So long as you don't roll it much bigger than a jumbo hotdog, it should be fine. If you want it to cook evenly, just fry them at medium or low heat until you get a nice golden brown. Maybe a minute at high if you wanna be safe, though that might burn the wrap.
@stuffednugswithwings yea!! Idk why my inbox is weird but the email went thru lol...
but yea i wasnt sure whether to pre cook it or not since i got two different answers does it matter if youre doing ground pork... ?🤔🤔

anyway, woe!!! El Filibusterismo AU where Maria Clara takes the role of Simoun be upon you!
"And as for your ears not bleeding since San Francisco, well, if you are so tired of our people, write to your government and tell them to throw San Francisco into the sea, and after that, throw yourself into the sea before you break out in hives for being aboard an Acapulco!”
“Bravo! Bravo!” Came the cries of the students.
“Good for Sandoval! Long live the gauntlet!”
“Viva España! Viva Mexico! Viva Filipinas!”
“Viva el lumpiang shanghai!” Shouted one imbecile.
Thirteen years after the death of Crisostomo Ibarra, Maria Clara returns as the fabulously wealthy jeweler and vaudeville performer, Ada Discher. Together with Elias, she sows the seeds for an uprising against Spain through her influence on the Governor General and her social clout in Manila's upper echelons. Ada's plans bring together women throughout the fledgling nation, from the humble Juliana to the haughty Paulita Gomez. But will Ada's vision for a free and happy country come to fruition? Or will her identity be discovered before she can realize Ibarra's dreams?
Perhaps as important as these, can Ada forgive herself for her growing affection for Elias?

Jason Todd x Filipino! reader headcanons
A/n: i don’t care if this will be my most flopped post, I had to do God’s work
He would LOVE Filipino food
Jason is pretty open with food considering he has traveled frequently for work.
Being accustomed to seeing rice available even if it’s high in carbs lol. Started as a pancit (stir fried noodles) boy to a BIG garlic rice boy ever since you’ve introduced him to it.
Could see him really liking champorado (chocolate rice porridge) for some reason, since there is something so homey about it. Plus it’s not that sweet. He definitely have tried it with tuyo (salted dried fish) when you mentioned it but prefers it just the champorado alone.
Jason enjoys Jollibee most specifically the fried chicken, both of you have movie nights with a bucket on the coffee table with pineapple juice or alcohol. Would find Filipino spaghetti ‘meh’ cause it’s a bit too sweet for his liking but he wouldn’t mind it after a few more tries since there’s that child-like taste that makes it addicting.
Would 100% love lumpiang shanghai (Filipino spring rolls) and quotes as he explains it to Roy or any of his brothers ‘a way better version of Chinese spring rolls’, just like how you told him. He stops craving for the usual spring rolls if you guys go for Chinese take outs from then on.
Despite what the media depicts of having adobo (soy sauce & vinegar chicken stew), sinigang (tamarind stew) or ube hyped. He does think Filipino food is still very underrated compared to Thai, Chinese, Japanese etc.
Could also see him enjoying clear soup stews like pork sinigang & bulalo (clear soup with beef shanks & bone marrow) because of the homey taste versus the flavored stews but he definitely still enjoys them (also see him being a big kare- kare (peanut butter stew) lover by your influence.
Like every other man, he would be a sucker for San Miguel beer. He knew about it even before both of you were dating since there is a small Filipino town in Gotham. Considering he goes to different bars from time to time. He would enjoy the concept of food on sizzling plate but it would take time for him to actually try exotic street food specially Balut (duck embryo) lol. But he’s down for it!
Spicy White Boy
Canon- wise, he knows Portuguese and there are lots of similar words with Spanish. Which I’m sure he knows maybe the most basic and common sense ones; so Jason understanding a good amount of Tagalog shouldn’t be surprising but would baffle you when you find out he started learning bit by bit for you.
