Green Arrow had a new child scientist villain. Who needs glasses?
Danny was already with the many Blob Ghosts working for him (think of them as Minions of Despicable Me). This new place is a super funny vacation place! He should think ghostwriter about it. True, his eyes were hurt by the portal, but that would be gone in a few years. But who cares about it? With just his genius and no powers as a human, he can show he is a genius! That was how Danny, without knowing it, became a wonderful child who was just having chaotic fun in the new world. It's like a game for him; it's not like he would have problems.
Batman has the Joker.
Superman has Lex Luthor.
Wonder Woman has the cheetah.
But Green Arrow! Green Arrow has a child scientist! with a tragic childhood who does musicals to explain his evil plans.
Just for the poor comedy and Oliver trying to hide it from the other heroes out of embarrassment. Of being defeated by a child and not being able to capture him. ++ Danny looked at Oliver Queen without his green Arrow mask. "An ordinary civilian with a goat?" Oliver saw as he put on his hood. Danny:"An ordinary civilian dressed up as a Green Arrow?" Oliver puts on the mask. Danny: "Ah! Green ARROW! " Green Arrow gave a tired sigh. Black Canary:" When we finally are able to capture him, The first thing we will do is send him to an ophthalmologist." Danny:" Since you are here, I wil tell you about my trash-inator!" Oliver:" So It creates trash." Danny:" NO! Man, are you evil? It collects all the trash in the whole city and teleports it away." Black Canary:" That is a pretty good indicator. You could do much goo..." Danny:" Yes, then into the Bat Cave all the trash of the Star city will go. I was paid by Red Hood to do that." Oliver:" NOO!!"
++ So because Oliver covered it up until now, Danny has now become a world-wide problem. Oliver really didn't want to say he lost a child or explain it. Danny with his Shrink Ray:" Tonight we steal the Legion of Doom HQ/The Hall of Justice!" All the Blob Ghost:" YAYY!"
And yes, Danny stole the Legion of Doom HQ/The Hall of Justice as both Heroes and Villian fought each other in a great battle.
That was the moment Oliver had to explain the problem that he had covered up.

DP X DC WRITING PROMPT #2
(Well this is surprising. Not really sure if this idea will make any sense, but here we go.)
(#) = Notes at the end of post
(*) = Just me building off of other ideas
✦
Danny, as Ghost King, gets summoned by the Legion of Doom(?) to help end the Justice League. Except for this summoning fic, they literally summon him off of a GIW lab table where he was being experimented on. Danny is bleeding, barely conscious, and having a really horrible time. This garners a split reaction. Some villains, while surprised, are indifferent. Others are horrified. Not really sure which villains would be which except maybe Lex Luthor(1).
When Danny gets patched up, Lex learns later on that day that he's one of the people responsible for helping pass the Anti-Ecto Acts. However, he only helped passed it to get the people who kept sending it to finally desist, thinking it was all a hoax/big joke and that it wouldn't really matter in the long run. Now he knows it wasn't just a big joke and now that he sees the results of that decision, he regrets it.
While the Legion of Doom isn't short on medical supplies, it's not a great environment for healing, villain or not. Plus, he's kinda useless for the reason he was summoned if he's this seriously wounded. So, he does something he's never done before. He tips off the Justice League about the injured teenage monarch and skedaddles back home and out of the way where he can also start figuring out a way to take down the Anti-Ecto Acts.
Meanwhile, Team Phantom (Sam, Tucker, Jazz, and Valerie. Maybe Wes too for extra humor? 👀) finally have a lock on Danny's location now that he's no longer in a GIW facility--they have ecto-signature blocking technology. They all suit up and get there way before the Justice League and have already taken out the villains still in the LoD HQ by the time they show up and are in the process of trying to transport Danny. The League are a combination of surprised, impressed, and concerned. They invite Team Phantom back to the Watchtower so they can help treat Phantom's injuries.
It's here that the League learns about the Anti-Ecto Acts and what had happened to Phantom to put him in such serious condition. Outraged, a team is organized to hit any GIW facilities and free any citizens of the Infinite Realms while Batman and a few others stay behind to help dismantle the Acts. Team Phantom manage to get the League to agree to have at least one of them on each team they send out, since they have more experience dealing with the GIW and ghosts alike.
With the combination of the League and Lex Luther (unknown to them), the Anti-Ecto Acts are dismantled and the captured ghosts are freed and Danny is all healed up, though still traumatized. His friends help him deal with it--Jazz plus Black Canary are especially invaluable in his psychological healing process. Meanwhile, the JL are incredibly impressed with how knowledgeable and well-trained they are for having no mentors to teach them. Even more so once they hear all the battles they've fought along side Phantom.
The JL come to a decision. They invite all of Team Phantom to join Justice League Dark, the JL subdivision for magic/the occult. After talking it over, they all agree to join.
✦
Thats where it ends unless you wanna continue it from there.
