Prompt 119
Another divine twitch chat Au? Another divine twitch chat Au. With a bit of a twist.
Billy would like to say it is in fact not his fault. It’s really not. Who hits someone with magic they obviously don’t know how to use? Well okay maybe he had done that before, but it’s not like he ever did it around other people where they could get hit!
But someone was an idiot and now he’s here, as his normal ten-year old self kicking his legs while sitting in the Watchtower as the others argued. Apparently the League thinks he’s been de-aged, which is good as his secret isn’t out.
The uh, issue is that something about the spell might have um, partially manifested the gods- or as he called them the Mediterranean Magic Men, if only because of how annoyed it made Zeus. Now everyone can see the chat that’s usually only visible to him and apparently it’s concerning.
He doesn’t see how it’s an issue, Zeus has been silenced for the next hour and Hercules has been dying of laughter for the last three. Oh, wait, it might be from Mercury’s constant attempted flirting with Flash. …Or the fact they’re trying to convince him to commit a crime and he’s honestly down for doing so seeing as he’s a homeless ten year old who is down for getting clairvoyance and super speed for the next thirty minutes in exchange…

Alright, now let's actually talk about X-Men 97 episode 9 *SPOILERS ALSO SOME RANTING INCOMING*
The results of Magneto's worldwide blackout
Uh, I think Magneto's omega level moment to stop the Prime Sentinels and the Spider-Man cameo got me distracted on what his EMP also did to the world, which is not good.
Yeah, so thousands have died because of this, mutants are being hunted down more than ever, and the world's gonna end in less than 12 hours. So....Magneto made things worse for everybody, mutants and humans.....god dammit.
So, because of this Magneto is also something to deal with as well as Bastion (even though this was all Bastion's fault and the mastermind behind everything, including the massacre, but okay 😒). This means he's back to being an enemy, which I don't like. He was doing good as a protagonist, and just for him to revert back to being an antagonist again?! I mean, I get why, I just don't like it. Even when, again, BASTION IS RIGHT THERE!!! *sigh* I guess with the time limit, they gotta deal with both of them and fix Earth.
Asteroid M again? Didn't Magneto try this before back in the previous show, and it backfired? In fact, he only recruited two others, which I'll get to later. Why isn't he saving more of his kind and bring them to Asteroid M? Maybe he just started and went to the X-Men first before going to find and rescue other mutants Yeah, as you can tell, I'm liking where this is going for Magneto.
Storm and Forge
THANK GOD SHE'S BACK! AND SHE'S BACK IN THE INTRO WITH HER BLACK OUTFIT TOO, I MISSED HER SO MUCH! 😭
Jubilee and Jean hugging her at different times was so nice. And, Beast and Forge greeting each other was nice too. Gotta cling to the good moments cause things get bad....REAL BAD.
More of Storm and Jean's sisterhood which was sweet. But, did they let her know about Nate being Cable and that it was Madelyn, a clone, that she interacted with during that timeskip before she left? Cause I feel like Storm needs to know about that.
As bummed out as I was that the two wouldn't confront either Sinister or Bastion, I do understand why. Storm's powers are great for taking out multiple targets, and we do need more moments with the two.
I don't believe their dead. It'll be total bullcrap for the two to reunite with the others as well as them caring for each other, just for them to die like that. So, yeah, they'll be fine.....they freaking better.
Still wish Forge contacted the rest of X-Factor to have a big team up and get some extra help.
More classic outfits
I do like some of them, like Storm's, Rogue's, Cyclop's (although, I'll miss seeing his hair), and Wolverine's brown and yellow.
However, I'm not a fan of Jean's Marvel Girl outfit. I like her 90s outfit that she had before better.
Also, Morph's outfit is just the yellow and blue but with big shoulder pads....why?
So, Roberto's a member of the X-Men now? So, he got an outfit too, but I wish we could've seen the buildup for him being a member. Last time I checked, he wasn't interested in being a member, but still hung out with Jubilee and became his boyfriend. The outfit's not bad, but it doesn't feel like it's been earned.
Xavier
*sigh* I'm probably the only one here that feels bad for the professor. But, I also feel like it could've been handled better. Have Xavier actually stay in contact with them while away. Have him still be recovering but still too sick to go back home. Hell, have him be in a coma! Many things in this show could've been done to give Xavier more of a reason why he wasn't there during that year time-skip instead of the black hole excuse.
Now, things are tense between him and Scott because he picked Magneto to lead the team. Okay, Magneto was doing fine, he was just more strict is all. Plus, I thought we were done with the distrust of Magneto after episode two.
Even Rogue is mad at him, which I get why. And, Magneto won't listen to him, which again, I also get why. I just where all this conflict is gonna lead to in the finale.
Rogue and Sunspot
So, those two chose Magneto, and not gonna lie, I got upset with that. When she was talking about leading the mutants at Genosha, I thought she rejected the offer back in episode 5, so I didn't understand what she meant by that. I get that she doesn't want to see more mutants die, but they're dying anyway and more are gonna die. I get that she's pissed at what happened, and she still has that anger and grief over what happened to Gambit, but when all this is done, where is she gonna go? Back to the X-Men? That is if there's still a team left.
Roberto.....okay, I get why he sided with Magneto, and I'm trying to like this version of Sunspot. But, I'm sorry, but I couldn't. Not after hurting Jubilee like that. Her being there for him wasn't enough after everything that happened wasn't enough. Plus, he has no idea what he's getting himself into. He's new to all this, he has no idea what Magneto has done or what he's capable of. So I was okay with Jubilee fighting back.
Rogue's choice made Nightcrawler sad....I hate seeing that precious blue elf devil man being sad. Thank god, we didn't have those two fight, otherwise, I'd be more upset. But, it was sad seeing her fight Wolverine cause the two are friends.
Also, she was wearing Gambit's coat....why does this show keep hurting so much?
Gold Team vs. Bastion and Sinister
So, Bastion really did love his mother. At least they kept that part of his backstory in this. I don't think she's dead, cause the Prime Sentinels should be alive, just not working. But, what happened to his father? Did his dad die? I've been noticing a lack of dads in the show aside from Scott.
Hulk cameo.
The fight scenes were really good. Especially Sinister vs. Jean. She was so bad@$$ in that fight. Although, I thought Morph was gonna confront Sinister too due to what he did to Morph. But, this is the Summers' family moment.
When did Sinister get control over Cable?! Well, apparently he did, and now he's forced to fight his kinda sorta other mom? At least we got to see his mutant power again.
Is Jean gonna die? Again? Cause, she and Scott are back in good terms in their relationship.
Well, the plan kinda backfired, but there's still a chance to turn it around in the finale.
Blue Team vs. Magneto
Okay, I know that Xavier tried to talk to him, but words ain't gonna reach Magneto anymore. Although, I did laugh when Magneto told him to shut up.
Cyclops disobeying Xavier's orders. Is that the first time that ever happened? Cause damn.
Not gonna lie, I thought Wolverine succeeded in killing Magneto. But, he probably should've kept stabbing and slashing or go for a more vital area. Maybe then Wolverine wouldn't have gotten....that at the end.
Yeah, the end....how freaking dare you do this to Logan! His adamantine ripped out of his body! He still has his skeleton, but to do that to him?! Just....WHY?!?!?!
I know this happened in Fatal Attractions in the comics, but it doesn't mean I wanted it to happen to him in the show! I feel so bad for Logan.
Also, WHY DID YOU BRING THE GUY WITH METAL IN HIS BODY TO FIGHT A GUY WHO CAN MANIPULATE METAL?!?!?! Did it ever come across their minds that this would've been a bad idea? I know that the writers want this comic moment to happen, but come on! Logan should've been with the gold team!
I think that's all I got at the moment. I made a post of potential outcomes for the finale from the comics at the result of what happened to Logan. And, I'm dreading what might come to fruition. As for the stuff with Bastion and Sinister, they gotta turn things around for that one. But, I'm worried that the finale will lead to a dark end instead of a hopeful one. The finale will have to make it or break it for me, cause I love X-Men and all this conflict and stuff is just hurting so much. I still like the show, and it's way WAY better than the What If series in the MCU. But, we'll have to see what happens next week.

Peter couldn’t take his eyes off of you. You moved so gracefully between the bodies of rich chatty folk. Now that you both were adults it was mandatory according to Tony that you guys had to attend these things. Peter wished he could go back to when you two would watch Star Wars and play video games up in your room during these boring parties.
“Dude, you gotta just grow a pair and ask her on a date,” Sam interrupted.
“Come on man. It’s not that easy,” he argued.
“Yeah it is; you just go up to her and say, ‘Hey I think you’re hot, I’m in love with you, Let’s fuck’,” Sam joked.
“Hey, no. They’re virgins. They don’t ‘fuck’,” Nat said amusingly.
“What! No- I- uh,” Peter stammered over his words heavily as Nat, Sam, Bucky and Steve laughed around him; not at him of course, well maybe Sam.
“Hey man it’s ok,” Steve reassured.
“Yeah, Steve is still a virgin,” Bucky joked, making Steve push him unamused.
“Seriously though, it’s ok having not done anything. Virginity and purity culture is gross and weird and way too fetishized nowadays. You do it when you feel comfortable and with someone you completely trust; and remember just like everything else, practice makes perfect,” Nat winked at Peter, making him blush.
Peter thought about it and honestly he trusted you the most with his life. It wasn’t a secret that Peter really liked you; well apparently it was a secret to you. He was so in love with you but he was positive you didn’t feel the same way. You were so beautiful there was no way in your right mind that you’d even look in his direction.
You were talking with some douche at the bar. Peter hated how close he was standing to you. He didn’t think he deserved someone as special as you but he certainly knew that someone like that guy didn’t deserve even your attention let alone a conversation. Although looking at it, it seems like you’re just listening and he’s yapping away.
“You’re like one of the hottest bitches I’ve ever met,” the guy slurred.
You’ve been stuck with this guy for the past twenty minutes. Every time you think you could slip away he tugged your arm and pulled you back in. this guy was drunk off his ass and every slurred word went through one ear and out the other.
“I need to use the restroom, excuse me,” you tried to leave.
“That’s not gonna work on me princess, come here,” he grabbed your waist and you moved your hands between your bodies.
“Hey, what the hell?” Peter said, noticing the commotion between you and that guy.
The guys looked over and saw that you were clearly uncomfortable and none of them were having it. Peter especially was fuming. This guy's hands were all over you and he knows you didn’t let him. His face buried uncomfortably in your neck and your face held a fearful look. Peter stomped through the crowd to help you.
“Hey man, get your hands off of her,” Peter said sternly.
“Oh, ho, ho. Cute,” the guy mocked.
“Lay off kid. Help a brother out,” he slurred.
“Peter,” you whispered desperately.
“She doesn’t seem interested, so back off,” Peter pushed him.
“I’m not gonna tell you again, kid. Leave us alone, sometimes women might not say what they want but they always want it,” he growled disgustingly. Peter looked at you and saw nothing but terror and fright; there was no way in hell he was leaving you.
“Hey, man. We’re gonna give you ten seconds to get the fuck out here,” Nat said intimidatingly; but with a man’s misogynistic ego that big he surprisingly didn’t back down.
“Now,” Steve’s voice boomed loudly towering over him.
“What are you gonna about it?” he mocked.
Bucky wasn’t having it either and grabbed his collared-shirt with his metal and dragged him towards the exit.
“If I ever see your ugly ass face again, I’ll kill you,” Bucky’s voice shook the man and he scurried away.
You looked at Peter and hugged him tightly softly crying into his shoulder. He held you tightly and whispered softly in your ear soothing you. You couldn’t get rid of him and you didn’t want to think about what could’ve happened if Peter and the rest of the guys didn’t help you.
“Sorry, for the ruckus,” you whispered, noticing the people watching confusedly at you guys.
“Don’t be, guy was a total piece of shit. Are you ok?”
“Can we just leave?” you asked him.
“Of course,” Peter held your hand tightly and led towards the elevator.
“Hey kids, you guys ok? Steve told me what happened,” Tony asked you two.
“We’re gonna go upstairs now,” Peter told him quietly.
“Of course,” Tony said remorsefully.
“Kid?” Tony whispered to Peter, “Use protection.”
“Seriously, Mr. Stark?”
“Hey, I’m kidding. I’m kidding; take care of her will ya?”
“Your room or mine?” Peter asked you.
“Yours.”
“Can we watch a movie or something?”
“Yeah.”
Peter gave you his clothes for you to change comfortably in and you went to the bathroom to change. In the meantime Peter too changed into a tight black shirt and sweats. Suddenly he heard the door open slightly and you peeked your head out worriedly.
“Uh Pete,” you called him.
“Is everything alright?”
“The uh, the pants you gave me? They don’t fit,” you whispered shyly.
“Oh no, uh ok hold on,” Peter scurried to find another pair.
You opened the door wider tugging his shirt in holes it might cover your modesty; this was the most undressed you’ve ever been in front of a boy. Peter looked back at you frantically but definitely did a double take seeing your bare legs so exposed.
“Sorry, I can’t seem to find anything,” he stuttered a bit.
“It’s ok, the shirt’s pretty long,” you tiptoed to the bed covering yourself with the blanket.
“Sorry about you know,” he sat with you.
“It’s ok. I just kinda wish I was more like Nat. You know then maybe I wouldn’t have been in that situation, I’d be able to kick his butt,” you chuckled. But Peter didn’t.
“Hey, you weren’t in that situation because you weren’t physically strong, it was because that guy was the scum of the earth.”
“Thanks, Pete,” you placed your hand on top of his; Peter’s stomach flipped when you did.
“Peter?” you asked him.
“What?”
“You’re staring,” you smiled.
“Sorry,” he looked away shyly.
You and Peter sat on the bed as a movie played. It was one of your favorites and you couldn’t help marvel at the best scenes; your laugh was infectious. Peter couldn’t help but ogle at you. He thought you were so beautiful and funny. He wonders why you’ve never had a boyfriend. Any guy would be so lucky to be yours; expect that fucker who put his hands on you
“Y/n?” he asked sheepishly.
“Yeah?”
“Why don’t you have a boyfriend? If you don’t want to answer it’s ok, I realize that probably sounds invasive, and-”
“It’s ok. I uh- I don’t know. I guess guys don’t like me like that? What about you, you haven’t dated since MJ.”
“I- uh, ok uh- Ok you got me there,” he laughed.
“It’s just I asked because you’re uh, well, it’s no secret you’re very pretty, Y/n. Any guy would be so lucky to be your boyfriend,” Peter blushed.
“Thanks, Peter. I don’t know, guys are just too,” you couldn’t necessarily find the words.
“Obnoxious, irritating, rude, aggressive,” he finished making you laugh.
“No, well, yes, but I guess the word would be… overbearing. Guys are so pretentious, you know. And not to mention they want everything but the kitchen sink in a girl. And I don’t have that. Guys don’t look at me and think, ‘Wow, she's the most beautiful girl ever. I want to date her’,” you explained with a faint chuckle.
“I think that,” Peter blurted out.
“Well, then I wish more guys were like you, Peter,” you said smoothly.
You and Peter both hadn’t realized the space between you two closing in. Your faces were mere inches apart and you both felt hot and flushed, yet neither one of your wanted to pull away. The sound of the movie playing in the background was drowned out for a second but now it was almost as if it was the loudest thing bursting your eardrums.
You quickly snapped your head back to the TV breathing out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. You could see the disappointment on Peter’s face when you did out of the corner of your eye but you didn’t think it was appropriate right now. Besides, the last thing you wanted to do was kiss a boy after what happened downstairs.
You crawled back and tucked the rest of your body under the sheets and Peter did too. You felt like your heart was going to burst out of your chest; terrified that with his heightened senses he could hear your heartbeat.
He could; and that made his beat faster too.
You two watched the movie in silence after getting yourselves comfortable. Peter’s lights were off and a small lamp along with the bright TV was the only thing illuminating the room. It felt small but you managed.
You felt like you couldn’t focus on the movie with Peter laying so close to you. You could practically feel his body heat radiating off of him and you wished so badly that you had the courage to tell him how much you liked him.
You didn’t think he liked you back but after what he said about wanting to date you, you weren’t so doubtful that he felt that way too now. You finally started focusing on the movie again trying your best to not think about Peter but that didn’t help at all considering the two characters … kissing, if that’s what you want to call it.
Your eyes slightly widen seeing the man’s hand crawl up the woman’s shirt. Her gasps and moans seemed louder than you remembered. You could see Peter shifted beside you as the things on the screen became more and more heated.
“I forgot about this scene,” you cringed at yourself.
“It’s ok, you uh, do you want to watch a different movie?”
“Sure,” you squeaked.
Peter put a new movie on but neither of you could get the images out of your heads. Without the other knowing, you both wondered what it would be like, feel like if Peter’s hands roamed your body that way. Bringing goosebumps to your skin. The way your soft gasps and moans would sound against the shell of Peter’s ear.
You couldn’t help the wetness pooling between your thighs wondering what Peter would do first. You wondered if he’d ever been with another girl and if he did, well that didn’t sit right with you. You swallowed and unbeknownst to you Peter could sense everything.
He knew how much your breathing quickened after. He could feel the rapid beating of your heartbeat after watching only seconds of that scene. He could smell the sweet arousal coming out of you as you softly clenched your thighs in a desperate attempt to stop the feeling.
He shifted beside you embarrassed that he was thinking about these things with you. You would hate him if you found out. But you would really?
“Peter?”
“Yeah?”
“Can I ask you something? Promise you won’t get mad?” Oh no. You were really doing this?
“I could never get mad at you,” he said sincerely.
“Have you ever, you know, done it?” you asked shyly.
“Oh, uh no actually. MJ and I never really talked about that and we broke up before really anything happened.”
“Oh, cool.”
There was awkward silence between you two not really knowing what was to come next. You wanted him, bad. You just got this urge suddenly to feel him, know what he sounded like. You felt a bit embarrassed and thought there was no way he was gonna want to do anything like that with you.
“Do you wanna…?” Or maybe so.
“Only if you want to.”
“Is that bad that I kinda do? Look,” Peter faced you more comfortably and closer, “I really like you. Like a lot. I know I probably shouldn’t and it’s like super inappropriate right now but I can’t help it. You’re like the most beautiful and most perfect girl I’ve ever met. And I really want to show you but I’d never do anything to hurt you or make you uncomfortable.”
“Peter, I really like you too. There’s no one I trust more than you, seriously,” you sat on your knees facing him too. You smiled at each other warmly and you started to feel warmer than before.
“Can I kiss you?” Peter whispered.
“Please.”
Peter inches closer to you and gently cupped your jaw pulling you in to kiss you. Your eyes fluttered close and butterflies erupted in your stomach. You moved your knee to move closer to him unfortunately directly on top of the remote.
The volume turned up and startled you both, the laughter and music from the cartoon on the TV echoing in the room. You pulled back sharply, accidentally biting Peter’s lip but he didn’t seem to care all that much as he grabbed the remote and turned the TV off.
“I’m so sorry! I think I bit your lip,” you panicked and cringed.
“It’s ok, it’s ok,” he laughed; his laugh was so charming and contagious you could help but giggle too.
“I’m sorry,” you repeated.
“Don’t be, it was an accident,” he chuckled.
“Now where were we,” he smirked and leaned in to kiss you again.
Your hands went through his hair and you sighed contently as his lips moved perfectly against. You kissed people before but they’ve never felt this amazing. Peter’s tongue pushed past your lips and you gladly let him in. You melted against him and he placed his hand on your back and pushed back slowly to lay your back against the bed.
That didn’t work out because you weren’t really in a good position to lay down without moving so you tumbled to the floor making Peter gasp.
“Are you ok?” he laughed.
You head shot up from the ground with a big dopey smile on your face. You crawled back up to bed laughing.
“I’m ok, just took me by surprise,” you giggled.
“Sorry, the mood’s totally ruined now I guess,” he smiled sadly.
“Well, I still wouldn’t mind if we tried one more time,” you said timidly.
“Yeah?” you nodded.
“Ok, uh can I uh, is this ok?” Peter had you straddling his lap and your stomach fluttered with anticipation and arousal.
“More than.”
Peter leaned up and kissed you again, his fingertips sneaking up your shirt and grazing the soft skin of your belly. Your body shudders but you wanted more. You wanted him to make you squirm and wiggle.
Peter tugged on the hem of the shirt silently asking if he could remove it. You hesitated but eventually lifted your arms up to let him undress you. Your skin was bare in front of him and this was the first you’d ever been shirtless in front of anyone.
Your arms instinctively covered your chest in modesty but Peter grabbed your hands and smiled softly letting you know that there was nothing to hide. You swallowed hard. Nervous about the current situation. You weren’t scared, you were far from it, but it seemed no matter how many times you imagined this, how many times you went over in your head what you would do, you still felt unprepared and clueless about what to do.
“Do you want to stop?” Peter whispered.
“No, I just don’t know what to do,” you giggled.
“I uh, I can kiss you again,” he suggested, making you nod your head.
Peter captured your lips in a kiss once again, he felt like he could stay like this in your arms and you in his forever. He lifted his own shirt and you were taken by surprise considering you’ve never actually since completely shirtless. There were times when his shirt would rise with his hoodie being taken off but never fully off and it’s all of its muscle glory.
“Peter,” you breathed out.
“Yeah?” he smirked.
You rubbed your gentle hands faintly across his torso and chest marveling at his physique.
“I didn’t realize how uh, fit, you are,” you gasped.
“It kinda came with the bite, and training of course,” he grinned.
“I mean look at you; you are even more beautiful than I imagined,” he said.
He leaned forward and kissed along your chest, his hands roaming over your skin. Your breathing became heavy and your hands rested awkwardly on Peter’s shoulders.
“Relax, princess. I got you. I promise I’m gonna take really good care of you,” he laid you down again, sideways his time so you wouldn’t fall off the bed again.
He kissed you again before trailing his lips down your throat. You bit your lip smiling basking in the feeling of Peter’s lips against your burning skin.
“Peter, please. I need more,” you whined.
“Like…?” he trailed.
“I’m ready. For you,” you whispered against his lips.
Peter groaned and crawled over you eagerly and opened the drawer grabbing a condom. His torso was directly over your head and you took that opportunity to treat him the same way pressing kisses to his torso.
“Baby,” he snickered.
“What, you don’t like my kisses?” you smiled.
“I love your kisses,” he smirked.
You watched him stand up and slowly pulled his sweats and boxers down. He kept his eyes trained on you making sure he wasn’t gonna scare you or anything. He saw your face fill with fear, confusion, shock; it didn’t matter so he pulled his pants quickly back up.
“Wait,” you shouted.
“What happened?” you were confused. You thought things were going well, you were excited and aroused when Peter pulled his pants down. The sight of his impressive member surprising you and making you wetter.
“I thought you were uncomfortable,” Peter panicked.
“No! Please Peter! I want to have sex with you so bad!” you shouted dramatically making him laugh.
“Please take your pants off again,” you crawled up to him and grabbed his neck pulling him close.
“As you wish, baby,” he kissed you and quickly wiggled out of his pants. You took the condom in your hand and carefully tore the foil. You pulled the ring of latex out unsure of what to do next. Peter gently tilted your head up and kissed you softly before taking the condom from your hands.
“I got this, you just get ready and sit pretty for me,” his words made you shudder. You quickly sat back and practically tore off your panties, tossing them across the room. You could see the light in Peter’s eyes started to fade and you could tell he was getting nervous.
“Hey, having second thoughts?” you asked softly.
“No, it’s just, I don't really know what I’m doing either,” he stammered.
“Well, I don’t really have anyone to compare, so,” you reassured him.
“I just don’t wanna ruin anything. What if I'm not good?” he said.
“Well, practice makes perfect. So let’s start practicing!” you cheered.
Peter bit his lip and pumped his aching cock a few times. You settled back and opened your legs a bit and Peter settled himself in. His hands trembled as he grabbed his dick and lined it up to your entrance and your breathing quickened.
He slid past your folds quite rapidly and you grunted. Peter noticed the discomfort and his hips pulled back too far causing his member to slip out. You giggled but Peter grunted.
“It’s ok, it’s ok,” you pulled him close and kissed his nose.
“Don’t freak out, baby,” you nuzzled your nose against his.
Peter kissed you softly, “You’re too good to me.”
Peter tried again and slowly passed your slicks folds. You moaned softly feeling his girth and Peter’s eyes screwed shut. He dipped his head in the crook of your neck and nibbled on the skin of your ear. You wrapped your legs around his hips pulling closer and Peter grunted.
“Fuck, Y/n. You feel so good,” he moaned.
“Peter,” you moaned.
Peter hips snapped into you rapidly and your moans got louder. His hand reached for yours and intertwined his fingers with yours. He kissed you again before his body trembled over yours. His hips suddenly stopped and he fell forward.
“Pete?” you whispered.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to. You felt so good I couldn’t hold back,” Peter whined.
“It’s ok,” you giggled.
“No it’s not,” he grumbled.
“It’s fine Pete, it was our first time. Don’t sweat it,” you smiled.
“No, sit back, princess. I promised I was gonna take care of you and I fully. Intend. On keeping that promise,” he kissed you in between words.
You fell back and Peter trailed kisses down your front. His hands rubbed your thighs softly pressing faint kisses to the inside of them. Peter looked admirably between your thighs. He licked his lips and looked up at you almost innocently making your stomach flip at the sight.
“Fuck,” Peter whispered before licking up your slit.
“Peter,” you gasped.
He flicked his tongue over your clit and your hips jolted forward. You wiggled and moved under him gasping and whimpering his name. Peter used his strength and pressed your hips down hard as he continued to eat you out.
Your hands flew to his hair tugging and pulling his fluffy curly hair. Your chest moved up and down hastily and sweat lined your forehead. You sat on your elbows and looked down to Peter who’s eyes were closed and his face immensely flushed, cheeks redden.
His eyes opened and stared directly into your eyes. He came up for a second and smiled cheekily before dipping his tongue passed your entrance once again. The pressure in the pit of your stomach built up and up and up, until finally it snapped and your body arched in pleasure.
You moaned and shrieked Peter’s name feeling ecstatic, overwhelmed with absolute pleasure.
“Feeling good?” Peter got up wiping your cum off his chin.
“Oh my goodness, Pete. You gotta do that again!” he laughed before kissing you.
“How was that?”
“Better than I imagined,” you cupped his face.
“I lo-” Peter stopped himself.
“I love you,” you whispered, finishing his sentence.
“Good, because I love you too, so much,” he kissed you. Peter tucked you in his bed and crawled beside you holding you close.
“Pete?”
“Yeah?”
“Thank you,” you kissed his jaw.
“For what?”
“For the best night ever,” you ggiled.
“Anytime. Like you said, practice makes perfect.”
“Oh, yeah. I cannot wait until we practice again.”