It is very impressive indeed, there are not a lot of good resources in studying it. However, Jason is a Wayne and if his father was able to learn Kryptonian. He would easily be in a level of fluency by time.
And being the intelligent simp he is. He would understand it in a good level in less than a year or two when both of you are pretty much ‘all in’ in the relationship. Especially when you brought up one time before you were both exclusive, that you were scared of the idea of your partner being left out in family events even if English is pretty much the second main language in the Philippines.
Though I feel he would have more confidence in trying to speak the language after a few more years including a few slangs cause he doesn’t want to handle the anxiety of being roasted by your family & friends even if he obviously has thick-ass skin.
You keep telling him that he has already won his parents approval (too fast) when he swoon them with just the use of ‘po’ and ‘opo’ the first time meeting them. Plus the very occasional whispers of ‘gwapo’ , handsome, or ‘matangkad’, tall, here and there would give him a mix of a sheepish ego boost.
Culture Differences
THE ‘NO SHOES IN THE HOUSE’ RULE is a mutual practice that both of you have no problem doing. It has always been a routine for Jason when he gets home and right away he would wash up just so he could be in bed with you.
The no shoes rule seems to be only followed by Alfred when he drops by with groceries for him in his apartment. It bewilders his siblings when he makes a big deal out of it even if they are just dropping by (uninvited as usual) but also more like so you wouldn’t get triggered if you get to meet them but frankly it triggers Jason more since he’s quite neat as a roomie (plus future hubby points too.)
THE FAMILY CULTURE in a Filipino household is usually a mix of chaos and laughter which Jason is quite familiar with but with your family he could tell how close all of you are from all the frequent get together celebrations or holiday trips.
But also he was told a few times from some neighborhood titos (uncle) when he was still in the streets that the number 1 rule when dating a pinoy (shortened term for Filipino) is if you’re ‘dating a Filipino you’re also dating their whole family.’ You even tell him when you show pictures of your immediate relatives and family, that it’s basically a whole village if you include your extended relatives which shocks him even more. You don’t even know who are all your aunts or uncles names nor your second cousins.
You gave him a heads up and number of pointers to Jason when you were both talking about your families plus the never ending group pictures and selfies that awaits. You get worried if he would be overwhelmed even if he tells you, “Doll, don’t worry you literally met mine” “It’s not the same.” With a kiss on your forehead and the cute pout he loves still present.
He immediately gets interrogated and compliments which takes him a back getting him a bit shy. Would vibe with your cousins and would be forced to sing. The karaoke machine playing till midnight, the never ending food being offered in his plate but also your baby cousins getting attached to him which you greatly adore. He would purposely annoy you with flirty gestures in front of your cousins just for you to swat his arm or his biceps multiple times getting a reaction from your comments mixed of ‘yiee’ or ‘landi!’(flirt).
SOUVENIRS in Filipino is pasalubong, and it doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re materialistic it’s more of the thought when a person is away; may it be for family & friends.
Jason bringing home food or snacks when he goes out or something unique when coming from a long mission for you has been natural. You don’t expect him to always bring something home for you of course. Fortunately, Jason loves spoiling you and seeing you sulk when you rummage his duffle bag filled with used clothes and is helmet is too cute. Plus, this is definitely one of the first words he would understand besides the word ‘makulit’ (a neutral connotation of annoying, cheeky, and naughty combined.) and other cuss words.
The first time Jason brings you to the Wayne manor Alfred and Bruce immediately doesn’t see you as a threat especially with a bottle of wine or fruits as formalities. You panic a bit when both of you weren’t able to bring anything to the manor every time you go after that, he has to reassure you it’s fine. Though he appreciates and finds it adorable on how much his family becomes fond of you because of how genuine you are.
When you and Jason travel, you would be having an extra luggage for goodies and shopping and would get endless teasing from Jason. You would tease him back though if he needs something but you would also use his luggage as well if needed for everything you bought.