Notes:
(1) Which villains do you think would be sympathetic to Danny's condition? I don't know any of them well enough to pick. Do you think Lex Luther would actually feel sympathy for Danny? Small redemption arc? Do him and Danny meet again at some point on somewhat good terms?
(*) Maybe continue it with reactions from the Team from Young Justice? Maybe they're upset that some out of town teenagers got a JL invitation before they even got theirs? In response the JL have Team Phantom meet and train with Team YJ to get them to realize why exactly they were invited to join.

Jim having zero people skills because of his workaholic nature is such an interesting take on the character.
This is the same guy who left his wife alone in a secluded chalet with no possible way of getting home the moment he got a new job offer. He's become that desperate to give his life meaning because staying busy is all he knows how to do.
He doesn't even take issue with the fact that he's working for the Legion of Doom, which is filled with various villains who used to make his life a living hell back when he was commissioner.
Now sure, one could argue that it is kinda annoying that Jim is still being portrayed as an idiot this far into the series, but I think it's fine.
The series is a comedy that pokes fun at the DC Universe, but it's never done in a cynical way.
This version of Jim Gordon might be a terrible husband and father, but he's not unsympathetic. As you do end up feeling slightly sorry for him when it turns out that he has to sleep in the Legion of Doom HQ because he literally gave up everything for this new job.

MSRA x Batfam: I know you already said that the mechs are significantly weaker if someone who's quirkless is piloting them but I just remembered that there's an issue of Justice League where Batman turns the Hall of Justice into a giant mech and dukes it out with Lex Luthor piloting a similarly-turned-into-a-mech Legion of Doom HQ and I can't get that image of a giant Bat-mech out of my head.
WayneCorp might be the sole market exception

The Greatest Story Never Told (super heroing for fun and profit)
[All images are owned by DC Comics and WarnerMedia. I hope I’m too small-fry to sue...]
As I have previously said, I am more a fan of the B- and C-list heroes (much like the junior Justice League members above. Who can name them all without Google?) than the Batmans and X-Men of the comic world. So you can imagine my thrill every time the main roster of JLU took a back seat to allow others to shine.
In fact, this episode features one of my favorite DC heroes of all time: Booster Gold!
What makes Booster appeal to me so much? I really don’t know. I had written him off when he made his debut, and I didn’t warm to him until he joined Justice League International and became best friends with another favorite of mine, Blue Beetle (Ted Kord)
(Thanks to GamesRadar)
Booster (AKA Michael John Carter) was a 25th century sports star who threw a game for money, disgracing him to the point he could only get a janitor’s job at a museum. Then he found tech from the past in the displays (well, except Superboy’s Legion flight ring from the 30th century), including a time machine, all of which he stole (as well as his companion robot Skeets) and went back to the 20th century where he used his (well, Skeet’s) knowledge of past events to become a super hero, trying to get the fame and fortune he lost in his own time. At least this version isn’t as complete a sellout as he was Smallville
(Thanks to Amino Apps)
However, despite his gloryhounding, when the chips are down he gives his all and proves he’s actually a hero. And that’s what this episode focuses on. If you would like to watch it, it’s available on KissCartoon.
We open to Booster having just defeated some sort of giant robot. Problem is, no one knows who Booster Gold is. No worries, as Skeets has a promotional video cued up for such an occasion. By the time the video ends, the crown is fed up with the blatant self-promotion and walks away, except one kid who asks for his autograph, only to be disappointed he’s not Green Lantern (You do know the current Green Lantern is black, right?)
Later at the Watchtower (the orbital fortress that serves as Justice League HQ), Booster is trying to pressure Martian Manhunter into assigning him more high-profile missions so he can get better press. At that time, Wonder Woman calls...
Mordru is rampaging all over Metropolis, and the heroes on the ground need help! Just what the Booster ordered! Cue the opening credits!
Martian Manhunter assembles every able hero available...and Booster. The heroes teleport to the surface for assignments.
youtube
(Thanks to mister custodian)
Now, I know this sequence is to hammer the point that Booster gets no respect, but COME ON! Booster is thinking he’s not destined for greatness, and that maybe he’s doomed to crowd control forever.
Then an explosion happens (that is not from the battle with Mordru) at a nearby research lab! Booster rushes to the lab to help, and one of the evacuating scientists say someone may still be inside.
Booster finds the someone (Dr. Simmons) Skeets checks her vitals while Booster checks her out (no wonder you’re still on crowd control!) Dr. Simmons wakes up, stating everyone is doomed. When Booster tries to assure her he’s here to help, Dr. Simmons explains that an alternative power source got loose after an explosion (that her colleague Dr. Brown was caught in) and now the world is doomed. Booster isn’t worried (probably because he didn’t understand a word of it) and want to know where this power source is so he can Save The Day.
The “power source” is a black hole, that has merged with Dr. Brown. You are so screwed, Booster!