Tumblr media
You let yourself into Steve’s apartment at the compound, knowing that he wouldn’t mind you letting yourself in and waiting for him anyway, not once he saw the state you were in.
You were beside yourself, really, brokenhearted and upset. You’d gone to yours and your boyfriend’s shared apartment after a long day, hoping to surprise him by coming home on time for once, only to find him balls deep in your bed. With the girl he told you not to worry about. And her best friend hovering by them, kissing him and running her hands all over him. You didn’t even let him explain, just beelined out of the apartment, right back to the compound.
Since starting this job, you and Steve had almost become inseparable, and he knew more about you than anyone else on Earth. He’d even known about your relationship troubles, and your suspicions of your boyfriend, advising you on what to do about the situation. Steve had also told you to break up with him, and now you were wondering why you hadn’t listened to him and done it sooner. Oops.
You were already settled on Steve’s sofa, partway through a tub of Ben and Jerry’s when Steve arrived at the apartment, immediately sensing your distraughtness.
“What’s the matter, doll?” He dropped his bag where he stood at the door, kicking his shoes off before striding over and dropping on the sofa next to you. You sniffled, feeling the tears finally brim at your eyes.
“He was cheating on me, Steve,” you answered tearfully, clutching the ice cream closer to you. “I got back to him i-in bed fucking that girl and her friend.”
“Doll,” Steve said gently, extending an arm out to you. You instantly moved into him, burying your head in his chest as you started to sob.
“You were right, Steve,” you hiccuped, muffled by Steve’s shirt and the sobs. He started stroking your hair, staying silent to let you express the emotions you were feeling. “I just- I feel so, so stupid! The signs were there, and I-I tried to be angry, but it still hurts.”
“Of course it will, doll.” Steve’s tone of voice was soothing, calming you down a little. “You were with him a long time.”
“A waste of four years,” you muttered, shuffling so that you sat up properly. “I hate feeling like this, Steve.”
“Well, how about this- a pizza and your favourite movie?” Steve prompted, still softly stroking your hair. You nodded, smiling faintly at him.
“Now you know how to treat a girl right, Steve.”
An hour and a half later, you and Steve were one pizza and half a bottle of your favourite wine down, belittling every single aspect of your former boyfriend.
“And you know what I just cannot get my head around?” you said to Steve, placing your glass down on the coffee table.
“What?” Steve prompted, nodding for you to go on.
“I don’t even know how he was pulling all those girls! I mean, I don’t have any other experience to go on, but by god, he was terrible in bed. I always dreaded it each time.”
“He didn’t please you? Satisfy you?” Steve answered, furrowing his brows. You shook your head. You surprised yourself by how comfortable both you and Steve were discussing this.
“He would just rub me a little and then put in and he was done in five minutes,” you explained, sighing.
“Nothing else? No foreplay?” You shook your head again, grimacing at the lousy memories.
“No. It seemed nice for my first time, but it soon became unexciting.”
“I hate to see you not being treated right, doll,” Steve muttered stroking your cheek. All of a sudden, you became all too aware of your proximity to Steve, and you bet that you were close enough for him to hear your heart pound. The mood in the room had changed like the flip of a switch, and you could feel everything in that room. “You want me to show you how it’s done?” It took you a moment to understand, but you could feel yourself flush as you realised what he meant. You nodded eagerly, moving in just a little bit closer to Steve.
“Use your words, doll, and I promise I’ll make you feel good. Make you forget that bum.” Both his hands cupped your jaw as you barely whimpered, already breathless.
“Steve, I-I want you to m-make me feel good,” you stuttered, clutching onto Steve’s shirt. He flashed you a quick grin before caputring your lips in a passionate kiss, pulling you onto his lap with one muscular arm so that you were straddling him. That same arm kept itself wrapped around your hips, pulling you right up to his chest as he dominated the kiss. Unable to stop yourself, you moaned gently into the kiss, feeling yourself beginning to get wet in your panties. He never made you feel like this, not this fast. It was electrifying and you were loving it.
The hand that had been cupping your jaw moved down to your body, palming your breasts through your shirt. You started to softly roll your clothed core against Steve’s own, your instincts taking over, and you moaned when his teeth pulled on your bottom lip. His large hands temporarily moved from their places to pull your shirt off of you, and he paused to look at you, groaning whilst he unclasped your bra.
“Shit, doll,” he muttered. His hands covered your tits, stroking your peaked nipples. “You’re a goddess.” You gasped when his mouth nibbled on your left nipple, stroking and pinching the other one. You gripped Steve’s broad shoulders harder as you started to roll your hips faster. Then, Steve swiftly flipped you so that you were lying on your back, caging you in his arms. He kissed you again, and your curled your arms around his neck. A moment later, he started making his way down your body, placing light kisses as he moved down you. You whimpered and sighed as you felt the ghost touches in apprehension of what he was going to do next, your mind marvelling at the possibilities.
Steve worked quickly at your jeans, peeling them off to reveal your panty-clad mound, your wetness leaving an almost embarrassing sized wet spot. Well, you would’ve been embarrassed if you weren’t so lust stricken. Steve groaned at the sight, and in the same moment ripped them of you. You couldn’t help but moan at the example of strength he showed, your hole clenching around nothing.
“You’re so soaked, doll, all for me,” Steve growled, before he dived into your pussy, lapping and sucking like you were his last meal. You had never felt so good in your life, and the sensation was so overwhelmingly delightful.
“Steve!” You moaned, tangling one hand into his hair. The other was clutching onto the sofa cushion for dear life. You could feel the pleasure building itself up and up and you held onto every bit of it.
“Taste so sweet, doll,” Steve muttered, sliding a thick finger into you. His mouth continued its attack on you as his finger started to slide in and out of you. Your eyes were squeezed shut as you let the pleasure take over you, losing yourself in the feeling. You continued to whine, unable to keep yourself still. Steve’s other hand placed itself over your hips to stop them from moving so much when he added a second finger. Then, all of a sudden, you felt immense pleasure wash over you in waves when he forced a third finger inside of you, feeling impossibly stretched, reaching a crescendo as you came. Steve did not stop his violation of you until you stopped squirming about.
“Steve,” you moaned again as his head poked up. He grinned at you, his mouth covered in your juices.
“That was beautiful, doll,” he said, crawling back up your body. “But I’m not done with you yet.” You whimpered, thinking of all the things he could do with you next whilst he started kissing you feverishly once again. You melting into him, hooking your arms and legs around him. You didn’t notice him strip himself of his trousers and pants, but you did feel his heavy, thick cock on your clit, creating friction on your lips as he grinded gently against you.
“Now you tell me if this hurts, doll, ok?” Steve whispered, placing a tender kiss on your cheek. One arm balanced him above you whilst the other lined him up against your hole. You nodded, biting your lip as you looked at Steve. He promptly thrust into you, sliding until he was at full hilt. You gasped, this time uncomfortably as you realised just how big Steve was.
“Want me to wait, doll?” he asked. You nodded, clutching onto Steve. His free hand moved onto your lips, circling your button gently as you forced yourself to relax. Moments later, you felt the ache ebb, and you urged Steve to start moving.
“Please,” you begged, and Steve grinned at you, starting to slowly thrust in and out of you. Your head fell back as the delectable feeling started to roll over you again, clouding your brain. You couldn’t hold back any of the moans you let out, relishing in the heavenly stretch. “Steve!”
“I know, doll. You wanna cum again, huh?” He moved back down to your chest, nibbling on your nipple between words. “I wanna make you cum forever, doll, watch you orgasm over and over.” You couldn’t even respond, lost in the feeling of his cock filling you, reaching every inch of you.
“Fucked you dumb already, haven’t I?” Steve didn’t stop his tirade as he continued rutting, speeding his hips up. “It’s ok, doll, I’ll keep ya stuffed as long as you want me.” You were near sobbing, screaming as another orgasm neared you. You never realised sex could feel this good, that it was supposed to feel this good. He was right, you never wanted to stop.
“You gonna cum for me again, doll?” Steve asked, and you nodded eagerly, wanting it more than anything in your entire life. “Go on, then, doll. Cum.” His other hand, the one on your clit, moved faster, adding to your pleasure as you let it wash over you once again, this time wailing as you finished for the second time that night.
“Steve!” You cried, chanting his name over and over as he started snapping his hips faster.
“So beautiful, doll. Gotta fill you up now, though, make you mine,” he growled. You were tender as he kept moving, chasing his own orgasm. You laid there, spent but satisfied as he stilled in you, finally cumming himself, filling you as promised and groaning your name. He stayed there, hovering over you and kissing you anew.
“Steve,” you moaned gently. “That was.. that was so good.” You chuckled, throwing your head down.
“Hey, doll?” Steve asked, and you hummed to let him continue. “I should’ve asked this first, but let me take you out tomorrow. On a date.”

We Have A Jedi [21] | Peter Parker x Male Reader
Tumblr media
Fandom: Star Wars, Marvel
Pairing: Peter Parker x Male Reader, Tony Stark x Son Reader
Summary: The siege of Mandalore begins. After being asked by Ven for assistance, (M/N) returns to the war he has been away from for so long.
From the beginning Last Chapter | Next Chapter
The Republic Cruiser Lightbringer.
Sheyo and Janai watched as the Mandalorian gauntlet landed in the hangar. “What do Mandalorians want with us?” Sheyo asked but Janai didn’t answer. The codes that had been given to land were old...but they belonged to one person only. The ship's ramp extended and the door opened to reveal (M/N). Janai couldn’t help the smile that appeared on her face. Sheyo didn’t waste a second and quickly ran to greet her best friend.
“(M/N)!” She brought him into a crushing hug. “You’re back! What are you doing here?” (M/N) hugged her back but quickly let go giving her a sad smile. “The war.” He looked past her and to his mother. “We don’t have much time. We must act quickly if we’re to capture Kren.” Sheyo looked to Janai who seemed a bit taken back by her son's words but quickly shook it off and nodded.
“Kren’s located here in the capital of Sundari.” Ven stated pointing at the holomap of the city before it moved into the inside of the domed city. Sheyo, Janai and (M/N) all watched and listened as he spoke. “He’s using the palace as his base of operations. Thanks to the darksaber, he now controls many Mandalorian Clans. Luckily, I have the loyalty of the rest. But I still don’t have enough to face him alone. I need your help.”
(M/N) turned to Janai who looked over the map. She seemed to be thinking before letting out a sigh. “I want to help you...but I can’t.” (M/N) turned to face her fully. “Why not?” Janai stood up straighter this time and spoke in her general voice. “I’m afraid Mandalore is not a republic world. It chose to stay neutral and unfortunately we can’t send an invasion force to capture Kren. It would be starting another war.”
“You won’t have another war! If you help us I’ll have the darksaber and I’ll make sure Mandalore won’t strike back. Just help us take back our home.” Ven spoke louder this time, letting his emotions get the better of him.
“I’m sorry. But I can’t help you.”
Janai was about to walk away but (M/N) spoke up. “Then help me.” Janai turned back and (M/N) could feel all eyes on him. “Help me then if you won’t help them. I’M going to help them take back their home...and I’m going to capture Kren once and for all. I believe the dreams...NO the VISIONS I’ve been having are finally coming to pass and I’m afraid of what it means. I won’t walk away from the thing that’s been haunting me for years. Please....don’t make me do this alone, but I will if I have to.”
Janai only stared into his eyes. In her eyes she saw how quickly (M/N) had changed and became his own person. But he was also still willing to help those in need. “I-I wish I could. But we have new orders that we’re supposed to return to Tython immediately.” Sheyo not sure what to do quickly acted on her feet. “What about we make (M/N) a military advisor? We’ve had some before to help in other battles, this way we don’t have to get involved but (M/N) and Ven still get the forces they need. It’s the best we can do...and we OWE it to (M/N).”
(M/N) watched as his mother smiled. “I suppose that’s a good compromise. I’ll get the forces ready for you.” She quickly turned and walked away. (M/N) frowned a bit, he could tell their relationship had been strained by him leaving.
“Hey. It’ll be okay. Now come on, tell me everything you’ve been up to.” Sheyo led him away to the cantina.
(M/N) looked out at the vast emptiness of space. “Can you feel it? The great change.”
He felt his mother’s presence next to him. “Not really. I can feel...something, like a buzzing. But then again, you always were better at sensing things.”
“I fear whatever is about to happen...won’t be good.”
Janai smiled and placed a hand on his shoulder. “Then we’ll be ready for it. It’s time to go.”
(M/N) left and boarded a gunship with Ven and a couple other mandalorians and republic troops before taking off.
“May the force be with you (M/N) Stark.”
….
Mandalore.
The hum of engines filled the sky as Republic gunships and Mandalorian gauntlets entered Mandalore's atmosphere. Inside the gunship, (M/N) watched Ven pull up a hologram. “Axten. What’s our status?” A hologram of another Mandalorian man appeared. “The city’s on high alert. Kren’s scrambling his forces. We’ve caught them off guard but it’ll only do us good for so long. You better hurry up love, you’re going to miss all the fun.” Ven laughed. “Wouldn’t miss it dear.” He shut off the hologram and turned to (M/N). “Don’t worry. Once we’re done here I’ll get you back to your boy.”
(M/N) could feel himself blush and on reflex moved to feel Peter’s sash.
Soon the gunship was rocked and the pilot’s voice came over the radio. “We have contact!” (M/N) grabbed onto a support. “Open the doors!” On cue, the doors of the gunship opened on time to watch another gunship besides them get blown up. Ven quickly put on his helmet and pulled out his pistols. “Well, let’s get to work!” He quickly jumped out of the gunship igniting his jetpack and meeting the enemy Mandalorians in the air.
The gunship shook again from another explosion and (M/N) watched as a group of enemy Mando’s boarded another gunship. Grabbing his lightsabers and backing up, (M/N) took a running start before jumping out of the gunship and landed on the other one. Igniting his lightsabers, he slashed his way through the enemies.
Jumping into the gunship, he took out the Mandalorians that had boarded it before slashing one of their jetpacks and grabbing on, letting the mandalorian’s malfunctioning jetpack to carry him forward. He let go, landing on another Gauntlet and running the length of the ship's wings. All around him fighting in the air continued on as the landing force got closer to Sundari.
Using the force he jumped off the gauntlet, launching himself towards the docks. Letting himself fall through the air, he kept focus on the fast approaching ground and used the force to slow his descent. With a roll, he planted his feet on the docks and ignited his lightsabers. The enemy forces that were waiting began firing at him and he blocked and deflected every bolt shot at him. The enemy however was slowly pushing him towards the edge of the docks where he could fall off.
He continued to block the blaster fire but heard jetpack’s roaring behind him. Risking a look, he watched as a group of mandalorians flew up and landed besides him. He recognized one of the Mandalorians by his armor, Axten. Backup. The reinforcements began firing on the enemy Mando’s causing them to fall back. The docks had been secured and the landing force was landing. (M/N) caught his breath before running off to meet with Ven for the next push.
(M/N) helped the Republic troops and Mandalorian rebels push forward. Finally they had set up a good base of operations until they could move and take the palace. It wasn’t until (M/N) really stopped and took a short rest that he noticed how everything seemed familiar. It was the city, the domed city from his dreams, it was Sundari. Whatever his visions warned him about...it would be happening soon.
“It looks better without all the smoke and fighting.” (M/N) turned and saw Ven walking up with Axten. “Our forces are pushing forward at a steady pace. We should take the palace by nightfall.”
“Good.”
“Wow, I thought you’d love the idea of getting back to good ol’daddy and love bug.” Ven joked at him, Axten must have seen how troubled (M/N) was and stopped his lover. “Hey stop it. What’s wrong kid? I can see something’s going on in your head.”
(M/N) didn’t see the point of hiding anything anymore. “Where do I start?” He told them everything. The visions of new york, the battle, Sundari’s role in the vision...then the ashes. “So yeah...I feel like something terrible is going to happen here.”
“Look around kid, the whole place is on fire. People are being killed and ashes are just part of the job. I’m sure your vision is about this. Now let’s get a move on, we need to get Kren out of here.” Ven said leaving to get ready for their next strike.
“It’ll be alright (M/N). I’m sure whatever is coming, we’ll be able to handle it. Now come on.”
(M/N) took one last look at the city before meeting the others at a holotable to plan their move to the palace. After what seemed like hours and lots of debating they finally had a plan. As the forces were leaving the building, a vibration made (M/N) pull out his holo. An alert had sounded off and he pulled up the image to see a ship entering Earth’s atmosphere. He had installed an alert system before he left so he would know if trouble was coming. The image showed a ship in the shape of a Q entering the atmosphere. “Dad and Peter can handle that....I need to do this.” Then he put away the holo only hoping he was right.
The battle to the palace had been fierce. Imperial and Mandalorian forces were blocking their own forces from advancing like they had planned. (M/N) blocked blaster fire as Ven and Axten returned it.
“This isn’t working! They’ve got us blocked. (M/N) you need to get to the palace and kill Kren! It’ll be the only way to end this all!”
“How!? If you haven’t noticed we’re kind of stuck here!”
“But not by air! Grab and jetpack and we’ll follow you!”
(M/N) ducked behind a trashed republic walker and looked around. There was a dead Mandalorian near him, no longer in need of his jetpack. Using the force he ripped the jetpack from the body and quickly put it on. “Alright! Now what!?”
“Follow us!” With that Ven and Axten jumped off the sight of the walkway and began shooting through the air.
“Sure! Since it’s SO easy!” With one final look around, (M/N) ignited the jetpack and followed after them.
Flying with the jetpack wasn’t so difficult, especially after he used his fathers gauntlets. However unlike last time, he had to dodge blaster fire from others chasing him. Ven and Axten flipped around and fired behind them. “Get to the palace! We’ll cover you!”
(M/N) didn’t get to fight back as the two Mandalorian fell back and took on the enemies. (M/N) made his way to the palace, which was surprisingly empty when he arrived. Night was falling now and he could feel the disturbance growing. It was coming close.
Walking into the palace throne room, Kren sat on the throne with a smirk. It seemed like he had taken some more damage than (M/N) thought from their last battle. It seems as if his whole side of his body had been replaced with cybernetics.  “Ah! Finally, I was wondering how long it would take you to get here.”
“Sorry to keep you waiting.”
Kren smirked and stood up. “It’s only fitting that we’re here, together at the end.” Kren walked over to the window and stared out as explosions went off around the city and the fighting kicked up again. “You’ve felt it. I know you have. The growing emptiness. The galaxy….the UNIVERSE is about to change forever.”
(M/N) was curious, what exactly had Kren known that he hadn’t. “The mad titan has made his moves and now enters his endgame. It won’t be long now.”
“The mad- Thanos!? The butcher that’s murdered billions in neutral space? What’s he planning!?” (M/N) had heard about Thanos from his mother and from senators...whole worlds reduced to ruin. Only since they were neutral worlds the Republic didn’t care.
Kren laughed at his outburst. “Nothing we can stop. Not anymore. You see he has all the infinity stones now,or will soon enough and when he does….no one will be safe for his plans. The Republic and Empire will fall. The Sith and Jedi will become extinct. The end of an era.”
“Why tell me this!? Why take Mandalore then if we’re so lost!?”
“Because not EVERYONE will die, and I will remain to build my new empire here. With the survivors.”
“I won’t let that happen.”
“And you think you can stop me? I’ve heard you are no longer a Jedi.”
(M/N) ignited his lightsabers. “I guess that makes us even then. You’re only HALF a Sith.”
That seemed to have pissed Kren off, immediately he let out a snarl and ignited his saber. With a quick motion, a slash of red came at him full force. He was quick to roll out of the way and block the next attack with his blades.
“New sabers. I’m guessing the Jedi didn’t let you keep your old ones?”
“Funny. You do know I just took off your arm right? I’m guessing you just like the attention.” He smirked as he saw the rage building up in the sith.
“Insignificant, ignorant Child!” He continued to lash out with (M/N) blocking every blow. He thought of the training exercises with Steve and Nat, how Nat showed him so of her ‘dirty’ moves as she called them, while Steve showed him some of combat training. Their moves added to his jedi techniques from Janai made him even more skilled against his opponent.
The battle outside was raging, as the fighting kicked up an explosion rocked the palace. The windows shattered and littered the throne room in glass. That didn’t stop the two as they continued to lock sabers against each other. (M/N) however had an idea, using the force he called the shattered glass to fly at Kren.
“Ugh! AAAHH!” The Chiss let out a shout before using the force to push (M/N) back and taking the opportunity to make a run for it. He jumped out one of the shattered windows.
(M/N) got back up and took a quick breath. He looked at the window Kren jumped out of. “Coward.” With a running start he followed out the window. Once out of the window he slid down the slanted part of the building after Kren. The sith was ahead of him, but once he saw he was being pursued shot lightning at him. (M/N) was quick to block it with his lightsaber.
Reaching the end of the slide, Kren jumped off of the building and (M/N) followed after him. Kren landed on one of the streets and quickly blocked as (M/N) came down with his lightsaber. “Leaving so soon?”
Kren launched himself at (M/N) who once again blocked his blow. Soon blaster fire was fired past them as soldiers on both sides came rushing in. Both sides engaged each other as (M/N) and Kren continued fighting.
(M/N) had gotten the upper hand and was getting close to disarming Kren when suddenly he felt a sharp pain grow in him. Kren’s laughter cut through to him. “Can you feel that!? He has won.” As if on queue, an empty feeling was growing quickly within him. All around him he watched as Republic, Sith and Mandalorian soldiers alike turned to ash. His vision made real.
(M/N) was about to engage Kren again when he felt another pain shoot through him. Someone close to him just...gone. Without thinking, he touched the sash around his waist. “Peter.” His grief, his anger, it all bubbled up and pushed him forward. He once again engaged Kren, catching the sith off guard.
“I can feel it! Your anger. Your hatred! It’s all there! You really are no Jedi anymore!”
Kren used the force to push him back. (M/N) got up and as he looked up he prepared to block another blow, but instead he watched as Kren started to turn into ash.
“No...no no! I was supposed to survive! I was supposed to build MY empire!” His rant was cut short as he fully disintegrated.
(M/N) caught his breath and watched as people all around him turned to ash. Republic, Mandalorians, Sith. Soldier and Civilian. Whatever was happening did not discriminate against anyone. (M/N) could feel the pit in his stomach growing, was he going to vanish too? He couldn’t stop this, no matter how hard he fought. With the sense and feeling of defeat, he turned off his lightsabers and put them back on his belt. That feeling...of death, was growing more and more near.
Then suddenly he felt something grab his shoulder and he was pulled back.

