There’s Asian fans who won’t get their money back from their flights and hotels, then there’s fans in general who didn’t even sleep lol and keep asking him if he’s okay etc and he and his team are so I don’t even know what to say. He tweeted and we don’t even know the reasons, everything is so weird. His team is really lame
If he doesn’t fire his entire team after this, I’m afraid he’s not as smart as I thought

oops… this is a lot longer than it was supposed to be, so sorrry!!
just prefacing this by saying that everything surrounding the asia leg cancellation is so fucked up for all the fans, but i did just want to say how sorry i feel for louis because he just has the worst fucking luck. it’s quite frustrating to see niall and harry do so well and not have these kind of set backs, and i’m not trying to compare or put anyone down, they deserve all the success they have, but it just sucks because louis deserve at least a 10th of that. his music is amazing, i think so many people outside of the current fanbase would love his personality, and he’s inspired and helped so many people. but he just keeps on getting thrown these curve balls. he writes an amazing album, but the numbers don’t represent that. he goes on tour, that gets cancelled. he releases a doc, but there’s barely any media coverage on it. like i get that he’s probably catering this stuff to the fans, but he’s at a point where fandom support is not enough (this is an assumption, but i do think the cancellation is b/c he didn’t meet some sort of ticket/sale quota, otherwise he would’ve given an explanation as to why this happened). anyways, imo he (and harry too) should take some time to figure stuff out. take a step back, maybe write a little music, but mainly just reflect on how far they’ve come (because they’ve achieved so much!!!) and see where they want to go from here. they’re just going going going because they want to keep up the momentum, but i think they’re leaving the fans behind in the process. i get that covid changed so many things and everyone is trying to catch up from the past two years of lockdown, but when you keep on touring and releasing stuff people become overwhelmed, mentally, emotionally, financially. i think that’s kinda where people are at. fans are becoming frustrated with hl. niall on the other hand, everyone is asking when he’s going on tour because people haven’t seen him in over 4/5 years. it’s good to step back, give people a chance to miss you, especially in this kind of industry. i know everyone keeps on saying the same thing over and over again, but yeah… it just sucks. i hope things start getting better for louis, he deserves it.
Hi nonnie, don’t worry I don’t mind long messages.
I agree with you that it's true that Louis cannot catch a break and that in the past he unfortunately had the worst luck, but in this case with the examples you named I just can't absolve Louis completely of the responsibility. The (potential) low ticket sales, fitf's numbers, aotv not making any noise outisde of the fanbase are things that Louis should have some control over and what's lacking is any effort from lthq to... work. You cannot just drop a project, expect fans to carry it and do your job for you and then get disappointed when the outcomes don't meet your expectations. Louis released fitf and then disappeared/went on holidays/went to party in LA/promoted a doc full of lies. How is that going to be sustainable?
Hard agree on Niall and his promo, though. His team is just so smart with reintroducing him to the gp and booking him for festivals before they send him on tour. And in all of his interviews you can see how... mature the approach he has to his art and career has. My friend @louisshomesharry hit the nail on the head yesterday when we were talking, and said that compared to HL, Niall accepts his age and adjusts his career accordingly, meanwhile the boys are still trying to live their early 20s catering to teens cause they don't want to accept they wasted those years on some bullshit. I wish they could both take a step back, slow down, reconnect with each other and then come back when they're rested and matured (and with a duet album ready haha).

I didn't follow any of the pre-release promotional materials; do you have a link to the showrunner(s) stating/implying that queerness is merely "subtextual" in the absence of literal sex? (Apologies if you've shared it before and I just wasn't paying attention.) Also, thank you for your prolific and thorough critiques. I'm a more casual book fan and was tentatively excited to see the show forge a new narrative path while still guided by the same lifeblood, if you will. But at this point, hmmmmmm
I don't recall him commenting on it being about literal sex, THAT WAS ME EDITORIALZING LMAO.
I haven't been able to stomach the entire SDCC panel but I know they talked about it in there, I kinda peeked around for a transcript but didn't find one. ANYONE FEEL FREE TO SHARE THE DIRECT QUOTES please I don't have the strength. There's a summary article here, though, which touches on the convo a little:
Tumblr media
(Don't even ask me to start unpacking the Fiona Apple comment dude what?)
This article also talks about the SDCC panel and doesn't directly quote him but it sums up:
Tumblr media
There's just been article after articleeeeee of people who didn't read the books or just watched the film or whatever and keep going WOWIE IT'S NOT SUBTEXT, GREAT JOB, when like ? It was never subtext lol. And that's not entirely the show's fault, how mainstream perceives it, but they've been running with that and taking credit for it.
Like there's just been tons of headlines and praise like this -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think the show & RJ have also been pretty blurry with how often they claim they're not a remake of the movie and yet constantly make digs at the movie and even reference it often on the show itself. So I think sometimes they're commenting on the movie when they forget they've already told us they're not remaking the movie. =P
There's also this quote (I didn't screenshot bc there's an ad in the middle LOL!) but:
"It’s aggressive subtext in the first book, but by the time you read books eight and nine, it was the love affair of the century. Without spoiling too much, subtext becomes text in our show."
(Let's not point out that books 8 & 9 are ... *checks notes* Blood & Gold and Blackwood Farm. Okaaaaaay Rolin. 😪)
Also sorry by love affair of the century do you mean Lestat goes around and has adventures and uses everyone while Louis stays safely tucked away at Armand's house until he's needed, or? Sorry lmfao I'm so fucking. dghadgkjs.
That interview is full of nonsense that will make you want to scream if you're feeling brave.
Anyway I feel like, I've been obsessively watching the production unfold for the past year and I kept getting so many red flags like there's been so many odd comments and little sexist quips, the complete misunderstanding (or lack of fucks) about what Claudia is supposed to mean in the story, etc. I just keep getting aggressive CISHET MAN vibes from this team and the lens they read VC through.
And yknow what, fair whatever I guess, we all read different versions of the same book and they're the ones that got to make it. But idk I like VC for the dark elegant spooky existential angst, I didn't need it to be gritty and open up with shit jokes. And five episodes in I didn't need it to use outdated, dangerous rape tropes and I also don't need it to oversell the domestic abuse. (Hint: Lestat was already abusive as fuck from the moment we met him, don't oversell!)
It's an okay show lmao. It's not recognizable as VC at all except that it recycles the names. None of the characters have been accurate so far. Even Lestat, where Sam Reid is doing so many fun things with his delivery and mannerisms that almost seem like Lestat, is just so fucking OOC and a caricature and just really lacks the depth and nuance and sensitivity of who he is in the books.
If you can turn your brain off and not look at it as VC there's some fun moments, but it's also full of continuity errors and just plot holes and bad writing when you look too close, so don't try to analyze it too hard or you'll have a bad time lol. Even the stuff that's really interesting and that they get right, they tend to lose interest in and drop, or they mix it into so much vampire soap opera shenanigans that it's hard to walk away knowing what the episode is actually about. It's just. Woof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with your take on Louis like I’m a louie but some louie taking it too far with blaming everything on Harry and his team to the point that it becomes some weird conspiracy. You’re right about the industry and the gp “choosing one”, unfortunately it was always this way.
but this -“and do i think of course that harry would love to see louis be a total failure and for harry styles alone to look like the most talented successful member of one direction? of course. “ - is so true like I just know Harry was sitting and laughing at all the hate that Liam was getting after that Logan Paul podcast, he’s just that kind of person. Sometimes I truly think that he doesn’t know what empathy is because he just seems so calculated and cold. He probably was like “see, I’m the best thing to come out of 1D, look at Liam embarrassing himself”.
i think we can also see how this works in the industry with how angry harry clearly was that zayn left first, because he knew zayn was a direct rival. zayn is better looking and a better singer. and it was true, his first song was more popular than harry's first song. the industry was going to make zayn the star of the band, but unfortunately whatever zayn's gone through and his own refusal to do public performances just really limited him.
and there's no doubt in my mind that every single time one of these guys has fucked up, harry has been eagerly reading and laughing and lapping it up. i do believe he's like that. some don't, i definitely do. remember the louis/zayn weed tapes? how right after there was a major sun exclusive about how harry had nothing to do with it and how he frowned about it? that was from harry and his team, making sure harry got away from that, but that louis and zayn looked bad. he was orchestrating already at that point to be a solo star, and didn't want the others to hurt him.
he even basically confirmed it all with that weird interview where he goes on about how he didn't want to do drugs IN the band because he didn't want to mess it up (like those others messed it up, like lous/zayn fucked it up, he was basically saying), but did want to do them in his own solo career, which he seemed to feel for some reason was better and cooler? so we can see how harry's PR works and how he'd throw the others to the dogs.
also remember when those fans attacked eleanor and he was defending her and got arrested at the airport, within days harry was at the airport taking photos with random fans. again, he's never like that, he doesn't do that often, but suddenly he is? it reminded me of the prince william/kate middleton empty commercial plane flight stunt they did right after all the talk about meghan/harry using private jets.
i think honestly, that even though louis's career is not the highest selling artist, and he's not on the top of all the lists, i do suspect harry is STILL jealous over it, because he has fans, he's looking like he's having fun, he's selling out, and i think harry had hoped and really expected, that louis would be total wash and nobody would care. so that anyone cares about him and niall at this point i suspect is an annoyance to him.