Booster immediately calls the Watchtower for support, but J’onn hangs up on him, telling him to get back to crowd control. Booster consults with Dr. Simmons, who has some sort of containment collar that should neutralize the black hole in Dr. Brown’s chest.
Outside, it’s pretty easy to spot Dr. Brown...
Booster takes the collar, telling Dr. Simmons to get a safe distance away. Booster thinks this will be easy, but some of the debris Dr. Brown is drawing in gets past him, colliding with Booster.
As he rushes to catch up, he hears a scream from a nearby ambulance (after the EMTs get a case of black hole-itis) Booster opens the ambulance to discover...
Hope Skeets has medical knowledge in his databank, cuz I can guarantee Booster doesn’t know how to deliver a baby! He tries to foist the expectant mother on Dr. Simmons, but she’s not that kind of doctor. She grabs the collar, leaving Booster to midwife. Some time later, the woman gives birth.
“Thank you, Green Lantern!”
Seriously?!
Booster gets back on the trail of Drs. Brown and Simmons.
I think he found them. Dr. Simmons is being drawn toward the black hole, but Booster manages to pull her away. The two share a Look...then a Gaze...and as they draw closer...
...Skeets shows up to bring them back to reality. Oh well...back to work.
Booster heads into the subway to deal with Dr. Brown...
...as he swallows the C-train. This seems to take a lot out of Dr. Brown, so Booster prepares the collar...
...right in the path of the F-train. Fortunately, his force field keeps him from being totally flattened. If you thought he’d hit rock bottom before, now he’s ready to hang up his stolen suit.
He mopes out, but puts on a brave face for Dr. Simmons as he gives it one more go. He approaches from behind once more...
...but then the battle with Mordru (remember that?) intersects with Booster’s mission (Batman’s gonna be pissed that Booster isn’t on crowd control) Dr. Brown turns to save his friend, but...
...there’s a casualty as Skeets is drawn in as well as the animated building! With the building, the black hole in Dr. Brown’s chest hits critical mass and begins to draw everything in. Dr. Simmons says Booster can still save the day, then Booster spills the beans about his past.
However, Dr. Simmons doesn’t care who he was, just that he’s here and Superman isn’t. With that pep talk, Booster grabs the collar and gives a last ditch effort, hurling himself in the path of the black hole...
...and snaps it in place as he’s sucked in. The black hole immediately spits Booster back out...
...along with everything else it sucked in. Booster Gold saved the world! (and no one saw him do it, dammit!) With that, he mopes off into the sunset.
Meanwhile, the battle with Mordru (remember that?) is over except for the cleanup...
...and, as predicted, Batman is pissed that Booster left his assignment.
“Excuse me, Green Lantern?”
Oh, that is it! Booster’s gonna give that person what--
Turns out is was Dr. Simmons...Tracy...giving Booster a hard time, asking if Booster is able to have dinner with her, or if he’s busy with cleanup.
“Who, me? Nah, I’m strictly crowd control.” as they stroll off into the sunset.

How could "World War I" actually happen in One Punch Man? A social, legal, and military breakdown:
[Credit to /u/shadowii66 on reddit for all his great insight and debate regarding what many, myself included, believe to be an upcoming Superhero Civil War (even if he disagree and argues it won't happen). Much of this will be a rehash of our long in depth discussion, so I will try and summarize.]
#I. What is necessary for a civil war to happen?
(A) Both sides need to be partially justified/have partial public support:
If one side is presented as too unjustified/too univerally hated, then they can't actually fight, example, if the HA or Neo-Heroes attacked the other simply to seize power, not only will society turn on them, but most of their own heroes will refuse to fight on their behalf. Remember, the majority are not soldiers but heroes, they fight for individual reasons, not blind obedience.
(B) One side needs to declare war on the other:
Even if both have justification and at least some public support, one or both sides needs to take the step to act on it, to decide that, else it will simply continue to compete with popularity, funding, and public discourse. They need to take matters into their own.... and destroy the other Association by force.
(C) The majority of heroes on both sides need to fight:
Even if both sides are partially justified and one side makes the daring to declare war, the heroes still need to fight. If one sides heroes refused, it would simply be a coup, a manhunt, or a bloodless revolution and political takeover. Not a real war.
(D) Both sides must rival each other in military power:
If one side has an insurmountable and overwhelming power advantage, the war will end the minute it begins, with one side demolishing the other in a single battle. So the only way a war can actually be waged is if it is competitive, if victory and defeat hang in the balance for each group of heroes.
#II. How COULD the Civil War happen?
(A) Neo-Heroes declare war on the HA on charges of corruption, inefficiency, and endangering humanity:
The Neo-Heroes claim the HA leaders are criminals that need to be arrested for their crimes (and they would be right): money laundering+bribery+monster black market trade/putting a donor's son before humanity itself/nearly all their best heroes defeats by a single human teenager, the hero hunter/heroes like Bofoi and Tornado causing massive collateral damage through incompetence/any heroes who defend the HA are supporting the corruption and criminal collaborators.
