Life Is But A Dream Tour PT 3: Avenged Sevenfold, Poppy & Sullivan King

Avenged Sevenfold, also known as A7X, announced in March 2023 that they would be embarking on a tour to promote their new album titled "Life Is But A Dream". The album was released in June of the same year. During the first two legs of the tour, A7X was joined by other popular bands such as Alexisonfire, Falling In Reverse, and Kim Dracula. A7X has recently announced its third leg of the Life Is But A Dream Tour with the support of Poppy & Sullivan King. I was thrilled to learn that they were starting the tour in Buffalo, NY. I have been a fan of their music since I was just 12 years old, and the thought of seeing them live and even taking photos of them would have made my younger self scream with joy. As I was walking towards the venue, I noticed that a long line had already formed down the block. The excitement and anticipation of the fans were palpable as they eagerly awaited the upcoming A7X performance. By the time I entered and prepared to take photos, fans were rushing inside to find their seats.

Keaton Prescott, who goes by the stage name Sullivan King, is a talented DJ and multi-instrumentalist. His unique music style combines Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and Metal, attracting fans from both genres to come together and enjoy his music. Sullivan King has released many singles, collaborating with various artists such as Papa Roach, Riot Ten, Kayzo, and others. Sullivan King made a grand entrance to the stage with a lantern on fire and immediately caught the audience's attention. As a DJ, he had an impressive amount of energy, which was unexpected. Although he mostly stayed behind the DJ booth, he occasionally came out. He played the guitar while performing his songs such as "Codename: Reckless", "Blame", and EDM mixes featuring songs from Rob Zombie, Linkin Park, and A Day To Remember. The light show during the bass drops was superb, with laser lights flashing on and off. At some points during the performance, pyrotechnics were even used, adding to the overall spectacular experience.

Moriah Rose Pereira, who goes by the stage name Poppy, hails from Boston, Massachusetts. Initially, Poppy gained popularity for her YouTube videos that parodied modern and internet culture with an android-like persona. In 2014, she ventured into the music industry with her debut pop album titled Bubble Bath. In an interview with DJ Niko from AMP Radio, Poppy revealed that she had originally aspired to become a Rockette. However, after dancing for 11 years, she decided to pursue a music career. Over the years, Poppy has released five studio albums, which have evolved from being pop-oriented to incorporating nu-metal and heavy-metal elements. Her latest album earned her a nomination for a Grammy in the Best Metal Performance category in 2021. Unfortunately, due to the rules, we were unable to capture photos of Poppy's set. When Poppy came out on stage, many of her fans screamed in excitement, eager to see what she was going to perform for us. Poppy's music is a unique blend of pop and metal, which was evident in her set. However, I was a little disappointed with her performance, as I wished she had been more interactive with the crowd and had more energy behind the performance, given that she enjoys dancing as well. During her set, the musician performed a total of 12 songs. She started with "BLOODMONEY," which got her fans extremely excited for the rest of the show. Additionally, she sang some tracks from her latest album, including her latest single "V.A.N," which is a collaboration with Bad Omens.

Avenged Sevenfold is an iconic heavy metal band from Huntington Beach, California. They made their debut in 1999 and have since released 8 studio albums, each marking the evolution of the band. The current lineup includes M. Shadows as the vocalist, Zacky Vengeance and Synyster Gates as guitarists, Johnny Christ as the bassist, and Brooks Wackerman as the drummer. Recently, A7X allowed their fans to listen to their new album, Life Is But A Dream, a few weeks before its scheduled release day in a 360 immersive album experience. This was showcased at Las Vegas' Area15 for a select few dates in May. According to A7X's Instagram, the album is meant to be listened to in its entirety from start to finish. The fans were already chanting "SEVENFOLD, SEVENFOLD, SEVENFOLD" before A7X even stepped on stage. When the band finally came out, the crowd went wild. A7X didn't mess around with the setlist for this tour - they played songs they hadn't performed in years, such as "Blinded In Chains" and "Save Me." They also debuted a new song called "Roman Sky" for the first time on this tour. At one point during the show, a woman was handing out stars with a note attached that said "Hold over your phone flashlight during Cosmic when it slows down after the solo." This was done in an attempt to create a galaxy effect in the crowd. A7X left the stage after "ending" their show but returned to play "Cosmic," another live debut.

THE STEALER CHAPTER ONE: PULL THE TRIGGER

genre/warnings: angst, fluff, slow burn, enemies to lovers (?), kidnapping, criminal!tbz, mentions of guns & knives, quick mention of suicide

summary: As y/n is leaved to close the store on her own, the last thing that she expects, happens to her

pairing: tbz x fem reader

“Y/n! You’re closing the store tonight, I have an emergency at home and I need to get going.” You hear your boss, Jiyoo yell from the back of the store as you put some new clothing items up on the racks. You sigh. “Okay!” You yell back at her and look at the time. 8:30PM. The store closes at 9 so you won’t be alone for a long time.

“The store is super quiet right now so I'm sure you can handle the last 30 minutes on your own.” Jiyoo smiles as she walks towards the entrance of the store. ‘I hope so.” You smile back.

She tells you to put the money in the safe and clean the store a bit and then quickly leaves the store, leaving you alone with 2 customers and the loud music of the speakers playing Bad Guy by Billie Eilish.

After the last customers leave, you look at the time again, 9:58. You make your way to the entrance to close the door and turn off the lights so nobody starts knocking, begging you to let them in, then you tidy some stuff up as you make your way back to the counter. As you reach the counter the radio switches to the news.

“The infamous criminal group ‘The Boyz’ have gotten away with yet another robbery just yesterday making it their 12th theft of the month. The police still have not been able to catch them due to the group's large number of members.”

You sigh. Instead of partying with your friends on this friday night you have been put in charge to close the store. “I don’t get paid enough for this.’ you murmur as you grab the money they earned today and start counting them. The sound of something falling shakes you out of your thoughts.

“What the- oh it’s just the broom that fell.” Just as you are about to go back to counting you hear a faint thud in the storage room. “Ok, I'm getting really scared now.” You whisper to yourself.

You decide to shake it off and go back to counting when you suddenly feel cold metal against the back of your head.

Oh fuck.

“Put the money down,''

You hear a male voice say. You do what he says as you start praying internally. You then feel a sharp object pressed against your lower back.

“Listen up, as long you’re doing as we say, you’re not gonna get hurt.”

‘That’s what they always say.’ You think but would never dare to say out loud. You’re on the verge of tears thinking this is your last day when you hear another thud.

“OW!” You hear another voice yell.

“Dumbass.” You hear another voice say.

‘How many of these motherfuckers are there.’ You think

“Grab some stuff over there.” You hear the one holding a gun against your head say as you see another figure grabbing the money you just dropped on the counter.

“I can’t see shit in here.” One of the voices further away from you says.

“Turn the lights on hyung!” The other one says.

You flinch as the lights turn on. Not daring to look at thieves. No Y/n u need to remember their faces just in case they actually don’t kill you. As you look up you make eye contact with the one that took the money. Your eyes widen at how handsome he is. “Bring us to the safe.” The one holding the knife against your lower back says. You slowly turn around making eye contact with the one holding the gun.

Shit, he’s handsome too.

You slowly start walking to the storage room.

“Changmin! Eric! We’ll be right back, grab everything you can!” Gun guy says.

When you arrive at the storage room, you walk to the safe and kneel in front of it, the three guys still behind. As you type in the code you hear a walkie talkie go off followed by another voice.

“What is taking so long.”