hi! as a baby larrie im struggling a bit with what to believe w/o looking like a theorist (hate that word and i don't mean to offend at all i swear!) but like people around harry and interviews keep saying he's so authentic and is exactly what he shows and we believe that. but what he also shows is olivia attached to him 24/7 and sometimes a distance/disconnection with fans. so he's authentic except for that? same with Louis/F/eleanor and his honesty. i'm confused how do you guys distinguish?
Hi sugar. I think what you’re confusing is Harry’s authentic behavior and what Harry has to do for work. He’s with Olivia often, but does he look happy with her? Does he talk about her like he’s in love with her? Does he refer to her when talking about his music? No. She’s a beard. And he tries to be as authentic as possible and avoid lying as much as possible, but it’s a really tall order when you’re closeted and in the public eye.
I disagree on people’s perception that he’s distanced/disconnected. At least, in so far as to say he’s doing it because he doesn’t care. I think Harry is removed from social media for his own mental health. And I think a large percentage of his fans are extremely entitled. Yes, his team has done stuff that his fandom doesn’t like. And it’s annoying and frustrating and I wish some things were different. And at the same time, I think Harry is genuinely grateful for his fans. Personally, I just choose not to get angry about certain things.
I don’t see anything about Harry or Louis being bearded, or Louis having to deal with babygate, as a reflection on their authenticity. No celebrity is going to give the world 100% of themselves. But these quotes we hear from people who know them or meet them, who say “oh, they’re so kind and down to earth, they’re genuine and shy etc etc” have been consistent for the last 12 years. If there was shit to tell, believe me, it would be told.

your tags about btm on radio omg i was thinking this too. it's not to say louis and his team's intentions are exactly that but judging on his words before and being unhappy during his chart-chasing days, i don't think it would be too far to believe he's leading his brand towards a specific audience or listeners that wouldn't necessarily involve him having hits.. it's almost strategic though it's always up for debate whether he's being blacklisted or what
idk where i'm going with this and you don't have to publish the ask if you don't want to keep talking about these assumptions but lol just wanted to say i've had the same thoughts too
I'm not alone! 😭 Hahaha. And I just want to ramble just because my brain needs some organizing, so thank you, anon. And this refers to my tags on this post.
Yes, I mean, I think they're doing quite a bit of promo... Not like the best interviewers (I'm waiting for you Mr. Sang!) but still... It's pretty decent for single promo. And then I'm guessing it'll ramp up for the album release, but it just...
Last year's AFHF didn't get ANY press, and I'm a firm believer that Louis didn't want any because that was for us only. It might sound silly and delusional, but... He repeats how much we mean to him that I don't think it's too far fetched.
Press about tour? Pretty okay. A lot of it in latam countries ofc (because the passion was insane and that makes the news), and AFHF this year was decent. But again... Nothing too over the top. And even then! Look how much his tour grew. I saw him in Vancouver in a almost 3k venue and then saw him in Milan with other 34k people. That is insane. INSANE. And I don't think he's too... worried about getting new fans by being in everybody's soup.
He knows he's got us, he's happy with his fanbase and we're happy when he's doing what he wants to do (which he has also said recently). And I think it WILL keep growing organically, like it has in the last two years with no new music. So now... He's gonna release a bunch of bangers, and excuse me for thinking he'll just let most of it happen on its own, and it will happen. Some people think it can't be possible for him to think like this, or that it's mediocre, or that he's ambitious of course he wants more, and YES, he does, but he's not running to get all of that from one day to the other. We love him so fiercely and most of us support him no matter what, so maybe he wants new people to feel the same way... And that's a slow growth, in my opinion.
Also, when he mentioned the ticket prices and stuff... It kinda made me think about how happy he is with the people at his shows? Like... We scream every freaking lyric back at him, man. Not only the choruses of the songs, every single word is literally sung so loudly. So if you get more and more casual fans (which he will inevitably get but if he's not overplayed/everywhere they won't be as many) that decreases a lot. And I don't want to compare but that's what happens at Harry's shows (even in LOT '21). Aaaand I saw it in Milan too, because I was at the far far back, and I was the ONLY person around singing everything. Everyone around me didn't know all the words, didn't know the covers, and that's alright... But it still wasn't the bulk of the people there.
Alright. This is all over the place (so much for organizing my thoughts), and just to say I don't know shit, this is me observing, talking out of my ass and speculating.

Sat 29 May ‘21
Production director Krupa, who does tech as part of Louis’ live team, posted a video captioned “won’t be long now” showing a banner with Louis’ smiley on it behind a drumset, with voices audible behind the camera; seems like it was old, from the tour shows that happened in 2020, but we know LT Tour ‘22 is on everyone’s minds behind the scenes with pieces very much currently in the process of being shuffled and arranged and tickets being sold, so it makes sense people are posting about it even though it’s so far away. Anyway does the voice in the video say “Styles when I start the video don’t laugh”? It does sound like it but whoever is there doesn’t laugh and is pretty much inaudible so we’ll never really know who it was but fans ask; why is this yet another example of someone associated with Louis who doesn’t follow any of the other 1D boys (and why would they) except… Harry? hmmm. Well, regardless of that if the voice in the video really finishes up by yelling “bukkake” we don’t want to dig ANY further into THAT but I will choose to believe they are instead yelling “we’re cocky” cause well, they ARE! What are they doing here! Plus then we don’t have to uh get into that other thing (bukkake). Krupa, enjoying the response to all that, then posted a picture of the bass drum head with Doncaster postcode taped on that had been used on tour. Robert Harvey (the songwriter from yesterday) is also enjoying the high of Louis-related posting and fan attention and charmingly joked about people being there to see his workout content.
“You don’t see a lot of Nialls around,” said Niall, who is in business with a guy named Niall Horgan, while being interviewed by a guy named Niall Grey, and shares some of the ways people say his name- “Neil, Noel, Nigel,Howoon, Heran”, plus “some of the lads call me Nelly”. He also said he’s “in the studio again, writing the third album and this is feeling really good. Hopefully I can get it out, I don’t really know when. When the world is all vaccinated & ready to go, I’ll probably try and get out on the road again” (and he says he was in the studio yesterday, how does he have TIME with all the promo?) In today’s entry into the tell all we’re compiling one sentence at a time over years, Niall says that the reason he just sat there during the whole “pregnant lady going into labor” nickelodeon prank (played on a young 1D for televised laughs, HAHA watch Harry stress the fuck out-- hilarious! :| ) was that he realized it wasn’t real right off (and that he went and spoke to someone who told him to get back in there), but to be fair is it tell all material given that he says right in the original video post-reveal part that he knew? He also said, “I'm pretty carefree, I care less now. I used to be really agitated and wanted to be doing stuff all the time and it [2020] really gave me an opportunity to step back from things. You didn't have to be moving all the time to be yourself,” and that yes he DID spend some time with his special friend (Amelia) during quarantine, “we have been doing a lot of cooking, it made lockdown a lot simpler... I think I would have gone mad on my own,” and “it was good to be at home and chill out, I feel bad saying that with all that's going on in the world but it was a nice thing.” Anne Marie said about the video “I was driving because back in the day, there wasn't a lot of pictures of women driving a car. So I took the control- we did nearly die. It was all hills and stuff, going round the corner of a hill, and I couldn't turn it, so we nearly died” and “I LOVE US,” and Niall said "if you don't like it, don't listen to it" about the single; StreamOurSong trended.
And an unseen picture of Harry from his shoot with Tim Walker was posted; he’s sprouting from earth like a beautiful flower, just like the ones he is draped in, fantastic! And museums are reopening to display Harry’s clothes all over the place; first the grammy museum, now the Victoria and Albert in London has at last reopened their doors, allowing the masses in to see the famous JW Anderson patchwork cardigan in the, uh, wool. Everyone wants some of that Harry Styles™ magic for their business! Even indie rock musicians; duo Bachelor’s new music video is all about getting some of that Harry magic for themselves. The two play exaggerated caricatures of harries, who happen upon someone they mistake for Harry and kidnap him and keep him in their basement (where they force him to sing Stockholm Syndrome repeatedly? No! Truly a missed opportunity, disappointing). The video is “about the dark side of fandom” they say, SIGH. Well, they may have portrayed fandom in the worst possible light, but at least they threw some money at the women they were condescendingly mocking while they were at it, their fan made product budget must have been huge-- like c’mon, just those redbubble bedspreads cost a fortune!

