Bryce felt pretty good. Music drifted through the air from Levi's guitar, and he was grilling his signature BBQ ribs. What more, he was in the company of his favourite people: his beautiful wife, sister, and best mate. "I still can't get used to this, I'm a grandad!" Bryce laughed heartily at the table while the parents engaged in animated chatter about their kids. Soon they were gushing over photos of Renee, Robbie, Kiana and of course the twins. "Honey, two more weeks and we'll meet the twins!" Leilani kissed her husband and smiled from ear to ear. They couldn't wait for the day to come!

Surprise @duusheen and @estah!!! I'm sorry that these guys have not appeared in my posts for a whole freakin year 😱 (esp Bryce and Leilani TERRIBLE IK!!!). I've slowed down my legacy for storytelling and once you move on a gen, the previous ones don't feature as much 🤧 I'm trying to include more sims that are relevant (e.g Uncle Billy 🫡) but unfortunately not everyone is involved. really taken with how Louis is the only one of his siblings without a religiously coded name. Paul as in the apostle, constantly talking about what the Lord wants and trying to guide Louis in the right direction through his preaching. Grace as in the freely given, pure love and forgiveness offered by God, the sweet sound that can save any sinner. Louis loses Paul and then he loves the Devil, forever turning his back on Grace.

heads up, gaypiratedivorce over on ao3 put together a full canon timeline for iwtv - link here - which has been a fantastic resource for writing fic.

unfortunately, it has also shown me i'm a dumb dumb and got grace's age wildly wrong, which is not a big thing overall except that the fic i'm writing was built on my incorrect assumption and i'm 12k in. so i guessed she was like, twenty-five-ish at her wedding?? anyway i came to this conclusion from the age of her actress (thirty at time of filming), paul and louis' given ages (thirty and thirty-three in 1910/11) and morgan's comment in 2x01 about her being 'about sixty now' in a thirty-five year old photo from her wedding in 1944 -- but no. going by the comment that louis missed her thirtieth birthday during florence's 1923 wake, she was likely about EIGHTEEN in 1911.

why, i hear you cry, is this a big deal to me? bc it means that levi proposed, at the absolute oldest, to SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD and that's why he didn't ask florence's permission to propose. he's not only useless and an asshole, he's also creepy as hell!! and Paul Was So Right for all of this:
