unusually indifferent. When she manages to get a word in, she explains sheepishly: "I cannot eat solid food anymore-"
"Some asshole knocked all of your teeth? A piano dropped from the 6th floor and landed on your pan? Hilarious. I'm bent in half in laughter. As far as I can see you still have all your teeth since you're not drooling all over the table and you can still enunciate just fine. Now use your gogdamn ignorance gash and-" You pause. Amidst your irritation, you realize one small detail had slipped past your mind… "Oh."
It all made sense, now. Kanaya seems relieved to see you regain your composure.
"You mean rainbow drinkers can't eat food?"
"We are not quite incapable, but it is not preferable. Various aches and ailments customarily ensue."
"Oh." You look at the unfinished piece of grubcake on your plate. You really were quick to accuse her for something that was not her fault at all, weren't you? In what world would Kanaya be able to do this to her moirail, let alone to anyone. If she had a grievance with anyone, she would not have resorted to such cheap tricks. Telling them off, of course; beating some sense into them when necessary, sure. Poisoning? It would've been an uncharacteristically sneaky and dramatic way to settle her differences with you.
One gets startled easily when you have been stabbed in the back so many times before, you guess. But now that she had revealed it wasn't her intention at all, you just feel like a fool. A relieved fool, at least.
"It saddens me that I barely even get to taste my creations anymore. I used to enjoy sharing meals but it has become an exigent chore to mask my minuscule appetite. I really cannot consume much or else I will feel ill. But what use is putting so much care in cooking a thousand meals if they are all going to waste? Instead, I would rather offer them, and as an additional benefit they might bring a smile to someone's face…"
A sensation of warmth spreads through your chest. So it really was a gift. You feel even more like a dick: here she was simply being nice to you and this is the thanks you give her. "My bad, Kanaya. I didn't think-"
She interrupts you: "Do not worry. You were not thinking this through. I am not resentful."
You pick your fork back up and poke once at the grubcake on your plate. You observe it for a second before cutting off a bite-sized piece and lifting your gaze back up to Kanaya.
"Are you sure you're not hungry?" You joke to lighten the mood.
"You must mean thirsty."
"Yeah, sure." You answer with your mouth full.
"Hmm." She scratches the back of her head. "I would rather not frighten you with the truth."
Your arm suddenly freezes in place, interrupting its trajectory towards your mouth. Your eyes are locked on her, carefully watching her every movement. "No… I'm not scared. Do you think I'm a wiggler?"
"I must admit I am not fully sated right now. This is no reason to be alarmed, after all, you know I am more than capable of self-control. When dawn comes, I will able to find the nutrients I require."
"Doesn't Rose help to keep you fed?"
"I would rather not impose this taxing responsibility on her. I am not entitled to her energy to sustain myself. Besides, human blood is regrettably not as filling. It's critical that our exchange remains on a voluntary basis, therefore I hunt the other times. Like tonight, I will eventually need to go hunting."
"What about our movie day? I've made a whole list of human romance movies we needed to see together. You can't leave me hanging."
"Well, we will not watch them all day, will we? I can depart after."
"Whaaaat!! Then we won't have time to see everything, it's impossible. I thought when you said you would be spending the day with me, you meant you would stay here the whole day so we could catch up…"
"My apologies, Karkat. I should have had my feed yesterday, then I would have been more than pleased to spend the entire day with you… Alas, I must leave before dusk. Unless…"
"Unless what?" You arch an eyebrow in confusion. Her eyes pierce through you intently, as if you were made out of glass. Suddenly, your stomach turns into a knot as you realize her implication and you jump from your chair. "No, NO, NO. Don't look at me like that. Absolutely the fuck not. You can find another feeding machine elsewhere."
"Machine? Karkat, I already informed you that an agreement of this kind would never become contractual. Further, it would just be this once."
Your skin turns pallid, your heart racing, your breaths shortening. The mere thought of your blood being drawn is enough to make you feel faint. "Why???? Why would you ask me of all people? You know I hate that shit, I can't stand it. Ask the first troll you cross on the street for all I care."
"It's truly not as terrible as you envision it. You need not look at it."
"N-O, no."
"Very well then, it was merely a suggestion: I can also leave earlier if you prefer."
"You know what, we can even postpone this to another day when you're well-fed! Then we'll have plenty of time to get through my marathon."
"So you will send me home expeditiously after I travelled all the way here?"
On second thought, you really did not want to throw her out like an old dishrag. Not only would it be impolite considering the travel time, you'd lose on precious time spent with your moirail. There were plenty of movies you were so excited to show her. A compromise needs to be made: "Fine. We'll just begin tackling the list and you can leave when you need to. We can continue another time, I guess."
Kanaya seemed satisfied by this answer, as she was also eager to spend most of her day with you. After you cleaned your plate and placed the rest of the grubcake in your fridge, the two of you moved to the living area. After you inserted the first CD into the reader, you both crashed on your couch.
