You ever just think about the tragedy of Lucien Tavelle and cry a little bit? He didn’t seek out the Somnovem intentionally; he found the book on accident and was more interested in the silly hat the original owner was wearing than it. It only became important when the girl he loved died trying to get it back for him. And by the time he knew there was something fucked up about it, it was too late.

And then he was dead. And there was no coming back from that, because the Lucien that Cree brought back was a wholly different one than the Lucien Tavelle of before. Hollowed out and cruel, with only wisps of memories of who he was before remaining.

We all know Taliesin made the poor life choice to treat C2 as a learning opportunity to work on his Irish accent, right? And we all know what happened to Molly and everything to do with Lucien. If you don't that's your cue to stop reading this and go finish campaign 2. So, for the Mighty Nein animated show, I have several questions.

Is Taliesin going to voice Molly? I assume yes but he might give it to Matt considering he never gets to play main characters, and Tal has Caduceus and irish pains him so. That's almost certainly not going to happen, but it's a fun thought and they're all pretty generous with the spotlight and their characters so you never know.

Is Molly going to have an irish accent? Again I assume yes but not necessarily lol. Taliesin has had years to work on it and he'll be in a recording studio not a live situation so it's totally doable, he'll be fine, the others will only roast him a little bit if and when he fucks it up.

When the story eventually gets to Lucien is it going to be voiced by Taliesin or Matt? Here's the one I'm genuinely not sure about, I can see great arguments for either choice honestly. Taliesin because it's the same body and the same voice box so people will recognize the character's voice, Matt, because come on, it's Matt! Fun, give him something to play with! Though I suppose he's probably going to be Essek so at least there's that for the Aeor arc. (And his accent is better sorry Taliesin love you!) I'm leaning towards it probably being Taliesin just for logical narrative consistency reasons more than anything else. It would be a little weird if it went Taliesin as Molly then Matt as Lucien then Back to Taliesin for Kingsley lol. But Matt's a good mimic so who knows!

its been so long and molly/lucien parallels are still everything to me. taliesin saying in the post ep26 talks machina that he wasnt even considering the ghost homebrew class because that included not having a physical form and would be depriving molly of everything he takes joy in, making that fate crueler than death and then lucien's final form being a flesh mass connected irreparably to the ground around him. it's like... he's in there. shame he's evil. but he's there

okay okay but like. both molly and lucien function as examples of the "came back wrong" trope but in vastly different ways. from an overarching narrative standpoint, molly is the one who came back wrong. he was a fragment of lucien's soul. from the emotional point of view of the nein, and also the audience, lucien is the one who came back wrong because molly was their friend and lucien isn't molly.