chained :: elle king ft. cameron neal  chained  marvel m. list
Tumblr media
We can run away, but we can’t hide for long
And all that lingers harms us
She’d tried it—moving houses, running away from the problems she was used to, changing things. She’d already tried it, and it had worked beautifully at first. The high of being in a new place, a place all to themselves, it was wonderful. And it had brought out the man she had started to believe was gone, the man she’d loved for so many suns and so many moons; years of her life having been spent growing alongside him, and she felt nothing short of complete satisfaction.
“Thanks for running away with me,” she’d whispered to him in the late hours of the night, head rested on his bare chest and his calloused hand running up and down over the delicate skin of her back.
“I’ll go wherever you want me to, babe,” was his promise, spoken softly into the dark with a tenderness reserved for her heart and ears only.
But all good things came to an end, and her life had brought truth to that statement. Things settled, routines came back and everything that lingered became visible. The issues that remained, the unspoken anger and unresolved conflicts rearing their ugly heads once again. She’d tried to pack up her life and her love and run away, but she was learning that she couldn’t hide for long.
I can lie to you, but the truth comes alive
Every time I die saying goodbye
Everything was a slow progression, the honeymoon phase wearing off slowly but surely; the conflicts creeping in where they weren’t welcomed. Again, everything was fine at first, they seemed to move as a team and it filled her heart with a warmth almost indescribable—they were so much of the same mind, in her eyes.
But then things drifted off course, the scales tipped in every which way except balanced—right where she wanted, and irritation grew to be the default when she saw his hands reach for the motorcycle keys. Betrayal became the default when she looked away from him and nodded her head, giving a flat and unconvincing ‘I’m okay,’ or ‘have fun.’ Hurt became the default when she bit her tongue until her mouth filled with the taste of crimson copper and her sobs shook her entire body, the sound of a roaring motorcycle engine filling the house.
She could lie, but he always knew. They had their problems, they battled through their conflicts, but they were still positive and negative forces magnetically pulling the other closer, two links in a chain stuck together for eternity.
Cause I don’t want to change
but I can’t stay this way
Love was a lot of things; sometimes she thought of it as something warm and familiar and safe, and other times she was convinced it was the chain that kept her around. She loved him, god damnit did she love James Barnes, but she knew that she was nearing her limit. Her heart could only take so much before she’d lose herself completely, and then she was done for beyond that point. Forever damaged; irreparable.
When Y/N thought about a life where she was on her own, miles upon miles away from the man she only wanted love and comfort from, her chest felt similar to how she imagined a sinkhole made the earth feel. The memories they shared, the laughs and the cries and the endless fun, it would forever haunt her if she were to leave—but one could argue that they already haunted her, already plagued her thoughts and dreams and every second she was breathing.
“What do you want?!” He’d screamed when she’d brought up her concerns, arms raised in the air and brows furrowed.
“Things can’t stay this way, James,” she’d stressed, fingers knotting her hair as they frantically ran through the strands.
And I don’t even mind staying chained, and thinking of you
Thinking of you
“What if I don’t wanna change?”
The breath had caught in her throat at his words, heart sinking to the pits of her stomach as her teary eyes bore into his, his figure blurry but radiating frustration.
“Then I’ll leave,” she threatened, the words burning her mouth as she spoke them. “I love you but I won’t let that stop me.”
But she always did—when he crawled into bed with slow movements and gentle hands, words soft, sweet, and oh so guilty. Apologies and false promises, admissions of love and sweet nothings, it mended her heart for the time being and she remained in the same place.
Is it up to me?
It’s always been up to you to find the peace we needed to
Strength had been dwindling, strength to fight for a relationship immersed in chaos. When things blew up, when the road grew rocky and dangerous and sometimes even lethal, it’d always been her to struggle putting the pieces back together. His words of affirmation and endless charm was the glue that only temporarily mended the cracks, but it was her will and her strive that got them there in the end.
Strength was dwindling, and she was starting to give up. “It’s always been up to me, James,” she’d told him, voice quiet, scratchy, and broken. “It’s always been me, but it’s on you now.”
He hadn’t responded, lips slightly parted as he took in the way that she didn’t even bother looking at him. He knew he’d been digging a grave, and he was starting to see that eventually he’d have to lie in it if he didn’t straighten up. The problems in their lives, in both him and her, they were deeply rooted and while she’d been trying to hack away at them, he’d only been watering them.
Is it said and done, is it carved in the stone?
How many days is it gonna take ‘til we get back home?
Most days, he did nothing but convince her that their fate was sealed—that their ultimate demise on the horizon and refused to move for anything. She’d tried and tried to tell herself that that wasn’t the truth, exalted all resources willing into existence the fact that they were meant to be—stuck together for the trials and tribulations that life undoubtedly bring them.
Things could change, and perhaps they would; nothing was said and done for them because only Y/N could write her story and only she could choose her ending.
But the harder she held on, the longer the path seemed to be. If what they had was a journey through struggle and strife, then the journey seemed years and years long—an endless battle to just make it through the days to even see the end of the road, and it more often than not left her wondering how long it would take before they would make it back home. How long would it be before they returned to where they started—sickeningly sweet, head over heels in love and willing to do anything under the sun for one another.
Cause I don’t want to change
But I can’t stay this way
If this was what growth was, then she wished someone had told her of how painful it was. It felt like scratchy throats from screaming matches, aching chests from nights spent clawing away at the burning skin, and so many more things that weren’t even worth listing. The point of it was that she was finally reaching the point where the door was opening, creaking slowly and revealing the outside world where she could escape.
Y/N didn’t want to escape, but she was starting to see that maybe it was what she needed to do. At one point she had loved her life because he had made the sun shine brighter every day and the stars twinkle a little more each night, and while she longed for that version of James he was not anywhere in sight—and hadn’t been for a long time.
She knew she couldn’t stay this way, she knew it and felt like a complete idiot every time she saw her own reflection, but, much like the aforementioned growth, this change was just as painful. And pain was something she’d felt enough of.
And I don’t even mind staying chained, and thinking of you
Thinking of you
The doors had all been slammed, every single one had the unfortunate fate of being in the path of an angry James, and a few of them hadn’t survived and refused to close completely.
“Why do you want to leave so bad, huh? If you don’t wanna be here then just fucking leave!” The emotional torment was clear as day in his voice as he screamed to the top of his lungs, and it tore her heart to shreds.
“You know damn well why!” She’d shouted back, face beet red as her chest violently heaved. “I don’t fucking deserve this, Buck, and I’m sick and tired of it!” Her nerves buzzed under the surface of her skin and she could feel her pulse in her face, and the man before her only stared back with dark eyes.
“You won’t change,” she’d sobbed. “You won’t and you know it, and if you loved me you would.”
“Y/N—” he’d started, taking a step forward but she’d held her hands out, pushing herself against the wall to get further away.
“No.” Her words were shaky yet void of fear; actually, James could hear the grit that she’d developed after dealing with his shit for so long and he felt his chest cave in slightly. “You stay there and you listen to me.”
Will you wake me up? Will you shake me up?
Cause I’m losing my way in the game
The cracks and creases on her heart deepened greatly, and when they did so she felt every bit of it. The way his eyes bore into hers, as if he was searching her soul like he’d done so many times before, made her look away—for this time she couldn’t trust him to search with good intentions.
“I’ve tried for a long time to make this work, and you can’t tell me you don’t see it. You’re not stupid, James; don’t pretend to be.” She’d shook her head with her last statement, hair going every which way and tears almost filled his eyes because she was right. “But it wont work if something doesn’t give and I’ve given enough!”
He nodded lamely, because that’s all he could think to do. He knew she didn’t want his words, they didn’t matter right now.
“Are you even serious about this? About us? You know this isn’t a joke, this is MY life! It goes way beyond just you and your issues and your anger,” her arms waved around in the air. “James, I’m losing myself in this and you’re supposed to save me!”
The tears did fill his eyes then, stinging the blue orbs and causing him to blink rapidly. He felt like shit, and every bone in his body ached with guilt.
Even at our best, my love
Neither one of us was ever really good enough
The realization that some things truly weren’t meant to be, that some people really weren’t meant to be together, was a tough pill to swallow. Y/N felt herself choke on it multiple times throughout the years, but it was finally down and done with. She couldn’t say if they were never meant to meet, or just never meant to stay together, but either way she knew that they were a recipe for disaster.
Her chemicals and his mixed together didn’t make the love that lasted a lifetime, the kind that made it through the dark and the light of the rocky road through life. They made poison, a stunning and paralyzing formula of toxic traits and deep rooted issues. They weren’t a match; even at their best they were never compatible—just too blind and in love to see it.
“I don’t know why I can’t change, and I will always stay this way,” she sang softly, her heartbreak shining through under the bright lights of the stage in a bar miles and miles away from the man she loved. The band behind her kept up well, putting the raw emotion behind every beat and note that this song required, and for that she was grateful. It was a slight break in the constant dull that she felt, a break that she was beginning to believe she wouldn’t see in her lifetime.
“And I don’t even mind staying chained,” the drawl in her voice was nothing short of old soul and broken dreams, and it wouldn’t have fit in anywhere other than the rundown bar filled with folks of a similar kind. She’d worn heartache daily long before she walked away from that house, but now it never seemed to wipe off. It was never ending, and so was the thought of him. She truly was chained to him, and sometimes in the middle of tear filled nights she told herself that he was still chained to her as well. “And thinking of you.”
Thinking of you, thinking of you, thinking of you.

Ooh can I get a Steve Rogers x female Kryptonian reader? Like he’s scared to ask her out and stuff so he’s tries to asks the team for help but she ends up asking him first and telling he she was scared because she’s an alien and stuff. Sorry it’s long. Thanks ❤️
A/n: Omg this is so cute! I love the idea of Marvel interacting with this type of character! @rlly
I’ m wonderstruck, blushing all the way home: Steve Rogers x Kryptonian!reader
A/n: this fic will use she/her pronouns! As always requests for different pronouns in a new fic are welcome!
Being an alien was hard. Let me tell you, now it was helpful that I looked human, but once I started helping the avengers there were some not so nice messages about me.
Apparently people don’t like the idea that someone is different from them.
It was hard not having anyone who could relate to what I’d been through. I was the only Kryptonian to survive my planet exploding.
The superpowers were cool, but it was hard to watch TV and see all these people to tell me to go back to where I came from.
This was my home, I was raised here, and I don’t have a home to go back to. Those words only reminded me further.
Now, being offered a spot on the Avengers was surprising, but apparently they liked me.
I told them, on a trial basis, I would join the team. So far, it was amazing. I got a room, with a projected window view of Krypton.
There were places to train, and I got to go on missions I couldn’t have known about otherwise.
The only problem was Captain Rogers, who seemed to not want to know me at all. He avoided all personal interactions with me which was hurtful since I had a painfully obvious crush on him.
I mean, have you seen him? It’s hard not to want to kiss him.
I don’t think he hated me, but he certainly didn’t plan on becoming friends, which was disappointing.
Tonight Tony Stark had a mandatory attendance party, so I decided I’d make him be friends with me.
I showed up to the party in a outfit of mine, it wasn’t too formal or too casual:
Normal: white t-shirt with black leather jacket, black high-waisted semi formal shorts, with knee high black boots.
Modest: a small white button down, and a leather jacket. Dark black pants, and ankle height black boots.
With head covering: black head covering, with subtle matte pattern to match leather.
Once I had arrived, I searched around for Maria and Wanda whom I had become close friends with in my short time here.
“Hey, y/n!” Maria waved, “you look great! I love the outfit!”
“Thank you!” I beamed at the compliment, “I’m exited to get to know the team!”
“They’re all exited to meet you too, they’ve been asking us questions about you, but we haven’t said anything.
“Hey!” Natasha said, joining us.
“Hello, Natasha right?” I said sticking my hand out, like my adopted parents taught me.
“Yeah, but you can call me nat!” She said with a smile, “I would love to introduce you to a couple people, is your interested?”
“I’d love that!” I said looking over to Maria and Wanda, “I’ll be back I promise!”
“Have fun, y/n.” Wanda said
Natasha showed me around the party pointing out several people, eventually we got to our teammates.
“Y/n,” nat said glancing at me, “this is Clint and Bruce!”
“It’s so nice to meet you!” I said smiling.
“It’s so nice to be properly introduced,” Bruce said, “I’ve been wanting to talk to you about Krypton and your powers.”
“I’d love that!” I said, “we could meet up at the lab sometime, yeah?”
“I’d love to!” He said
“Hi I’m Clint.” Clint said.
“Nice to meet you, I’m y/n.”
“Lovely to meet you formally, I’m stoked to think you might join the team!”
“Thank you,” I said blushing, “it’s an honor to be considered.”
“You guys can all talk later, I have to introduce her to some people.” Nay said grabbing my arm
“Nice talking to you.” I said sheepishly before I was dragged away.
Nat introduced me to several other SHEILD agents, before finally getting to the last 2 avengers.
“Thor, Steve.” Nat said, “this is y/n.”
“Hello, it is an honor to meet you y/n l/n, the last daughter of krypton.” Thor said, addressing me with my official title.
“Please, just call me y/n. I hear your not of this earth either?”
“No, I am from Asgard.” He said smiling
“Asgard is so lovely!” I said happy to feel something somewhat familiar.
“Roger, you did not mention she was intelligent as well!” Thor said laughing.
Steve looked wide eyed for a moment, before dismissing it. I blushed, but not noticeably.
“Hi, I’m y/n!” I said going to shake his hand.
“Steve.” He said shaking my hand.
“Hi Steve.” I said lightly, “it’s really nice to get to meet everyone!”
He nodded briefly. Maybe he didn’t like me. Oh… what if it’s because I’m an alien?
That thought probably hurt more any anything else. I couldn’t control that, it was part of who I am. It seems that’s the part he doesn’t like.
“Well,” I said, “sorry to bug you.”
I quickly left and walked back over to Wanda and Maria. I was fairly quiet, while they continued to converse.
All I could think about was why Steve didn’t like me. Was it really because I was an alien? It just didn’t seem fair. He didn’t even give me a chance.
The party was dying down, and I continued To listen to Maria and Wanda, until Maria had to leave. Now there was only Wanda, Thor, Steve and I.
Thor said goodbye to me before leaving to return to Asgard. Wanda noticed me glancing at Steve.
“I’m gonna go,” she said, “I’ll be in my room if you need me. Talk to him.”
I nodded, still timid to actually speak to him. We looked over to me, then looked away when he made eye contact.
“Steve.” I said standing up.
“Yes?” He asked, semi-surprised
“Can you be honest with me?” I asked, “what is your problem with me?”
“Huh?”
“You won’t speak to me until it’s work related, you don’t make eye contact. You refuse to hold any type of conversation. It’s like you hate me! I don’t get it!”
“I don’t hate you..” he said, looking guilty,
“Then what’s your problem? I have a stupid crush on you and you don’t even want to be friends!” I covered my mouth, oh shit.
“What?”
“Nothing, never mind.”
“You have a crush on me?”
“What? No.” I said, trying to laugh it off. “well I’m gonna go!”
“No, wait!” He said grabbing my hand
“Look, Steve, there is no need to pity me. I can take a hint.”
“I like you too, I just didn’t want to get to close and make it harder for me not to admit how much I like you.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah.”
“I thought you didn’t like me cause I was an alien.” I said quietly
“What! Of course not! I think that’s awesome!”
“Really?”
“Yeah!”
“Well, this might not be appropriate, but do you wanna go on a date sometime?”
“I’d love to.” He said, taking my hand.

The Aftermath ~ Part 4
Tumblr media
Summary: y/n gets a card from happy hogan and vomits on the side of the road after telling off brad in the middle of an airport
Pairing: peter parker x reader
Warnings: swearing, angst, fluff, mysterio is the worst, trauma, it’s marvel what did you expect
Word Count: 1741
A/N: i know it’s reader insert but i’m emotionally attached to y/n... so, me
                                                         //////////
Let me tell you, getting lava to come out of the bottom of the Thames was pretty much the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. And I thought Italy was bad.
Beck had a drone on standby, waiting to shoot me should I suddenly decide I’d rather die than destroy London.
I started destroying London.
It wasn’t easy. Beck told me I had to use all four elements to make it convincing, and it took all of my concentration. Listen, I’m damn good. I can make buildings crumble, I can make airplanes stop shaking in mid air, I know what the hell I’m doing. But all four elements at once? Let’s just say I’ll have a migraine for days.
I positioned myself at the very top of the monster so I could see what I was doing. I tried to do as much damage with as few casualties as possible, but I had to perform—Beck was watching.
I was waiting for Mysterio to come out and save the day, as planned, but then a red and blue blur dropped from the sky.
“You’ve got to be shitting me.” I smiled, a full-blown smile. Beck had announced at the top of his lungs that he had killed Spider-Man. I didn’t take it well. I mean, what do you expect? I’d known Peter for a full year of school, and I was actually starting to call him a friend (to myself, of course, I’d let him admit that first) and then Beck just had to go ahead and drop that bomb on me.
Peter dove into the water and —
Oh shit he thinks this is a projection.
I hollowed out the middle of my monster and pulled him all the way up to my makeshift platform. Then his jaw dropped when he saw me.
“Y/N!”
I punched him in the shoulder. “I thought you were dead!”
“You’re working with Mysterio?”
“No, fuck him, he’s forcing me to do this.” I knocked some people off of the sidewalk and into the Thames. “He said he’d kill my family if I didn’t do what he said.”
Peter was gaping at me. “You’re the Avatar!”
I groaned. “Peter! You’re missing the point! I’m being forced to destroy London until you can kick Mysterio’s ass.”
He sobered up quickly. In complete honesty, he looked like shit. His eyes were bloodshot, his cheek was scrapped, and he was standing heavily to one side. Shit, just like I said. “Where is he?”
I thrust my chin toward Tower Bridge as I let my sludgy fist come down on a coffee shop. So much wasted espresso.
I had been at it for an hour, maybe two, when Peter shot some webs into the air without swinging from them. I took that as my cue to cool it, and I let the lava sink back to the Earth’s core. The Thames happily returned to normal, and I deposited myself on the uneven cobblestones by the Tower of London. The moment I touched down MJ ran past me with a weapon in hand, straight for the bridge. Odd.
“Was - was that monster thing... you?” Flash’s camera was pointed at me. I wanted to take his phone and chuck it straight into the filthy water, but all I did was look at him tiredly.
“We’re all just full of secrets, aren’t we Eugene?”
“You okay, kid?” A man with a goatee was with Ned and Betty and he looked vaguely familiar.
“Dead on my feet,” I admitted.
He nodded. “Let’s get back to your class.”
I would’ve fallen flat on my face if Flash hadnt stepped forward and wrapped an arm around me. “Thanks,” I mumbled as I wrapped my own arm around his shoulders. “Where did everyone think I went?”
“Uh,” he cleared his throat, “Harrington said he got an email from your mom saying you weren’t feeling well, so you were gonna stay behind in Prague with some family then fly home. Everyone else was really skeptical, especially ‘cause Peter used the same excuse, but it’s not like we could do anything.” We slowly made our way back to the rest of the class. “Good luck explaining to Harrington how you’re back.”
“Think he’ll believe the truth?”
Flash’s eyebrows scrunched together. “What’s the truth?”
“I was kidnapped by Mysterio and he made me turn into an Elemental so he could become the new Tony Stark.”
I wish I could’ve told him I was making it up. I wish I could’ve made myself believe I was making it up. But I wasn’t. Reality really is shit.
Flash just chuckled half heartedly. “No. But that doesn’t mean he won’t let you go back with us anyway.”
We rejoined the class eventually, Peter still missing, but MJ quickly joined my other side and whispered in my ear, “I just kissed Peter.”
My eyes widened and I whispered back, “Holy shit that’s awesome,” but my heart wasn’t in it.
They’re really cute, and obviously happy. But I was starting to get attached to him. And now he couldn’t be mine. Not that he was to begin with, but a small part of me was hopeful.
“Y/N! You’re back!” Harrington’s exclamation could be heard over all of the class, so they all turned their heads to look at me. Joy.
“Yeah, turns out my connecting flight was the same as yours. Crazy how that works out, right?”
“Well, we’re glad to have you here. Okay, let’s all get back to the airport, we still have a flight to catch.”
The rest of them started migrating, but I stuck back. I don’t have a ticket. I can’t get on a plane without a ticket.
“Hey, kid, you okay?” It was the same familiar guy from before.
“I- I don’t have a ticket. M- Mysterio was the one who got me here, and I never thought so far as a way home, and-“ I was on the verge of tears, and before I could object, his arms were wrapped around me and he was patting my back softly.
“Hey, you’ll be okay. I-“
But he was interrupted by none other than Spider-Man himself.
“Happy, hey- Y/N?”
Before I could really stop myself I launched myself into Peter’s arms and hugged him tightly. “God, he told me you were dead.”
His arms eventually reciprocated the level of tightness I was giving out. “It wasn’t a fun time for me, either.”
I let go eventually, mostly because I was starting to lose the feeling in my arms. I couldn’t even really say anything without tears getting in the way so I just stood there, awkwardly, sniffling.
“Let’s go home, yeah?” It was the guy, Happy, that suggested it. “Tickets, then showers, then clothes, then sleep. Both of you.”
“I could sleep for a lifetime,” I mumbled.
I don’t remember much else. I ended up between Flash and Brad, which wasn’t too bad considering Flash has comfy shoulders and the more I slept the longer I could ignore Brad. I kind of figured it was inevitable, Brad stopping me to finally have a talk, but I was hoping to avoid it.
“Why do you hate me, Y/N? I’ve tried to be nice to you, and all you’ve ever done in return is throw it back in my face.”
“Can we not do this right now, Brad? Or ever, for that matter?”
“No.” He grabbed my arm as I tried walking away. “I deserve an answer.”
I was exhausted. I was pissed. My mind was not in a good state. And I may have felt how real Brad was, but that didn’t stop my skin from crawling when his hand grabbed me.
I wrenched my arm out of his grasp. “I don’t owe you shit. Just because you deserve an explanation doesn’t mean I have to give you one.”
“You’re a first rate bitch, you know that?”
“And he finally drops the nice guy facade.” I probably shouldn’t have gotten so close to him, but I was not in the best state, mentally. Despite that little voice in the back of my head, I took a step closer and nearly bumped chests with him. “You’ve been trying to keep up this act so they can accept you, but you’re doing a real shit job at hiding the fact that you believe you’re just a scared twelve year old to these people. You’ve been letting their opinions about you control your life and it’s exhausting.”
“Like you’re any better.”
I took a step back and a deep breath. “If I let their opinions of me control my life I would’ve been dead a long time ago.” I shrugged. “I know what I am to them, and there’s nothing to change it. But that doesn’t mean I have to seek their approval. They’ve already made their decision about who I am - I have my whole life to make mine.” I shoved past him and finally made it out of the airport, just in time to see Peter give MJ a small peck before going to his aunt. Another punch to the gut. Reality: 1, Y/N: 0.
“Y/N! Sweetheart! We were so worried.” My parents, bless their souls, ran up to me and wrapped me in their arms. I would’ve burst into tears right there if Happy didn’t make eye contact with me and hand me a business card behind their backs. He lifted his hand to his ear and mouthed, ‘call me,’ to which I nodded simply for lack of a better response. “Let’s get you home,” they insisted. I was ushered into the car and driven straight home, but I didn’t hear a word they said.
My own parents don’t know what I can do. I could’ve died and they would never know I had abilities.
Holy shit.
I could have died.
“Stop the car.”
Dad looked back in concern. “Y/N, are you okay?” Of course I wasn’t okay, I was asking you to stop the car in the middle of the freeway.
“Dad, stop the car, I’m gonna be sick.”
He pulled over and I jumped out and emptied the trashy airplane food from my system. How could it be legal to serve that to people?
“Y/N?” Mom put a hand on my back and I almost lost it again. “Let’s get home and we’ll talk. Okay?”
Wow, did we have a lot to talk about.

