HIIIII ♥️ completely out of nowhere; do u have one piece oc's?? Just curious, bc since I started reading drabbles, fics, and one-shots from one-piece I thought about 374737 different characters :)) and it's so fun to think about them
Hi Anon! I have a long and short answer for this.
I do have a few OCs that I love working with, but I tend to keep them private so I can include "you" in the story.
Writing in 3rd person these days doesn't come as naturally for me, but I have written for my OCs just for me. I love talking about them, my favourite is "Varagnr Tallulah". She's the first OC I developed for one piece, and her end-game love interest is Dracule Mihawk.
This is the vibe:
I have thought a lot about her, and have written about her. While I love her and would love to show her on here, I keep her for just me and my moot-wife @sordidmusings who has an OC in the same world (who was also the one to suggest talking OCs and character development).
Tropes: arranged marriage, forbidden love, forbidden kiss, mutual pining, unrequited love, friends to enemies to lovers, widowship, magic, major injury, violence, angst, hurt no comfort, one night stands without love but with respect (Crocodile, Beckman), nobleship, travelling, sailing, wars, riots.
Below the cut is my brain on paper regarding her build. I do the same for reader-inserts to get into their heads before fic writing. This is also what I do to develop D&D characters. Sorry in advance for the long response!
History:
From before her conception, her life was meticulously planned to the finest of details. She was bred to serve; her purpose was to be the wife of a wealthy lord in a far off land. Chastised for poor posture, attuned in the art of conversation, well-versed in the running of fine land and their staff to come along with it as the lady of the house, and educated in all to do with her future spouse: the lord.
Her spouse, taken immediately by her appearance, romanced her through a hasty courtship; wed her and bedded her. He was boisterous, enthusiastic, passionate - but never truly held her heart as her own passion was taken from her in her youth.
Her only joys in life were:
Sword-Fighting: a fine craft of blade wielding where, when done correctly, looked as though the wielder effortlessly danced in the thralls of combat - amongst the spatter and carnage of blood and innards (Mihawk trainer).
Drinking wine and learning of the different produce crafted within the east, west, north and south blues - the grand line Tokaji variety from Kuraigana being her favorite.
Her enchantress, confidant and friend: Pythia (Sordid's OC). Having someone to truly be an ear, a shoulder and an embrace through the inner struggle of balancing the weight of regality while being the same for their own woes.
Hearing tales of her husband’s associates while providing them her presence at the dining table, dancing with them in lieu of her spouse when required. (Sir Crocodile).
As their relationship developed, she was left as naught but a shell of a person; free from drive to become anything other than a forlorn bedmate for this man - a man who truly didn’t care for her mind nor her own satisfaction in release within aforementioned bedroom activity. He never doted on her, only opting to dress her in fineries of silks and satins to showcase her to his acquaintances and colleagues
Left in a wealthy estate, a life of luxury with nothing now to hold her back from her own pursuit: what passions can she manage to find within the husk of a body too young to be widowed while in the prime of her life.
She was the perfect partner, the pretty plaything and quick-witted when words were called for. The perfect bride.
Until her husband died, fighting in some silly war some Red-Haired Captain called him to take up his arms for.
Name: Tallulah “Lulu/Tally/Tal”
Background: Nobility from birth, sword-wielder, wine consumer, quick-witted. Regality, poised and fiery in her crafted words.
Alignment: Neutral Good: Understanding the law, tendencies to sway ‘balance’ rather than good and evil. Knowing the law, understanding which ones can and should be adhered to and others were made to be challenged.
Appearance: Long copper hair, loose curls, pale skin, teal eyes, soft femininity with a semi-built body to hold the weight of her claymore and dance with it effortlessly.
Goals: longs for romance. Strong desire to be courted; wooed properly without the ending of flirtation being meticulously laid out by design.
Ideals: to find her limits, test them and break them. Fiercely loyal to friends and companions, regardless of whether they’re healthy relationships or not.
Flaws: will put herself within harm’s way and talk her way out of situations with her trained wit. Where her wit fails, her claymore will be showered in the blood of those that oppose her. Bleeding heart: hard to fall in love, but falls hard when she does.
Many rumors had been spoken regarding the death of her husband, prompting her to be excluded from many gatherings and ostracized from the inner circles of the ruling class. Snickering from the sidelines with a glass of bitter, dry wine in her hand is how she spends her time - always finding cheer and rapport with Pythia who often takes the snickering and comments to another level entirely.
