Malleus Draconia x Gn!Reader - Isekai AU

I’m back finally, this will probably be quite short but whatever part 1, part 2, masterlist

Malleus followed you. He couldn’t help himself. To him, you are the brightest lantern on a moonless night. He would be the butterfly that can’t help but be enticed and drawn to you. But you were quick. Just as he reached you, you were in a room with the door already closed.

“Insolent child!” Malleus pauses, quickly noticing it’s not your voice. Instead, it was your father’s. “How can you not do the one thing I ask of you?!”

“But-”

“Shut up! You had a chance to do it!” Your father hisses. “My brother was an idiot, having a child with a commoner. I suppose, if he couldn’t do anything right, neither could his child.”

“Hey-!”

Slap. Your face stings, and your voice goes silent.

"Now, there will be consequences for this failure and disobedience."

Your 'father' pauses. "You and Prince Malleus will have tea together in three days. I think you know what I expect to happen." As he says that, he takes out a small vial. Though it’s far away, Malleus knows what’s inside. Poison.

Malleus wants to go in, to hug and save you from that monster of a 'father'. But he heard Sebek, one of his bodyguards, who despite having trust in you, very little, little trust, would arrest you(and your father) for treason. So Malleus leaves before he can be spotted.

When Malleus took you to look at the stars that night he saw your injury, he tried to comfort you. He also wanted to ask many questions and questions. Varying from ‘Has everything been fake?’ or ‘Are you okay?’ and ‘Will you really kill him?..’

Over the next three days, Malleus does several things. 1) Not tell Lilia about the assassination. 2) Try to keep you away from your ‘father’ and at the palace. 3) Clean up the ball, and finally…. 4) Prepare to be poisoned and meet the female lead..

When it was time for you and Malleus to have tea, he was prepared. While saddened at what he knew what was going to happen, he was still grateful to see you. You had been avoiding him. His eyes light up as he sees you, though they dim slightly as he sees your father is escorting you. Your ‘father’’s grip on your shoulder seems tighter than usual. While Malleus is trying to not swat that traitorous hand straight off your shoulder.

“Why are you here, Duke?” Malleus asked coldly.

“I’m just here to look after my lovely child.” Your ‘father’ said ‘lovely’ as if he was trying to convince himself as well.

“I’m sorry, but you weren’t invited. Now why don’t you leave before you offend me more than you have already.” Malleus ordered. With that, your ‘father’ stepped out, seething at the power Malleus has over him. Malleus then showed you to the flower gardens, where there was a table and chairs set up.

As you and Malleus sat down and started a conversation, he notices that you seem upset.

“Are you okay?”

“Hm?” You seem slightly surprised that he asks “Just…looking at the flowers.” You gesture to the plethora of different colored flowers surrounding you and Malleus.

“They are quite beautiful, aren’t they?” Malleus responds, looking around at the flora, calmly smiling.

“Yes, they are.” You answer, still not meeting his eyes. Despite you avoiding his initial question, he doesn’t press on.

Malleus then picks up his tea cup, realizing the tea had been delivered. He blows on it slightly, as to not burn his tongue. He realizes something.

“Hm? The tea must have been placed when we were looking at the flowers, it’s not as hot as it usually is.”

“Yes, it must have been.” You murmur quietly, glancing down nervously at your cup of tea.

“Cheers.” Malleus holds up his tea cup.

You pause, then a small smile creeps upon your face. “Cheers.”

The two of you clink the glasses together and then put them to your lips. As Malleus takes a sip of his tea, he waits for the pain to hit. A whole paragraph was used in the original book to explain how the excruciating the pain was. Not looking forward to ‘it felt like the world was shutting down, and that everything inside was failing.’ But nothing..?

He’s then looks up at you and sees blood dripping from your mouth. Though a hand covers it, it also seems to be trying to keep in the coughs that bring the blood with it. But instead of a look of fear in your eyes, like the look in Malleus’, there is only sadness and resignation. Malleus’ felt like his world was shutting down as he saw you collapse to the floor, with an empty tea cup..

Yeah, surprisingly, I’m not dead. This is really short(I’m sorry), but I’m surprised I actually got this much done. Again, sorry if characters are ooc and hope you enjoyed.

I love villainess stories but I hate when some hack writers take the stupid direction of. the ‘villainess’ used to be/is seen as a HEINOUS BITCH but is actually clumsy/misunderstood/nice—however, the ‘protagonist’ is ACTUALLY a HEINOUS BITCH and everyone should hate her for real. like this is not actually subversive. this is nothing.

It's crazy how we've gotten to the point where brown hair automatically means Not-The-ML, it's crazy I've gotten to a point where when i see a ml with brown hair I'm on the verge of tears because oh!!!! Finally!!!! It's not black hair!!!! I'm tired of blond and silver hair too, but it's definitely not annoying me as much as black hair, like I'd rather the ML have any hair color other than black at this point

Duchess' Choice - Villainess AU

Based off of @yukidragon's Villainess AU headcanons, that are absolutely brilliant! I love villainess manhwas with all my heart, and the Sunny Time Town AU being added to the mix is even better because the AU as a whole needs more attention!!

May-Rose is a perfect cut out for a villainess isekai protagonist in my opinion. She's curt, standoffs, and can have a bit of a sadistic streak if she's feeling nasty - it usually never goes too far beyond some teasing and hazing, though.