Marvel (Thor Ragnarok) oneshot
For anon
Summary: Thor sets you up on a date with Hela, and everything seems to go well until old high-school ‘friends’ interrupt your meal.
Characters: Hela x fem!reader, Thor, former high school friends (I haven’t given them names or too much detail, so imagine whoever you’d like :) )
Word Count: 2,107
Warnings: uh, annoying high school girls?
“Are you sure about this?”
“Of course!” Thor responded, trotting next to you. “Trust me, you’ll love her.”
“Hm, why am I finding that so difficult to believe?” you huffed, pulling at the sleeves of your shirt as you walked down the street. “If she’s anything like her brothers, I doubt I’ll be able to sit across from her without slapping her across the face immediately.”
“Very funny, Y/N,” he responded. “Give it a chance, will you? You’ve been single for forever. And Hela’s been single for, well, eternity.”
“I can’t help but wonder if this is just a scheme of yours and Loki’s to try and keep Hela off your butts from what I’ve been told.”
The God of Thunder shot you a look as he led you inside a diner, winking at a few passing people who squealed in delight at recognizing him. You rolled your eyes.
As the two of you waited at the front of the diner for your date, you shuffled nervously, hugging your purse tightly.
“Just don’t question her power, you know?” Thor was going on about all the tips he could think of so Hela wouldn’t accidentally kill you and everyone else enjoying their lunches.
“And don’t bring up family, bit of a sore topic that. Steer clear of Asgard and the Avengers, she’s still a little salty about not getting to rule it and such. Oh, and don’t talk about me or our brother too much, she finds us really annoying.”
“I wonder why?”
“Haha,” he said, bumping your arm. An easy silence fell between you two, and you glanced around to see anyone that might stick out to you as a god.
“What does she look like?”
“Oh, irritating, mostly,” Thor sighed. “Like an absolute pain in your ass, completely incoherent of understanding other people’s lives-,”
“Stop it, you doof,” you said, shoving him lightly. “I’m serious.”
“Right, well she looks a little like Loki- same dark hair, love the colour green. Bit of a copy cat if you ask me. Tall, just as tall as me-,”
“Intimidating, cunning, and absolutely bored to death by her little brother’s dialogue,” a smooth voice spoke up behind you. “Is this her, then?”
You turned around and stared, stunned at the sight in front of you. She was tall, with black boots adding an inch or two so she towered above you. With a tight, dark green tank top hugging her curves and showing off her toned arms and a pair of black leather pants she looked, frankly, delicious.
You swallowed thickly and blushed as you met her gaze, piercing green eyes framed by a mess of black waves.
“Hello sister,” Thor said dryly. “This is my friend, Y/N. Treat her nicely.”
“Oh, don’t worry little brother. I don’t bite... often.”
She gave you a coy smirk and you felt your face become even more flushed. Thor clapped your shoulder.
“Right, I’m off then. You two have fun,” he shot his sister a warning look and she smirked back before he was gone.
“Should we find a seat, darling?” Hela began, pressing a hand to your back. You nodded meekly as you watched her. She moved swiftly like a cat waiting to pounce. Either way, her sudden touch on your body sent your heartbeat into a wonderful overdrive as the hostess led the two of you to a booth.
-
“Do you do this often?” Hela asked, grumbling as she scanned the menu.
“What? Dating?”
“No, ordering food like this,” she said. “How are you supposed to just pick one?”
Her dark eyebrows were furrowed intently and you couldn’t help but giggle, making her look up.
“We can split an appetizer first, if you want,” you offered. “You don’t have to just pick one, but it’s not very common to go scrounging on like, three meals at a restaurant.”
She hummed in acknowledgement, her gaze flickering down to the menu again, almost nervously.
“So what would you like to start with?” you asked. “The calamari is pretty good, unless you don’t like fish? Maybe nachos...”
“What are nachos?”
You blinked at her, stunned once again, but for a completely different reason. This time you burst into full-on snickering that didn’t dissipate for a solid few minutes, with Hela staring at you in confusion until you were done.
“What?”
You patted her hand. “We’re getting nachos. I can’t believe you’ve been on Earth with those two knucklehead brothers of yours and you haven’t ever had nachos.”
Hela was looking at your hands touching before a grin split across her face and suddenly she seemed more at ease.
“Nachos it is.”
-
Your meal with Hela was going wonderfully, which was a surprise for both of you. You steered clear of the advised topics that Thor had told you about, but found that conversation flowed easily enough without it; Hela was more intrigued about Earth and your every day routine than any realm-enslaving conquest she’d ever been on. When Asgard did come up, it was always in passing, or by her own choice, and you listened whenever she spoke of it, holding her hand tightly.
You learned her favourite colour is green, that she had a pet wolf named Fenris that she couldn’t wait for you to meet and that she’d only been on Earth for a little while, so she wasn’t really sure how to act human around everyone.
Nodding along, your hands intertwined easily and automatically. Hers were cool to the touch and you found yourself tracing her figure with your eyes as she spoke. The conversation turned to you, talking about your upbringing, and you were eagerly talking to her about your life when a high-pitched, god-awful squeal caught your attention.
“Oh my god! No way! Y/N?”
Rising from a table a bit further from your booth was a trio of girls from high-school that you’d hardly talked to since graduating. Your stomach plummeted; they were the exact few ‘friends’ that you had during your four years that you avoided after leaving that school behind once you realized how horribly toxic they really were.
Your face paled as you forced a smile on your face, and your fingers suddenly had Hela’s hand in a trembling death-grip. She noticed, eyes scanning between you and the group, silently watching.
“Girl, it’s so great to see you! How long has it been? God, you look so different than you used to!”
You grimaced and said a weak ‘hi’ to them. You pulled your hands from Hela’s and buried them under the table to wring them together, sweaty and trembling.
“What are you up to these days? Do you work in the city? I never would have thought you would have made it, you know? None of us could have imagined it in high school! You were always so weird back then, right?”
The same preppy tones, glamour bags and glittery lip gloss stared at you like demons coming to haunt you again. You had been much different than their clique from school, and yet you had found yourself wound up in their drama and constant bickering anyways.
Through your haze, you made out a clear, cool voice from across you speaking up.
“I’m sure Y/N wasn’t anymore weird than anyone else who went to that school of yours,” Hela chipped in. You came back to reality to watch Hela speak with the leader of the girl group, a loud and pretentious girl who had a way of making everyone feel useless without trying. Yet your date was staring at her with a feline look, waiting for something to happen.
“And who is this, Y/N? Your girlfriend?”
“I’m Hela, pleased to meet you,” she ignored the question and reached to shake the girl’s hand. In a split second you saw her face contort in an ungodly pain from Hela’s grip. She struggled to pull her hand free and when she did she was huffing, clearly offended. You smirked a little.
“Huh, quite a grip there, lady. Martial arts?”
“No, just a lot of experience killing people.”
The girls chuckled nervously. “What, are you one of those Avenge folk or whatever?” they scoffed, cackling amongst themselves as if they had made the best joke of the century.
“No, but Thor, who spends a lot of time with them, is in fact my brother.”
“O. M. G. What! You know Thor? As in God of Thunder? Like, super-hot blonde dude with a hammer and stuff?”
“That’s the one. Although he seems more fond of Y/N than me, sibling-rivalry and all that.”
In an instant you were bombarded with questions how did you meet him? is he really that hot? god! isn’t he an absolute dream? c’mon Y/N let us meet him you owe us that much at least.
Your heartbeat sped up again and you found it difficult to breathe, clamping your hands together. Your leg was bouncing up and down until you felt a heeled foot press against your calf, rubbing up and down soothingly.
“If you’d like, I could introduce you much faster you know,” Hela drawled, drawing their attention like a predator playing with its prey. “I can easily summon him if you want to come outside for a second. It’ll be too much of a commotion indoors.”
They were scuffling about like puppies begging for snacks as Hela stood up, towering over them. You felt nervous, wondering what she was going to do but she turned to you and winked before saying,
“Be back in a minute, babe.”
Once you got your bearings again, you shot up from your seat to follow and hurry outside, afraid to find three corpses littered on the street. You hated high school bullies, sure, but not that much.
As soon as you stepped out the front doors, high-pitched screaming erupted from the streets and you watched all three girls scamper for their lives, away from Hela and a massive black wolf that was growling and roaring at them by her side. A shimmering portal was pulsing behind Fenris, and Hela was nearly doubled over in laughter as they ran.
When she saw you approach nervously she stretched out a hand.
“Don’t worry, he doesn’t bite either, unless I ask him to.”
She gave you the sweetest of smiles and your anxiety melted away. You placed your hand in hers and she pulled you closer to pet Fenris, who nuzzled your palm.
“Off with you, now,” Hela said, patting the wolf’s head. “You don’t fit anywhere in this world.”
Fenris purred in protest and Hela tutted. “Now, now, I’ll visit soon. Thor keeps telling me if I bring you here they’re either going to hunt me or fear me, and apparently that’s not what the Avengers want right now. Scram now.”
Fenris turned like a wounded puppy and you giggled as he grumbled, before stepping through the portal and disappearing.
“You alright, darling?” Hela asked suddenly, standing much closer than before, her face inches from yours.
“Y-yeah, I think so. Now that they’re gone.”
“They were absolute bitches, you know that?”
You laughed softly. “Yeah, they’ve always been like that.”
“Were you really once friends with them?”
“Yeah, surprisingly. I was a different person back then, and a lot of things happened that just weren't right. Eventually I locked them out of my memory but seeing them like that; that was the best revenge ever.”
“I’m glad you liked it. Though I’m afraid when Thor gave me a blueprint of ‘typical first dates’, summoning a giant wolf and scaring off old bullies wasn’t anywhere on the plan.”
“Oh, that’s alright. Regular first dates are boring anyway.”
She grinned again, a hand snaking around your waist and pressing a kiss to your forehead. You sucked in a breath.
“I couldn’t let them stand there and belittle you like that, it angered me so much.”
“Hey, at least you didn’t kill anyone,” you said, poking her playfully. “I consider that progress.”
She smiled at you.
“I had a wonderful time, Y/N.”
“Me too,” you breathed, before leaning up and pressing your lips to hers this time. She held you tightly as you kissed, her cool touch making you relaxed and dizzy all over.
You pulled away and brushed your hands through her hair, feeling the soft textures run through your fingers.
“Does that mean a second date is in order? Thor said a first kiss shouldn’t be until the third date, at least.”
“Thor is an idiot,” you mumbled against her lips. “I may owe him one for the best first date ever, but he’s terrible with dating advice.”
A/N: this was so much fun to write! thank you for the anon who prompted this <3 i don’t know about you, but I definitely had some specific people in mind when writing the hs girls and it made me very satisfied to write them running for the hills. let me know what you think folks!

euphoria
euphoria: (noun) a feeling or state of intense excitement and happiness [until it all crashes down]
[the aftermath of chat blanc]
(ao3)(ff.net)
-----
It haunts him: the dream he can’t remember, the one he can’t quite place. It haunts Adrien in the way he lives his life, but the seconds don’t always add up just right. Kagami blinks, her laughter short and precise, but there’s a glitch in reality when he feels nothing when he sees her smile.
“Adrien? Are you listening?”
His heart hangs heavy, unease a constant friend as he tries to muster up his own grin. “Of course,” he says. He grabs her to assure her. “But can you tell me your story again?”
They are having a study date. Their new relationship is precious and safe, but precarious when life reminds him of glitches, of mistakes, of all the things he can’t name. It itches his brain, forgotten memories, a funny thing that claws his patience.
Kagami narrows her eyes, the sharpness cutting through all nightmares that cling to daylight. Cool hands touch his cheek. “Not sleeping again?”
He places his palm over hers, relishing in the anchoring realization that her fingers fit perfectly between his. “No, no. I’m fine. You’re here and I’m fine.”
He means it.
“I’m happy that we’re able to be together, Adrien. You make me happy.”
He takes her palm and kisses it, his heart fluttering at her bashful smile.
Afternoon sun looks good on her cheeks, flushed and pink like a premature sunset. Adrien counts his blessings, thanks the heavens that their paths have met. Being with Kagami is akin to freedom, to having someone who truly understands him.
Even if, even if--
Adrien feels like he’s suffocating by a gravity that shouldn’t exist.
---
His dream plays on repeat. He falls in love with Ladybug for who she is and she falls in love with him for who he is and everything is perfect. His heart fills to the brim with adoration because she cherishes him more than anything, wants nothing but the best for him. There is no shame in his desperation when he soaks up her love like a drowning man needing air.
Their partnership effortlessly transitions to their civilian lives as he holds her close as they dance. Her every embrace is more precious than gold and her silvery smile paints his heart bold. Their friends are happy for them, her parents adore him, he feels like his world is entrenched in love in all ways. Friendship, family, romantic: all intersect in his beloved heroine.
He tells her he loves her with every breath and she does the same.
And nothing is more perfect, but he never remembers her face or her name.
It’s lunchtime as Marinette strides to the table, her back straight and confident. Her face, however, is red, her fingers trembling as she sits down to Alya. Both Nino and Adrien stop talking, curiosity getting the better of them. She is a paradox of timidness and boldness that seems echoing familiar.
“I--,” Marinette starts, her blue eyes marvelous and bright.
It’s the glitch in reality again, Adrien realizes. Sometimes when he looks at Marinette, she takes his breath away, like the far off dream becomes tangible because she exists. Marinette makes the glitch painful, like a sting that swallows him for wanting to change anything.
Alya gives her friend a patient smile. “What’s up, girl?”
The world pauses for a moment as Marinette loses all former shyness, it slides off her skin and she is born anew with a deep breath. Marinette beams, beautiful and stunning. “I—I told Luka how I felt about him and now—now we’re dating!”
Alya’s jaw drops, “You told a boy you liked him without me poking and prodding you!? What? Are you sure you’re Marinette?!”
Marinette nods, giggling and nervously tucks hair behind her ear. “I did. Just—took that leap, you know. Got out of my head. Like you always tell me to.”
“Way to go, Marinette!” Nino praises. He reaches across the table and pats her shoulder. “Never thought I’d see the day. You know—considering the last boy you liked—ouch!--I mean, you know, since you can be a bit shy around guys.”
Alya’s glare burns, but Adrien feels like he’s missing something when Marinette ducks her head and avoids his eye.
She smiles all the same. “Yeah, I know what you mean, but this time, it’s different. Luka is a nice boy and I like him. I can talk to him...”
Something is pressing on his heart again, the way that Marinette seems at ease. Adrien doesn’t like it, but he doesn’t know why this entire conversation makes him feel like he’s breathing concrete.
“Congratulations, Marinette,” he manages to say.
Her blue eyes fall to him and he feels breathless again.
“Thanks, Adrien.”
---
Sunset is warm over Paris, but deep down, he feels cold.
Knuckles knock on the side of his head. “Hello, Earth to Chat Noir! Are you even paying attention?”
Chat Noir blinks and finds Ladybug’s intense stare studying him too close. It’s the glitch, he tells himself, the dream can’t be real.
“Funny you say that. My girlfriend said the same thing to me recently.”
Ladybug stills for a moment. “Girlfriend?”
He swallows. “Yeah. I asked her out a few weeks ago. For real this time! You know her act--”
Ladybug puts her hand over his mouth and Chat Noir stops breathing. “Don’t tell me who it is! If I know her, then I’ll know her boyfriend too. We can’t know each other’s identities!”
He rolls his eyes, the cold in his bones too much compared to the warmth of her hand. “Yes, yes. I know. You’ve made it very clear.”
Ladybug smiles, but it is wobbly at best. “Not because I don’t want to know you, Chat Noir. There’s no one more precious to me than you.”
Chat sighs and pulls her into a hug. “You think too much, has anyone ever told you that?”
Finally, she laughs. “All the time.”
---
Saturday night is blissful, with city lights being the only stars that they need.
Kagami lets go of his hand, rushing forward to embrace her friend.
“Marinette! I’m so happy to see you!”
Marinette stumbles and peaks over his girlfriend’s shoulder. “What happened?”
Adrien winces and rubs the back of his neck. “She’s a little drunk.”
“A lot drunk! It tastes like juice, Netta. Like juice. There was a whole bowl of it!”
Marinette laughs, her pajamas the same pair he remembers from the last time. “Well, I somehow convinced your mom to let you spend the night at my house so why don’t we get you some water and get you to bed.”
Kagami pulls back and grasps Marinette’s shoulders. “Only if Adrien tucks me in.”
Marinette shoots him a pleading look and Adrien jumps right in. “Of course, Kagami. Anything you’d like.”
Kagami swings and hugs him instead. “Me.”
“Wha--”
Marinette stifles a laugh. “Oh my god, Kagami, I hope you remember this because you’re going to die.”
Marinette pulls his girlfriend by the hand and the three of them walk upstairs quietly trying to not wake up the Dupain-Chengs. Adrien learns quickly that Drunk Kagami is nothing like normal Kagami.
She has zero impulse control. Such as when she tries to engage everyone in an impromptu fencing match wielding a ladle.
“Kagami, no!” Marinette quietly scolds. “We can fence tomorrow. It’s bedtime now.”
Kagami shakes her head. “I don’t want to go to sleep. Not until I see Adrien leave.”
“I thought you wanted me to tuck you in?”
Kagami sighs and twirls the ladle in her hand. “I do, but...”
He reaches forward and stills her hand. In the background, he hears Marinette looking for something.
“What’s wrong, Kagami? You can talk to me.”
Kagami swallows, her drunk eyes glossy. “I know. But Marinette might still like you.”
His heart freezes the exact second Marinette drops something, muttering  shit .
Tension rains down in the kitchen for a beat before Marinette clicks her tongue. “I don’t like Adrien anymore, Kagami. Don’t worry. I’m with Luka now. I like Luka.”
There’s the glitch again and the dissonance of this moment strikes Adrien as wrong, wrong, wrong. Nothing about what was just said was right and he can’t breathe, he can’t breathe, he--
Kagami looks soulfully at Marinette and everything is wrong.
“Here, drink some water, Kagami,” Marinette gently says. “I just want you to feel better, okay?”
Kagami nods and takes the glass. “Thanks, Marinette.”
Adrien catches Marinette’s eye and she smiles, soft and sad. “Anything for my friend.”
---
Adrien dreams that night, but everything is wrong.
His love is—dead.
Because of him.
Ladybug is dead because of him.
The world ends because of him.
A distance grows between him and Ladybug, between him and Marinette and no matter how much he tries to forget, Adrien believes his life is in a constant glitch.
In his dream, he kisses his Lady soundly on the mouth as he has done countless times. They are civilians again and they are cuddling in the grass watching clouds go by. This date is like any other, perfect and serene.
“I love you so much. I don’t think you understand.”
She laughs, clear as a bell. “I think I do. I’d do anything for you.”
“Anything?”
She snuggles into his chest and hums. “Yes. As long as it means you’re happy.”
“I’ve never been happier than I’ve been with you.”
“Good,” his Lady says, but there is a silence that follows as her fingers curl into his shirt.
“But what?”
“But if we’re no longer together, I want you to be happy then too, okay, Adrien? Promise you’ll try to be happy.”
“M--”
“Promise me, Adrien. Be happy. Be free.”
He frowns. “Fine. I promise.”
She kisses over his heart. “Good.”
“Anything for you, my love.”
---
Waking up crashes down on him as his dreams fade away.
Eyes wide open, he stares at the ceiling.
“Ladybug knows.”
---
It haunts him, the glitch. The memories from then till now loop in his head, but remembering two timelines proves difficult as he paces a rooftop in the middle of the night.
“She has to know. She has to know,” he says to himself.
The moon is swollen, a painful doppelganger to his other life. Chat Blanc’s melancholy melody that echoes in his bones.
The yo-yo whirls past him, clinging to a rail for Ladybug to grapple. She swings up with ease, caution in her posture. She’s poised to greet him with friendliness and cheer, but her face pauses with concern.
“Everything okay, Kitty?”
“It’s real, isn’t it? You and me. Us. We were together, weren’t we?”
She stills, the way her eyes refuse to look at him rings loud with silent truth. “Enough to know it was real...but don’t worry, I don’t remember who you were...are, I mean. I don’t know who you actually are. I don’t have memories of it though. Just that...I know that we happened.”
“So you’ve known? How long? When?”
“I’ve known for a while now. Bunnix came and got me to fix the timeline.”
“So, I really destroyed the world.”
“Yes. No. No, Chat. It’s my fault. I destroyed it. I used being Ladybug for my own purposes. I wanted to tell a boy that I liked him, but I used Ladybug to do it.”
“What?”
“I used my powers to sneak around instead of telling him how I felt...”
He can’t breathe. “Does he know? This boy? Did you ever tell him?”
“No. I couldn’t. Because—I made the world end.”
“Ladybug—but that means, Ladybug. How did you make it not end?”
She smiled softly. “I had to erase my name from a present. Pretend it came from someone else. Somehow giving him the present helps us get together.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah, I haven’t really figured out the entire timeline of that. But, all I know is that in the other timeline, our love…it caused so much pain. Is it? Are we really worth that?”
“You’re worth anything, Ladybug. Don’t you know that?”
“I’m really not. I’m not worth the world ending. We have...we can’t fall in love, Chat. Don’t you see? Us in love ruins everything.”
“That can’t be true! It can’t be--”
“Chat Noir!” she shouts. “Believe me, I wonder about it too. I wonder what we could have been! Chat Blanc—he was so kind, so true. I wonder what it meant to be in love with him. To somehow have all my dreams come true. But it’s not worth it. Not with everyone’s lives at stake. We can only keep the people safe. That’s our duty. No matter what we want, we are superheros.”
Chat Noir wants to argue, but he deflates. “It’s over, isn’t it? What could have been us?”
Ladybug sighs and cups his cheek. “In this life, we can be happy enough. I don’t need the moon and stars, I just want a chance to be.”
“I feel like we’re breaking up. Is that silly?”
“It seems like that, huh? But we won’t. I can’t lose you, Chat Noir. There’s no one I’d rather have at my side.”
“There’s nowhere I’d rather be.”
---
Adrien accepts the dreams, accepts the glitch of all things that cannot be.
Moving on from Ladybug is painful, simultaneously in pieces, but whole as they fly through Paris together. There is beauty in their friendship, in their partnership that weathers every storm that Hawkmoth throws their way. He’s lucky enough to know her, to have her back when everything is going wrong.
Moving on from Ladybug is painful, but life becomes more beautiful with Kagami, with Marinette, with Nino and all his friends.
They don’t know it, but they hold his heart up when it wants to collapse again.
Winter finds them with soft snow and hot chocolate to keep them from the cold. Kagami is tucked at his side in a cafe, the glitch a faint memory.
She laces their fingers together and peers up at him with soft, sweet brown eyes. “I love spending time with you.”
He kisses her bangs. “Me too.”
---
Later that night, it smacks him in the face as they try to dodge a rogue akuma. Maybe he’s deluding himself, but he needs to say this out.
“Oh my god, Ladybug! I figured it out!”
“You know where the akuma is?!”
Chat Noir laughs, ducking from a stray missile.“What? No! I figured out why we didn’t work out.”
“...are you kidding me?”
“Listen, listen. I’m being serious here!”
“And I am seriously trying not to get hit!” Thankfully, she uses a trash can lid to deflect a random ball.
“Ladybug, this is our bonding time. We’re gonna be fine.”
She growls and hurls the lid like a frisbee. “Okay, ol’ wise one, why did our love destroy the world?”
“Basically, if my calculations are correct, which they totally are--”
“Uh-huh.”
“Our love was basically an atom bomb from the get go. Plainly speaking, we just loved each other too much and we blew the world to smithereens.”
“Because I loved you too much?” she scoffs.
“You know, if you said that to me a few months ago, I would die of happiness.”
“Chat...”
“Okay, okay. But seriously. That was our problem. We loved too much without substance. While you only heard about us from Chat Blanc, I remember being with you. I would have literally done anything for you. Any-thing.”
She tugs at him and they end up nose to nose, an explosion happening in the background. “And what caused this great revelation?”
“I don’t know...just. My girlfriend, I guess? I like her a lot, but I feel like everything with her is a lot more...possible?”
“...that makes sense.”
“Yeah?”
She rolls her eyes for a moment, then thoughtfully hums.“Yeah. My boyfriend--”
“Boyfriend!? You never told me you had a boyfriend!”
He’s distracted for a moment, until she pushes him down, a stray projectile flying past above them. “Whoops. Sorry. But yeah. My boyfriend. He’s uh. He’s awesome. I feel like I can be myself with him. It’s nice not having to worry about being Ladybug, you know?”
“Yeah. I get that. When I’m not Chat Noir, my life is a lot more strict. My girlfriend gets that and we have a lot of the same interests.”
“Sounds like my friends. Their parents are beyond strict, but thankfully they have each other. I’m glad they ended up together.”
“Ha, is this the mystery guy you tried confessing to, but somehow wound up with me instead?”
Ladybug says nothing, but glares.
“Oh shit. Really?”
“Yeah...I was really in love with him and psyched myself out too much when I was around him. My other friend is better suited for him. I kinda gave up when I realized that. Which is okay! I’m just glad they’re happy. God, being young and in love is hard.”
The moment is a little too real, a bit too close to home to be comfortable.
“You want to know what’s not hard?” He says.
“What?”
“Being with you.”
“Oh my god. You’re going to fall in love again with me if you keep that up.”
He grins, his baton extending to catch an akuma. “Pretty sure that’s my line!”
---
It happens randomly over a weekend, but Kagami breaks up with him. January air is crisp as they walk hand and hand down the street.
“Mom is moving us back to Japan and well—we’re a little too young for long distance, I think.”
Adrien enjoys one more date, enjoys one more embrace.
He kisses her goodbye and he wonders if he would have ended the world for her.
---
Life continues and glitches go unspoken in Adrien’s life.
He spends time with his friends.
There are no more dreams about the timeline that never was.
He feels like his heart is finally moving on.
---
Until it doesn’t.
---
His world almost ends in Spring, the sun particularly scorching high on the rooftops. It is a standoff between Ladybug and Chat Noir against Hawkmoth.
This moment tastes bitter in his mouth, like he’s going to throw up for some reason.
Some taunts are said, some pleas are made, but nothing matters when Hawkmoth makes the first attack. Everything goes wrong when the Hawkmoth’s cane pierces Ladybug’s suit. Her stomach darkens maroon red as her face pales.
The world stops spinning as she falls to her knees and Hawkmoth stumbles back. It is almost as if it took this long for him to realize he’s been battling children.
“I—I didn’t,” the old man stutters, but Chat Noir ignores him as he files to his lady’s side.
He wraps around her and holds her close. “Get out here,” he says clearly. “If she dies, I will kill you.”
Something slides back into place with that declaration, like the glitch that never happened finally makes sense. Adrian would end the world for this girl, no matter what life they happen to live in.
“I’m gonna turn back soon,” Ladybug says. “I don’t want him to see him.”
Chat Noir scoops her up and leaps away, knowing for a fact that Hawkmoth won’t follow.
“Where should we go? Is there somewhere safe?”
Ladybug grunts for a moment. “Marinette’s room. The one above the bakery.
His fingers grip into her skin, just something to hold on. “She’ll help us?”
Ladybug sighs. “No, she won’t.”
He lands quietly on the rooftop, unsure why they’re here then.
Ladybug touches his face, her thumb smooth across his cheek. “Because I’m Marinette and I’m going to need you to help me, Adrian.”
---
Ladybug’s suit sparkles away and he’s left breathless.
The glitch comes back to stay.
---
It all happens so fast. The memories of before, Marinette’s face in center view. Getting Marinette’s parents to take her to the hospital. Their first kiss. The doctor performed a quick surgery. That last day.
Even no longer wearing the suit, Adrien can still feel her blood on his hands.
The hospital chairs are uncomfortable, but everyone sags with relief when the doctor says Marinette is in the clear. Her parents see her first, then Alya and Nino, and then finally, there’s a push at his shoulder.
He blinks and Nino nods to the door. “Marinette’s asking for you. You should go see her.”
Adrien walks to the door, every moment too surreal as his heart hammers in his chest. She sees him and smiles and gestures for him to sit.
“You know,” is the first thing he says.
“I know.”
He doesn’t have to ask for how long or how much because the brittle smile Marinette gives him is more than an answer enough. The room doesn’t have enough air in it and Adrien isn’t quite sure who is more fragile between the two of them.
He swallows, his mouth dry. “Where’s Luka?”
She gasps, and twiddles his fingers. “It’s too confusing to be with him...with all the memories. I’m sorry I didn’t understand before. To know and not know. It’s--”
“...agony,” he offers, his heart guarded.
She nods, her eyes a little teary. “I should have told you the truth sooner. I thought this was for the best.”
Adrian laughs and leans forward, dares himself to take her hand. “You need to stop thinking that you know what’s best for me. You always do that.”
“It’s because I--” her words die in her mouth, her fingers curling around his in panic.
He smiles and kisses her knuckles. “I know. Me too.”
He is quiet for a moment before he speaks again. “This time, we can take it slow. We already know what happens when we rush in. This is our timeline now. There’s no glitch here.”
And it is then, when Marinette looks at him, the sun is setting across Paris, that he finally understands love is less than euphoric and something more calm and consistent.
“I’d like that.”

