Alana King replicates Shane Warne, bowls 'Ball of the Century' in Women's Ashes
Australia’s legspinner Alana King bowled an unplayable delivery during the Women’s Ashes Test against England that had the shades of the legendary Australian spinner Shane Warne. It was an outstanding ball from King who got the ball to turn a long way. The Women’s Ashes Test was being played between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). During the 37th over of England’s…

Owen's 39-ball century, which sets a new record, secures the Hurricanes' first Title of BBL
The Hobart Hurricanes won their first title in spectacular fashion, and Mitchell Owen, who had a boisterous Bellerive Oval crowd in the palm of his hands, finished a breakout season with the equally-fastest BBL century.
After Owen produced an innings for the ages, the Hurricanes easily achieved the highest chase in a BBL final, despite needing an apparently difficult 183 runs. He finished with 108 off 42, including 11 sixes, and achieved his century off 39 balls in 10 overs.
Hurricanes won by seven wickets with 35 balls remaining thanks to Ben McDermott and Matthew Wade.
It was a letdown for Thunder, who got off to a strong start with to a 97-run opening partnership between Jason Sangha and captain David Warner before being held back by quicks Riley Meredith and Nathan Ellis.
Less than six months after his lifelong leadership ban was lifted, Warner failed to lead his team to victory.
Owen decimates Thunder
According to ESPNcricinfo's predictor, Thunder had a 61% chance of winning as the Hurricanes began their pursuit. After Owen's whirlwind, Hurricanes quickly became the overwhelming favorites. Owen scored 58 off 18 balls with six incredible sixes and five boundaries as the Hurricanes were 74 for 0 after four overs.
It was a brilliant move to move seam bowling all-rounder Owen from middle-lower order to opener. Owen supported his winning strategy of swinging hard and slamming the ball over unlucky fielders, saving his best for last.
Owen did not have stage fright after hitting successive boundaries in an opening over that yielded 23 runs and blasting a fast Nathan McAndrew over deep midwicket for six.
Warner went back to using left-arm spinner Tom Andrews, who was always dependable, but Owen was unfazed and hit a massive six over deep midwicket. After that, he kept hammering speedy Wes Agar as he quickly reached his half-century off 16 balls, which is the third-fastest in tournament history.
Even once the fielding limits were relaxed, he persisted in his attack without any pause. Owen eyed the fastest BBL century, which Craig Simmons scored in 2014, as ecstatic supporters chanted his name. Although he was unable to break it, he lapped up the plaudits and matched the long-standing mark to receive a standing ovation. In the eleventh over, Owen eventually fell, but the damage had already been done.
His bravery will undoubtedly garner widespread attention, from other franchise leagues to the national selectors.
Thunder's attack have no answers, Sangha tries his best
To be fair, Owen was in that zone and probably could have been stopped by several attacks. However, Thunder bowled consistently in his preferred hitting arc after getting off to a sloppy start.
They also struggled in the field, as Warner missed an opportunity to run out Owen at the bowler's end in the same sequence and Matthew Gilkes dropped opener Caleb Jewell at cover on 5.
Legspinner Tanveer Sangha was the only bright spot of the season; he bowled well after rejoining the team following an injury and ended the season impressively. To offer Thunder hope before he was overtaken by the Owen show, he claimed Jewell and Nikhil Chaudhary in the eighth over.
Ellis hauls Hurricanes back with superb slower deliveries
Though nothing worked in Thunder's first ten overs, the Hurricanes' varied assault has proved equally vital despite being overshadowed by their aggressive batting order. Warner and Sangha launched an avalanche at spinners Peter Hatzoglou and Chaudhary, who had been so frugal this season, while Meredith was counterattacked with the new ball.
The Hurricanes took advantage of the drinks break, and Ellis took it upon himself to get his team back into the game. He accomplished this by nicking off Warner and then using his signature slower delivery to totally fool Gilkes on the following ball.
Sam Billings cautiously drove just short of mid-off, giving Ellis a chance to clinch a hat-trick, but Ellis kept making an impression. In the fifteenth over, he made the right move by deploying Meredith, who clean bowled Billings with a brilliant yorker to support the decision. Ellis' outstanding performance in the final overs, which saw him dismiss Sangha with yet another slower delivery just before the power surge, demonstrated why he is right on the periphery of Australia's white-ball squads. After that, he gave up just six runs in the power surge's second over, finishing a fantastic season with 3 for 23 from 4 overs.
Sangha and Warner silence crowd initially
Warner was the center of attention, but at first Jason Sangha, who was just playing in his third BBL game of the season, took center stage. In the Challenger, he strengthened a depleted Thunder batting order by making an impact at the top of the order against the Sydney Sixers.
In the third over, Sangha pursued Meredith after a cautious start. In the qualifying final, Meredith had upset the Sixers' top order, but Sangha chose to fight fire with fire. He smashed a boundary through backward point after rocking on the back foot and hitting a six over deep square. For the second time this season, Thunder went through the powerplay without taking a wicket. After the fielding limits were relaxed, Warner joined in on Sangha's 30 of 40 runs. He was creative, sweeping seamer Chris Jordan over the gully after reverse lapping Hatzoglou. Warner's running was a standout; he moved between the wickets with a quickness that belied his advanced age.
As they advanced to refreshments with Thunder at 97 for 0, Warner and Sangha kept combining placement and power. However, Thunder's lack of batting depth was shown, and they were unable to leverage their platform. In the final over, Chris Green contributed two crucial boundaries, but it was eventually insufficient.