We realized it’s been a while since our first canon rec list came out, so we decided to create a second part to it! We hope you enjoy these fics. If you enjoy BLP making rec lists, please be sure to reblog this post to spread the word. Happy reading!
1) That Summer Feeling | Explicit | 2093 words
"It was still a lazy summer evening, the sun was still floating in the sky and the balcony window was letting in a warm breeze. Harry thumbed at Louis’ hipbone, easing his lips off Louis’ skin just to mumble “Turn over, darling.” Louis cracked a small smile, turning over slowly and revealing the back half of his naked body. Harry’s tongue felt too big for his mouth. He swallowed as he took in the sight. He’d never get tired of this."
2) The Sucking Method | Explicit | 2668 words | Sequel #1 | Sequel #2 | Sequel #3
Louis tries to quit smoking, but none of his methods work. Harry comes up with a new idea that involves lots of sucking.
3) Spirit Meets The Bones | Explicit | 3220 words
The action shouldn’t fill his eyes with tears but it does. These small gestures mean the world to him. A steady reminder that Harry does notice all the tiny, seemingly insignificant details that make Louis him.
4) Blue Eyes, Black Jeans, Lighters, Candy | Explicit | 3629 words | Sequel
Harry is in Madrid and Louis had a hard week.
5) This Is Where I Sleep | Explicit | 3678 words
Harry and Louis go camping while on break and make some memories.
6) A Touch of Your Love | Explicit | 3856 words
Harry needs to work out. Louis wants him to pay attention to him. They find a compromise.
7) We’ve Got A Vicious Streak | Explicit | 4073 words
In the aftermath of 1DDay, Harry finds a way to help Louis relax.
8) The Sound Of Silence | Explicit | 4272 words
Note: This fic is locked and can only be read by AO3 users.
Early the next morning, Louis had been scrolling through Twitter when he first saw the wild conspiracy.
“What if the person in the VIP box is actually Xander?”
Louis had almost choked on his coffee. Xander? Of all the people Harry had been connected to over the last few years, this person was speculating Harry was secretly in love with Xander Ritz?
9) Cherries In The Snow | Mature | 5151 words
It’s Valentine’s Day, and Harry is not in the mood. So naturally, Louis lets Harry paint his body with kiss marks to make him feel better.
10) At The End Of My Rope | Mature | 5608 words
The one where they go to Crete and Harry is definitely hiding something.
11) Just Stop Your Crying (It's a Sign of the Times) | Explicit | 5864 words
My own imagining of the inspiration for Sign of the Times.  Featuring boys in love, even after all this time.
12) Maybe My Heart’s Numb | Mature | 6007 words
"Lou."
He breathes in sharply and turns to his right, the source of the voice just having sat down. "Yeah?" he asks softly, trying to get his voice to come out as evenly as possible.
Harry stares at him with an unreadable look on his face, then looks down. Louis' gaze follows.
 Oh.
Harry's holding his right hand, a completely burnt out cigarette lying underneath it.
13) Singing Your Praises | Explicit | 6226 words
Prompt 86: Louis rides Harry while wearing his packer’s jersey/sweater and gets his ass ate.
14) The Window To The Soul | Explicit | 6925 words
Harry comes off stage at iHeart 2017 and really needs a bit of physical affection.
15) PDA: Public Displays of Arousal | Mature | 7281 words
"He soon ventured out on a relaxing stroll along the damp shore, pouting down at the very dainty size of the footprints he made in the wet sand. He could already picture Harry making a large footprint right next to it just to coo at their very distinct size difference, and Louis didn’t know whether to grin or grimace. He looked up from the ground to observe the colorful assortment of tents and umbrellas from the people scattered along the sand, and the people themselves were-
Well, they were all naked."
16) Cease The Day | Explicit | 8195 words
In which 1D Day takes on a whole new meaning.
Instead of a seven hour livestream, the One Direction team deem it more profitable to offer an entire day spent with any one member of the band for the highest bidder. What happens when the same buyer wins both Louis and Harry for a day?
17) Little White Lies | Explicit | 10450 words
Louis makes an off hand comment in an interview then comes home to find Harry has laid his old braces out on their bed.
18) Tomorrow You Won’t Be Mine | Explicit | 13592 words
Louis and Harry were larry, until they broke up and weren’t. Years into the hiatus Louis finds himself in Philadelphia for a music festival, completely unaware that Harry has a show that night there too until fans start to freak out online. Louis has things to get off of his chest about their break up all those years ago and turns up to Harry’s concert without notice, leaving Harry in complete shock. Feelings overwhelm them both, leading to a night where they realise just how much they missed eachother...
19) With the Certainty Of Tides | Mature | 13980 words
“Love you,” Louis whispered in the dark. He didn’t know what time it was or where the light had gone, he knew that he was in Harry’s arms, basking in the afterglow of all their love and he’d be a fool to not tell Harry that. As if Harry didn’t know.
“Love you,” was whispered back, as if Louis didn’t know. They confessed to each other as if it was their first time saying it, raw and painful, and listened to it the very same way, but they knew those words to be the only ones true.
With all the certainty of the tides, with all the light from the sun, with all the steady beats of their hearts, they were deftly in love, in secret and so loudly. They were brave and fearless and strong and hopelessly devoted in every sense of their breaths.
“We made it, baby,” Harry mumbled, bringing their lips into a final kiss, sweet and soft and the color of pink. They already knew that, didn’t fight tooth and nail and argued through every petty year and bleed their hearts into the words they sang and on their skin for them to have not made it home.
They were home.
20) Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) | Not Rated | 16683 words
The one where Harry wants a little more in the bedroom and has a habit of putting his foot in his mouth.
21) Oblivious | Explicit | 19096 words
Where Louis gets a little crush on Luke and for some reason Harry starts acting weird.
22) Late Night Devil (Put Your Hands On Me) | Explicit | 20086 words
Harry Styles has always put up with him. With every snip of attitude, every idiotic act of stubbornness, every harsh and sour word. Each time Louis thinks he's stepped too far, clung too tight, bitten too hard, Harry is there to forgive him, to protect him, to hold him. Maybe he was naive to think that, no matter how hard he pushed, Harry would never move.
Maybe he should have seen it coming.
23) England Has My Bones | Explicit | 24087 words
The next time Harry thinks about calling, it’s 4.14 in the morning on a Parisian hotel balcony.
24) Pink In The Night | Explicit | 32324 words
His finger was tapping on Louis’ chat before Harry could even think about it, eyes reading over the last text he’d sent Louis. I miss you. Do you miss me?
Harry had felt so pathetic that December night, alone in the dark room of the Japanese apartment he’d been staying at, the strong smell of alcohol clinging to his clothes.
Louis hadn’t replied, but Harry wasn’t surprised; he had texted Louis a few times before while he’d been away, but there had never been a response.
It pained him to admit that this was their new normal.
25) What’s Mine Is Yours To Make Your Own | Mature | 39919 words
Sometimes, the closest Harry ever feels to home is Louis. It’s their shared hotel rooms on tour, their shoes toed off in the doorway next to each other, jackets hung on the same post. It’s everything he doesn’t notice until it’s been taken away from him.
Check out our other fic rec lists by category here and by title here.

