imagine the scene
you're an adventurer, seeking such things, you decided to climb the tallest mountain in your region
You successfully have climbed at least two thirds of the mountain, when
It begins to snow
You decide that the trek back down the mountain is more dangerous, so you keep ascending, in an attempt to find a cave to seek shelter in
But the snow doesn't let up...
In fact
It begins to snow harder
You keep climbing, keep pushing
Hoping to find that cave that could save your life
But you never do
Your limbs growing stuff, you keep pushing, ever harder, ever stronger
Believing your goal is within reach
but it was never meant to be....
You collapse to the ground, your limbs frozen in atrophy
Unable to think of anything but your legacy
Your emaciated corpse only to serve as a marker for other adventurers in the future to learn from
To not make the same mistake you did
Your mind adrift, you open your eyes one last time
But all you see
Is an endless
Haze
Of
White....

Mom come pick me up the voices are loud again (the image of the poster children of Creepypasta in. Slender's Mansion again. All as one big fuck ass family. Fucked up one with issues abroad. But also one of mutual understanding and what if I want them to heal and grow as people. Forever changed by the events or even what they are fundamentally but still being able to live in this world as who they are now with a support group of beings similar yet so distant from themselves. They can never go back or completely change who they are without damaging themselves or there's nothing else to go back to anymore, so all they can do is move forward. And kill people, that's always a bonus)

