Did this the other day and hadn't gotten to posting about it. About two years ago I built my new workbench, and installed a vice (original post under the break), then never went back and made a handle. Instead I was using whatever scrap I could find at the time. Now I have a nice handle!

The fun part is it's another piece built from wood off my land.

another one i’ve been fiddling with for ages but keep procrastinating on by researching minutiae.

it’s a pretty silly concept at face value—omegaverse, set during sid’s concussion where vyas recommends he work with a milk bank because colostrum has been shown to help repair brain tissue.

milk banks are pretty commonly used for athletes, and many contract a specific omega in the program to provide colostrum for them regularly because that allows them to request certain additives or supplements to be added to their milk supply.

sid is uncomfortable with it, but he’s at the stage of his concussion where he’s desperate and will try anything. he’s also nearly completely isolated himself at this point, so when a cute guy in tight scrubs and hello kitty sneakers shows up at his door with his milk delivery, it’s pretty easy for a friendship to develop.

He dug in the bag again, and pulled out what looked like a handful of beige discs. “Helps sometimes to drink from nipple.” He turned one around so Sid could see it. It was—that was a rubber nipple. It was shockingly lifelike, and Sid felt his face heat. “Some alpha find suckling very soothing. You can put on bottle like this.” He twisted the lid off one of the bottles, and removed a flat plastic piece from the center so he could push the rubber nipple through the opening.

“I don’t think—I’ll probably just drink it uh, normally,” Sid said quickly. He couldn’t make himself look at the nipple. He felt like he was going to be sick.

Geno shrugged easily. “I leave just in case.” He gathered the bottles and turned to put them in the fridge, and something about the way he moved made Sid’s vision go blurry and the world shift a few degrees on its axis. When Geno turned back, it felt like he was farther away. “Okay, I leave my number, you call if you have question. If taste is bad or you want like, more sweet, more other taste, you tell me. I change supplements—Sid, you okay?”

“I. Sorry but I’ve gotta—” His ears were ringing. He turned slowly on legs that felt like jelly and took a single step toward the hallway back to his temporary bedroom before stumbling. He braced himself for the pain of his knees hitting the hardwood, but instead he was steadied by a pair of big hands. “Sorry,” Sid said weakly. He felt like crying. This was so stupid.

My partner, who I chose out of all the humans I have ever met, is a dingus. To be fair, so am I on occasion.

On this occasion, it was somehow missed that this food item contains artificial sweetners right through the selection and purchase and (like a loving partner) fixing our morning coffees while I prepared the child for school. I had been told the night before that "I found some mint coffee creamer" since we seem to be bored of cinnamon spice blends after all the stress baking I've done recently.

The lable is incorrect, this is not mint mocha. This flavor is Chemical Lab.

It was only after taking a sip that it was discovered. Look, I don't go organic locally sourced for everything, but in certain cases it is important. I'm not even sure this chemically altered vegetable oil emulsion was made from real chemicals. They synthesized this stuff from exotic matter using an eldritch ritual.

Apple Festival

I know i've said this before, but this is my favorite time of year. Today, I am going to the festival at a nearby Apple Orchard. There are so many homemade goodies: apple pies, apple turnovers, apple cider, apple flavored wines, and so much more.

I always grab at least one pie and some turnovers to bring to the holiday get togethers. Makes life easier so I don't have to bake a bunch of shit. Not that I don't enjoy baking, it just becomes monotonous when I feel obligated to do it.

Anyways, I am excited. It's always a good time and I like spending money on locally sourced goods. 🍎
