1. Wildflower - Billie Eilish

The new album is still growing on me, but this has been the track stuck in my head. Billie’s voice, the emotion with which she sings… gets me right in the feels!

2. Floodlights on the square - Boston Manor

This song came up in my recs on Spotify after @klynnvakarian recommended I check out Movements (thank you!) and it’s been a hidden gem that I’ve fallen for! 🫠

3. Desire - Meg Myers

Thanks to the lovely @makeshiftdraco I have this song at the top of my Saurondriel playlist. LORD HAVE MERCY, this song has me by the fucking throat. 🥵

4. Rosebud - Man-Made Sunshine

I was late to discover Conor Mason’s side project, but better late than never because HOLY FUCK. This song lives rent free in my brain. His voice, the lyrics, that chorus! 🫠 Y’all know I love Nothing But Thieves, but I am so thankful he created this. ❤️

5. Time :: Fate :: Karma :: God - Nothing But Thieves

Speaking of Nothing But Thieves… I couldn’t not include one of their songs here. Especially because it’s been just over 3 months and this is still my favourite song of the fucking year. I love how the lyrics fit perfectly into the DCC vibe/aesthetic. But man that CHORUS!!!!!! They did not have to go that hard - but I’m so happy they did!! The way this song makes me smile… good lord. BANGER.

Such an amazing show by the ridiculously talented @megmyers at @elcorazonseattle. I also really appreciated how open she was about her physical and mental health. I wish more artists would bring to light their own physical and mental health challenges. If you have the chance, go see her live.