"Why are people so hostile towards President Donald Trump?"
Chris O'Leary:
Before you pass my answer off as “Another Liberal Snowflake” consider that 1.) I'm an independent centrist who has voted Republican way more often in my life than Democrat, and 2.) If you want to call someone who spent the entire decade of his 20’s serving in the Marine Corps a snowflake, I’d be ready to answer the question what did you do with your 20’s?
Why Liberals (And not-so liberals) are against President Trump.
A.) He lies. A LOT. Politifact rates 69% of the words he speaks as “Mostly False or worse” Only 17% of the things he says get a “Mostly True” or better rating. That is an absolutely unbelievable number. How he doesn’t speak more truth by mistake is beyond me. To put it in context, Obama’s rating was 26% mostly false or worse, and I had a problem with that. Many of Trump’s former business associates report that he has always been a compulsive liar, but now he’s the President of the United States, and that’s a problem. And this is a man who expects you to believe him when he points at other people and says “They’re lying”
B.) He’s an authoritarian populist, not a conservative. He advances regressive social policy while proposing to expand federal spending and federalist authority over states, both of which conservatives are supposed to hate.
C.) He pretends at Christianity to court the Religious Right but fails to live anything resembling a Christ-Like Life.
D.) His nationalist “America First” message effectively alienates us and removes us from our place as leaders in the international community.
E.) His ideas on “Keeping us safe” are all thinly veiled ideas to remove our freedoms, he is, after all, an authoritarian first. They also are simply bad ideas.
F.) He couldn’t pass a 3rd-grade civics exam. He doesn't’ know what he’s doing. He doesn't understand how international relations work, he doesn’t understand how federal state or local governments work, and every time someone tries to “Run it like a business” it’s a spectacular failure. See Colorado Springs’ recent history as an example. The Short, Unhappy Life of a Libertarian Paradise And that was a businessman with a MUCH better business track record than Trump. We are talking about a man who lost money owning a freaking gambling casino.
G.) He behaves unethicaly and always has. As a businessman, he constantly left in his wake unpaid contractors and invoices, litigation, broken promises, whatever he could get away with.
H.) He is damaging our relationships with our best international friends while kissing up to nations that do not have our best interests in mind. To his question “Wouldn't’ it be great to have better relations with Russia?” The answer is Yes. But it is RUSSIA who needs to earn that, who must stop doing the things that are damaging to that relationship, or we are simply weaker for it.
I.) He has never seen a shortcut he didn't like, and you can’t take shortcuts in government. “Nuclear Option, Remove the Filibuster, I’ll change the Constitution by Executive Order…Don…what happens when you remove the filibuster and the other side retakes the majority in the Senate? Suddenly want that filibuster back? What happens if you manage to change the Constitution by Executive Order and an Anti-2A President wins the next election?
J.) He behaves and has always behaved as an unabashed racist. Yes, I’ve seen your favorite meme that claims he was never accused of racism before the Democrats…Absolutely false. Donald Trump’s long history of racism, from the 1970s to 2019 See the Central Park 5, the lawsuits and fines resulting from his refusal to lease to black tenants, the 1992 lost appeal trying to overturn penalties for removing black dealers from tables, his remarks to the house native American affairs subcommittee in 1993. The man sees and treats racial groups of people as monoliths.
K.) He is systematically steamrolling regulations specifically designed to keep a disaster like the 2007 subprime mortgage crisis from happening again.
L.) He speaks and acts like a demagogue. He sees the Legislative and Judicial branches of government as inconveniences, blows up at criticism no matter how deserved and actively tries to countermand constitutional processes, not to mention attempts to blackmail and coerce people who are saying negative things about him
M.) His choices for top positions, with the exception of Gen. Mattis, who is a gem, have been horrendous. A secretary of Education without a resume that would get her hired as a small town grammar school principal, A secretary of Energy who didn't know the Department of Energy was responsible for nuclear reserves, an EPA head whose biggest accomplishments to date had been suing the EPA on multiple occasions, an FCC head who while working for Verizon actively lobbied to kill net neutrality, and an Attorney General who thinks pot is “nearly as bad as heroin” and asked Congress for permission to go after legal pot businesses in states where it is legal. (There goes that great Republican States rights rally cry again, right? *Crickets*) An Interim AG after Firing his First AG who’s appointment is probably unconstitutional.
N.) He denies scientific fact. Ever notice that the only people you hear denying climate change are politicians and lobbyists? 99% of actual scientists studying the issue agree that it’s real, man-made and caused by greenhouse gasses. Ever notice that every big disaster movie starts with a bunch of politicians in a room ignoring a scientist's warning?
0.) He does not have the temperament to lead this nation. He is Thin Skinned, childish, and a bully, never mind misogynistic, boorish, rude, and incapable of civil discourse.
P.) He still does not understand that the words he speaks, or tweets, are the official position of 1/3 of the US government, and so does not govern his words. He still thinks when he speaks it’s good ol’ Donald Trump. It’s not. It’s the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. You have probably spread a meme or two around talking about how no president’s every word has ever been dissected before…YES, THEY ALWAYS HAVE. It’s just that every other president in our lifetime has understood the importance of his words and took great care to govern his speech. Trump blurts out whatever comes to his mind then complains when people talk about what a dumb thing that was to say.
Q.) He’s unqualified. If you owned a small business and were looking for someone to manage it, and an unnamed resume came across your desk and you saw 6 bankruptcies, showing a man who had failed to make money running CASINOS, would you hire him? He is a very poor businessman. This is a man it has been estimated would have been worth $10 BILLION more if he’d just taken what his father had given him, invested it in Index Funds and left it alone.
R.) He is President. But he refuses to take a leadership position and understand that he is everyone’s President. Conservatives complain about liberals chanting “Not my President” while Trump himself behaves as if no one but his supporters matter.
S.) He’s a blatant hypocrite. He spent 8 years bitching Obama out for his family trips, or golfing, or any time he took for himself, and what does he do? He was already on his 20th golf outing in APRIL of his 1st year in office. He constantly rants about respect for the military, yet can’t be bothered to attend the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day because of a little rain. (And that excuse about Marine One not being able to fly in the rain is HILARIOUS.)
T.) He’s a misogynist. It's not really ok in this day and age to be a misogynist, but it’s not a huge deal if you’re a private citizen. It’s a pretty big deal if you hate half the people you’re elected to lead. The disdain for women seeps out of his …whatever…. and he just can’t hide it.
U.) Face it. In any other election “Grab Em’ By the Pussy” would have been the end of that candidate’s chances. Back in the 90’s I used to marvel about how Teflon Bill Clinton was. I no longer do. The fact that he managed to slip by on that is as much a statement about how much people hate Hillary Clinton as it is about what is wrong with politics in this country right now.
V.) He has one response to a differing opinion. Attack. A good leader listens to criticism, to different points of view, is capable of self-reflection, tries to guide people to his point of view, and when necessary stands his ground and defends his convictions. Any of that sound like Trump? His default is not to Lead, its’ to attack. Scorched Earth. The Jim Acosta reaction is a good example. There was no defense of his convictions when Acosta was asking him repeated questions about his rhetoric on the caravan. His response was to attack Acosta.
W.) He takes credit for everything positive while deflecting blame for everything negative. Look at him with the Stock Market. He’s been bragging about it since day one, and to give credit where credit is due, speculation on coming deregulation early in his presidency did fuel some rapid growth, but to pretend that it’s all him, that we’re not in the 9th year of the longest bull market in history and THEN, when the standard market volatility that deregulation inevitably brings about starts to show up? Yeah. Look at yesterday. Hey! Stock Markets losing because the Democrats won! Do I need to bring out the Stock market chart for the last 10 Years again?
X.) He emboldens the worst among us. Counter-protesters are slammed into by a car while countering actual Nazi rally, and the response is there’s fault on “Both Sides” The media is at fault for a nut job sending them and Donald’s favorite targets pipe bombs. The truth is not all Republicans, not all Trump Supporters are racist, fascist lunatics. Many are just taken in by the bombastic personality and are living in an information bubble made worse by the fact that they unfollow anyone and ignore any source of information that makes them feel uncomfortable. People on the left do that too. The Biggest problem the right has right now is that the worst of the Right is the loudest and the most in your face, and the actual right, especially the Freaking PRESIDENT needs to be standing up and saying No. Those are not our values.
Y.) He seems to think the Constitution of The United States, the document that IS who we are, the document he took an oath to support and defend is some sort of inconvenience. He demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of Constitution, from believing he can alter the 14th through executive order, to thinking The free exercise clause in the first amendment somehow supersedes the establishment clause (not that he really understands either) or that the free exercise clause only applies to Christians. Or his attacks on freedom of expression and the press. He repeatedly makes it clear that if he’s read them, he does not understand Articles 1–3, and that’s something he really should have before he took the job, because they’re not going away.
Z.) I’ll use Z for something I do blame him for, but the rest of us have to carry the blame too. Polarization. This country is more politically polarized than I can remember in my lifetime. Some of you who are a few years older than I may remember how it was in the late 60’s when construction workers in New York were being applauded for beating up hippies, I think it’s pretty close to that right now, but that was before my time. And he is the cause of much of the current level polarization, but also the result. It didn't’ start with Trump. We’ve been going down this road I think since the eruption of the Tea Party in the early years of the Obama Administration. I do hope the tide turns before it gets much worse because the thing that scares me more than anything is what if that keeps going the way it has been? "

