gary wanting a divorce just because his stepson's the literal antichrist. couldn't be me. not with a wife that gorgeous. yes I know she's insane and gave birth to the son of satan and has gone through a list of boyfriends/husbands, most of whom are dead. yes, again, I know her son is the actual antichrist. but have you SEEN her. that's evangeline lilly. why would you divorce her over something so small as her son ruining your wedding with a tornado and making a teacher jump out a window and also burying you in the backyard. like. not to be a horny lesbian on main but just samantha walking up to give me a massage while dressed in lingerie would be enough for me to just stick around forever. I'd raise that little boy SO lovingly. I'd welcome him home every day with a 'hi! ruined any buildings with a tornado today? oh, you did? good job! here's a glass of milk and an apple." no shade to gary but I'm different. Has anyone seen the movie Little Evil? It's a similar concept, with Adam Scott dating a single mum who is the unknowing (though she does mention a satanic ritual multiple times, so it's up in the air how much she's aware of) mother of the Antichrist. The mum is raising the kid totally normally, and the movie is about how her boyfriends has to come to terms with being the potential stepdad of the Antichrist (with shenanigans of deciding whether he should murder the child for the good of earth, etc). It's been ages since I watched it, but from what I remember it's not a bad movie, and very similar concept to the one being discussed here!

Your church-going, God-worshipping sister adopted a small child and you’re excited to see them. But when you do, the child is a menace. They’re throwing things everywhere, setting furniture on fire with seemingly nothing, chanting in Latin to summon demons, but the weirdest thing is that your sister doesn’t seem to mind.

Okay I’ve decided that Little Evil (2017) is CRIMINALLY underrated. The first time I watched it I thought it was ok-good, the second time I just loved it. Some of the things I thought didn’t make sense the first time I watched actually did when I thought about it. Spoilers ahead!

Lucas is revealed at the end to not be evil exactly, yet every moment he’s on screen he’s acting pretty evil or at least unnerving, and it's possible he killed all of his mom’s ex’s. However, we learn that the cult has been following Sam & Lucas and tried to manipulate Gary into killing Lucas--it’s possible they tried the same with her ex’s, meaning Lucas didn’t kill them/scare them off unprovoked. By the time Gary came around he was expecting the guy to kill him. He saw Gary come home with the knife and knew he was in danger, and that’s when he tried to kill Gary.

Lucas’s really sudden turn around at the water park. He’s hated Gary up until this moment and tried to kill him the night before so it seemed like a sudden shift. But then I realized Lucas has lost so many father figures over the years and none of them ever came back. When Gary came back, brought his mom flowers, and asked to spend the day with him after what he did, he decided to give him a chance.

Lucas doesn’t seem to be fully in control of his powers. He does have those evil tendencies from his father (Satan) but he also has positive influences in his mom and Gary. With time he will learn that things like killing his teacher over a minor classroom incident is bad.classic nature v. nurture.

IDK this was just so sweet and wholesome. Just a guy realizing he loves his kid despite his demonic flaws.
