Extra INFO for The Decade Of Joy(Reblogs are appreciated btw)

The Decade Of Joy takes place in 2005. Before it actually happened, Orphans were taken and escorted to the deeper levels of the facility so that they wouldn’t see or hear the carnage. During it, the Prototype tasked every toy with capturing EVERY adult in the facility, guilty or innocent and bringing them back to him ALIVE. Some people were killed in this process whether by accident or on purpose by a few toys but most of the adults had survived. As soon as all the adults were captured, The Prototype tasked catnap, The Smiling Critters and a few other toys with doing experiments on them immediately. Their BIGGEST experiment? Leith pierre. Afterwards, the Orphans were brought back up with little to no suspicion about what had happened besides a couple of curious looks and questions.

Yay finish this one! After finishing Connie I just gotta draw Lloyd cause the way that he is described really sounds found to me especially his oni dragon form! And also cause I seriously need to practice drawing guys like seriously the last time I drew a guy was in October and I think that doesn't quite seem fair since the guy was just an au version of MC that I've made and since he's a robot I took some liberties on not fully drawing the human anatomy so yeah, tho still cute mechanic boy tho.

Honestly I didn't go too crazy with the design and just drew Lloyd the way the fanfic described him which what I've listed is pale, tall, athletic body, pointed ears, fangs, freckles, scars, bright green eyes, and mussed styled blonde hair. Honestly if I'm being honest I was just trying to give him a elven vampire look cause like come on just read the description Lloyd was given in the fic? Pointed eared fanged blond haired boy with green eyes that can also turn red AND purple? No wonder the reader of this fic is simping for him, he's basically a combo of fantasy elf prince and horror vampire lover and with her book loving heart she couldn't handle the amount of hotness he is! 乁⁠[⁠ᓀ⁠˵⁠▾⁠˵⁠ᓂ⁠]⁠ㄏ

And then for his ninja gi at first I wanted to draw Lloyd with his gi in the cover of the fanfic from Wattpad but I decided to add in elements from his gi in the sons of garmadon and took some liberties cause I couldn't draw the mask right cause I ended up making him look like a wrapped sausage with the first mask I drew him in, tho with this experience I now understand why most fanarts of the ninjas in Ninjago are them not wearing masks cause like those things are HARD to draw. Or maybe that's just me, seriously can someone confirm to me if I'm right for this cause like when I search up Ninjago fanarts most of them are the ninjas not wearing their masks ┐⁠(⁠ ⁠∵⁠ ⁠)⁠┌

The real fun was when I drew the oni dragon form! Tho I was working backwards with drawing Uchu first cause since he's described as the evolved version of Lloyd in his oni dragon form It was an easier process with making Uchu first cause if I made his final form then I can work out what it may look like in it's premature state! Tho I will say this even tho it's a fun experience drawing this it was NOT easy cause the description of this form is something. Uchu and Lloyd's horns are described like crowns on their head but with how it's described with Lloyd grabbing his front horn and also the two fronts of it being kissed but the horns also described as tiered with each set being longer then the others, I was seriously racking my head trying to figure out what it looks like and don't even get me started with Uchu's horns then being described as antler like this part seriously put dents in my brain (⁠~⁠_⁠~⁠;⁠) Tho luckily at the end i end up getting a design I like and with the horns design finish I just sorta made Uchu's form literally just more exaggerated and longer but trying my best to make it look regal the best I can. Tho I just made Uchu have super long braid cause I just thought it would be so cool that in his oni dragon form his hair grew longer which give him like a dragon looking tail braid and I thought it would be so cute Saisho braiding and brushing her hubby's hair. And I just gave Lloyd's oni dragon form not that exaggerated, long and darker and I was done! Tho I gotta admit I'm sad that I couldn't color his scales have that golden shine to them but sadly my yellow pen ink got covered too mush with the black colored pencil so there's nothing I could do about it, but besides that I'm happy with the results cause I honestly did not think I could do anatomy besides girls this well since I haven't practiced it a lot! ⊂⁠(⁠(⁠・⁠▽⁠・⁠)⁠)⁠⊃

Anyone else stuck thinking about the fact that Kai probably insisted on going back out to search for the others in spite of the horrors he’s experienced in order for Lloyd to not have to experience them?

That after everything, he was fueled by love for his family and it still fuels him?