Of Food and Comfort - Part 12
Author Note:: You guys, this is the last part! I honestly do not feel 100% great about it, as if I could have ended it better but unsure how. I still hope everyone enjoys it! There is something else in the works now that I am excited to start sharing soon!
Here shortly I am going to take a small hiatus. I need to finish my Hobbit story (it has been neglected too long), and once it is finished I want to get back more into Marvel. I will be working in the background, but not posting until I have gotten everything else squared away. In the meantime, please tag me in Marvel stories you think I would enjoy! I want to read more fanfics and support writers on Tumblr, so I will be sharing more works as well.
Author Disclaimer:: Marvel and its characters are not mine. I take no credit. Instead I claim the maybe not so great plot, writing and characteristics of the reader insert character. I am not a die hard Marvel fan, I haven’t read all the comics, but have watched the movies. I may get some things wrong, so please don’t hate me. I also have been incorporating Old Norse as terms of endearment.
Summary:: You worked for Tony Stark as a…mechanic of sorts. Anything around the Avengers compound that needed a technicians touch, you handled. With working and living there, you had grown to be friendly with the super heroes. Of course you had grown to have feelings for one of them. The muscled Thunder God to be exact.
Rated:: M for Mature. Please do not read this story unless you are 18+. Smut. NSFW
Pairing:: Thor x Reader
Tumblr media
He looked different. The usually shiny bright warm blonde locks you loved running through your fingers was longer, darker and tangled together in messy strands and braids. It was the longest you had ever seen it, coming down just past his shoulders. Some of it was still bundled in braids behind his head. His beard was completely dark, and also very long. It came down past his neck and onto his chest in more intricate braiding. The new look, although a little ragged and dirty, was something you found you liked.
Everything else about him screamed different. It appeared he was dressed in oddly dirty large Earth clothing.
The only concerning thing you did notice was the once bright mirthful ice blue eyes were now dull dark blue like a stormy sky. One was even noticeably darker than the other, oddly…perfect? Now, these new hopeless eyes were starring right back at you.
Even with noticing all these things, you couldn’t help to feel significantly happier. The past months seemed to slowly fade into a blurry bad dream you had woke from. The ache didn’t matter anymore, what mattered is that he was back—home.
Steve had jumped to action, reaching down to pick up the broken mug at your feet and trying to hush Mjölnir who was still growling from the floor a little ways off.
The tremble started in your jaw before the tears. In one swift movement you were posed on your feet, mouth opening to say anything and everything all at once.
“Thor,” another feminine voice called out from the hallway, “I can’t find the bathroom. You said it was at the end of the hall?”
The happy warmth that had just filled you moments ago disappeared with such quickness you were convinced someone doused you in ice water. Your skin prickled with the change, eyes turning to take in the woman, the same woman you passed in the hallway on your way to the kitchen.
Without conscious thought, or ever seeing her before today—you knew who she was—she looked just as you envisioned. Taller, thinner, big eyes and plush lips with flawless skin and sleek brunette hair.
Jane Foster looked as you imagined. Though standing in your kitchen talking to Thor with ease is not what you visualized.
Your hands were shaking as they grasped the island, holding on for dear life when Steve’s head popped up with his stance.
“Steve Rogers,” he offered quickly, making his way around the island to meet Jane. “Let me show you where the bathroom is ma’am.”
The look of awe covered Jane’s face as she smiled awkwardly. Steve started to lead her from the room, but then popped back in a moment later, “If you need anything sweetheart, I’ll be in the living room.”
Just like that you were alone with this new Thor, just a handful of feet away from each other and awkwardly starring at one another.
He didn’t look excited to see you; he didn’t look even remotely happy. Instead he looked upset and forlorn. Why would he be happy to see you, not when he had Jane back? Why else would she be here, with him?
For five months you sat on this base, mourning him every single day—trying to remember the love you shared so that it would get you by until he returned. He finally returned and now you are trying to remember if the love was ever real.
Unconsciously you grasped at the collar of your shirt, checking to make sure the necklace he had given you was hidden underneath the fabric. You had worn the keepsake every day, wearing it even when you showered. It wasn’t uncommon for you to play with it throughout the day either. At this moment you didn’t want him to see it. For some reason it felt as if it were a weakness for him to see you cling to it so tightly.
The only conclusion you could reach was that you were a stand in for Jane. Everything had been a lie, especially when Thor had told you that he no longer cared for Jane in that way, he only cared for you, only loved you. It was confusing, because Thor never lied, but how could you believe it when it looked like he had been back on Earth for more than a few days and came back with Jane in tow?
You tried to picture how your reunion with Thor would be when he returned. You would throw yourself into his arms and tell him you missed and loved him very much. You would tell him that you didn’t care about how upset you would be separated from your friends and family—you would gladly move to Asgard because you couldn’t go without him like that again.
This isn’t what you pictured; heartbroken sitting across from him and rethinking everything that had happened within the past year.
“What happened?” The words came so softly from your lips, you coughed to clear your throat and croaked them louder when he didn’t reply.
Thor’s eyes fluttered close, hands coming up to cover his face while he took a deep breath.
As he spoke, more tears fell from your cheeks. The deep timber that you thought you forgotten brought back a rush of emotions, goosebumps crashing to the surface of your skin. His voice was just as deep as before, but full of defeat. It was like listening to an old sad country song you hadn’t heard since you were younger.
Once he returned to Asgard, he was immediately needed across the realms to fight another battle. Once one battle was over, he needed to go to another. It was as if wars were breaking out all around him. He was trying to prevent the downfall of the realms and Ragnarök.
Eventually he found himself imprisoned by a fire demon. He defeated the demon and returned to Asgard to find Heimdall missing and Loki posing as their father and leading the kingdom.
Forcing Loki to help, they left Asgard and found their father in Norway. Odin revealed that the brothers actually had a sister; one Odin locked away for becoming too powerful and using her powers wrongly. He was dying, and once he passed their sister Hela would be released from her prisons. Even though Thor fought hard to prevent Ragnarök, it was going to happen, and Odin wanted New Asgard to be in Norway on Earth because he thought it was beautiful.
It happened so fast. Odin passed on, and Hela appearing in his place almost. The Bifrost opened, leading Thor and Loki back to Asgard—but Hela followed.
The story began to become garbled as he spoke, almost as if he were grasping to remember the finer details himself in his grief and the order that they happened.
Hela destroyed Asgard’s armies. Thor’s friends were killed at her hand—and she had plans to destroy and conquer the rest of the realms.
Somehow in all this Thor and Loki found themselves separated, Thor on a ship and crashing on another planet. After emerging from his ship, he was captured and taken to the leader to be used as fighting entertainment. Not surprisingly Loki was there becoming good friends with the leader while pretending not to know Thor.
“Mjölnir was left behind on the ship,” he sighed. At his words, the dog perked up a bit, tilting his head in confusion on why a stranger was saying its name. “After I had freed myself and a few others from the fighting games, I was unable to get back to the ship I arrived on and retrieve it. I had tried summoning it, but it never returned.”
Since you needed to know the rest of the story, you kept silent. After he finished telling you what happened, then you would tell him you had the hammer.
The ship Thor found himself on with the other imprisoned fighters was intercepted by another ship. One that housed a talking furry animal named Rocket and a talking tree named Groot?
Thor admitted early on in his retelling of the past five months, that he lost track of days after his father passed away. So, when he and his other escaped friends were taken in by Rocket and Groot, he said he wasn’t sure if it had been months or years when that he had been gone. Time always traveled differently in space. If you didn’t pay attention to how many times you fell asleep and woke up, it was hard to keep track. The time with their new friends blended together so much and went on so long he had felt as if he would never return to Earth.
Thor described his time on Rocket’s ship as endless. They hardly ever stopped anywhere because their food supplies never seemed to deplete. He had vocalized that he was needed back to Asgard to defend it from Hela, even though it was so long ago. Before he could go back, he had needed a weapon since Mjölnir had been left behind.
The new group found themselves at a forge in space, getting assistance from a welding dwarf to create Thor a new weapon, one strong enough to defeat his sister since he sensed she was stronger than even him.
As he was talking about it, he lifted the large axe from the floor for you to see. It reminded you a lot of the hammer but had a wooden handle instead of a metal one. The handle looked like it was just chopped from a tree and slapped together. The carvings etched in it screamed familiarity, though were completely different than the ones on Mjölnir.
It was named Stormbreaker.
Your fingers traced the sleek metal of the weapon, eyes drinking in everything about it while Thor continued to speak.
He explained that their travels back to Asgard were just if the travels to the forge seemed. He still was unsure of how much time had passed.
After they arrived on Asgard, everything happened quickly. They found that Heimdall was trying to help the rest of the Asgardians escape to Norway with the Bifrost. Hela was fighting back, wanting the sword that controlled the Bifrost so she could start her plans to rage war against the rest of the realms.
Thor jumped in the thick of it, battling his sister while his friends and Loki were fighting her army of undead. In one particular moment, Hela stabbed Thor in the eye. This action led him to a vision of how to defeat her. Even with Stormbreaker, he was unable to wield the new weapon efficiently to land a deadly blow on her.
Thor told Loki to put a crown on a flame, knowing that this action was going to rebirth the fire demon who imprisoned him and bring on Ragnarök—bringing the downfall of Asgard.
As the demon and Hela battled, Thor helped Heimdall usher the surviving Asgardians through the Bifrost and to Norway, where Odin said New Asgard should be.
At those last words Thor said, you sat starring at the countertop, trying to take it all in. It sounded like a lot. He must be heartbroken over losing his father and his home. You found it unsurprising he was gone for five months and unable to get back—but was he gone for five months? He probably has been on Earth longer than a few days, especially if Jane Foster was with him.
“When did you get back to Earth,” your voice tried to break as you asked.
Thor coughed to clear his own throat, eyes latching onto Mjölnir the dog at your feet. You looked as well, to try and see what he was seeing. One very large black dog with thick fur, barring his teeth slightly towards Thor and a soft rumble.
That a boy, you thought, smiling softly. Protect your Momma.
“Ten days ago,” Thor said softly. “We arrived to Norway ten days ago.”
Thor had been on Earth for ten days. Clearly, he sought out Jane, why else would she be with him? The realization ate away at your chest, leaving you in pain and short of breath. So why were they here? All he really had here were clothes, clothes he could easily get anywhere else. He did have some belongings, but they were things you had given him.
A pair of sunglasses that were big enough to fit his head and cover half of his face for example. He found them amusing. You had bought him a handful of books about Asgard, and together you both read them (even the children’s books) and discussed what was fact and what was fiction. There were a few Nordic bracelets and clothing, maybe even some beads and hair ties you had gotten for his hair when he braided it.
Everything he had that wasn’t clothing, you had given to him. Thor didn’t keep materialistic things on Earth, because Earth was never really his home. All the thoughtful and meaningful items were in his room in Asgard. He had shown you’re his room once when you were there. It was decorated and personalized. Paintings of his family hung on the walls, old weapons or toys from his childhood. He even had a few Poptart wrappers hidden under his bed.
All of that was gone now. It burned with the rest of Asgard when the fire demon destroyed itself and Hela.
“I have something of yours,” you whispered, finally rising from the stool you sat on. You could give him one last thing that he hadn’t completely lost at least. Without having to ask, Thor trailed behind you as you lead the way back through the hallways towards his room. When you both passed the door to your old room, you took made a mental note to start moving your things back in there as soon as he and Jane left.
Thor made a weird grunting noise but didn’t say anything as he followed. Mjölnir put much needed space between Thor and you. As you both reached his room, you took one more deep breath before pushing forward.
Ever since you moved into it, it had been a state of mess. Dirty clothes littered the floor—well the clean ones did too. You were only able to tell what was clean by sniffing them. Mjölnir’s dog bed sat on the farthest edge of the room, covered in dog hair. Again, everything was covered in dog hair from the clothes on the floor to the sheets and blanket on the bed. Hell, even some dog hair was on the clothes you were wearing and surely in your hair.
You couldn’t help but think that this is what depression looks like.
The hammer was leaning against the vanity dresser you had brought into the room the first week you moved in. It hurt to look at all the photos of you and Thor when you walked towards it.
As your fingers touched the leather on the handle, goosebumps trickled across your arms and chest. This was the first time you touched it since bringing it home. Although you never said anything to the others, it scared you slightly with how you called the power of electricity and thunder like Thor would have. You weren’t Asgardian, you weren’t a God—you were lucky it didn’t kill you.
The hammer swung up with your arm as you presented it to him.
His eyes grew wide, a soft smile hinting at the corners of his mouth.
“Mjölnir,” he exclaimed excitedly.
The sight caused your heart to snag and pull. The last time you had seen that beautiful smile was just before he left. Just before the both of you had gone to bed that night, you found yourself settled on his chest, starring down at him while you both talked about anything and everything. You told him you loved him—and that’s when his face lit up brightly with excitement and joy.
At that moment the dog was on the bed, watching quietly until he heard his name. A sharp bark met the air, causing you to snap out of the trance you slipped into watching Thor smile.
Once he took the hammer off your hands, you stepped over to the bed and sat next to your dog, hugging him tight.
“How,” Thor asked confused.
“A month after you left Tony let me get a dog,” you started, taking a deep breath. You didn’t want to talk forever, you wanted to say as little as possible and leave. Running your fingers through Mjölnir’s thick fur helped you stay grounded. “I went to the park with him one day and he got loose. I called for him over and over again. The hammer showed up just before he did.”
Thor closed his eyes and gripped the handle on the hammer tightly. Then, he quickly turned and started to take in the room. Before he arrived, this room became part of your comfort. Now you were embarrassed that he was here witnessing your distress over him, especially since he moved on.
“You named the dog after the hammer,” he said quietly. “You moved into my room. You wear my clothes… You did not—you did not move on with Steve?”
“What,” you asked sharply, a little confused. “Move on with Steve?”
Thor sat the hammer on the floor, soon settling onto the ground with it. Now that he was in front of you without an island separating you, you could see he had gotten bigger—he wasn’t just wearing baggy clothes.
“When I arrived,” he said. “the Captain was not happy to see me. Your room was empty. He had your tea prepared for you and—and he called you—”
Thor stopped talking suddenly, hands clenching into fists on the tops of his knees. At a loss, you starred back at him. Was he getting jealous that Steve called you sweetheart?
Finally a little fed up with it all, you wanted to explode. You wanted to yell and scream and tell him to take his girlfriend and get the Hell out—but it was Thor. Even if you were heartbroken, you couldn’t ever treat Thor like that; you still loved him.
“I cried—I cried every damn day since you left,” you started off softly. With each of your words, your voice and anger showed itself. “Every. Single. Day. When that fucking hammer came back and you didn’t follow; I thought you were dead. I mourned you Thor! I still tried to hold out hope you were alive and would return. For five months, I never stopped missing you. Steve has been a great friend to me, keeping me company and making sure I’m okay—but only as a friend.”
The waterworks started when you told him you thought he was dead, and they didn’t stop. The dog had gotten up and off the bed when you started yelling about mourning Thor. Mjölnir hid in the closet and whined softly.
“Here I was, for five months, waiting for you to come back! And when you got back, you came back with Jane Foster,” you bit out scathingly.
Those are the words that broke Thor from his silence. He jumped up off the floor and stood before you with heat in his eyes.
“Jane brought me here because I asked her to, I didn’t know how to come back to you,” he hurried out. “I would have returned the moment I came back to Earth, but my people needed me. They needed a leader to talk to the Midgardians in Norway to gain assistance to build and regrow. Jane showed up four days ago. She sought me out when her science things told her the Bifrost opened for a long period of time. I did not seek her out schat.”
Even as the said the word, a broken sob left you. It had been so long since you heard it, you never realized you craved to hear him say it again. He had once told you it meant you were a very rare and good person. Even if it was a compliment that could be given to just anyone, he never used the word for anyone else but you.
He stood. You sat. Both still starring, both with tears in each other’s eyes.
“You weren’t happy to see me,” you cried out, hugging yourself from the bed while you tried to wrap your head around it all. Was it true? Thor had never been one to lie, but you couldn’t help but hesitate to believe him.
Suddenly Thor’s shoulders hunched in on themselves while he ducked his head.
“When I first arrived, I went straight to your rooms to find them empty. Then when you woke and came to the kitchens…I assumed you moved on with Captain Rogers. Seeing your beauty again reminded me that I am unworthy of your affection even if you had not moved on—even after I was gone for so long,” he said quietly.
It was like everything he said was confusing you. Thor sensed your confusion and looked away while gesturing to his middle and grabbing at his hair. “I have grown lethargic and heavy in my time on ships,” he muttered.
A sudden laugh ripped from your chest, a little hysterical in the mist of it all. Thor was implying that he had gotten fat and unappealing? You gestured to everything in the room and then enthusiastically to yourself. The last time you got on the scale a few months ago, you discovered that all the depressed eating had caused you to gain twenty-five pounds. You could notice it when you looked in the mirror. Your clothes were a little tight, so you wore Thor’s clothes more than your own. Self consciously it bothered you some, but not enough to actually care. The only thing you truly cared about was his absence.
Finally, you grasped at your hair that hadn’t been brushed in days. “I’m a mess Thor,” you cried softly. “I have been since you left! Do you see the room? It’s a pig sty. I can’t remember the last time I put on real clothes, I have left the base six times! Not to mention I haven’t stopped eating to fill the void, and I got fat—”
“You are a Goddess,” Thor’s deep voice commanded through the room loudly cutting you off. “You look more radiant now than the last time I saw you.”
The tears that had started to slowly wane suddenly burst forth again, eyes and face hurting from all the energy that went into crying. Being overwhelmed by everything wasn’t helping, by the fact that Thor was here, and he didn’t love Jane. He still loved you then?
He at last approached you, touching your shoulder softly and hushing you. “Please do not cry drottning,” he murmured. “We are together again. I have missed you.”
Without hesitation you crushed yourself into his front, hugging yourself to him as tightly as you could. This only caused you to cry harder. Getting tears and eventually mucus all over his already dirty sweater. It was worth it when his arms came around your shoulders to hold you closer to him.
It was odd, being pressed up against soft giving flesh instead of hard muscles you were used to as you leaned into his hug more. Other than the first note of the difference since the last time he hugged you, you felt completely at ease. This is where you were meant to be, where you craved to be for months. The warmth from him seeping into you. Soon your tears stopped to small hiccups, and you held him closely as you breathed slowly.
“You probably want to shower,” you said pulling away, fingers playing with the ends of his tangled hair, taking in the state of his clothes and feeling the grime in his hair.
“Will you be alright,” he asked, fingers coming up to tilt your chin up to meet his gaze. The first blush you felt in a long time dusted your cheeks at the action.
“Yes,” you breathed out. “I’ll be fine. We can talk more later. I really need for us to talk more later actually.”
He looked a little uneasy as you said this, arm wrapping around your middle again to urge you closer to him.
“Don’t worry,” you smiled softly. “I just what to know more about what happened…and more about Jane showing up. Trust me, I believe what you’re saying but I just feel like we should visit that conversation again. Is that okay?”
“Anything you want to ease your troubles,” he murmured, pressing his lips to your forehead quickly.
After you pulled away, you didn’t attempt to kiss him. It wasn’t that you didn’t want to, but that you felt that there was too much going on in your head to try and deal with the next emotional hurdle. Thor didn’t attempt to kiss you either, which you were thankful for.
“I’ll bring you some clean clothes in a second and set them by bathroom door,” you told him. “Are you hungry?”
Thor paused by the door to the bathroom, looking at his hands on the knob before answering, “That would be nice, I have not eaten today yet.”
You left to go look for clothes for Thor. Thankfully Tony Stark thinks of everything. In the training rooms on the ground floor you found all sorts of workout clothing from shorts, sweats, shirts and sweaters in various sizes. Tony usually kept it stocked in case new recruits were coming into train or simply if someone needed something to change into real quick and didn’t bring anything.
Not sure what size to grab, you selected a couple of different sizes in different styles for Thor to choose from before trekking back upstairs to drop them off to him.
Mjölnir was jumping excitedly and whining the whole trip. The poor dog probably really needed to relieve his bladder and you had stopped his whole morning routine when Thor appeared in front of you.
When you finally made it to the living room, you found Steve sitting across from Jane on separate couches and talking softly. “I’m going to make some breakfast,” you said after making an entrance. “Are either of you hungry?”
Steve smiled up at you and then glanced at Mjölnir, who was almost whimpering. “That would be great Y/N, thank you. Do you want me to take Mew-Mew out,” he asked.
At the word out Mjölnir completely flipped sideways in excitement.
“Please,” you replied in gratitude. “I would appreciate that.”
“Come on boy,” Steve clapped, “let’s go water the flowers.”
Just before you left for the kitchen, you turned to Jane. “You can come with to the kitchen if you want,” you offered, “or you could watch some TV. Not sure where the remote is.”
You were surprised when she smiled and got up to follow you.
It was a little awkward at first. You went about grabbing all the dishes and ingredients you would need to make breakfast while Jane sat silently at the island. Every once in a while, you would get and eyeful of her. She was dressed in jeans and a soft looking knit sweater, her hair clean and brushed with minimal makeup. All the while you were barefoot, in just an oversized Thor shirt and underwear. Messy hair and lack of shower aside, you felt a little gross in comparison to her.
“Sorry that I’m still in my jim-jams. We don’t get a lot of company in the living quarters,” you called out over your shoulder.
Jane laughed lightly, “You’re fine. This is your house, I’m sorry for showing up unannounced.”
A soft smile quirked your lips at her words, at least she was polite.
“Do you have a preference for breakfast? I was planning on making waffles with fruit, sausages and biscuits and gravy—but if you want something else, I can see what we have,” you asked her after putting some more mixing bowls on the counter-top.
“Oh! Thank you,” she said surprised. “I could go for waffles and fruit, that sounds wonderful.”
The conversation died out a little after that, which wasn’t the worst thing. Even if you held no ill feelings for Jane—because why on Earth would you—she still made you feel a little uncomfortable. Did Thor tell her about you, or did Steve?
Soon Steve let Mjölnir into the kitchen before disappearing. The dog was—as always—excited to see you. While he danced around you and tried to get pets, you would nudge him away with your hips because your hands were full of food or ingredients. “Go lay down,” you said with a laugh, “you will get your breakfast after we eat.”
Dejectedly, he walked off to the corner of the kitchen where he slid to the floor and rested his head on his paws.
“It’s really hard to hate you,” Jane said suddenly.
After throwing the biscuits in the oven, you turned to her somewhat shocked. You liked to think of yourself as a blunt person, but Jane seemed to take the cake and then some on the subject.
“Erm, I’ll take it as a compliment,” you asked confused.
“I just mean,” she sighed, playing with her cuticles on her fingers. “That—I—I ended things with Thor a while ago, because I couldn’t handle him being gone all the time. I knew eventually he would want me to move to Asgard with him, and my life was here on Earth. When I noticed the Bifrost open for more than a few minutes I knew something was wrong and flew to Norway without thinking about it.”
Trying not to be rude, you continued to prepare breakfast, but showed her you were listening to what she was saying but nodding and saying ‘okay’ softly.
“That told me I wasn’t over him,” Jane said with a broken laugh. “Who drops what they’re doing and flies across the world for their ex-boyfriend? He was really surprised to see me, and I tried to tell him I missed him—and all he said was that he needed to get back to you.
“I wanted to be jealous, to dislike you just for the fact that he was coming home to you. I was sure that the moment I walked in with him you were going to dislike me too—but, here you are, cooking me breakfast without a care in the world and being a genuinely nice person.”
Knowing that Thor just wanted to get back to you made you feel a little at ease again. The words tried to mold in your mouth before you said them. “Thor told me why you broke up with him,” you said. “I don’t dislike you Jane; you did nothing wrong to Thor. You were honest with him about your feelings and ended things, a very hard but mature decision. Unless you do something to hurt him or hurt our relationship, I have no problem with you at all. You seem like a good person, so I don’t see you doing either of those things.”
Soon she changed the subject and was telling you about some of the research she did. A lot of it was a little lost on you with her technical terms and some of the Astrology. You were more in tune with mechanics so some of what she was saying was familiar, at least with the machinery she uses. In turn you told her of some of the work that you did for Tony. It wasn’t as prestigious as the kind of science she was doing, but you enjoyed doing it.
Most of the food was done when Thor and Steve returned.
Thor looked much better than before. His hair was clean and brushed smooth, pulled into a bun at the base of his skull like normal. The beard that adorned his face was completely different than what you were used to. Simple braids pulled the beard together and down his neck.
Without thinking, you started to put a few waffles on a plate and placed it in front of where he sat at the island and then slid the bowl of mixed fruit to him. In return you received a small smile and nod of thanks from him. Soon he started to repeat his story about Asgard and traveling with his new companions to Steve and Jane.
Eventually his story melted into the here and now, discussing what they had accomplished so far in New Asgard and what, yet they still needed to do. Thor then started to lose enthusiasm for what he was saying, his words getting quieter and forlorn.
“When I return,” he sighed, “I must go trade with the people of Norway to acquire more food and supplies for Asgard. I only was able to break away after there was enough for a few days.”
That means he needs to go back soon. Maybe in a day or so it seemed. Dread started to fill you again at the thought, he only just came back to you—
“When do we need to leave,” you asked, pushing your half-eaten plate away.
“You will come with me,” he asked quietly. Thor’s hands had risen to rest on top of one another on the counter, fingers clenched together tightly.
“Of course,” you said easily, anxiety rushing through your veins at the thought of being without him again. “I’m sure if we ask Tony, we could borrow a quin-jet to get there faster. I don’t own a lot of stuff to pack so if I start now, I could get everything together by the end of the day. Just my clothes and some odds and ends, the furniture is Tony’s anyway. Whatever I can’t take right away I can come back for in a few weeks. We could leave tomorrow morning—”
“You want to move your things there,” Thor asked with surprise lacing his tone.
You had already gotten up and was bending over to lay a plate of food on the floor for the dog. Mjölnir bound over happily to start licking at the sausage gravy.
“Yeah,” you sighed standing back up. You had already committed yourself to moving to Asgard with him, what was the difference to moving to Norway to be with him. At least you would be on the same planet and could still call your parents. “I’ll need to notify Tony that I’m going to have to stop working for him, but I think—”
“You will leave here and come live with me in New Asgard,” Thor interrupted you again.
A little laugh escaped you at his antics. Although you were still an emotional wreck, you wanted to do everything you could to give your relationship with him a fighting chance. “Yes Thor,” you said. “If that is where you need to be, then I’m going to be there too.”
Thor’s arm slipped behind your back and pulled you down to settle across his lap. Warmth seeped into you from all around, his arms coming to squeeze you tightly to him. “You do not realize how happy this makes me schat,” he murmured. “I did not want to leave you again.”
It happened pretty fast after that. Tony and you had a long conversation about your work. When Thor had disappeared your work around the base decreased by half, so you felt bad when Tony was trying to offer you a severance pay for leaving. That is what took up most of the conversation at least—you fighting on taking the money. Other than that, you packed up all of your clothes and the little odds and ends you had collected over the years.
Even though you had said that you and Thor could leave that next morning, Thor insisted that you have another day to see the rest of your friends and bid them goodbyes. Not all of them were around much anymore, having moved out or going on more and more missions. With every teary hug and promises to call often, you reminded yourself that you would come visit and they could come visit you.
It wasn’t out in space, just over the ocean in Norway.
Tony graciously gave you a quin-jet and spent a handful of hours going over the controls and logistics of flying it. Since you refused to take a severance pay, he strong armed you into accepting the ship instead. All he had to do was tell you that it could be used to fly back over to New York in just a handful of hours; and you caved.
It took a little enticing with lunch meat to get Mjölnir to get on the jet. Once on it and you started up the engines, the dog howled in fear and cowered on the floor shaking. Thor held the dog close for the long four-hour flight it took to get to Norway.
He guided you from the co-pilot chair the entire trip, murmuring suggestions on how to handle the ship and directions. After landing, he slowly stood with the large dog in his arms as if Mjölnir weighed nothing and helping the dog to the floor gently.
The cool air touched your skin as soon as he opened the doors and lowered the ramp. It wasn’t as hot as it was in New York, but a nice spring-like warmth. The view took your breath away.
Bright green hills and cliffs lined the shoreline, making the ideal image of a small quaint fishing town. There were a handful of houses that had been built while some were still half built. Some older buildings were already established, but people were milling in and out of them with tools and cleaning supplies. Down the shoreline you found a handful of men and women tossing nets into the water and pulling them back in rhythmically.
Thor walked to the end of the ramp, looking back at you and offering his hand. “Come schat, let me show you our new home,” he said smiling.
Mjölnir barked, taking off down the ramp in excitement to get off the ship.
Suddenly you felt a little weightless. Maybe it was a giant combination of the weight of everything falling off your shoulders at once, the beauty of New Asgard, Thor finally here with you—offering you a new life with him.
The previous night you both stayed cuddling in bed whispering back and forth—the talk you wanted to have about what happened when he was gone. There were some more tears as you explained how heartbroken you were to see Jane there, that he was gone and how you were extremely happy to be home and so overwhelmed. Thor answered all your questions about his time gone and his thoughts on Jane. After the talk you felt more assured in his feelings for you, and lack of romantic feelings for Jane.
You were still a little overwhelmed, but as you slid your hand into his and took the first few steps off the jet—every breath you took was fresh and exhilarating. All while leading you, he pointed to some buildings and explained what he had planned for them. Numerous Asgardians waved in hello when you both passed.
After a time of walking he stopped in front of a white house with a lot of windows. It rose up slightly higher than the rest of the houses on a smaller hill, one large window facing the water. It looked partially finished. There was no roof, but different patched colored tarps covering the top.
“Some of the people of Norway offered to help build with us. The wood and materials that they gave us—we were unaware how to construct with it,” he said. “This…this in our home. It is not finished, but—”
“It’s perfect,” you interrupted him, smiling brightly. “It’s so beautiful here.”
“No drottning, it is perfect now that you and Mjölnir are here with me,” he murmured pulling you close. The words caused you to smile and run your fingers through Mjölnir‘s fur. Thor had grown to care for the dog as much as you had, it warmed you to know he was accepting of your fur baby.
“You never told me what drottning means,” you said teasingly he gazed down at you.
Thor laughed and pressed a kiss to your forehead. “It is a term of endearment; it translates roughly to ‘my queen’.”
“And schat,” you asked more breathless than anything.
“My treasure,” he murmured before pressing a quick kiss to your lips. “Come, I want to show you the view of the water from our home. We can make it our bedroom if you want.”