general relationship headcanons —proxies x fem!proxy!reader
including: ticci toby, masky, hoodie and kate the chaser (individually)
suggestive mentions, mentions of murder, creepypasta masky and creepypasta hoodie (but with some features of MH tim and brian).
i'll make a distinction between Tim and Brian from MH and Tim and Brian from Creepypasta, if i'm writing of both and i don't mention if it's the creepypasta version, then it's from Marble Hornets! but in this case, i mentioned that is their creepypasta version (if it's said like that? (ᗒᗩᗕ))
i did my best with my proxies characterization, hope you like it! 💗⭐
Tumblr media
Masky/Tim Wright
oh Tim my beloved.
one thing is to interact with Tim outside of work and another one to interact with Tim as Masky while working.
he's protective way too much.
please understand him, everything is already very fucked up and even more to being controlled by Slenderman.
y'all live in cabins in the woods! and even though you have your own, you tend to spend a lot of time in Tim's cabin.
since you started dating, you both made one thing clear: private relationship.
and to be honest, helped you quite a bit.
it didn't suit either of you for others to know exactly what's going on.
when y'all aren't deeply under his command, Tim is more soft and more talkative. his sarcasm makes you smile and he then sometimes initiate some kisses and physical contact.
but you are more of the one who initiates it.
when he has missions where the two of you don't go together, he tries to bring something to you.
but when you both go together on a mission, you take things and he covers them up and also you both deviate a little from the path or take a little longer to return (if you understand me wink wink)
but it isn't so common that you deviate from the path.
use honey, dear or your name
he holds your hand when you are together.
sometimes he wants to be alone but he always tells you before you give him space (something that he had to learn and it's difficult for him but he tries to do it to avoid arguments between you, he is an exhausted guy).
when this happens you go back to your cabin or take a walk nearby until Tim is the one who comes to find you.
his jealousy is more of a pessimistic comments to himself.
he loves you and he doesn't want to lose you.
he genuinely cares about others despite his reserved demeanor.
when you go shopping, even if he says that only what is just and necessary, he buys you what you like without anyone knowing.
but when he's Masky.
well... it's almost the same attitude.
he doesn't soften his voice to you.
just wants to do the mission, finish it and leave.
but also, that everything goes well and ends well.
he actually talks more than Hoodie.
more reserved.
he doesn't hold your hand at all.
but his protective attitude is still there!
if you get hurt during one of the missions, he will help you.
says your name, no nickname, no pet names.
but in the end, he knows you are his partner and his girlfriend.
"look at her, i would die for her, i would kill for her" vibe.
"older sis of her family x older brother of his family" vibes/trope
his kisses are long but with a strong charge of emotion.
he's a soft dom.
and again, the difference between when he's outside of work and when he's at work is not much, it's just that he acts more distant and less expressive, but for the rest, he is still a big protector.
he also values autonomy!
don't get him wrong, he just enjoys seeing his girlfriend being self-sufficient, especially with the life y'all lead.
it's between Toby or Brian that teases both of you.
Kate doesn't care much.
he loves it when you squeeze his shoulders! even though your hands hurt from how tense they are.
please give him words of affirmation and quality time :(
his love language would be acts of service and quality time!
your dates are going to the nearest city or town or just hanging out inside his cabin or yours.
there are times when it's already daylight but he doesn't let you go, for him, you're the only that can keep him putting up with that shit any longer.
and vice versa.
the sound of leaves colliding against each other thanks to the gentle gust of air was the background noise of the scene.
your head was resting gently on his shoulder, somewhat snuggled into him being greeted by the strong smell of coffee and cigarettes, his arm around your body to be more in contact with you. Tim's breathing was a little slow, you thought maybe it was because of all the cigarettes he smoked or the scene was really peaceful, a calmness that you always appreciated.
"Tim, honey..." your voice brought him out of his thoughts.
"yeah, dear?" you opened your lips, thinking a little about the words you would say. "if we get through this, will we be able to live far away and have a life together?"
your question made him go back into his thoughts, that question was so sad but Tim knew the answer for a long time.
"honey, we both already have a life together and when we least expect it, we will be living in a house somewhat away from the woods."
"love you" your lips joined together forming a beautiful connection and dance, that words were not enough because of how much you loved each other.
although you both know that it's increasingly a distant dream but he couldn't say no to his future wife.
Hoodie/Brian Thomas
ALRIGHT HEAR ME OUT.
Brian is a great boyfriend.
Hoodie absolutely not lol.
i started with Brian outside the power of the operator/slenderman.
brian is a golden retriever vibe, something in his past remains present and that is his charisma.
although his charisma is later interrupted by more sarcastic tones. after all, he's not the same as years ago.
the first to know about your relationship with Brian was Tim.
after all, he's his friend.
then the next to know it was Kate and Toby almost at the same time.
Brian does the best he can, knowing the shit y'all live, he tries to make sure to have at least some good moments within that... exhausting reality you both live in.
use honey, babe and love.
the kind of give you some flowers that are picked up in the forest.
remember when i say y'all live in cabins? well, he also has his own but he's constantly in yours.
his love language is words of affirmation and quality time!
he's not a jealous type at all, yeah sometimes he is jealous but he's more the kind of "yeah, she's my girlfriend, all mine, look at her because that's the only nearest thing that you're going to have something about her" "proud that she's my girlfriend, so what?"
your relationship is also private!
your dates consist in going to the nearest city.
a great kisser (i still hc that he's the top 1 among them lol)
an absolute service dom.
when he sends both of you on missions, he tries to do the hardest parts (although you don't care much about that later and end up doing too).
the cool aunt and cool uncle couple vibes.
but when he's working as Hoodie... well
you missed your Brian when he's not completely under the slenderman's control.
i mean y'all are completely but when he put y'all to "work".
when he's as Hoodie, he doesn't speak.
he just sighs, pants, grunts but doesn't say a word.
but those sounds sound different, because he carries a voice changer inside of his hoodie and balaclava.
Hoodie just treats you as an equal like the other proxies.
kind of stubborn (but not as toby)
Hoodie genuinely cares for you, if you go the wrong way, he grabs of your clothes and pulls you back to the right path.
there aren't many displays of affection when he's in the mission, to be honest.
but it doesn't mean that he doesn't do it completely, he is, along with Toby, the one who mind the least about showing affection (knowing the current situation everyone is in).
but he adores you, and even though you're under Slenderman's command, he's afraid that he will do something against you.
your footsteps that made the old dry leaves scattered on the dirt ground crunch made Brian turn his head to you.
"hey babe" he showed you a smile, revealing his small tooth gap.
"i didn't know you had arrived" the sound of crushed leaves began to get closer to Brian, you stopped your walk when you were already next to him. "Tim told me you got injured"
there was no response from Brian, he kept his gaze in the direction where you were but without seeing you as such, appreciating the green grass with brown tones due to dryness. the only thing he could enjoy about this shit was nature in its purest state and you by his side.
he let out a small chuckle and looked away, now looking at the lake in front of you. "just a little scratch".
your mouth curved into a smile, taking your hands out of the pocket of the large and thick jacket you were wearing, you ran your hand over his abdomen, causing him to press his lips together. "you got me, you got me" now you let out a little laugh.
there was a brief silence, the sound of leaves rustling against each other from the gusts of wind that appeared was the only noise between you and him. his hand slid down your back, at the height of your waist, curling his fingers at the end of.
"hurt or not, i'll always come back to you, love" he murmured near your temple, placing a kiss. in response, you tilted your head to his shoulder, still not losing your smile.
one thing you both know is, wounded, healthy or dead, you will always come back for each other.
Ticci Toby
OH THIS BOYY
being with him everything is a box of surprises.
he's so spontaneous, seriously.
and stubborn.
when you accepted to be his girlfriend, that same day everyone already knew it.
"hey, can you tell your boyfriend it's his turn to take out the trash?" "how do you know- nevermind"
"I LOVE MY WIFE!!!" vibes
laughs and jokes will never be lacking!
he has a terrible diet and terrible habits, but you help him improve it!
he really tries hard to make the relationship work (and he achieves it very well).
for Toby, you make him live his teenage romance (although he's no longer a teenager).
he says things directly and, well, someone said that truth hurts.
it's not his intention (sometimes it is) but he doesn't know how to be "delicate" with what he says.
he tries it but after a while, he does it again.
when you go on dates, he wears a mask and something to cover his wound. all to prevent everything from spilling out when he's eating or drinking.
after all he's been through, he would never dare treat you badly or hit you. he lived with an abusive father and he saw what his mother and sister were suffering, including himself.
but it doesn't exempt him from the fact that he can fuck up on some occasions.
sometimes he leaves you on seen, sometimes he forgets to go see you at your cabin, sometimes he tells you something and can hurt you his words (by the way he said it), that kind of things.
he has not filter when saying things, to be honest.
uses princess, babe, love, honey or a nickname of yours.
i dare to say he's the one who doesn't mind showing affection at all.
"Toby! you stink of blood!" "just another kissss c'monnn"
he's a switch.
can't keep his ass in just one role.
when he's working under Slenderman's control, he is much less careful.
even with you.
if you fucked up something, he will tell you much more directly.
if you get injured, he'll bring you or will be healing you without much care.
doesn't measure his strength.
he spends more time in his cabin than yours.
his love language would be words of affirmation and maybe physical affection, but the last one would be when he has too much trust in you.
he's the most jealous of the four.
but just like Tim, his jealousy would be self-sabotaging.
and maybe a little finishing off those who are in your way, OH! who said that?
his kisses are kinda sloppy and with tons of little smiles between kisses to kisses. just sloppy and passionate.
he just hopes that you both will get away from that life and still living in the woods, without being tied to him.
the thick sheets that were impregnated with the aroma of fresh oak managed to lull you more and more in your sleep.
your mind was blank, you were eternally grateful for that, genuinely missing dreaming. your chest rose and fell calmly until you quickly became alert when you felt the sheets lift slightly, quickly you turned around pulling a dagger out from under your pillow but it was stopped by Toby's hand holding onto your wrist with a smile on his face.
"what are you doing, honey?" he smiled making short sounds with his tongue, pretty amused how your muscles seemed to have memory.
"sorry, love" his arms quickly caught you, leaving you lying on his chest and his back being hugged by your soft pillows. the dagger was left on the nightstand. "why aren't you this quiet when we're on our way to missions?" you said playful.
"i don't want to" you chuckled. he didn't say anything, he just held you in his arms.
"babe, i want to live with you" "well, you can come to my cabin-" "not that way, du-dumb"
you looked up, could see a beard just trying to emerge from his skin, his pale skin looked similar to the moonlight and then, he sighed.
"i mean far away, where we are not tied to this" he lowered his gaze to you "would you promise to be with me?" "ye-" "forever" "forever"
both lips collided in a slightly rushed kiss but you could feel his feelings on the surface of the skin of his lips.
this is forever.
Kate The Chaser
MY GIRRRL KATEEEE
"toby i'm lesbian" "i thought you were american"
the majority of your dates are at dusk and at night.
sometimes she tells you about Lauren and Chris but just a little of what she can remember.
actually she's pretty good at drawing!
usually draws you recycling pages.
be patient with her, she isn't very familiar with relationships, not romantic ones.
but still, she's a sweetheart!
she goes to your cabin very often.
every time you go out of the woods to go shopping or just to go on a date together, she tends to hold your hand or be very close to you.
although most of your dates are inside the cabin or near the forest.
the first to know it definitely was Toby and it was by accident.
he saw you kissing behind a tree and almost got killed by him thinking you both were intruders.
and then Brian and Tim knew.
praise her please.
sometimes she just walks away and leaves you, when she does that you know he's starting to torment her.
when she is on his mantle, you don't say a word, she just nod and sigh.
then she holds you, she wants to confirm that you're real and not another hallucination of Slenderman's part.
when the both of you go on missions, you're quite fast, which is why there isn't much interaction between you.
but when she comes out of that trance she asks you if she was ever too harsh with you.
she loves you, like, way too much!
you both have an engagement ring (don't ask where she got it).
when she's with you, the mask is freely removed.
how is she going to kiss you with the mask on?
use love and honey.
there are times when she snuggles up on your chest when you're lying down.
her jealousy is just like Tim's, it's self-sabotage and tends to grab you with more intensity.
the relationship is private but the affections are obvious.
her kisses are slow and shy.
her love language is definitely quality time and words of affirmation.
tell her you love her and spend time with her, she has been through so much.
she's a switch.
although she's more a top but she's beginning to accept receiving.
the kind that brings you many objects that remind you.
often lend you her clothes.
although your lives are no longer part of you, you both have each other's hearts.
the large, rough trunk of the tall tree behind you made abrupt contact with your back. you had leaned on it without much care, watching as Kate desperately cleaned the fresh blood from her hands.
"love, you did it amazing" you tilted your head slightly without receiving a response from her.
"how can you be so calm and, i mean, how can you get used to it?" now you were standing next to her as she looked up to you, she didn't have her mask on and her reflection could be seen faintly in the lake thanks to the sunset.
"because it's not like we can leave and he won't find us" you stopped for a little moment. "apart from that, the only thing i'm grateful for is that i was able to meet my fiancée" you extended your hand showing the ring. you finally achieved your goal, a soft smile curved on her lips.
"do you think this will end at some point?"
"i hope not" she looked at you again. "because I know i couldn't be with you" now you were both looking at each other. "and if it ends, i would go with you, no matter what"
your voice was silenced along with your lips as you felt Kate's lips on yours, she's fast definitely. her hand descended, passing through your abdomen until it reached your waist as your hands made a short journey between her shoulders, neck and ending on her cheeks.
you both separated with your breathing agitated but the sweetness in both eyes made a genuine smile appear, reuniting again in a much slower kiss.
you couldn't say if you were sure that this control and nightmare was going to end, you and Kate wished to know the answer but it was almost impossible.
but what you both were sure of, was that you didn't want the relationship to end.

