How come no one talks about leucisim? Its always albinism this or albino that, most people will end up assuming animals with leucisim are albino and that kinda upsets me... because while everyone is trying to get a hold of albino animals because of their white fur/feather/scales/whatever(I'm just gonna say coat for faster spelling) they completely over look how beautiful leuistic animals are! Plus they are softer because the lack of melanin makes their coat that way. Albino animals tend to have health issues, like blindness and a shorter life span, meanwhile leuistic animals are perfectly healthy.
Heres a photo of my schools chicken that hatched white, compared to her siblings, and instead of getting speckled, stayed white minus a few black feathers (ignore the top hat), her name is Indy.
Animals with leucisim will also have paler skin and their eyes will still be black.

@todaysbird I went to the park today and saw this cream colored duck. I can't tell if it's just a different breed or if it's leuistic (I think that's the right word, I'm not sure) i couldn't get the best photos because my camera sucks, sorry they're bad quilty.

Stupid question but how come naturally paler birds, seagulls, snowy owls, etc, don't face similar levels of feather breakage as leuistic and albino birds from other species?
Feather structure is a very complex topic that I am not the most qualified to give a full coverage of as a raptor specialist.
The most barebones summary I can give you though is that out simply they are structured differently depending on if pigmentation is naturally going to occur in them or not.
However, you may also notice that the primary feathers on most gulls, terns, and other seabirds that need to sustain long and hard flights tend to be heavily pigmented to offer additional structure.
In general terms it isn’t uncommon to see white birds have some color to their flight feathers.
And exceptions to this rule tend to be birds that only engage in short flights to avoid predators or at least flights that are non-intensive. Snowy owls are a special case because owl feathers have a very unique structure to be soft and allow a lot of air to flow through and around them to create a silent flight. Because of the way the air interacts with their feathers, they don’t experience as much direct air resistance slamming against their feathers.
There is more to all of this that involves the difference between diluted pigment and absent pigment, but again that’s far from my specialization.

I think Tsunami's time changed the lives of sophisticated SeaWings heavily.
When Fin's first son hatches, when the dragonets are routinely put through the animus test, when Otter is shown to be the first confirmation that animi still exist - Queen Anemone panics and outlaws animus magic in the Kingdom of the Sea.
Statues are broken down, and are considered a light taboo, as horror stories of Orca's carving spread through the kingdom. "Better not to be watched by the dead," some SeaWings say, a phrase explaining the lack of carved statues.
After the death of Anemone, rumors twist like vines around the SeaWings, claiming leuistics are animi, and evil. The superstition grows over the years.
The Island Palace is restored, and the Summer Palace becomes a place only for meeting with diplomats. If the fire-breathers know where it is, they can't surprise bomb it...

What races would Jack and Ennis be in DND? And I mean if you were writing them in a DND universe, not the kind of characters they would pick for themselves (because let's be honest, Ennis would never play DND (unless Jack forced him to try it (then he'd probably just be a human with no remarkable features and would generally have a miserable time))). “Human” is also a valid answer, btw. I have my own thoughts about this, but I'm not a DnD expert.
Oh that's a fun question
I am also not a DnD expert—I play, but end up asking "wait what's that mean?" or "okay, no, but which dice do I have to roll?" every 5 to 10 minutes. My friends I play with are wonderfully patient lol
But to the actual question
I have immediate gut answers for what classes they'd be—Jack's a ranger, Ennis is a druid—but I gotta think more about races so, 'scuse me while I pull up dnd5e.wikidot.com.....
Okay
So, I'm thinking Ennis would be a Kenku, a raven person, but probably with a leuistic coloration.
By the reference books, Kenku often consider themselves to be cursed, have very strong memories, and—depending on which ref you're looking at—can only speak using words that they've heard spoken. That all feels fitting for Ennis.
For Jack...half elf. Why? Half elves are described as "walking in two worlds but truly belonging to neither," have boosted charisma, and have an love for nature. That sounds like Jack to me.
Also, y'know what? If anybody could talk Ennis into playing DnD it would be his daughters and he would absolutely play a human and be confused the whole time, but I actually think he'd make better sense of all the dice than I do.

Actually judging by the fact the cat has other colors theirs a higher chance it's a bicolor cat that is mostly white rather then leuistic! /Nm (I just really like cats)
I wasn’t being literal when I said Leucistic- bcs I don’t think it’s possible for them to be Leucistic considering lots of cats just have white coats (like you said-).
But anyway, blue and white cat yes yes.

I wish neon pink axolotl wasn't so trendy. I do not like pink because it's not a nice color on its own for aesthetic reasons and also because when they are bright bright pink and not regular leuistic or albino pinkish without natural wild type pigmentation it's because their sensitive amphibian skin is irritated and they turn bright pink because of things like ammonia burn. Please no more hot pink axolotl. Could we have some wild type colored axolotl toys? I would like a stuffed axolotl that is rough skin newt colors. I would make one but I can't use sewing because surgery right now but I have a pattern I could make salamanders with. I also technically finished a Sly (except for the hands and feet. They are little nub arms tied off with string. Which makes sense because if underbed monsters are like gecko salamander it means they can replace their hands and feet if they get eaten off. My official Sly is in his chair watching from afar so I have him to look at across the room and Sly II is at the head of my bed under my pillow and the Sly i made I succeeded making him in time for my surgety so i could bribg him to the hospital he is under my left sidr while my pillow is undet my rigjt side. I also wish I had mister alligator.
My weighted axolotl my friend Drew gave me for my birthdau and my green and grey axolotl I got from the night market are also under my body. This allowed me to eat pizza while staying in bed.
I wish I had more axolotl. I wish I had giant stuffed Underbed monster tail as body pillow. I wish I was inside belly of monster all snuggled up and cozy. Wrapped up tight and squishy inside plush monster belly. I wish I had an ambulatory balloon that is like a small hot hair balloon jau yso that I can always float a little bit off the ground. Like what if I had an inflatable ring pillow around my body and then I lied in that?
Did you know I do not feel too hot post Op? I actually feel a little chilly. It is weird. I wonder if that will be permanent and my surgery fixed my circulatory issues what if it did that would be so awesome. It's a 50 50 shot I think. Because it fixes my circulatory issues in other ways. I wish instead of drains there was teleporters that teleported the cherry coolaid out.
I wish I was a salamander in real life

get leuistic jackdawed
I’m curious about what you guys think! Remember, many of these have partial forms, so are not always a solid black or white animal.

I forgot to say about this fellow I encountered when I was at my local Denny’s.
The bird was an European Starling and out of all of them I spotted a rare white and nearly goldish one, Majority of the pictures I have of the bird is in the shade (this is when he was in the parking lot and I edited the picture). He seemed to shy away from the other birds…(I find it sad when a leuistic bird is an outcast among others…). At least he was pecking at insects on the ground.
