Design
Once you get hold of the Lenovo Flex 14, the first ting you notice is how light it is. Not surprising, though. That’s what we expected. At 3.5 pounds, this 2-in-1 isn’t as flashy as the company’s clamshell laptops like the Carbon X1 that’s just 2.4 pounds with a 14-inch display.
It’s nevertheless noticeably heavier than the Asus ZenBook Flip 14 (3.3 pounds) and the LG Gram (2.5 pounds). That matters most for a 2-in-1 that’s to be carried on daily commute – you’re more likely to use the Gram 14 than any other convertible around.
Unlike some of Lenovo’s more expensive products, which come in colors such as Clementine Orange and Silver Gray, the budget Flex 14 can only be had in black. This model has simple gray plastic, which only makes for an underwhelming first impression.
That doesn’t make it unattractive, but there is nothing to visually distinguish this laptop from Lenovo’s other models, never mind competitors. Last year, we did a Lenovo Flex 6 14 review, little did we know an upgraded version would drop early in the year with an even better build.
Being a 2-in-1 convertible system, it boasts a pair of 300-degree hinges, allowing you to use the laptop in clamshell mode, tablet mode, or tent mode in between. The pair of hinges feel reassuringly sturdy, and does a good job holding the display in place with minimum wobble.
Ports
Connectivity on the Lenovo Flex 14 2 in 1 is excellent, better than most convertibles in the same price range. On the left, there’s a USB-C port, an HDMI port, power adapter input and an audio jack. On the opposite side, there’s a Novo button, a power button, a card reader and a pair of USB 3.1 ports.
Unfortunately, there’s no Thunderbolt 3 support, meaning you won’t be able to plug an external GPU enclosure – but its something we didn’t expect to have at this price point.
Display
On the Flex 81SS0005US, you get a Full HD display that looks sharp and vivid, but loses its glitter when stacked up against more expensive, brighter screen. Its 224 nits are slightly below the class-standard of 250-nits for comfortable indoor viewing. Still, the screen is very usable in an office setting, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself squinting the screen when using the convertible outdoors.
On the plus side, viewing angles on the Lenovo Flex’s IPS-technology display are quite good. Although the screen dims when viewed from extreme angles, it doesn’t show signs of inverse colors, as you’ll see on cheaper displays.
The Flex’s touch display responds well to taps and swipes, and it also boasts pen support. There’s an included Lenovo Active pen, that comes complete with 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity. You can also snag a plastic USB pen holder for your Lenovo Flex 14 pen, something most business executives need.
Keyboard And Touchpad
The Lenovo Flex’s backlit keyboard feels comfortable, with slight concave keys with tactile bump about half way of each keystroke. It doesn’t include a number pad, but remains reasonably roomy, with very little signs of bending in the middle.
Beneath the keyboard’s bottom-right corner sits a fingerprint reader, which you can use to unlock your Windows profile and open Windows Hello supported apps with a single touch.
A midsize trackpad lets you interact with the Flex, giving a smooth and responsive experience. It delivers accurate swipes, but requires a fair amount of pressure before it can click. To that, there’s a 720p webcam on the screen’s top bezel, which is a little grainy and nosy, but as usual manages to capture relatively clear and sharp video, pretty perfect for Skype chatting.
For sound, there’s a pair of bottom-firing Harman Kardon speakers, better than most average laptop speakers.
Performance
AMD’s Ryzen R5 processors are very good performers with a remarkable balance between efficiency and pure speed. Our review unit comes with the AMD Ryzen R5-3500U with four Zen+ cores (8 threads) clocked at between 2.2 – 3.8 GHz, a Radeon RX Vega 8 graphics card, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB solid-state drive.
This Picasso SoC uses the Zen+ microarchitecture that promises an increase of up to 3 percent over its predecessor. Furthermore, the 12nm process focuses on higher clock rates while maintaining power consumption at the very minimal.
The processor used here is AMD’s latest release for budget notebooks. So far, it makes short work of the usual productivity tasks and can even tackle some demanding tasks like video editing. For the business executive who needs to take notes on the go or edit a few spreadsheets on the flip, the Lenovo Flex has the muscle to handle that and some more.
Compared: The The Lenovo Flex 6-14IKB boasts a 1.8GHz Intel Core i7-8550U processor that delivers better performance, but costs almost double the Flex 14. Again, the Lenovo Flex 6 14 i7 also gets a better chip, but for those on a budget, the AMD chip used on our review unit keeps the price affordable, but is well tuned for daily productivity.
Where the Flex doesn’t excel more is in graphics. It uses a Radeon RX Vega 8 graphics card that limits you to casual gaming. If your needs include some casual gaming, you’ll want to consider a 2-in-1 like the Asus ZenBook 14 that sports a discrete Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU, that can handle a few demanding games.
Battery Life
Like most modern notebooks, the Flex has a non-removable battery that works for portability. The battery manages just over 8 hours 36 minutes of endurance on daily productivity. For a portable 2-in-1, this is a good feat thanks to a Full HD display and efficient CPU that offer hopes for longevity. Sure, this is a laptop that will last you well into the evening of a long working day.
Should I buy it?
Yes. If you won’t be playing games, the Lenovo Flex 14 (81SS0005US) 2-in-1 feels good in hand, provides all the performance you’ll need to be productive and it lasts a very long in doing both.