“Shut up, we just got to the safe. Anybody nearby?” The one without a weapon, as far as you know then, asks.

“No, it’s dead, everyone is going out a few blocks away.”

“Give us 10 minutes.”

“Fine.”

You take the money out and hand it to knife guy, who puts it in a bag.

“Please don’t kill me.” You plead.

“We won’t.” Gun guy says.

“Hyunjae, come with me. Juyeon, keep an eye on her.” Gun guy commands as he walks away with Hyunjae.

You took the opportunity to look at knife guy, Juyeon.

Fuck, he’s beautiful too.

You guys just stay there in silence till the two guys come back into the storage room. But this time they came back with the two other guys.

“Plan changed, we’re taking you with us.” Hyunjae says. Your eyes widen and you try to get up and escape. Just as you get up, Juyeon grabs your left arm, pulls you back and holds the knife against your neck.

“Do as we say and you will not get hurt.” Gun guy says. Your hands get tied behind your back and you decide to give in and follow the guys outside.

“Took you long enough.” You see three other guys waiting outside. One shows a bored expression, the other is very tall and the last is...very cute? They’re all handsome too. You mentally cry.

“Who’s that?” The ‘cute’ one says with a softer voice. “Our new friend.” Hyunjae smirks. You internally scoff as they walk you to the bus. When they open the bus you see three more guys.

How many of them can there be?!

“Hi, ooohh who’s that.” One of them behind a huge computer screen says.

“They brought a souvenir.” The tall guy that was waiting outside laughs.

They put you in the car and start driving. Tears are threatening to leave your eyes as you think about your friends and family. What if you get killed? Or they never let you go? or even worse… you get Stockholm syndrome?!?!

“What’s your name?” The ‘cute’ one with a soft voice asks you. You still look down refusing to talk.

“Cat caught your tongue.” Hyunjae scoffs.

“I’m jacob.” The one with a soft voice says, you look up to see him give you a soft smile.

“Y/n.” You murmur and the boys start introducing themselves to you. You nod at them and for the rest of the car ride you stay quiet.

After maybe 45 minutes the car stops and they open the door and help you get out. You look up to see a huge villa remote from the city. You guys make your way to the villa and once you're inside they guide you to the couch. They all sit across from you while Sangyeon stands.

“Y/n, do you happen to know who we are?” He asks

You slowly shake your head looking at the 11 boys. Wait. 11 boys? NO WAY! You suddenly remember the new reports for the last two months. You've been kidnapped by…

The Boyz.

You hear the boys laugh at your shocked expression.

“Listen up.” Sangyeon speaks up “It wasn’t in our plan to keep you hostage, but now that you’re here we’ve got to make the best of it haha. As you can see our house is very messy and we’re desperately in need of a cleaner. So we’ll point out your room for you to get some rest, you start tomorrow. Any questions.”

“I don't have any clothes to wear besides these.”

“Well thank God we robbed a clothing store.” Kevin laughs.

“We’ll make sure to buy all the necessities you need.”Sangyeon assures you. He tells you what time they’ll come and wake you up and commands Jacob and Kevin to bring you to your room while Changmin grabs some bed sheets and pillows.

As they open the door to your new room, you see that it’s huge and empty with only curtains and an empty bed in the middle of it.

“You can decorate as time goes by.” Kevin tells you and you nod. Changmin comes in with the pillows and bed sheet and the 3 boys help u set up the bed.

Once your bed is all made up, Younghoon comes in with two pairs of pajamas and some normal clothes for you to wear. All hail one size fits all clothes. Once you put on your pajamas, you lie in bed and think about everything that has just happened until you fall asleep.

The sun shining through your curtains wakes you up. You groan in annoyance, put a pillow over your head and close your eyes again. Right as you begin to doze off again, your door opens. “It’s time to get up.” You hear someone say. You turn around to see Chanhee standing at your door. “Be downstairs in 30 minutes” He says, closing the door again. As you get up, you get a moment of realization.

You’ve been kidnapped…… YOU’VE BEEN KIDNAPPED! YOU NEED GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE.

But how.

While you get dressed you think of all the ways you could escape. Jump out of the window? Suicide. Grab a knife and kill them? You would already have been killed before you stabbed one of them. Sneak out of the house while they’re sleeping? PERFECT. But you needed to stay a bit to figure out the plan in detail. You need to know your way out and their sleeping schedule, you also need to gain their trust. You needed to be super nice to them for them to trust you.

You take a deep breath and step out of your room. When you arrive downstairs you see that all of the boys are awake. “Good Morning!” Haknyeon jumps up from the couch. “Good morning.” You respond back.

“Ah, you’re awake.” Sangyeon walks into the living room. “Sit down, I'll explain what you need to do.” He starts talking about you making their meals and doing their laundry followed by cleaning the whole house. You mentally sigh. This isn’t going to be easy.

Kevin introduces you to the kitchen and offers to help with making breakfast.

“Haknyeon, stop it!” Kevin grabs the spoon that Haknyeon is about to dip in the soup.

For the third time.

“I’m just tasting it for you guys.”

“You’ve tasted enough, get out!” Haknyeon pouts as he walks out of the kitchen, making you giggle.

“So, Kevin, how many times a week do you guys go out to steal?” “Hmm, maybe five to six times a week. Why?” He looks up at you. “Oh just wondering.” You lie. “Must be tiring.”

You continue to make the soup while wondering if it was possible to escape while they’re out stealing. You decide to ask Kevin for more information and he tells you that it usually takes 30 minutes to an hour for them to finish a small mission and that bigger missions sometimes take up to three hours.

He also tells you that he, Haknyeon and sunwoo are in charge of hacking, Younghoon, Jacob and Chanhee are always on the watch and Sangyeon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Eric, and Changmin are the ones in action.

“Wow this is good!” Eric says, stuffing his mouth with the soup you and Kevin made.

I should’ve put poison in it, you think to yourself.

“So Y/n, tonight we have another mission and since we can’t trust you alone in this house we have to take you with us from now on.” Sangyeon speaks up.

Fuck.

“Sure” You simply say. “So what’s tonight’s mission about, hyung?” Changmin asks. “Tonight we’re robbing the new shoe store in town.”

And they all go crazy

“Finally! I needed new Jordan's.” Eric jumps up from his seat. “We should rob a Balenciaga store next.” Sunwoo sighs. After the boys finally calm down and finish their breakfast, you go wash the dishes while they prepare for tonight’s robbery.

Finally the time has broken for tonight’s mission. While in the car, Sangyeon instructs you to stay in the car with the hackers while the rest of them go to their usual position. When it’s time for the rest to leave the car, you lean back and sigh.

You have no phone, no nothing, all you can do is pray you get out of this situation soon.

“I see you’re enjoying yourself.” Sunwoo chuckles. “Leave her alone Sunwoo. Why don’t you come and look at how we work?” Kevin motions for you to sit next to him.

You sit in between him and Haknyeon and look up at the huge screen. Kevin clicks on a couple of things and all of a sudden a bunch of security camera screens pop up. In one of them you see Jacob, Younghoon and Chanhee on the lookout while the rest make their way around the back of the building.

“If I click on this, all the footage of tonight will be deleted, but I'll do that after the guys come back.” He points at a key on his keyboard. “Now we have to crack the password. Haknyeon?”

You look at your right to see Haknyeon click on a bunch of keys to reveal the password.

“1206” He says, and Sunwoo repeats it into the walkie talkie.

After 30 minutes the rest rushes back in the car with a bunch of bags full of shoes and money.