The Neo-Heroes march on City A to arrest the HA execs, the "Old Heroes" refuse to let them, an all out battle breaks out. Presumably the Neo-Heroes are driven back (else the HA would fall and the war would be over), maybe the HA launches their own attack on the Neo-Hero HQ, in any case, the war continues.
(B) Either Metal Knight is framed as a villain, or the Organization/Neo-hero ties are made public:
If the Organization can frame Bofoi as a villain, either by having replica Metal Knight drones attack the Neo-Heroes or even civilians, or better yet, frame Child Emperor as a HA terrorist seeking to destroy the Neo Heroes. Since Child Emperor is too smart to eat up the war propaganda of the Neo-Heroes (Edit 1), AND he will be investigating the Neo-Heroes from the inside, which the Organization does NOT want.
But if the Organization/Neo Hero ties are made public? The HA can justifiably say the Neo-Heroes are working for villains, allies of the MA, AND illegal arms dealers/criminals. The corrupt, desperate HA leaders would be all too willing for an excuse to attack the Neo-Heroes, who threaten their very existence, especially by stealing donors and hero recruits. Same scenario of one association attacking the other, just with attacker/defender reversed.
(C) [Argued by /u/shadowii66] A Civil War cannot happen:
The Old Heroes won't fight to protect the corrupt and criminal HA execs.
The Neo-Hero members won't attack other heroes on false charges.
The Old Heroes saved the world from the aliens and MA, so they cannot simply be labelled as criminals and villains to justify fighting them.
[/u/shadowii66 If there are any major reasons I mistated/left out feel free to correct me]
#III. What events CANNOT happen, which would nullify the Civil War?
(A) Blast, Tornado, or Metal Knight join the war:
They are too powerful, and would give the HA too great an advantage. Thankfully, Blast has chosen to remain absent so far, and the other two have been discredited and will likely not take action.
(B) The Organization launches an attack on the world prematurely:
That would unite the heroes against them, and force them to overcome their differences and work together to fight them. Also, the Organization would lose the brilliant strategy of using the Neo-Heroes as cannon fodder to take down the HA/gather battle data on all the Old Heroes+Neo-Heroes+human fighters in general (and maybe have the Neo-Heroes go after Bofoi to force him to reveal his robot army prematurely).
(C) God or the Ninja Leader become public villains too early:
While they very well may be playing a large role on the sidelines, perhaps manipulating the war for their own benefit, and may even show up at the end, there can’t be a main villain too early. They are in a similar bind as the Organization, if they are too open and threaten the world too greatly, the heroes would ally to fight them (though it would still be glorious if one of the battles between several S-Class and Neo-Leaders is cut short by the Ninja Leader showing up and curbstomping all of them in an instant... they wouldn't even know how they were defeated).
#IV. How COULD the Civil War end?
(A) The Hero Association falls:
This is the Organization's whole purpose for the Civil War... to destroy the HA with humanity's own fighters, and also gathering a complete database of all the strength, style, and abilities of every hero. Meaning that even the S-Class will be utterly crushed by whatever perfect matchups the Organization creates to defeat them (not simply mix and matching random monsters like Psykos did). With all the heroes, both Old and Neo, as good as defeated, only Bofoi and Blast (maybe King as well?)(Edit 3) will be left to oppose them. and then... THEN they will strike.
(B) The Neo-Heroes fall:
The Organization's plan fails, the HA remains standing, though obviously greatly weakened, multiple cities in shambles, the heroes even more demoralized and worn out than they were from fighting the monsters. Still beneficial to the Organization, but not the great victory they had hoped for.
(C) A Third Side defeats/unites both HA and Neo-Heroes:
Could be the Hero Name Victims Association, could be the Ninja Leader, could be Blast, could be a disciple of God, could Blast, hey, crazy idea, could be the Organization or Bofoi for all anyone knows. The main issues is that the Third Side can’t take the spotlight til late in the Civil War (preferably when either it is clearly a stalemate or one side is clearly winning/losing). That way the Civil War conflict can actually be fully fleshed out. And either has an army wide reaching and effective enough to defeat both groups, or does not and the heroes on either side align.
(D) The HA and Neo-Heroes make peace:
Errr... possible? But both the HA and Neo-Heroes are hopelessly corrupt in their very structure.... based on support from either opportunistic morally unscrupulous businessmen... or foreign technological civilizations who have their own ends in mind. They cannot accept the degeneracy they both share, deny responsibility for... and accuse the other of having. Even a theoretical alliance in corruption would be doomed to fail sooner rather that, when their usefulness for each other is gone.
#V. What will happen after this Civil War Saga is over?