hello!
there's no question that latam fans are superior! i love how loud they are and how happy louis looks when he's singing to a whole lot of them. and this leg of the tour is giving us a glowing and utterly beautiful louis every single time he's around fans. he also seems to be very aware of the effect his outfits have on us🤤🤤. they're are getting better and juicier 😋 day by day.
i love that he's able to explore and go sightseeing in the cities that he's touring. i remember an interview of him where he says that he's getting more interested in exploring new places as he's getting older. and to think that he not only travels with his band and crew in private planes but also takes them along with him to explore all these beautiful cities?!?!?! oh the things i would do to be a part of his crew!😭😭😭😭
he finally did it!! he blocked that shitty ua!! it's something that should've been done a long time ago but I'm so glad that he finally did it! yeah and i don't care about that group of people, good for louis and all his loyal fans if they unstan him!! they don't deserve louis anyway😌
28th is going to be special!! i can't wait for it! two days are so long without louis🥲
my studies are going alright! my exams are in just about a month. i hope i don't miss getting to watch his concerts (though that seems kind of impossible😒).
my sister is a hard core louie now😙😙😙. i haven't been this proud of me for anything in my life before😂. love having someone who understands my adoration to him. we watch the lives together most of the times and I've gotten her to follow you and a bunch of other louie blogs! she loves it!

Better and juicier is so right!!! It’s like he stepped up his fashion game even more the minute he stepped on their soil! The jeans got tighter the tops got sexier! I absolutely love it for him and for us. My fav so far has definitely been the yellow red and black Buenos Aires N1 top, ughhhh he made it look so so so good 🤤
You’re so right, the way that he’s been able to actually be a cute little tourist at some of the places he’s stopped in. And the fact that he takes his entire team with him 🥲 he’s literally one of a kind. We’re so lucky to have chosen him to love. He always makes it worth it.
I love that we’ll have a natural filtering of the fandom, it was way overdue any way! Those who are in it for their own selfish reasons need to leave and stick to the entities that reward and encourage their manic behaviour. Leave Louis for us, we’ll treat him right 🤍
Oh best of luck with your exams! I’m sure you’ll ace em. Even if you miss the shows, you can always catch up. I love that we have people in the fandom who record and save the livestreams for us. Very generous of them. And you always have tumblr to update you on the minute by minute of each show.
I absolutely love that last paragraph! Turning other people into louies is like doing the Lord’s work! 🙏🏽 hiiii 🦹🏽’s sister 👋🏽 glad to have the both of you here <3

While many artists would jump at the chance to tell you how lockdown has been a fruitful opportunity for self-improvement, full of pseudo self-help books and pompous podcasts, former One Directioner Louis Tomlinson is adamant that he has done, well, nothing.
“I’ve just watched loads of s___ TV,” he says after a long pause. “The Undoing is decent, isn’t it?”
Twenty-eight--year-old Tomlinson from Doncaster was always the down-to-earth Directioner, frequently describing himself as fringe member who spent more time analysing the band’s contracts than singing solos, known for chain-smoking his way through several packs of cigarettes a day and swearing like a trooper. A rarity, these days, among millennials who’d rather suck on a stem of kale and tweet about their #blessings.
Far from aimless, however, today the singer is full of beans, cheerily shushing his barking dog as he potters about his North London home where he lives with his best friend from home, Oli, and his girlfriend, the model Eleanor Calder.
He's getting ready to rehearse an exciting one-off gig that will be live-streamed from a secret London location on December 12, announced today exclusively via the Telegraph. The proceeds of the night will be split across four charities: The Stagehand Covid-19 Crew Relief Fund and Crew Nation, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and Marcus Rashford’s charity FareShare, to help end child poverty.
The gig means a great deal to Tomlinson, whose first ever tour as a solo artist, to promote his debut solo album WALLS, was cut short back in March after just two concerts in Spain and Mexico. It was an album he’d spent five years working on: a guitar-led project that ruptured with the preppy pop anthems of One Direction, inspired instead by Tomlinson’s love for Britpop.
No doubt he was anxious to get it right following a decade “grown in test tubes”, as Harry Styles once described the band’s formation on the X Factor, where they came third before going on to make a reported $280,000 a day as the most successful band in the world. The pressure, too, was intense: all four bandmates had already released their own solo debuts.
Was he left reeling, I ask, unable to perform at such a crucial moment?
“The thing that I always enjoyed the most about One Direction was playing the shows, so my master plan, when I realised I was going to do a solo career, was always my first tour. It’s something I’ve been looking forward to for the best part of five years now. I got so close, I got a taste for it, and it’s affected me like everyone else, but I’m forever an optimist,” he says down the phone, with what I can only imagine to be a rather phlegmatic shrug.
Sure, I say, but the last year can’t have been easy. Didn’t he feel like his purpose had popped?
“You know what,” he says, reflecting, “maybe because I’ve had real dark moments in my life, they’ve given me scope for optimism. In the grand scheme of things, of what I’ve experienced, these everyday problems...they don’t seem so bad.”
Tomlinson is referring to losing his 43-year-old mother, a midwife, to leukemia in 2016, and his 18-year-old sister Felicite, a model, to an accidental drug overdose in 2018. The double tragedy is something he has been open about on his own terms, dedicating his single, Two of Us, from WALLS, to his mother Johannah, while often checking in with fans who have lost members of their own family.
It’s not unusual for Tomlinson to ask his 34.9 million followers if they’re doing alright, receiving hundreds of thousands of personal replies. It’s not something he will discuss in interviews, however, after he slammed BBC Breakfast for shamelessly probing his trauma in February this year. “Never going back there again,” he tweeted after coming off the show.
“Social media is a ruthless, toxic place, so I don’t like to spend much time there,” says Tomlinson, “but because of experiencing such light and shade all while I was famous, I have a very deep connection with my fans. They’ve always been there for me.”
In return, Tomlinson is good to them. Last month he even promised some new music, saying that he’d written four songs in four days. Does this mean that a second album is on the way?
“Yeah, definitely,” he says. “I’m very, very excited. I had basically penciled down a plan before corona took over our lives. And now it's kind of given me a little bit of time to really get into what I want to say and what I want things to sound like. Because, you know, I was really proud of my first record, but there were moments that I felt were truer to me than others. I think that there were some songs where I took slightly more risk and owned what I love, saying, ‘This is who I want to be’. So I want to take a leaf out of their book.”
Fans might think he’s referring to writing more heartfelt autobiographical content such as Two of Us, but in fact, he’s referring specifically to rock-inspired Kill My Mind, he says, the first song on WALLS. “There’s a certain energy in that song, in its delivery, in its attitude, that I want to recreate. People are struggling at the moment, so I want to create a raucous, exciting atmosphere in my live show, not a somber, thoughtful one.”
He sighs, trying to articulate something that’s clearly been playing on his mind for a while. “You know, because of my story, my album was a little heavy at times and a little somber. And as I'm sure you're aware, from talking to me, now, that isn't who I am.”
It must be draining, I say, the weight of expectation in both the media and across his fanbase, to be a spokesperson for grief and hardship. To have tragedy prelude everything he does and says.
“Honestly, it’s part of being from Doncaster as well, I don’t like people feeling sorry for me. That’s the last thing I want.”
The problem is, says Tomlinson, he doesn’t have the best imagination. “I have interesting things to say musically, but what’s challenging from a writing perspective is that I write from the heart, and I can’t really get into someone else’s story. And right now, being stuck at home, you have so little experience to draw from. It’s actually quite hard to write these positive, uplifting songs, because actually, the experiences that you're going through on a day to day basis, you know, you they don't have that same flavour.”
There is something that’s helping, though: a secret spot near Los Angeles, where he divides his time to see his four-year-old son, Freddie, whom he shares with his ex Briana Jungwirth, a stylist. “It’s remote and kind of weird, and I’m going to go there for three days and write. I don’t know why I’m so drawn to it. I found it via a YouTube video. It’s got some very interesting locals who live there, it’s sort of backwards when it comes to technology. It feels like you’re going back in time when you’re there. But I don’t want to give it away.”
Another source of inspiration for his second album is the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ back catalogue. “I grew up on their album Bytheway. And during lockdown I've been knee deep in their stuff. I’ve watched every documentary, every video. And I find their lead guitarist John Frusciante just fascinating.”
Has he spoken to Frusicante?
“I f______ wish,” snorts Tomlinson.
Surely someone as well-known as Tomlinson could easily get in touch?
“No, honestly, I think he’s too cool for that. He’s not into that kind of thing.”
Tomlinson’s passion for all things rock is also spurring on a side hustle he picked up as a judge on the X Factor in 2018: managing an all-female rock band via his own imprint on Simon Cowell’s Syco label. While the group disbanded before releasing their first single, and Tomlinson split from Syco earlier this year, the singer is keen to nurture some more talent.
“I'm not gonna lie, my process with my imprint through Syco, it became challenging and it became frustrating at times,” Tomlinson says a little wearily. “The kind of artists that I was interested in developing – because I genuinely feel through my experience in One Direction, you know, one of the biggest f______ bands, I feel like I've learned a lot about the industry – they weren’t ready-made. So I had lots of artists that I took through the door that were rough and ready, but major labels want to see something that works straight away. I found that a little bit demotivating. I love her and she's an incredible artist, but not everyone is a Taylor Swift.”
Tomlinson spends much of his free time scouting new talent either on YouTube, Reddit or BBC Introducing – he’s currently a huge fan of indie Brighton band, Fickle Friends. His dream is to manage an all-female band playing instruments. “Because there's no one in that space. And I know eventually if I don't do it, someone else will!”
Before he drives off to rehearsals, we chatter about how much he's been practising his guitar playing, and how he can't wait to take the whole team working at his favourite grassroots venue, The Dome in Doncaster, out ice-skating after he performs there on his rescheduled tour. “Because I've got skills,” he says, and I can hear his chest puff.
And then I ask the question every retired member of One Direction has been batting off ever since they broke up in 2015, after Zayn Malik quit. Rumours that his bandmates saw him as a Judas went wild after some eagle eyes fans noticed they’d unfollowed him on Instagram. Payne, Tomlinson, Horan and Styles have barely mentioned him since. Recently, however, they re-followed him, and Payne has teased that a One Direction reunion is on the cards.
So: might 2021 be the year of resurrection?
“I thought you were going to ask something juicier!” say Tomlinson witheringly. “Look, I f______ love One Direction. I'm sure we're going to come back together one day, and I'll be doing a couple of One Direction songs in my gig. I always do that, so that's not alluding to any reunion or anything. But, I mean, look, I'm sure one day we'll get back together, because, you know, we were f______ great.”