Throughout the next few hours, you got to fill her in on some of humans' classic romance movies. Her experience was even better than that the one she could've had at any movie theater, since she had you to guide her through the lore and to point out any detail that might've escaped her. But soon enough came the fated time of her departure: "As much as it pains me to say, this was my last one, Karkat. I really must leave now." She straightens her back, ready to get up from the couch.
"What? But you're going to miss the scene where Jack and Ennis reunite!!"
She sighs. "Very well, my other offer still stands, whichever you prefer."
"It doesn't seem enticing to me in the slghtest."
"I would be very gentle, Karkat. We can go as slowly as you need. You can trust me on that." She assures you, looking at you intently.
You take a deep breath. You really feel like she would miss out on one of the best moments in movie history if she left now. As much as you did not want to get your blood drawn, if it was the only thing that could get her to stay and complete the marathon with you… Besides, if there's anyone you can trust to reassure you throughout this terrifying process, it's her. She's always looking out for your safety and she's never let you down so far.
After a moment of reflexion, you concede: "Fine, just make it quick. So how do we do this?"
"Oh I am so glad." Exalted by what she just heard, she bounces off from the couch. "Wait for me just one minute, I will return shortly."
She doesn't leave much time for you to dwell on your worries, soon enough she comes back with a damp rag and adhesive bandages. She places them on the coffee table and sits down next to you.
"What if… mutated blood is dangerous to drink?" You ask. "What if it's poisonous for rainbow drinkers or something…?"
"I cannot be certain until I try it, wouldn't you agree? There is a first time for everything. And I am willing to attempt the experiment. What if I am missing out on something grand?"
"I don't want to make you sick."
"You will not make me ill, Karkat. I will interrupt my drinking if I notice something goes awry."
You're not so convinced by her reasoning, frankly you'd rather your moirail does not put her life in jeopardy for any type of experiment. But if she really does want to go through with this, who are you to stop her?
"Alright. What next?" You ask impatiently.
There was an awkward silence before she leaned towards you and dropped off the faintest kiss on your temple. You suddenly feel warmth rushing to your cheeks and ears, and you bring your hand up as an attempt to cover your embarrassment. She smirked smugly as she noticed your flushed expression.
"You seem to have excellent circulation." You're too disconcerted to come up with a smartass response to her jab. She uses this opportunity to gently kiss your neck, which sends shivers down your spine. "I have been longing to try candy red." If she wanted red, she got it: your face is as red as a tomato.
"Ah, do you really need to go for my neck?"
"You wished for me to be quick. This is the fastest way. I could always take your arm but it would require twice as much time. Besides, you will see less blood if the puncture wounds are on your neck."
You grimace at the thought of an extension for your predicament. Neck will have to do. "Okay, fine."
Her teeth graze against your skin and it makes you shiver. You brace yourself, your breaths shallow and your eyes shut.
"Shh, relax… Do not worry, you will be fine. I will let you know when I start." She rubs your back. You're trying really hard to calm down, but your hands are shaking and you already feel nauseous. Moments pass before she leans back: "On second thought, you should lie down on the couch."
"What…?" You reply in confusion, opening your eyes. Truth be told, you were so lost in thought that you completely missed what she just said.
She stands up. "Lie down on the couch. It will be more comfortable for you. And in case you feel ill, you will already have adopted the correct position to recover."
You lie down, putting yourself at ease. You take a deep, shaky breath. You don't notice Kanaya rolling up the bottom of her skirt up to her knees until she has already climbed on top of you and is straddling you. Your embarrassment reaches new heights.
"Kanaya…? Are you sure about this? This feels oddly… intimate."
"I must find a comfortable position as well, to make it easier on both of us. I am seeking time efficiency. Are you ready?"
"Hm-hmm." You confirm.
She holds one of your hands, hers feel cold albeit comfortingly soft.
"Are you certain? I would appreciate a complete answer."
"Yes, I'm ready."
"Do not hesitate to let me know if you need me to stop." She hovers above you, closing once again the gap between her mouth and your neck. "I must warn you, it will pinch a little."
You move your head slightly to the side to give her more space. She presses her lips against your skin once more. Your heart is pounding like it's going to bounce out of your chest.
"3, 2, 1…"
A sharp sting sinks deep into your neck. You shut your eyes and grind your teeth, trying to drown it out. With each heartbeat you feel your blood coursing throughout your body. It's one of the strangest sensations you've ever felt.
Kanaya lets go of your hand, instead cupping your face so it stays in the right place. Her thumb gently rubs against your cheek, as if to comfort you.
The pain begins to subside after a minute. You start to ease into it, as your body comes to understand you are in good hands. Your jaw loosens and your breaths grow deeper. You dread opening your eyes however, fearing they would get a glimpse of a bloodbath. You think you'll keep them closed until she is done.
Soon enough you feel the intrusion in your neck fade out, as she pulls out her fangs with a relieved sigh. Suddenly, you feel something moist being pressed and gently rubbed against your neck: she is cleaning your wounds with the rag she had so thoughtfully brought earlier.
"It is over now. Are you alright, dear?"
"Yeah…" You take it as a signal to open your eyes.
