This is a sudden one, apparently the first chapter of a lingcheng fic I decided to write before I knew it. Inspired by the Bone and All movie but you don't have to watch it in order to make sense of this.
Basically, Jiang Cheng meets his nephew he didn't know he had, and turns out there was a pretty good reason for it (the reason being that Jin Zixuan could only sustain himself by eating humans, and Jin Ling was the same after he was born. It will be a fun discovery, I'm sure.
It's already late in the evening when the doorbell rings. A boy stands outside with his yellow coat loosely hanging on him, drenched from the rain. There's a piece of paper in his hand that he silently hands to Jiang Cheng.
Take care of him, it says.
"I'm Jin Ling," the boy introduces himself.
The cold air makes Jiang Cheng shiver, too stunned to really notice it. He doesn’t ’t know the boy, yet he strangely looks familiar.
Take care of him. Take care of Jin Ling, he guesses. But who is Jin Ling?
He has seen the handwriting somewhere, his brain supplies, giving him mixed feelings. Shock. Unease. Hope and desperation.
"Are you Jiang Cheng?" The boy asks. Jiang Cheng nods. "I'm your nephew."
"I don't have a nephew."
"You do, now. Can I come in?" Jiang Cheng stares and Jin Ling shrugs, nonchalant. "Or I can go. I don't have to stay, to be honest. Shushu only told me to come here."
Take care of him. The ink is stained, the paper weary. Old or used, perhaps both. The rain didn’t help its condition.
"Who's shushu?" Jiang Cheng asks, gripping the paper.
"My other uncle. Jin Guangyao."
Jin Guangyao.
The letters are delicate. Soft and inviting.
He knows who Jin Guangyao is. Bastard of Jin Guangshan. Half brother to Jin Zixuan. Uncle of Jin Ling, apparently.
Jiang Cheng licks his lips, trying to ignore his trembling hands. He isn't fond of the anticipation curling around in his stomach.
"And your parents?"
Jin Ling's eyes are devoid of emotion. Jiang Cheng isn't fond of that, either. Not when he uses those eyes to break him the news.
"Jin Zixuan and Jiang Yanli."
The note in his hand has seen better days. Jiang Cheng adds to its weariness, unconsciously crumpling it.
Take care of him, it screams now. Begs. Tells him gently and lovingly.
That's why it was familiar. He hasn't seen it in years, but part of him recognised his sister's handwriting.
**
He ends up letting Jin Ling in quietly; neither of them saying anything, just Jiang Cheng opening the door wider and moving out of the way. Gesturing at the floor where his own shoes rest, other hand still gripping the note.
He watches as Jin Ling discards his muddy shoes. He doesn’t reprimand him and the boy doesn't apologise. The yellow coat gets hanged, water slowly dripping on the floor. He doesn’t care, not at the moment.
He tells his- his nephew, to wait in the bathroom while he gets some spare clothes. Jin Ling seems obedient enough, sitting on the side of the bathtub, nodding. He doesn’t ask for permission to start the hot water and Jiang Cheng doesn’t tell him to stop.
Note in hand, he heads to his bedroom, pretending that he isn’t close to a mental breakdown.
He hasn't seen her sister in years. Hasn't heard of her. Nor her husband.
She disappeared years ago, some time after their parents died. It didn't seem suspicious at the time. She and Jin Zixuan got married. Jiang Cheng walked her down the line. She was beautiful. Happy.
Then she and her new husband packed up their things, leaving only a letter in Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian's mail.
She told them she loved them. That it wasn’t their fault, it wasn’t Jin Zixuanxa fault. That it was a mutual decision between husband and wife with a good reason that she couldn't tell them. She wished them the best and asked not to be followed. To respect her decision.
They didn't. How could they? One moment they were all celebrating I'm bliss, and the next they get a neat and flimsy letter about a goodbye. It wasn’t like her. It was insane.
Of course they followed their sister. Tried to, at least, but they never found her. Some crumbs here and there, but all their leads went cold eventually.
And then Wei Wuxian found her. It was an accident, from what Jiang Cheng was told. Because he was only told. First on the phone, then in person with Wei Wuxian, alone. No Yanli. Not even Jin Zixuan.