“We almost got caught.” Eric pants out of breath.

“I saw no one in the store though?” Kevin asks, while deleting the camera footage.

“There was this old lady walking in the alley and Eric started freaking out” Hyunjae huffs.

“So an old lady walking in a dark alley in the middle of the night isn’t sus?!” Eric yells, making the others laugh.

When you guys arrive ‘home’, you decide to go to sleep first because you're exhausted. When you lie in your bed, you fall asleep almost immediately.

“I’m kinda getting bored of robbing, I need more thrill.” Changmin lay’s down on the couch.

“Yeah me too, I want some adrenaline.” Eric plops down next to him. “Try jumping off a cliff.” “Not funny, Sunwoo.”

“Oh! I have an idea!” Haknyeon jumps up. “Y/n is our maid now, right?” “Maid.” Younghoon snorts. “She’s cute, right? And we steal stuff, right?”

“Get to the point.” Sangyeon sighs.

“Let’s steal her heart.”

Hyunjae burst out laughing. “Are you insane? Why would we do that? That sounds so dumb.”

“You guys said you were bored and this sounds like a fun mission to me.”

“I agree, this could be fun.” Eric jumps up from the couch.

“So you wanna make her fall in love with one of us?” Jacob sits up. “Why would she do that, we’re holding her hostage.” Sunwoo laughs.

“That’s what makes it hard and more of a fun mission!”

“And when does the winner get?” Sangyeon speaks up.

“We have to do anything for that person for two whole years.”

“Are you out of your mind?” Hyunjae scoffs.

“I like the idea, I'm with Haknyeon.” Juyeon sides with the younger one.

“Fine it’s a good distraction, we need to get off the radar for a week, the police are still on our heels.” Sangyeon gives in while Haknyeon and Eric cheer.

i have just spent quite a bit analysing eddie’s room as best as i can through only a blurry bts video and the scarce set pics we have available and would like to share my discoveries, as well as semi decent quality versions of the posters i could find….. i did this mostly for personal use/curiosity, BUT if i can help some eddie fans decorate and/or give more insight on his environment to writers and/or artists it’s a big plus ;)

Alright. first off right when we walk in we’re greeted with this. Lovely image. first seen in episode one,

but i believe u can see it better here, along with a second poster

the skull i found pretty easy with just searching the image in pinterest,

here’s a pretty low quality version of it but. I did see links to people selling the print on ebay, though with some image enhancing i feel you could print this on your own if your heart desires it

for the poster beside it, i couldn’t find the image online, though this could be on me since i didn’t look extremely hard for this one. Sorry. what i made out from it though was that it’s an advertisement for the band Blessed Death performing their album “Kill or Be Killed” live from “the patio” on September 16. Not sure if this is meant to be a poster for an old show Eddie left up, or a future one he planned to attend, but it’s there nonetheless

moving on… To,

the bedside table! Wooooo!

to get the miscellaneous stuff out of the way first, some of the items are (correct me if i’m wrong about any of these) a deck of cards, two letters, a pair of aviator sunglasses, a bottle of beer (?), ashtray full of cigs, an unopened pack of trojan-enz condoms, empty bullet shells,

[Not Pictured, but they’re there too] a blue guitar pick, a blue toy car, along with a radio (? i think, i’m not too well versed on tech of the 80s) that has a red toy car sitting on top of it. :)

now, for the stuff i feel does matter,

there’s a magazine about auto parts & accessories! So good news to all you mechanic eddie likers out there… i guess it’s canon that he cares about cars somewhat? At least enough to own a magazine about the topic…

Above the nightstand hangs a print,

it’s not the exact image but i believe it’ll do with some cropping if you so wish to hang an exact replica on your wall!

moving on to above the bed, there’s a Judas Priest “Screaming for Vengeance” poster, with what i'm Pretty Sure is a Slayer tapestry beneath it.

and here's an image i tweaked with to imitate Eddie's poster,

im unsure if it's an Exact replica but it's definitely good enough for me

and for the Slayer tapestry, I could not find the exact one online, which is why i'm unsure if i'm even correct, but i'm like 97% sure that's the slayer logo. sooooooooo..................

To the side of the bed, there isn't much except for what i think is another nightstand, and the only thing i can make out on it is a red cup. Two posters hang on the wall over here, and there isn't much seeing as a window & an amp (?) take up almost all of this side of the room.

the one poster I can actually make out on this side of the room and even then it took me a hot minute to do so, is the bottom one. It's a poster for Anthrax's "Fistful of Metal" album. I looked, and couldn't find the Exact poster, so i made an imitation of it for an attempt at a clearer idea.

Above the closet, hangs an Anthrax banner.

now, onto the best quality image we'll have of Eddie's room in this post. Here i'll be describing from left to right, and really only focusing on the wall decor.

The first thing i can place my finger on here, is behind the dresser there is a poster of Iron Maiden's mascot "Eddie"

Now obviously this isn't the exact image, (different colours, different background) but if you take a look at what we Can see of it even as it's hidden behind the dresser and banner, it lines up pretty well (the axe, the hand, the bit of shoulder)

the Corroded Coffin banner: An obviously homemade thing, that looks well-loved and worn, even ripping at the top. I wonder if this is one Eddie and his bandmates made for when they play at the Hideout that he ended up keeping?

The acoustic guitar that reads "THIS MACHINE SLAYS DRAGONS": Most likely a reference to Woody Guthrie's "This machine kills fascists"

A lamp is bolted into the wall, and another one of Eddie's black bandanas hangs off of it. Beside the lamp, there is a poster for the band Massacre. Sort of looks like an ad for a show, i'm not tooooo sure. Couldn't find any copies of it online.

The next poster I can make out is for the band Liege Lord, and seems as if it's from a live show from '84. Beside it is a poster for a live "Metal Night", the only band I can see on it is Nasty Savage.

Above these two, is another two posters, though the only one I can make out is a Judas Priest "Defenders of The Faith" poster. Here it is in clear quality:

Beside it and a bit under it I'm guessing, is a mirror. Above the mirror there is a mount for Eddie's "Sweetheart" so she hangs down over it. A limited-edition replica of Eddie's guitar was available at Guitar Center, and there were only about 2000 of them made. It retailed for around $899 USD, and even then, that was the lower-priced version. An EXACT recreation would cost almost $5k USD. Jesus H Christ.

Just underneath the guitar, there's again a poster for the band Nasty Savage. In front of the poster, oddly enough, there is a full pepper shaker. I've seen people speculate that Eddie keeps this around just in case, seeing as if you sniff some black pepper during a harsh high, it can help combat anxiety and paranoia.

And a last thing that is probably honestly a stretch, but oh well.

Above the other window in Eddie's room, there's something hanging. I think this could be a red version of a Hellfire shirt. Don't ask me to explain why, you either see it or you don't.

OH and also, don’t think i forgot because i almost did,

Eddie’s infamous cuffs he’s got hanging on his wall, i think beside his closet? . An honourable mention for sure.

And that's about it I think. i know I didn't really mention or go into detail on his guitars and amps,but i'm simply not knowledgeable in instruments for that. Though I think in total he has three guitars. idek how many amps don't ask me to count.

P.S. if i missed out on anything in the room or didn’t mention something in a picture, it’s probably because i literally could not make out what it was/said no matter how hard i tried. My weak little eyes and tiny brain can only do so much. Sighs

AN: Hello everyone, and welcome! I present a new indulgence, as I am a simple man subject to the whim of my hyperfixations. I hope that you all will enjoy this tale, though I warn it will be a tad less carefree. Darker subject matter will be tread in this series. But! My indulgences will shine through regardless, and my trigger warnings will be at the beginning of each installment. You ran.