Customized Gaming Laptops - Five Things You Should Think About When Building a Gaming Laptop

Gone are the days when you would certainly have been laughed at if you walked right into an all-night LAN celebration carrying your reliable laptop and expecting to hang with the large computer towers standing at every person's feet. The gaming laptop of today sport substantial, crisp LCD displays, innovative video cards and also full-size key-boards. Not only could these gaming notebook computer hang with the basic cumbersome computer tower, yet they can also be bought fully custom-made to satisfy the specific specifications of any type of gamer. Because there are many customizable elements in these laptops, a conventional technique has actually been to develop what some call a "system building contractor." This is the page where you reach include and also deduct elements via drop-down menus in order to create the best gaming notebook computer for your needs as well as your budget. This sort of page can be frustrating to somebody just beginning the gaming laptop shopping procedure, but it is really convenient if you take it simply one component each time. The Gaming Laptop GPU This is the heart of a gaming laptop. The GPU (graphics processing device) belongs that will make or break your gaming experience. If your GPU isn't up to snuff, your games will not play. Without getting into particular models since they alter constantly, the key is that the graphics card not share resources with the computer system. A gaming laptop video clip card have to have its very own memory aboard. Usually speaking, common off-the-shelf laptops will certainly not have this feature. The two existing manufacturers of laptop video clip cards are nVIDIA and ATI. Without the Screen, You Do Not Have Much What great is a gaming laptop without a display that can actually provide your video games? Now certainly, you can connect an external display, however if you can't really play on your gaming laptop without that external monitor, then your laptop isn't really all that mobile. While the technology as well as terminology for LCDs (fluid crystal display screens) can occupy an entire write-up by itself, there are a couple of key points to bear in mind when choosing from offered LCD options for your new gaming laptop: native resolution, aspect proportion, rise and fall time, contrast, seeing angle, as well as dimension. Indigenous Resolution. The indigenous resolution is merely the setup at which your display will certainly render the clearest images. Considering that games are frequently moving, somewhat soft sides might not bother most gamers, yet bear in mind that while this is your gaming laptop, you will likely additionally use it for various other things like surfing the Web. If the resolution isn't really comfortable, you typically aren't going to delight in using it. Facet Proportion. As you probably understand, a cinema display as well as a TELEVISION display have different percentages. Furthermore, there are widescreen style gaming laptops as well as there are laptops that have a conventional facet proportion-- like that of a TELEVISION. A widescreen layout best gaming laptop under 40000 (a 16:10 ratio) has advantages as well as negative aspects. Many video games today do not have a widescreen mode. This means that the video game may stretch across the screen and become altered or you might run it with black bars that complete the sides. There are methods to obtain around this, however if you want a from package ideal experience, the widescreen style may not be for you. That claimed, a widescreen LCD does use a lot of display realty for web surfing and other sort of computer system tasks, and also a video game played in a vast format setting supplies an expansive field of vision. Because of this, there are some really loyal widescreen-loving gamers available. Do your finest to find a balance in between existing as well as future innovation and exactly what your computer routines are past gaming. Even with its constraints, the widescreen format is found on the majority of the most effective gaming notebook computer. Rise and Fall. The expression 'fluctuate time' is used to explain how rapid the LCD could respond to adjustments. In the past, LCDs have actually been pestered with the failure to render photos as fast as video game can spew them out. This presents a significant problem for laptop players since if they cannot see the photos effectively, they cannot play the game correctly. This lag could imply the difference between playing to win and barely playing. Luckily, gaming laptop LCDs have come a long way and they are only getting better. While as soon as it was impossible to game on a laptop screen, the gaming laptop LCDs of today offer 25 milliseconds or less fluctuate time while generally off-the-shelf laptops have 40 milliseconds or less rise and fall time. Contrast. If a gaming laptop LCD has poor comparison, that suggests that the black locations aren't quite as black as they must be as well as the white areas typically aren't fairly as white. This is necessary to a laptop gamer because you need to