Hello!
Could I request Masky and Tim and Brian and Hoodie, with having a crush on a reader who is slowly opening up to them more? Like maybe talking more around them and looking less tense, maybe even holding their hand or arm when they’re feeling anxious?
Thank you!
-🐨
Tim, Masky, Brian, and Hoodie developing a crush on the reader!
ooooo hoohoo this is going to be interesting me thinks! finally got a moment to sit down, so im going to knock out from requests yahoo! still taking requests lesgo! written as neither explicitly creepypasta or marble hornets, but tagged as both (break dances) tim and brians parts a little shorter than their counterparts, which.. was unintentional.. sobs..
Tumblr media
TIM:
maybe its because i struggle with writing tim in love, but i think he would be tense around you. i was originally going to say awkward, but that doesnt seem quite right... he doesnt avoid you, or treat you any different... but you can tell that theres something on his mind... its going to be like pulling teeth trying to get him to say something. you do find him lingering around more than usual before leaving to do something, also tends to check in on you more than before... but that doesnt mean anything, right..? i mean you guys are still only friends, right??
MASKY:
so you know how i tend to write masky to.. not really be expressive and kind of just there watching the reader, like some sort of little guard dog of sorts who probably has claimed the life of at least on person? yeah take that idea and make it a little more intense because uh oh! hes now starting to have feelings for you and since theyre new there hasnt been time for them to mellow out and chill! do i think he would go the yandere route with you? no, but thats simply because the admin doesnt like the yandere trope in most cases. but do i think he would stick by closer to you and make excuses to hang around you? yes. does he come off as stalkerish if we are assuming the reader and masky dont actually have a relationship? oh yeah 100% but by default i write that you guys interact before any feelings are caught.. leaves you random stuff, like gifts.. or even "offerings" in your room to try to appeal to you and keep your attention. does get a little possessive about you, though
BRIAN:
i think out of the four hes the most open and loose with things, but thats only because of his more easy going and jokester nature (at least according to the silly wiki im reading and what i remember of him). basks in the fact that he can make you laugh and smile, i think thats something really important for him in general when it comes to you but i think it becomes an even bigger deal for him when he starts catching feelings for you. i also think out of the four hes the most likely to tell you about his feelings!
HOODIE:
more mellowed out version of masky, still carries some of brians boldness, i think. probably the third most likely to open up about his feelings, behind tim and before masky. also leaves you little gifts and such in your house somewhere for you to find, though i think he makes a game of it. masky leaves them in plain sight, while hoodie is going to make you look for it. more touchy than usual, tends to hold on longer when you guys share a hug or you pass something to him. also physically stands closer to you than before. the lingering stares. stuff like that. you probably think hes mad at you thanks to the mask and his intimidating height, but rest assured hes just trying to find the best opening to ask you to be his

