Mover from ‘Zarkana’ (2023)

Huevember turned into Huecember this year... Started this project in November, fell off for several weeks with no motivation, then picked it up again in December and powered through to finish it off.
I'm so glad I did, because look at the results! So many characters I'd never drawn before and they all turned out super well.
See the individual character pieces under the cut:

A drawing of Luzia’s work outfit from my story. Workers need to keep as little skin as possible exposed when working in the cursed forest for fear that breathing in the air or touching anything will forever alter your body like the fae-touched. They are given full body suits, gloves, and masks that are believed to filter out the bad air completely.
I will get to it with a different post, but these masks are usually painted by workers so that they can tell each other apart.
While Luzia was exposed to this magic in the womb and it already changed her, there’s no telling if it could get worse with more exposure.
Her job is to travel with the expedition team that wishes to reach the heart of the forest because she can see the hidden dangers that they can’t. While most of the team is on edge, she finds the place and its odd and colorful nature beautiful in the peaceful moments.
While no one has seen the fae folk in over a thousand years, there’s still superstition that they’re walking invisibly among people, like the forest’s fae beasts can. Workers have taken to always wearing a piece of iron on themselves to ward off these malicious spirits. Luzia’s mother gave her a necklace made of twine and an old nail pried from their apartment floorboards because while her daughter isn’t a changeling like the town believes, that doesn’t mean the fae won’t mistaken her for one and try to take her back.
(Note: I swear I drew this with my own hand. She’s not A.I. art. Her left arm is supposed to look like that, and the left leg is off because I’m a shit artist)

Resenha: "Mãe Liberté" de Simone Maryam
Resenha do livro "Mãe Liberté" da escritora Simone Maryam. Livro mostra a luta contra a escravidão no século XIX.
