long answer: got to the arrogant disco ball, facing several issues. one, i need to get my stats up (mainly phys and vit) because luci has a full heal he can pull off at any time in chronicle and i’d rather not have to resort to mp drain shenanigans. learned suparna is op actually, need them to learn prayer, randomly mutated zandyne into debilitate despite me originally not sure if i wanted them to have it but since the last time i tried hunting for debilitate it took a few hours i’m letting them keep it. need more incenses for stat boosting the team to lessen the grind. my adhd hates grinding sessions this is what keeps me from finishing games sometimes. dunno when the next update will be, destressing somewhat by writing fanfiction and trying to finally beat the spearmaster campaign in rain world (spent a lot of time trying to tame a red lizard for funsies before it got blown up). still have been enjoying the run!!! nocturne’s combat system is fun despite it being broken in a few areas :)

she HAS a platform. she has over 2.8 million instagram followers alone. and this is what she chooses to prioritize, to push. there really is no excuse anymore, especially when you’re from one of the countries continually backing israel and voting no on intervening with their despicable terror! there are resources EVERYWHERE including constant updates on gaza, debunkings on the lies western and israeli propaganda are spreading, insights into the entirety of the apartheid, information on palestinian culture and values, on the true history of israel, holy books… what excuse is there to really be had at this point besides blatantly prioritizing your own comfort over the lives of thousands of occupied and terrorized and murdered people?

Care level- 

Advanced. Only for the most experienced Bitty caretakers, especially if one is human. 

They often have mental issues similar to Ptsd which can cause them to lash out in stressful situations. They are also prone to anxiety, depression, and dissociative states. 

It can be recommended to pair Guerrillbys with other monster Bitties to help with anxiety or depression. Surveys and research experiments found Gaster or Undyne Bitties to be the most helpful.

Guerrillby’s need stability and security in their household to function to their fullest. Its recommended to give them their own sleeping or rest areas out of sight. 

Keeping a regular schedule and habits are important for this bitty. So much so they may become stressed or depressed if their regular schedule is displaced. THey may be able to help remind you if you struggle with time management, but developing a bond first is key. 

They are wary, if not aggressive, towards Human beings or Bitties. Caretaker should be aware and make arrangements if one owns such Bitties and/or is a Human themselves. Special training may be needed in more aggressive cases.

Height- 

4-8 inches, averaging 6. 

Diets- 

Regular human/monster food is fine. No special dietary recommendations.

Caretakers should be aware that due to high magic concentration and value their regular food consummation is twice that of an average bitty. 

Magical abilities- 

Similar to that of a G!Bitty, Guerrillbitty’s utilize flame magic and fire attacks. These Bitties usually have a higher power rates and more Mp to consume. They also seem to have fighting ability with shields and swords. 

Personality-

Guerrillbys are usually the cool and silent type, but caretakers should not be fooled. They have a warm interior they only show to their closet companions and are often anxious about how they appear or worry about what they seem like to others around them.

Relationships-

As stated in care these bitties have a hard time getting along with human type Bitties and Non-Bitties. This can be remedy with time, but fresh from adoption they can be volatile and easily stressed out.

These Bitties have a hard time getting along with children, in bitty and non-bitty sense, and pets. They generally have a neutral outlook towards the elderly, but is willing to sit and listen to stories or spend time with them.  

Guerrillby’s can be a mix bag when it comes to other non-human Bitties. SOmetimes they may reax skittishly, other times they may become aggressive. Caretakers should watch any interactions between their bitties until they’ve settled.

Interests and Disinterests-

Guerrillby’s have a significant interest in cooking related activities. Such activities can be utilized as a destresser and to bring stability to their life and the household.

Guerrillby’s have been known to enjoy dances, but will become embarrassed if they are seen.

These bitties prefer high energy level hobbies and activities, but might need help to unwind afterwards with low engery activities.

Other Helpful Facts-

As flame elementals they cannot touch water as it will harm or even kill them.

When adopted each guerrillby is given plastic Armour, a foam shield, and a foam sword. Please do not separate them from these items. They are given as a ‘security blanket.’