Let Me Make You Proud | Tony Stark x Son!Reader
Fandom: Marvel
Pairing: Tony Stark x Son!reader
Summary: (M/N) has always wanted to make his dad proud. He not only gave up any of his aspirations and hobbies so that he could fulfill that wish, but also a part of himself. What happens when his dad starts paying attention to someone else he considers a son?
A/N: I’ve been wanting to write this for a long time so I’m excited. Warning there is just a little bit of Peter hate, not his fault, we still love him in this household. Also Tony is kind of a neglectful parent so just warning you. We have to have SOME angst.
Tumblr media
(M/N) had just finished and turned in his essay which wasn’t due until next week. It was pretty simple to finish and now he can turn his attention to other things which were more important like these suit upgrades. Before he could get started he couldn’t help but have his eyes wander over to the small metal sphere sitting on his desk. This was the first BIG thing he ever made, it was just a small companion droid with an AI added into it, it was meant to be a friend for when you got lonely. He was so proud of it, he built it all without his dad’s or anyone else's help. He thought back to that day.
...
He had just finished screwing in the last bolt. “Done.” All that was left was to press the button and hopefully it wouldn’t blow up. It probably would. He stared at the bot for a while before pressing the button. The machine hummed and lit up. The machine was a large ball that when activated unfolded into a small robot with a face and arms.
“Hello. I’m PRYSM. Are you my friend?”
(M/N) could feel his smile growing. “Hello PRYSM. I’m (M/N). (M/N) Stark, and yes I’d love to be your friend. Come meet my dad!” He grabbed the little robot in his hands and dashed out of the room. He ran down to where he knew his dad was, the lab. Always the lab.
“Dad! Dad! Look what I made!”
Tony was hunched over his work bench typing away at something (M/N) couldn’t see. He didn’t even look up to see his son. “I’m a little busy right now bud, can it wait?”
(M/N) could feel his smile dropping. “Yeah...sure dad. What are you working on?”
Again without looking up from his work. “Important suit things. Can you please go upstairs? I need to concentrate.”
(M/N) was no longer excited to say the least. “Sure dad.”
The walk back to his room felt so much longer than it did, and PRYSM felt much heavier in his hands. Returning to his room he sat on his bed and sat PRYSM down beside him. “You’re sad. Why are you sad?”
“It’s nothing PRYSM. I just wish my dad would have looked at you.”
“He said he would later, what’s the problem (M/N)?”
“He lied PRYSM. He always lies.” He could feel the tears starting to build up in his eyes. Suddenly he felt arms wrap around him. He looked to see PRYSM hugging him.
“I’m sorry he lied. I’m sorry you’re sad. But I’m here! I’m your friend and if you want to talk I’ll listen.”
(M/N) couldn’t but help but let out a small huffed laugh and hug them back. “Thanks PRYSM.”
“Anytime.”
Snapping out of his thoughts he turned back to the plans. He couldn’t get his head into it no matter how hard he tried. He eventually gave up and walked out of his room. The tower had grown significantly ever since all the avengers moved in here but it did feel nice to have more people. However, even with more people he couldn’t help but feel more alone.
The avengers have all become like family to him and they all love him, he just wished his dad did too. He knows his dad loves him, but after a while you quit believing in fairytales. That won’t stop him though, he just wants to make his dad proud. That got a lot more difficult after the battle of new york.
New York was on fire. It had been a normal day, people going about their daily life when suddenly there were aliens descending from a giant hole in the sky. (M/N) was on his way back to the tower when it happened. He just started running as more and more things were destroyed around him. Some of the aliens had flown right above him as he kept running, all he had to do was get to the tower.
Just get to the tower. It was a simple plan but things could never just be simple could they. Just as the doors of the tower came into view one of those aliens jumped in front of him. It screamed at him and he took a sharp turn down one of the many allies of New York. He realized his mistake as he found himself at a dead end, he could hear the alien coming closer. “Fuck. What do I do now?” The alien finally reached him and raised it’s rifle at him. He brought his arms to cower expecting the sweet release of death, that didn’t come however. Opening his eyes he noticed he was surrounded by some sort of force field. The alien kept firing it’s weapon at the shield. “Stop!” He shouted and reached his hand out for the alien to stop but as he did that the force field shot out throwing the alien against the wall knocking it out. “What just happened?”
Of course he didn’t tell his dad. His dad hated magic, he was already thinking his dad hated him what would have happened if he told his dad he had magic? Everything he had been working on would have been thrown out the drain. He was still lost in his head when he entered the common room he hadn’t even realized someone was talking to him.
“Earth to (M/N). Hello.”
“What?” (M/N) focused his eyes and saw it was Clint talking to him.
He loved all the avengers but Clint was always his favorite. He was pretty much more of a father to him then his own dad was. He always made sure (M/N) was okay and being taken care of. The two had become so close Clint was the only one to know about (M/N)’s powers. He knew Clint had a bad time with magic thanks to Loki but he didn’t have anyone to talk to about it and just kind of spilled it on the poor man. Clint, being the amazing person he was, was incredibly understanding and supportive of (M/N) even offering to help him figure out how to control it. He really was (M/N)’s true dad.
“You look like you’ve seen a ghost. You okay kid?” Clint’s face held that fatherly concern.
“Yeah I’m fine. I was just thinking. Maybe I should get my head out of the clouds.”
“No way! When you have your head in the clouds you always come up with the best ideas.”
“You’re just saying that to be nice.”
“No seriously. Just look at PRYSM they’re amazing and you did that on your own.”
“Thanks Clint you always know what to say.”
“Anytime Kiddo. Seriously, always here for you.”
(M/N) continued on to the kitchen passing by some of the others like Steve and Natasha. Giving them a smile and a hello. The avengers loved him, but they also knew he was hurting. They tried talking to Tony about it but he only brushed them off saying (M/N) knew he loved him. They didn’t like that excuse so they took it on themselves to show their love to him. Entering the kitchen he was met with the grinning face of none other than the scarlet witch herself. “Afternoon (M/N).”
“Afternoon Wanda. Where’s Cosmo?”
“Very funny.” The two grinned at each other. It didn’t last long as her face dropped into a frown. “That spider kid is coming over soon.”
(M/N) looked down at the ground and crossed his arms. “Why? He upgrading his suit? Repairs?”
“I don’t know. All I know is your dad wants all of us to have, in quotes, a nice family dinner.”
“Sounds like the red wedding all over again.”
“Ha. I agree. I just thought I’d warn you.”
“Thanks wanda I guess I should prepare myself.”
“Don’t worry. It’ll be okay.”
“You say that now.”
He walked out of the kitchen and decided to go see what his dad was doing. To at least try and talk with him before Peter got here. Recently he has been spending more and more time with him and everytime he sees them together they look...happy. He would be lying if he said he wasn’t jealous of Peter. He pretty much got Tony to be his dad, while (M/N) was left behind.
As he approached the lab he heard laughing. Normally he would think it would be Bruce joking around with his dad, but this laughter wasn’t the same as Bruce’s. This laughter was a lot lighter. Peter.
He stopped at the door and listened in. Peter was in the middle of telling his dad some story about one of his patrols. “And then I tied up all the bad guys and saved the people. But I had to get out of there fast because the cops were rolling up.” Tony laughed at that. “You did good kid. I’m proud of you.”
It felt like the entire world stood still. Those were the words (M/N) always wanted to hear from his father, but never did. What he didn’t expect even more was the next exchange that came about.
“Thanks dad.”
“Anytime,son.”
It felt like a void had suddenly grown in (M/N)’s stomach. If they had been joking it would have been one thing. But there was no light heartedness behind those words, only love. Everything that (M/N) had been giving and trying to receive back for years was just exchanged like that with some kid who wasn’t his son. But apparently more of a son than him. He didn’t hear the rest of the conversation, he didn’t want to. He just let his feet lead him back to his room.
He stayed there locked in his room for hours. He thought of everything he had done in his life for his father. He gave up almost all of his hobbies: writing, painting, singing, all of it. He gave it up so that he could follow in his father's steps and giant shadow. He wanted to be able to show his dad that he could take over Stark Industries and hopefully make him proud. This isn’t the life he wanted, He wanted to be able to go out and see friends. To travel the world. To just be a kid. He just wanted to be loved by his father. It was like he was falling off a large building and there was no safety net to catch him.
He was woken up by a knocking at his door. He hadn’t even realized he had fallen asleep. The door opened and Clint popped his head in. “Dinner’s ready kiddo.”
(M/N) groaned. “Coming.” He got off his bed and followed Clint to the table. The table was enormous, it was of course supposed to fit all the avengers. Most everyone was already sitting. (M/N) couldn’t help but notice how Peter sat right next to Tony. In the seat (M/N) normally sat at. Fan-fucking-tastic. The only seats left really were at the end so (M/N) sat at the very end facing his father on the other end while Clint sat next to him. Luckily wanda was on the other side of him. At Least he has these two. Everyone started getting into their food. There were a couple conversations going on all over the table. Steve cracking jokes with Nat and Bucky. Bruce talking to Peter about some equation. The noise just kind of drowned everything out, until Tony’s broke through it all.
“So (M/N). How was your day?” It got very quiet at the table. It’s not like the two haven't talked but it never has been like how family talked to each other, more like acquaintances.
“It was fine.”
“That's it? Just fine? You were in your room all day. You should come out more.”
“I do come out. I just had a lot of work to get done today.”
“What kind of work?’
“Just a school Essay. I wanted to get it done so I could focus on other things.” He was focusing anywhere but his father.
“That’s good. Making sure to get the important things done. Very smart.”
It got quiet after that. You could pretty much hear a pin drop. Until Tony spoke up again. “So I wanted to get all of us together to have dinner because I have an announcement. As you know I’ve been trying to juggle both iron man duties and Stark Industries with Pepper but it has got to be just too much. So I have taken this time to step back from Stark Industries and I have decided on someone who I think can take good care of the company in my place...Peter.”
It was in the moment that (M/N)’s entire world shattered before him. Everything he had done, everything he had sacrificed had been for nothing. He tried so hard to make his father proud and this is what he gets. His father’s legacy given to a kid that swings around in a onesie.
“Pete and I have already talked about it. Pepper can handle everything on her own right now with some assistants but down the line Peter will take over-”
Tony was cut off by the sound of breaking glass. Everyone turned to look at (M/N) who was looking down, his fist was closed and the parts of his broken glass littered the end of the table.
“I’m done.” It was barely a whisper.
“(M/N)-” Wanda started to say.
“I AM DONE!” (M/N) shouted. “I HAVE GIVEN UP EVERYTHING FOR YOU! I HAVE TRIED FOR SO LONG TO MAKE YOU PROUD! ALL I HAVE EVER WANTED WAS FOR YOU TO LOVE ME AND YOU CAN’T EVEN DO THAT! NO YOU HAVE TO GO OFF AND REPLACE ME BECAUSE I AM SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT TO YOU! I’M FUCKING DONE!” (M/N) pushed himself out of his seat and started walking back to his room. Before he left the kitchen however, he couldn’t help but notice the lego death star that was built up, Peter had brought that over to show Tony. Fuck it, Fuck them. (M/N) let his powers loose and lifted the set before throwing it across the room letting it hit the wall, smashing into pieces.
“My lego set!”
(M/N) heard enough and walked off.
“(M/N)!” Clint called after him followed by Wanda. Tony just sat at the end of the table speechless. He didn’t realize he was hurting his son so much.
“You’ll be okay you know.”
(M/N) looked down at his friend and smiled. He kneeled down to talk to them better. “I hope so. I just don’t know if I’m strong enough.”
“You’re are. You’re strong enough and more. I know it.”
“Thanks PRYSM. You always know how to make me feel better.” After the whole dinner fiasco (M/N) decided to bring PRYSM back online. It had been years since their last talk. “WOW you’ve got sooooo big!” He loved that PRYSM still cared for him, even after everything. He made sure to tell them everything that happened at dinner and how he felt about it.
There was a knock on the door yet (M/N) didn’t move to open it. Whoever tried to open the door, however (M/N) locked it so no one could enter. The mystery person was finally revealed when they spoke through the door. “(M/N).” It was his dad.
“I’m sorry. I am so...so sorry. I hadn’t realized I was hurting you so bad. I never wanted to hurt you. I know it doesn’t mean anything to you now. I understand if you hate me now...I’d hate me too. I told myself when you were born that I wouldn’t be anything like my father...I didn’t realize that I would become worse than him. I wasn’t trying to replace you, I would never replace you. I love you. You aren’t a disappointment to me. I want you to know that...and I am so proud of you. I thought that you wanted to go out and see the world. I didn’t want to force you to take Stark Industries...I should have asked you. I should have talked with you. I should have been there for you so many times, Everyone tried to tell me. I wouldn’t listen though, I thought...I don’t even know anymore.” His voice was barely holding together now and truth be told (M/N) was barely keeping it together in his room. “I’m sorry. Please...let me try harder. I’ll try harder. I can’t lose you.”
(M/N) made no moves to open the door. He wasn’t about to forgive him so easily, maybe he wouldn’t forgive him at all. When he heard his dad’s footsteps fade away he spoke quietly. Barely above a whisper. “You’ve already lost me.” PRYSM rolled up to him and engulfed him in another hug. “I know people usually say you’ll have to forgive a person eventually. But that’s not true, you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to. I want you to know that whatever you decide I support you and I will be here for you.” The tears that were barely being held back were let loose at that, and (M/N) quickly hugged PRYSM back.
The two stayed like that for a long time. Eventually the door was knocked on again. “(M/N).” Clint. “Can I come in?” He didn’t move for a bit but then got up and unlocked the door. He moved back to his bed and PRYSM as Clint entered. “Hey PRYSM.”
“HEY CLINT IT IS SO GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN. But under such sad circumstances.”
“Hey can you give us a second?”
“Oooohhh, of course. I’ll just be over here.” PRYSM rolled off after that.
Clint sat beside (M/N) on the bed. Not saying anything for a bit. “That was some show you put on there kiddo.”
“I’m sorry for doing a Luke skywalker on the death star. But I won’t apologize for what I said.”
“I’m not here for that. What you said needed to be said. It’s been needing to be said for a long time and I’m proud of you for doing it.”
“I did just out myself as a magic user to everyone.”
Clint laughed at that. “Yeah. You should have seen every one they were so confused. Especially Wanda and your dad. Wanda was surprised you didn’t tell her.”
“I should have.”
“That was up to you.” Clint turned to look at him. “Listen. I have always considered you a son to me. Which is why telling you this isn’t easy. You are at a crossroads right now. You have spent your whole life trying to fill your father’s shoes but now you don’t have to. I think this is where YOUR story begins.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean. I think you should go. Go explore the world. Try new things, meet new people. Discover who YOU are. You have spent your entire life trying to be Tony Stark; it's time for you to be (M/N) Stark. It won’t be easy. You’ll face a lot of challenges out there and you might fail a bunch of times, But I know you are strong enough to get back up. Go make friends, fall in love. And when it’s time, come back.” his face falters a bit. “Or...don’t. I want you to live YOUR life. If what you want is to never come back and just move on, then do it. I will always love you kiddo and I just want you to be happy.”
(M/N) pulled the man into a big hug as tears began to stream down his face. He might not be his biological dad, but that didn’t matter; he always loved him like he was. “Oh here’s something’s you might need. Just some extra money, a phone without a tracer and some basic necessities. See ya Kiddo.” With that Clint got up and left. PRYSM re entered the room.
“Clint told me I could come back in so blame him.”
(M/N) laughed at his friend. “It’s alright. Hey...Wanna go on an adventure with me?”
“Um Always!”
“Then let’s go.” (M/N) grabbed the bag of supplies and put some clothes in it. He opened the door letting PRYSM leave first before closing the door to his room for the last time in a very long time.
Tumblr media
A/N: PHEW that was a big one. The biggest one I’ve ever written I hope you all like it. And yes eventually there will be a part 2 because there is still so much for it that I want to write like some reconnecting and such but (M/N) has to go on some self discovery first. Also LOVE PRYSM and imagined them to look like GORTYS from tales from the borderlands so enjoy. I really hope you liked it and keep an eye out for the next one.

Chapter 29 - SBT
Here it is!
"Meow."
It had been days now, days that the adventure at the sugar factory had happened.
"Oui, mon bébé."
[Yes, my baby.]
Lucien had been tailing the hunter for the past few days from the comfort of his own home. He had eyes and ears of his own so he didn't need to go outside himself. Something had struck him. M did indeed get his meals in town, sandwiches here and there, but he would always drive out of town come night time. Lucien thus concluded that the hunter lived somewhere in a hut, in the middle of the desert.
But he was still curious. That determination he had seen in M's eyes when he said that he wanted to kill Duchemin… Lucien had only ever seen it on his own self when he looked in the mirror. Could it be possible that Duchemin had done the same thing to M?
Lucien raised an eyebrow and looked up, leaning back on his sofa, Perle laying on his warm lap.
Non, there was no way on Earth that man had had a fiancée and a child. Pff, he could barely dress up on his own, how would he provide for a family?
Then why did he also have that obsession with Duchemin…? Could he have lied about it all? Could he have been sent by the Australian government? Was he an Australian spy? Non, France had insisted to be the only one to deal with Duchemin. That's what the file said at least.
But this man…
Lucien scooped Perle and put her on his shoulder before going to the piano.
This M.
M, like Marie, like the half of his life that Lucien had lost that fatal day.
He raised his eyes and where the scores stood on the piano, there was that letter.
M, like the author of that letter.
Lucien started playing lazily.
M, like Maurice.
"Hm."
He stopped playing sharp and put Perle down. She mewled in protest but Lucien was already out of his suite, slipping his balaclava on as he ran down the stairs, walking decidedly to his motorcycle. He straddled it confidently and put the helmet on before riding off to the poorest neighbourhood in town.
When he got off the motorcycle, a group of excited children came to marvel at the sublime and classy vehicle. Lucien left it there, parked along the pavement with the helmet on the seat. He went through the street but no sight of Maurice.
"Évidemment… C'est quand j'ai besoin de lui qu'il n'est pas là!"
[Of course… It's when I need him that he isn't here!]
Lucien headed to the house that Maurice had taken him through.
"Oi, who're you?"
He turned. A beggar was there.
"L."
"Oh, bugger, sorry mate." The beggar came close and led Lucien through the house. "Let me get you through, though Maurice is busy right now."
"It is quite urgent." Lucien insisted.
"Right then…" The beggar unlocked the door to the cellar. "Anyone asks you anythin' down there, tell them you're L."
Lucien nodded and went down the dark stairs. His eyes adjusted to the dimness quite quickly and he soon found himself in the gallery of tunnels. He lost no time and headed in the direction that Maurice had taken him before.
"Who're you?"
A large man blocked his path in front of the last door. Lucien sighed.
"L."
"Maurice is receiving someone at the moment."
"I know but I need him now."
"I can't let you in."
The spy's eyebrows jumped.
"I respect your commitment but I will ask one, and only one, more time." Lucien raised his index finger. "Please, let me in."
The mass of muscles in front of him made Lucien look like an ant.
"No, you just wait here."
"Fine, but please remember that I did give you a choice." Lucien's hand flew faster than the big man could see and next thing he knew, his throat hurt like hell. The pile of muscles fell to his knees, choking for air and Lucien adjusted his gloves on his hands. He pushed the door in front of him.
"Maurice? Ah…"
Silence fell in the room. Maurice was sitting on his usual end of the oval table. Lucien was at the door, the door knob still at the tip of his slim fingers and Mundy was standing in between them.
The spy and the hunter eyed each other, they both tensed. There was a taste of unfinished business between the two.
"Speaking of the devil…" Maurice cut the uncomfortable silence. "What have you done to the man at the door?" He asked.
"He will have a sore throat for the next few days." Lucien shut the door.
"Ah. Well, I should be mad at you for hurting one of my employees." Maurice said.
"You would be right in being so, but I did give him a choice and he chose poorly for his throat."
Maurice smiled and shook his head.
"Ah, L…"
Mundy raised an eyebrow.
"So you really know him, eh?" The hunter asked the beggar.
"I do indeed. Don't look at me like this, M, I never said that I did not."
Mundy turned to the Frenchman.
"D'you mind waitin' at the door? I've got some business to finish here with Maurice."
Lucien raised an eyebrow and smirked.
"Non." He simply and arrogantly said.
"What? Who do you think you are, mate? Just go! I was nearly done with Maurice."
Lucien got closer to Mundy, he put his fingertips on his chest and pushed him out of his way to take a seat around the table. He dusted off his chair with the back of his gloved hand and pinched his trousers' legs elegantly before sitting down. He put a leg on the other and leaned down on his seat.
"I won't interrupt again, pray continue." Lucien added and he lit up a cigarette.
Mundy was about to answer but Maurice was faster.
"Well, I for one won't complain if I can talk to you both at the same time. It saves me sending two of my boys."
Lucien and Mundy looked at the king of the beggars on his throne of old wood.
"Why would you tell him stuff about Duchemin, mate?" Mundy asked. "I don't get it."
"Excuse me, Bushman, but I think I should be the one asking that." Lucien said.
"Why? You sent by the Queen or something?" Mundy spat.
Lucien chuckled and his cigarette smoke flew out of his mouth and nose in small clouds.
"Almost."
"For the love of God…" Mundy put his hands on his hips.
"Gentlemen…" Maurice said. "I seem to pick up on some animosity, here?"
"The mongrel's been following me everywhere I go and wants to get Duchemin first. But no, mate, I told you, I'll get him." Mundy asserted.
"Not if I get him first," Lucien answered. "which I can assure you I will, won't I, Maurice?"
Mundy's eyes went to Maurice and the man in the rags raised his hands left and right.
"Not my problem." He answered.
Lucien raised an eyebrow.
"A certain Jean Delacroix will be disappointed to learn that." He answered and saw Maurice's lips part at the mention of the French Minister of Defense. "Your job is to help me locate the man, Maurice."
"Y-what?!" Mundy asked. "Who's that Jean whatever? And in any case, Maurice, you said you'd help, you know why I have to do it!"
"Oh, oui, pray say why." Lucien encouraged the angry Aussie.
"Oh you shut your mouth and stay out of this! You have no idea what you're doin', mate. Next time I find you in front of me, I'll do what I should have done when I found you in that hangar."
Lucien sprang up his chair and got closer to Mundy. Their furious faces were a mere inch away from each other.
"And what is that, hm? Run away and shoot me from the other end of the world, like a coward?!"
"Watch yer mouth, mate." Mundy bared his teeth.
"Or what? You will take your absurdly big knife and slice me like a beast?! I am not a simple deer you can hunt down, if anything, I have been hunting you all along! Maurice will help me, whether that suits you or not! It is his duty!"
"Well mine is to make that Duchemin bloke eat his bloody teeth! Now get out of my way and let me finish my chat with Maurice here!"
Lucien's anger melted in a second. He opened his legs slightly, standing like a capital A in front of Mundy and staring disdainfully into his eyes, he smirked.
"Make. Me." He whispered.
That provocation was the drop of water that made the vase overflow, as they say in French and Mundy's punch flew to Lucien's jaw. The Frenchman stopped it and elegantly twisted Mundy's arm in an armlock.
"Argh! Damn you!" Mundy winced in pain and grabbed his kukri with his free hand. He slashed blindly where Lucien was but the blade came dangerously close to the Frenchman who had no choice but to let go of Mundy's arm to dodge it.
He got his short blade out and both leapt at each other. Mundy parried again and again as Lucien slashed faster and faster, his feet slid on the floor effortlessly, the sheen of his ice-blue eyes was cold and, when the light was right, they shone similarly to the Frenchman's blade.
"Ouch!"
Lucien had slashed across Mundy's face, on his cheek. The cut wasn't deep and wasn't too close to the eye but Mundy could feel it. He put a hand to it and looking at his fingers, he saw some blood.
Steel crossed and clinked, as one rushed to the other and vice versa. Lucien frowned and threw his blade up in the air. Mundy raised his head to follow its trajectory but soon regretted it as the Frenchman had only used that trick as a distraction and punched him in the throat.
"Argh! Oorh!" Mundy dropped his kukri which clinked on the wooden floor, and put his hands on his own throat as he coughed and choked on his saliva. When he raised his head to meet Lucien again, the Frenchman caught his blade without looking at it and put it back in his inner pocket. He kicked the kukri away and opened his jacket.
"Now, will you listen to reason and stop this foolish quest of yours?" He asked.
Mundy panted and tried to catch his breath. Oh his throat hurt like hell, but no one would stand between him and his revenge for his parents. He removed his hat and threw it away on the table.
"Nah, I'm not done with you," He said with a voice that was even more husky than usual. "Not by a long shot." He raised his fists.
Lucien removed his jacket and threw it. It landed on the table next to the hunter's hat. He undid his cuffs and rolled his sleeves up.
"Let us settle this like gentlemen, then."
And with that, Lucien threw his foot up at Mundy's face. The Aussie was astonished at how flexible his older foe was, and in his surprise, he took the blow straight to the jaw.
"Ah, you have brought me back twenty years ago at least!" Lucien said.
Mundy's glasses flew away from his face and Lucien's smile disappeared when he saw the tall man leap and catch the yellow tinted aviator glasses before they hit the floor. He landed in a thud and his entire right side would remember it but at least the glasses were safe.
"You mongrel, you nearly broke them!" Mundy's voice was still damaged and it broke half-way through his sentence.
"Oh, my apologies, I will make sure to break them now." Lucien calmly said and he knelt on the floor near Mundy and punched his face.
The Aussie took the first blow to have time to throw his glasses far away from them. He then grabbed Lucien by his collar and headbutted him.
"Aargh!"
That was unexpected! The spy hadn't seen it coming and Mundy pulled him on the floor before straddling his slender body and punching in his turn.
"GET! OFF! OF! DU! BLOODY! CHEMIN!" Mundy yelled as he landed a punch between each word.
Lucien could feel the iron taste of blood on his tongue and the warm trickling of blood on his upper lip. He managed to gather up enough focus to stop one of Mundy's fists a few millimetres away from his face and twist it.
"Argh!" The hunter bent forward and Lucien met his head with a headbutt. Mundy's head jerked back which pushed him off balance just enough for Lucien to free himself from him and let him fall next to him on the floor.
They were both bruised, bloodied and tired. They caught their breaths in loud, big inhales as they gathered enough strength to stand on one knee, and then fully up.
Lucien saw the yellow glasses lying in the corner. He looked at Mundy who understood what the Frenchman was set to do. Lucien leapt to them but Mundy tackled him and both crashed against the wall.
"I said! You don't touch them! You bloody idiot!"
Lucien's left side hurt after the collision with the wall. They both stood up anyway and went on throwing punches and kicking, left and right. They received as many as they gave but neither of them gave up, however bruised and disfigured they were becoming.
"Fils de…"
"What's that, Frenchie?" Both breathed heavily. "Givin' up already?"
"I said, son of a - orfh!"
Mundy's punch flew definitely faster than Lucien had anticipated and his jaw twisted under the blow.
"YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TALK ABOUT MY MUM! YOU SHUT YOUR BLOODY MOUTH!"
Mundy grabbed a chair and threw it at Lucien who dodged it in time.
"WHY?" Lucien yelled in answer. "Am I striking a nerve?! Was your mother really a wh - oh!"
A direct hit took Lucien by surprise. His face contorted in pain and he spat some blood away.
"I see we are sensitive on two things." He said, unfazed. "The glasses, and your mother. Did the glasses belong to her? Non, they are men's glasses, quite old in fashion - ooh…!" Lucien chuckled as he closed one eye under the pain of the hit he received. "The glasses were your father's, non?"
"I'LL KILL YOU!"
Mundy picked up his kukri and leapt at the Frenchman. In his blind fit of rage, Mundy's moves had become very predictable and Lucien only had to move away to see the tall Aussie crash on the oval table.
"Your parents are a sensitive subject. I shall remember that."
"SHUT UP!"
Mundy turned and pulled Lucien by his collar. He pushed him down on the table and Lucien's back hit it hard.
"Aargh!"
Mundy quickly grabbed his kukri back and Lucien felt its blade against his throat.
"One more word about my parents - ONE MORE WORD!" He shouted. "And I'll cut you open from one ear to the other!"
Mundy had barked loudly. Lucien smirked through his blood covered face.
"You do that and you will lose your ability to have children, not that any woman would indulge anyway."
Mundy looked between his legs and saw the sheen of his foe's blade pointed at his crotch.
"You will bleed profusely and die of blood loss before they can get you out of this underground facility." Lucien added.
"You'd be dead way before that." Mundy said.
"Oui, painlessly, which is not something you will have the privilege of, on the other hand." Lucien answered.
"Take it back." Mundy said.
"I will take my blade back when you do yours."
"Not your blade, mongrel."
Lucien raised an eyebrow. The tall Aussie's face was as disfigured as the Frenchman felt he was.
"What then?"
"What you said about my mum. You take it back."
Lucien pushed the blade a bit more and Mundy felt something through his trousers and underwear. He clenched his jaw.
"I am pointing a blade in your nether regions, Bushman."
Mundy pushed his kukri against Lucien's throat a bit more.
"Take. It. Back."
Silence fell. One couldn't understand how a few words could get to him that strongly while the other was more than entirely convinced that he would rather die than let anyone dirty the name of his mother.
"Why are you so sensitive about this? It is only words." Lucien asked, raising his head to try to evade Mundy's blade.
"Because… It's why I want to get Duchemin." Mundy stepped back and put my kukri back on his belt.
"What? Did Duchemin insult your mother?" Lucien straightened his back and put his knife in his pocket again.
"No, you mongrel." Mundy picked up his glasses and put them on, his back turned to Lucien. "He killed her and my dad." He screwed his eyes shut and bit his cheek. Saying those words cost him a lot, and hurt beyond what his body had endured during the fight with Lucien.
Lucien's eyes snapped wide.
"That's why I need to find him and kill him." Mundy took a seat and wiped his bleeding nose with the back of his hand.
"And Maurice was helping you because…?" Lucien took a chair and sat opposite him.
"He used to know my parents. They helped the poor here... Ouch, you really didn't hold back, did you?" Mundy touched his nose. It wasn't broken but it hurt.
"I did hold back, I just hit strategic areas."
"Well, you certainly know what you're doin', you devil in a suit…"
Lucien raised his eyes and they exchanged a smile.
"Well, I was trained in close combat. You, however, have no idea how to deal with such situations, I can see that." Lucien rolled his sleeves down and put his jacket back on. He took Mundy's hat off the table and put it on his head. The hunter grinned. "Your smile is horrible to look at, you are covered in blood." Lucien added.
"Well, thanks to who?! It's all your fault, mongrel…!"
"It's 'thanks to whom' if you want to be grammatically correct, Bushman." The Frenchman put his hand in his inner pocket and for a second Mundy got shivers and tensed up. He thought he would get his knife out again. "Relax… Here." From his inner pocket, Lucien retrieved his cigarette case and flipped it open.
"Can I touch this time?" Mundy asked.
"Your hands are full of blood." Lucien answered.
Their eyes met and held on to each other for a second. Lucien's irises sank and Mundy imitated him. He saw the cigarette case move closer to him. He raised his head as if to ask again, arching his eyebrows, and Lucien blinked with both eyes as he nodded.
"Oh… Thanks."
"Thank you." Lucien answered and lit both their cigarettes.
"What for? For rearrangin' your face? Maybe now you look better than before under that ski mask of yours, eh?" Mundy joked.
"I highly doubt it." Lucien answered. "And I told you already. It is called a balaclava."
"Yeah, well, balala-mask thingy…"
They both chuckled.
"I won't comment on your face although, on my side of things, I am certain this new makeup enhances your features."
"You just said my smile was ugly."
"And I did not say that the enhancement was a favourable one." Lucien teased. "But non, I thank you for your honesty, for telling me why you are after Duchemin. I… Respect your ambition."
The door opened and Maurice appeared.
"Ah, I see you two have finished. Oh, gentlemen, look at the state of my room! Blood everywhere and a broken chair!"
Maurice looked around.
"Sorry, mate. He started it." Mundy pointed at Lucien.
"What?! Non! You threw the first punch!"
"And you punched me back!"
"It was self-defense, nothing more."
"Yeah, look at this face here, does that look like the face of self-defense?" Mundy asked.
"Again, I assure you this little improvised makeup suits you."
"For halloween, maybe."
"Certainly." Lucien confirmed.
"M," Maurice interrupted their banter. "If you two can still walk, why don't you go and see the Doctor, hm?"
"Yeah," Mundy stood up. "Oof-! Oh that hurts, come and help me, mate…!"
Lucien stood up. His entire left side ached.
"You should be the one helping me, I am older than you…"
They held onto each other, putting an arm over each other's shoulders, and Maurice asked for someone to show them out.
Once they resurfaced, Lucien looked up at Mundy.
"Please tell me this doctor of yours is nearby…"
"Y-yeah, it shouldn't be too far."
"You lie terribly badly, Bushman... Aïe!"
[Ouch!]
Mundy had elbowed him softly but it was on his left side and the Frenchman winced under the pain. The Aussie chuckled softly and both of them walked on the pavement, limping awkwardly.

