Arms wrapped snug around me, Warm and comforting amidst the chill. His hands gripping onto my tunic for comfort As I wrap my own around his amethyst robes.

I rest my chin on his steady shoulder One pointed ear using his scarf as a pillow While the other listens to his soothing voice My eyes keep a steady watch for trouble in spite of it all.

It would be simpler if it was just me out here. It would even be safer if it was so. But the comfort of his rich voice and warm hands Banishes that wish from my mind.

If I must be out here. If I must wait out a storm. If I must hide in this cave, At least it’s with him.

So, I’ll keep a steady vigil And protect the only person Who can keep my rabbit heart safe As his light brings life to mine.

Fingers tighten around the other man Squeezing him closer as if to keep him safe. “Mr. Hero? Are you cold again?” A hand coming up to brush against my cheek

A soft sigh of peace breaks through. Looking up into shining, emerald eyes A spark of magic and home in them. “Never better Rav. You’re here…and warm.”