Call of Cthulhu has a chance to be "the next big thing" in ttrpgs
Trigger warning: long rant about very specific things only I care
So there are 4 ttrpgs known as the most popular through history; Dungeons & Dragons, Vampire the Masquerade, Cyberpunk and Call of Cthulhu
The reception of D&D 2024 have been very lukewarm at the moment, VtM is splitted in fans of the previous (20a) and latest (5th) editions, Cyberpunk got a huge boost during the Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunners time but it couldn't maintain momentum
On the other hand, Call of Cthulhu has had a history of a very solid yet not crazy success, it covers the classic horror niche, has one of the best systems with very little changes through editions, and has a good brand recognition with the Lovecraft stuff
Almost all the editions had very little time between them (2 to 4 years), with big exceptions being 6th to 7th edition (10 years) and 7th to the hypothetical 8th edition (currently 11 years)
Given how all the previous games had their to shine I think right now it's CoC's turn, here's a couple ideas of what could be done to improve and expand the game:
Guides to other time periods
Classic CoC is set in the 1920s, or the "modern" era, wich was 1990s, I would add to the base game guides to play in the periods of WWI, Interwar, WWII, Cold War and 21st Century, like previous editions game modules could used to play other settings (Classic era, Medieval, Victorian, Sci-fi, etc) but I think 20th and 21st centuries should be the base game
Modern horror tropes
Horror has developed a lot in the last decades with the internet (Creepypastas, CSP, Analog Horror, you get the idea), I would add this elements and link them with the Cthulhu mythos for the more modern game settings
Guides to regulate action/horror
With how good the base game is I would also add options or guides in how to make diffrent campaigns with more or less action and/or supernatural stuff, maybe I want classic Lovecraft, maybe I want to play a detective murder mystery with no cthulhu cult behind it, or maybe I want to shoot space squids with a machinegun or play in a more fantastical version of history like VtM
Simplify Combat
A lot of long running ttrpgs had simplified their combat system to make them more quick and dynamic. While CoC is not a power-fantasy game (quite the opposite), some revision to the rules could be useful to keep the tension of action scenes (which could also be controled with the guides of the previous point)
Removing non d100 dice rolls
One of the things I most like of CoC is the base dice roll it's a very simple yet effective use of the 1d100, yet there are other stuff like weapons or magic that uses all kind of other dice (d3, d4, d6), I would make it so you only need the d100 and all the other rolls are derivations of a d100 roll, an attribute or a flat number, that would simplify the more intricate systems a lot (like the combat as I said earlier) and would make possible to play with literally just the d100 dice
Make it slick
A well organized and nice manual can make a lot of difference, CoC is not bad but the formart could get an update to make it more easy to read and use during sessions, also the obvious main influence of the game are Lovecraft's stories, which are very cool, but the yellowed newspaper aesthetic has a limit, give me pulp, noir, art deco, and while you are at it, make it queer, diverse, cosmopolitan, make me go insane and die tragically but with style
That's all I have for know, Call of Cthulhu is one solid game in all aspects, if they make an 8th edition right it has a huge potential to be a great success, I think it deserves it and would love to see it happen

Anomidae, the creator/channel behind the incredible INTERLOPER series, AKA Project SKY // BOX, is approaching 100k subscribers on the heels of their latest episode. I highly recommend checking it out if you've ever had a passing interest in creepypasta, post Petscop YouTube "analog" horror, ARGesque content, or the whole Source Engine ecosystem in general.
Without getting into spoiler territory, Anomidae has taken these genres/mediums to a whole different level, constantly resisting the urge to lapse into common tropes or the purely supernatural. INTERLOPER has one of the most well-designed multifaceted mysteries I've ever seen, bolstered by some of the most in-depth technical trickery and shockingly good production values of not just any YouTube horror project, but any YouTube project ever.
INTERLOPER is a project born from a love of the last twenty years of Source gaming in every form, and a generation of "my game is haunted???" scary stories, taking that concept to a logical extreme where you're never quite able to say "this game is haunted" in the world of the story, even as repeated seemingly impossible phenomenon manifest.
I could write a book about how much I love this series, and its rejection of the tendency by less interesting creatives toward "more vague = more interesting." It has enough confidence in its own mystery to put capable characters in the pilot's seat, who are taking a thorough, extremely analytical approach toward the mystery in question, but still being challenged, still being left in the dark, still feeling like they've always scraping up against the exterior of a much older story that they aren't the protagonists of.

the more i end up knowing about the history of horror media the less upset i get about a modern trope being overdone or turned silly. the universal monsters ended up becoming the munsters. chucky and freddy started as very effective terrifying movies, then chucky ended up becoming the real housewives of haunted dolls and freddy ended up putting teenagers into pizza and getting pregnant. i mean fuck, jason ended up in space. ghostface and 90/00s horror went straight into the scary movies the next decade. saw has been memed to hell and back. creepypasta started as genuine scary tales spread in the early internet, but slenderman hasnt actually been scary for more than a decade. backrooms is just the next piece of the cycle

A little bit more time has passed so I feel less bad if anyone gets spoilered now. So about Alien Romulus: I feel like the movie starts out really strong and delivers a lot of great really tense moments up until the scene where the robot dude says “Get Away From Her… You… Bitch?” That line was awful and misplaced it sucks the air out of the room. Pretty much the elevator shaft if the turning point in the film where the film nose dives. Also all Alien movies seem to do a double ending thing where something blows up and the protagonist thinks it’s over but it turns out that they gotta fight the last boss, Romulus has probably the worst execution of that trope, and the obligatory new Xeno design is goofy as hell. It’s looks like something from a creepypasta. Also even if it looked cool it would still suck because it was created by the black goo which is the worst plot element they ever introduced in the series. I feel like it’d be remarkably easy to make an edit of the film removing the tedious fight with the Newborn, and truncate the elevator sequence, maybe cut down on Rook’s scenes as well and you’d have a much tighter film.