Sikandar Raza is unavailable in the one-time Test match against Ireland
When Zimbabwe Cricket announced the squads for the multi-format series, they stated that Sikandar Raza will not be able to play in the one-off Test match against Ireland next month. Raza will miss the Test match, which is scheduled for February 6–10 in Bulawayo, because he had already committed to franchise cricket before the tour schedule was confirmed.
However, Raza will be able to participate in the white-ball phase of the series, which will begin with the three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) on February 22, 23, and 25 after the three ODIs on February 14, 16, and 18. Harare will host these six matches.
After veteran all-rounder Sean Williams was deemed fit for the Test and ODIs, Zimbabwe gained momentum despite Raza's absence from the red-ball match. The 38-year-old was having trouble with a back issue during the series, despite smashing a ton in the opening Test match against Afghanistan.
Legspinner Vincent Masekesa and batsman Nicholas Welch, who have not yet been capped, have been chosen to replace Dion Myers and Tadiwanashe Marumani in the Test team. Myers has kept his place in the T20I team, but he and Joylord Gumbie have been dropped out of the 50-over format as Wessly Madhevere and Nyasha Mayavo have replaced them.
Test squad: Joylord Gumbie, Trevor Gwandu, Vincent Masekesa, Nyasha Mayavo, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava, Newman Nyamhuri, Victor Nyauchi, Nicholas Welch, Sean Williams, Craig Ervine (C), Brian Bennett, Johnathan Campbell, Ben Curran, and Joylord Gumbie
ODI team: Wessly Madhevere, Tinotenda Maposa, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza, Nyasha Mayavo, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava, Newman Nyamhuri, Sikandar Raza, Sean Williams, Brian Bennett, Johnathan Campbell, Ben Curran, Trevor Gwandu, Craig Ervine (captain). T20I team: Wessly
Madhevere, Tinotenda Maposa, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza, Nyasha Mayavo, Tony Munyonga, Tashinga Musekiwa, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, Newman Nyamhuri, Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Johnathan Campbell, Trevor Gwandu, and Sikandar Raza (capta).

Harry Brook, England's vice-captain, says that his team's hopes of combatting India's spin bowlers in the first T20I were hampered by an unusual but familiar foe to English touring sides - a thick layer of smog hanging over the ground in Kolkata.Brook made 17 from 14 balls before being bowled by a wrong'un from India's legspinner, Varun Chakravarthy, who then dismissed Liam Livingstone in near-identical fashion two balls later. England collapsed from 65 for 2 to 109 for 8, and ultimately 132 all out, with India's spinners claiming five wickets in all. Abhishek Sharma's 79 from 34 balls then condemned them to a seven-wicket defeat with a thumping 43 balls to spare.Chakravarthy was the pick of the attack with 3 for 23 in his four overs, although his fellow legspinner Ravi Bishnoi proved every bit as tough to get away as he returned figures of 0 for 22. And speaking on the eve of the second T20I in Chennai, Brook suggested there had been an atmospheric reason for England's struggles to pick their variations."I didn't face Bishnoi but Chakravarthy is an exceptionally good bowler," he said. "He's tough to pick. I think actually with the smog the other night, it was a lot harder to pick as well. Hopefully, the air is a bit clearer here and we can see the ball a bit easier."He's an exceptional bowler and has got a lot of skills with extreme accuracy as well. Their spinners are their key threat, so we will look to put pressure on them, take them down, put as much pressure as we can on them, and hopefully they crumble from there."It's a familiar refrain from England touring sides. On their 1992-93 visit to India, England's then-chairman of selectors, Ted Dexter, famously attributed his team's emphatic defeat in the first Test, also at Eden Gardens, to smog. Though he was widely lampooned for his remarks, the issue has taken on a more serious aspect in recent years, with India's Test against Sri Lanka at Delhi in 2017 having to be stopped after several players vomited due to the pollution.England are set to make at least one change to the XI in Chennai, with Brydon Carse included as a pace option in place of Gus Atkinson, who endured a night to forget with bat and ball at Kolkata. Jamie Smith has also been included in a 12-man squad, and could step in for Jacob Bethell, who missed training on Friday with illness. The emphatic loss on Wednesday marked a low-key start to Brendon McCullum's tenure as England's white-ball head coach, albeit he had warned "there'll be some times we don't quite get it right" during his pre-series comments to the media last week.Nevertheless, his appointment of Brook as Jos Buttler's vice-captain is further proof of his desire to unite the red- and white-ball squads under a single philosophy, and with as many cross-over performers as possible. And the informal attitude that has powered the Test team's displays in recent seasons was in evidence in the manner with which Brook was offered the deputy's role."We were sat in the bar the other night and Baz texted me from across the other side of the room," he said. "He just said 'Congrats, you're the vice-captain' and I just put: 'Beautiful, thanks.' There wasn't really much conversation."Obviously, I captained the ODIs in the summer so I kind of knew that it was going to happen. You don't have to do too much as a vice-captain; Jos is extremely experienced, I'll give him a few suggestions here and there and if he comes to me, I'll give him my opinion but it's up to him whether he takes it or not."

