CBI raids Mahua, why?
Mahua Moitra, who was leading the vociferous charge against Industrialist Gautam Adani in Parliament, took the burnt when BJPMP Nishikant Dubey wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla alleging thatthe former MPreceived luxury items andholidays from Dubai-based businessman Darshan Hiranandaniin exchange for raising questions in the Lok Sabha.
Mahua Moitra a corruption crusader against Adani has now become themascot of corruption herself, thanks to the revelation of her jilted lover Jai Anant Dehadrai.
CBI Enquiry Report stated that Mahua Moitra had compromised her parliamentary privileges by sharing her login credential of Lok Sabha Member Portal with Hiranandani, who by using her username and password posted questions on the Government. This was done while she was travelling abroad.
The immediate motive
Moitra is a firebrand TMC MP who on returning to parliament could bebigger danger for the ruling dispensation in the new Lok Sabha.
In the event of a surprise win for INDIA coalition she could emerge as the star parliamentarian.
Mahua has more beans to spill, to prevent her from getting into overdrive with expose.
Mahua's version on CBI raid
Mahua Moitra alleged that the CBI had "deliberately" chosen to conduct consecutive raids onwith the "sole intention" of hindering her campaign process and creating a "negative perception" about her in the run up to polls.
She urged the Election Commission to issue appropriate guidelines and create a framework vis-a-vis the conduct of investigation by central agencies during the period of the Model Code of Conduct.
She approves CBI investigations but questioned the timing and methodology which indicate political vendetta.
In the milieu, where is real estate titan Hiranandani?
Still cosying up at his Dubai home, Hiranandani has been named in the CBI chargesheet.
Knowing the proximity of the real estate tycoon with the BJP,it was unexpected that Hiranandani would be named as an accused instead of an approved.
BJP will take a que from the CBI naming Hiranandani as accused and claim its neutrality towards negotiation.
Hiranandani if arrested will give ammunition to BJP spokesperson to defend its corporate-political neutrality.

UP Congress Plans Extensive Dalit Outreach Ahead of 2027 Assembly Polls
Following its success in regaining a significant portion of the Dalit vote in Uttar Pradesh, the Congress has launched an extensive outreach campaign to solidify this support for the 2027 Assembly elections. The party’s first focus is Gorakhpur, the home turf of UP CM Yogi Adityanath.
Reconnecting with the Dalit Community
The Congress aims to strengthen its ties with the Dalit community through special membership drives, identifying influential Dalit figures in each Assembly constituency, and organizing division-level “sammelans” and district-level “Dalit chaupals” to address community issues.
Detailed Outreach Plan
At a recent high-level meeting at the state Congress headquarters in Lucknow, a detailed 15-day program was crafted with input from prominent Dalit leaders across the state. Although not officially announced, the first four sammelans are proposed for Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, and Meerut.
Leadership and Support
Alok Prasad, head of the UP Congress’s Scheduled Caste (SC) department, emphasized the party’s commitment to the Dalit community. “Dalits have traditionally been our supporters but drifted away over time. However, they supported us in the recent elections. It’s now our responsibility to listen to their issues and find solutions,” he said.
Action Plan
Starting in Gorakhpur, the Congress will launch a membership drive to enroll at least 1,000 prominent Dalit faces from each Assembly segment. In coordination with district units, “Dalit chaupals” will be held fortnightly in Dalit-dominated areas.
Strengthening the Organization
The Congress plans to assign new responsibilities to prominent Dalit leaders within the organization to strengthen its SC unit at the grassroots level. The outreach also aims to engage professionals from the community, such as doctors and teachers, to address their issues.
Political Strategy
The Congress’s strategy includes promoting Dalit leaders within the INDIA bloc, such as supporting Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad for the role of Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker. This move aims to highlight the coalition’s commitment to Dalit leadership, especially in regions with significant Pasi Dalit populations.
Impact on BJP
According to internal BJP reviews, the shift of Dalit votes to the SP-Congress alliance has significantly impacted their performance. Approximately 6% of the BSP’s core Jatav Dalit votes shifted to the INDIA alliance, helping the Opposition coalition in the elections.

Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia digs on Congress, asks not to jump unnecessarily
On Monday, Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia made fun of Congress party for comparing the results of its last three elections with Bhartiya Janta Party’s results in the polls and said that the joy that the Grand old party is celebrating is uncalled for and they are ‘jumping unnecessarily.’
The comment from Scindia came after there was a heavy response from the opposition on the first day of the 18th Lok Sabha session about different issues which included BJP leader Bhartruhari Mahtab being appointed as the pro-tem Speaker, the relocation of other statues in the parliament building and the said irregularities in the NEET exam.
Talking to a news agency Scindia said, “The people who are jumping unnecessarily after winning 99 seats (in the Lok Sabha election) need to understand that their combined total seats in the last three elections stand less than the BJP's seats in 2024. Count their 99 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, count their 56 seats in 2019, and add their 42 seats in 2014; even after this, they have got less than 240 seats.”
INDIA Bloc secured 234 seats in the recent Lok Sabha Elections while Congress secured over 99 seats. With 240 seats. Though BJP appeared as a single winning party it was unable to reach the mark of 272 seats which is required to form the government. This also made BJP to rely on other parties for support.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sworn in after he got support from the allies to form a government.
Scindia commended PM Modi for his leadership and said, “This is the first time in 75 years that something like this has happened. PM Narendra Modi has set an unprecedented benchmark... We have full faith that India will further grow on the global stage under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi.”