Very, truly, deeply mourning the loss of her autonomy - has no identity without her departed-husband. Bore him no children, but remained the ruler of the estate as none rose to contest the land form her ruling hand.
Proficiencies: Skilled with a blade, but slow to draw it. Will not fight unless truly necessary - learnt feat from the demise of her spouse. Strong liver; can handle her alcohol.
Suggested background character relationship origin:
Dracule Mihawk Origin: Youthful dalliance, both understanding nothing could truly come of feeding the flames of their romantic entanglement. Broke off training with one another when Mihawk kissed her in the “talking window” while training.
Talking window: where blades cross the front of the torso, only faces revealed in the triangular blade connection.
Mihawk was the one to break off the training, opting to not put each other in a more compromising situation
Dialogue Suggestions:
“You’re getting better.”
“I’m not,” pushing forward to trip Mihawk, “you’re just getting sloppy.”
“Sloppy?” leg trip of his own to fall her down on her ass, “you’re getting bolder, too, Lulu.”
“Did you manage to bring the…-” Tallulah’s eyes brighten and look down to the satchel hanging loosely from Mihawk’s shoulder.
“Yes,” he rolled his eyes, “it’s from last year’s vintage. Not as good as the other ones I’ve made-.”
“You made this one?” a gasp falling from her lips, “Mihawk, that’s so special!”
“I make all of the ones I bring you, Lulu,” he uttered in an utterance above a whisper, while reaching his slender fingers within the satchel to pull out the clear, glass bottle of amber Tokaji, “you’ll need it as a balm for the beating you’re about to endure by my hand.”
“We shall see, Hawk,” a sly smirk rising in the place of the warmth she once held atop her cheeks, “maybe you’ll need it yourself to drown in your own defeat.”
Sir Crocodile Origin: Met at Tallulah’s wedding, a beautiful and powerful man sweeping her to the side of the room and warning them of their shared history with her now spouse. Danger, selfishness, quick to bare arms when war is called.
Is often invited to talk business, attend parties and nights of gambling hosted by her spouse and will offer whispered tales of adventures, to often have Tallulah longing to seek out her own with glazed eyes and lips parted in awe.
Suggested Dialogue:
“When he leaves you wanting, find me.”
“Wanting what?”
“You’ll know.”
“Do not mistake your prior welcome with my dear husband as what you’re met with in his stead.”
“Dearly departed husband, you mean.”
“It makes no such difference to my inhospitality-.”
“-It makes all the difference, Tally,” he steps his body closer within the frame of the large double doors, “it means you’re free to explore exactly what you’ve been missing all these years.”
Varangr Fraener
Spouse Name: Lord Varangr[family name] Fraener
Characteristics: Very charming when the mood calls for it, a flirt. Egotistical, arrogant and self-centric.
Flaws: Did not want to be married, nor to be tied down to a single woman. Although pleased Tallulah is pretty and enjoys showing her off, he truly does not care for her and chooses to occupy his time by gambling away his wealth with his associates.
Fatal Flaw: Owes a single favor to Red-Haired Shanks - a favor that claims his life.
Dynamic between Tallulah and Fraener: He is more taken with the idea that a woman has been designed and curated to suit his tastes, rather than appreciating Tallulah for the woman she truly is. Although Tallulah never strayed in her marriage, she has a fair few accounts to manage on behalf of Fraener to tend to his gaggle of trysts and keep his unnamed children at bay.
Tallulah is initially infatuated by him, as she was trained to be all her life. As the days, weeks and years flow on, the illusion is shattered and she feels more alone and isolated than ever: the newness of her dies away, Fraener continues to seek out other company and leaves her to her own hobbies: swords and wine without her “Hawk” to lead her.
He rarely seeks out her company, only sharing a small farewell kiss as he sails at the call to arms - the last kiss ever to be shared between them.
Notes: if you're interested in seeing some more of her, I would love to post the stories I've carved out with Sordid. You should ask about her OC. I love Pythia, and the world building and lore she put into her is spectacular.