By “over”, what is meant is simply that the themes and story of the Civil War is fully tied up, that would include, say, when the Ninja Leader returns or the fallout from one or both Associations falling has had its impact. That the Civil War Saga is over, and a new saga is beginning. And the next saga is obviously the Organization Saga. The Civil War, successful or not, is over, there is no more use to be gained out of staying in the shadows. The time has come for machines to overshadow mankind, all the squabbles between chaotic monsters, naive martial artists, arrogant heroes, and greedy mercenaries will be nothing compared to the two greatest military powers the world has ever seen (Edit 2): Dr. Bofoi/Metal Knight, with his legions of mass produced, stockpiled, and obedient battle drones… and the Organizations elite, freshly upgraded, and intellectually genius AIs and cyborgs. Oh, and Genos is there too!
#VI. Final Notes:
Edit 1: Child Emperor explicity stated he doesn’t trust the Neo-Heroes and wants to keep an eye on them.
Edit 2: The HA, MA, and NHA were all mostly dependent on random, biological prodigies. Which is great in the short term, they collected the best fighters they could find available and put them to work doing what they do best. However… they can’t actually produce talent reliably (even Psykos was lucky to get Orochi and then Garou to grow exponentially, just as the HA was lucky to get Genos). Whereas Bofoi and the Organization? All the need is data, raw materials, and time… and they can produce an army. And they both have had plenty of all three.
Edit 3: The Organization may decide that King is purposely hiding his fighting style, therefore they don’t seek him out... and lo and behold, he doesn’t come after them and wipe them out!

Harley Quinn anon again, something that I keep thinking about is how Harley and Ivy kept referring to the Legion trio (Bane, Scarecrow, Two Face) as assholes/dicks. But they literally weren't? They were perfectly happy to hang out with Harley at the bar mitzvah and appeared to enjoy her company until Joker showed up and exerted peer pressure. They never insult her or demean her and only attacked her at Joker's bidding and obviously held no hard feelings after. So what the hell?!
I KNOW!! I KNOW!!!! i would love the hq show to stop bullying bane, thank you very much. i think this mostly stems from the lovely combo of aiming for (very empty) grrl power and having exactly zero women on the production crew so u end up with stuff like “oh lets just hate men cause they SUCK yes this is what real women are like” and then we’re shown over and over and over again that harley herself is as much of an asshole as joker
ALSO IM STILL MAD ABOUT JOKER BEING INEXPLICABLY SUCH A BIG DEAL IN THE LEGION OF DOOM literally no one in their life has ever ever listened to joker hes not even part of the legion generally

What are we going through, you and me?
Summary: Faced with an opportunity to address that which he’d thought was long-forgotten, Armin was still able to acknowledge the existence of his own human frailties. (Takes place sometime after the recapture of Shiganshina. Canon-divergent.) [Ao3 | FFNet.]
a/n: And now for something completely different!
Despite the pairing(s) listed, I wouldn't really call this fic purely romantic, at least not in the traditional sense, which is why it's not labeled "romance"; in terms of the themes addressed herein, I'm leaving it up to you to decipher what you will. It's certainly not the happiest story, but it's not complete doom-and-gloom, either. Mild pretentions aside, I haven't written Armin in ages, so this was a nice change!
Title comes from the song "Hairpin Turns", by The National.
It had been three months to the day the Titans surrounding Paradis were all exterminated, yet there was nothing much to be done at present. Rebuilding the damages and consoling the families of those recently deceased took up time, consumed resources, and once the illusion of immediacy fell away it left Armin bitter, yearning for an attack, something, anything to indicate their victory was not so hollowly earned; but that change had already come, and he did not wish to consider that he might for a minute sound like Eren.
To-day: a sunny after-noon alone in the library at Trost’s Legion HQ, waiting for Eren to come back from another series of tests with Commander Hanji; his powers were only beginning to grow, and making guillotines out of crystal was just one proven expenditure. Mikasa was busy enough, training with Captain Levi to assume a similar position; Armin was happy for her, even if it didn’t alleviate his loneliness. Annie made decent company when she decided to tag along.
“Why does he do it?” Armin thought aloud, already knowing the answer. Eren will never be content until he’s sure that his actions are well-earned. It might kill him someday.
“He wants to think he’s in control of himself,” Annie said, matter-of-factly. “What about you?”
Armin hesitated. “What about me?”
“Are you in control?”
“That’s a broad statement. I don’t have the context to answer you appropriately.”
Annie seemed to ruminate on that for a while. “What context?”
He figured she could see it in his eyes, or sense it in his hunched posture; the duality he tried to suffocate, this conflict between the friend he feared to lose and the tenuous alliance he’d formed with her — for now.
(Annie’s betrayal was old news to most who were there when she’d first crystallised herself — and there was really no one left to care about her besides Eren or Hanji. She’s like a bug behind glass, he’d thought, in the days before she’d woken up. A petty nuisance. I don’t know why we’re bothering to keep her.
