LIST OF OCS FOR THIS BLOG
Miles Cyrus Īsenberg (he/him) is dating Sariel Alexander León (he/him). (They're basically dating but neither of them wants to say it. So they're technically just roommates. They're officially dating now. Miles also has two other many other partners that Sariel knows about and that know about Sariel, that list may grow eventually has grown.)
Currently playing Miles in a Vampire: The Masquerade game, in the same World of Darkness setting that @venominyourcoffee is running. Miles is a Brujah vampire and Sariel is now his sire.
Nathaniel Mutō (he/him) is married to Lucien Derosiers (he/they/it).
Currently playing Nathaniel in a Cyberpunk: Red game. I also just started a BG3 Durge run as Lucien, which I'll post screenshots from. I am now playing Nathaniel in the same World of Darkness setting as Miles, in a Werewolf: The Apocalypse game. Nathaniel is a Ragabash Shadow Lord (Hakken). Lucien is a mage.
I have also since not continued the Durge run.
Emil Albrecht (he/him) dates @venominyourcoffee 's character Booker Parks (he/him) in most settings. He will probably make some cameos on this blog.
Currently playing Emil in a modified Call of Cthulhu setting. Booker also exists in the same Cyberpunk: Red game with Nathaniel and Lucien.
At this point, Emil and Booker both exist in the same World of Darkness setting Miles and Nathaniel exist in.
Oscar Foxglove (he/him) exists solo. Even he doesn't know his own past, so I may not be able to answer all of your questions, as even I don't have all the answers.
Currently playing Oscar in a D&D game.
Ghost (he/him) exists solo. Ghost was originally a One Piece OC.
Currently playing Ghost in a D&D game.

Hero Queen Lionheart
Tumblr media
Weapons Master Cleaver / Master Flintlock Pistol
Alignment Good
As a Hero, she does good deeds for selfish reasons. The cruelty she faced as a child has made her both temperamental and praise-seeking. By doing good deeds the people of Albion love her but she doesn't feel any genuine attachment to them. At the Spire, her wish was for her family to be revived and was heartbroken that Rose didn't come back to her side when the other heroes left her.
Lionheart's legacy is that of a good and just queen, with her more brutal actions buried under the legend she left behind. She united under her reign by purchasing nearly all the land - with sponsorship from Reaver in exchange for a place in her court and the territories that didn't yield willingly were conquered. Her goal was to have a united Albion so that her children would never have to starve like she did. Being orphaned and left behind by everyone has left a hole that she tries to fill with things but no matter what she owns nothing feels like it belongs to her.
Before formally establishing the monarchy she married a Bowerstone noble, Albrecht, to help give her claim legitimacy. It was a business agreement between her and her husband and in exchange for becoming her King Consort, he would act as her ambassador and mouthpiece. Even into adulthood, Lionheart rarely speaks unless she's in casual company that doesn't know her or around those she trusts completely. Her voice is unrefined and she speaks less like a queen and more like a mercenary, so her husband must have more tact in polite company.
Albrecht, however, is not the father of her children. In another business deal, Lionheart conceived Logan and her daughter Marcela with Reaver to strengthen her Heroic bloodline and the chances her children would have abilities. Logan is Lionheart's favorite child. It wasn't something she intended but Logan was the first thing in her life that was well and truly hers, that could never be taken from her or leave her. By her second child, she finally felt more secure in her place in the world and was able to have a less desperate attachment.
Lionheart is a creature of revenge, having spent more than half her life wanting to avenge the death of Rose by Lucien it's almost all she knows. And even into her reign that hasn't changed. The cold realization that Theresa had used her, facilitated the death of her sister, and had her enslaved for a decade all to get her hands on the Spire has lit a dark fire in her chest. The latter parts of her life that weren't spent with her children were given to trying to find a way to hunt down and kill Theresa. It was on this path that the Lionhearted Queen was finally killed, having gotten too close to finally finding a way to put the seer down. Her body appeared on the steps of Bowerstone Castle, cold and dead with no signs of what was done to her.