"It was not so terrible, would you not agree?" She now presses the rag onto her chin, wiping away the candy red blood that had dribbled on it. You can't look away.
"I guess it could have been worse."
She takes two adhesive bandages and carefully sticks them over your puncture wounds. "Know that your help is greatly appreciated: I feel much more energetic now." Good for her. You, on the other hand, are quite frazzled. At least you'll have plenty of time to recuperate on the couch while you two resume watching your movie marathon.
She leans down to press a kiss on your forehead, causing your cheeks to become lightly flushed. She gets a good look at your face as she sits back up. "I see I have not stripped you from all your colour." She chuckles.
You frown, partly annoyed partly amused by her antics. "You're having way too much fun with this."
"That I am. You look so adorable when you are flustered." She hops off the couch. "Wait a moment, let me take care of this."
She leaves with the rag in order to rinse it out in the sink. You manage to sit up slowly on the couch in the meantime. You feel slightly nauseous. You hold a hand to your forehead as you attempt to recollect everything that just happened. It all went by so fast. Well, you did ask for it to be fast, didn't you?
You notice Kanaya coming back from the ablution block and she sits beside you, placing a cold hand on your back. "It was delectable, Karkat, perhaps even better than my current favourites, teal and indigo. I was lucky to have your permission to try out this rare commodity."
"Rare is the right word. Don't let it become a habit because you might not get permission so often."
"Of course, and I respect that. Although I must point out… You do seem to imply this might not be the last time, is that correct?"
"Ehh…" You scratch your head. As nerve-wracking as it was to get your blood drawn, you did enjoy Kanaya's gentle, close-up attentions. She made you feel safe. But you're definitely not ready to admit this out loud just yet. "I mean, I'm not saying no, so take it however you will. Just tell me beforehand, okay? I don't want to plan anything important right after."
She's grinning from ear to ear. "I will ensure that I let you know. Remember that it is always your choice in the end. You can back out if ever you are not willing anymore. I can handle myself just fine."
She gets up, motioning to the CD reader. "At any rate, where were we? Which movie should I insert next? Would you like something to drink? I can fill up your glass if you would like. Are you cold? Do you need a blanket?"
You look at her adoringly, a coy smile on your lips. Oh, how lucky you are to have such an attentive moirail.

Trivia:
Phecda is afraid of blood (hemophobia). Whenever she sees a drop of blood, she passes out immediately.
Phecda is also afraid of hospitals (nosocomephobia). She only visits hospitals when one of her kids is sick.
During her life, Phecda adopted five children: Crucis, Kochab, Melano, Haruno and Vulpec.
Phecda has a bit of an accent. Her accent is soft/tender and you would probably not recognize it. She can still pronounce some words wrong or make it short: ‘Speak’ -> ‘Spik’.
Phecda was working in the Brooding Caverns before, but left the job after she realized she had no more obligation towards this place.
When Phecda was younger, she had a pretty cool silver motorcycle with bear paws on the sides. Later she sold it to someone and bought the farm.
Relationships:
Matesprit - Married/Taken - 💀Death and Life🌱
Seyfer. They have known each other for a long time, so long that they can’t imagine living without each other. Both of them went through a lot of stuff, knowing all the problems, secrets, weaknesses, likes and dislikes, day routines, etc. They love each other deeply and it will never change.
Moirail - Got interested in someone. 🐶
Kismesis - Open!
Auspistice - Closed. (Doesn’t have a time for this)
Out of quadrants:
Acquaintance - Eingal (@.dracoinfernous). She knows her as Crucis’s girlfriend. She is very happy to know that her daughter is happy with Eingal.
Acquaintance - Velcor (@.dracoinfernous). She doesn’t talk much with him, but she is surprised that Melano likes him and sees him as an older brother.
Acquaintance/friend - B (@.askthefantrollcast). Whenever she sees B, she always wants to give him the cookies, so he would never feel hungry again. She’s glad to see him being all happy and healthy and wishes him the best.
Acquaintance - Arided. Phecda never interacted with other jade, but is aware of her and her kid, Ghosty.
Acquaintance - Ghosty. She is glad her daughter has such a good friend. She always gives them extra cookies whenever they ask or not.
Acquaintance/Client - Maluss. He is a regular client in her bakery. She always keeps the last cheesecakes just for him.
Acquaintance - Nautic. She is happy to know that Kochab has such a good friend!
Old friend - Nuriko. They were pretty good friends in the past and have a lot in common. Unfortunately, they stopped seeing each other and lost the connection.
Acquaintance/Nuriko’s sister - Hildri. She was upset about her break up with Crucis, but she is not going to blame her.
Acquaintance - Pavoni. She knew them as Crucis’s babysitter, but, now, she knows them as a famous writer. She buys their books to support their career.
Friend - Gienah. He was one of Seyfer’s friend, but, now, he is an old family friend. He visited their hive often in the past, but at the moment he visits them on the holidays.
Crucis - Phecda never ‘officially’ adopted Crucis as she had her own lusus, but she still sees her as her own daughter.