I LOVE YOU 3000!
-PART 48
After Harry, Niall and Taylor arrived at LAX, they stopped for a little to take pictures with the excited fans who'd spotted them on the airport. The management had arranged for their transport to the hotel and soon enough, they were fetched by cars sent by their teams.
Louis arrived a few hours later, with Zayn and Liam. He was among the set of hosts for the red carpet of Academy Awards as was Niall, Zayn had an invitation from both Harry and Taylor's teams, having designed both their outfits for the evening and the movie for which Liam was the music producer was nominated. They were greeted by enthusiastic fans too but managed to get out of the airport quickly.
And thankfully for everyone, Harry and Louis were staying at different places.

93rd Academy Awards
Situated at the heart of Hollywood, the red carpet is a very intricate program. The 500 feet long red carpet was adorned with artists, photographers and interviewers. Bleachers had been set up on one side of it which contained hundreds of enthusiastic fans who'd come across from different countries to have a glimpse of the glam event.
Stepping out of the limousine with Taylor, Harry tried ro calm his frantic heartbeats. It would be unwise to lose his cool in front of hundred cameras and so many highly esteemed artists and a certain someone.
He was clad in a striped red and dark blue suit and beside him, Taylor in a gorgeous body con dress. Zayn knew perfectly well what would suit the two of them. Harry nervously ran his fingers through his hair, which had grown out a bit and curled beautifully at the ends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Numerous flashes went off as they made their way across together and the fans cheered and waved. Soon they were led to separate section which was roped off from the entrance ; the nominees were to be interviewed before they entered the building. Harry's heart skipped a beat as the air carried a voice with heavy northern accent, a voice he knew so well. Taylor had heard it too and to his utter horror, started leading them towards the voice. As they made their way through the crowd of people, he spotted Louis, having an animated conversation with Robert Downey Jr. He'd been nominated for his movie Dolittle. Louis looked so happy that Harry stopped dead in his tracks. He was seeing Louis laugh after a long time and he certainly didn't want to go stand in front of him and wipe it away.
Much to his reluctance, Taylor held his arm and walked over to Louis. Louis smiled heartily at Taylor and as soon as he spotted Harry beside her, his smile vanished, just as Harry had feared. Little did Harry know, that it took everything in Louis' power to hold his ground and not stupidly smile at Harry. Louis had been wondering for the past few days if he had indeed been hard on Harry and whether or not it was just a misunderstanding, but seeing him with Taylor again, sort of brought him back to square one.
"Hi," Taylor beamed.
"Hey Taylor, good to see you," Louis replied, looking around, possibly for Roman or somebody else to rescue him.
"Looking good," Taylor said with a smirk.
"Haha thanks," Louis blushed, "you look gorgeous."
"Thank you Louis. Are we on camera yet?"
"No, just one moment, someone will be here."
Louis was obviously confused at Taylor and Harry being in front of him. Had the list been changed? Why didn't anyone tell him? And WHAT are the odds of him getting the interview he dreaded.
In a few seconds a cameraman arrived and just when Louis was supposed to start, Roman appeared out of nowhere.
"Good lord, where have you been?" Louis asked.
"Sorry, something urgent came up," Roman replied and then turning to Taylor he said, "So Taylor, we have a special fan who has journeyed for 32 hours to see you. Would you like to meet her?"
"Why of course! Lead the way."
Harry made to join Taylor, but she just turned around and said, "I'll be back," leaving Harry with Louis and the cameraman, who was ready to start recording.
Seeing no way out, Louis decided to get it over with as soon as possible.
"So Harry," he started with an unusually high pitched voice. He cleared his throat and resumed, "this is your first time at the Academy Awards. How does it feel?"
Harry hadn't spoken even once when Taylor and Louis were talking. His voice seemed to have died away in his throat. At that moment, he just wanted to hug Louis and apologize. With great difficulty he regained his composure and replied, "I'm nervous obviously and also very excited. It's not everyday that I get to be in the same room with so many special people."
"Speaking of special people, it's really wonderful that both you and Taylor got nominated and it would be double the celebration if both of you won tonight."
Harry could feel the edge in Louis' voice, and tried to push back the pang of sadness that was rising in his stomach.
"Yeah, definitely, I do hope both of us win."
"Well then good luck."
Harry smiled and stepped back from Louis, and instantly Taylor arrived again and took his arm as they made their way inside.
After an hour more of interviews, Louis found his way inside to where Zayn and Liam were sitting. They had arrived with him before the red carpet event began. Zayn noticed how flustered Louis looked and understood what the reason could have been.
"You okay Lou?"
"Yeah I'm fine."
"You don't look so good."
"It was very warm outside, I'm tired."
"Sure there isn't anything else?"
"No."
Before Zayn could press further, the lights dimmed out and the voice of the host boomed through the speakers,
"Welcome to the 93rd Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.."
Harry wasn't sitting that far and Louis had to force himself to look straight ahead. He wouldn't let his eyes stray to where Harry was sitting with his girlfriend. Harry on the other hand, couldn't help but steal glances every once in a while at Louis' direction.
The ceremony proceeded pleasantly, other than the prickling sensation Louis was having, a feeling of being watched, everything was good and soon it was time for Harry's category.
"The next award is for the Best Actor and I'd like to call Leonardo DiCaprio on the stage to present it."
Louis stiffened. He was sure Harry was super nervous. He'd wanted to win this so badly.
With as much subtlety he could muster, he looked at Harry's direction, hoping to catch his eyes and at that very moment, Harry looked at him too, brows slightly furrowed with anticipation. He gave a little nod in Harry's direction and hoped that Harry understood him ; that he was proud of Harry no matter what.
Both of them looked away at Leo DiCaprio's voice booming through the speakers, "and the Academy Award for best actor goes to-"
Silence filled the hall and Harry could only hear the sound of his heart hammering in his chest. Louis' acknowledgement had been a comfort, but nothing had prepared him for this moment.
"--Harry Styles!"
The hall erupted in a roar of applause and cheers and Harry nervously stood up. After hugging Taylor and Niall and glancing once at Louis' direction, he made his way to the stage.
Harry had always been a shy person and currently a hall full of people, looking at his direction didn't make it easy for him. His heart was racing, given the adrenaline rush and he couldn't stop smiling. He was given the microphone to give a speech, but he just couldn't think of anything proper to say.
As the applause subsided, he started,
"Thank you so so much for the award. When I was working on the movie, I certainly didn't realise that we would come this far. My Policeman is an important movie and I feel lucky that I was chosen for it. Thanks to my director and my entire team who guided me throughout. Thanks to my family, currently watching me from home, who always supported me in everything and thanks to my loved ones for always wishing the best for me."
He let his eyes linger on Louis as he said this and a second later, the hall echoed with claps again.
The next category was for Best Actress and as expected, Taylor Swift bagged it. Confidence radiated from every inch of her face as she took the microphone for her speech.
"Wow, I wasn't expecting this, and was really nervous about it, even though my friend told me that I ought not to because this is like my 100th Oscar."
She air quoted the last word and winked at Harry as the people around laughed. "But thanks to the people who supported me through out the years and got me where I am today. I would be nowhere without you guys. Love you all." The applause after her speech was deafening. She was truly an icon.
For the rest of the evening, it became increasingly difficult for Harry to sit still. He couldn't wait for it to get over so that he could talk to Louis. But these things are easier said than done. As soon as the ceremony was over, he was being dragged back to his limo, as they were supposed to go to the after party hosted by Jennifer Aniston. It was more like a get together really and if Harry tried, he could get away, but Taylor wouldn't let him.
"Louis is coming too," was all she had to say to make Harry voluntarily come with her. This time Zayn got in with them too and they stopped at Zayn's studio for the change of outfits.