Anyways, this was just the preliminary ramble for my further discussion of my original story which has be thinking very hard about how to incorporate these emotions which the analog/digital horror genre rests on into my non-horror project.
Like I said in a near copy of this post where I also brought up the much less horror-focused series Angel Hare, there is a lot to explore in the aesthetic tropes and emotional cues of the genre. My project is a lot more like Angel Hare in that way that it is somewhat of a thing that tells you that the recordings are watching, but not that they want to harm you, if anything as a child would like to believe, they want to help you. I think Angel Hare's pinch of horror is more just on the unsettling side than anything, basically a 'The Toys/Media Are Alive' bit with some Implications.
The thing I'm going for is a mix of that with a heavier dive into that accusatory side. It begins as a blend of toys, media, and imaginary characters are real and aware of their duty to children, but gets a bit more creepypasta with it. Specifically, one of the characters begins to cut through the vague and undefined layer between the "player"/in-universe child and themself to remind them of their existence having been a forgotten toy/character. See this is like Disney's Turbo levels of shit, but I have been GRIPPED by the language of analog and digital horror for so long and have always wanted to use THAT as the reveal.
Specifically, we come back to what I was saying is such a potent and exciting theme in these works - being demanded to remember. The way these series do this is so delightfully gruesome and creative, through innocuous glitches which build into increasingly direct and haunting imagery.
I haven't watched it (pussy ass) but I've heard great things about the cinematography of Skinamarink and how so much of it is literally just shots into dark, barely lit corners of a house, sort of a purposeful play on Liminal Space visuals. The disconnected clips I've seen despite - as said - LITERALLY JUST BEING SHOTS OF DARK HALLWAYS has really stuck with me and I think regularly about how so many of my memories of my childhood home are those kinds of snapshot memories of random angles I used to sit in as a child. And of course, those pleasant daytime memories would not exist without the parallel flashes of my childhood fear of the dark when creeping around those same rooms.
In The Walten Files too one of the images that sticks with me most is from Bunny Farm when the cabinet (which for no reason is actually housing a PC edutainment-like game) shows Sophie her mother's death. And by shows, of course like Skinamarink we simply have a shot staring into an unlit corner as a genuinely blood-curdling scream and blood spills out of the void. There's almost the implication that Sophie was there to see that if I remember right, which then argues that we're bringing in some traumacore elements - the blurring and black spaces representing the repressed and unthinkable.
I'm not planning on going that far, but as I'm trying to point out, I'm very into the use of those odd memory snap-shot like angles to say "remember". As if the game itself is trying to drag recognition wildly out of the depth of your mind and can only muster these broken pieces of nostalgic geometry - the purpose of the related liminal space movement of course.
This also blends with the other theme of my work that being play/imaginary spaces, in this story being the imaginary world of the child expressed as a video game one. That comes from my experiences being hopelessly obsessed with the most mundane of video game spaces and wishing to live in them despite their whimsically surreal and non-euclidian character. I really do think the medium offers a kind of immersion because of that lived-in factor of interaction. The way I used to live in those virtual spaces I sometimes find myself trying to rehabit my old homes in my mind, and as said I am sometimes left only with those eerie snapshots. But I think because of my familiarity with the brokenness of video game worlds I don't find them repulsive.
But the problem is that unlike those spaces of video game and other media creation which are at least made with people and characters in mind, there is something incredibly unstable feeling about those corners of my memory. That same feeling that liminal spaces tap into exactly, and sometimes I feel that analog horror-like call to Remember. Something. To be brought back, to have a past sense of self invade on my current person.
That feeling I first experienced some 7 years ago now, and it scared the FUCK out of me. It was not from an analog horror or a liminal space, it was genuinely just from my own stupid head and its fascinated me enough to inspire this project I've been working on for nearly that long. That ability for a space I once considered safe, my own mind, to... implode and intrude on itself and draw that deep psychological pull into some void out of me is what I see in these indie art movements and I wanna eat them.
It's fucking crazy when you watch an Analog/Digital Horror piece so good it retroactively makes others scarier because it just executes upon the ideas so well you better understand what others were going for.
Like yes this is still about fucking Fazbear Toddler Fun because it is definitely the one I've seen with the highest level of detail in replicating a very niche old style of media in late 90s edutainment games. (Not always but by the end it's like never missing). And seeing such a pristine replica - so good that when nothing spooky is going on it actually brings YOU back to YOUR childhood - START DOING THE BIT is fucking ghastly.
Especially the end of the last episode with its beautiful clumsy uses of CG reminded me a lot of shit from the time that leaked into my childhood later. I think namely this showz 3-2-1 Penguins, a really fun kids series made by the VeggieTales team. And then when the video started being spooky it hit me how goofy but absolutely fucking horrific it would be to watch something stupid like that and feel it watching you. Feel it judging you. Feel it asking you to remember. Remember *something*.
Like it now has me looking back on shit like Walten Files which always scared me cause I can't stand (/pos) the way it plays with faces to represent harm done, but now that layer of context, or purpose of image is so much worse. It's not just that you or Sophie are seeing a spooky face, it's that that grotesque image plastered over the innocuous experience is asking you to remember something. To know something terrible and horrific that your mind and this game/media are struggling to even form into a coherent image.
As I've said before, I think this wave of indie horror is playing on the sort of hyperawareness any generation born after the invention of home video or VHS has of their past. The fact that so much of it is so easily traceable either vicariously through recordings of old children's media or literally through family-made (and with YouTube, self-made) archives of ourselves. I think we feel how often media these days more intimately than ever asks us to remember. It's not as literal as displayed in this horror, but it's an implicit message that reaches us at various volumes and with different tones.
The analog/digital horror/creepy pasta trope - with its tendency to conflate the personal and the commercial (especially with the FNAF-like "game I just found was made by the brand extension of my family's old business") - is the fear of that ask becoming louder and clearer and more sinister. Its nostalgia becoming an accusation, of accidentally treading upon demons from your past hiding in the cracks of what most made you feel safe at the time.
Or in the case of Fazbear Toddler Fun, a demon you left in your past has tried to find solace in something and you with your nostalgic yet cynical prodding have awoken it.

Date nights w/ Masky and Hoodie include!
pairing masky and hoodie together in this post since i think their ideal dates are just. very similar, so i dont see much point in giving them their own separate posts... that said they will have their own segments since i do think they would have some key differences!
Tumblr media
MASKY:
both of these guys dates include urban exploring, i think! though i do think masky would be drawn to areas that are little more dangerous or run down; bros just a little silly. thats not to say he wouldnt run off or let you get hurt... no actually the opposite is true, hes not letting you out of his sight, and hes going to do his damndest to make sure that not even a single scratch gets on your skin. very protective of you, he is.. a lot of the places you guys explore tend to be more run down, as implied above; with more stuff to look out for and avoid. honestly dates with either of these guys are more like workouts...
for more chill dates, though, i think movies are in order! not theatres, obviously, since masky totally refuses to take off his... mask... and that might raise some suspicion... if theres anything hes more possessive of than you, then its his mask.. so at home movies it is! youre in charge of snacks and hes in charge of movies! you guys kind of bounce around a lot of genres, i think. from comedy to horror to sci fi, you guys wouldnt be bound to a single genre or franchise... mm cuddles are nice, i think! masky would make a nice cuddle buddy, i think! aww look he even watches you sleep to make sure nothing is going to come in and hurt you! that totally isnt unnerving! just pray you dont wake up with sleep paralysis and see him hunched over you in the dark
HOODIE:
also into urban exploring but between the two his are more... not too intense of crazy ... with masky its more like crawling and jumping across stuff and moving through gunk and rubble. whereas with hoodie its more so maybe having to just move a few things but ultimately its mostly just casual exploring without having to do some insane parkour to get through stuff or crawling along the gross yucky ground. can definitely see him bringing a knife or spray can so you guys can mark your initials somewhere. maybe im silly, but i love the idea of hoodie being soft just for his partner. giant bulky man who doesnt speak and would beat someone up in an instant but is very sweet and affectionate with his partner. depending on how fucked the place you guys are at is, you guys might even spend the night if its not too run down. bonus bonus, imagine getting to the roof and its like, solid enough and you guys lay down together and watch the stars.. oooouuuguuggh...
as for other date ideas, these boys seem to be struck with the same at home dates a lot of the creepypasta characters i write for will be struck with... what can i say? hoodie doesnt like parting with his mask; though hes less possessive with it than masky... and in my au, at least, as far as everyone knows brian is missing or even dead. would be a little... weird if he was spotted just. walking the streets. baking dates. maybe im soft for this idea, but the idea of working together with someone to make something to be shared if just so sweet (pun intended). pulls out my favorite trope; character a guiding character b's hands for something.. in this case it can be cutting something, or rolling something out and ueueueueue
i just think that would be so so nice