Unfortunately due to their fighting prowess they are a high target for Bitty Fighting Rings or tournaments. Caretakers be aware and supervise any activity outside or around other people. Kidnappings have been known to occur.

Shooting Sports: What's in The Bag?

I've been making pictures for over two decades now, and I still work on improving my photography every day - and improving the gear I use. I have found sports to be the most demanding field I've ever worked in, it being tougher - and ultimately, more satisfying - than even chasing wildlife in the Florida Everglades.

Any good photographer will tell you that you can get great pictures with any decent camera, and when I started covering cycling races, I had just come back from a short photography hiatus with a new-to-me Nikon D80. It marked my return to DSLRs after having sold all my Canon gear some time before. The D80 got me hooked on Nikon, and I sold a bunch of good photos from it, but I kept on "trading up" until I got to the kit I use now. My biggest reasons for upgrading included faster autofocus, weather-sealing on the body and lenses, and a more usable ISO range.

So what do you see me shooting with now out at races? I am a hardcore minimalist, but I still use two camera bodies, one with a wide lens and one with a telephoto. The Nikon Z 6 has become my primary camera - a big surprise to me, considering how many people want to talk down its sports capabilities. I may think differently about it if I were shooting 150mph race cars or motorcycles, but it does extremely well when photographing cyclists whizzing past me at 30+ mph.

My Nikon 70-200/4 VR is almost always attached to the Z 6 via the clunky FTZ adapter. The 70-200 is a staple in almost every sports photographer's bag, and that's why I resisted it for so long - trying to be different, but I was going about it the wrong way. I now see why this incredibly versatile lens is so damn popular. I picked the f/4 over the f/2.8 because of weight. Endurance sports are the only sports I shoot, and they are almost always out in the open and in the daytime - so I don't really need that extra stop. And after running from one end of a criterium course to the other all day while carrying almost 30 pounds of gear, I realized I needed to lighten up the backpack. The secondary body is one that I had wanted even back when I was still shooting Canon, having been released in 2012: the Nikon (former) flagship body, the D4. Tough as hell, and it shoots 11 frames per second - rat-tat-tat-tat! Ergonomic even with its considerable heft, it looks and handles the business. Mated to a Nikon 16-35/4 and hanging from a Peak Design Slide strap, it's really not bad to carry around.

The 16-35 is the newest addition to the kit, having traded in my beloved Nikon 16mm fisheye and the utilitarian Nikon 24/2.8 lens I used for a while. I don't get the awesome distortion from the 16-35 that I did from the dedicated fisheye prime, but then the same distortion could easily become gimmicky at times. So the fisheye stayed in the bag more often than not. The 16-35 gives me that amazing wide-angle perspective I love, with a very useful zoom range.

Rounding out the lens selection, I held onto my Nikon 300/4 with a 1.4x teleconverter, for when I really need more reach. It's a cracker of a lens, but it has made less appearances at race courses since I have had the 70-200. What else is in the bag? Snacks, tons of batteries, a Think Tank Pee Wee Pixel Pocket Rocket case for all the memory cards, a Think Tank Hydrophobia rain cover for the unpredictable Sunshine State weather, a Nikon SB-900 flash, and a few other odds and ends. A rugged WD My Passport SSD hard drive serves as a backup and storage for second shooters. The pack itself is a Mindshift Gear (Think Tank again) MP-7 v2.0 backpack. It's pretty light and fits everything just right, laid out in a way that makes sense for an active outdoors photographer.

Finally, hanging defiantly from an exterior zipper is a French keychain of the lion mascot from longtime Tour de France sponsor Crédit Lyonnais, to remind me of determination and pushing past limits; just like I can always ride my bike faster, I can always make an even better picture.

Sad update on future of Darwin's Throb Nightclub

Long-running Darwin gay nightclub Throb, which shut its doors last year, has been placed into liquidation.

Australian Security and Investment Commission’s website listed the liquidation earlier this week, signalling the end for the venue after more than 20 years.

Last year, the LGBTQIA+ nightclub was forced to close in the Northern Territory capital city due to building issues.

Throb’s future has been uncertain from last September after the building housing the club, as well as a restaurant and cafe, received an emergency order from Territory authorities.