We have learned that Autumn Durald will serve as the cinematographer on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, replacing director Ryan Coogler’s long-time collaborator Rachel Morrison who shot the first film.
Autumn Durald most recently served as the cinematographer on all 6 episodes of Loki, and has received high praise from fans and critics alike for her fantastic visuals on the series so far. Michael Waldron serves as the head writer on Loki with Kate Herron directing all 6 episodes. Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Richard E. Grant, and Tara Strong all star in the series that will release its final two episodes every Wednesday until July 14.
Autumn Durald is also known for collaborating with Gia Coppola, shooting her directorial debut Palo Alto as well as her most recent film, Mainstream. Durald’s other cinematography credits include Emma Forrest’s Untogether, Max Minghella’s Teen Spirit, and Ry Russo-Young’s The Sun Is Also A Star. She has also shot various music videos from high profile artists such as SZA, The Weeknd, and Travis Scott.
Autumn Durald takes over for Rachel Morrison, who reunited with Ryan Coogler on Black Panther after shooting his feature debut, Fruitvale Station. Morrison was seemingly set to return as the cinematographer for Wakanda Forever, however, scheduling conflicts with her upcoming directorial debut Flint Strong seemed to have made that reality an impossibility. In an interview earlier last year, Morrison already mentioned how COVID-19 delaying production on Flint Strong could result in her not being able to commit to the Black Panther sequel, she says “If we had gone back in September, I think we could make it, but now it’s a bit of a moment of truth for everyone to realize if my movie is definitely going back in January that I probably won’t be able to do [Wakanda Forever] which is devastating to me.”
It has been previously reported that the production team behind Black Panther: Wakanda Forever could be significantly different from the previous entry with the rumored addition of Queen of Katwe and Guava Island costume designer Mobolaji Dawodu, rather than Ruth E. Carter who won a long- overdue Academy Award for Best Costume Design on the first film. That being said, Hannah Beachler, who won an Academy Award for Best Production Design on the first Black Panther, is said to be returning for the sequel.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever just begun production this week, with Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, and Martin Freeman all set to reprise their respective roles. Tenoch Huerta has been cast in the sequel, his recent credits include Narcos: Mexico and The Forever Purge, which releases later this week. It was also reported earlier this month by The Illuminerdi that Huerta will be taking on the pivotal role of Namor the Submariner in the sequel, the rest of the new cast additions are currently unknown.
Kevin Feige and Ryan Coogler have confirmed that they will not recast the role of T’Challa in the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman following a private, four-year battle with colon cancer. Coogler recently talked with The Hollywood Reporter about moving forward with developing the Black Panther sequel without Chadwick Boseman, “You’ve got to keep going when you lose loved ones. I know Chad wouldn’t have wanted us to stop. He was somebody who was so about the collective. ‘Black Panther’, that was his movie. He was hired to play that role before anybody else was even thought of, before I was hired, before any of the actresses were hired. On that set, he was all about everybody else. Even though he was going through what he was going through, he was checking in on them, making sure they were good. If we cut his coverage, he would stick around and read lines off camera [to help other actors with their performances]. So it would be harder for me to stop. Truthfully. I’d feel him yelling at me, like, ‘What are you doing?’ So you keep going.”
At the Black Widow world premiere fan event earlier this week, Kevin Feige spoke about the commencement of production on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, saying “It’s clearly very emotional without Chad. But everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.”
Ryan Coogler returns as director for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and has also signed a 5-year exclusive television deal through his production company, Proximity Media, to develop a range of television projects for Disney’s various networks and streaming outlets including ABC, Hulu, and Disney+. One of these projects includes an untitled Wakanda series for Disney+ which Coogler said that they “are especially excited that we will be taking our first leap with Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and their partners at Marvel Studios where we will be working closely with them on select MCU shows for Disney+.”
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever releases in theaters July 8, 2022

It' SO annoying when Louis is the one who went to Nialls first solo tour to support but Niall doesn't care about that I really hope Louis stops showing any kind of support to Niall and Liam
Yeah, sorry, but I hope Louis never supports any of the boys publicly again. I can’t even be happy about Niall being at Harry’s show because I find it so sad that Louis, who has dealt with the largest obstacles in terms of going solo in the first place and has been consistently pushed aside by the media, by other celebrities, by his own team and label....that none of the boys are willing to publicly support him. (And no, going to TXF six years ago doesn’t count.)
Louis has praised Harry repeatedly. In contrast, Harry has said Louis’ name once since going solo during a joke on SNL. Harry has never said a positive thing or even so much as liked a post complimenting Louis or his music. Harry, who is by far the most famous of the bunch, could do so much for Louis by even just saying something nice about him, but he doesn’t.
Louis attended Niall’s tour. Niall was in London when Louis played in London, yet didn’t bother attending. He could show up to Harry’s show though!
Even Liam, who talks about Louis incessantly in interviews (to the point where Louis told him to stop), almost never says anything positive about his solo music or career. He talks about him overcoming personal problems and talks about how much of a leader he was in the band, but that’s about it.
Zayn, like Harry, won’t even follow Louis back on Instagram.
I love One Direction and I loved all the boys, but man, it is fucking hard to watch the way that Louis is treated and ignored and it is hard not to feel bitter about it. He has a heart of gold and has nothing but nice things to say about all of them and he has overcome SO much with his solo career, so the fact that nobody seems to want to lift a finger to support him in return hurts. It hurts to watch as a fan and as someone who can just see how unequal the treatment is. I’m sorry, but he deserves so much better from the other boys.
And I don’t care how much they support him in private. That’s nice if it’s happening, but when public support would mean so much to Louis and probably shut up some of the hatred for him from the other boys’ fanbases, the fact that they never do it is still unacceptable to me.