CHALLENGE: SOME RECIPES THAT MIGHT BE FOUND IN GOTHAM
CLASSIC GOTHAMITE DISHES FOR A BAT HERO LOOKING FOR HOME
If you want some obscure references: Buttermilk with breakfast (Recipe) Mulligatawny Soup The Animated Series "Vendetta" mentions French Onion Soup Steak (end of Kingdom Come) And of course, Cucumber Sandwiches (Classic vs My Fave)
Some stuff I imagine would be favorite things among Gothamites: Lobster Newburg Lumpiang Shanghai Yang Rou Chuan’r or Souvlaki Falafel Dogs (If you don't have boxed falafel mix, this recipe is good!) Arancini White Chicken Chili Beef Patties Chicken Divan with Curry
Or, since Newark NJ is literally Gotham City's inspo in this realm: Jersey Breakfast Dog Ultimate Breakfast Bagel (Best served on an Everything Bagel with Pork Roll) Manhattan Clam Chowder Egg Creams (Ubet syrup forever) And if 21+, Newark Coctail

₊‧.°.⋆ Blog Entry: THREE ₊‧.°.⋆
THE ODYSSEY OF
MANGO CRÊPE ๑༄ ‧₊˚
"Third time is a charm," they said, but this wasn't the case in this project. I'm curious about what kind of dessert I should make today, but one thing's for sure is that mango should be present since it's its season. As an indecisive person, I was torn between mango sticky rice and mango crepe, but the crepe won, obviously. I didn't make any fuss about it cause I believed that it was easy. I've made tons of crepe before, and I have this confidence and familiarity inside me. But who am I kidding? The last time I made this was 2 years ago.
I gathered up all the equipment and ingredients and started pouring the first candidate of mother of crepes. I scattered the butter all over the pan and ran the mixture in, and boy, I knew I had already messed up. I put way too much on the pan, and the consistency of the batter itself was too thick. The moment I was about to flip the ⋆⁺₊ crepe ₊⁺⋆ it kept sticking on the pan and in the spatula. Take note that I am using a nonstick pan in this.
Nevertheless, I always believed that "the first crepe is always the ugliest" to cheer myself up. I then switched pans; I replaced them with a pan with four circles divider. I said, "Maybe I should make mini crepes instead; it would be easier to flip." There again, my intuition failed me because the crepe that I was making had turned into some kind of horrible-looking pale omelet. My hopes were slowly crashing because after how many times I tried, it always resulted in the same until the doors of heaven sent me mercy. I JUST DID MY FIRST SUCCESSFUL PIECE OF CREPE ʚ(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )ɞBelow are the ingredients and the procedures:
It wasn't an easy journey; there were many trials, errors, and frustrations. I have realized these mistakes and learned lessons during the process.
1. On my first crepe, I put too much butter on the pan, considering that it is a nonstick pan, so the crepe suddenly learned to skate because the pan's surface was too slippery.
So, I got myself a paper towel to remove the excess butter from the pan. This is also helpful in applying the butter evenly without burning it.
2. The batter I made was too thick and dense to glide smoothly through the pan's surface.
So, I adjusted some measurements and ingredients to have a runny consistency. This resulted in a light mixture, leaving a smooth, thin crepe.
3. I am too excited to pour the mixture without realizing the pan needs to be hot enough.
So, I waited for the pan to be hot and left the crepe alone. Yes, the crepe has social anxiety and needs to have its own space for a while. Once I saw that the top surface had dried out, that was my queue to flip it.
4. I was so impatient that I wanted to flip the crepe too quickly, so it kept sticking in the spatula and turning into a hideous omelet.
So, I realized that the spatula was only the sidekick here because my fingers were the real heroes on this journey. It burns my pointer and thumb a little (A LOT), but it's the only way to flip it without ripping the crepe.
5. I poured too much of the mixture into the pan, which resulted a pancake, and I was already rethinking my life choices here.
So, I got a small ladle to scoop the batter, similar to half a cup. This made the perfect decent-looking and uniform crepe.