The thrower knocked against your leg as you fled, almost tripping you numerous times. You couldn't bring yourself to fix it, though.

You didn't stop, even when your ribs started to ache and your vision went patchy. The pod is just in the next clearing, you kept telling yourself, the next clearing for certain. Once you were inside it, you could…

It had no lock. Damon hadn't deemed it necessary. Maybe...maybe that other man just wouldn't find you. The one that Damon had shot and tried to thieve everything from. How could he have believed that his greed would go unchecked?! Those two men had clearly been slaving in the Bakhroma Green for ages. Months at a bare minimum. Now one of them was dead, and the other had been wounded by Damon before your oh-so-illustrious companion had succumbed to the injuries inflicted by that railgun.

You had been involved in dig disputes before, of course, but you were hard-pressed to think of a time where one had been settled with such...messy finality.

You entered the pod with a gasp of relief, jerking your helmet off to breathe the comfortingly stale air. You dropped the thrower by the door, unable to bring yourself to even think about using it.

Damon was dead.

You pressed your hands to your temples and sank to the floor. The man who had bullied, browbeat and press-ganged you into this remote locale, was dead. And you…

You had no idea how to urge this pod back up past the thick canopy. You were a digger. Digging was what you were good at. It was what you knew. You were not a pilot.

Despair took hold then, as you realized you were truly trapped. Precious seconds ticked by while you laid there on the floor, a curled-up ball of miserable floater. There were three cycles left before there would be no escape, before the freighter slingback would be entirely inaccessible.

You dragged yourself out of your funk eventually, doing your best to wipe your face clean of all your tears. You could figure this out. All Damon had been good for was flying, right? You would inventory the supplies and see how many days you could eke out. Maybe you could reach someone on the long range.

...

The sorting and cataloging work kept you busy. Which was good. You liked busy. Busy limited headspace. Busy kept people alive on digs.

It was a little warm inside the pod once the sunlight started beating down on it. You wiped your sweat off with your forearm for the millionth time, flipping through your notes. If you were cautious about certain resources and supplements, you might be able to last two months down on the Green moon. But that was only if your filters continued to hold recharges. Uncharitably, you wished you had taken Damon's before you bolted.

There was nothing for it. You would just have to make it back to the freighter in time. Two stands of miserable living would do you no good if you were still on this moon. Judging from the thickness of the pollen in the air, the plant life would be noxious. You wouldn't survive without your filters.

You leafed through the radio manual, flipping the power switch and grimacing at the burst of static that greeted your ears through the Arcsoko long range headset. "To anyone listening, this is Dasha Landcraft Rental, parcel-class, pod number-" you paused, fumbling through to the back of the manual for the number scrawled there by the company. "Number...eight-eight-three-nine-seven-five dash-zero-zero--" you stopped to inhale, "-two-seven-four-two. We have landed off course. I repeat, we are off target in the Green. Pilot lost." Your voice started to shake. "P-Pilot lost. If a-anyone is within range, please respond."

You flipped the switch on the signal amp and then pushed the looper, setting the message to repeat broadcasting for an hour. It would be a varying amount of expenditure on your chit for every additional hour you wanted to keep your transmission on the air, and you didn't exactly have money to throw around, so all you could hope was that someone would hear your distress message within the first free hour.

You kept the headset on, rocking back and forth in your chair as the minutes ticked down. A few times there were bursts of static that sounded like someone was about to come on air, but they peaked as fast as they arrived.

Hope faded the longer you sat there, sorting and stacking the brightly-colored Calori-pouches of Pastors Henry slurry. You staunchly ignored the way your lower lip was quivering. Damon hated it when you cried.

Within the last few precious minutes of your free broadcast, a noise outside sent your heart into your throat. You yanked off the headphones, scrambling for the nav console. The wall of bulky, jutting screens was the first thing you could seriously consider cover, but it was only once you'd tucked yourself beneath it that you remembered you had left the thrower by the door.

You started forward to grab it, but ended up just lowering your body closer to the floor as the noises advanced, footsteps you realized. So he had found you. He would certainly kill you if only for what your partner had done. It had been careless of you to start your broadcast so soon after returning to the pod. You had essentially beamed out a homing signal to your exact location.

For an hour.

This was it. Cowering in a rented pod, weapon feet away, clutching an itemized list of all the things to eat and drink. A fitting end, for a timid dust-scratcher like yourself.

I will not cry or beg, you told yourself sternly. It would do no good here. It was better to face your demise with some shred of dignity, and Damon had just gotten more angry when you cried.

The hatch hissed loudly and you somehow made yourself even smaller while that man, the talkative one, lurched up into the pod. He stumbled, fighting with the latches on his helmet for a good ten seconds before finally managing to get the thing off, thus affording you a clear view at his face.

He didn't look particularly cruel, or Brism-busted like Damon had. Mainly, he just looked tired and dirty. He had a head of shaggy brown hair, olive skin and deep-set brown eyes. His nose was hawklike, prominent even alongside that heavy brow and the square jut of his scruffy jaw. When he turned his head, you spotted a curious chunk of blond hair that grew determinedly out at a different angle from the right side of his hairline, Mallen streak, your brain supplied oh-so-helpfully. An old scar, silver with age, meandered along his left cheekbone, and a halfway-maintained mustache shielded his upper lip.

His eyes roamed the pod curiously for a moment, taking in all the notes you had tacked to the walls in your inventory sweep. He absolutely noticed the thrower abandoned by the door.

"This is a vexsome position that your friend Damon has put you into, I'm afraid." He drawled, his pistol loose at his side while he slowly rotated. "I will not apologize for my hand in his death, as he wounded myself, razed my associate and was planning to abscond with several stands worth of my hard work. His greed outplayed his hand."

Dark eyes landed on you, curled up against the wall beneath the console screens, and the smile that bloomed under his mustache was decidedly predatory.

"I'm...I have food." You began to bargain shakily.

"You certainly do, don't you?" He crooned in a patronizing tone, the thrower pistol humming as he primed it.

"I'm a good digger. Th-That's the only reason Damon dragged me here." You cringed when he took a step towards you. "P-Please, I didn't-"

"I have no doubt that whatever it was, you surely didn't. You could have picked me off easily out there had you wanted to, plenty of range on that thrower. What is a gentle soul like you doing with a character that had such a predisposition for marauderous pilferin', I wonder?" The man mused, his expression cheery to an unsettling degree. The grip he had on the pistol didn't waver an inch.

"He promised I-I would be able to finally quit with the points this planet would make." Why bother lying? This man would just kill you anyway. "B-But the pod, it...something happened during the landing. A malfunction, I'm not sure."

"Ah, so your friend Damon was the Ahab of this vessel as well. No surprise there, that steadfast moral compass of his must have seen you two just flawlessly across the vacuous expanse."

Your lower lip began to quiver again and you dug around in your suit pockets for the lone gem that you had uncovered on your trek earlier. "I don't...I don't have anything to offer aside from the supplies and this. But...p-please, I just…"

Your sketchbook tumbled out of your pocket as you removed the gem. The barrel of his gun grazed the side of your head in obvious response to the action and you froze in terror. "You keep those hands where I can see them, gentle soul. I am not in a gaming mood at the mo…" His words trailed off when he caught sight of the massive pearl cradled in your palms. "Well well, it seems you've got a bit of bargaining power yet."