Speculating about sexuality
Tumblr media
It’s time to get a little controversial on this blog. Or at least talk about a controversial subject. I’ve recently seen some fandom discourse about this subject from multiple sources. A lot of people have the opinion that discussing a celebrity’s sexuality is a bad thing, something you shouldn’t do. I strongly disagree.
Full disclosure, I’m a Larrie. I’m a 1D fan who believes Harry and Louis are a couple. I’m also a 5SOS fan. Now I know many 5SOS fans seem to be wary of Larries in particular. I know some people have taken it too far sometimes. But also, it’s hard to compare Larry/1D to 5SOS in many ways, because Larry and 1D themselves have done a lot of things to encourage fans looking into things they normally might not. It feels to me as if 5SOS fans saw the things that happened in the 1D fandom, turned around and decided to do the exact opposite. This is a good thing in some ways, but it also leaves no room for critical thinking.
Now back to 5SOS. I’ve had a few conversations about this topic and what it comes down to is this. 5SOS are famous, they live a life that’s (partially) being seen by the public and the media. Now this will sound cold, but it’s a fact: 5SOS are a product. When we interact with them on social media, we interact with a product. In the end they want to keep selling their music to us. In order to do so, engaging with fans is part of their job. It doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy it, it doesn’t mean they’re not genuine. If you work in a supermarket part of your job may be stocking shelves. You have to do it because it’s your job, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it as well.
Part of the product that is 5SOS is their relationships. We see their girlfriends plastered over their social media, they mention them in interviews, etc. That’s not something they HAVE to do generally speaking. If we are to assume that (for argument’s sake) all 3 current 5SOS relationships are genuine, then they don’t have to show us their girlfriends if they don’t want to. This means they either choose to do so, because that’s what they want, or these girlfriends are being presented to us for a reason (PR, bearding, etc.). Which of these it is, is for you to decide. Both options make them become part of the product. We are allowed to question that product, since we are the ones consuming it. If the person in question has made comments that can be regarded as them hinting at not being straight they open the door even further. You cannot tell someone to come over and then slam the door in their face because they get too close.
If 5SOS want to they can keep their relationships private. Their social media profiles are not the same as ours. They are a representation of the product they are. A representation of their image. That’s why celebrities often have private profiles as well, where they can share private things that they don’t want to share with the public.
The 5SOS girlfriends themselves are a product as well. They all have careers that involve being in the public eye, they are just as well selling us a version of themselves. 2 public people dating does not mean we automatically HAVE to see that they are dating. Celebrities can keep things a secret or low-key if they want to. In fact, I’d dare to argue they have more tools to do so than you and I.
You can look at it like this, if I’m buying a laptop I’m doing research online, I’ll check out reviews. I’ll ask questions at the store. I question the product before I buy it. That’s not that different from what we do as fans. Before we buy their music we question if this is a product we want to buy. Most of the time that’s an unconscious decision we make. Sometimes a product can becomes unsatisfactory after a while and we choose to move on from it. I know it sounds cold, but it’s not that different with celebrities. If 5SOS keep showing me their public girlfriends on their public social media, I get to question that. If I come to the conclusion that I think that what they are telling me is false. I get to discuss that. Being a fan does not equal always taking things at face value.
There’s also a double standard in this fandom. Some people are more than willing to yell about how problematic and toxic the girlfriends are in their opinion. Which means they are allowed to poke into (what they think is) a real relationship between 2 people. When Luke says Teeth is about Sierra, they question his words and don’t hesitate to say their relationship is toxic. But when it comes to sexuality suddenly that’s a no go. I am absolutely not a fan of the way some of the way girlfriends behave. As long as this happens in a fandom environment I am also fine with talking about that. But if you disapprove of one thing and then do something similar, maybe it’s time you start practicing what you preach or leave people to have their own opinions.
This doesn’t mean you should tell the guys directly that you think their relationship is not real or that you think they are not straight. You don’t harass their friends, their crew, and their family about this. Discussing a celebrity’s sexuality/relationship should stay limited to fandom spaces. With social media it’s a lot easier for celebrities to see what we say about them. Therefor I always suggest being mindful of what you say (they may be a product, but they are still people). Personally it’s why I enjoy Tumblr, because most celebrities don’t go on here and (most of the time) we can safely discuss things that are more difficult to discuss in a place like Twitter. I will say, just because we are questioning a product, it doesn’t mean we get to be rude in the process. You generally don’t go to the store and start yelling at the salesperson if you don’t agree with what they tell you.
People seem to think it’s disrespectful to say someone is gay. Why? Is there anything wrong with being gay? Absolutely not. We live in a society that’s very heteronormative, being straight is seen as the “default” sexuality. It should not be. If you’re going to argue that it’s disrespectful to say someone is gay, then please also don’t assume they are straight. You can have personal thoughts, sure. I have personal thoughts on the specific sexuality of the guys in 5SOS as well. But I keep in mind that my personal thoughts aren’t a fact. I could be wrong. So unless someone has specifically stated their sexuality it’s best to not assume anything and keep an open mind.
Then finally I want to briefly touch on a topic that goes hand in hand with what I’ve talked about: shipping. Some people have a problem with shipping when it comes to real people. For some people shipping is just enjoying the idea of 2 people together even if you think they aren’t. While other people truly believe in that relationship. There’s nothing wrong with any of that as long as it doesn’t become invasive. It all comes back to what I’ve said before. We are consuming a product. The relationships between the 5SOS guys are a huge part of that product. The chemistry between them is part of why we love them. I’m not saying they are pretending to like each other. I fully believe their chemistry is genuine, but it does help sell the product. It also means that sometimes the guys/their team plays into that chemistry to sell the product.
They guys should not have a problem with fans shipping them together, because it’s not up to them to decide that. They sell us their relationships, so we get to form opinions about that. If we stay in our own fandom space and do not become invasive by showing them or people around them fandom content (fics, headcanons, manips, etc.). Then they should not come into our spaces and invade stuff we enjoy in that space. I get super uncomfortable whenever I see celebrities reading fanfiction or being read fanfiction. Fanfiction about them is not for them. It’s made for fans to enjoy and they should stay away from that. I want to encourage you to go and read this answer* about shipping real people. Because sometimes other people’s words say it better than my own words ever could.
With that we have reached the end of this post. As usual I am always open to discuss this in an adult manner. If you feel like you have anything to add to this discussion, feel free to send me an ask/dm. Or reply to this post. If you like/agree with what I write I would love it if you reblogged this post. That’s the only way more people can see it. My blog is small, so reblogs are very much needed to keep the discussion going. Don’t think of coming in my inbox and yelling at me how everything I said is wrong and bad and awful, because it is only going to get you blocked. If you don’t agree, that’s fine, but I’m not going to tolerate any hate.
Finally, just because you are allowed to speculate and question whatever 5SOS or any other celebrity/influencer tells you, doesn’t mean you have to. If that’s not your cup of tea, then that is more than fine. The reason I wrote this post is because we need to stop making people who think critically about the things they are being told, feel guilty about what they do.
* Please note that the author of this post does not have anything to do with what has been written in this post. If you have a problem with anything in this post, please direct it to me and not them.