Children - She loves all her children, even if some of them cause a lot of problems:
Kochab - One of the first kids, Phecda adopted. She feared she would spoil them, but he grew up pretty responsible.
Haruno - The third adopted kid and the most mysterious adoption Phecda had in a while.
Melano - The second adopted kid and the most hostile. He gets the most attention and probably the most spoiled out here. Phecda gets a lot of complaints about him from school.
Vulpec - The fourth and the last adopted kid. She is the youngest kid in the family and the 2nd chaotic kid in the family. Phecda is trying her best to keep Vulpec out of trouble for most of the time.
Backstory:
Phecda has been chosen to become Mother Jade, head of the Brooding Caverns, by the facts of her early hatching from the main group in Brooding Chamber, as well as that she was born much bigger than average grubs and she was perfectly healthy.
MotherBear was responsible and trustworthy lusus for raising a ‘perfect’ jade through the generations with her unusual methods, and so older jades chose her to be Phecda’s lusus. When she took little Phecda under her wing, she gave her the first lesson: ‘enjoy your time while you can’.
Her second lesson was to go outside, away from Brooding Caverns. Their small traveling was full of different and amazing places and food. MotherBear tried to show little Phecda everything in a small amount of time because she already knew: ‘it would be her first and last memory of the outside world’.
MotherBear left Phecda in caverns when she turned 2.31 sweeps (5 y.o.).
In Brooding Caverns, Phecda went to a school that was specially built in caverns. The purpose of it was to teach young jades: reading, writing, speaking and, of course, knowledge of the outside world.
Phecda’s grades were really high in elementary school. She was one of the best students and was praised a lot by teachers for her fast learning and hardwork. Every time some kid failed, they were compared to her, causing other kids to go against Phecda, making her classmates despise her.
They bullied Phecda whenever they had a chance: talking bad behind her back, pushing her down the rocks, ruining her notes with water, putting bugs inside her lunch and so on. Some of them avoided and ignored her whenever she was near, but later on joined the bullying.
Phecda was very hurt by this behavior and tried to tell teachers about it, but they didn’t blink an eye on it, letting the bullying continue. It caused a lot of stress to her, but the thoughts of becoming a MotherJade in the future, always calmed her down and inspired her to do much better. If she becomes a MotherJade, then no one is going to bully her, right? That’s what she thought.
At that time she met an old jade that she loved to call Granny Sun because of her white glow skin. She was the only one who treated Phecda well and could listen to her and give advice. Phecda learned a lot from an old troll such as: knitting, sewing, drawing, singing, origami, and cooking that helped her to improve a lot in creative classes. She considered the old troll as her family and only family she had at that time.
MotherBear returned back to caverns after 3.23 sweeps (7 years) when Phecda started middle school.
Everything went downhill after her return.
MotherBear insisted to make Phecda’s school program much harder as the reason for it was becoming a ‘perfect’ jade. She started to raise her in stric atmosphere where nothing is allowed, only best results. MotherBear forbade Phecda to visit the old troll as well as forbidden contact with anyone, except teachers. It was her third lesson: do not distract yourself, work harder.
The results weren’t great.
Phecda fell behind in studies. The program she was studying was much harder than the usual school program for young jades. It was impossible to keep up with everything at once for Phecda. She felt pressure on her from teachers and her lusus constantly, feeling as time is running through her fingers like sand and having mental breakdowns each time the alarm rang in the morning to remind her about the hell she was in.
Before she knew it, she broke the statue of the previous MotherJade after another breakdown. Phecda was punished for the first time.
MotherBear was disappointed in Phecda, in return Phecda was despising ‘her lusus’.
Every time Phecda did something wrong or break, she got punished. Each time she saw a ruler or the sticks, she went into panic mode and couldn’t control herself at that time, feeling pain on her hands and back.
Phecda was exhausted.
When Phecda was 7.38 sweeps (16 y.o.), she started high school and got a part-time job as a janitor by MotherBear’s suggestion. It wasn’t the nicest job, but every ‘perfect’ jade started like that, right? She studied and worked 24/7 with one free day each week. The endless loop of work and study.
And one day Phecda just snapped.
She ran away.
Somehow Phecda found the way to the exist of caverns and for the first time, she saw the outside world. Phecda ran into the woods where she bumped into a lazy guy named Seyfer, her future husband.
Phecda and Seyfer were opposite to each other.
She was hardworking, patient and serious while Seyfer was lazy, hotheaded and reckless. They both thought they would never become friends…
But slowly and surely, meeting in their small hideout every day, their dislike and suspicion for each other turned into a strong friendship. They don’t have much in common, but they couldn’t leave each other in danger. Phecda and Seyfer teached, comforted and supported each other; learned from each other and shared their problems, secrets, weaknesses, ideas and dreams with each other.
Later on, the promise was made: ‘When we overcome our fears and finally move on from our pasts, we should cut out something as a symbol of getting free.’ Phecda promised to cut her hair and Seyfer promised to cut his horns in return.
Phecda dreamed of leaving the Brooding Cavern as soon as she became an adult and Seyfer’s encouragement motivated her and made her think a lot about this decision.