He is Sandeep Lamichhane discovered by Pubudu Dassanayake at the age of 14 when he was attending the wedding of Basanta Regmi the left-arm spinner at that time. He made his unofficial debut at the age of 15 in November 2015. After his debut, he had many opportunities to show his talent and he delivered as the fans had expected from him. It led him to enlist the young legspinner to participate in the first Hong Kong T20 Blitz in May 2016 with Kowloon Cantons. There, Lamichhane met Michael Clarke, the former captain of Australia, who saw enough in Lamichhane to ask him to travel to Sydney the next Australian summer to play club cricket under Clarke's tutelage.
On September 6, 2022, the tragedy that made all of his fans to be shocked came to the media as he was been caused of raping a minor girl. He was arrested by Nepal police on October 6, 2022. Cricket player Sandeep Lamichhane was fined half a million rupees and given an eight-year prison sentence on Wednesday by the Kathmandu District Court for raping a minor. According to Chandra Prasad Panthi, the district court's information officer, the jail sentence and punishment were decided after taking into account Gaushala-26's age, the victim's name, the accused's social standing at the time of the event, and the psychological distress the victim had to go through. "The Criminal Code Procedure's Section 219 3(e) determined an eight-year jail sentence, and Section 228 fixed the financial penalty," Panthi stated.

Australia chose to bat vs EnglandAustralia have gone with a twin legspin attack for the third ODI in Hobart with Georgia Wareham recalled in place of Darcie Brown on what was a drier pitch than expected.Wareham is playing just her second ODI since last March and was not required to bat or bowl in previous outing against India in December. Her return also lengthens Australia's batting with fellow legspinner Alana King now pushed to No. 9. England struggled significantly against King in Melbourne as she returned 4 for 25 in a matchwinning performance.England have stuck with an unchanged XI meaning they will have fielded the same team throughout the one-day series. There had been some hope that Kate Cross would be fit for this game after back problems, but she has not made the cut.The visitors are in desperate need of two points from this game to enter the T20I leg of the multiformat series at 4-2. If Australia are 6-0 up they will require just two more points to retain the Ashes.Australia: 1 Alyssa Healy (capt & wk), 2 Phoebe Litchfield, 3 Ellyse Perry, 4 Beth Mooney, 5 Annabel Sutherland, 6 Ashleigh Gardner, 7 Tahlia McGrath, 8 Georgia Wareham, 9 Alana King, 10 Kim Garth, 11 Megan SchuttEngland: 1 Tammy Beaumont, 2 Maia Bouchier, 3 Heather Knight (capt), 4 Nat Sciver-Brunt, 5 Danni Wyatt-Hodge, 6 Amy Jones (wk), 7 Alice Capsey, 8 Charlie Dean, 9 Sophie Ecclestone, 10 Lauren Filer, 11 Lauren Bell

How to spin the ball more? By @coach_pradeepkumar #pkyblog #pradeepkumaryadav You might hear many coaches saying to "not fall over", " get side on", or "your arm is pulling away"? Have any coaches taught you how to utilise your legs effectively? I would be willing to bet they haven't. But, Why listen to me when coaches have used this theory from many years? then why to follow me? Generally, I like to find new ideas and analysis them for the betterment of my students. So, studying the science behind this front foot landing to get more spin. I found that the bowlers who applied more force into the ground had greater potential to bowl and spin the ball faster. If this is executed correctly, the bowler will bowl off a braced front leg and all the force generated from the ground is transferred into the upper body and ultimately in the ball. #pkyblog #pkyvlog #thesportingarsenal #tsa #spinner #legspinner #legs #spinclass #bowlersmart #analyst #study #shanewarne #anilkumble #chahal #rcb #ipltreatment #workoutathome #pradeepkumaryadavblog #brace #footwear #landinggear (at Nagpur City) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDqT-pdlQ_7/?igshid=c5hkgib8aitn
