We organize our social lives around categories of purity and impurity; especially in societies where beliefs of pollution and cleanliness are strict. Here I argue that there are cultural practices and prohibitions to reinforce our ideals of purity. They apply not only to physical cleanliness but moral health as well. In this novel I describe the symbolic nature of morality. I hope you enjoy it. Cheers.

I’ve been studying for a test in literature, and while reading about Goethe’s “Faust”, I came across a paragraph which really resonated and fascinated me, and I’ve decided to translate it (from Hebrew) and share it with you because of the important message behind it and it’s relevance to today’s life. • • The main characteristics of the modern man, is a state of restlessness - lacking peace of mind and always needing to be on the move. A never ending chase after happiness and advancement. • • We're always in some sort of a race - trying to achieve something new, and then another thing and another one. It is a never ending feeling, like we’re constantly lacking peace and calmness, which correlates to our need for freedom, our need to remove restrictions and limitations - in the goal of reaching fulfilment and exhausting all of our options. • • There is a restlessness about our social class, there is a restlessness that is temporarily tamed by purchasing new things, there is a restlessness about our exterior beauty - which are impacted by esthetic and artificial ideals that we cannot keep up with. There is so much pressure that can result in eating disorders and anxiety. • • These days we call this restlessness: "Decision Anxiety" - where we want to be in a few places at the same time, so we don't have to miss out on anything (FOMO). This anxiety is derived from the huge variety of options, social events and technology that stand before us - at the tips of our fingers, ours for the taking. • • • How about you? For the love of education...

All societies can be understood and compared by divisions such as grid and group categories. Grid has to do with the status of a person in society that is based socially on divisions such as descent, race, sex, ethnicity, etc. Group refers to those socially motivated by the good of the society as a whole. They may also be driven by personal beliefs. Cheers!