Thank you for asking, and I'm sorry for the dodgy jotted response! Love you 🖤

Across the Jewish Diaspora, rice pudding is a staple comfort food. Food historians debate whether it originated in India or Ancient China, but we do know that rice pudding has been prepared for thousands of years. Wherever there was rice and sugar, there was rice pudding. In 15th century Europe, rice was imported from Asia along the Silk Road. It was a luxury ingredient, and rice puddings were prepared strictly for royalty. But by the 18th century, rice became more ubiquitous and less expensive, and rice pudding became a more common dish around the world.
Rice pudding may differ by country and region but typically consists of some form of rice, milk and sugar. In Indian Jewish kitchens, you’ll find kheer (or payasam), a rice pudding made with basmati rice and milk or coconut milk, that is flavored with cardamom or other spices. In many Ashkenazi kitchens, rice pudding took on the form of rice kugel and was cooked in a frying pan. In former Soviet countries, rice pudding is called molochna risova kasha and is simply prepared with rice, milk and sugar. In Turkish and Sephardic kitchens there’s sütlaҫ, a rice pudding made with rice flour that is served at weddings, after Yom Kippur, and on Shavuot and Shabbat mornings. In North Africa, Israel and throughout the Middle East, you’ll find malabi (AKA mhalbiya/muhallebi). Believed to be derived from sütlaҫ, it is a pudding made with ground rice or rice flour that is flavored with rose, orange or geranium water. Portuguese-speaking countries call their rice pudding arroz doce, and in Spanish-speaking communities, you’ll find arroz con leche flavored with cinnamon or anise. Persian Jews have sholeh zard,a golden saffron-infused rice pudding made with rice or rice flour, that is aromatically flavored with rose water, cardamom, and other spices. Here in the U.S., you’ll typically find rice pudding made with milk, sugar and studded with raisins.
This recipe for rice pudding is rich, silky and deeply vanilla flavored. I recommend using good quality Arborio or short-grain rice, as it offers a firmer and creamier texture in the pudding; but you can substitute Arborio for long-grain rice as well. Whole milk and a little half & half make this pudding decadent and silky, but you can substitute whole milk for reduced-fat milk for a lighter and slightly less creamy pudding. For a non-dairy version, substitute the milk with full-fat canned coconut milk, and the rice pudding will be just as creamy, but with added coconut flavor. Using a vanilla bean provides a special kind of decadence to this rice pudding; if you can’t get your hands on a whole bean, you can use vanilla paste or extract in its place. You can keep your pudding plain or add raisins or toppings. I like mine with citrus for a hit of acidity and brightness; and I drizzle date syrup on top just before serving, for an extra molasses-like hit of sweetness. Rice pudding can be served warm or chilled. However you like to eat or serve this pudding, it’s addictively comforting.

30th May 1889 saw the birth near Kirkliston of Isobel Wylie Hutchison.
Another of those strong willed Scottish women, Isobel overcame the constraints that the age, her class, and her own personality placed upon her, to become a solo adventurer in the far North, an accomplished plant collector and a successful poet and writer.
Carlowrie "Castle", a Scots baronial mansion near Kirkliston in West Lothian, was the comfortable upper-middle class home into which Isobel Wylie Hutchison was born in 1889. It was there her father, Thomas Hutchison, a successful wine merchant in Edinburgh, looked after his gardens, and passed on to Isobel his fascination for plants and his habit of meticulous note-taking. I put the commas round castle as, although it is known as a castle by it's name in the old sense of things, having only been built in the mid 19th century, to me a castle needs to have a lot more history than that, Isobels grandfather had it built from scratch, nowadays it is top wedding venue and voted one of the top three venues under 200 bedrooms in Europe.
Back to the lady in question, three deaths were to shatter Isobel’s youth. From 1900 she went to school in Edinburgh where she studied a curriculum suited for a young Victorian Lady. After her sister married a naval officer and saw very little of him for long periods Isobel decided that marriage would restrict her life.
Three deaths were to shatter Isobel’s youth. Her father died suddenly, shortly before her 11th birthday; and her two brothers when she was in her early twenties – one in a climbing accident in 1912, and the other during the First World War. The deaths however meant she has an independent lady of means, affording her the luxury of leading her own life without restrictions.
She travelled to the Arctic, filming the things she saw around her, the landscape and the wildflowers growing there and the daily lives of the indigenous people. Other travellers of the time who wrote of their discoveries did not dwell on the domestic detail that makes Hutchison's work unique. Her first exploration was to East Greenland in 1927, followed in 1928 by a year in Umanak, North Greenland. She filmed eskimos collecting ice for water and hunting seals from a kayak, the wild flowers of Umanak and the Governor's coffee party! Scottish whalers had taught reels and other dances to the locals, Hutchison filmed them a century later still dancing with enthusiasm.