The only one in Albion who knows would only give the future King a mysterious smile.
Perhaps it was for the best that Lionheart died when she did because if she'd lived to see the revolution led by her daughter, it might have been anarchy. In her eyes, Logan could never do anything wrong and would have supported all of his choices even if she was unaware of the Crawler and the darkness. Her legacy as the Hero Queen would shattered in the eyes of Albion's people if they realized that she never truly cared about them, her family would always be before the world.
If she had lived, it would be almost certain that she would have executed everyone who tried to rise against her son, even her precious friends. Walter, Swift, and Jasper would all come face to face with the fact that being a Hero doesn't mean one has to be good or heroic. Her second child would have never been able to sit on the throne unless Logan chose to abdicate, if she took it by force the hero queen would have forced her to give up her claim. Permanently.
And if Marcela chose to execute her brother? A five-star shock spell and a lifetime in the dungeon is a mercy compared to filicide.
Tumblr media
I wrote this entire thing for that last section I was wondering how my Sparrow would respond to the revolution and the HoBW overthrowing Logan and the answer is. Not Good.
A lot of heads would roll, she would lightning the people who kicked her dog but using her as a standard to put down Logan? She would probably have cut Waler's tongue out at minimum. She just wouldn't allow the rebellion to happen and if it did it would still end with Logan on the throne after the Crawler was dealt with.
And of course her wanting to kill Theresa even more for manipulating her children and pitting them against each other. Lionheart is a good queen and can do good things but she not a good person y'know?

* Explanations below line
* Explanations
Edelgard -> Eldegan: no masculine form of Edelgard (that I found); wanted to keep the nickname 'El', so borrowed this name with different spelling. Associative naming.
Dimitri -> Dimitr: pronounced Demeter, like the goddess (the origin of the name Dimitri)
Dedue -> Dedwen: no feminine form of Dedue; derived from name of ancient Nubian god Dedun, chose different name translation for feminine sounding suffix -wen. Associative naming.
Mercedes -> Michael: no masculine form of Mercedes; Mercedes refers to Mary, mother of Jesus. Michael is the original name of Jesus during his pre-human existence. Associative naming.
Annette -> Antoine/Fantine -> Lucien: no masculine form of Annette/Fantine. Lucien has a similar meaning as Fantine. Associative naming.
Ingrid -> Ingar: Both derived from Ing, but have different meanings. Associative naming.
Hellman -> Helga: no feminine form of Hellman; something, something mayonnaise joke.
Lysithea -> Lysitheo: Lysithea uses the suffix -thea that means goddess. -theo means god. Associative naming.
Sothis -> Sirius: Sothis is the personification of the star Sirius, often used as a male name. Associative naming.
Seteth -> Sethe/Cichol -> Cíocal: no feminine form of Seteth. Seth is a unisex name, used alternate spelling. Associative naming; Cíocal is another name for Cichol, no feminine form.
Flayn -> Flanyr/Cethleann -> Ke'len: Hrannr is the masculine form of Hrönn (Flayn in JP is Hrönn). JP phonetics make Flayn sound like 'furen' with a silent F that sounds like a soft H. 'Fureno' should be the phonetic of Flaynr, which sounds line Hrannr; Cethleann modern Irish pronunciation is Kehlen or Ke'len, no masculine form.
Rhea -> Rheus/Seiros -> Seir: feminine suffix -ea swapped to masculine -eus instead, masculine form of Rhea (mother of the 6 Olympians or mother of Romulus and Remus (of same name)); Seir referenced prince of the Ars Goetia, same as Byleth and Sitri. Associative naming.
Reus -> Rea: Same naming convention as Rhea -> Rheus (see above). (Yes, Jeralt and Rhea swap names lol)
Balthus -> Baltishna: no masculine form of Balthus/Balthazar; wanted to keep the nickname 'Balty', and maintain the Sanskrit naming connection to Vajra-Mushti relic. Associative naming.

