The Hunger Games fandom is getting a new book next year and the film adaptation the year after, and I'm so close to turning this blog into a Hunger Games blog!

suzanne collins is a good writer, but she could instead choose to write these themes and ideas into something new, but you just know her publisher was knocking down her door with a lionsgate contract and a million dollar deal

Who better to reflect the modern day in which Amercians are currently turning a blind eye to a genocide, falling for propaganda, and cheering on the death of children than the Captial Citizens? That's whose POV the book is going be in

The people saying drew starkey is too old can actually go stub their toe so hard it falls off.

I have no idea why are people are so uselessly obsessed with matching the actor's age to the character's, it literally serves zero fucking purpose💀

The only reason why people don't like the 30+yo actors people are fancasting as Haymitch is because "Erm it's weird, they're too old😢" then go ahead & name some 16yo rando that could absolutely NOT pull off Haymitch.

I want someone that can ACT to be Haymitch. A 16yo with little experience & one audition tape isn't gonna be as viable as a 30yo that's been in roles that show he can execute the character. People are so hyperfocused on the ages of the characters instead of the actual acting.

This man can ACT. And he definitely doesn't look 16, but he does not look like some old uncle all the people on tiktok are overreacting like he is. Makeup & styling goes a LONG way. People on tiktok are absolutely dogpiling on him for no reason. He could 10000% absolutely own the role of Haymitch.

So I am home so that's means unhinged bingo card for the Sunrise on the Reaping:

Haymitch is Katniss uncle (brother of mr. Everdeen somehow)

President Snow wanted the games to end so he poisoned all the arena because that way all the tributes will go to die even if they don't kill each other BUT Haymitch wins and he is saved (remeber he had his intestines out - of course the doctors didn't know about Snow's plan) so that's the reason Snow killed his family and girlfriend and the games will continue

Haymitch's girlfriend was Maude Ivory's daughter (so she was Katniss's dad sister - of course if this hc is valid the first one is unvalid)

Since Snow discovered that Haymitch's girlfriend is a former Baird he doesn't kill her but take her (you can go more or less dead dove with this 😏)

In the story we will see how the rebels from 13 start the real revolution in the Capitol so we have first important connections who will do something relevant

Plutarch is assigned to be Haymitch's Mentor

Haymitch can talk to ghosts so Lucy Gray is his Mentor for real LOL (... If she is dead)

About the new hunger games book

Im kinda concerned by how its being recieved. Suzanne Collins usually releases these books to send a message, but everyone is just going "whoo! Haymitch's games!"

I dont want another book even if it is about Haymitch's games if it is just that and what everyone will see. This defeats the entire purpose of the books, its litterally turning out how the hunger games were in Ballad, something disturbing to watch but so normalised because its happened over and over.

She is releasing another book and a lot of people just seem to be celebrating the fact we get to see Haymitch's games rather than taking into account the message Suzanne probably wants to tell 0.0 this is the reason i didnt want a Haymitch book, why i was content without it

I will read it, Haymitch is one of my favorites and i will admit that i am interested in seeing the games, but its concerning to me how the message seems to be getting lost in all the excitment.

It doesn't feel like it fits with the rest of the series, like I guess if its super inconsistent with the rest of the series. I can just ignore it from Canon

That the commentary is lacking and feels flat

I don't like any of the new characters it introduces

Petty reasons which really aren't valid but I will be annoyed

It fucks up my timeline too much especially with the already established Canon Victors

All the D9 tributes die on the first day, please Suzanne give them a chance, I'm begging you

No new lore on District 6, like I just want some crumbs please 🙏