In 1934 she set out for Alaska, travelling by coastal steamer from Vancouver to Skagway and then overland to Nome. Here she found a very small freighter to take her along the north coast of Alaska, ending with 120 miles by dog sledge and returning on mail plane to Alberta. Hutchison brought back samples of the plant life for the Royal Horticultural Society and the Natural History Museum. She had a long connection with the Royal Scottish Geographical Society as Honorary Editor of the magazine and as a fellow and Vice President.
She was awarded the Mungo Park Medal as a tribute to her explorations and in recognition of her original and valuable researches in Iceland, Greenland and Arctic Alaska. She wrote several travel books including 'North to the Rime-Ringed Sun' and 'Stepping Stones from Alaska to Asia' and four volumes of poetry.
In later life she gave frequent lectures, using films and lantern slides, describing her travels for film-making and writing articles for National Geographic' magazine. She died in 1982.
Of her poems I have chosen one I can resonate with, having spent my childhood on the doorstep of the Pentland Hills, south of Edinburgh:
LAMENT FOR THE PENTLAND MEN.
Oh early grey of morning-time! Oh Pentland Hills! The bracken white with frosty rime, The brown peat rills, Home of the wild-bird wet with dew, Heard ye the sunrise yearning For the eager beat of Pentland feet No more, no more, no more returning?
Up from the city’s clustered spires, Up from the glen, The thin sweet bugle-call inspires The Redford men. Home of the wild-bird wet with dew Heard ye the bugle yearning For the eager beat of Pentland feet No more, no more, no more returning?
From high Caerketton’s pebbly ridge, From Kips to Castlelaw, From Loganlee to Redford Bridge, From Dunsyre to Cobbinshaw, Braes where the sheep-dog watches lone Fling wild the echo, yearning For the eager beat of Pentland feet No more, no more, no more returning.
Oh fallen hearts of Pentland gold! Oh bleeding feet that roam The long grey silences that fold The Hills of Home! Hear ye no sobbing faint and far? The grey old Pentlands yearning For the wistful beat of children’s feet No more, no more, no more returning.

Relaxed day with a lazy start and then a few hours spent with my grandad at the Carehome, catching up with him and talking about football, life and the memories! A bit of a tangent but…
It was recently his and my grandmas wedding anniversary and he was reminiscing about their love and how much he misses her since she passed. Reminiscing about their lives, how They met in school in their little village on outskirts of Newcastle and he knew early on that she was going to be his wife one day! Through the years, trials and tribulations and distance their love lasted, even when my grandad was in the army stationed in London and my grandma back at her parents home in the North East. My grandad sacrificed opportunities in life for my grandma, turning down a chance to play for Fulham Football Club (they were good and big back then) because he knew my grandma didn’t want to live and raise a family in London. Instead settling on a life in the North East, raising a family, having a touring caravan they used for holidays away, exploring the beautiful English costal towns and countryside! They had plans and aspirations for when my grandad retired, they were to sell the house and go travelling full time with their caravan but alas it was never to be. Even when my grandma started with dementia the love was clear and my grandad never wavered with his love, care and attention. Even on those last few days we sat round her bed waiting for her to pass, I could tell he loved her like the first day he met her.
Hearing him reminisce and welling up with tears, it made me thing that’s the kind of love that inspires me to find my person, like they found each other! They were never rich with money or luxury items but they were rich in love and memories! When it’s all said and done, that’s what matters in life, finding someone to share a life with🩵. I'm thankful I can still hear his stories and it's something I'll cherish always.
(This post went off on a tangent, I was just going to share about my day but spending time with my grandad, hearing his stories and reminiscing is a beautiful thing and it evokes emotions within me I want to share. Thank you if you took the time to read this and I hope it inspires you to love that someone special in your life and make those memories count.)

Best Indian Destination Wedding Venues in Thailand
Thailand is one of the most spectacular and successful venues for your big fat Indian beach wedding. Thai beaches are among the best in the world and are immortalized in many Bollywood films. The perfect wedding destination can be found at luxurious resorts on white sand beaches or at luxury hotels.