Wei Wuxian looked pale. He knew something Jiang Cheng didn’t and he refused to share.
Jiejie is okay. She's happy with him. You don't need to worry.
Of course Jiang Cheng worried. A second didn’t pass by without him worrying. Wei Wuxian knew that.
Where is she?
I… I can't tell you that.
Wei Wuxian said he promised not to.
It was insane.
It hurt.
It made him mad.
Jiang Cheng thought Wei Wuxian was just joking. Hoped. An ill timed attempt to make him smile of relief when Wei Wuxian would grin at him and ask, did you really believed that?
Wei Wuxian didn’t grin. Didn’t even smile, just wore that sad, dready expression on his stupid face, like it physically hurt to withhold the information.
Yet he didn't budge.
Jiang Cheng suspected that if they hadn't already been talking on the phone when Wei Wuxian saw Jiang Yanli, he wouldn't even know that. Wei Wuxian would have slowly worked on him to give up the search without telling him about seeing their sister.
It just made Jiang Cheng angrier. His pleads led to nothing, so he tried talking with his fists.
Wei Wuxian didn't even try to fight back. It just made things worse.
He made it clear that if Wei Wuxian wasn't willing to tell him where his sister is, tell him why she went away, he wasn’t welcome in his life.
That was the last he heard of his brother, too.
He searched for his sister alone then, for a long time. As he kept running into walls, he wondered if Wei Wuxian helped them.
Then Jin Guangyao broke the news of his sister and her husband's death. He never mentioned a son. Denied it even, with that bastardly mask on his face.
And Jiang Cheng believed him.
They buried the bodies together.
And now Jin Ling, son of Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan sits in his bathroom, sent by Jin Guangyao.
He looks at the note, reads it again.
Take care of him, his sister tells him.
He takes a shaky breath and pushes down the turmoil inside him. Pushes and pushes until it's sealed in a rattling box, contained just enough to get himself through the night.
Then, he puts the note down on his desk, gets some clothes he thinks will fit the boy, and leaves the room without a second thought.
**
Jin Ling is quiet. He takes everything Jiang Cheng gives him, listens to what he says, acknowledging him with only a few words and glances at him.
He's distant, but that's okay. Jiang Cheng is, too.
He doesn't know what Jin Ling knows. Isn't sure how to ask, so he doesn't., and makes food instead, while the boy soaks in the water.
He calls Jin Guangyao a few times. He never picks up. He doesn't call Wei Wuxian. Couldn’t, even if he wanted to, he deleted his number in a fit of anger and he doesn't remember it anymore.
He's utterly alone as he stares at the frying eggs. He takes out some ham and quickly adds it to the pan, just to distract himself, and flexes his fingers to try and get rid of the trembling.
It doesn't work.
He drops an egg on the floor and he wants to scream as he destroys his kitchen. He doesn't do either, just throws out the egg and cleans.
Jin Ling finds him after he made two successful servings, the other three already in the bin. The clothes are a bit big for him, but it's acceptable.
"Thought you might be hungry," Jiang Cheng says as he places a plate in front of Jin Ling. The boy stares and Jiang Cheng stares back.
"Thanks," he says. He takes a seat and Jiang Cheng does the same.
They don't talk for a while. Jiang Cheng focuses on forcing down the food and trying not to vomit.
It's Jin Ling that breaks the silence.
"Are you not gonna ask?"
"Are you gonna answer?"
Jin Ling shrugs. Jiang Cheng makes a noise that says thought so. They get back to eating. Jin Ling clears his plate, while Jiang Cheng's portion joins the others in the bin. He doesn't bother to wash the utensils, placing them in the sink and leaving them there.
He doesn't have a spare bedroom, only a shitty couch. Most of his resources went down the drain trying to find his sister.
He wonders if he should take the couch. He should, shouldn't he? If Jin Ling really is his nephew. Even if he isn’t, he's just a kid. How old is he anyway? When was he born? How long after Yanli ran away?
"Is it okay if I sleep here?" Jin Ling asks, and points to the couch when he gets Jiang Cheng's attention.
