*Either all along or post-escape **Through being the reincarnation of James, one of his parents being a Ratri, or one of his more distant relatives being a Ratri
Really interested in the Other option as someone who came into the fandom after the series concluded and possibly missed some that were popular for a time and then dropped like a rock in the collective fandom conscience after a certain point.

I think all your theories might come true. You were right about zazie it reveals he is five and Phil is older than him in the volume 14 extras. So zazie can't be Leslie.
I don't think I could possibly be right about everything. Shirai-san is very good at coming up with unexpected twists...
So I think it's very difficult to get all predictions right, but at the same time, his plot is also extremly consistent. So if you think logically, it is easy to clear up some things.
Due to the timeline of lambda not even existing in plans when Leslie was shipped, I found that theory extremly unlikely. I was happy that it finally got debunked by the omake! Proves that Shirai is consistent with the timeline.
I guess the rapid growth must have had a big strain on Zazie's psychological development. However, his real age is a big plus for my other theory on Zazie...
Where he is the final, perfected version of a series of genetic engineering experiments in lambda to create easily controlled superhumans that started with Adam.
In that theory the first generation test subjects would have names starting with A, like Adam and the last series of tests with Z, like Zazie.
That theory would require Adam to be one of the oldest experiment subjects at lambda, and Zazie to be one of the youngest, which fits with him being 5.
Also, if they really went through the alphabet from A to Z in naming the various genetic experiment subjects, that may explain why Norman's group has so many clone looking people...
Notice that all of these clones look suspiciously like Adam, and Norman.
I know a lot of people assumed that they may be used by Norman as cannon fodder, or even that they have been created by Norman as an army....
However, wouldn't it be a much neater explanation if they were all the different series of genetic experiments by lambda to create superhuman soldiers, but now used against those who created them?
I still think Norman may be the control subject in the experiment, the one person kept and raised in conditions as normal as possible, to be a basis for comparison.
Whereas everyone else had growth acceleration experiments etc done to them on top of the genetics.
In any case, I think the resemblance is way too much to be a coincidence, and Zazie's face may be obscured to hide the surprise of looking like Norman too.
I wonder if it is down to genetic relation to control these super soldiers, since then it makes sense for Norman to be so good at controlling them.
That would also mean that it would have made sense for Peter Ratri to use his own genes for the study, if he wanted to take control of them later. Which ofc would explain why Norman looks so much like a Ratri...
Can't wait to see how this theory works out!

I KNOW BUTTERFLIES ARE NOT ENOUGH TO PROVIDE PROOF BUT--
IS ZAZIE AND LESLIE THE SAME?!
IS LESLIE ALIVE?!
The left side of his neck is conveniently hidden, and he seems to be singing too. Except that it's in rough voice. AAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaAaaa can I see my boy alive too?? 😭
edit: I totally forgot that Norman said that Zazie was born in Lambda, but who knows, maybe he was transferred from grace field too . *cross-fingers*

TPN Theory: Isabella never planned on letting any of the Fullscore Trio die
[SPOILERS for Anime-only Watchers]
I don’t really have evidence for this except that it’s a gut feeling. Veering into head canon theory. Many different things led me to think this, one Mama knowing all along that Norman wouldn’t be eaten but be used by the Ratri clan. If Zazie reeally is Leslie (and I’m hoping he is) then she’d have bases to think so, especially as Norman is special, even among the three of them, constantly getting perfect scores from even before.
As for Emma, there was that panel of Isabella telling her that she should be a Mama. I don’t think it was an afterthought. I think Isabella had been raising Emma as a Mama since even back then. Why do I think that? Well again because only the most special become Mamas and but only the most special of the special become Mamas like Isabella. Compare and contrast Krone and Isabella. I think Isabella wanted to raise Emma as the same kind of Mama, Grandmother raised her as, in a twisted line of succession. I think also because Isabella sees herself in Emma (compare young Isabella to Emma for example).
Lastly Ray, I read in TVTropes that Mama loved Ray the most considering *spoiler* he’s her own child *spoiler*. In fact, Ray counted on it which was why his plan was so effective. Isabella truly didn’t want him to die. Despite what Ray thought, I think Isabella would have found a way to save him so that he wouldn’t get eaten.
As to Isabella’s reasons for wanting to save those three, I can think of three: 1. Isabella and Leslie were/might likely have been full score kids so Isabella considers the three special aside from farm reasons 2. As stated above, Isabella loved Ray so she would have wanted to save the two most important people to him 3. Lastly, it may have been her way of rebelling. Raise three perfect children, so perfect that they had value to be used, that it would have been a waste for them to be eaten. She would have gladly let them think each other had died, so long as they were alive, perhaps Isabella was content with that. So in this way, Ray and Isabella are indeed alike. She’d have given up on the other kids so that she could survive, but if these three who were most like her and whom she might have loved the most could survive, then that would be enough for her.
Again, no basis for this, it’s a bit tinfoily and no way am I excusing Isabella at all. I still think, despite this characterization of her, she was one twisted woman, albeit sympathetic.

Last I'd checked, Norman had said that Zazie was born at Lambda so I think that's the biggest hurdle against the Leslie theory. But its also possible that Norman got false information about Zazie. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised by anything at this point in the story.
You could make the argument that “Leslie“ the Grace Field cattle child died the moment he got experimented on and now, for whatever reason, is now “Zazie“ by the time he was rescued. In that sense, Norman would be technically right about him being born in Lambda.

There you have it, another Emmy nomination prediction list done. Let’s see if I can do better than last year which was, besides the two biggest categories, all over the place. I can see The Crown ending up with the most nominations, maybe with Stranger Things and Feud: Bette and Joan up there as well, with all those below-the-line crafts up for grabs. Veep will probably rule the comedy side again. We’ll see!

Do you think Zazie could've been Leslie? I've seen a theory about it (I think it's by @thathilomgirl) and it makes much sense to me. The similar eye shape, the butterfly association, even the names end up the same. Maybe it's possible he's alive and was kind messed up at Lambda?
I have actually answered this before, but since tumblr is not great about links in main posts, I will just copy my other post in screenshots for you.
So in conclusion my answer is no, I don't think there is much chance for the Leslie is Zazie theory to be confirmed.
I think there is a much better chance for Adam, Norman and Zazie being part of the same genetic tests from lambda being named from A to Z and Zazie's face being hidden due to being identical to Norman's. The timeline actually fits that since Zazie was born at lambda and looked like a skinny child when they escaped, so I think he is much more likely to be the same age as Norman.
Also note that Shirai-san wrote another manga before he started working on TPN, called Ashley: The Gate's Whereabouts, and in there too butterflies/moths were a symbol of death. It's a common trope in Japanese culture, due to their fragility.
In more recent chapters we also see the demon queen destroy a butterfly. Not sure yet if this is foreshadowing her death, or deaths that she will cause.
