#I SAY PERSONAL BC ITS MY OWN SPIN ON IT. NOT CHIPPERS CANON UNLESS THEY DECIDE TO OR NOT YOU HEAR ME /LH #I made a banner and everything this time. PLWEASE send them your questions not me JAJFHDSF #I thought it would be cool if macaque has two separate forms as a shadow and inside a mindscape. like I wanted his shadow form to reflect #him in his prime and then the mindscape form as what he looked like when he died. or a more vulnerable state at least #based on LBD appearing to MK as the ivory lady when she died in the S3 special. I don’t know exactly what it was but my first thought seein #the white void was she was appearing to MK in his mindscape to talk to him. so I built on that #I wanted to give him a more ‘Smokey’ look as a shadow just based on how he manipulates them in the show like in shadow play. I hope this #makes it look cool and immaterial. and then his mindscape form would be more battered up and tangible #the last couple images are chippers ideas though since they said the monkeys are drawn to MK when macaque is possessing him lol #and the fact that macaque doesn’t have any senses unless he’s possessing someone + literally sniffing out wukong in the scroll 🤨📸#I also have a vivid image of macaque moving from the mindscape to physical form like umm. kind of like when he passes the boundary between #physical and spirit/mind(?) it’s like the shadow covers him like ink. or pulling Saran Wrap over your face and it clings to your skin #so it kind of makes the shadow seem like a sort of shell or covering.. and I love the idea of MK meeting macaque in the mindscape for the #first time too. like the moment mac rescues him from LBD and MK sees him all battered and tired looking brooooooo #I’m not even sure if that would count as a mindscape but it rattles around in my brain like loose marbles #god I fucking love this au. gives me imagination fuel swear to god #my art #doodles #lmk #Lego Monkie kid #Monkie kid #lmk au #re-bound!au #rebound au #lmk sun wukong #lmk swk #lmk macaque #lmk six eared macaque #lmk mk #lmk xiaotian

do y'all think Macaque is falling back into the role that Azure and the others put on him by remaining on the outskirts of the group because he thinks his input/presence is unwanted (and yeah his presence isn't really wanted by MK and the others BUT. something about the fact Macaque is placing himself at the edge of the group, the edge that Azure and the others pushed him to, doesn't really sit well)

#Monkie Kid #lego monkie kid #monkie kid spoilers #lmk spoilers #im gonna be completely honest: i think the only reason Mac HASN'T apologized is cause he thinks they wont listen to it #so he's trying to do things WAY more subtly and it's NOT working out #and when i say ''he thinks they won't listen'' i dont mean he thinks they won't forgive him #honestly the group would be split 50/50 between ''forgives him'' and ''suspicious but willing to let him try''#i FULL OUT mean he thinks they won't listen. that they won't even hear his apology and will just talk over/ignore him #or completely misinterpret what he's saying #THAT'S what he thinks #when he was being the villain he was putting on a show. it's HILARIOUS how obvious his actions are a front when you rewatch s1 and s2 #but like?? being actually him?? he does NOT expect them to listen to him when he's just himself #sort of like a. ''if you want people to listen you have to anger/frighten them into paying attention'' kind of mentality #not a good mentality to have #it DOES explain why he reacts Like That whenever someone does something that indicates they DID pay attention though #like. listen hear me out. i do NOT think Macaque expected MK to remember the Warrior thing.#so when MK brought it up it hit him like a truck #also why he reacts like that when Wukong somewhat seriously answers his ''you know this is just the calm before the storm'' question #+ when Wukong says ''we''#cause he does not consider himself part of the group. hence staying on the outskirts #GOD this guy is such a delicious pack of trauma to dissect. thank you lego for giving me not one #not two #but THREE traumatized monkeys to analyze

Macaque would be happy if his final death was due to wukong turning around.

Macaque main motive is that he wants to be important to wukong, friend or foe, he wants to matter to him. I truly feel that in canon, macaque is less mad about his death, and more mad that in the end he was nothing to wukong. Season 5 he hears indirectly wukong trusts him, he matters to him, and he jumps to the rescue. So yeah, having evidence in the end that he matters, would comfort him.

yes, it would comfort him, but Macky is also way too aware of the other relationships Wukong has compared to their own. he would be comforted by the fact that he is still someone Wukong would fight for and turn back to, but by s5, Macky recognizes and respects Wukong's relationship with MK

#possibly contrasting how he didn't respect swk's relationship with the pilgrims in jttw #in my mind: i see mack's anger from the sacrifice not being a 'oh you trade your life NOW' but rather a 'there are OTHERS out there for you #he appreciates it truly #and he is way too self aware to understand how much this means to him and swk #but also he's of the attitude that this should not be about him #does this make sense?#i know this concept is laser focused on shadowpeach #but i feel like there should still be an acknowledgment of mk because of how close he is to swk #like in s5 mac gave swk an opening to trade HIS life in mk's stead #while everyone else was grieving mk. mac was grieving swk #idk i'm sorry if this is derailing from the concept #shadowpeach #asks #lmk #lmk sun wukong #lmk six eared macaque

That's very subjective!

For me personally, I'm totally fine with how it's played out. We get enough tidbits every season/developments with their dynamic that I'm pretty content. I also just think that when the time comes, how they choose to reveal that information to us (and especially to MK) will have optimal impact!

#but maybe it's not pacing that works for you and that's fine #the experience of pacing is subjective by nature #alright *puts on conspiracy cap*#to me it seems like they're wanting to throw another wrench into MK and Wukong's relationship next season #s4 was so heavily focused on Wukong's flawed past and there was a lot of buildup about his and mac's relationship in the s4 special #and then s5 had a lot of weird hints/info #specially with the stone/nine or whatever #and that weird wukong nuwa framing in 5x08 #And 5x01 kinda lampshading Wukong knowing about MK + his reincarnated friends #Like feels weird don't it #(WHICH. He could totally have not known about MK. But I still wanna learn more about why he wanted a student in the first place)#There are so many directions next season could go #But the direction I hope for most is really continuing 5x04 stuff #Like idk I personally feel like we didn't fully unpack Monkey MK. In certain aspects anyhow #And it's like omg 2 seasons later and we finally resolved the to pain scene!!!#But we haven't really resolved like. ''Hurting the people who care about you the most'' aspect of it. The 3x10 and 4x08 parallel #So like the hurting each other angle. Only Acting by Kero Kero Bonito!! I want to make an animatic for Macaque using this song and some parts of Shadow Play and the s4 special.. although im still mapping it and deciding whether I want to use the radio edit or not lol