He nods.
"Cool. Thanks."
So Jiang Cheng gets a pillow, a blanket and a sheet to drape over the couch. He gets no complaints.
"I can be gone before you wake up," Jin Ling says then.
"Why?" Jiang Cheng asks, as if he has no idea. Jin Ling huffs.
"I'm just a guy who showed up at your front door. At night. I'm surprised you even let me in."
"You are my sister's kid."
"You really believe that?"
"Yeah."
He isn’t sure if he wants to believe it, but he does. He recognises Jin Ling as some relative, at least. He noticed the features he shared with Jin Zixuan. The eyes told him about Yanli.
Well, maybe he just sees what he wants. It's a long night, after all.
Jin Ling still doesn't show much emotion, but his frown was still something. The thought of him opening up runs through Jiang Cheng's mind. He hushes it away.
"You are not what I expected," Jin Ling tells him.
"What did you expect?"
"I don't know."
Jiang Cheng can relate to that.
"I'll figure out a better sleeping arrangement later," he says instead of answering. "The couch is not that comfortable."
As if Jin Ling will stay for longer than a few nights. He wondered if either of them wanted that.

thigh! kiss! bruise! cock! :P
thigh! Pleasure pulsed through her, and then she excused herself with a bat of her eyelashes, and took just a single step toward Ianthe, and that was all it took—the tug of her dress against her puffy, soft nipples, and the innate friction from her thighs sliding together.
kiss! But when Silas looked at him so, when he kissed Silas’s hands and his sensuous ministrations accepted… Colum could embody the cardinal virtue of his House better than anyone perhaps excepting God.
bruise!
As the lights flickered on behind them, the color of the sky fading to a deep twilit purple like an aching bruise, he glittered.
cock! :3
Jin Ling didn’t wait for a verbal answer then, instead hurrying to reach out and touch his jiujiu’s cock.
#in order: tridentariicest. eighthcest. obikin. lingcheng#mostly for the rare kink buffet tbh XD god i am excited for that#thank you elliott 🥰 for giving me an ask!!#ask game

[China Tang Dynasty]Chinese Armor:The Dunhuang Heroes | 敦煌英雄
The ShaZhou/沙洲(China Dunhuang, old name) is still there, and the Tang Dynasty is still there!
The yellow sand flowing through fingers represents the lost youth and blood and tears of the Guiyi Army(归义军) of the Tang Dynasty in Dunhuang. They are not quicksand but the shining golden soul of the Tang Dynasty army.
This series of works is inspired by the upcoming Chinese Tang Dynasty historical film "Heroes of Dunhuang/敦煌英雄".
The film tells the story of the Guiyi Army in the Tang Dynasty. After the An Lushan rebellion broke out, the Tubo/吐蕃 invaded Shazhou/沙洲 (now Dunhuang City, Gansu Province China). In 848, Zhang Yichao/张议潮 led his people to revolt and drive out the Tubo rulers, recovering Shazhou and starting the tragic story of the Guiyi Army for 200 years.
The story revolves around Zhang Yichao, a general in the late Tang Dynasty of China, who led the people of Shazhou and other places to break free from the rule of the Tubo/吐蕃 nobles.
Zhang Yichao (Chinese: 張議潮 or 張義朝; pinyin: Zhāng Yìcháo; 799−872) was a Chinese military general and politician of the Tang dynasty who was a resident of Sha Prefecture (Chinese: 沙州; pinyin: Shāzhōu, in modern Dunhuang, Gansu,China). When the Tibetan Empire/吐蕃 plunged into civil war, he led a rebellion, capturing several cities and reverted the area's allegiance to the Tang dynasty. He subsequently conquered the Hexi Corridor and governed it as the military commissioner (jiedushi) of Guiyi Circuit (headquartered in modern Dunhuang) under nominal authority of the Tang emperors.
Following the An Lushan Rebellion, the Tibetan Empire conquered the Sha and Gua prefectures of the Tang dynasty in 781. Han population of the locality remained. By 851, the Tibetan Empire which had ruled the southern Tarim Basin and modern Gansu region since 790 was being torn by civil war.
