America is like pre Revolution France

*disclaimer: the numbers for America aren’t accurate but this is an analogy. This is what’s happening in America.

The bourgeoisie (the clergy, the first estate, whatever you want to call them) in France were the top 1% of the population. They were nobles who lived with king Louie XVI in the Palace of Versailles. They paid no taxes and didn’t work.

The top 1% of Americans do not work. Not really. They barely pay taxes, and more often than not, evade them with little to no cost to them. They live grouped together away from everyone else.

The second estate (the nobility) was composed of the top 2 and 3% of the population. They ran the estates that the third and bottom class lived and worked on. They didn’t pay taxes either. They lived in a manor house of sorts while the rest of the people lived in a small village around them.

The top 2 and 3% of Americans are in a similar position. They make sure everything is up and running for the first estate and nothing more. Their taxes don’t effect their state of living. These people usually live near the bottom 97%, but are still distinguishable by their money.

The bottom 97% (the third estate) in France paid all the taxes, did all the labor, and cared for the top 3%. They lived in poverty while the top 3% lived almost as well as the king. They worked so the top 3% didn’t have to. And they suffered from it.

The bottom 97% of people in America are effected by the taxes they pay. They don’t get to live in nice houses or have extra money to throw around because they are always working.

If laws weren’t in place to make sure that the top 3% in America payed taxes, they wouldn’t. And some don’t. And when they get caught, it doesn’t really matter because laws are only laws for those who can’t pay their way out of it.

If America doesn’t fix something soon, there will be another American Revolution. And this time it will be like a civil war. Every Revolution starts the same way. And the signs are there for another one to start.

So please. Vote for people that want free healthcare. Vote for people that raise minimum wage. Vote for people that care about the people. Or else we will end up like France. Or Russia. Or Haiti. Or dozens of other places that have had Revolutions.

And keep this in mind- this is not an attack on the rich. This is simply stating facts.

If there is a revolution, good luck. You’ll need it.