see the video game appropriately-- as it was planned to be seen-- in order to contend successfully. Look for a comparison proportion of 400:1 or greater in a personalized gaming laptop. Watching Angle. This is an often-overlooked LCD showcase, yet it must be considered if you are constructing a gaming notebook computer. Several excellent quality LCDs on the marketplace are hard to see plainly at any angle besides straight on as well as at the appropriate height. This can be a large drawback to gaming on a LCD screen since a display with inadequate viewing angles won't allow others to see the screen as you play and harms your sight when doing something as straightforward as changing your seats, which could need you to after that get used to setting of your laptop screen to see it appropriately again. But gaming on a laptop does not suggest that you are destined have bad watching angles. There are LCDs on the marketplace that have incredible watching angles-- approximately 120 levels. These screens not just permit gaming sightseers, but they likewise allow you to use that giant, crisp display to do points like play motion pictures and even make discussions. Size. In a gaming notebook computer, size is whatever. Most gaming laptops are huge, durable pieces of electronic devices. Having a maker of this stature suggests you likewise get to have a large screen. The very best gaming notebook computer LCD displays out there are at least 15 inches. A group fave is a 17 inch widescreen (despite having the obstacles that widescreens existing). Largr 19 inch laptop screens are just starting to be spoken about with customers expecting to see 19 inch or perhaps big models on the marketplace in the future. The very best method to truly obtain a feel for exactly what laptop LCDs are all about is to travel to a neighborhood box shop and also play with the LCDs on the display laptops while bearing in mind what you have checked out below. While these laptops are not custom-made gaming laptops, you can see just what the sizes actually resemble, what various resolutions look like, as well as exactly what the seeing angles genuinely are so you could start to develop your very own choices. The RAM - Exactly What Kind and What Does It Cost?? The RAM (random accessibility memory) discovered in laptops is called SODIMM (small outline double inline memory component). The RAM is responsible for your handling power. If you are purchasing a personalized gaming laptop, you will generally be provided DDR2 RAM with the choice of what does it cost? you want in your computer. The majority of high-end video games being released today require 1GB of RAM for optimum, lag-free game play. Some people are opting for 2GB to ensure that they could run multiple applications together with the game and also not experience any kind of reduce in reaction time. This is a huge investment and also you want to be able to utilize this gaming laptop for time in the future. Many personalized laptops are individual upgradeable, however this must be left approximately experts. The CPU - Not Just Mobile Modern Technology The CPUs (central processing units) found in lots of customized gaming laptops correspond those found in desktop computers. These chips need a large amount of cooling power, which in turn could make your laptop louder than lightweight, reduced power ultra portables when the fans kick on as well as it can become rather cozy to the touch. Don't be surprised by this-- it is regular. And also with these desktop processors comes yelling power! Do not lose your money on the current CPU launch that likely has a filled with air cost (and that rate will likely boil down soon). Stick to a current CPU rate that is used by a reliable custom-made gaming laptop reseller, and also you actually can't fail. The Gaming Laptop Hard Drive This is the final element to consider when constructing a gaming laptop. Laptop hard drives come in a selection of speeds as well as capabilities ranging from 4200 to 7200 RPMs and also 40 to over 100 GBs. For the most part, this is user preference. Whenever possible, choose a 7200 RPM hard disk drive, but if you require a capacity not offered in this speed, it's fine to opt for the 5400 RPM drive. Take a look at your present computer, as well as purchase your capacity based on this. Likewise bear in mind that with many personalized gaming laptop producers, you have the ability to upgrade or add one more hard disk at a later day. At the end of the day, gaming notebook computer are about power. Don't expect a twelve-pound notebook with a desktop processor, countless fans, a huge heatsink, as well as independent video card to last on battery power all that long. Yet do make certain to take pleasure in the jawdrops that you'll obtain as you walk right into your regular LAN celebration place with your brand-new, screaming-fast gaming notebook computer. Break that puppy open, fire it up, and also stand free from the drool as you take on your preferred game with fellow players gathered around to absorb the action. Gaming is not just for desktops anymore!

Namecheap

Who Created Namecheap & What Do They Offer?