In the second year of Jianzhong (781),Sha Prefecture, which had held out for many years, also fell. After the fall, the people of Hexi were ravaged by Tubo. Adult males became slaves, farming and grazing; the elderly and weak were killed, and some were "cut off their hands and eyes" and then abandoned. The people wanted to return to the Tang Dynasty day and night.
During his growing years, Zhang Yichao personally experienced the brutal rule of Tubo, which aroused his anger. Feeling the desolate scene of the people's livelihood under the rule of Tibetan Empire/吐蕃, Zhang Yichao sympathized with the people's suffering and had great respect for Feng Changqing, a famous general who was framed by the eunuch Bian Lingcheng in the suppression of the " An Lushan Rebellion". He personally write a"Feng Changqing Death Letter"
The "Zhang Huaishen Monument/张淮深碑" records that Zhang Yichao "discussed military affairs and swordplay, and studied martial arts classics" on Sha Prefecture. He believed that "the fate of Tibetan Empire was over", so he "vowed to return to his country, with no doubt in his determination." To this end, he began to accumulate power and seek support from many parties, such as:
1.Dunhuang's prestigious and influential families such as the Su, Zhang, and Li clans had numerous members and substantial strength. They made significant contributions during Zhang Yichao's uprising and the reconquest of Hexi Corridor.
2.Buddhist monks and disciples. Despite being highly respected by the Tubo for his profound knowledge of Buddhism, the eminent monk Hong Bian of Hexi was appointed 'Chief Executor of the Vinaya and Teacher of Conduct' but 'longed for his homeland and wished to be under the Imperial wind,' so he did his utmost to assist Zhang Yichao in reclaiming Shazhou. Buddhism in the Western Regions was thriving, with a large number of followers, and the extensive influence of these monks among the people instilled a deep-seated spirit of resistance against Tubo, driven by their influence;
3.Heroes and righteous men. Figures such as Zhang Yichao's trusted subordinates Deputy Anjing and tribal leader Yan Yingda (also known as Shang Yanshin) were renowned local heroes.
↑Mural commemorating victory of General Zhang Yichao over the Tibetans in 848. Mogao cave 156, Late Tang dynasty
↑<Zhang Yichao Leading the Army Mural>: The man on the left, wearing red, is Zhang Yichao.
It was with the great help of these people that Zhang Yichao clearly put forward the slogan of "returning to the country" and widely organized and united forces from all sides.
After the 9th century, the strength of the Tibetan Tubo Empire continuously declined, with frequent internal turmoil. During the Huichang era (841-846 AD), Tubo Empire suffered consecutive years of disasters and famines, leading to widespread starvation and epidemic, with corpses lying next to each other.
During this period, the Tibetan Tubo general Lun Kongre led five thousand cavalry to Gua Prefecture, plundering the eight prefectures of Hexi including Shanshan and Kuo. This action not only stirred great resentment among the people of Hexi but also caused discontent among his subordinates, who all desired to rebel against him.
↑China Dunhuang Mural Showing Zhang Yichao departure
When the time was ripe, Zhang Yichao launched a rebellion in Sha Prefecture in the second year of Dazhong (848 AD), leading his forces in a fierce battle to expel the Tibetan garrison. After the Tibetan army retreated, they gathered reinforcements from the surrounding areas and besieged Sha Prefecture again. Zhang Yichao led his troops out of the city and defeated the Tibetans, finally establishing a foothold in Sha Prefecture
This unrest quickly spread like wildfire and even caused major turmoil within the Tibetan Empire. Tibetan historical texts record that this rebellion '起于康,遍及全藏,如鸟飞百影,四面楚歌,天下大乱' Lun Kongre also rebelled, seized power within Tibet, proclaimed himself prime minister, and engaged in mutual slaughter with the Tibetan military governor of Shanshan, Shang Bipib."
In 863, Zhang Yichao led a group of 7,000 Han and non-Han soldiers to capture Liang Prefecture (涼州, in modern Wuwei, Gansu).