Though Eren had likely surpassed her in sheer ability, by now; perhaps she was still superior in terms of technique? Supposing Eren’s Titan would be able to consume her — well, it’s called the Female Titan — or was the title more significant?)
“He’s told me before, what he thinks will happen after the Marley arrive. I don’t think he’s too keen on budging,” Armin grumbled.
“Have you asked him lately?”
Armin couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “Why do you care?”
She shrugged. “I don’t, really.”
Armin considered that. Regardless of his inheritance, he was sure that he had never felt anything towards her before, besides apathy. He told himself in his head until it stuck — but it was something beyond his control, at least theoretically, and he could not afford that kind of vulnerability. It made him leery to talk to her, but it also forced him to try; he would not be cowed by mere hypotheticals. Besides, it was nice to talk to somebody who didn’t expect much in return.
“You’re his friend, Arlert. It’s not my job to be a messenger.”
He had tried talking with Eren. Several times, in fact. It usually went something like this:
“This revenge you want so desperately; it’s not end-all, so what will be left afterwards?”
“We’ll have ended the war,” Eren said simply. He sounded tired, more often these days, in a sense that Hanji’s ruthless testing or the strange new anxiety brought on in a world without Titans could not be faulted for; it penetrated his eyes, went beyond the physical strain. Armin did find it wearisome to keep running around the same concepts like this, day-in, day-out, like military ritual. That was one of the bigger reasons they weren’t talking so much; let Eren come to him for a change, for old time’s sake.
And Armin couldn’t remember the last time they had talked about unimportant matters, but he himself had no patience for triviality anymore. The sight of the ocean had thrilled him, yes — enough to smuggle back a shell with him in his quarters, while Eren had carried nothing at all but his newfound revenge — but that had been some time ago. Armin did not want to see the new cadets that would never quite understand what it was exactly they were being trained for, would never experience the fresh horror of something like Trost, watching your best friend slip away into the belly of a Titan and know you could do nothing but scream.
(There was hardly a need anymore, Armin mused, to strongly emphasise teaching them how to use manoeuvre gear. Give them guns, and instruct them more thoroughly in how to lead each other to victory in human combat — it was only a matter of time, given what he and Eren had seen in flashes, this terrifying, beautiful World Beyond the Walls.)
Eren was the only one who would humour him and listen when they talked about strategy — Annie was becoming familiar, but Armin did not like to dwell on this notion for long, as it incited the same pit of mistrust in his gut; she was never your friend, she may have spared you once, better not to test it, despite what Bertholdt’s memories say.
This ritual began every time he put his thoughts to paper: your name is Armin Arlert, you are sixteen years old, no, seventeen, and you are in the Scouting Legion.
He supposed his friendship with Eren was not something that would last indefinitely, no more than Eren’s relationship with Annie, but nothing was truly indefinite from the human perspective. Mortality was their only constant.
Armin was a patient boy, now nearly a man, though he did not feel like he had grown up very much between the years. Several years of exhaustive military training had hardened his body, but that could be said for any one of them. Now, the miraculous, unexpected nature of his rebirth turned him strange and flawless. Cuts were quick to heal and he did not tire as easily as he had before. Energy was abundant, always itching beneath his skin and muscles.
The Colossus Titan, when he transformed, was nothing like what he had imagined it would be, all those times pulling Eren from the nape of his Titan, feeling the heat of his skin. It was a laborious thing, heavy on his back and in his chest, burning so intensely he knew it would have grievously wounded him as a mortal boy.
It stuck with him upon reawakening in the Garrison’s infirmary, Mikasa at his side.
“Eren’s worried,” she’d confided, “about you.”
Of course, he had thought. Eren is still my friend. We may have our differences, but even so, he’s my friend. He’d die for me still, and I don’t deserve it. I don’t deserve him.
All he had said was: “Tell him I’d love to talk.”
“I’m worried about you,” Armin told Eren now, careful to keep his tone clinical. “You shouldn’t push yourself too hard; you’ll be ill-fit for combat.”
“You sound like Mikasa.” Eren wiped his nose, sitting up on the cot. “Both of you worry too much. It’s going to shorten your lifespan.” He flashed him a grin through the crimson blotting his lip; Armin did not reciprocate.
“You don’t talk to anyone about normal things, anymore. All you seem to care about, from my perspective, is this war that we haven’t even started yet. We don’t know exactly what is out there waiting for us.”
“It’s out there, we can’t ignore it forever. And why d'you care?” His tone was oddly brittle, churlish. Armin didn’t understand.
“You’re — we’re friends, Eren.”
“So what? I can look after myself.”
If the right person talked to him, gave him a clear sense of direction, he would probably do almost anything if it meant getting a leg up over the enemy. Armin felt tired again.
“I never asked you to worry about me,” Eren said bluntly. “Not all the time. We can —” he glanced back at him, suddenly anxious “— shit, I mean. I want to look after you, as well.”
“You’re not — this isn’t like what you have with Annie,” Armin said, defensive, “and you know it, don’t you?”