Crepe 。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆ˎˊ˗
Mix together the instant pancake mix (flour, egg, salt, and oil/butter) and the water (milk). Make sure that your batter is runny before pouring it into the pan. The pan should be on low heat to avoid having a burnt lumpiang shanghai wrapper. Filling 。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆ˎˊ˗ Whisk or whip together the cream and sweetener for the filling, and then you're done.
I almost quit making this and thought I should've created something less complex. But that's the point of being alive. Having to feel pain, sadness, and happiness. Sometimes we have to face hardships to get better. It will not be easy, the process might hurt, but you will eventually learn to endure and find ways to improve it because that's the pain of learning.

What We Ate So Far
so a tumblr friend kind of misses my food posts, so here I am posting what we ate at home. it's simple food for simple people, really. nothing fancy.
the pamangkins (all 10) are here and the food is served double the usual serving. much as we wanted to go out, the scorching heat and the increasing prices, make us stay home.
breakfast (served different days) we had longganisa and tapa. again, it looks a lot but if we are to compute the cost of eating out, mas nakatipid kami. besides, the pamangkins can get more servings, knowing these are growing kids who require more carbs and protein.
next, we had lumpiang shanghai served chao fan style, paired with vegetable salad mostly eaten by us (adults) who are now watching our cholesterol lol.
then for afternoon merienda, it lugaw. i know, the weather is deplorable already but then, soups/congee also rehydrates the body. we served as it is, with no eggs or tokwa't baboy as side dishes. bumawi naman kami kasi the lugaw had shredded chicken (leftovers from dinner the other day) and topped with lots of garlic!
the aim was to keep it simple, to be thankful for what we have, and to remember those who cannot eat or even complete 3 square meals a day. actually, it was the nephew who suggested that the money we save from not eating out or to buy things in excess, should be given to the poor.
yes dear friends, front lang yung kunwari nag diet kami pag friday. ang totoo nyan, we lessen our food on this day because we give the budget to a feeding program. besides, madami naman benefits yung konting sacrifice namin kasi for one we get to loose weight and at the same time, nagbabayad kami sa dami ng mga kasalanan namin - seryoso yan lol. i mean ako palang, sa dami ng kalandian ko, dapat ata buong week ibigay ko sa charity yung food allowance ko lol.

Clint talks about food n stuff: fast food? good fast food. or just fast food?
andoks here at my place is basically what fast food should be. food served quickly, is cheap and affordable, and lastly the quality is good enough for consumption. this entire meal is roughly: 193 pesos/ $3.3 comes with sponsored company drink which is pepsico which is mtn dew.
im not sure what jollibee is doing but.. this meal is entirely ₱310 pesos/$5.10 and i had to wait for this meal. it's a bit pricier. had a coupon for the free ice cream sundae tho just for context. this is just fried chicken and fries with a drink.
mang inasal is in the pricier than but it's actually filling side. ₱270 pesos/$4.6 for this platter comes with the unli rice thing also drink black gulaman which not in photo. i do love the free soup as well problem is you have to refill the bowls yourself and they're very hot. like McDonald's coffee scalding hot. which brings to the next fast food. this is the fiesta platter comes with grilled chicken, java rice, shrimp palabok, and lumpiang shanghai
McDonald's. i actually went crazy with the promos and the coupons here. ₱248/$4.27 for the entire thing got their chicken nugs with the promo chili sauce which i really liked ngl. been a while to eat chicken nugs without feeling as if eating leather.