That in spite of his powers being difficult to channel and the mask he’s putting on and how he won’t tell his little brother what’s wrong, he still chooses to go back out there and risk everything again?

Risk pain, risk being lost, risk being alone again… just so Lloyd wouldn’t have to experience what he went through? Wouldn’t be traumatized like he is?

One of the most annoying missed opportunitis in TGED in my opinion is the complete lack of a relationship between Javier and Marbella. Like yes Arcos was the one who saved him, but he has way more in common with Marbella. They were both commoners, they were both saved at a young age from absolutely abhorrent fates by Arcos, and most importantly, neither of them have no connection with their parents or any outside support system. (Javier's parents are dead, but we don't know what happened to Marbella's family/friends after the mercenaries sacked their village).

I just think it's really out of character for Marbella to see this kid her beloved husband brings home one day, whom she can see has witnessed the same horrors and born the same heartache as she at a far younger age, and not do everything in her power to help him? To track down recipes from his home region, to soothe him when he had nightmares, encourage him to make friends with Julian, and just overall hold his hand through everything as he adjusts to a world that is so alien compared to everything he's ever known.

And just imagine the angst. For the first time since her marriage, if not her rescue, Marbella has someone in her life that shares so much of her childhood experiences and background. (At least who isn't being paid to hang out with/serve her). But she never feels like she can keep him. At first they were merely waiting for next of kin to come claim him. But by the time they realized no one was coming, it was clear to them that Javier was going to be the greatest swordsman the world had ever known. He would have to leave one day, if not for his own glory then for the sake of the helpless across the continent. He was never meant to be her child. (Or so she thought).

Plus Javier's entire character arc revolves around him slowly realizing that love and duty are not mutually exclusive. This could have been reenforced by his relationships with Arcos and Marbella. He's devoted to Arcos because he admires and respects him as his savior and lord, but also as a genuinely good person who helped him grow into the man he became. But he loves and respects Marbella because she was the one who made him feel safe and not alone when he was at his most vulnerable. (Not to say that Arcos didn't try, he just never lived through what they did so it was harder for him to connect to him.)

Maybe the reason he has a seemingly closer relationship with Arcos is because he thinks it's a simpler relationship. Just a lord and knight, nothing else. (I think it would be really funny if Javier was only aware of his filial pining towards only half of the Frontera couple.)

I think I lost my train of thought halfway through this post but tldr; Javier should have been a secret mommas boy.

personally i think javier is just lacking in relationships in general. like. this man barely talks to anyone who isn't lloyd. the only two other people i think he's close to is arcos and julian which does make his lack of relationship with marbella more conspicuos!

i've talked before about just how out of character it feels for the fronteras to not really have a more personal relationship with javier considering the literally everything about them, but you make a great point that javier is pretty close to arcos while he barely has any interaction to marbella. which personally i think it's because bk moon is allergic to writing women sometimes and arcos is just more integral to the plot than marbella unfortunately :/

but if we're talking in-universe explanations it could totally be what you said! javier probably just found it easier to connect with arcos, because he already had that lord&knight connection with him.

he was in a very tenuous situation when it came to his place with the fronteras, because there was really nothing tying them together when he was a child beyond their goodwill. becoming a knight to the frontera family is cementing his place with them in a way no one could really deny. it made it real even if it's not really what he (or them) wanted it to be.

(i've also talked about this before. i've talked a lot about tged OTL)

but this also comes with the drawback that now they're stuck in their roles in a way they weren't when javier was just the child they'd raised. now he is a knight, they are his masters and there's a degree of separation between them that wasn't there before.

and with arcos javier at least has the excuse of being his knight to justify his closeness. but with marbella?? he doesn't have a 'reason' to be close to her. so he isn't.

but i really do adore the idea of them having their own relationship with each other <333. i'm holding your entire ask close to my heart and never letting go <3333

Zariya Hollow: The Ghost in the Opera House – Two Decades of Shadows and Song

My journey with Le Fantôme de l’Opéra began not with the written word, but with music. It was the mid-1990s, and I first encountered the Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical, sitting beside my grandmother, mesmerized as the chandelier swung, the organ thundered, and the Phantom’s heartbreak echoed through the theater. Not long after, I stumbled across the Wishbone adaptation, a playful but poignant introduction to Gaston Leroux’s story. These early experiences sparked a fascination that would follow me for decades.