In 866, Zhang submitted a report stating that the Uyghur chieftain Pugu Jun (僕固俊) had recaptured from the Tibetan Empire Xi Prefecture, Ting Prefecture (庭州, in modern Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang), Luntai (輪台, in modern Ürümqi, Xinjiang), and Qingzhen (清鎮, modern location unknown)—apparently implying that Pugu Jun did so under his command.
In 867, Zhang Yichao visited Chang'an and paid homage to Emperor Yizong of Tang. Yizong made him a general of the imperial guards and kept him at Chang'an. Yizong also commissioned Zhang's nephew Zhang Huaishen (張淮深) to serve as the acting military governor of Guiyi. He died in 872, probably while residing at Chang'an.

ok it's time for my Official Jiang Cheng Ship Opinions Post. buckle in this is gonna take a bit
Xicheng: I like it in 1 extremely specific circumstance (bonding over very similar experiences post-canon) but I've only seen that done well like. twice. NEEDS to have good characterization (also rare unfortunately) and take into account what they can and can't do as their own sect leaders with regards to courtship/marriage.
Chengqing: perfect in every way. that's it that's all I need to say.
Sangcheng: ehhhhh? Cute in Cloud Recesses summer camp era, not feasible post-canon due to irreconcilable differences in worldview and how much danger it's acceptable to put Jin Ling in.
Zhancheng: honestly I prefer this to be platonic. Hatefucking is not my jam and LWJ is Wei-Ying-sexual in canon anyway. Give Jiang Cheng a friend who is as weirdly obsessed with Wei Wuxian as he is but in a slightly different way. I want to see them coming to terms with that.
Ningcheng: again, someone just as weirdly obsessed with Wei Wuxian, but a little to the left. I don't think either one of them is ever going to look at the other and not see "the guy WWX likes better than me." Maybe someday they'll form a relationship that isn't based entirely around Wei Wuxian, but it seems kind of unlikely.
Chengyao: I'm actually coming around to this a bit recently? Again, it really needs to keep good characterization at the forefront and consider their positions as individual sect leaders, and remember that their "divorced couple energy" is part of the Guanyin Temple shitshow and not the way they would usually behave, especially for Jin Ling's sake. I want to see more fics where Meng Yao grows up with the Jiang sect so that Jiang Cheng is attached to him from the very beginning.
Mingcheng: meh. I don't really think about this ship that much because it honestly doesn't compel me at all. sorry to the mingcheng enjoyers it there I simply do not get it
Chengxuan: same as above, I don't really get this one. Their dynamic is just not that interesting to me.
Chengyi: that is a child. hard no on this one.
Miancheng: kinda cute? I like it when Jiang Cheng recruits her into the Jiang after she gives up on the Jin, it's a fun idea, but I think I like them better as friends.
Ruocheng: no. just no.
Zhucheng (chengliu? Wen Zhuliu and JC): also no.
Chengsu: I could get behind the idea of JGY desperately contacting Jiang Cheng and being like "help I just found out my fiancee is my sister can you please pretend you've been in love with her all this time and get married to her instead??? I'll negotiate to get you more Jin Ling rights if you do." she fits JC's list of desirable qualities in a wife. unfortunately she gets like 6 seconds of screen time and then dies so we really don't know very much about her, which makes it a bit hard to form a strong opinion on the ship
Other Chengsu? Sucheng/Mincheng/Chengshan/whatever this is: I actually think it's interesting that Su She and Jiang Cheng share the trait of "treat them nicely within this narrow window of time in their life in order to get them to become loyal to you forever, otherwise fuck you." It's possible that if Su She had grown up with the Jiang the two of them would have found some common ground and maybe become friends. I'm more interested in non-romantic interactions here
Cheng...yang? what do you call the Xue Yang/Jiang Cheng ship? Xuecheng? idk. again, not really my jam.
Chengjiao. Lingcheng? Jiang Cheng/Wang Lingjiao. Do people even ship this? I could see it as character development for her I guess. At this point I'm just fishing for possible pairings.
and finally, saved for last...