"I don't need much food, I p-promise." You had told yourself you wouldn't beg, but this seemed...very close to begging. "J-Just water and a pilot." You extended the aurelac, knowing full well that you were surrendering your ability to go home. That miserable rock would have paid for the lease on the pod and passage back to the Pug at the bare minimum. Which you had pointed out to Damon, but he insisted on trekking further. You found yourself agreeing wholeheartedly with this other man's earlier observation, his greed outplayed his hand.

"I am not overly inclined to rid this world of you, gentle soul. If I am reading the situation correct, you are not here because you wish to be." The man said after several breathless moments. He didn't seem concerned about taking the gem from you at the moment. "However, we are at a bit of a stalemate when it comes to locomotion."

His gun dropped from the side of your head and you flinched again when he stretched out his hand towards you. "H-Here, here! Just p-please, don't-" You shoved the rock against his fingers, your eyes shut tight with anticipation. Why couldn't he just shoot you and get it over with?!

"I'm offering you a hand up, gentle soul. Squirrel away your bargaining chip for the time being." The man said, gently easing the gem aside. "I am not an unreasonable man. Let's get you up off that floor and we shall discuss terms as civilized folk do."

"You...you're not going to kill me?" You asked weakly, daring to open your eyes.

"At this juncture? No." The man tilted his head. "Are you planning on doin' anything nefarious that may encourage my own expedient shuffle off of my mortal coil?"

You had to take a minute just to try and figure out what he'd actually said. It had been ages since you'd interacted with anyone aside from Damon, and your late 'partner' hadn't had the most expansive vocabulary. "I've never killed anyone before." You replied, your voice a whisper.

"A prudent answer, to be certain, for one never knows what the tides of fate have in store for them." He pondered for a breath, his eyes almost impossibly dark. "I'll take your word all the same, face value. You seem an honest sort, gentle soul. Makes me inclined to wonder how you got tangled up in this sorry soirée, though." His boot bumped against your sketchbook and he toed it a little closer to you, obligingly keeping his distance.

"That's not...it's not important right now." You snatched the book up and crammed it back into your pocket. Then, you floundered into one of the flight chairs, sitting sideways so you were able to maintain the barest pretense of eye contact. You clasped your trembling hands in front of you, trying to remember to keep them where he could see them.

"The terms will be as follows: we work together to get this craft airworthy once again. By my late partner's calculations, Kevva rest his soul, we've only got a few turns of twenty-four left until we're well and truly cut adrift on this forsaken Nessus." The way that he was using the term 'we' had your chest strangely tight. "I am loathe to be restricted here for the rest of my days, especially with a royal's ransom stashed in my trophy case. I doubt you wish to suffer that same perdition."

He leaned forward and you shifted back on reflex, quickly dropping your gaze from the scar on his cheek to the floor. "I understand." You said softly. "What do you want me to do? I'm not...I don't know anything about the nav systems or engines or-"

"Gentle soul, how long had you wandered this world with that disreputable thief?"

To your horror, you couldn't actually remember how long it had been. It was a haze of silent travel, punctuated by violent outbursts as you tried to make yourself seem even smaller than you already were-

"I did not mean to wound you, gentle soul. I offer my most sincere reparations." He apologized quietly.

"What?"

He gestured with his hand, a little slower now. "You are weepin'."

"Oh! Oh, I'm sorry." You fumbled to wipe your face off on your sleeve. "I'm alright, I'm fine." You assured him with a watery smile.

He studied you for what felt like a lifetime, those brown eyes boring into your own. "I am Ezra, gentle soul. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

Ezra. That's right, he had introduced himself as such to Damon before everything had gone so incredibly wrong. "I'm sorry about what happened to your friend." You said thickly. "I didn't...I didn't want anyone to get hurt."

He waved off your words, scoffing a bit. "Number Two was a utility, not a friend. I am none too aggrieved by his loss, and I implore you not to trouble yourself with such dour ruminations on his behalf." Ezra stretched, then swiveled his head around. "What does our supply situation look like? I can see your scrawlings, naturally, but I would prefer it from the merchant's mouth."

You leafed through your notebook pages. "If we're careful, we should have enough to last one month." Split between the two of you rations were a bit harder to calculate, so you went with the safe route of halving the time evenly. "I don't know your appetite. Damon would go days without food sometimes, because of the sleep meds."

"I am ravenous at any and all opportunities, I must confess." Ezra admitted. "Been surviving off bits bars for the last four stands. Calori-paste is my damn marrow at this point in time."

"W-We still have some powdered things, tea, if...I mean can I offer you...um, some coffee?" You warily turned your back to him and started rummaging in one of the many side compartments, pulling out a tiny sealed bag of dehydrated coffee mix.

"I would be…" He paused, sounding like he was fighting for breath. It was so dramatic that you actually looked at him, a touch alarmed. "I would be forever in your debt if you would grace me with so much as a watered-down teaspoon of that heavenly beverage." He settled on one of the side benches, his pistol holstered for the time being. "We will not need rations to last the month, gentle soul, so our best option in the event of calamitous mechanical difficulties may be to take any excess off to the Saders to trade for goods."

"Saders?"

"They are a group of people that inhabit the Green. Religious settlers, tedious scavengers."

Your brow furrowed. You were no religious expert. "Like Kevvaites?" You tried.

"No no, not so much with the monotheism. They believe in the Tides of the universe. The Currents, a certain...ebb and flow of life." Ezra waved a hand to illustrate. "All very poetic, giveth and taketh kinda' sort. Not bad folk to deal with, all things considered, but voraciously against conventional arms and armaments."

You wracked your brain for any other useful items you may have stowed away from Damon, lest he pawn them to pay for his drugs of choice. After you set the hydro to churn the precious dust into coffee, you knelt and shuffled your small personal storage compartment open. "I don't have a lot to offer, I'm afraid." You murmured, tugging out a few duct tape sealed bags. "Almost all the basic hygiene items, my emergency filters...anything he could get his hands on, really. He would just trade it for more drops or Brism." You continued apologetically.

"That man was a junkie." Ezra said bluntly. "Now, I have my own vices and I am not above reproach, but I always assured that my consumption was never at the cost of someone else's comfort."

Your throat felt tight and you ducked your head down, avoiding eye contact. "I...I'm sorry."

"Whyever for, gentle soul?" He asked curiously.

"I-I shouldn't have-" You had no idea what you were apologizing for, your words dying in your throat. After so much time with Damon, you did it automatically. The hydro beeped, offering you the opportunity to bolt. Which you took immediately. "Coffee!" You announced brightly, the flimsy cardboard container that it dispensed into almost scorching your hand. You passed it off to him, warning, "Be careful, it's-"

Ezra slugged half the scalding contents in one go, his Adam's apple bobbing convulsively.

"-h-hot." You finished weakly.

"Kevva above, it sure is." He grunted, shuddering. "God damn, I have missed that acrid nightmare of flavor burnin' my esophagus like Satan himself. Absence truly does make the heart grow fonder." He pawed idly at his wounded arm after a moment, grimacing. "I don't suppose that Damon kept any of the usual med supplies? A field kit, maybe?" The older man queried hopefully.

You hesitated, gnawing on your lower lip. "He...didn't." You answered carefully.

Ezra looked momentarily distraught before he seemed to catch himself, his expression smoothing into something closer to weary resignation. "Well, can't say I'm surprised. They're worth good currency in a trade. Bodes poorly for the survival of my arm, however." He said glibly, the wince that followed contrasting dramatically with his unphased tone.

"Y...Your-?"

