"come off it, you know i'd die for you" makes me go absolutely bonkers whenever i read it but. how is it just now sinking in that that's the moment it Properly Clicked for lucy that she had to leave. she'd just seen the fetch wearing lockwood's face who told her that lockwood was going to die for her and then lockwood saves the day but literally confirms exACTLY WHAT THE FETCH SAID??? STRAIGHT TO HER FACE???? that would be so much for her to take in at once i need to go sit down.

i had genuinely been so consumed by that one line that i didn't make that connection despite it being SO BLATANT. i am ill.

Okay so I’ve seen the “Lockwood: is in love” post about the Annabel Ward possession and while I found it funny and accurate as hell, I just rewatched it and.

Lockwood was trying to get Lucy OFF of him the whole time. He knew she was possessed and he wanted nothing to do with it. Make no mistake, he definitely has heart eyes, but he also looks extremely sad and conflicted. Wake up babe, new consent king just dropped.

Hey guys… do you think that if we get season two of Lockwood and Co. the way that they’ll give us the backstory on the roomTM will be with Lucy’s talents, or maybe George’s touch… casue I don’t think I am emotionally prepared for that.

Tbf knowing what’s in that room, and knowing that we are going to get a full scene of it- with Lockwood’s explanation and everything is already going to hurt but like if we were to see it play out… damn

hc that during the months Lucy was gone, Holly would find Lockwood sleeping in Lucy's room while she cleaned in the mornings. His explanation to Holly, when she first found him curled up in a mass of blankets, was that it was his childhood room- which wasn't wrong. Also he's the owner the house so he could sleep wherever he pleased. Which increasingly happened to be Lucy's room. Holly didn't bother him every morning, just went in to dust off the furniture or make the bed if it was empty, just in case Lucy decided to come back.

Bonus: When Lucy rejoins and takes up her old residence, she notices that her sheets smell familiar and calming but she can't quite place it.

One aspect they added that I enjoyed was Lucy calling out Lockwood’s vanity insofar as his jealousy at Lucy’s powerful Talent.

It’s always something I felt was missing from the books, given Lockwood takes the glory for himself all the time. Although in the books, Lucy doesn’t necessarily complain about this, but it’s a grey area. And it balances out with Lucy’s conflicting nature of wanting to make something of herself, but also her introverted personality which equally does not wish attention on her.

And this feeds into the delicious parallels between Lucy/Lockwood and Marissa/Tom - another thing I was always desperate to see in the books!

The only thing it sacrifices is some of Lucy’s moon-eyeing and idolising Lockwood; she is a little bit more disillusioned in this adaptation, which I don’t mind at all.