Xiancheng: this isn't romantic or sexual or platonic, it's all three and also a secret fourth thing that's more intense than all of them put together. As a ship, I don't prefer it, because it's too easy to flatten it out into either a boring cutesy fluffy cliche or a boring jealous/possessive boyfriend type thing. I need to see them being weird about each other in a way that no one can possibly identify, especially themselves. They'll die for each other. They'll live for each other. They'll destroy themselves and be happy about it as long as they believe that the other is going to be okay. You really can't make it as simple as "yeah these two want to fuck."
#jiang cheng#shipping#time for the jiang cheng/wang lingjiao crackship of all time. god i can't even imagine#yunmeng bee posts

Kiss the Anger From My Lips (3.7k)

I.
The stories Jiang Cheng keeps hearing from Wei Wuxian about his attempts at flirting with men are quickly dismissed as nonsense, with a roll of his eyes.
Until one day Jiang Cheng sees for himself, that is.
They are strolling along the docks right in front of Lotus Pier as they often do, and although Jiang Cheng is well used to Wei Wuxian flirting with every girl that passes their way, he’s never seen him flirting with men before.
Jiang Cheng’s mouth drops open.
Wei Wuxian is never subtle, not even with the shyest of woman, but what he’s forced to witness now a different level entirely. Although he’s not even involved, a flush spreads across Jiang Cheng’s face and down his neck, from second-hand embarrassment and anger both.
Being discreet really isn’t Wei Wuxian’s forte.
“Wei Wuxian!” Jiang Cheng calls out.
His brother only gives him a wink and a smile. “Surely, you’ll excuse me for an hour or two?”
It makes Jiang Cheng’s anger spark.
“Have you no shame?” Jiang Cheng hisses, grabbing Wei Wuxian by the collar of his robes once he returns to Lotus Pier several hours later.
Wei Wuxian shrugs his shoulders, smiling with a mischievous gleam in his eyes. It makes Jiang Cheng’s hands itch, even before Wei Wuxian has said a word.
“There’s nothing shameful in having a drink or two,” Wei Wuxian says casually.
Jiang Cheng’s balls his hands into fists. “A drink or two,” he sneers into his brother’s face. “Is that it how you call it?”
Wei Wuxian exhales, rubbing his nose. And then he laughs. “Don’t tell me you are jealous.”

LingCheng //
JL loves his uncle very much, but JC’s displays of affection are scarce 🥺 The only thing JC always does for him is kiss it better when he gets hurt.
Sometimes JC thinks his nephew is very clumsy, because he gets hurt A LOT! But he always places a kiss whereever JL points to and then JL smiles and says that it’s all good now.
As JL grows up, JC tries to stop, but every time he refuses to kiss it better JL’s eyes get all round and glassy, and JC grumbles and kisses him after all.
The older JL gets, the more he wants…. So he comes up with a plan. Coincidentally, the places that hurt are closer and closer to his neck … and to his face…. And to the corner of his mouth…. And before JC knows what’s happening it’s already too late 🤭
We all know which body part is going to hurt next.

Is there a wincest fic where demon Dean is not a total asshole? I need it😭 I know lots of people can't see demon dean being gentle and it's understandable, plus I like the other types too but just
Imagine, okay? Even if demon Dean has conscience, he's far from being restricted. And Dean loves his baby bro so much, of course he wants to take care of his boy! (Ignore those canon episodes, alright?)
So now he's freer than ever and wants his Sammy because he's in love and doesn't feel guilty anymore and sure, maybe he has to coax Sam into some stuff but it would be so much fun. Demon Dean not leaving Sam but instead sneaking up on him and stealing kisses, still not wanting to be cured because that would mean he has to go back to the way they were, he couldn't take care of Sam in a way he is now.
I just want some softer demon Dean who looks after Sam and dodging every attempt at capturing
#of course sooner or later dean would fail#whether it's because of sam's puppy eyes or something else#and then the guilt hits lmao#wincest#demon dean#sam winchester#dean winchester#i might write it too but it wouldn’t be any time soon idk#i can barely write anything that isn’t lingcheng#supernatural#spn

Please note this is a Dead Dove Kinktober and will feature sensitive topics (but also has some very wholesome parts).
Featuring MDZS, Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail so far. If you have suggestions for these missing topics, let me know :3