But the dream came true faster than anyone expected it.
The old troll, Granny Sun, all of sudden died during her work. Phecda was devastated by this news. After all, the old troll was a family to her, even if they barely interacted during middle school and high school, she was still the only family member she had and now, she is gone. Phecda was regretting not visiting her and talking with her enough, blaming the teachers, studies, work and, of course, MotherBear for all the pain she got during her childhood.
She was ready to say ‘goodbye’ to Granny Sun at her funeral, but something went wrong during it. The next day after the accident, Phecda saw the group of jades, dragging a big black trash bag with something inside somewhere far from the main cavern tunnels. Suspecting something bad, she followed the group deep down the caverns and happened to find a place she never knew existed in the first place. It was a dark place with only candles lighting the tunnels and some kind of colorful liquid on the walls. It made Phecda suspicious even more.
As she was heading towards the last room, she sensed something really terrible ahead.
And she was right. It changed the view on her own caste drastically.
The same group of jades she met before, were cruelly drinking the blood from the body of Granny Sun before ripping the body apart and eating it.
It made Phecda terrified.
She immediately ran away, not looking back at caverns and jades yelling at her, crying hysterically. She will never return.
She wouldn’t be able to drink blood as a rainbow drinker anymore.
In the secret hideout, Seyfer met Phecda in distress. Phecda told everything that happened in caverns, crying and sniffing in his arms. He did all in his powers to calm her down, letting poor jade stay in his place as long as needed.
She lived in Seyfer’s hive for a long time, for about 3.23 sweeps (7 years), before moving to the farm. In between those years, Phecda lived a life of being a daredevil: getting in troubles, joining the gangs, riding the bikes and so on. She couldn’t dream of a better life than this, even though her ‘friends’ told her a million times - it was a bad idea to live like that. Phecda didn’t listen to them and ignored all the advice she received. Seyfer tried to tell her to be less chaotic and be careful, but he knew that she needed to understand it herself rather than just force her to stop it. Of course, after another ride on her motorcycle, Phecda got in a car accident by her own fault. In the hospital, she was forced to go full recovery: physically and mentally, giving her a fear of hospitals in the meantime. Thankfully, Seyfer visited her everyday, so it was bearable for her.
Seyfer and Phecda were moirals at this time of their life, but they knew it was more than a pale crush. Seyfer was the first to confess his feelings towards her, and so she happily agrees to become matesprits.
After recovering fully, Phecda sold her motorcycle and bought the farm where she is living to this day.
Later on, she was assigned to work in the other cavern as the old one was shut down by HIC. Phecda didn’t know the details, but she was relieved by this fact. In the new cavern, Phecda felt so much welcomed and safe, that she started to like to work with grubs again. She worked here for about 2.31 sweeps (5 years) before she left the job after one accident that happened to her.
In between of these events she adopted five children, got new friends, married Seyfer and got her own bakery.
Life was rough for Phecda, but she overcame every obstacle and now, she is living happily with the most important trolls in her life - her family.

One of my favourite aspects of Alternian culture, one that I think gets overlooked a lot even though it has hilarious implications, is that Earth counterculture is a rough equivalent to Alternian culture and vice versa. In essence, Alternian goths are the equivalent to Earth preps, and vice versa.
Now, this has hilarious implications over a wide variety of fields. (Like, are Alternian rainbow drinkers super peppy and happy-go-lucky? What’s Troll Twilight like? Are trolls terrified of Squiddles?) But I think it has the funniest implications when you consider it from the perspective of the main characters.
John is basically the everyman. Karkat is basically his inverse. He is edgy and grumpy and an outcast. This essentially makes him the Alternian version of an everyman.
In a similar way, Meenah and Feferi are both in rebellious teen phases. But, because Beforan culture is more similar to Earth’s (I assume), Meenah’s rebellious phase makes her resemble a more classic Earth punk, while Feferi’s rebellious phase makes her resemble a,,, uh, a Disney princess. I have to make a meme about that now.
If you look at it from an Earth perspective, Rose is the edgy goth with a normie gf. If you look at it from an Alternian perspective, Kanaya is the edgy goth with a normie gf. Also, Equius is the Alternian equivalent of the jock prep with a goth moirail. Yes, Nepeta is the most goth (in Alternian terms) character in Homestuck.
There are two commonly held perspectives on Kanaya: she is either goth, or she is the mom friend. Now, these two perspectives aren’t often held simultaneously, but the fun bit about Alternian counterculture is that it implies that in order to be goth, you must also be the mom friend. We also see that Kanaya has a great deal of respect for her lusus. This is another facet of her being countercultural.
To sum up, this concept needs to be addressed more, it’s a shame that it’s not.

Ok so I’m gonna go ahead and spit ball some Hiveswap theories despite the fact they may end up being incredibly wrong as expectations vs reality for the writing of Hiveswap is currently 6 feet under. This is going to be a long one, so to save y’all time the theories will be under the cut.