Luxury resorts on white sand beaches or luxurious hotels make this the perfect wedding destination. Thailand has become a popular choice for Indian couples looking to have an International wedding thanks to its proximity to Kolkata and Chennai and its reasonable hotel rates. Thailand has hundreds of beautiful beach wedding venues that cater to Indian weddings with the Andaman Sea on the west and the Gulf of Thailand on the east. Krabi, Hua Hin, Phuket, Rayong, Pattaya, and Koh Samui are some popular destinations outside of Bangkok.
In recent years, Thailand hosts many Indian weddings, and today a destination wedding in Thailand can be made rather simple. Almost all wedding-worthy hotels in Thailand serve Indian food on request. While Thailand has better decor and flowers at the same scale, they are much cheaper than India. We'll help you get married in Thai paradise with the perfect wedding planner you hire!
Krabi
Ao Nang, Krabi is a popular wedding venue for Indian weddings in Thailand. It is the perfect backdrop for your wedding to be held on one of Krabi's small and wonderful islands with crystal clear water and limestone formations. Enjoy this almost private setting in the middle of the Andaman Ocean with your loved ones. Privately under the open sky, you cannot get closer to nature than this. Your big fat Indian wedding can also be held at Koh Lanta.
Phuket
Although Phuket is one of Thailand’s premier tourist destinations and the beaches of Patong, Kata, Karon, Nai Harn, and others are crowded with tourists soaking up the sun; there are still many calm and secluded beaches on Phuket that are ideal for a picturesque sundown Indian wedding.
Pattaya
At Pattaya, you can experience an unforgettable dream wedding on the beach. Enjoy a romantic sunset and the gentle lapping of waves on the white sand in this beautiful town 100 km away from Bangkok.
Bangkok
Bangkok, the capital city, welcomes more visitors than any other city in the world and it's easy to see why. From gleaming temples to bustling Chinatown and floating markets, Bangkok is an oriental paradise. Indian weddings in Bangkok are also a highlight because many hotels offer delicious Indian food. You can host your dream wedding in a luxurious five-star hotel, or at a boutique resort. You and your guests will experience the famous Thai hospitality.
Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is northern Thailand's largest and most culturally prominent city.
Hua Hin
Because of its picturesque, serene beaches and charming gardens, Hua Hin is a popular destination for Indian weddings.
Koh Samui
My favorite is Koh Samui, which is famous for its turquoise waters. Although it is more difficult to get there than other destinations (especially since there is a ferry), once you are on the island, it is well worth the effort.
Khao Lak
Khao Lak is a peaceful resort destination in Thailand, just north of Phuket Island, on the scenic Andaman Seaboard. Three national parks surround this stretch of coast, which is surrounded by hills that stretch for miles. Khao Lak is an oasis of relaxation that combines cool tropical forests with scenic beaches.

Islamic Abayas: A Traditional Garment of Modesty and Elegance
An abaya is a loose-fitting, full-length outer garment traditionally worn by Muslim women, particularly in countries across the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia. It is a symbol of modesty in line with Islamic principles, offering women a way to adhere to guidelines of dress while maintaining elegance and personal style.
Cultural and Regional Variations:
Saudi Arabia: In Saudi Arabia, the abaya is a standard part of women's attire, and it is often paired with a niqab or headscarf. Traditionally, it is black, but newer designs may include intricate embroidery, beadwork, or patterns.
United Arab Emirates: Women in the UAE wear abayas that are often more colorful and embellished with designs, including metallic threads, pearls, and other adornments.
https://www.mybatua.com/blogs/news/where-to-buy-abayas-and-hijabs-near-you-fashionable-options-for-every-woman
Modern Trends in Abaya Fashion
Embellishments and Luxury Fabrics: Embroidered and embellished abayas, using lace, sequins, or even Swarovski crystals, have become popular for formal occasions, weddings, or festivals.
Modest yet Trendy: In addition to abayas, many Muslim women also wear Maxi dresses, Jilbabs, or Kaftans—all designed to align with the principles of modest fashion but also showcase modern trends.
Why the Abaya?
For many Muslim women, the abaya is more than just a garment; it’s a statement of religious identity, cultural heritage, and personal values. Wearing an abaya is a way for women to express their commitment to modesty and to maintain their privacy in public.