In my "perfect universe" of what I would call the Sunnyside AU, Ian has inherited the role of Sunny Day Jack from an older Jacktor rather than usurping it by the studio. In this universe, May-Rose is the Cloudy-Bell Sue actress' daughter, and seeing as this makes her "television royalty", she'd automatically be offered a role on the show, likely as a supporting character.

Instead though, she chooses to be in the background, working on designing the set, the toys, and some of the promotional material.

And she loves it! She feels like she's playing an important part in all of this.

And another thing, Ian and May are engaged in this universe. Everything seems to be going well for her!

That is until she caught Ian cheating with an old flame in the backseat of his car. Skylar, her name was. Ian got caught up with her in theater school. It was a big hurdle in their relationship but he'd sworn to May that he wouldn't get involved with her again... guess old habits die hard.

In a fit of rage, May had stormed off set and drove away. She died in a crash shortly...

Enter the villainess, Midnight Bluebelle. At first, she was a one-off antagonist from the original series. A mime lady who mocked people with puppets and took toys from children. The new Sunnytime Crew Show would've been written with more complex situations in mind, and if May were on board with acting, she would've been cast as such and been a villain for a major arc. However, she was scrapped from the show and put in the promotional book series aimed at young girls and tweens: Duchess' Choice !

The OMC in Duchess Choice is a generic female lead to stand in for the reader. She's from a dwindling house, but boosts her standing in high society after returning Prince Jacks' special pin that was given to him by his father who's away on diplomatic business.

Her sudden popularity then attracts attention within and outside the castle, including that of the cruel Duchess, Midnight Bluebelle, who taunts and sets up various schemes to sabotage OMC's standing with the prince, whom she aims to marry after discarding her fiance, Ian Duff, the knight deemed Sir Sweet Dreams.

Over the course of the three books OMC balances other possible suitors such as the Glad-Pire, Sous Chef Sweetly, and Sir Sweet Dreams. Inevitably, the endgame is Prince Jack. And after learning of her crimes, Belle is stripped of her title and is exiled from the capital.

When May awakens as Belle, she's in the middle of the ballroom floor, having fainted either due to shock or a sudden illness.

She's tended to by her only living relatives, cousins Cloudy Belle Sue and her resentful father, Sam Sours of the Marquisate.

She's taken to her estate and takes some time to gather her bearings, taking note of the point in time before the story.

She and Ian have only been recently engaged, set up via Gretchen Duff as a way to keep Ian in check, so the first standing of business is to properly divorce him. Just because she remembers the woman she was doesn't make her blameless in Sir Ian's torment. She divorces him and makes a formal apology to him, leaving him perplexed and worried.

With the title of Duchess gone, Belle has gone back to being a Marquess. Naturally, this raises some eyebrows that the coarse and condescending woman would cut off a man so devoted to her without a second thought.

Sam definitely has some things to say. In his eyes, she'd blown off the best chance at a happier life even after she practically abandoned Sue and him. But Belle has a plan in mind. She decides... to open up a toy store!

Before Ian had gotten his big break, Belle as May had been struggling to make ends meet for the both of them. Part-time, she worked as a cashier in a yogurt shop. But she'd made a majority of her funds making gothic stuffed animals on her own time and from commissions.

Despite this being in a medieval European-like setting, and around this Era stuffed toys wouldn't have been invented yet, they coincidentally are! Because when you have a society full of clowns, you naturally make more fun things to do.

And that's just what Belle intends to do this time around, have fun!

(And if she can... avoid the OMC!!)

Kill the Villainess is incredibly interesting so far (i'm on chapter 10). The woman who got isekaid is a very gray character, who doesn't care much about anyone in this new world, all she wants is to return home and she will try anything within her power to do so, which is a nice change from the "villainess suddenly becomes a good person and makes the prince fall for her" that a lot of villainess isekais have going on.

But even more interesting than that is how the story goes about showing the things that the original book the FL got isekaid into didn't show, things the main character is discovering about this world as she lives in it, like the sorceress that didn't even show up in the original book, and the story of the knight who killed a dragon that was only mentioned in the og book. Every so often, the MC comments on how sloppy the writing of the original book was, how the villainess was just a plot device and not a full-fledged character... AND THEN we get a glimpse into the life of the original villainess, the people who loved her, the things she was doing before she got replaced, and how utterly exhausted and wronged she was feeling, going so far as to wish to disappear from that world. And, you know, she got what she wanted...

Highly recommend this series.

Because I've been reading too many Reborn as The Villainess mangas, I can't stop thinking about a self-insert fanfic where the oc wakes up as Alicent Hightower the day before her wedding to Viserys and decides to survive the story by living a life of luxury as Queen, preparing Rhaenyra for the throne, and ensuring that she never has children by Viserys because, in her past life, she was happily childless.

Besides, there's no way in hell she's going to have children with a man who murdered his wife for a son. No, the oc gaslights Viserys into not getting her pregnant thus regaining Rhaenyra's trust and sabotaging Otto's plans. Oc also worked herself to exhaustion in her past life and now that she's Queen in this life, she indulges herself in court while preparing Rhaenyra for the throne and using modern means to help Rhaenyra produce children with Laenor.

And while the oc is living her life in luxury childfree and helping Rhaenyra, Otto is seething and rocking back and forth while Daemon isn't sure what to make of Alicent Hightower's change in personality.

Just a humorous crackfic of a self-insert not involving herself in the usurpation of Rhaenyra's throne through common sense, logic, and subterfuge. The main characters are watching her relaxing and wondering what the hell happened to Alicent Hightower.