Valentine's Day Brunch with Lucien Albrecht
Valentine’s Day Brunch with Lucien Albrecht
In lieu of our wine of the week, we’re celebrating Valentine’s Day with brunch! Cheese blintzes topped with peach-blueberry purée (peaches from our own back yard, frozen last summer) and some pink bubbles! Lucien Albrecht Crémant d’Alsace Brut Rosé is always the right choice for a romantic meal, at any time of day!  We’ve been fans of Lucien Albrecht wines for some time, and have written about…

[Don’t Think Too Hard - IC]
He might have almost wished to kiss Iota aan Draconis if only because everyone would be focused on her actions for the foreseeable future, and what could make him happier?  It was a deceptive chance to take a deep breath, letting the air out with a shudder as he hauled himself to his feet and stood.
So far it had all fallen into a charmed little existence, fitting in with an uneasy sort of acceptance that was often jarred up by the reminders of those who knew the circumstances of his arrival, and then just as fast, everyone moving past it.  Maybe not personally past it but with a few jokes and some laughs, letting it drops.
“Because we all get second chances.   Third, in some cases. Albrecht, Siegfrieda, Reion, Rafe, and myself... These are all people who you have met, even just in passing, who were captured and taken in.”
And then you compared that almost glittering promise to the night before?  Lucien had not been able to track down lux Bellor so while he maybe technically should have left off his design work the man was too twitching to not grab himself some parchment and charcoal sticks and take over the table with a slowly spreading pile of rough and then refined work, numbers and measurements jotted down idly.  aan Draconis was some place he might have jokingly said needed a sodding god’s interference to get her out of and while he spoke to Arlette and others, after his abuse of acoustics served enough of a purpose, it had jarred the sweet temptations of Araceli’s .... offer?
On habit he reached for where the mug of tea would be if he was in his own workshop and leaned back, letting out a short sign as it wasn’t there.  His expression was disjointed, a mild cloud of confusion, because that alone drove him to pause.
His reactions were blurring.  He wasn’t remaining on the edge of utter sheer panic and alertness, the constant feeling of enemy territory whispered in his thoughts.  He was forgetting it, sometimes, and starting to just.... move, fitting back into old, old habits he’d thought were buried and almost dead.  But instead, hand spread on the parchments and the table and looking at the barracks with a suddenly wary expression, the tension that had bled out back and obvious, they were apparently still there.
Some people put that edge immediately back into his mind, some people - and their positions - snapped his lax focus immediately back to the mindset of observe, watch, judge, react, evade faster than anything outside of his first real foray into melding into Eorzean life.  And ones who should were worming past the immediate defenses and Lucien tapped the stick against the paper lightly, thinking of what they had in common.
Not too much.
Except they were offering him what he apparently wanted.
A measure of utter normalcy was getting past his training and self preservation instincts faster than it should do.
Instead of tapping the charcoal stick on the parchment and leaving another set of odd random marks on it he set the stick down, carefully and meticulously dusting off his hands.  aan Draconis’ actions had bought him time which certainly couldn’t have been the woman’s intention, but it was the result.  Which meant he could decide if any of the half-truths and utter lies he’d spent the past several suns spinning might.... be worth making true.  Or if they should remain spun like delicate spun gold wire, and snapped as soon as he found the time to actually run.
By all rights, he should take Araceli up on her offer.  Before he took her up on the glittering dream she was presenting instead.  Or before he simply wanted to stick around and help Albrecht just for the sake of working with another engineer again, on a damn intriguing project.

Is that KATE WALSH? No, that’s just AALIS ALBRECHT. They were born on 13/10/1140 and are a HUNTER living in Northknot Town. They work as an ARCHITECT. Some say they're CLASSY and CONFIDENT, but I’ve heard others say they're DEMANDING and IMPATIENT. When you think of HER, don’t you think of SMUDGED PENCIL LINES, BLUEPRINT COVERED TABLES & HEELS CLICKING ON THE FLOOR?
