@sonoilbastardo →🍸🍹 a moodboard and a short fanfic of our muses.
The first time Juliana meets Easton is at dusk along a river bank, the one that runs right through the center of town and divides it into two lands. On one side rests the wolves, with their blood-soaked fur and their golden eyes, with solitude in their bones even if they run in packs. They deal in gore and glory and call themselves the protectors of the human race, spilling vampire’s blood where it needs to be spilled. On the other side of the riverbank lies the witches territory, where they howl incantations at the moon and spin herbs into healing remedies.
Easton is eighteen, a soldier in every form of the word, but a defiant and reckless one who loves to find loopholes in everything that he does. There’s a tension between his shoulders that his people love to whisper about, speak tall tales about how his father didn’t marry his mother, about how the woman who raised him had taken him in against her better judgement and he had spent his entire life since spitting in her face. About how he bared his teeth at every opportunity, spent his nights sharpening his canines.
Yes, people loved to talk, but not as much as they liked to talk about the princess across the river, the one who liked to cross the line, the one with as many werewolf friends as she had witch friends, who the elders could never catch save for the stories that she left behind.
She’s fourteen the first time he meets her, drinking from the very river that divides them.
He knows who she is immediately--most people would. She’s got her trademarks, a mad dark forest of matted curls and a smattering of freckles that can be seen even in the moonlight, and anyone would recognize them. She’s got a collection of moss piled up at her side, and when she cups her palms and drinks from them, he can’t help but cross the divide with his words.
“You’re walking a fine line there, principessa,” he says, and she should be startled but she stays calm, continues to drink from her palms, using the back of her hand to wipe the excess droplets away when she’s done.
“That’s what everyone tells me,” she responds, finally peering into the darkness to try and see her new companion. “You’ll have to get some new material if you want to scare me.”
“Do you want me to scare you?” he replies, quick.
“That’s what you’re supposed to want to do.”
She sees a smile ghost across his face, narrows her eyes at it.
“I’ve never much been one for doing what I’m supposed to.”
She doesn’t see him again until five years later.
The terms of the treaty are fairly straightforward, but they make Juliana’s heart sing all the same. The wolves and the witches are to be allies; they’re to overcome centuries worth of pride and prejudice and become whole, become equals.
When Easton sees her again, her face is equally as youthful despite the years that have past, equally as joyful. He knows that her mother died the year before and she was put formally in charge of the coven, that she is technically their reigning supreme, but the advisors that surround her on the river bank tell him that maybe she wasn’t ready for it, that maybe the responsibility of leading her people came to early, too suddenly. She looks so small surrounded by all of them, but there’s a set to her shoulders that would make anyone think twice about questioning her authority.
It’s supposed to be symbolic, this moment where each of the groups leaders have gathered at the river bank and will cross it together, will feel the river’s mud beneath their bare feet and shiver at the water’s chill as one.
“Principessa,” he whispers when she is just passing by his right shoulder.
“Supreme,” she replies steadily, without stopping.
She pretends her heart isn’t fluttering in her chest when she steps away from him, when she moves past him and pretends that she hasn’t heard all of the stories about the bastard lupo across the river, about the boy with blood on his hands and cruelty in his heart. She pretends that she doesn’t dream about blue eyes colored silver in the moonlight, about a life of doing what she wasn’t supposed to.
The two clans become allies to battle a single force, the vampire’s--who had managed to put aside their notorious cold anger to unite and create a single army of killers--were coming nearer, moving quickly through the mountains to the North and coming further and further South. They could have stood against them individually and all been slaughtered, or they could come together and fight them as one.
Juliana learns quickly that the rumors about Easton are true, that it’s a good thing his fur is colored copper because anything else would show the blood too easily, and his is dripping with it.
She learns quickly that she almost doesn’t care.
The river becomes their secret hiding place, the spot on the embankment where they first stumbled upon each other becoming this place only for them, where he will teach her hand to hand combat techniques in case someone manages to get her in a place where her magic will fail her, and she talks to him about the cycles of the moon and how each of them will affect him, explains why the change hurts more during a new moon than a full, and why his anger shifts so with the phases. They read each other poetry from another age and whisper it in each other’s ears while the fuck under the stars, with dirt in their hair and the earth in their lungs and fire in their veins.
Curled together on the moss, she teaches him about which mushrooms will kill and which will heal, and which will simply taste good in the pasta dishes she loves to cook for him. Time there passes more slowly, more privately. When they sit on the riverbank, he isn’t her soldier and she isn’t his Supreme, they are just another pair of lovers with stars in their eyes and wild in their hearts.
He stands at her side when the enemy comes, just behind the shoulder of his alpha, ready to jump in and protect her the moment she needs him.
Together they fight, and together they kill.
Neither of them come out of it the same.
The vampires are dead and gone, but so is Juliana, so is the youthful girl with moonlight in her cheeks bones and light magic at her fingertips.
All that’s left is the dark.

Alusport

“How’s the arm?”
Just a fan art of Karelia Hall’s “180 Files: The Aegis Project” using my 180 Agent Lupo Easton.
Awesome text based story if your into secret organizations and the dangers most spygames entail, lol.
If you’ve played it, hopefully context of the picture shows well *wink wink. Otherwise, just wanted to test out my lighting work as well; not sure if I’m getting better or just plain plateauing.