The NT’s Building Control identified fire and safety hazards related to the building’s walls and concrete slab.

Now Throb Nightclub has been placed into liquidation after the venue’s directors on Wednesday voted to wind the company up, the Daily Mail reported.

Tarquin Koch Accounting and Insolvency Services was appointed as liquidator. A spokesperson said Throb’s directors worked with the NT government and their landlord to try and rectify the building’s safety issues.

But sadly they weren’t able to do so and as a result, Throb Nightclub couldn’t trade.

“They can’t trade due to the orders made on the actual building, which they are a tenant,” the spokesperson said.

Last year, Throb Nightclub announced on social media the long-running nightclub’s closure “until further notice”.

The team explained the emergency order “stemmed from the removal of a supporting wall in the tenancy below ours.”

Throb owner Tim Palmer told the NT News at the time he agreed with the Building Control decision and was devastated the hazards could have led to a “catastrophic” and “life-threatening” situation.

He said the building’s structural issues also included extensive water damage from heavy rain last year.

Throb Nightclub opened in Darwin in 2000

Owner Tim Palmer and his business partners opened Throb Nightclub in 2000.

They wanted the inclusive nightspot to provide a safe and welcoming destination for the Top End’s LGBTQIA+ community.

The nightclub celebrated its 20th birthday in June 2020.

At the height of the pandemic, due to the low rates of Covid in the NT, Throb could reopen and allow dancing while the rest of the world locked down.

Many of Finland's Wednesday morning newspapers carry the figure of 11.5 billion euros in their headlines.

That's the amount of additional state budget Petteri Orpo's (NCP) coalition government intends to borrow following the completion of its budget negotiations on Tuesday evening.

This is a substantial increase on the initial figure of 10 billion euros, presented to the media by Finance Minister Riikka Purra (Finns) at the end of last month. It is also more debt than the previous government of Sanna Marin took on in its last budget — a move that was sharply criticised at the time by the then-opposition, now-governing NCP and Finns parties.

Helsingin Sanomat writes that both Orpo and Purra described the current outlook for the Finnish economy as "very worrying" as they unveiled the updated draft.

"We have big challenges, but we are taking determined steps to turn the ship around," Orpo said, one of several maritime references made during the press conference, HS notes.

The 1.5 billion euros discrepancy between the August draft and the new update can be explained by downgraded economic forecasts — and lower-than-expected tax revenues — from the finance ministry, HS writes.

The paper further notes that interest rate increases are likely to see the government's debt servicing expenses rise by more than 2.5 billion euros compared to last year.

Now that the four coalition partners have agreed on the terms of the draft budget proposal, the document will be submitted to Parliament for debate and a vote by MPs.

Autumn has been slow to arrive in Finland this year, with summery conditions lingering in the air longer than usual, but many papers note it will land with a bang on Wednesday.

Tabloid Iltalehti writes that the Finnish Meteorological Institute's (FMI) map of Finland is almost entirely orange and red on Wednesday morning, due to the number of weather warnings in place.

The warnings predict strong winds of up to 25 metres per second around the capital region as well as in the east and southeast of the country.

IL has taken to the streets to survey the damage, which at the time of writing includes a fallen street light in Helsinki and damage to a petrol station forecourt in Laitila.

Ilta-Sanomat is also live-streaming the incoming storm, writing that the strongest gusts and heaviest rains will hit the capital region around 9am.

IS further notes that snow has fallen in the north of Lapland on Wednesday morning, with a reader's photo seeming to confirm Finland's 'first snow' of this season.

Helsinki airport returning to normal

Ilta-Sanomat also reports that ground staff workers at Helsinki Airport will return to work on Wednesday, following a sudden walkout on Tuesday afternoon.

The action led to Finnair cancelling dozens of flights on Tuesday afternoon and evening, causing congestion and chaos at the airport.

IS writes that the walkout was a spontaneous reaction to an unexpected decision made by Finnair to no longer sell low-cost airline tickets to employees of partner companies.

"The ticket offering had been seen as an employment benefit. Now that it's gone, it can be a pretty significant increased cost for those who travel more often," Aviation Union chair Juhani Haapasaari told IS.