First off I’d like to state my own theory on the creature that that shot the train in the ending scene. Everyone is believing that it’s Fiamet’s lusus that did it, but why would Fiamet send her lusus to potentially hurt/kill Joey and Xefros especially knowing (or maybe she doesn’t) that Xefros is Dammek’s moirail? Honestly it wouldn’t make sense, given that she was the one that warned Joey about the world ending in 11 days. If it does end up being her lusus then she has a lot of explaining to do. Cause it kinda makes her a villain by hindering Joey’s and Xefros’ travel. Though I don’t think it’s Fiamet’s lusus. Here’s what I believe the beast could be-
1. The monsters from the first game.
We don’t really know the origin of the monsters from the first cut scene in Hiveswap act 1, and I don’t really think it’s all that much discussed. So where did they come from? Perhaps it was to do with something to do with the portal? Maybe. And we do know that the monsters can come in many varieties, including a monster with wings. (Though, more so bat wings compared to the feathered wings in HS:A2 final cut scene)
2. It’s someone else’s lusus. Okay, so I’ll actually be going into depth of how the beast looks like in the final cut scene. And with everyone theorizing that Fiamet’s lusus being an axolotl, I’ll try debunking the “Fiamet’s lusus shot the train” theory.
First off, the beast doesn’t even remotely look anything similar to an axolotl.
Let’s first look at the couple of screenshots I have (apologies for the bad quality)-
Does that tail look anything like an axolotl’s?? The answer is no, but of a course.
Here’s how an axolotl’s tail looks like btw.
Here’s some more screenshots of the beast that I managed to get-
Now, I know what you’re thinking- “But Erifin! Look at the side of the head! It obviously has external gill stalks like a true axolotl!!” That could be a red herring, though, as the things protruding from the side of it’s head could be fluff or feathers. And even it is gill stalks, and it IS an axolotl then why does it’s body look so different than that of an axolotl? Maybe because axolotl’s abilities of regeneration? It kinda seems far-fetched, to be completely honest. But who knows?
So who does the lusus belong to then? Well, maybe there’s going to be a new troll introduced in act 3 that will serve as act 3′s main antagonist Or maybe it’s just a wild lusus that itself will be the main villain.
So now it begs the question, what could this be? Well here’s some ideas I thought of:
1. It’s a weird lizard/amphibian and bird hybrid. It’s not the crazy for there to be a lusus like that, this is Alternia after all. I’m also getting some chameleon vibes from it. Though, this may be relating to the mythology of feathered serpents. Which, by the way, is a spirit deity from mesoamerica. Roughly around the same area that axolotl’s live.
2. A griffin. And yes, I’m bringing up mythological creatures into this. If the Pyropes can have dragons as a lusus then other trolls can have other mythological creatures as lusi as well. The body and proportions fit nicely to that of an griffin, even the tail! However, griffins don’t breathe fire so it’s unlikely that this is a griffin.
3. A chimera, to me this seems like the most obvious choice, sense chimeras are already hybrids to begin with, as if number 1 is true technically this theory is gonna still be true (at least somewhat). Chimeras in mythology are a mash of an lion, goat, and snake, and I’m sure if the crew wanted to make creative decisions they’d also add in some avian wings in the mix. The proportions are similar to that of a lion, the fluff can also be it’s mane. The need to be on a rock, and keep low to the ground could a be a mix of a predators stalking skills and the serpent part. The tail? Obviously the snake head. Oh, and chimeras can breathe fire as well. However the goat part has me thrown off, so who knows if I’m even right.
4. And finally, number 4, I was somehow wrong. Somehow this was Fiamet’s lusus all along, and somehow it is an axolotl. Who knows, we probably have to wait another 1000 years to find that out.
That’s it on the beast theory, now let me ramble a little longer about certain hopes I have about certain characters that may end up becoming more important in act 3. Particularly the trolls that show up in the final cut scene. That is- Martsi, Cirava, Lanque, Tyzias, Elwurd, Mallek, Ardata, Chaut, and finally, Marvus. Now why would they be important? I don’t really know either, but I can sure take a fucking guess! And given that the train fell into a river, I guess one can go ahead and guess that many of the trolls on the train did die. And given that the train was shot near the rust/bronze and gold/olive carts I think it’s safe to say that the most fatalities are going to come from the lower bloods and not so much the high bloods (high bloods are tougher to kill after all).
Hopefully all the troll call trolls end up surviving the crash, but considering hmmm y’know I don’t think it’s likely. But, one can keep their hopes up! However, I do think the certain set of trolls that did show up in the final scene will survive. But why? What will they do that will earn them the chance to live? Let’s get into that.
Martsi’s up first. She was the closest to the blast zone, so there’s a chance that she ends up dying later on. However, if she does live, and from what we have seen in her friendsim (regardless of whether or not friendsim is canon) she seemed to take interest in being a doctor. So I can see her trying to look for survivors and tending to their wounds.
Next is Cirava, I don’t really know what Cirava would do, perhaps they decide to join the rebellion after being convinced by Joey and Xefros. Especially given that Xefros is starting to gain more confidence and thinking for himself for once. Meaning Xefros may go around trying to recruit some trolls to join him and Joey. Or maybe it has to do with something with psionics? Though, that would mean all other gold bloods are dead or passed out. I hope Joey and Xefros do get a party of sorts while they travel I think that’d be fun!
