“i want to be good. life’s just not letting me.” from 2x12 because while i know it has been said sarcastically, i think that’s the core to jess’ character. he wants to be good, life never let him to be good. no matter where he would end up people would look at him at this trouble maker boy, would blame him for things he didn’t even do, and i hate it for him because he is so so good, he is.

kind of reminds me of the pjo musical (one of my all time favorite musical in fact) that in the song good kid like those part are so jess coded it’s insane (and while percy jackson is definitely my all time favorite character since i was like 9 and i’m 23 now so…. i loved percy for 14 years?) ANYWAY

Hiccup was a bad leader in HTTYD 3

I was so disappointed with Hiccup and Toothless' leadership in HTTYD 3 so I decided to post about this separately.

First, Hiccup deserves grace. His father was murdered a year prior and he's still relatively young. However, he's not except from criticism.

Putting dragons before Berk

I think this is a holdover of Hiccup's adventurous spirit from HTTYD 2. Why is Hiccup spending so much time rescuing dragons when he should be focussing on being chief? From HTTYD 2, Stoick made it sound like a demanding, full-time job. How can Hiccup be a decent chief if he immediately rushes off at the first sign of dragon hunters? It's so irresponsible to put his life on the line like this, especially when he has no heirs yet.

Overcrowding Berk with dragons

I have only seen clips from the tv shows. But HTTYD 2 shows us that Hiccup knows a ton of discovered lands. So, why is Hiccup bringing all these dragons to Berk when there are so many nearby lands where they can be housed as well? Hiccup's nonchalance 'We'll find room' was just so infuriating. How is Hiccup so freaking dumb?? Way to take your subjects' complaints seriously Hiccup!

No defense strategy

Hiccup is aware that bringing all these dragons makes Berk a target. So why are there no preparations being made to defend the dragons and Berk? Hiccup has all these dragons so use them damn it! Train them to defend Berk so they earn their keep instead of being freeloading nuisances! Instead of building those colourful abominations in the intro scene, build walls and towers. Build defensive traps. Coordinate with ally tribes. Do something! Which brings me to my next point:

Hiccup in HTTYD 3 is a coward

A bit harsh, I know. But I don't care. Yes, Hiccup was naive in HTTYD 2 and Stoick paid the price. I understand that Hiccup needs to be cautious and pragmatic. But Hiccup's first and only strategy is to run away from the Grimmel threat to some fairy tale land. He doesn't respect that Berkians are willing to fight for their homeland. It's funny how the Berkians don't seem to fight anymore after the first movie. It's like after the dragon queen fight, they decided to leave all the fighting to the youngins and their cool dragon armor :). Why does Berk not have a dragon rider army? Then, Hiccup decides to give up fighting altogether at the end of the movie because it's too hard. Hiccup is fine with settling down on that rock called New Berk and giving up on everything he fought so hard for as a teen. He doesn't consult with Astrid, Gobber, his mom or anyone else before deciding the dragons need to leave. What an inspiration.

I just hate how Hiccup was treated in HTTYD 3. I love this dork so much and it pains me to see how his story ended. I wanted better for Hiccup. From the little I have seen from the tv shows, I can't picture those Hiccups acting like this. My heart aches for Hiccup and Toothless. Oh well, at least New Berk was an upgrade at least :(

Haah.... If Haruka does something, whether he succeeds or not, Kotoko now knows we/Es knows. I can already hear it "You let this happen. You knew it was gonna happen and yet you didn't do anything to prevent it"

We knew because he promised it to us on his VD, and he confirmed it on that TL conversation. But before Kotoko could only theorize, now she has confirmation on both: that we knew about Haruka's promise and on us being able to listen their conversations.

She knew Es was watching over them, thats how they "got attached" and she already knew that's how they worked, trying to understand them, to get to know them, as to choose if forgive or not forgive. But this showed her that even a quiet and secretive conversation can be heard, even if not to it's totality.