It wasn’t until my teenage years that I delved into Leroux’s novel—reading it for the first time in German, a faithful translation that brought the story vividly to life. I was captivated not only by the Phantom’s tragic genius but by the depth of Leroux’s writing, the intricacies of his characters, and the shadowy grandeur of the Paris Opera House. The story’s layers resonated deeply, and my connection to it grew. I wrote and staged two adaptations in school, followed by a screenplay, each an earnest attempt to grapple with the story’s complexities. But these early projects were only fragments of what I longed to create.

At the heart of my journey with Phantom has been my collaboration and friendship with Josep Farkas, better known as SylentPhantom, creator of the seminal PhantomsTheater. For years, Josep has been a tireless advocate for Leroux’s legacy, dedicating seven years to meticulously translating the original novel and compiling the incredible appendix that sheds light on its historical and cultural context. His work is more than scholarship—it is an act of love, a commitment to preserving and illuminating Leroux’s masterpiece. Josep’s insights, dedication, and support have shaped my understanding of Phantom in ways I could never fully articulate. His contributions are interwoven with the very foundation of The Ghost in the Opera House.

When I began producing The Ghost in the Opera House through Zariya Hollow, it felt like the culmination of all the years I had spent living with this story. To voice Le Fantôme was both an honor and a terrifying challenge, requiring me to step into his genius, his torment, his unrelenting loneliness. Composing the score—original songs, underscoring, and arrangements of operatic selections—was a deeply personal process, an attempt to echo not only Leroux’s vision but the emotions that have drawn me to this story since I was a child.

But this series was never mine alone. It was built on collaboration, on the talents and dedication of an extraordinary cast and crew. The actors brought the characters to life with nuance and emotional truth. The sound designers and engineers constructed an immersive world that made the Opera House breathe, its echoes and whispers alive in every scene. And throughout it all, the spirit of “Le Fantôme” served as a guiding force, reminding me of the enduring power of this story and the community it continues to inspire.

After two decades of living with this tale, and years of production, the work is complete. The Ghost in the Opera House is not simply an adaptation; it is a reflection of everything Phantom has meant to me—a story of shadows and music, of love and loss, of the beauty and tragedy of being human. It is one of my proudest achievements, not because it is flawless, but because it is honest, born of passion and collaboration.

To those who listen, I hope this series resonates with you as deeply as it has with me. May it echo with the wonder, heartbreak, and beauty that first drew me to “Le Fantôme’s” world all those years ago.

Earlier this year, I read a horror novel called 'Fervor' by Toby Lloyd. It deals with Jewish mysticism, Jewish life in the UK, the overbearing trauma of the Holocaust and each Jewish character's unique experience with Judaism.

Several of the details are fuzzy now, but one bit of the novel that stayed with me is a conversation Kate, the narrator who discovers she's a patrilineal Jew (her father's own Jewishness was hidden from him due to antisemitism) and Hannah, the "controversial" Zionist mother of her university friend. Kate thinks the antizionist group on campus isn't all unreasonable, while Hannah thinks they're antisemites. Then the decades old conversation of whether Anti-Zionism is antisemitism commences, with Hannah proclaiming that it is a well-known fact that antisemitism is a predominant ideology, so could Kate really believe that of all people, the ones shouting for the destruction of the Jewish State truly couldn't possibly be antisemitic?

It is fascinating to me that during the "Great Awokening", the pejorative term for when progressives reckoned with the fact that so many people held racist, xenophobic, misogynistic and homophobic views, they never got to discuss the millennia old persecution of Jews. In their world, everybody is prejudiced, but the people calling for a global intifada just want to make their political opinions on world injustices heard.

I love this moment because it addresses that Lloyd is doubting himself, it acknowledges that Lloyd and Nya have been through way too much stuff, and it shows us that Lloyd does not want to put Arin and Sora through something horrific. He doesn't want them to experience "the horrors" too young like he did.

Kai being mad that Wyldfyre stowed away but not in like an angry way but in a "I don't want you getting hurt" way is just sooooo.

Sora is so right to be concerned. I would be too if I were her.

I get what Sora was trying to do with the grappling hooks, but I also feel like this isn't going to bode well for Arin. She made his thing something "cooler" because their elemental powers are involved.

GRRR THIS EPISODE IS AMAZING.