Next is Lanque and Tyzias. Tyzias is a little more obvious, her want to change the system, especially the judicial system, could lead to her joining the rebellion. If Xefros and Joey are trying to recruit others she’d probably join in a heartbeat. Lanque is a little more complicated, I think he will die, but will come back as a rainbow drinker. He does have the title as a life player after all. I think he will die either because the crash killed him, or he died saving someone. I can imagine if the other jades do survive, they’d probably be very shocked. Personally I think Wanshi would take it the hardest as I believe he’d protect her, thus showing us a softer side to him. And as they mourn him he comes back! And it’s very much shocking for everybody! As a monster of sorts he may end up deciding to leave since he’d no longer fit in, since he’s technically dead. He could also take it as an opportunity to finally be free from his duties. His glow/immortality can even come in handy in certain parts of the potential game play.
Next are these two, as for what they’ll do honestly I think Elwurd is just there for fanservice and Mallek? Well, he may help with certain electronics if all the gold bloods besides Cirava do die. Like he takes apart certain parts of the train to make something? I do think they may want to join Joey and Xefros, but Mallek for rebellion moreover then Elwurd given we don’t really know what Elwurd’s loyalty lays.
And then there’s Ardata. She looks very suspicious, no? She may end up becoming a more important villain in act 3. Overall, she looks very...............shady.
And finally, the two eldest clowns. I don’t think they’ll join Joey and Xefros, rather I think they’re still going to be villains. Perhaps they decide to hunt Joey and Xefros down? Maybe they think they’re the ones who crashed the train?
That’s all I gotta say, I don’t think any of my theories will end up becoming true anyways. But hey, one can dream. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed my rambling, and apologies if my writing is terrible and there’s grammatical errors everywhere. But what do you think? Let me know!

5 - My funniest muse
It's a toss-up between Karell and Tantor for me. Both have a good, healthy sense of humor and are in a committed relationship with the bit. However, if I have to choose just one, I think I'd give it to Tantor because his kind of humor is primarily poking fun at himself while Karell's humor is making other people look bad.
14 - My muse that has suffered the most
You have to ask??? XD My poor sunflower butterfly Florah has endured the most shit out of everyone on this blog.
A dying psychopath (And I mean that not as an insult, but an actual diagnosis; she ticks all the boxes) manipulated him into bonding their souls together so she wouldn't fade away when she died.
Said psychopath then tricked him into letting her control his body for one night, only for her to refuse to give it back.
Then as part of her hostile takeover, destroyed his hive and killed his lusus, his matesprit, and all of his friends so she could have a clean slate to live the life she wanted. All while he was made to watch helplessly from inside his mind as everyone he loved was murdered with his own hands.
Two sweeps later, he tried to kill himself so he would be free of her control, but it failed and she was able to stop him. As punishment, she stripped him of all his emotions except for the few she deemed acceptable (happiness, compassion, basically just the positive ones) and made him a slave in his own body.
After getting him killed and breaking the soul link, he was unable to function and actively suicidal for over a sweep before resigning himself to staying alive because his moirail kept thwarting his attempts.
Speaking of his moirail, he very nearly killed her after she initially rescued him because Baby Rainbow Drinker Instincts took over.
As a direct result of all the bullshit above, he has Major Depression, Social Anxiety, Generalized Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Depersonalization Disorder, and Complex PTSD.
Sooo yeah. No one has suffered more than he has. :')
20 - My most ill-tempered muse
Another toss-up, this time between Corali and Shadah. Both have a temper like Yosemite Sam and operate under "Attack first, maybe ask questions if they're still conscious/alive" logic.
Actually, I think I might give this one to Corali. Shadah, for all her bluster, is more bark than bite nowadays after sweeps of having a stable and loving matespritship and moiraillegiance to mellow her ass out. She'll still fight a bitch, but not as readily as Corali. Corali will flatten you out with minimal provocation (Which Thiomi is trying to curb).

The Cancer King's Court ~ The Mourning Mother
Kanaya Maryam/The Mourning Mother
This Kanaya got her happy ending.
She made it to Earth C. She married the woman she loved, started a functioning moralliegence with Vriska now that she’s genuinely interested in bettering herself, and set up a peaceful little home in the suburbs. She got John to do her a favor and take her to a God-Tier bed. No one knows for sure how long Rainbow drinkers live and she wants to spare Rose the heartache.
After a few years of being happily married, the couple decides they want a baby, so they adopt a beautiful baby girl. With Rose’s help, Kanaya makes her way through this strange thing humans call motherhood.
Young Stacey Maryam-Lalonde gives her poor mothers many scares growing up. Rose took a photo for all of then.
Rose gave her an eldritch tome when she was five. She ended up summoning a horde of the undead and Kanaya had to cut down hordes of zombies at three am. Rose agreed to wait until she’s older to give the book back.
