Benedalek Sabrebatch

So this one is a result of a slightly convoluted in-joke! 😁

Back In The Day it was very common to refer to the actor Benedict Cumberbatch with every variation of syllables under the sun instead of his actual name (I had to concentrate to type that correctly!). Naturally, as my brother & I are Whovians, our version became Benedalek!

As for the sabre... When Benedalek was interviewing for Star Trek Into Darkness, he was asked what Star Wars character he'd most like to be... A lightsabre of course! Vwoom vwoom!

The icing on the cake (or the dalek!) came when we discovered the prank played on the Star Trek cast by Simon Pegg and the makeup team... 🤪 So Benedalek Sabrebatch has spots of "neutron cream" all over!

I had a lot of fun making this art! 🤣

Help, I designed my own fuckin' lightsabre It's a lightsabre pike specifically because I'm terrified of accidentally chopping something off with a full laser sword, so a pike/naginata style weapon seems a safer bet, plus I love polearm and staff weaponry. What's that on the end? It's a big shiny rock for bonking people on the head with >:3

Enjoyed the rough-dry-brush Vader doodle I made earlier this month so decided to do some more rough Vader sketches and the next thing I knew I was making a short animatic, heavily inspired by that one scene from Rogue One, tons of Samurai movies/manga/anime and ofcourse Genndy Tartakovsky's body of work.

I'm tempted to add more frames maybe even some gore and fix up the sounds(maybe add the cantina music in the bg) but that seems highly unlikely now that Ghost of Tsushima has finally been ported to the PC 👻
