“can i ask you a question?” she murmurs quietly. she sucks in a deep breath, holding back her tears. “sure… though i dont know if i will have an answer for you. let alone it being the answer you want to hear, but i at least owe you that much.” “why did you love me?” she looks up at him. they stare at each other for a minute, silently; as if one was trying to read the other.  “i could ask you the same thing. why did you love me as well?” “just answer the question.” she retorts. “well-” he starts, he looks down at his scuffed converse as he runs his fingers through his hair. he thinks back to when she first caught his eye. he smiles as he starts to remember everything about her that he had previously started to forget. like the way her eyes lit up when he made her pancakes, such a normal thing yet such a strong reaction. he remembers how she cant fall asleep at night without a blanket and how irises are her favorite flower. all these things about her start flooding his mind. back then, it was all the little things that made her seem big to him.  “you always outshone everyone… no matter where you went.” he finishes, their memories still fresh in his mind.  “so then why are you leaving?” she questions. the way her voice shakes forces him to look her in the eyes. god… those eyes. her eyes that were once a beautiful cerulean, now turned to a slate grey. the light in them had vanished as they drowned in her tears.  “i guess someone else turned out to be brighter than you. who would have thought?” he responds, breaking eye contact and turning away from her. she stood there for a minute, as if waiting for another answer, but there was nothing left for him to say. so all he did was stand there and listen as her footsteps retreated. she was walking away from him; in the exact opposite direction he wanted her to be heading. he continued to stand there until the world around him went silent. until all he could hear was the sound of his heavy breathing as he choked on his tears.

its crazy how much of an 180 i can turn on someone who used to like me before like there is literally anyone else sane enough to crush on and while i am still flattered i wonder if there is something wrong with me bc while i do have My due respect for his justified tastes and preferences in general or whatever i fear i may have only made myself some easy simple target to pick on bc i showed him the least personality ever i fear that i am just a superficial object to romanticize upon and honestly i like to be liked generally or whenever it happens but id rather be known before he thinks i am something to be worthy falling for 💀 💀 i dont know why i feel this uncomfortable being liked by someone unexpected enough bc hes perhaps the most sane and “decent” as a boy can be i guess in my circles but i suppose i hate to be liked for something arguably seemingly superficial by a guy who i thought better of…. and who i probably just hoped would pick his love interests with Better attributes and evaluation first ??? .. (we barely talked and to be fair he doesnt even talk much to other Girlz)