CW this post will discuss self harm and contain spoilers for the movie Grimcutty
Wanted to scroll a movie tag so I could vibe with what I presumed would be a really enthusiastic tumblr community but all I got was a bunch of ppl being stupid and dumb and most of all utterly devoid of whimsy smh
Anywaaay for all its flaws Grimcutty is a fuckin awesome movie if you ask me
Is it stupid? Oh fuck yeah
Is it entertaining? Absolutely
Does it have good representation? Shockingly enough yeah actually which was really refreshing to see in such a genre especially considering no one died except for the [extremely White tm] mommy blogger
The movie centers around the premise of an internet scary image challenge [reminiscent of the Momo Challenge and Creepypasta stories such as Smile.jpg from when I was in school] that causes “screen addicted” children to act out violently through manners of self harm, suicide, and even murder. What makes this movie interesting is that in some sense the fear parents feel is very real, as it is the mass paranoia and hysteria surrounding this meme known as the Grimcutty Challenge that causes it to appear.
Even ignoring everything else the concept of monsters that feed on fear is not new, but that doesn’t make it less interesting. Grimcutty however flips the traditional sense of the trope on its head: it’s not your own fear that gets you hurt, it’s the obsessive worry of others. The more you worry about someone committing to the challenge the more the entity will target them. Which all on its own is fascinating.
Most complaints I’ve seen are quick to write the movie off for its narrative decision to use these internet challenges and memes as the catalyst of the story; the people complaining are not considering the point of horror media, in my opinion, when they do this. For as long as it has existed the purpose of fearful stories and horrific tales is to exaggerate real problems. While the issues presented in the movie may not be as prevalent as they were when I was younger they were still very much real.
I remember being in school and hearing kids complain about limited access to devices at home due to their parents catching wind of things like the Momo Challenge. More than that however I remember the wave of paranoia that followed the very real Slenderman Stabbings that occurred in 2014. Even my own parents, who generally tend to stay level headed and rational, had a few worried conversations about what had happened at the time, knowing my sibling and I were fans of the stories that made up Creepypasta at the time. It was such a powerful event that it legitimately changed the entirety of my school’s social landscape, no one was permitted to use the computer labs for about two weeks, an assembly about it was hosted, and a lot of kids had their schools changed. The event had happened over 2,000 miles [about 3,218 kilometers] from my home and yet the fear that parents felt was so real that even my classmates were afraid of anyone who was known to enjoy those stories.
Grimcutty takes that sort of hysteria around things like that and turns it up to eleven, and it does everything right by doing so. While the teens in the movie are clearly written by people who aren’t 100% in on current youth culture it makes them no less relatable overall. The main character, Asha, is reasonably desperate to find a way to bring her situation to a halt, and her peers are frustrated, outraged at times even, at the older generation’s fixation on fear. Parents will worry, and kids will find it annoying, but this movie does a good job of showing how bad things can get when both sides refuse to listen to the feelings of the other. Overprotective parents with a platform from which to speak are often the sort of force that sparks such hysterics and panics in communities, a single seed of doubt is all that ever really needs to be planted.
The movie itself is well made overall, it was by no means perfect but it did its job and told its story quite nicely. It helps to have people to watch it with, though as a fan of live commentating my thoughts while watching things I am a bit biased. While the emotions and situations are exaggerated for the sake of theatrics it does well not to lead into the drop off point of unbelievable, especially to someone like me who was a kid when these fears were big amongst parents. It held its tension well and was genuinely terrifying at times, a good balance of pacing and energy. Much like It Follows and Smile it handles the moments of calm between attacks well without letting the fear and suspense completely dissipate, more often than not even making it worse by leaving characters blindly too calm and unaware of their surroundings.
Overall I’m thoroughly disappointed in the platform that truly helped nourish and create the Creepypasta community back in the day for dismissing a movie that captures the very real backlash received for such things at the time. With that said I highly encourage checking it out for the love of all things horror, so be advised however about the subject matter, I would recommend reading its warnings on Does the Dog Die for preparation.
Anyway if you actually bothered to read this far you deserve a treat so here is a picture of my cat

Alright imma bite the bullet, what horror movies have you seen if you don’t mind my asking? Just so I know what villains you know of.
Well I've watched a lot of B rated horror movies, me and my mom would watch them all the time since I was around four or five. I've seen a lot of obscure ones, rather than the known classics, but I can't for the life of me remember their names.
There was this one called "Nightmare Man" that was super dumb that I watched when I was 9. This woman kept saying the nightmare man was out to get her and the classic "Husband doesn't listen or care" trope plays as well as with her friends.
So they all start dying and what not, getting murdered, I can't remember the exact plot verbatim but it turns out she's nightmare man, despite that not being physically possible at certain times, and not making any sense for others such as how that persona was even made to begin with.
anyway long rant- I've seen some classic horror, Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees (Even though it's technically his mom in the first one but eh who cares) and while I haven't seen Scream I do know the gist and have seen enough spoofs and memes to get the basic story plot. I've also seen "The Boy" and a few supernatural horror films!
Horror movies don't really scare me anymore, The Nun wasn't scary at all even the jump-scares were cheap to me, and while Sinister had a cool costume and concept I wasn't all too freaked out and more or less saw the movie as a pastime or documentary, not too invested in the characters.
At this point the only thing that scares me horror wise is uncanny valley horror and even then it's rare. I find that funny because when I was a kid everything- even Creepypastas- used to scare me, and now I think every scary story is trying too hard or trying to be too different and it kills the vibe for me :T Jeepers Creepers wasn't that scary either but my friend Nick is horrified of that thing, and I find IT overrated and feel even the original, while a classic, doesn't really get to me like it does other people.
I think I'm overexposed and expecting something more each and every time I DO get scared.