So this review is all about Namecheap, the domain registrar and web hosting company founded by Richard Kirkendall in 2000. According to the Namecheap Wikipedia page, it was voted best domain registrar in a Lifehacker poll taken in 2010. I have personally used Namecheap to purchase domains. As the name suggests, I have found them to be quite cheap and affordable with their domain pricing. Since it's beginnings in 2000, Namecheap has branched out from being just a domain registrar to offering much more including web hosting, apps & security. So what exactly does Namecheap offer that it's big competition, GoDaddy, doesn't? Let's take a look at exactly what products they sell, their pricing and what the features and benefits offer us as affiliate marketers in the online marketplace. Namecheap Domain Products Let's begin here with the Namecheap domain list of products. According to their website Namecheap offer the following:

Domain Transfers New TLD's (Top Level Domains) Personal Domains most commonly used for resumes and job applications Marketplace to buy and sell domains at a profit Premium DNS (Domain Name System) Resolution - SLA (Service Level Agreeements) in case of website downtime Namecheap offers compensatory credit Domain privacy and security including SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Certificates Free DNS Hosting - Namecheap's secure, reliable, geographically dispersed name servers can significantly increase your site’s speed and performance. Namecheap's exclusive Easy WP (it appears to still be in Beta stage as there is a "Coming Soon" announcement on their sales page) allows you to deploy and manage a WordPress site within less than 30 seconds. Pricing to get you started is $8.88USD then an annual renewal of $48.88 per year. Namecheap Managed WordPress Hosting entitles you to

VPN (Virtual Private Network) or Reseller Hosting cPanel / WebHostManager reseller hosting powered by high performance hosting allows you to host multiple websites or become a successful web host reseller with Namecheap's in-class reseller hosting. They also provide a Juniper/Cisco network, which delivers fast, reliable, secure hosting. Whether you are outgrowing your Shared hosting and want more control with the ability to host your own sites, or you are planning to venture into selling web hosting as a business, Namecheap has a good range of packages to select from. To view all pricing and packages for reseller hosting refer to the image below. Simply click "Next" or "Previous" beneath to toggle between both screenshots: Looking comparatively at pricing between Namecheap and GoDaddy, it appears that GoDaddy offer cheaper options in terms of their packaging. Go Daddy's most basic WordPress hosting package starts at $5.49 per month so there is a savings of $3.39. However cheaper does not always mean better so that is always something you should consider prior to purchasing any form of web hosting. VPS (Virtual Private Server) Hosting Sharing of a main host computer in a data centre. One host can carry multiple virtual machines where access is completely independent of each other. When logging into a VPS, it will look like your home Windows computer, save for some cosmetic differences. This service is usually used for various tasks from hosting websites to running remotely operated software. The benefits of this service are high speed connections to the internet plus the ability to access the VPS from any internet enabled device that has a remote access client such as an Android smartphone or iPad tablet computer. Nameceap offers 3 types of VPS Hosting including Self Managed, Managed or Fully Managed andthe XEN virtualization platform with full root access, coupled with a choice of Operating Systems and optional cPanel, makes for a seriously feature-rich Virtual Private Server. Email Private Hosting With full browser support, Namecheap's private email slick interface makes email enjoyable again. With no expensive software requirements and no privacy concerns, their webmail is perfect for individuals and businesses. Increased mobile support of Apple iPhone, Android (all vendors), Blackberry, Windows Mobile (all vendors), Windows Phone and Nokia, and for advanced users they offer support for ActiveSync, CalDav, WebDav and other protocols. Groupware support providing the ability to manage multiple private accounts. To view all Email Hosting options including pricing and packages refer to the image below. Simply click "Next" or "Previous" beneath to toggle between screenshots. Migrate To Namecheap The last product in Namecheap's range of web hosting packages is it's Migration service. Completely free of charge, you are able to migrate from your existing web host over to Namecheap without any disruption over to their Shared Hosting package. Pricing is exactly the same as the Shared Hosting packages (click here to view) and you can transfer your existing domain and website over to the US Namecheap servers. Namecheap offer a "best effort" migration service in that they migrate all website, email and data files over to your new Shared hosting package without causing any interference to your site. The entire process is handled by Namecheap, so it's simply a matter of getting on with building your site and operating your business. Namecheap Applications In addition to domains and hosting, Namecheap also offer a range of applications that can assist website builders with the business of streamlining their operations and making things run at a smoother and continuous pace. Continuity is an essential ingredient for the small business owner, and applications like those available from Namecheap are offered on a monthly subscription basis. The applications are either web tools or site builders and most are third party vendors such as G-Suite and Weebly. However there are a few that are built by Namecheap themselves. You can view all of the available Namecheap applications below. To view them in their entirety simply click the "Next" or Previous" links beneath the images. Namecheap Marketplace
The other service Namecheap offer is a Marketplace that is quite similar to the GoDaddy Auctions service. Marketplace is a place for buyers and sellers to exchange, buy and swap domains. Some of the domains sold here are TLD's or Top Level Domains which can sell for quite a pretty penny. Others can just be ordinary domains that people have bought and are no longer using. So if you've found yourself in this position, which I have on many an occasion, then this is a great place to get your cash back so it doesn't have to mean that you lose money on something you haven't used. At the time of writing, the domain up for grabs with the largest price tag was A$65,546.93 for videobanneradvertising.com. So if you have a spare $65k to throw down that is what your money will buy you. My point is that this can be quite a lucrative business and there are people who make very good money from buying and selling on domains. It is literally like house flipping but instead of a house it's web property. The Namecheap Marketplace is fast becoming one of the biggest of it's kind as it increases in popularity, other than GoDaddy Auctions. Namecheap Security - SSL Certificates The web can be a dangerous place and operating a website can require a great deal of security. Hackers are unfortunately