Chowking tho makes me think something else. they do have some additionals i could get for my buck yet they're still in the Jollibee thing but portion sizes depend on location (or time or employee feeling) like eating here is like a Russian roulette whether you get everything you want or get less. ₱210/$3.6 for this entire meal. im still asking myself why thats still the case because the portion sizes and the amount of stuff you get on you is questionable
pizzados. kinda in the side of cheese pizza and meal. im not sure if i can recommend this the ₱310/$5.3 price for this entire meal is enticing. please eat it while it's hot. the pizzas they serve are just equal to eating cardboard or paper their chicken is harder than a hard tack and the only reason i even eat here is to make me think that it's better to eat at greenwich. which is the next.
greenwich bang for your buck pizzas? meal sets that are actually a bit expensive but worth the price? yeah that's it. ₱310/5.3 (because additional potato wedges it's actually ₱270/$4.6). i still feel sad whenever i remembered the had buko pandan shakes and crinkle fries which were my memorable stuff here. regardless of which it's still better fast food pizza
in conclusion...
eating fast food isnt even worth it. like holy shit the prices man. it's more than ₱100/$1.7 price ranges and you could get a lot of that food better somewhere else. im a bit of a glutton and ordering these amounts of food and getting charged that amount kinda sucks. mang inasal tho is S tier fast food. but regardless that's me talking about fast food.
#fast food#mcdonalds#fried chicken#kfc#jollibee#mang inasal#food#they stopped exactly at mine before they started their lunch break#pizza#soup#grilled chicken#fried rice#insert food#clint talking about food#im not sure what to tag here#im running out of ideas#i havent ate lunch and the line to the water bill aint moving#its fucking 12pm#WHAT THE FUCL#they stopped exactly at mine and closed for their lunch break

here's the link for the lumpiang shanghai recipe that we made for dinner ^^ we also added cheese in the mix for added umami flavor. no specific measurement, just add cheese to your heart's content.
tip: to make sure that the taste is to your liking, take a spoonful of the pork mix and pan fry it. adjust the taste by adding salt or more carrots. then proceed to rolling!! it's best served immediately after frying to retain its crunch.
enjoy making lumpia!! lemme know how it went when you get to cook it ^^
My dear dear Megumi, as much as I want to keep this recipe for myself, I kinda want to share it with others too...
It gave me the inspiration to create a little Tumblr Cookbook post.
And of course your recipes can't be missed.
Thinking of you.

Dear God,
Thankful and blessed today. I woke up at 9AM plus with the help of Papa. I drank my vitamins. I fried the lumpiang shanghai for our picnic’s meal. We had breakfast and I ate sushi, lumpiang shanghai. I prepared the ingredients for buko salad. I played cooking fever. I scrolled my social media accounts, chatted my family and friends. I prepared the things we will bring for our picnic at Limpapa river. We went to 36 to buy coconut meat and juice. We arrived at Limpapa river safely via our car. We ate marang, rice, lumpiang shanghai, buko salad, drank cali and Mama made kilawin. I ate pastil bihon dipped in a vinegar. We took a bath at the river and the water is good. I had a little accident because I slipped on rock and the current is so fast. Thank you Lord for saving me. I was very careful after. Mama also had a false alarm shouting ‘’Baha’’ because the color of the water is muddy. So we quickly went up and panicked to save our lives. We rested for a while and had our snacks. I took a bath again and took some pictures. The was a muddy color again at the river and so we back up and just watched the river flowing. I think there is a rain up in the mountain. We decided to go home. We went to Ecozone area because Jako wanted to play his bike. We had little chit chats with Mama. We ate at Talisayan area. We ate Pares, isaw and tempura for dinner. I drank cali and shared to Jako and Mama. We arrived home safely. I washed my private area. I had my self and skin care routine. I helped Jako do his laundry. While waiting to finish, I folded the dried clothes and put inside the cabinet. I also decluttered my clothes and fixed my cabinet. I also cleaned my room. I had chit chats with Jako. We ate chocolates bought at Harry Potter store. I read few pages of the Bible. I drank my medicines. I assisted Jako for he is experiencing stomach ache. I gave him haplas and medicine. Please help Jako heal his stomach ache Oh God. I watched random videos. Have mercy on us Oh God. Guide us always to the right path. Remove sickness, danger and negative things in our life. Answer our prayers in your perfect time. Thank you and I love you God.