Eren let his hand drop, curling to an empty fist. “Armin,” he croaked. “That’s not what I meant.”
But the emotion was there, bleeding into his voice, the clenching of his jaw. Armin felt light-headed. “What are you saying, then?”
Eren’s face contorted, like he was at odds with himself. “I…” he licked his lips, would not meet Armin’s eyes, “I thought you’d moved on, so.”
Armin resisted the urge to take him by the shoulders and demand clarification. “You replaced me in your mind with someone else? Is that it?” He could not help the incredulity.
Eren’s scowl deepened. “What? Goddammit, no. You’re different from her, but that’s not…” he grit his teeth, “I-I care about you. Both of you, not like Mikasa, and — I don’t want to see you hurt, but… Christ, I don’t know what that means.” He looked miserable within conviction. Armin wasn’t sure what to make of this.
“Does Annie know?”
Eren flushed. “Shit, I dunno.”
Mikasa wasn’t around often enough to give counsel; Armin had never really how much they struggled without her until now. But they were only getting older, and there was the ambiguity of the future ahead of them. They would need to work this out on their own.
“Are you going to tell her, then?”
Eren blenched, but did not answer.
It was a week or so before Eren got back with him; during this time, Armin found it difficult to hold conversation with Annie, who had gone quieter than usual. He threw himself into his duties as a solider and tried very, very hard not to dwell upon ambiguities.
Puberty had afflicted him later than most of his peers in Military Academy, which had kept his mind sharp, of course, but also disillusioned him greatly to the prospect of sex and desire — even now, it was something he treated as inefficient, messy and not something he could afford if he wanted to get ahead in life. Ignoring it was less of an option as he grew older. Masturbation was only a short-term solution; and it was difficult not to acknowledge who it was he circled back to in the end; he had tried blocking this out, thinking about other boys who would never look his way — not a difficult feat. This was hardly the time to address it. But when was that prudent moment, exactly? Was he going to be hoping until the day he died for something that simply didn’t exist outside the boundaries of his ill-fitting, selfish desire to be wanted, like anyone else?
But Eren had said that he wanted him. He wanted him. He would not, could not, dispel this truth from his mind, invoking a dangerous, possibly hedonistic sense of optimism that kept him humming, impatient for what was next.
“Armin.”
“So what did she say?” Armin asked him at last. “Annie, I mean.” Eren didn’t answer immediately. “You did ask her?”
“I think she knew.” He sounded mystified. “She didn’t really say anything. Is that, uh.” He looked hopefully to Armin, who wasn’t sure he liked where this was going — he told himself this firmly.
“What are you getting at?”
“Is it bad?” Eren mumbled, “that I, you know.” They bumped shoulders; in the context of their conversation, it was a strangely intimate gesture.
Armin chewed his lip. “I don’t know, Eren.”
Eren laughed, low and nervous. “Well, I meant what I told you. And…” he chanced a glance at him, “I want to show you, what I mean.”
Armin’s head was spinning. Eren’s hand was rough and sure in his.
“I-I really don’t think that’s —” Armin trailed off, half-hearted.
Eren squeezed. “I want you to know. Not just by me saying it.”
“What about Annie?” Armin blurted.
“Didn’t you talk to her?”
Armin could feel his face go hot. “What are you — oh God, Eren, she’s not my friend.”
Their laughter was shared, anxious. “O.K., O.K., I’ll get her. We can talk —” his thumb kissed the ridges of his knuckles “— about this, someplace quieter. Meet me up at the square to-morrow morning, I’ve got nothing to do before then.”
The place to meet, as it turned out, was a non-descript inn somewhere in Trost’s outskirts. The man at the bar seemed confused when he asked for the names of his fellow soldiers.
“We’re travelling through the city together on down-time,” said Armin confidently; it was a white lie, after all. “We were planning on staying for a while —”
“Three of you?” the man cut in. Armin did his best not to look confused.
“That’s correct, sir.”
“If they’re not out on the town, I expect they’re up there. Already paid in advance. The room’s the second one on your left, as soon as you come up the stairs.”
Armin could barely contain himself. “Th-thank you, sir.” Climbing the stairs with a mounting sense of anticipation, his hand gripping the rail tightly. He barely took in his surroundings, looked instead for the room on the left; the door was closed, which was a little worrying. He heard movement behind the door and lifted his hand to knock.
Someone cursed; footsteps approaching, and before Armin could hope that he’d picked the right room, the door opened and Eren was there. He looked dishevelled, missing his jacket and boots — Armin’s eyes settled on the ridge of his clavicle.
“Armin,” he said lowly. “Glad you could make it.”
“What’s with — oh.”
Eren looked at Annie, who looked back at him half-naked from the bed, and Armin felt a little like dashing out quickly, inconspicuously, while there was still time to forget this had ever happened, but his feet wouldn’t move.
It was Eren who met his eyes again, muttered: “Close the door behind you.”