Name: Aalis Katherine Albrecht Nickname(s): Kat, Allie Birthday: October 13th Age: 45 (884) Zodiac Sign: Libra Sun Aquarius Moon Scorpio Rising Gender: Cis-Female Pronouns: She/Her Species: Hunter Sexuality: Demisexual Occupation: Architect Faceclaim: Kate Walsh
HEADCANONS
She’s been living in Northknot on and off since the 1700 after forming an alliance with one of the town's founders, Lucien Blackthorne, a vampire and worthy adversary. While it started as a dangerous game of cat and mouse, it has since turned into having mutual respect for each other.
She has a cat named Milo who’s an orange tabby.
She has resting bitch face but she’s actually a sweetheart once you get to know her.
Aalis has a hidden talent for painting, a skill she uses to relax and express herself creatively.
In addition to her cat Milo, she may have a soft spot for other animals, perhaps often found feeding stray animals or helping with local animal shelters.
Aalis has a collection of old, antique items or artifacts from her long life that she keeps as a reminder of her experiences and wisdom.
She loves hot cocoa with a little mix of coffee.
Her favorite color is red.
She’s very particular when it comes to her drinks; red wine and gin only.
Her family consists of her daughter, Callista, her son-in-law, Zach, and her granddaughter, Marina.
APPEARANCE
Aalis exudes an aura of timeless sophistication with her striking red hair, often styled straight to frame her sharp, elegant features. Her hair cascades to her shoulders with an effortless grace, though she occasionally curls it for a touch of old-world charm. Dressed predominantly in classic black dresses, pencil skirts, and impeccably tailored suits, she commands respect and admiration. Her attire is completed with sleek stilettos that click purposefully on hard floors, announcing her presence with every step. On rare days when she’s feeling less composed, her attire shifts to a more casual look, usually dark and understated, revealing her more vulnerable side. Whether she’s immersed in architectural designs or enjoying a quiet moment with her cat Milo, Aalis’s refined style and presence remain a constant reflection of her storied life and sophisticated taste.
PERSONALITY
Aalis is a commanding presence with a sharp mind and a wit to match. Confident and fiercely independent, she approaches life with a level-headed decisiveness that’s both inspiring and intimidating. Beneath her refined, serious demeanor lies a deeply caring and supportive side, reserved for those she holds close, like her daughter Callista and granddaughter Marina. Aalis is a natural leader and big-picture thinker. Her RBF and sharp tongue often mask her innate warmth and quick humor, making her a delightful contradiction of poised elegance and unexpected sweetness. Whether she’s mentoring future architects, fiercely protecting her family, or engaging in a battle of wits, Aalis remains unapologetically herself; fierce, loving, and utterly unforgettable.
AESTHETIC
smudged pencil lines  - blueprint covered tables - heels clicking on the floor - all things black - red wine - vintage architecture books - elegant office spaces - gothic and baroque architecture - crumpled sketches and blueprints - intricate stonework and archways - antique compasses and rulers - dark red roses
CONNECTIONS
Ghost Partner They lived six lifetimes together before they finally passed away. They softened each other’s hard exterior; helped each other adjust to a life without so much death. They were each other’s other half.
BIOGRAPHY
tw: violence, death
A woman of many lives, Aalis was born to Avice and Gwenllian in 1140. The youngest of eight, Aalis often flew under the radar leaving the chores taken care of by the older children. Aalis spent most of her time playing outside with sticks, rocks and whatever else she could get her hands on. As she got older, she was taught to take care of the house. Things were peaceful for the large family of ten until one fateful night. Aalis was in her twenties; a pack of werewolves attacked their village. Although Aalis and her family fought back, there were no survivors.
"For each of us, there comes a time when we must awaken and become what we were born to become."