I think we didn't see Kai's vision because they're going to bring it back later. I know some people are saying that it was of a corrupted version of himself, and honestly, I'd say that's a very likely assumption, given his history. He used to have a lust for power, and maybe he still does, it's just more subdued. If anything were to happen to him (pretend we haven't seen ep10 yet), he could likely succumb to that temptation for power.

ALSO I'm such a Lloyd "life" truther, so learning that it was the LIFE DRAGON who claimed him?!??!? Yes. I'm so excited to expand more on that.

Annon-Guy: I don't know if you watched Titanic, but if you did...

How would Emil, Marta, Tenebrae, Richter, Aqua, Lloyd, Colette, Genis, Raine, Sheena, Zelos, Presea, Regal, Kratos, Yuan and Seles react to seeing this movie?

I have in fact seen it a couple of times, but not enough to know every beat by heart. Enough for the general synopsis though. So take these with a grain of salt in case I forgot something, but only a grain of salt because I've watched it at least 3 different times over the years. So without further ado...

Emil - Average Moviegoer experience. Goes through all the emotions. Happiness at the two finding love, sadness at their separation by death, angry at the complete mismanagement of the ship, especially IRL that led there to be not enough life boats or any safety precautions. Doesn't consider it a strict romance the way Marta does but enjoys the romantic aspects as part of the movie.

Marta - Thinks Rose spending her twilight years reminiscing about that one hot guy she banged on a boat instead of the 60+ years she spent with her actual husband and family is peak romance. Swoons the whole way through the movie and wants to re-enact the gif-ed scene above with Emil so bad. Views the movie as a strict romance and will not be convinced otherwise.

Tenebrae - Finds all human fiction to be fascinating combinations of allegory, wish-fulfillment, folly, and fascination. Likes the parts of the movie at night, especially where the boat crashes into the iceberg. "That's just what happens when you underestimate the power of darkness."

Richter - Rage movie. Furiously doing the math to prove how irresponsible the lax safety regulations were and how bare minimum improvements could have saved lives. VERY heatedly debates that Jack could have fit on that bit of flotsam and he and Rose could both have survived. Almost certainly a toxic way of self-flagellating "coping" over how he definitely could have saved Aster and everything was his fault.

Aqua - 300% believes everyone could have lived if she'd been there. Irrationally angry and yells at the part where the old couple just lay down and die together.

Lloyd - Also irrationally angry about the old couple. "I don't care if they were 2000 years old. There's always something to live for. Even if they ended up dying in the end anyway, trying to survive is more noble.

Colette - Scandalized by the presence of dogs but lack of closure about what happens to them after the ship sinks. Everyone has to comfort her with "We don't see any dogs die so that means they all lived" movie logic.

Genis - Does not understand the romance aspect at all. This is clearly a drama. He is also doing unnecessary math with Richter.

Raine - This is not a drama or a romance for her. This is a fucking horror flick. Her Thalassophobic ass is hiding under blankets the whole time and has to leave the room when she knows they're going to hit the iceberg.

Sheena - Has no strong opinion. Has to restrain Zelos during the "Paint me like one of your French Girls" scene.

Zelos - Lowkey upset there isn't more on-screen nudity. Also angry about the old couple but equally angry with Rose just dropping that necklace overboard. "That's your last tie to the guy you supposedly loved and SOOOOO expensive and you're just DROPPING IT IN THE SEA?!"

Presea - Obsessed with the wooden interior details on the ship and basically nothing else. Also on team "That wood is big enough, Jack died for nothing."

Regal - What he thinks: A poignant story of love and sacrifice and the complicated nature of human bonds. 3 hour video essay on the symbolism of the necklace alone. What he says: "I enjoyed the film."

Kratos, and I'm adding Mithos here because they would have the same opinion - "This is why you bring armaments, even on passenger ships. They should have just torpedoed the iceberg."

Yuan - Pining for Martel the whole run time of the film. Actively sings "My Heart Will Go On." Then tries to be like "I enjoyed the film only a normal amount." He, Kratos, Mithos, and Tenebrae would go on a 6 hour screed about any and every minor historical inaccuracy.

Seles - 300% on team old people dying in each other's arms, actually. "Is it healthy? NO! Is it romantic as hell for them to embrace their mortality and choose to spend those last moments in comfort doing their best to enjoy those last few moments together? FUCK YES!" Zelos disagrees but won't argue with her. But 100% scowls at everyone in the room like "Who taught my sister to say 'fuck?'"