Kaftan Dress for Women: A Blend of Comfort and Style
Fashion is all about merging comfort with style, and one garment that has stood the test of time in delivering both is the kaftan dress. Once known as traditional wear, the kaftan has evolved over the years into a trendy and versatile piece loved by women worldwide. Whether you're heading to the beach, attending a formal event, or just relaxing at home, the kaftan dress provides the perfect mix of ease, elegance, and flair.
In this article, we will dive deep into the history of the kaftan dress for women, its unique features, styling tips, and why every woman should own one in her wardrobe.
What is a Kaftan Dress?
A kaftan is a long, flowing garment that is usually loose-fitting and features wide sleeves. Originating in ancient Mesopotamia, the kaftan was traditionally worn by men and women in Middle Eastern and African cultures. Over time, the garment made its way into Western fashion and became synonymous with luxury and casual chic.
Today's kaftan dresses come in a wide range of materials, colors, and designs, making them a versatile option for various occasions. Whether made from light cotton, luxurious silk, or adorned with embellishments, the kaftan offers a unique combination of fashion and comfort.
History of the Kaftan Dress
The kaftan has a rich cultural history that spans centuries. Originally, it was worn as a symbol of royalty and power in the Ottoman Empire and other parts of the Middle East and North Africa. Its regal appearance, often decorated with intricate embroidery, gold thread, and jewel-like embellishments, made it a preferred garment for rulers and nobility.
In the 1960s and 1970s, the kaftan gained international recognition as it became a favorite among fashion designers and celebrities, including the likes of Yves Saint Laurent and Elizabeth Taylor. Since then, the kaftan dress has become a global fashion staple, loved for its breezy, relaxed silhouette.
Why Choose a Kaftan Dress?
1. Comfort Above All ElseOne of the main reasons women love kaftans is the sheer comfort they offer. The loose-fitting design makes it ideal for warm weather, lounging at home, or even for maternity wear. The breathable fabrics used, such as cotton, silk, and chiffon, ensure that you remain cool and comfortable, regardless of the season.
2. VersatilityKaftan dresses can be worn for a wide variety of occasions. Whether you’re attending a beach wedding, lounging by the pool, or going to a summer party, a kaftan can easily fit the bill. Its ability to transition from casual to elegant makes it a wardrobe essential.
3. Flattering for All Body TypesThanks to its flowing design, the kaftan dress is incredibly forgiving and suits all body shapes and sizes. It drapes beautifully, providing an effortlessly chic look without clinging to the body. For women who want to feel comfortable and confident without sacrificing style, the kaftan is an excellent choice.
4. Easy to StyleKaftan dresses are a breeze to accessorize. Pair them with statement jewelry, sandals, or even a belt to define your waist and elevate your look. Depending on the fabric and print, a kaftan can look casual or glamorous with just a few styling tweaks.
Types of Kaftan Dresses for Women
1. Casual KaftansCasual kaftans are often made from light, breathable fabrics like cotton or linen, perfect for beach vacations or everyday wear. These kaftans typically feature simple patterns and are ideal for keeping cool in warm weather. Throw on a casual kaftan over your swimsuit for an effortlessly chic beach cover-up.
2. Formal KaftansFormal kaftans are often made from more luxurious fabrics like silk, satin, or chiffon and can include embellishments such as sequins, embroidery, or beadwork. These kaftans are perfect for weddings, parties, or other formal occasions where you want to make a stylish yet comfortable statement.
3. Embellished KaftansFor a more glamorous look, embellished kaftans feature intricate embroidery, sequins, or beadwork. These designs often draw inspiration from traditional Middle Eastern garments, making them perfect for formal events or festive occasions.
4. Maxi KaftansMaxi kaftans offer a full-length design that flows all the way to the ankles. They provide a stunning, elongated silhouette that is both elegant and comfortable. Maxi kaftans are perfect for evening events and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
5. Printed KaftansPrinted kaftans come in a variety of vibrant patterns, from floral to geometric. These bold designs are perfect for making a statement and are a great choice for daytime outings or casual gatherings.

Wedding Photography and Videography Service in Northumberland, North East England
We have provided wedding photography and videography services for a pleasant couple in the North East England.
http://www.foreverlovewedding.com/
Their wedding ceremony was held in an impressive historical church, St. Maurice Ellingham and their wedding banquet was held at a luxury wedding venue, Ellingham Hall, Northumberland.
