If we could start anew, I wouldn’t hesitate - I’d gladly take you back, and tempt the hand of fate. Tears on my pillow, pain in my heart, caused by you.

Here is what I love about this scene besides the stolen glances (we'll get to the second glance later on)
This is really the beginning of Syd and Carmy creating together; and the scene is already telling us what Carmy really thinks about- what or who is making him thoughtful.
When he mentions the word thoughtful, he steals his first glance at Sydney. This had to be in the script because it is a noticeable pause with action. I wonder if it was written as-
Carmy: thoughtful?
[Carmy looks at Sydney as she writes she looks up and stares at the jacket]
this is the beat in the scene before we move to the next topic of the conversation
On the second look, when they're talking about that Jacket, Syd mentions it must have felt good wearing it. I knew that was when he thought about getting her that jacket.
Tumblr media
Then what does he do later on- he gifts her the jacket- a thoughtful gift with colors and her initials.
The scene subtly tells us before the panic attack and when he stays up at night in 2x09- that his thoughts are full of Sydney, and I don't think he realized how much he thought of her until the season finale.
The second season was a way to look at how Carmy shows loves to someone. Love should be joyful, and he's struggling to accept that.
Episode Fishes especially show us when carmy displays care, it's rejected.
But when he gets the opportunity to love, to be thoughtful - it's joyful, he draws, reassures, gives gifts, makes dinner, and sprite when you're sick.
Anyways I'm just confirming this morning how much Carmy really thinks about Syd. He's crazy about her.

"Zombies have become a global phenomenon — there have been at least ten zombie movies so far this year. Which made us wonder, where did this fascination for the undead come from? This week, how one of our favorite monsters is a window into Haiti's history and the horrors of slavery."

When you watch the old Motown groups do their famous dance routines .. you can thank Cholly Atkins for teaching them their moves .. as Michigan Music History remembers Cholly Atkins, who passed away 20 years ago today. Born Charles Atkinson in September of 1913 in Pratt City, Alabama.. “The Man with the Moves” would get his start in Vaudeville in the 30s, and with his partner Honi Coles, became one of the top dance teams at the Apollo Theater. Appearing in the Broadway production of “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” from 1949-1952 .. he would pass along his dancing techniques, known as “vocal choreography’ to acts like the Moonglows, the Cadillacs, Little Anthony & the Imperials and others. When the Miracles were just getting started, Bobby Rogers of the group was their choreographer, and even taught other Motown acts a few moves, until Cholly Atkins began to work with the Miracles as a freelance choreographer. Officially hired by Berry Gordy in 1964, he would teach the Temptations, 4 Tops, Supremes .. all the acts, their famous routines. In the 70s, Atkins would work with acts like the O’Jays, Sylvers and others. Cholly Atkins developed the ‘partner’ dance, which he called the Graystone .. named after the famed Graystone Ballroom. Moving to Vegas, he would continue to teach dance until 2003 .. when he died of pancreatic cancer on April 19th, 2003, just 5 months shy of his 90th birthday. Remembering Motown choreographer Cholly Atkins …

Chuck Chuck Baby (15): Chicken Stuffin' Good.
#onemannsmovies #filmreview of "Chuck Chuck Baby". #ChuckChuckFilm. A joyous uplifing 5* British treat. Go and see it!
A One Mann’s Movies review of “Chuck Chuck Baby” (2024). “Chuck Chuck Baby”, out in cinemas from this Friday, is a simply terrific new British film written and directed by Janis Pugh. It scrunches together the gritty reality of a Ken Loach social drama, some of the surrealist whimsy of “La La Land“; the toe-tapping nature of “Sunshine on Leith“; the dark humour of “The Full Monty” and it leaves…
