I am so sad. I want a world for Caleb where nothing bad happens to him.

I want him to be born to loving parents who are best friends with MC’s parents.

When MC is born he’s in awe and auntie and uncle tell him, “She’s like your sister. You have to protect her like an older brother would.”

They grow up together. Caleb sees her every weekend because their parents are always getting together.

When Caleb’s in the second grade, MC is starting kindergarten and he makes sure to protect her from the older kids who like to tease and tug at her pigtails.

In high school, Caleb gets to check in on her. He walks her to classes, tutors her in the subjects she’s struggling with, and they join the same clubs because they’re so alike it’s almost ridiculous.

And in college they fall in love. Except maybe that’s silly because Caleb’s always loved MC. There’s never been a question of if maybe just how much.

He loves her like she’s his soul. He loves her like she’s the sun. He loves her like he’s the earth, pulled in by her gravity, given life by her light.

He loves her on soft days, when the summer sun beats down on them and yet she’s still pressed into his side reading some book.

He loves her on hard days, when rain beats down against the roof, thunder roaring over the sounds of her sobs. Her tears fall faster than the water drops outside and he presses her face into his neck, whispers, “You’re good enough. I promise you are. You’re perfect.”

He loves her because all he’s ever known is love and all he’s ever seen her as is love.

headcannon that remus knew how to stitch, sew, knit, and crochet, things he learned from hope who taught him as a way to pass time, especially during the long, lonely stretches when he was recovering from his transformations. remus took to it naturally, his slender and nimble fingers deftly threading needles and weaving yarn, finding it extremely therapeutic. when he arrived at hogwarts, it wasn’t long before the marauders discovered just how handy their moony was with a needle and thread. james, peter, and sirius would often come to him with torn robes, frayed hems, or missing buttons, but it was sirius' robes that remus especially paid attention to, sometimes he added subtle, personalized touches, like embroidering tiny stars or paw prints along the edges, just for sirius. sirius, of course, had more than enough gold to buy new robes whenever he wanted, but he loved wearing the ones remus had fixed and personalized. he’d wear them until they were practically falling apart and then when he did get new ones he'd ask remus to personalize them again ♡

Slow dancing with Caleb

His gaze is gentle when he invites you for a dance, folding into the bow of princes before he takes your hand and leads you across the dance floor.

Initially you only come up to his chest as your feet sweep across the floor and it’s so hard to look up at him. Not because he’s too tall but because he keeps looking at you like he’s in love, like you’re love.

And then he whispers, softly, just above the music, “Look at me.”

Of course you have to, eyes rising with the drawl of his voice. The look of a summer’s sunrise stares back at you, gentle and affectionate and filled with so much love. Your chest tightens, sucking in a sharp breath that has a small smile cracking on Caleb’s lips. You can feel how his chest vibrates as he chuckles softly, spinning you in his arms.

Yet when you spin back to him, you’re floating. At first, you think it’s because Caleb is so captivating that it feels like you’re on cloud nine but all of a sudden you’re nose to nose with Caleb whose grin widens. It’s then that you realize he’s using his evol to pull you face to face with him.

A blush rises on your cheeks and he’s clearly delighted to see the way your eyes widen in surprise. You open your mouth to protest, maybe yell at him for surprising you so suddenly, when you hear him laugh. All complaints die in your throat as his eyes crinkle into crescents that remind you of the nights you both gaze at the moon.

“You look beautiful tonight,” he tells you. A dry laugh leaves your throat only because you feel like your chest is about to explode. His affection is overwhelming in all the best ways.

It’s not the first time Caleb’s said something like this to you. In fact, it’s not even the first time he’s said this to you tonight.

When you don’t respond to his comment, he brings a hand up to brush across the edge of your face. Almost as if afraid to touch you, he traces the edge of your hairline. Finger tips dance along the side of your face as if afraid you’ll break under the slightest bit of pressure.

When you glance back at him, he somehow looks almost sad and so you lean into his hand, cheek to palm. This time, he’s the one who’s surprised. You watch is mouth part and you smile, nuzzling into his touch before sighing softly.

You’re no longer spinning around the room dancing. The two of you have come to a stop in the middle of the floor, not a care in a world for the other couples who dance around you. The only thing that matters is the Caleb who’s in front of you and the you who is in front of Caleb.

“What,” you ask softly, watching him from under your lashes. You’re floating in mid-air but you might as well be in heaven with the way Caleb looks at you. He huffs out a soft laugh, breath puffing in the slightest brush against your lips. That’s how close he is.

He’s so close and it’d take just a tilt of his head to lean in and kiss you. And you’re waiting. Of course you’re waiting. You’re always waiting.

But maybe you don’t want to wait anymore.

you KNOW cathy was so glad when kate came back home after all that time no matter how broken she was but she also must have been so so so unbelievably relieved as a mother to see that kate was opening up to others again and she had people taking care of her. like obviously part of her making tyler stay for dinner and giving him the guest room was typical mom scheming because why would you let a guy like that slip through your daughters fingers? but also, she watched her daughter lose three of her best friends and push everybody else away as a coping mechanism and there's no way she wasn't so comforted by the sight of somebody coming her her aid when she obviously didn't ask for it and staying for her even when it was an awkward situation to say the least. i just know she would love the rest of the wranglers and let them set up base there whenever. she would love having javi back and cooking them all bbq while they play poker in her living room after a long day. she'd let them redo the barn and put bedrooms in the loft and not bat an eye if any of them moved in more permanently in the off season. she would love boone's help with the animals and dani's help with the machinery. she would let dexter move a whole library into the loft "as light reading when we stay" and let lilly spread new t-shirt design ideas across her whole kitchen and give her feedback while she's deciding. she'd love tyler like a son (in law cause she's still a schemer after all) and tease him when she wears his t-shirt and he'd unclog the sink drain like a man. she'd love javi like a (more favorite) son and the guest bedroom in the house would be permanently his and they'd watch house md together. i just feel like a safe place to come back to that's filled with laughter and home cooked food would be exactly what kate and all of them would need to heal and carry on. and knowing kate's in good hands with good people who love her and let her be in their lives would be exactly what cathy needs as a mother who lost her daughter once.