"Once the dust gets in, it don't take too long for the fester to permeate." Ezra explained. The wound on his arm oozed a sickly, yellowish fluid down the sleeve of his exosuit when he pressed his hand over it. "It wasn't originally just myself and Number Two, you understand. We had a full crawling party before the muti--" He jerked to a stop, shooting you a wary glance. "Now, gentle soul, I don't want you thinkin' that you have anythin' to fear from me. The mutiny was...a misunderstanding. You saw today what depths desperate men stoop to over a bit of aurelac."

You nodded, your throat gone dry.

"There were...concerns voiced about equal shares, it was a Kevva-forsaken mess. I don't know how many times I've told folk to draw up their union contracts before they get boots on the ground. Nobody listens, though. It's always 'mutiny once we're planetside' this and 'we can take everything' that." He griped. "Words and metal flew and, regrettably, myself and a few others were marooned on this damnable moon." Ezra drew his hand away from his arm, that yellowed fluid clinging to his fingers in thick, pitchy strands, "We quickly found that these climes are fiendishly inhospitable to floaters in damaged suits."

Your lip felt like it was about to drop off your face from how hard you were worrying it. "I...D-Do you promise not to hurt me?" You finally asked.

Ezra gave you a look of confusion, brown eyes narrowing slightly. "Gentle soul, I thought I had made it abundantly clear that-"

"Just-! Just say yes or no."

"Yes, dammit, but I fail to see what that's got to-"

"I h-have a kit. A f-field kit." You stammered out. His eyebrows drew together in a thunderous frown and you saw his jaw working. "Wait! Wait, just let me f-f-finish." You extended your hands in a placative gesture, your heart hammering wildly in your chest. "I...trade. I'll trade you. Nobody does anything for free, right? I'll help you, and in exchange, I want you to promise me you won't hurt me."

"What would you do if I did hurt you, gentle soul?" Ezra inquired softly. Your breath hitched. "Indeed, what would you be able to do? Especially now that I'm aware you've got a kit hidden somewhere." The man got to his feet and you immediately flinched. "Your powers of persuasion need some...refinin', but I am not immune to civility. Gentle soul, if you give me that kit not only am I willin' to work with you to get us off this moon, I'll throw a chunk of my haul your way as a show of good faith." He offered, dark eyes watching you closely. "And, I will give you my word as an individual with the slightest, infantessible modicum of moral standing, that I won't lay a finger on you fueled by dubious or malicious intent."

You stared up at him, your mind entirely blank from panic. His strange words certainly weren't helping your comprehension. "I..." No, no, this was wrong. He was putting far too much up for his end of the bargain! He must be planning something, some sort of trick.

Ezra cocked his head. "You still with me, gentle soul?" He asked cautiously. "Don't tell me you're strokin' out, it'd be a shame to lose such pleasant company."

Your laugh was a jagged hiccup in your chest. Ezra huffed out a breath after a moment, obviously uncomfortable. He probably thought you had gone moony, entirely lunar. "I'm...I'm sorry, I...that's a good, um, deal, b-but I can't accept it." You struggled to get your words out. "Y-You…that is, I don't...I don't want…" to be like Damon.

"Perhaps your persuasion isn't nearly as uncalibrated as I originally surmised. Very well, gentle soul. How much is my dominant arm worth to you?" Ezra queried dryly, misunderstanding your hesitation. "Because to me, as a workin' man, it's worth its weight in aurelac sixteen times over."

You hadn't thought of it like that. You felt a bit foolish now. "Oh. Oh, I'm sorry. I...I'm sorry."

"Kevva above, you are a tender thing. I don't mean to be so grim, but that's the harsh reality that I've been livin' with since I found myself marooned. It's a miracle I've managed this long with the meager supplies allotted to us." He said, sounding rueful. "I mourn my stomach every morning as I eat those crunchy bastard bits bars and I pray for my sufferin' to end."

You didn't mean to snort, but his colorful terminology caught you off-guard. His smile was less predatory this time, as if he hadn't expected your mirth. You knelt, burrowing even deeper into your compartment until you hit the false bottom. There, underneath several sheets of whitewashed cardboard, resided your precious field kit. You had traded the entirety of your meager share from an equally-meager haul for it stands ago, once you realized how deeply entrenched Damon was in his addiction. You had always clung to the faint hope (albeit perhaps in vain) that you might be able to escape from Damon and, if you struck out on your own, you knew you would at the very least need a good field kit as a failsafe for emergencies.

You hesitated before you tugged the box free, your fingers stroking the smooth plastic. You felt silly for the melancholic sensation that rose in your chest, it was just a field kit. You could always get another one. But it had seemed like so much more than a porta-surge. Until today, it had represented your dreams of getting out from beneath Damon's thumb.

"Not to-" You had been so lost in thought that the unexpected sound of his voice caught you by surprise. You bolted to your feet in a rush and the top of your head met the bottom of his jaw with a bone-jarring impact. Your vision faded momentarily from the force of the blow, black dots exploding and fading out.

The older man grunted, staggering back a step. He proceeded to sit down heavily on one of the bench seats as you held your aching head in pain. The porta-surgery box laid abandoned on the floor. You could only imagine what level of punishment you were in for now.

"Martyr's malfeasance, gentle soul, if you try to ring my bell like that again you may do me in." He groaned hoarsely, working his jaw and tonguing the inside of his cheek. "What the fuck is your cranium comprised of?"

You didn't answer, sniffling a little bit and blinking back your tears as you scooped the field kit off the ground. You held the box out to him, your eyes focused on your boots while you struggled to keep your hiccups to a minimum; Damon hated when you would cry.

You cringed when a gloved hand rested gently on the top of your head, clumsy fingers parting your hair. What was he…? "You are goin' to have a fine bruise, gentle soul. Mercifully you didn't break skin. Guess my jawline isn't as sharp as I've been claimin'."

Was he...was he joking with you? You dared to glance up at him and you were startled by how concerned he looked. Oh, I'm still holding the kit. You gracelessly pushed the field kit against his stomach, trying to use it to give yourself some breathing room.

Ezra seemed to get the hint and he shifted a step back, taking the kit as he went. "Kevva, this is one of the portable surgicals. Sequestering it was the intelligent choice, gentle soul." He muttered, almost like he was speaking to himself. "I am loathe to willfully use your resources, so I shall do my best to be prudent." You could feel him looking at you again. "This is all that you have, isn't it?" He asked abruptly. "The kit, those few possessions you've already dug out of that compartment."

You just cleared your throat and avoided his searching gaze with studious intent. "You're wasting time." You whispered.

"True enough." Ezra agreed. He flopped back down on the bench and rummaged around in the box, tugging loose the tiny orange sepsis kit and the patch gun with a grimace. "Hello, old friend." He then raised his voice to address you once more, "I will be makin' a copious amount of noise presently, gentle soul."

You nodded jerkily, covering your ears and turning your head away.

Q2 2021 BC ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULES & REVIEW

Members may earn up to 18 points for writing, by the end of June 30 KST:

Up to three solo paras of 400+ words based on their quarterly schedule (does not count toward your monthly limit). (three points each)

Up to three threads of eight posts (four per participant, including the starter) based on the monthly schedule. (three points each)

OVERALL COMPANY

2021 is BC Entertainment’s twenty-fifth year in business and the company plans to do a few things to commemorate that throughout the year. In the second quarter, the company is holding a gala with CEO Kim Byungchul as the guest of honor. The guest list mostly consists of business types for the sake of executive networking, but idols under the company are invited as well. Technically, attendance by BC idols is not mandatory, but management may push them very hard to attend if they see it as beneficial to do so.

