Most Sherlock Holmes adaptations I've seen tend to place their Final Problem towards the mid point of the series (or even a bit earlier) - it's also in my opinion the best way of going about it, so you have time enough for the characters to adjust after the reunion but they know each other well enough for the events of Fina to be devastating.

Sherlock & Co is done with 20 of the adventures. How many are there? Fifty-something? Almost sixty? Let's say we'll be entering mid-point territory after the 25th story.

So let's pretend for a moment that we have 5 more stories until The Final Problem. Ok.

Estimating an adventure at 3 episodes each, that would mean little over 3 months - maybe 3 and a half? Starting, of course, from the end of Sign of Four, which will be somewhere in December.

So let's say 3, maybe 4 months into 2025. That would be, what? Late march, early april?

Early april?

John having to tell the listeners that Sherlock is dead, in early april?

Quick calendar search reveals what I was praying it would - the 1st of april will be on a Tuesday next year.

i can see CC being straight cuz sometimes she doesn't give masc lesbian, she gives straight-up DUDE or bro. it's a weird vibe for sure and i can't quite figure it out

i can’t quite figure it out either. sometimes i feel like people assume she’s a lesbian just because she has masculine features/doesn’t have a feminine face. some food for thought: if she has a bunch of ppl saying these things about her now that she’s got a bunch of eyes on her, she’s probably been hearing it her whole life. maybe that’s why a lot of ppl can’t imagine anything else.

on the other hand i feel like with some people you can just tell??? like we wouldn’t be saying this for no reason. even in her old photos from high/middle school she sticks out like a sore thumb, she looks very masc/tomboy-ish. also i’ve had friends from basketball that act the same way, they don’t bother to present feminine, and they insist they’re straight too.

i can honestly see the vision both ways. i can either see her end up with a feminine woman, someone like kate (martin) (a lot of white lesbians in the wnba have that kind of dynamic you can’t tell which one is the feminine one), or a really tall black guy. i can see her being straight just not with…him. if she ends up with him and doesn’t pull a candace parker after like 5 years i’ll be VERY surprised.

I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on Keeley's mum! I always wondered what she was like and why Roy didn't like her

So I think she's like a former pageant queen or model or something who got pregnant on accident in her early 20s, so she simultaneously resents Keeley for ~ruining her body/relationship (her dad ditched them immediately when he found out her mom wasn't going to get an abortion) and wants to live vicariously through her.

She has her in like dance and modeling gigs and stuff from the time she can walk and is always VERY particular about her weight, appearance, demeanor (it's extremely important that she's "ladylike" and never gets messy or talks back to photographers or anything like that) etc etc. She's just generally overbearing and manipulative and kind of expects Keeley to take care of her financially and emotionally in a way that's not developmentally appropriate

I think they were no-contact for a while after Keeley moved to London and sort of realized with distance and perspective that what her mom did was a form of emotional abuse even though she didn't like. Overtly scream at her or call her names or whatever, so she essentially tells her that she has to sort herself out if she wants to be in Keeley's life, and she can reach out again once she's in therapy and ready to apologize/respect Keeley's boundaries.

She eventually does, and they start to repair their relationship, but then her mom moves to London and it's like. Too much (some parent/child relationships are just better and with a little distance) so she's glad when she moves away again

As for Roy, I think he's just very protective and sort of one-strike-and-you're-out when it comes to hurting the people he loves, and he doesn't really get how complex it can be with an abusive parent so he just doesn't fuck with her period