Prompt: character/s commie want to write about, letter/s commie choose
Hm. Well. M is for music, this story is about Basco ta Jolokia, and the song of the moment is "Barrett's Privateers." You can listen to the original by Stan Rogers on Spotify or YouTube, but I'm also very fond of the cover by the Real Mackenzies, which you can similarly catch here or here. And this story is fully blamed on Fides, because I asked them if it'd be an abuse of my writerly powers to try to make people have feelings about Basco, and they said, "yes, do it."
Also, for a rarity, this one not only has a title already, it’s also one I feel like putting on the post instead of just of AO3--this story is called The Last of Jolok’s Privateers.
The worst of it, really, after all his other happily-committed crimes are taken into account, is that Basco actually misses cooking. There's no point in it on Free Joker. Sally wouldn't appreciate it, she only eats bananas and the occasional green thing, and it doesn't seem worth the bother to do it for just himself. Without anyone else to compliment him, what’s the point?
He'd gotten the job on the Red Galleon with pot roast.
News around the spaceport, some crazy pirate who'd declared that he was going to find the greatest treasure in the universe, and of course that had gotten his attention. Who wouldn't want to find the universe's greatest treasure? He'd ship out with the madman, and if some disaster happened to befall them later and leave Basco to stumble back to port alone but rich beyond imagining, so much the better. Even if they didn’t find the treasure he could surely get a ship out of it. So he'd put on his friendly face and gone to apply for the job, and AkaRed had looked him up and down with that faceless mask and said, "What do you have to offer the Red Pirates, Basco ta Jolokia?"
"Well," he'd said, thinking of what it might take to get a madman to carry him to the jackpot, "I cook a damn sight better than most of the scum in this port."
"We haven't got a cook right now. Show me."
He should have suspected something when he saw how small the crew was, really. Just him, AkaRed, one ludicrously beautiful cabin boy who was probably either AkaRed's son or his lover, and an oddly-designed mechanical parrot. Three men and a bird to find the greatest treasure in the universe? He should have known from the start that AkaRed was up to something. But the cabin boy had scarfed down the roast like his life depended on it, and AkaRed had said, "Welcome to the Red Pirates," and for that one moment it had been a good thing.
Actually, Basco realizes now, staring out the front viewport of the Joker, really he should have started getting suspicious when he'd noticed that AkaRed had hired a cook but didn't eat. And now he’s stuck sailing round and round this disregarded blue planet, chasing after the cabin boy and his pretty bodyguard and the rest of his pack of moon-eyed lovers as he tries to find a treasure that he’s beginning to doubt even exists.
Blue.
What a loathsome color for a planet to be.
Jolok, he recalls faintly, was yellow and orange when seen from space. He misses his home, in quiet moments, with its dry heat and three moons and real gravity. It was, once upon a time, a place he nearly loved, before it was lost to one of Warz Gill’s famous tantrums. By comparison, every step he takes on Earth feels like swimming, humid and overlight. Who could live happily, in this damp place? What worth does it even have?
He’d fallen into the rhythm of the Red Galleon so easily. The sweet domesticity of isolated space travel, cooking and mending and welcoming AkaRed and the cabin boy back from their adventures with all the good cheer of a faithful wife. He’d almost forgotten what he’d joined up for until the night he’d stayed up to catalogue the galley stocks and heard AkaRed going through the treasure chest and talking to Navi about saving Earth.
In all this miserable universe, this man had them running across space to save one planet?
It’s nearly a pity, Basco thinks as he sits in his chair and turns the Rapparatta absently in his hands, that he’ll have to kill the cabin boy. Maybe he should have gone about things a different way, maybe he should have seduced Marvelous instead and just turned him against the old man. Then he’d have someone else around to appreciate his cooking.
Maybe he shouldn’t have betrayed them at all. Maybe he shouldn’t have joined the Red Pirates in the first place.
Maybe, maybe, maybe.
God damn them all. AkaRed, the Zangyack, Marvelous and his precious Gokaigers, this miserable wet planet...
Why should he bother to do for Earth what no one ever thought to do for Jolok?
He blows a single, mournful note on the Rapparatta and then turns slightly in the chair from which he captains his crew of one and says, “Hey, Sally. I don’t imagine you’d have any pot roast, would you, if I made some?”
She just stares at him.
Well, if he’s going to have regrets, at least he’ll be the richest man in the galaxy while he has them.

Mirrored Gravity
A commission for the wonderful @marie-lamb-b <3
ao3 link
Shawn had gotten quite used to strange things going on in their cottage. Things like Wally, Sammy, and Thomas sleeping on a couch all piled one on top of the other. Marina and Linda making a sculpture out of moving ink, then setting it ablaze. Gonner’s odd experiments with wires and potions. But this?
This took the cake.
Twisting the ring on his finger, a forming habit, he managed to comment on the situation.
“Wills.”
“Yeah?”
“Why are ye on the ceiling?”
“Huh?”
“Yer on the ceiling.”
“I am?”
Willy glanced at himself, and found Shawn to be correct - he was, indeed, on the ceiling.
“Huh. So I am.”
“Do you know… why yer defying the laws of physics? Or how?” Shawn asked, trying to sound nonchalant, but his intrigue dumped excitement into his tone. Willy shrugged. “No clue at all?”
“No, not really,” the man confessed, the soft red of his mouth contrasting with the rich dark tones of his face as he yawned and stretched. “It’s not exactly an everyday thing, ya know.”
“Yeah, I know,” Shawn nodded, then leaned against the wall. “How do ye suppose we’ll get ye down from all the way up there?”
Shawn had a point - the ceiling of the cabin was rather high up, and had Shawn not looked up to determine where the slight sound of snoring was coming from, it would have been unlikely that anyone would have spotted the snoozing janitor.
“What do you think about a rope?” Willy suggested. Shawn nodded and headed out to the shed to grab the coil that rested there. When he returned, he tossed the end up to Willy, who snatched it out of the air. “Try and pull me down.”
Shawn pulled - and then rose up along the rope himself, with an exclamation of surprise.
“Wills?!”
“Uh, if you’re gonna ask if you’re comin’ up, the answer is yes!” Willy yelled, but with an incredulous look on his face. “Stop! Go back down the rope, quick!”
Shawn scurried backwards, and his toes brushed the floor once more. He and Willy looked at one another and burst out laughing.
“Number one, I’ve got no idea how to get you down,” Shawn guffawed, “And number two, hell! That was weird as all hell in a soup pot!”
“Yep, I’m with you on that!”
Shawn twisted his ring again, and Willy bit his lip, and tried to swim through the air. He looked like a puppy in water for the first time - hovering in the same place despite the effort and will to move along.
“What time is it?” Willy questioned. “Maybe when Gonner gets back from school she can figure out somethin’ to get me down.”
“It’s twelve,” Shawn answered after glancing at his watch. Willy groaned. “I know it’s a pain, muirnín, but she’s not gonna be of use. We’re gonna have to figure this one out on our own.”
“Well, then, let’s think,” Willy replied. “How would you get down from a ceiling?”
“I don’t think I would be on a ceiling in the first place,” Shawn responded with ease. Willy nodded, and sighed a, “That’s fair.”
“Now, what about… um, ya demon?” Shawn fumbled. “Mirror. Mirry. Can that lil’ bastard do anything to help?”
Willy looked over at the corner of the ceiling.
“He’s too busy laughin’ his tush off,” Willy pouted. Shawn wanted to kiss him, and then climbed up the rope that Willy still held and twisted in nervous knots. “Yeah, yeah, laugh it off dumba- Oh! Hello, Shawn. What’re ya doin’ up here?”
“I’m gonna give my absolutely gorgeous fiance a big kiss, ‘cause he’s the cutest fella I’ve ever met in my whole life,” Shawn stated, before putting his hands on the sides of Willy’s face, pulling him close and kissing his nose, then his lips. “There. How was that?”
“Lovely,” Willy giggled, then noticed - “We’re on the floor.”
“Oh, are we?” Shawn looked down, lifting his toes and finding his heels firmly on the polished wood floors. “Wow. That was some trip, if ye ask me.”
“It was,” Willy agreed, and pecked Shawn’s cheek. “I guess that I just had to feel like flyin’ to come back to earth, doncha think?”
Shawn erupted into full laughter, Willy’s soft giggling accompanying it. He wrapped his arms around Willy, swaying slightly in time with the rhythm of the turntable, until he realized that no one had turned it on, and it certainly was not playing when he came in from his walk.
“D’ye hear that?” he murmured by Willy’s ear. The man cocked his head, like a dog might, and nodded. “The turntable’s on fer some reason.”
“Leave it on,” Willy coaxed him, kissing his cheek with a smile Shawn could feel. “It’s nice. Wanna dance?”
“With you?” Shawn felt his heart flutter. “Of course. I’d love to.”
They turned and swayed, as though they were reeds by the shoreline, soft water wafting around them, only them in the ocean of their home. It was a genuine, sweet, lovely, fun, wonderful time for them both, each laughing and humming along to the beat.
“Oh, I love ya,” Willy sighed, smiling, leaning up just a tad to kiss Shawn. Shawn grinned broadly, and kissed him back. “I’m so happy you’re here, with me….”
“I’m happy yer here with me, too,” Shawn beamed. “And that we’ve got the family, and everythin’, and everyone, and can work together… I’m so happy we’re here.”
“Do you think our house is haunted?” Willy asked, not quite out of nowhere, but Shawn certainly was not expecting it. His head lifted from Willy’s shoulder, looking into his eyes with some surprise. “Well, aside from Mirror. But he normally’d tell me if something supernatural was goin’ on in our vicinity.”
“What do you think? Do you think it’s haunted?” Shawn looked around, his eyes resting once more on Willy. Willy shook his head. “Well, that’s good enough for me. Maybe Mirror built up some extra power he couldn’t control. What do you think o’ that?”
“Possible, possible,” Willy nodded, smiling. “As said in ‘Sherlock Holmes’, once you rule out the impossible, what remains however shocking, must be the truth, or somethin’ like that, but our problem is that what happened was, according to most people, ‘impossible’.”
“Y’know what?” Shawn rolled his eyes, and dipped Willy, making him laugh. “I don’t quite think I care enough to find out what caused it. What matters is yer safe down here on earth with me.”
“Agreed,” Willy’s chuckle was infectious, and Shawn found himself grinning as his fiance kissed his cheeks, once left, once right. “You’re my lovely leprechaun, you know? LepreShawn. It works, doesn’t it?”
“Terribly,” Shawn wrinkled his nose, but his eyes twinkled. “Terribly well, that is.”
***
The next incident occurred while they were at work. Shawn was happily stitching away at his quota of dolls, prideful that it was coming along smoothly. Johan did not mind one in every few dolls to have crooked smiles, he laughed and remarked that it gave them personality and would make them collectors items, and Shawn was more than happy to agree, remarking that the man’s ass could also potentially be a collector’s item. Whist Joey was clearly not amused, Henry certainly was.
“Is there no time that you don’t think about fella’s butts, though?” Willy had questioned later, brown eyes sparkling with mirth. Shawn could just imagine the kick Mirror was getting out of those words, and decided to indulge the man.
“Not really,” Shawn shrugged one shoulder to keep his grip on his paintbrush. “All this irish brain thinks about is butts and stuff.”
“And stuff?” Willy rose a brow, his lips twitching in amusement. “What kind of stuff?”
“How much I’d like to sweep you off your feet,” Shawn replied, finally looking up to the man - and realizing that he was hovering beside his loft, not merely standing beside him in his usual work station. “Um. Wills? How’d you get up here? Some sort of voodoo hoodoo magic again?”
Willy looked down.
“Huh. Didn’t notice again,” he remarked, pursing his lips. He looked so positively adorable that Shawn just had to kiss him, and so he did. Willy shrieked as gravity grabbed him, and his arms instinctively wrapped around Shawn’s shoulders and pulled him down with him. Luckily, they landed on two giant plushies, a Boris and a Charlie. They looked at each other with wide eyes, bursting into laughter and surprise. “I’m really startin’ to think that Mirror is up to something with doing that.”
“That whippersnapper tryin’ to make us kiss?” Shawn laughed, and Willy laughed happily along. A mischievous light Shawn adored came into his eye. He leaned close to whisper in a sing-song tone, “Somethin’s on your mind….”
“We can fool him, if you wanna know how,” he replied, grinning coyly. “Play the same trick back, if you will.”
“Oh?” Shawn felt an excitement bloom in his chest as he grinned in return. “And just how do we do that, muirnín?”
“Listen closely,” Willy replied, then cupped his hand by Shawn’s ear to whisper his plot. Grinning ever wider now, Shawn marveled at the cleverness of his Willy. After he finished muttering his plan, he looked at him. “What do you think, Shawn?”
“Absolutely great,” Shawn replied. “And I’m one hundred percent certain that I can get the trio’s help to make it work all the better. Even if they don’t wanna, I’ve got blackmail.”
“Even on my own brother?” Willy gasped in mock offence. Shawn stammered an excuse, silenced by a kiss. “Don’t worry, I’ll never tell him. Go on ahead. Have fun. I wish there would be a way for you to see Mirror’s reaction to it all, but alas, there ain’t.”
“I’m sure that Jameson would be happy to relay it to me,” Shawn shrugged. “It’s still a great way to get back at him.”
‘Get back at what?’ Mirror asked, returning from his foray into the lighting system after the couple had come back to earth, in that literal sense. ‘Gonna ambush Thomas for stealing his belt? Gotta see that!’
Willy only answered the demonic fae with a smile.

“G’night Shawn,” Willy yawned, snuggling into bed beside his partner. Shawn, wrapping an arm around him and giving a gentle squeeze, kissed his forehead. “I love ya. See ya in the morning.”
“Goodnight, Willy,” Shawn hummed. “I love you, too.”
Before long, the sleepy janitor was in dreamland, and Shawn knew that Mirror was too - unlike usually. Mirror was out like a light, thanks to some magic spells of binding that Joey found for them.
Shawn slipped out of bed, and let in Jameson and the three boyfriends.
Jameson glanced around, then up at the ceiling corner. He nodded with a slight smile.
“Alright,” Shawn whispered, feeling his own smile grow. “Let’s do this, then.”

Mirror, groggy, stretched out each unnatural joint in his body, neck cracking in forty places.
He found everything, everything, upside down.
Even the pictures on the walls.
Confused by the situation, he looked around, seeing Willy and Shawn still cuddling in bed, in their upside down bed.
He had no idea what was happening, and even his unending humor seemed quenched by the encapsulation of his world literally upside down.
Needless to say, he disliked it. Immensely. He poked Willy’s face with a fingerlike claw to wake him fully, and the man rose a brow as he gazed at him.
‘Why is everything on the ceiling,’ he demanded, his voice crackling without humor, but with confusion and mild curiosity. Willy only tilted his head in question to understand. ‘You’re on the ceiling.’
“I most definitely am not on the ceiling,” Willy mumbled in reply, snuggling back into Shawn’s side to stifle his laughter. “You’re on the ceiling.”
‘I am not!’ Mirror gasped, then spasmed with mirth. ‘How can I be on the ceiling?’
“Maybe you lost track of how gravity works,” Willy cuddled closer to Shawn. “That’s something a demon like ya could do, right?”
‘I don’t think so,’ Mirror replied, and burst out into laughter, some shocked, some self incriminating. ‘I’m pretty sure that ain’t somethin’ I can do.’
“You can’t switch off gravity?” Willy inquired, peering at him with one eye. “That’s not one of your nut job abilities?”
‘It is, though I am limited to my tormentees,’ Mirror guffawed, then froze, looking at Willy with big eyes that still held merriment. ‘Oh ho ho, Mister Clever Willy, caught me red handed, huh?’
“Precisely,” Willy replied, smug. Shawn poked his head up, looking to his fiance. “G’morning, Shawn.”
“Top o’ the mornin’ to you, Willy,” Shawn yawned. He grimaced after. “Feels weird to wake up like this. Did the demon fess up?”
“Just did,” Willy flipped off Mirror, making the devil stick his tongue out at the two. “Apparently he can’t switch off gravity for everyone.”
“Wouldn’t be surprised if he secretly could,” Shawn muttered. Mirror settled onto Willy’s head, shrinking to be a size relative to a ping pong ball. “Er, Wills, question.”
“Yeah, love?”
“How the hell do we get down from here?”
Everything had been nailed to the ceiling. And they were taped to their bed. Willy had evidently not thought of that.
“Um.”
“Very much um.”

It took a while, effort, and Shawn falling flat on his face, but in time, they managed to get down and right everything to its proper location. Shawn counted about three hundred nails before he lost track, and Willy was snoozing on the couch yet again from the work out.
Shawn looked over the edge of his book when the motion of Willy stretching his arms caught his eye, and to his surprise, he noticed Willy floating once more, about two feet above the couch’s cushions. It was, admittedly, the perfect height for Shawn to put his arms under him to hold him, even weightless, so he did. Acting on his impulse merely was something Shawn tended to do and benefited (or lost) from doing so.
“Hello, darling Willy of mine,” Shawn greeted the waking man. Willy grinned and kissed him, and plopped into Shawn’s arms. “I love you. Floating or not.”
“I love you, Shawn,” Willy responded happily. “It looks like Mirror wanted to get the last laugh. Kudos to him for the effort, doncha think?”
“Yep,” Shawn beamed. “All in all, ‘twas an excellently fun time for all of us, I suppose.”
Willy glanced over his shoulder and frowned for a moment, rolling his eyes.
“What did Mirror say?” Shawn asked with curiosity. Willy shrugged. “Aw, come on, tell me!”
“He commented on a threesome idea,” Willy grumbled, and Shawn laughed. “I’d rather not have that spawn of the devil involved with you and me.”
“And I’m pretty sure he was only joking, Willy,” Shawn assured him. Willy sighed and nodded. “He did do a good job of making us weightless though.”
“I’d rather have another kiss.”
“Anything for you, muirnín.”