Important dates:

April 24: BC Entertainment Gala at Intercontinental Hotel Parnas in Gangnam, Seoul.

June 8-13: Triple Fantasy Festival in Indio, CA, USA.

DECIPHER

Decipher makes their Japanese comeback at the beginning of April and will spend the next month and a half with occasional rehearsals for the concerts they’ll hold in Japan at the end of May. Most of their time this quarter will be spent on their next Korean comeback as a priority, though. Throughout April, they’ll record the album and will go in for fittings. This comeback has a dramatized MV, so the fittings are more focused on making sure the stylist’s vision matches the director’s vision once on the members than the probable need for any tailoring or avant garde styling. In May, they’ll get to learning the choreography and will shoot the music video ahead of the official release in June. Much of the filming will be individual for the music video since it involves a lot of acting with female actresses. Promotions for their new album will be the standard fare for Decipher: music shows, radio shows, and fan signs. This will be one of the busiest quarters of the year for Decipher, and the members are encouraged to invest themselves in group activities this quarter.

↳ CHAMPION

Near the end of the month, the CHAMPION members will fly out to Japan to hold their concert at Tokyo Dome. Decipher and Knight have played Tokyo Dome before, but Unity hasn’t. Regardless of history, it’s a pretty big deal that a fresh sub-unit is playing such a venue, so BC and Dimensions wants to make sure it goes off without a hitch. After the concert ends, the unit members will begin working on a comeback as they go in to record a single in the studio in June.

BEE

BEE’s second quarter of the year is spent riding out the rest of their most recent comeback era and preparing to make the summer comeback fans are anticipating even without any official announcement yet by recording the mini-album at the end of the quarter. The majority of April is occupied with the members’ continued promotions for “I’ll Be Yours”, including occasional fan signs and the continuing run of music show promotions. The song is well-received. It’s not another number one hit in their bags, but anything BEE releases is sure to peak easily within the top ten of charts due to their status of longevity, and “I’ll Be Yours” isn’t an exception. In time they aren’t promoting in April, BEE will be preparing to bring their Live Concert: B concert to Hong Kong. The set list will be the same as their Seoul dates, so rehearsals are intended to keep the members fresh on the stages and adjust to any minor set and prop changes needed due to taking the show out of the country. A photo shoot for Esquire Korea and more duties as ambassadors for 11 St round out the quarter’s activities.

KNIGHT

Their comeback in mid-April is the main event of Knight’s second quarter. Promotions have been amped up some in comparison to their last comeback in response to Knight’s album sales’ slow but consistent downward trend. “RPM” doesn’t look to be the comeback that will break that trend, but BC is throwing Knight into filming some promotional videos and appearances, not to mention a drastically increased number of fan signs, to prevent angering anymore fans, some of whom are still opposed to BC’s collaboration with Dimensions to include Knight members in CHAMPION. The latter part of the quarter will bring other activities and preparations to focus on for the members of Knight in either CHAMPION or Knight Light, and will also have the members spending a lot of time preparing for the tour they’ll embark on in the second half of the year. The earliest preparations will begin in May with dance practices and early fittings, but June will bring the bulk of learning new choreography and preparing special remixes and stages. Each member will get a chance to perform a solo stage during the tour, consisting of one of the following two options: 1) a vocal and/or rap and/or dance cover of their choice or 2) their most recently released promoted solo single (if applicable), that they will begin to rehearse in June as well.

LIPSTICK

Lipstick’s Ticket comeback is well-received. They don’t have the undivided attention of the public anymore the way they once did, but their fanbase is steady in the wake of Queendom and their hold on their specific subset of the market isn’t being very actively challenged these days. “Ticket” promotions proceed with the usual round of fan signs and, radio guestings, and music shows, but once they finished, they’re almost immediately called into a meeting with the news that they’ll begin working on their next comeback right away. While BEE is most well-known as the summer queens of the company, Lipstick is marketable for the season as well and BC wants to capitalize on that by pushing them for a special summer mini-album release. In May, they’ll be briefed on the concept of the comeback and will record the mini-album. In the back half of May, they’ll learn the choreography a little more rushed than usual. As June comes around, the focus will shift to fittings and photo shoots for the album jacket and promotion materials ahead of their comeback release in July.

After CHARM finishes their Korean comeback promotions, their team’s attention will turn to preparing for a Japanese comeback in June with a new single and mini-album. Around this time is also when CHARM will begin to rehearse for their Japan tour, which they’ll be holding in the third quarter. Luckily for them, this doesn’t involve learning much new choreography, as they should already be familiar with most of it.

WISH

"More & More” promotions carry through to the end of April. There isn’t much need to bother with additional schedules like radio show guestings or filming videos for other YouTube channels at WISH’s level, especially considering BC would like to let Chroma take that attention up in April as they promote their first sub-unit debut. After promotions have ended, WISH are quickly informed they’ll need to start preparing for their next comeback, which will start a trilogy of a more elegant lean within their color pop concept. In May, after they’ve had a photo shoot for the cover of the American Harper’s Bazaar (a benefit of their recent signing with an American label), they’ll be in the studio to record the mini-album and, at the end of the month, will be spending time in the dance studio to learn the choreography. June will involve the final comeback preparations, including fittings and the album photo shoot before the members make their comeback in July.

CHROMA

While the members of Chroma Crystal make their debut as a new unit, the second batch of members slowly eases into preparations to release their solo singles in this quarter. While everyone is working on their own schedules, the members will also begin to film another predebut project BC has in mind for them — a webdrama. They’ve been cast in these roles and in May and June, they’ll film the first season and its special clips. Multiple seasons of the webdrama are planned to get the group’s name out. (Admin note: Characters will have the muse’s name and not the Loona members’ names.)

[Orange] will record her song and learn the choreography in April so that she’s prepared to film her music video (which [Indigo] makes a pre-reveal appearance in) in May. This leads into her official single release in the final month of the quarter. Chroma’s fans are growing with each solo single release, hers included.

[Yellow], on the other hand, begins to record her song and learn its choreography in May (after receiving the original demo the month prior) and the music video will be filmed in June — there’s winter imagery in the song for a “Christmas in summer” feeling that BC thinks will make her standout, or it represents something about Chroma’s lore timeline being out of chronological order; it’s unclear as she gets different explanations from different staff that makes it seem like not everyone is on the same page. [Orange] makes a prominent appearance in her music video.

[Indigo] starts going into the studio in June to record her song, and will work on the choreography the same month, though she’ll spend the beginning of the quarter being sent demos for potential songs as BC whittles down the list to decide what she’ll debut with.

As with all previous releases, other members are encouraged to come visit the other members during their individual preparations so that the company can record behind-the-scenes videos of members interacting.

↳ CHROMA CRYSTAL

This quarter, the unit makes their debut with “Girl Front” and will promote on music shows for a month before immediately coming back with “Sweet Crazy Love”. The members will hold their first fansigns over the two months of consecutive promotions. For the most part, promotions will be kept to music shows, fan signs, and a few interviews and appearances during “Sweet Crazy Love” promotions.

On the final day of their repackage promotions, the unit will hold their first ever fanmeeting for fans. They’ll hold two shows on the same day, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. The members will give live performances of “Starlight”, “Sweet Crazy Love”, “Loonatic”, a medley of their solo songs, and a cover of Knight’s “My Answer”. Each of the three members will also have to perform a solo cover stage of their choice during the fanmeeting. They have to sing/rap for the cover (it can’t be a dance-only cover), aren’t allowed to cover another member’s solo, and should keep in mind the small stage size (elaborate production and backup dancers/vocalists won’t be available). In between songs, the members will talk about themselves, such as their training experience, experiences preparing their solo and unit songs, and their hopes for the group, and at the end, they’ll take questions and requests from attendees through an open KakaoTalk chat room.