TW: Talk of violence, SA, childhood SA, Child abuse
Ok, so when I was younger and newer to the internet, I was really into creepypastas. The weird internet horror stories with Jeff the Killer and Ben Drowned, so on and so forth. And it's been a good bit of time since I engaged in the fandom at all, so I don't know if this topic has been talked about at all. But it's important to me, so I'll still give my two cents. To preface: this will mostly be talking about the fan content for the creepypastas (fanfiction, fanart, ect. The stories themselves mostly won't be discussed). This will talk about my experience in the fandom, and how I worry it might have affected other people like me.
As a kid online, I had just discovered fanfiction. Most of what I read was creepypasta content. So-and-so X readers and the like. A very common trope was that one of the characters would save you from an abusive or neglectful home by either kidnapping you or killing them. And by nature, the themes of these books were often dark, so it's not really the gore that I take issue with. But rather the way in which abuse was portrayed. The fandom at the time was largely people my age and younger, and most of us knew that. There was a lot of mystique to consuming this kind of content for me and a lot of other kids. Especially the nsfw content.
But back to the abuse trope: because of the violent nature of whatever creepypasta I happened to be reading about, in order to justify the creepypasta being 'less abusive' than the parents in the story, the parents usually had to be a clean-cut stereotype of an abuser. The parents would be so terrible right off the bat that there would be no room for questioning if killing them would be justifiable in the eyes of the reader. Especially since they're not going to have much time for any characterization, usually being killed off right in the beginning. And this isn't to say that those kinds of abusers don't exist, because they absolutely do. But having it set up like this makes it so that you're always comparing the creepypasta (manipulative, violent, aggressive, also abusive, likely also SA's the reader during the story) to the parents on a moral level. So if the Parents are the base level for abuse at all times, and the creepypasta is always the hero, what does that do to a little kids perception of love and abuse? It royally screws it up, that's what.
As a kid, I read these stories and idolized these kinds of relationships. But because my definition of abuse was so narrow and boxed in, I didn't seek help when I was being abused by my parents. Because I didn't even recognize that I was being abused, because it looked more like the relationship the reader had with the pasta than the one they had with their parents. I didn't realize that I was being SA'd, because these were all things that were romantic when the pasta did them. And usually when you write a book with sex scenes and direct depictions of SA, you write it for an older audience who presumably already have a basic understanding of sex, anatomy, and healthy relationships. But that wasn't the case here, and it was kids (and the occasional adult) writing for an audience they knew consisted of children who didn't understand a lot of those topics. And as someone who was a child in that fandom, there was a lot of glorification and pressure to consume this kind of media. And I will say this, kids are naturally curious. We all discover porn at some age, and it's natural for some kids to be interested in it. But I am ashamed of the older members of the fandom for the encouragement of younger members to consume dangerous media. A 10 year old shouldn't even know what a CNC kink is, and it goes without saying how dangerous that is. Be proud of your sexuality, and own your anatomy-- But understand that the reason we keep kids away from this stuff is because people will take advantage of it. It is a terrible and harsh reality we live in, but the safety of children, and all people, needs to come first. If it was almost unheard of for a kid to even know what a creepypasta was, then this would have been less of an issue. But everyone knew it had a large younger audience. I believe that everyone has the right to create art, own their anatomy, and enjoy media as they do choose. But we need to remember that the internet is a part of our real life. What we read and post carries with us when we leave for work, school, ect.
Thank you if you've read this far, I really needed to get this out of my system. And of course, if you think there are any major flaws in my thoughts then I'd be happy to hear them. When it comes to sensitive topics, multiple perspectives tend to be a good thing. And if anyone else has anything to add, by all means go ahead.

Hi there not sure how comfy you are with answering questions, don’t feel pressured to answer. Anyways, do you have a favorite Petscop character?
hi there! im usually very happy to answer questions so dont worry about that. it makes me smile when people ask me things.
i think the answer to this is kinda clear to people who have known me for awhile, yeah my favorite characters paul and i wish i could say theres a complicated web of reasons as to why (and ... there is) but the gist of it is he’s kind of set up to be your favorite character anyway.
like. thats the entire function of his existence, i think. he’s supposed to be someone you deem familiar and even comforting in the face of an otherwise extremely confusing gamescape. you’re on the same page as him, for the most part, reacting to things in a confused fashion and just sort of nervously laughing. (...the internal mechanics of this are amusing to me as well, knowing paul is just tony and hes basically going “wow this is sooooo weird” to his own art in a way akin to an annoying youtube comment asking what drugs you were on when you made this and not taking it very seriously)
petscop presents you with unsettling and disorienting mechanics, and so long as paul is there he serves as a rock for the viewer. so long as you’re being guided through this thing by someone who has similar knowledge, reaction, and motives as you - to understand whats going on with this strange creepypasta attic trope of a game - you feel secure. if something confusing pops up, you don’t have to have a reaction, because paul’s commentary on it is all you really need to know. there’s a sense of him being a trustworthy source of information.
the way he exists is meant to be overly familiar. he chuckles at stuff, he says frankly stupid things, he stumbles over his words and pauses for long periods of time. that’s why when it starts to become personal to him, and he slowly starts talking less and less, and his exhaustion becomes more apparent, you begin to worry. and people did worry! that’s why we got this lovely message:
Tumblr media
so paul is my favorite, half because he was kind of created to be that way. the other reasons are very personal and i think you can just like, guess and imagine why i hold him so close if you know what petscop is about at all.

you may have said this or someone may have said this but chara and kris are 1 probably aware they're in a video game specifically and 2 know what creepypasta is and they totally mess with us
like chara appearing in the void at the end of ut no mercy and melting their eyes and mouth into black ooze
and like chara in general draws on creepypasta tropes a lot i think which people fall for because they don't use their brains
and then kris at the end of the first dr chapter throwing us out and scaring us with the knife and glowing red eye. like i know they were actually using that knife to open a portal but it's still... creepypasta trope
this isn't like a "this is a theory" thing this is a "i love them" thing
also like on that note i love chara specifically so much because they're just a messed up kid who acts like a scary villain. they want people to think they're dangerous but they're 11
HELP yeah. i love chara very much they are so cool and so scary and i will give them a lollipop
i never said this so you must be thinking of someone else!! but unless the red soul does end up representing an in-universe entity that has become the "player character", then there's a good chance chara understands the whole game aspect? less sure about kris honestly
BUT 100% kris was just messing with us at the end of ch1 which is SO funny. they know whatever the red soul is, it's a weenie. they were totally just pranking it by acting all evil and scary and then they went downstairs where it couldnt see them anymore and ate an entire pie. with a knife as their only utensil
i love chara and kris dearly they are both selfless sweethearts who love the people around them so, so goddamn much but they like to cause problems on purpose. this is the best kind of character