becoming more and more innovative in the methods they use and as a consequence we are having to take more stringent measures to protect our data. This is, particularly the case for business owners who rely heavily on their websites for income. Protection in this case is an absolute necessity, not only for the site owner, but for the safeguarding of it's customers too. SSL Certificates are a great way to offer peace of mind particularly if you are operating an e-commerce site that is reguarlarly exchanging the personal and/or financial information and data of your customers. If this is you, then you can't afford not to have a good SSL Certificate protecting your site. Namecheap are currently offering a deal for their Greenbar SSL's where you receive 39% off of Enterprise Level Security for just $88.88USD. This is high level of security and a great incentive for your customers to buy from you with the guarantee that no one is going to be able to access their private details. Click on the banner below to get yours now.
Namecheap Security - WhoIs Guard
For anyone who has ever bought a domain, you'd be aware of those endless telemarketing calls. You know the ones. The companies that call constantly offering you the best website building services in the world for a small fee of thousands of dollars!!! You know exactly the ones I'm referring to. You see, if you've bought a domain and haven't purchased WhoIs Guard or a service similar to it, then these telemarketers have found your personal information from the WhoIs Database. This is a database that absolutely anyone can go to and access all of the personal details that you provided upon purchasing your new domain. Annoying right? Well there is a way to protect you from this and Namecheap have the solution with WhoIs Guard. With this service in place, info like your name, postal and email address, phone numbers and more are no longer available for public consumption. So no more marketing firms, spammers or online fraudsters calling at all hours of the day trying to take you for your cash. Namecheap offer this service for $3.78 per year or get your first year free when you register a new domain.
Why Namecheap & GoDaddy Are Like Apples & Oranges & Why My Preference Is To Go With A Smaller Web Host All in all I think when you compare Namecheap & GoDaddy, you are literally comparing apples from oranges. Both fruit just

different. I couldn't say conclusively which is better though. I think they both offer pretty good pricing for domains but I think Namecheap wins in this area because they are a few dollars cheaper per year. After all they began as a registrar so it stands to reason that this is their area of strength. They also both offer reasonably priced web hosting, although for me I'd rather go with a smaller company because I've just often found that with the bigger hosts the customer service tends to be lacking a little. The smaller companies just seem to go that extra step for their customers because they are usually being managed by the owners who actually care about losing our business. Why Namecheap Wins For Their Good Customer Service

That being said, I've never really had a bad experience with Namecheap, whereas GoDaddy is a completely different story. I guess it's really just based on personal preference and what has occurred in your dealings with each. So the jury is out for me on this one guys. Sorry if it seems I'm sitting on the fence a little here. I will bring updates should I ever have another experience with Namecheap which no doubt I will because they are normally who I use to purchase my domains from. I've just found them the best for this particular service so they are my go to. I will probably only ever use them for domains, and possibly invest in the WhoIs Guard as there is truly nothing more annoying than those phone calls. Anyway, hope you've found this review helpful. All in all I'd definitely feel safe recommending Namecheap for any of their services as I have always had positive interactions. Let me know if you've found otherwise in the comments section below. I'd love to hear from you. Thanks again. Rachael, Click & Earn Online Read the full article