These last three are my Yuletide stories, which are still anonymous. Hint: one bumps one of the other fandoms to 2, one is one of my oldest fandoms, and one is a new fandom to me.

So my writing was still Good Omens dominated, but due to falling back into exchange fandom (ironically due to Tumblr/Discord style exchanges reminding me of how much I love Dreamwidth/AO3 style exchanges), and Exchanges After Dark being so bloody enabling, my output diversified a lot. M/m dominated, with a good sprinkling of f/f.

Standouts are Original Work--I discovered I love writing Original Work to specifications--and Deep Space 9, for which I had just written some femslash back way before AO3. My burning love of Garak/Bashir was reignited and I want to write them ALL the fic. Also, having got over my initial fear of writing Wodehouse, I think there will be a lot of Mike/Psmith in my future. The DARLINGS.

I received some utterly amazing and brilliant gifts.

Deepest regrets: I started no less than six Revolutionary Girl Utena fics and didn't finish any. I got all tangled up in my head about charity auction pressure and trying to make it perfect, tehre was peripheral wank and bullying that really upset me, and then I got guilt paralysis. My new year's resolution is just to relax and write it. I really really love Juri/Shiori, it should be easy if I just get out of my own way.

Plans for next year: Juri/Shiori first.

Exchange wise, I've signed up to Bulletproof, Past Imperfect Future Unknown and Five Figure Fan Exchange. I'll definitely be doing Chocolate Box, Just Married, Yuletide, AU Exchange, Multifandom Trope Fest, IdProQuo and any historical based flashes that run. Also I'm really hoping We Heart Bellies runs again, that was a blast.

I want to write all the DS9, Psmith and, of course, Good Omens. I want to try writing Nero Wolfe (I had some spectacular gifts in the fandom for Yuletide) and maybe return to writing Blake's 7 and Xena. And I want to write Wonder Woman Diana/Barbara.

Lots of Opinions out there.

Exploring the internet-verse is fun, frustrating and confusing. Even in this tiny corner of audiophile stuff many people have carved out small kingdoms of ideas. Often those are in contradiction with many others.

Ah the Wilderness!

I was playing those A&M Audiophile Series discs I have. The sampler is particularly interesting. It has three tracks from Super Tramp, two from Cat Stevens, and one each from Gino Vannelli, Styx, and Chuck Mangione (more on him later). The sampler is rather rare as it was not supposed to be sold, it was for store demos. I got one anyway. If the cover was in good shape it would command lots of $$$.

It was the early 80s droogs when big hair was in. My wife has the original Gino Vannelli Album from which the sample cut was copied. Well played but cared about. Gino on the cover had magnificent hair. We compared the old copy played on her department store stereo back in the day to the fancy one. Her old issue was pretty good with the only significant thing being it was compressed. Not too much but enough to stand out in the comparison. There is also a lot of good to be said about micro-line styli that can find unworn groove surfaces. The audiophile mix was cleaner and far less compressed if any at all. Both pretty good. Big nostalgia going.

Now we hit a minor diversion. I googled A&M audiophile and there were lots of opinions. The Steve Hoffman site forum generally liked them. But I found a different opinion here:

These guys slag fancy "audiophile" issues. ( Imagine saying the word audiophile with a crinkled up nose and sneer) Don't like the A&M A-Phile and don't talk about MOFI.

They have a different take where they search out the best pressings of the original commercial release. (You know the ones compressed to sound good on AM Radio). It is true that a fresh stamper is better than a later generation one. If you get an early pressing off of a fresh stamper it is very nice, BUT...

They will search through as many copies of a given album as they can find and compare, rank and price accordingly. They are a store after all. I just want them to cool their jets a bit. Impressive they get so many copies actually.

They have their niche and there are some wonderful original albums for sale there. A genuine Mercury Living Presence for $350 USD.

My quibble with them is of course they are pushing POP releases with all the sins we know those have. To each their own.

One of the albums they liked was Chuck Mangione "The Children of Sanchez". I have that one. It is a collection of music composed for a film. It has impressive sound. A double vinyl album. I really like the first cut which has amazing sound. The rest is quite fine too. When I say amazing I mean it. Big eyes, open mouth amazing. Mr Mangione was big in the 70s to 80s as a POP/Jazz guy. He played Flugelhorn.

I agree. Big horns deep Bass the word is impact.

I have no idea if my copy is better or worse by their standards I bought it new on a whim when horn playing artists were popular. I think it is a good copy.

It is interesting how the ARC Cl60 handled it. Yes the Bass is deep, but I notice less whack. The Franken-amp has lots of Whack. The ARC compensated for that with that lovely texture it gives drums. I imagine there is a fair bit of feedback distortion down low which presents as texture. It is different.

I bet I could make a killer arrangement by making a bi-amp system with the Franken-amp down low and the ARC up high. Err probably not. Active cross-overs are a bitch and the Franken-amp has great mid-range. When spring comes it goes back in the stack. The ARC is a good space heater.

You can debate how one copy of an album is better or worse than another. It is a moot issue if you just want the music and this is what you can get. The A&M audiophile issues were made with more care than the mass pressings. Likely that is enough. And they are old now too. Another take is that A&M made pretty good recordings in general.

If Mofi has an album with the music you want feel free to buy it. Old stuff is a crap shoot, or just very expensive. Funny how that applies to many things in this hobby.

❏ STREAMING MEDIA ❏ Streaming media is multimedia that is constantly received by and presented to an end-user while being delivered by a provider. The verb to stream refers to the process of delivering or obtaining media in this manner.[clarification needed] Streaming refers to the delivery method of the medium, rather than the medium itself. Distinguishing delivery method from the media distributed applies specifically to telecommunications networks, as most of the delivery systems are either inherently streaming (e.g. radio, television, streaming apps) or inherently non-streaming (e.g. books, video cassettes, audio CDs). There are challenges with streaming content on the Internet. For example, users whose Internet connection lacks sufficient bandwidth may experience stops, lags, or slow buffering of the content. And users lacking compatible hardware or software systems may be unable to stream certain content. Live streaming is the delivery of Internet content in real-time much as live television broadcasts content over the airwaves via a television signal. Live internet streaming requires a form of source media (e.g. a video camera, an audio interface, screen capture software), an encoder to digitize the content, a media publisher, and a content delivery network to distribute and deliver the content. Live streaming does not need to be recorded at the origination point, although it frequently is. Streaming is an alternative to file downloading, a process in which the end-user obtains the entire file for the content before watching or listening to it. Through streaming, an end-user can use their media player to start playing digital video or digital audio content before the entire file has been transmitted. The term “streaming media” can apply to media other than video and audio, such as live closed captioning, ticker tape, and real-time text, which are all considered “streaming text”.

❏ COPYRIGHT CONTENT ❏ Copyright is a type of intellectual property that gives its owner the exclusive right to make copies of a creative work, usually for a limited time.[1][2][3][4][5] The creative work may be in a literary, artistic, educational, or musical form. Copyright is intended to protect the original expression of an idea in the form of a creative work, but not the idea itself.[6][7][8] A copyright is subject to limitations based on public interest considerations, such as the fair use doctrine in the United States.