This sweet couple's wedding day was actually held all at one place in Ellingham Hall, with all the wedding setups being western-styled. We first started the bridal and groom getting ready shoots right after the church ceremony started, which took place very close to the venue.
After that, we returned to the venue and finished our photo and video shoots very professionally and smoothly. Their wedding took all day, around 12 hours. It was a tiring day for us, but we also had a great time during our shoots with this friendly couple and all their guests.
We wish them a wonderful everlasting married life!

The Evolution of Kaftans: From Traditional to Contemporary Fashion
Kaftans have a storied history, evolving from a traditional garment to a contemporary fashion staple. Known for their versatility and elegance, kaftans for women have journeyed through centuries, adapting to changing styles and cultural influences. This blog explores the evolution of kaftans, highlighting their transformation from ancient roots to modern-day fashion statements.
Historical Roots The kaftan’s origins trace back to the ancient Mesopotamian civilizations, where it was worn by both men and women. In these early days, kaftans were characterized by their loose, flowing design, typically crafted from luxurious fabrics like silk and velvet. These garments were often adorned with intricate embroidery and embellishments, signifying the wearer’s status and wealth.
As time progressed, the kaftan became a staple in various cultures across the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia. In these regions, it evolved into a symbol of cultural identity and traditional craftsmanship. For instance, in Morocco, the kaftan became associated with formal occasions, such as weddings and religious ceremonies. Here, it was often embellished with elaborate beadwork and stitching, reflecting the region’s rich artistic heritage.
The Introduction of Kaftans to the West The kaftan began to capture the attention of Western fashion designers in the early 20th century. Influenced by the exotic allure of Middle Eastern and North African styles, Western designers started incorporating kaftan elements into their collections. This era marked the beginning of the kaftan’s journey into mainstream fashion.
In the 1960s and 1970s, the kaftan gained popularity in the Western world, thanks in part to the burgeoning interest in global cultures and exotic aesthetics. Designers like Yves Saint Laurent and Emilio Pucci embraced the kaftan, reinterpreting it with modern fabrics, bold prints, and innovative silhouettes. This period was marked by a blend of traditional elements with contemporary flair, making the kaftan a symbol of bohemian chic and sophisticated elegance.
The Kaftan’s Modern Revival In recent decades, the kaftan has undergone a significant transformation, adapting to the ever-changing landscape of fashion. Today’s kaftans for women blend traditional influences with modern design sensibilities, resulting in a diverse array of styles that cater to various tastes and occasions.
One of the notable trends in contemporary kaftans is their use in casual and resort wear. Modern kaftans are often crafted from lightweight, breathable fabrics such as cotton, linen, and chiffon, making them ideal for relaxed, sunny days. They are also designed with practical features like adjustable ties, pockets, and versatile cuts, ensuring comfort and functionality without compromising on style.
Additionally, contemporary designers have reimagined the kaftan for a broader audience, incorporating diverse prints, colors, and embellishments. From vibrant geometric patterns to elegant monochrome designs, kaftans are available in a wide range of styles that appeal to various fashion preferences. This versatility allows women to wear kaftans for a variety of occasions, from casual outings to formal events.
The Kaftan in Today’s Fashion Scene The modern kaftan continues to be a favorite among fashion-forward women, thanks to its ability to combine comfort with high style. It has become a popular choice for everything from beach vacations and poolside lounging to evening events and holiday celebrations. Many designers now offer kaftans that feature intricate detailing such as beadwork, embroidery, and embellishments, adding a touch of glamour and sophistication to the traditional garment.
In addition to its aesthetic appeal, the kaftan has become a symbol of body positivity and inclusivity. Its loose, flowing design makes it a flattering choice for women of all shapes and sizes. Many contemporary brands emphasize this aspect of the kaftan, promoting it as a versatile garment that celebrates diverse body types and personal styles.
Conclusion The kaftan’s journey from ancient Mesopotamia to contemporary fashion underscores its enduring appeal and adaptability. As a garment that bridges cultures and eras, the kaftan for women has evolved from a symbol of luxury and status to a versatile and stylish staple in modern wardrobes. Whether adorned with traditional embroidery or reimagined with contemporary design elements, the kaftan remains a testament to the rich history and ongoing evolution of fashion. Its ability to seamlessly blend tradition with modernity ensures that the kaftan will continue to captivate and inspire fashion enthusiasts around the world for years to come.