At age eight, Stacey convinced her teacher to read The Call of Cthulhu to the class. She got suspended. Rose gave her daughter a lecture, even if she was a little bit proud.
At age ten, Stacey met her first bullies. That was the day everyone at school learned that she had a scary vampire goddess for a mother. Her bullies would never forget.
“My dear, are you certain that you didn’t go overboard?”
“You Would’ve Done The Exact Same Thing.”
“…Touche.”
At age twelve, she had to spend the week at her Uncles John and Karkat’s house. John enlisted her to help him prank Karkat. The resulting prank war burnt the house down and the two had to stay at the Maryam-Lalonde household for the week. How those two made it to adulthood, neither Rose nor Kanaya would never know.
At seventeen, Stacey graduate from High School on the high honor roll. During there ceremony, Kanaya whispered to Rose, “This Is The Best Gift You’ve Ever Given Me.” They cried. A lot.
Then cane Stacey’s eighteenth birthday.
It was a camping trip. Jade had nanaged to get Stacey interested in outdoor exploration, so she took her truck and brought her friends out into the forest. Kanaya wanted to chaperone, but Stacey insisted she could handle herself.
“Don’t You Summon The Undead Again Young Lady.”
“Moooom, I was three! I’ll be fine.”
“I Know, I Know. …I’m So Proud Of You.”
While exploring, Stacey discovered a fridge, covered in chains a locked shut.
…Then she discovered the troll inside.
It took three weeks for them to find the bodies.
Rose and Kanaya were never the same after their loss. Their friends did all they could. They paid for the funeral, offered their condolences, checked up on them whenever they could find time. Vriska moved in just to help Kanaya keep her head up. She did everything she could to be there for her moirail, even if she didn’t fully understand this motherhood thing. Even if she didn’t fully understand what Kanaya lost.
Rose turned to drinking, and that was the beginning of the end. After a painful, gradual decline, Rose and Kanaya agreed to separate until Rose can get her addiction sorted out. As Rose leaves her wedding ring on the table, Kanaya has one last thing to say.
“No Matter How Long It Takes, I’ll Wait For You. Because, No Matter What Happens, You’re The Woman I Fell In Love With.”
When the authorities reveal they have a lead on Gamzee, Kanaya decides to take her grief out on him. Vriska tries to warn her against it. She’s been there before. Angry, bitter, and pissed the hell off. But revenge blackens the soul. She learned that the hard way. Kanaya doesn’t listen.
She thought killing Gamzee would give her some kind of relief. Lift up some of the burden. At least, it would make her feel better. But… it doesn’t.
Instead she feels… empty.
She ignored her moirails advice. Her wife is still gone. And Stacey is still dead.
She thought she’d feel better, but now she’s just more lost than ever.
She sits alone with her thoughts and soon finds The Cancer King sitting down next to her.
He promises her her family back, and she agrees.
She sees the atrocities she’ll have to commit abd she agrees.
She sees who Karkat has become and she agrees.
Kanaya is… scary. She’s not the mad zealot that Gamzee is. She’s not carefully trying to avoid going to far, like Terezi or Eridan. She’s just… focused.
She takes no pride or joy in what she does. She never wanted to hurt anyone. But she will have her daughter back.
Kanaya’s relationship with this Rose is… weird. Kanaya is the oldest member of the Court next to Karkat while Rose is one of the youngest. Kanaya knows her Rose intimately, while this Rose hasn’t even met her yet. Kanaya tries not to spoil anything for her sake, aside from a few quips along the lines of “I Am Quite Sure You’ll Make Whoever You Marry A Very Happy Woman” and such. She’s pretty pissed to learn that this Rose did basically nothing wrong and still lost her timeline, so that’s some extra motivation in her tank.
You’d expect Kanaya to be pissed off with Gamzee. But… she’s not. She’s just cold and distant. It’s not like killing him in her timeline got her anywhere. But she’s still curt with him and avoids conversation. Gamzee asks some of the others what her deal is, but they only give him the basics. It’s not their story to tell. Still, Gamzee puts the pieces together and actually finds himself sympathizing a little. He gets this strange, distant feeling that he might know what it’s like to be a parent in a different timeline…
She remains good friends with this version of Terezi and Vriska. She apologizes to Vriska for not heading her advice and Vriska returns the sentiment. They all bond over shared fuck ups and The Scourge Sisters are happy to hear there’s at least one timeline where Vriska managed to turn her attitude around.
Similarly, she has a decent relationship with Tavros. Tavros finds it odd how Kanaya found her revenge unsatisfying when Tavros absolutely revelled in his.
Kanaya eventually discovers that Karkat could simply revive Stacey right now if he wanted abd tries to demand that he do so. He refuses. The King makes himself clear: you’ll get your daughter back after you help me and not a moment before.
In Kanaya’s mind, she has to agree.
“…I Am Bringing Her Back, Rose. I Do Not Know… How Much It Will Cost Me… But I Am Bringing Her Back. …You Will Always Be The Woman I Fell In Love With. I Just Hope I Am Still The Woman You Fell In Love With When I Return. …I Love You.”