That same night, a group of twenty-seven witches resurrected Aalis and turned her into a hunter; seeking out the supernatural who went against nature and killing them. She spent the next thirty years doing just that until she was killed in battle. Resurrected at age twenty-four, she was able to start over and she spent her next ten lifetimes hunting the supernatural until she finally settled down in Northknot.
“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection."
Aalis went to school and became an architect. She helped build up Northknot to the city it is today. She found love; another hunter who was adjusting to living among the supernatural instead of killing them. They lived the next six lifetimes together until he finally died of old age in his last life. Aalis vowed to never love again after he passed. Yet on her next lifetime, she fell in love. Not with a man, but with a young girl, Callista. She was tough, feisty and all alone. She reminded Aalis a lot of herself. She took her in and eventually adopted the teenager. They were a family; a dysfunctional one but a family none-the-less.
“You have to let go of who you were to allow yourself to become who you are.”
Flash forward almost fifteen years, Aalis is now a grandmother to Callista’s daughter, Marina. She is more open to dating now and goes out on dates but it’s never anything serious. Aalis is still a bit afraid of getting attached and losing those close to her but she doesn’t show it. When she’s not working on designs for new buildings, she gives guest lectures about architecture at the local university and spends a lot of time with her granddaughter. Things are going well in her life and she’s finally happy.

Lucien Lévy-Bruhl (French, 1857–1939) on the concepts of collective representation and participation mystique.
Lucien Lévy-Bruhl (10 April 1857 – 13 March 1939) was a French scholar trained in philosophy who furthered anthropology with his contributions to the budding fields of sociology and ethnology. His primary field of study involved primitive mentality.
Born in Paris, Lévy-Bruhl wrote about the 'primitive mind' in his work How Natives Think (1910), where he posited, as the two basic mindsets of mankind, the "primitive" and the "modern." The primitive mind does not differentiate the supernatural from reality but uses "mystical participation" to manipulate the world. According to Lévy-Bruhl, the primitive mind does not address contradictions.
The modern mind, by contrast, uses reflection and logic. Lévy-Bruhl believed in a historical and evolutionary teleology leading from the primitive mind to the modern mind.[citation needed] Sociologist Stanislav Andreski[1] argued that despite its flaws,[which?] Lévy-Bruhl's How Natives Think was an accurate and valuable contribution to anthropology, perhaps even more so than better-known work by Claude Lévi-Strauss.
Lévy-Bruhl's work, especially the concepts of collective representation[2] and participation mystique, influenced the psychological theory of C. G. Jung.

Dante Alighieri (Italian: [ˈdante aliˈɡjɛːri]), probably baptized Durante di Alighiero degli Alighieri[note 1] and often referred to simply as Dante (/ˈdɑːnteɪ, ˈdænteɪ, ˈdænti/,[2][3] also US: /ˈdɑːnti/;[4] c. 1265 – 14 September 1321), was an Italian[a] poet, writer and philosopher.[6] His Divine Comedy, originally called Comedìa (modern Italian: Commedia) and later christened Divina by Giovanni Boccaccio,[7] is widely considered one of the most important poems of the Middle Ages and the greatest literary work in the Italian language.[8][9]
Dante is known for establishing the use of the vernacular in literature at a time when most poetry was written in Latin, which was accessible only to the most educated readers. His De vulgari eloquentia (On Eloquence in the Vernacular) was one of the first scholarly defenses of the vernacular. His use of the Tuscan dialect for works such as The New Life (1295) and Divine Comedy helped establish the modern-day standardized Italian language. His work set a precedent that important Italian writers such as Petrarch and Boccaccio would later follow.
