random hopes (predictions) for the final episode of Hightown:

not really sure how Jackie gets out of the cliffhanger, maybe Alan randomly shows up and interrupts?? or maybe he drugs her and gives what he thinks is a lethal dose of whatever but jokes on him bc her tolerance is so high she escapes?? (really no idea here)

Jackie stays sober if she isn't drugged by the bad guy

fresh off her success with Lady Castro, Charmaine gets promoted like 2 or 3 levels (yay! also spin off please!)

Alan thinks his plan is working and he will destroy Ray's career. Ray thinks he's fine but then the Sarah stuff comes out and his boss wants to get rid of him

Renee thinks Ray might take the fall for her and bails, taking the money and drugs and her 2 kids. she thinks this will save them both. (plus she's worried about Frankie still)

Ray is panicking (Sarah has all sorts of evidence for some reason) and DOES take the fall, confessing to killing Jorge, saving Renee

Alan doesn't care bc he likes Renee, he just wants Ray to get it

Ray goes away to prison?

Alan gets the promotion he shoulda got in S1, with honors

Alan hangs out with his family! they celebrate!

Frankie tries to take over Shane Frawley's operation, around when Osito is doing the same. Frawley calls in a tip that Frankie killed Owen

the cops scramble to kill Frankie on some trumped up charge, all hands on deck

Leslie (Babcock) comes back, she and Jackie have a "leave the door open for a future relationship" chat while on stake-out (hmm)

Leslie and Jackie have a shoot out with Frankie, with Jackie super injured Leslie gets the final shot, killing Frankie (will we see Rachel again?)

but Leslie gives extra praise to Jackie to the higher ups, to make up for her shit before with Charmaine. Jackie gets a promotion

Jackie makes a full recovery from her injury (like Osito's injury just turning into a cool eye patch, LOL)

Jackie runs into Osito somehow (they see Donna's baby playing at a park or something? somehow Donna's baby has to be involved. bc it's Junior's baby) and they talk about Junior. it's all very professional and respectful.

Jackie isn't gonna target Osito, she has dinner at Ed's house and brings along her sponsor this doesn't tie up everything but it's the best i could do. how is the last episode not gonna be 3 hours??

But like who else just doesn’t like hightown anymore because the writing is lazy and predictable? lmao.

Jackie gets into a fight with Leslie and then relapses again? But Ray gets constant redemption? Osito gets redemption? Renee gets a cute happy Christmas with her new family?

How fucking boring. Straight people writing queer storylines is exhausting.

Also: They literally had Leslie own up to her bullshit b/c she was having ~gay feelings~ that she had to work through. Okay, cool. Fair. Explore that. But why does she take Jackie on a ride where everytime she does something good at work, Leslie is soft for her, but then if things go south, Leslie is the first to tell Jackie she’s the problem and fuck off on her, AS WELL as trying to fuck over her job?

I’m not convinced. Tell me this show is written by cis men without telling me it’s written by cis men.