the objective: write a stereotypical “haunted game” creepypasta
the result: this
Behold,
The deltarune creepypasta where something something the scc fuck shit up i guess. With visuals !
enjoy
I’ve been a long time fan of Deltarune, it’s true. Ever since it first came out in 2018, I had been hyped for the upcoming chapters, excited to see what Toby Fox would give us next. Jamming OST’s, thrilling stories, lovable characters, all that jazz. Even before Deltarune, I was in love with Undertale, and, well, that’s where this starts.
I LOVE robots. Mettaton, fanon designs of robot bodies for Napstablook, all of it I just adored. That explains why I was elated when chapter two ended up being ALL ABOUT a cyber world- and it was led by a robot. But, I ended up quickly forgetting about Queen, in place of three characters who took my heart ineffably quickly- The Sweet Cap’n Cakes.
Three characters who are so… perfectly stupid. I loved them wholeheartedly and was thoroughly disappointed that they didn’t get much screen time. So obviously, I replayed the game over and over, soaking in the cyber field events, clawing out any of their dialogue I could. That’s what it’s like to be obsessed with a character.
And I should also mention… I adore mods, modding, fangames, all of it. So of course, I found a mod that gave those three bonus dialogue and dialogue options, and installed it faster than I could view the files it really came with. I noticed quickly that the game was slower to start up, but I didn’t care or take much note. It sped up as soon as it finished loading.
I quickly came to adore that mod. It gave them a lot more character, and even if it had a couple tropes I didn’t quite agree with, I loved the way the modder characterized them. Cap’n became less of a smooth man try-hard, and more of a subtle flirt, and still a romantic. Sweet had a few more moments where they were characterized as being just a little pissy, and I adored it- I found it funny, alright? K_K was a total doofus as always, but she also had a few quieter notes, making her less of a character who’s silly for silly and a character who felt more like silly as some form of… coping mechanism. I wasn’t sure how I felt about that interpretation, but I rolled with it.
Then came... the weirdness.
Tumblr media
Everyone who played Deltarune knows shopkeeper sprites. They’re more shaded and fleshed out than overworld and battle sprites. I, for one, adore the three’s shopkeeper sprites. I think they look cute when they’re all so happy, doing their little motions together. It was those sprites that started getting… Odd.
Tumblr media
During one of my replays, I noticed something while getting shop items. The glint on Cap’n’s shades had… disappeared. I brushed it off, chalking it up to nothing more than an animation error, or some form of bonus that the modder had added in. But I soon realized it wasn’t just the sprite that was off- his dialogue wasn’t quite “him.” I figured it could’ve been some beta dialogue that one of my actions had somehow activated, so I brushed it off again.
Tumblr media
The next time, K_K’s expression… changed. That big smile usually plastered onto their face was now nothing more than a line of pixels. They still moved like they always had, but their face wasn’t quite right. Cap’n’s dialogue remained weird and I hadn’t noticed any sprite changes on him or Sweet. At first, I thought all was normal, but I noticed K_K was also talking less now. I don’t know quite how to describe it- they seemed more anxious. I know, I know, I said earlier that the modder had started characterizing them as being a bit more anxious as their reason for being silly, but it wasn’t the right anxiety. It was paranoia. They spoke with less tilde’s and more ellipsis, but they still spoke.
Tumblr media
Reloading again, Sweet was staring right into the camera and K_K looked even more nervous. I didn’t know what to expect entering the shop, but it wasn’t… that. The dialogue changes caught me off guard too. Sweet spoke his lines late- Cap’n spoke first mostly. K_K’s lines died down until it was mostly their “iconic” lines, lemon drops, short for Cakes, etcetera. They seemed worried. That’s when it came to the performance dialogue- Sweet didn’t move. K_K moved, their sprite returning to normal, but still with sweat marks, and Cap’n moved as he always had, but Sweet didn’t. And to my surprise, the others noticed.
“Why aren’t you dancing, Sweet?”
“…”
“H-hey! Come on, Sweet, w-we gotta perform remember!-?”
“…”
“Sorry guys. I’m just not in the mood today.”
That was the end of that dialogue chain. I was… surprised. None of them had addressed each other yet. But that meant I wasn’t crazy, I wasn’t experiencing glitches- it was all coded in. It was… “normal.”
Tumblr media
K_K’s death glare into the camera sent shivers down my spine. The equalizer in the background had turned off, making the scene darker, and making it more difficult for me to make out the details. But I could see it. Cap’n’s face. Or… lack of one. I didn’t know what was going on- and they didn’t either. There was no dialogue, no dialogue box, anything. They just moved, slowly, very slowly. I felt trapped there, so I slammed backspace, a keybind I had made in case I got stuck in an area. When I tried to re-enter, I was greeted with this dialogue.
“Nobody’s home.”
Tumblr media
The next time I entered, I wished I hadn’t. Something was appearing and then reappearing, fading away and then back in on Cap’n’s face. Or where it was supposed to be. Sweet’s face was gone too, but not entirely- their iris was missing, leaving only their dark eyes. K_K looked even more terrified now than last time, staring down at their hand curled into a fist. I sat, dumbfounded. How could… what had… why? Why was the game acting like that? Was it the mod? But the screenshots had never said anything about it.
After minutes worth of sitting in silence, dialogue finally appeared. K_K’s.
“Please go home…”
I was kicked out of the shop. When I tried to re-enter, it gave me dialogues of denial.
“Nobody’s home.”
“They don’t want to see you.”
“They’re taking action.”
“Don’t be one, too.”
“Feel the beat! Watch my moves! Dance, dance!”
“Scrap metal.”
Tumblr media
The game froze before I entered the shop. As it did, I waited, staring anticipatedly into my screen. That was probably why it hid me so hard- the glitching, and then the transition into the shop. The music was deeply out of tune, but I could hardly pay attention.
It was so dark. But I could see it. Tendrils, wrapping around everything, emerging from a broken radio.
The game crashed, and I didn’t dare reopen it. I had had enough of buggy mods.
So, if you ever come across the “Sweet Cap’n Cakes Extra Dialogue” mod… don’t download it unless you want your shit to be screwed. It coulda messed with my other files too. I’ll be uninstalling it soon.
…Hey…
Where’s that music coming from?
End
We’ll be back to your regular grimdark shortly