Dante was instrumental in establishing the literature of Italy. His depictions of Hell, Purgatory and Heaven provided inspiration for the larger body of Western art and literature.[10][11] He is cited as an influence on such English writers as Geoffrey Chaucer, John Milton and Alfred Tennyson, among many others. In addition, the first use of the interlocking three-line rhyme scheme, or the terza rima, is attributed to him. He is described as the "father" of the Italian language,[12] and in Italy he is often referred to as il Sommo Poeta ("the Supreme Poet"). Dante, Petrarch, and Boccaccio are also called the tre corone ("three crowns") of Italian literature. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dante_Alighieri

We’re celebrating by sipping Lucien Albrecht Crémant D’Alsace Brut Rosé [tart cranberry compote, rhubarb, red Hawaiian sea salt, lemon meringue and macerated strawberries] Yes, this is a #French #sparklingwine but it’s not champagne. Why? Say it with me: champagne must come from Champagne, France. It’s a beautiful day here in #southbayla...Today I’m catching up on #ATeacher and of course end up falling asleep watching #AChristmasStory marathon on tbs. numb
It’s taken more than a handful of suns before the seething rage he wanted to indulge in had gone down to a tempered feeling - little things had very quickly reminded him how bad a rage was, how dangerous a rage was, and he’d never been one to give in to the raw emotions.
He’d carved out sanctuaries to make his work in Eorzea possible - and then spent moons securing them.  Moons of work, undone by Beringer at the orders of Lirus and whoever had authorized that outing.  He wasn’t going to lay the blame entirely on even Lirus, as much as the man had managed to effectively curtail his efforts after the talks with Arlette had been interrupted before he could use the woman to space out his attempt to flee.  Which meant he had to worry that every little chink he’d tried to lay against the impression of defector was against- what?
He hated trying to plan for something he couldn’t and didn’t know the details of.  Lucien did the only thing he could do, effectively, which was sink his attention into the tasks he had in front of his hands and put his mind entirely to them for every bell he was awake.  He’d been living like this for... Hah, did it even matter how long?  It’d long moved past being a game to try and win and had headed to the territory of careful concessions and allowances and bending his neck more than he originally wanted because the dual factors of belief and surrender came into play.
You could believe something, painfully strong and painfully desired, and be willing to give up little things you never would have wanted to, because it was a goal you could drive to.  The first time he’d spoken to pyr Algus and the subject of a transfer had come up he’d couched his reply in careful deflections - because he’d not tried to stack his deck then, and he didn’t foresee it falling so badly.  The second time and enough had fallen wrong that there was nothing easy about the talk, and he still had the half-finished missive to request she hand off to the VIth’s rem regarding the matter tucked under a badly poured ingot.
And then you filed away things to also help that goal, didn’t you?  He’d thrown himself into weapons work again, when he wasn’t putting the bells in the forges working on just handling the raw materials they constantly needed, and he tried to help because he wanted to and enjoyed helping - even if it ended with him sporting more injuries than he’d picked up in almost two turns prior - and he was back suddenly to frustration.  Because it’d been made clear that even this could be gone and he was staring at such slight recourse.
He’d put his report to Lirus’ hands and still avoided having to see the man - he didn’t fancy getting asked why he’d been out and who had authorized it, or why.  He hadn’t wanted to spend his nameday alternately buried in paperwork or dealing with having to fix a mistake of setting up a smelt while he must’ve still been coming off a hangover.  The chat with Sunthistle - and wouldn’t that be a problem if that got discovered? - had been enlightening and also not the usual call he had with the archer.  And he hadn’t even managed to ask what the hells had happened the sun before, instead trying to figure the best, most polite way to try and stop the archer from giving some jen a Shroud sapling.
He’d heard a phrase that he was starting to take to heart, as little as he showed it at the pubs or taverns because those places were places to gather information.  Questions are a burden to others - answers a prison for one’s self. Sometimes you had to ask.  Sometimes asking did nothing good.  He might’ve been mewled aside and away from the suddenly-busy engineering staff but at least it’d been giving him some entire suns of not having to deal with someone else, aside from the casual chatting that anyone could accomplish, even while they were half-dead from cold and poor food.
