Stolas' Conundrum~

What I love about Stolas' conundrum is how much of a lose - lose situation it is. By the events of Mastermind, there was no winning for Stolas.

Stolas has two people he cares the world about and can't live without: Octavia and Blitz.

Sinsmas ends with Stolas being disowned by his daughter for breaking the promise he made to her back in Loo Loo Land.

"Are you gonna run off with him? And leave me behind? Go away where... I can't find you?"

"What? No! No, no, never. I'd never do that. Never."

Here's the thing, as much as it would be nice to imagine a situation where Octavia happily runs to her dad and forgave him for everything he's done.

It isn't that simple because you're asking a 17 year old girl, who has always felt like an afterthought in every episode she's been featured in thus far... to forgive seeing this...

And her finding out that her father has been taking antidepressants throughout the entirety of her childhood probably doesn't help either, but I digress...

Sinsmas ends with Stolas being comforted by Blitz, but emotionally destroyed and drained from his loss of Octavia.

Stolas may have lost Octavia, but she isn't dead.

And as Blitz said, "... you just gotta keep trying."

But here's the fun part, lets say Stolas didn't choose Blitz. Lets say he chose Octavia at that moment and decided to stay for her sake.

After all, Blitz is a motherfucker~ He did break his heart in the worse and dumbest way possible. And remember by Apology Tour, this is what Stolas thinks...

"Oh, I don't think you meant to hurt me, 'cause I don't think it meant a thing at all." But the thing is that Stolas choosing Octavia, is essentially the same as saying that Stolas is okay with this...

That Stolas is okay with Blitz dying.

That Stolas would ultimately be okay with Blitz dying for the crimes that they both willingly took part in.

That Stolas would be ultimately fine with living in a world without Blitz in it.

But that's where I think people are wrong... Because the show and Stolas make it very clear that he isn't okay with that...

After all, Stolas loves Blitz a lot...

How could Stolas be happy, if his light dies?

Blitz smacking his head on the stone thing because he was annoyed at the idea of Stolas singing then singing the song with Stolas anyway kind of reminded me of the “dad: we are not getting a dog. The family: gets a dog anyway dad and the dog:” meme

Even though we all saw this coming thanks to the trailer, I still find such gags as this funny. ;) XD I just wonder if Blitz didn't use his Asmodean crystal to escape because it either wasn't working again or if his natural instinct/experience for dealing with the law is to just take the van and drive; I'm leaning towards the latter, especially since we know that he's been to jail at least once. ;)

OK so are we gonna talk about Stolas's potential diagnosed autism.

Ok so first clue I noticed in 'The Circus' little Stolas has am hyper fixation on plants and books. He is rather caml and openly passionate about his interests.

When you compare this too Stolas In Loo land he still cares for a plant that he had since he was younger. Stolas living plants never faded, in fact he just got more greenery.

Stolas is also shown too not be aware of his words like when he says "my big d#cked blitzy". This shows that stolas is some what unaware of how to greet others properly. This is parshly because of his lack of freinds in his childhood leaving plants to be his only friends.

Recently in Mastermind Vassago cheered for Stolas singing his truth. This stunned Stolas, likely because his father is shown to not care about his feelings.

Stolas is also shown doing alot of hand gestures and signs throughout the song. Showing how he finds it easier to communicate via sign language.

Stolas also has little stims like hooting and hopping when he's happy or trilling and hitting himself when he's sad. These little trills I can relate to because I share the same strims.

I know the next few episodes are about Stolas re gaining Octavia's trust but I hope he talks too Blitz about his autism.

So I rewatched Mastermind, specifically the court scene. It's interesting to observe this near constant back and forth between Andrealphus and Vassago. It's quite obvious they know each other. But it's unclear how well they know each other. Just how deep is the connection between them, I wonder?

When we first see them, Andre hasn't even started talking yet, and Vassago is already glaring directly at him. Andre might be looking at Vassago too, it's hard to tell, but it feels significant that they’re directly opposite from one another, on the opposite ends of the room. At this point nobody knows Andre is going to be in the spotlight, but Vassago certainly seems to pay attention to him. Therefore, he absolutely knows this bitch and he knows he's up to something. There is history between the two of them.

The "okay, Vassago, shut the fuck up" line is the most obvious implication about their familiarity. I also find it interesting how Vassago is the only one standing up to Andre and has no problem challenging him or yelling at him. And yet, after Andre's emotional burst, Vassago pretty much dismisses him, apparently knowing there's no point arguing with him. This also implies there is deeper familiarity between them.

After Blitz blurts out ”if I wanted to kill Stolas I would have done it myself” and unintentionally incriminates himself, Andre is looking directly at Vassago to see his reaction. And he smirks. At Vassago. Nobody else. Why does he need to convince Vassago of all people? 🤔 Sus. Also, when Satan sentences Blitz, it’s interesting how they show Andre and Vassago and their reactions almost back to back like that.

Idk it all feels very intentional. It feels like there’s a small story being told through these small details. At least to me it feels significant, because these moments show how they notice each other and watch each other throughout the whole scene, even when neither of them are in the spotlight.

So, what's up? Are they frenemies? Enemies to lovers? Lovers to enemies?? Lovers to enemies and back to lovers??? Ugh just fuck him and shut him up, Vassago.

Of course I might be reading too much into this (probably because I'm pretty desperate to see my silly ship together lmao), but I certainly hope the connection between them is more than ”they know each other from goetian social functions”.

Also, why confirm them as gay if this detail is not going to get explored in any way? Sure, the subject of their sexuality can be handled in many ways (and potentially never get "explored" in canon, as characters can just exist as gay without it being a big deal), and it certainly doesn't have to automatically lead to romantic storylines. I just find it interesting how out of all the goetias it's these two specifically that have been confirmed as gay (in addition to Stolas) - and Vassago's sexuality got confirmed before he even appeared in the show. Surely, that has to mean something?

....please?

tl;dr: I’m going to be really sad if there won’t be any sort of established (past or future) relationship between these two in canon. I really want to see more scenes between Andrealphus and Vassago.

tl;dr2: I really want them to fuck.