Back in December, a month before Louis Tomlinson’s debut album Walls was released, I had the honor to attend one of his album release parties in Atlanta, Georgia.
I expected my year to go differently: to travel across the country to attend several Louis shows. Little did I know sitting in the local bar in Atlanta it would be the last time I would see the musician who changed my life for the foreseeable future.
Even though nine months have passed, I can still say it was one of the greatest days of my life.
The three-hour drive to Georgia felt like five, but once the Atlanta skyline appeared over the Interstate, my mind filled with anticipation and excitement knowing I would hug Louis in near hours and hear Walls for the first time. Being in a bar with Louis just hanging out with only a few selected fans seemed unfathomable. We checked into our downtown hotel, which was paid for by Sony, and got ready with only a few hours to spare.
Once the Uber dropped us off at the bar, reality hit me. I would be in close proximity inside with the artist who shaped and saved my life — and I just wanted to remember it forever. I wanted to stay frozen in this moment. As we waited outside, the radio host, Adam Bomb, handed us papers to write our questions on. He reminded us to keep the questions respectful and music-centered if we wanted them to be considered. My question was, “I know songwriting is the major part of the album process for you. Can you talk a little bit about your songwriting process?” It wasn’t asked, but one of Bomb’s questions was about his writing process.
Fifteen long minutes waiting outside in the cold, and we were inside. The radio station confiscated our phones at the door to protect Louis’s unreleased music. A couple of tables surrounded a high chair, where Louis would sit for the interview.
My friends and I sat at a table straight across from the chair with a clear view of Louis. Adam Bomb sat in the chair next to Louis’s, and he flipped through the cue cards for preparation of the exclusive event.
“Please welcome to the room, Louis Tomlinson!”
Louis, dressed in a black sweater, jeans, and the usual sneaker, walked out from a curtain in the corner of the room. Smiley and waving, he admired the small room of fans who cheered and shouted for his entrance.
He sat in his chair, inches from where my friends and I sat, smiling occasionally at our table. Adam asked Louis a couple questions about the album (I can’t even recall what because I sat there in silent awe admiring him). It was the happiest I ever felt. It was an out-of-body experience where I wanted to pinch myself to wake up. I just couldn’t believe this was real.
As Louis exited the room, Adam talked to the crowd about how special and exclusive it is for us to hear songs from an unreleased album. He reminded us to be respectful and to enjoy Louis’s hard work.
The first track played. “Too Young.”
The audio was extremely quiet, and Louis shouted from behind the curtain, “Oi! Turn it up!” We all laughed, and Bomb turned up the volume letting the poetic words be heard. The room was silent with everyone intensely listening to the love song. I sat with my jaw open, and tears immediately filled my eyes. I couldn’t believe Louis wrote something so poetic and purposeful. Immediately, I knew this album would be better than anyone expected.
Louis’s photographer, along with the radio station’s, captured fans’ reactions and even recorded and photographed my friends and me from across the room. I felt so humiliated that my tears and freak-out with my friends were being documented, but one of the workers later told us our reactions made the room fun and she could tell how much he meant to us.
Later, a photo of me and my friends was plastered on Louis’s and the radio’s social media.
We listened to “Perfect Now” and “Walls” and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Louis peaking around the curtain wanting to see our reactions to his years of hard work. He signaled to his security guard to give us tissues and he came to our table and handed us napkins for our tears.
After we listened to the songs, Louis sat back down for the interview. He said it was a beautiful thing to see a reaction like that from fans after working so hard as a solo artist. It was evident he loved being in a room with fans, we mean so much to him and we make him extremely comfortable.
He talked about the tour and how he wanted to keep it authentic and intimate for the fans. Bomb asked about his Live Life Love show in Nashville days prior, which I attended, and when we clapped he laughed and said, “Yeah, yeah, you were there.” I couldn’t believe he remembered us from the meet-and-greet just days ago.
Bomb followed up with his joke and asked if he sees fans freak out on the front row, and then he pointed at us and said, “You’ve been front row, I know you have,” smiling and laughing at our shocked faces.

Bomb asked a couple of fan questions. Louis talked about his writing process, tour, and Walls. The interview was kept professional and exciting, which I appreciated.
After the interview, Bomb invited everyone to the front for a group selfie. Things became extremely intense when Louis was almost mobbed by fans who shoved chairs down to run up to him. Rylee, a fan Louis donated money to make her home accessible, was blocked by fans from coming to the front to be seen. At this exact moment, I knew I spent ten years of my life supporting the right person. He firmly asked the girls to move so Rylee could come to the front, and when they didn’t, he walked to the back and moved a chair out of her way so she was able to be seen in the photo. I wanted to sob when I saw him go out of his way for someone who has spent most of her life looked over. He truly has a heart of gold.
After the selfie, we lined up for the meet and greet with him. His smile was so contagious and he greeted every fan with a warm hug. He signed Donny jerseys and drew tattoos for fans, and as the line inched closer, my eyes filled with tears and my heart raced. Before I knew it, my friend was hugging Louis and he looked me up and down, arms wide open for a hug greeted with a huge smile. We talked briefly, I hugged him again, and I walked off. It’s hard to put into words, but his positive energy is contagious and hugging him feels like home. He’s such a special soul.
After I met him, they made us leave the bar, and my friends and I waited to wave him bye as he left. I wanted to have a tattoo drawn by him, but my anxious mind forgot. Maybe one day, though. My friends and I hung outside for a while and the radio team interviewed us for their social media.

To be in the room for such a special moment to share with an artist you’ve looked up to is truly the greatest feeling ever. I never want to forget how happy and excited I was during those thirty minutes. Leaving the party, I wanted to be able to listen to the songs over and over — but I couldn’t for another month. Being one of only a handful of people who heard Walls before its release was so special yet so tough at the same time. It was hard to keep everything to myself and not leak spoilers, but I knew I had to do it for Louis. I wrote down lyrics and everything I could remember from the album to cherish until Walls was released.
My closest friends were able to join me on this once in a lifetime journey, and here’s what they had to say about the experience.
What was your favorite moment from the party?
Caitlin: My favorite moment was telling him that I would see him four times on tour. His response was, “Thank you, love,” and he looked so happy when I told him that.
Bri: My favorite moment from the listening party is whenever we took the group picture with Louis! He realized this little girl named Rylee wasn’t anywhere near and went out of his way to go help her get into the picture. He ended up putting her in the front with him and that just warmed my heart to the max.
Makayley: My favorite moment from the party was definitely hugging him and watching him interact with Rylee, but I also loved listening to the songs with everyone and the excitement of it all.
How did you react when you found out you won?
Caitlin: It was super last minute when I found out I was able to go. I was super excited because I have always wanted to attend a listening party.
Bri: When I found out I won passes to the listening party, my mind went everywhere! I was crying, shaking, screaming, and panicking. I was the last winner, the last hour. It was CRAZY!
Makayley: I had a panic attack in math class and um thirty minutes later (oops)
What was your favorite song from the three we heard?
Caitlin: My favorite song was “Perfect Now.” Something about it put me in the feels.
Bri: My favorite song out of the three we listened to has to be “Perfect Now.” The lyrics spoke to my soul. Especially the lyric that said, “Keep your head up, love.” Just due to the fact, I’ve gone through some difficult times in life and just hearing that sent me into orbit. I was crying a lot at first but then went into a place of peace and happiness.
Makayley: “Walls” definitely.
What was your initial reaction from the songs?
Caitlin: I was really impressed with the lyrics. Being able to listen to those songs for the first time was super special. I thought the sound was definitely in his lane.
Bri: I could not just have one reaction to the songs we heard. I was happy, sad, surprised, a random emotion you can’t even describe.
Makayley: I was just really proud knowing how hard he had worked on it and how far he’s come.
Did Louis answer your question? What was his response
Caitlin: Louis did answer my question about which song off the album are you most excited to play on tour to which he responded, “Probably ‘Kill My Mind.’”
Bri: No, Louis did NOT answer my question but I was happy with the ones that did get answered.
Makayley: No.
Do you wish they did anything differently about the party?
Caitlin: I wish they would have allowed us more time to talk and spend with him. the meet and greet was rushed I think. but overall it was a fun experience.
Bri: Absolutely not. It was fine as it was. So close together, we all understood each other, etc.. It was amazing!
Makayley: No, I liked the way it was very chilled out and in the setting, it was (my only problem was with the accessibility of it).
What was meeting Louis like for you?
Caitlin: Super special. it was so nice to get to say hi to him and just tell him how much I love him and couldn’t wait to see his tour.
Bri: Meeting Louis was anxiety-filled. It was my first time ever meeting one of the people I look up to. Overall, it was an amazing experience. Louis was the sweetest and most genuine person ever!
Makayley: Meeting Louis was definitely a monumental moment as for all he had helped Rylee and myself with. But, hugging him definitely got me through a rough patch, and the feeling that the hug gave me still helps me to this day.