“Arlert?” Annie, sitting up, eying him intently. Her nudity seemed less indecent in close-quarters — or maybe he was just starting to accept this as a venerable outcome.
He was afraid, in the back of his mind, of what he would see when he looked at her — the memory of the surrogate intercepted by its inheritance — but they had known each other before, as cadets, then enemies, now soldiers, and had talked with their own names, and he was sure enough that he possessed memories before the retaking of Shiganshina, a personality that was all his own. But the same could be said of Eren.
“I-I’m not sure what you expect me to say,” Armin muttered, staring intently at the wall above her left shoulder. “I didn’t think you’d get started without me.”
“Is that what you think it is about?”
Armin flustered. “God, no. I don’t — want that to be the reason I’m agreeing to —” he could not look at Eren for very long without his mouth going dry.
Annie frowned. “No one said you had to agree to anything.”
It was Eren who reached out and touched his shoulder; his hands were very warm, and Armin wasn’t sure anymore, what or who he needed. “Armin,” he said, very quietly. “What d'you want?”
“I —” his voice broke; he sucked in a furious breath “— I want to be sure this is my choice, right now, not — anyone else’s.” He did not add that there were several other, less emotionally compromising ways to accomplish this feat. “I don’t want to get in the way of this,” speaking quickly, evasive, “I can leave now, if you —” Eren’s grip on him turned brusque; Armin flinched before he could stop himself.
“This isn’t just about us,” said Annie. “It's… ” she faltered; offering reassurance was clearly not what she was used to, “…you and I, Arlert, we’re not together. So we have nothing to lose.”
“Because you have each other,” said Armin, forcing himself to be patient, because neither of them would acknowledge what seemed to him so laughably, irrefutably obvious.
Her eyes hardened. “Well, you aren’t like Bertholdt, are you?”
Armin shot her a furious look; how dare she bring that up now.
“Enough,” said Eren curtly. Annie relented. “Right, Armin. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want, but. I don’t mind if you stay a little longer.” He had softened at the edges, his gruffness giving way to a kind of reckless certainty that Armin knew all-too well.
“What do you mean, stay?”
“You could watch,” Eren muttered, going pink. “Think about it, then decide for yourself.” He looked once more to Annie; she was sitting up straight, almost impatient. Armin didn’t quite understand when Eren flashed him a cautious grin before walking over to rejoin her.
“Hold on, what about her?” Armin retorted.
Annie blinked. “What about me, Arlert.”
“I —” suppressing the need to roll his eyes, because he didn’t always want to be the sense of reason “— shouldn’t we talk about this, first?”
Annie blinked. “He’s willing, I’m willing, and you’re still here.”
Armin opened his mouth to dispute the point, but what was there to dispute? She didn’t want him the way she did Eren, and he wouldn’t have asked her to feel that way, but — maybe it wasn’t so concrete, anyway.
“You want me to watch,” he repeated. “Both of you.”
He could see the blush splotching her cheeks as Eren rucked down her trousers. No one said anything to the contrary. Armin was still able to acknowledge the existence of his own human frailties; bit his tongue, weighing the desire that he had thought he’d long-since forgotten, but had known to be there all along.
“O.K.,” he said lowly. “You, uh, don’t have to wait for me.”
Annie’s eyes glinted. She took Eren’s face in her hands, muttered something he couldn’t make out at this distance. Eren swallowed dryly.
They were kissing again. A tentativeness persisted in Eren’s hands as he pulled her into his lap, cupping her thighs and stomach and breasts, kissing her slow. Armin wondered if that was ritual, or if he should be thinking about their private lives in detail; in the present, Annie grunted and held Eren to her breast. Armin wanted to avert his eyes completely, but that would defeat the point, so in compromise he tried looking at her face.
They locked eyes and Armin couldn’t have said a word, even if he’d wanted. She seemed to jolt in turn, wide-eyed and flushed, but then she groaned, rolling her hips against Eren’s thigh, mussing his hair.
“Armin,” she tried, the syllables heavy on her tongue, “Armin, c'mere.”
Eren’s shoulders shifted beneath. “Oi, are you still over there…?” he teased.
They weren’t putting him on the spot, but it elicited the same swoop in his gut. They had talked about this before, then. He did not love her, not in this way; but of course, one didn’t need to be in love to fuck another person? Shouldn’t think like that. Shouldn’t think at all, actually.
“Shit —” groaning, she tucked her head away. Eren kissed her in concern.
“Wanna stop?”
“No.” Her voice was small.
“Hey, look. We, uh, don’t have to.”
“Do you want —” she bit her lip, undulating “— this? Us?”
Armin wondered who she was asking, really. Eren shivered. “Fuck, I…” he seemed to forget how to speak a moment, “yeah.”
Annie raised her head. Her eyes were shiny when she called: “Arlert?”
On the bed, in a daze, he didn’t remember getting there. And they didn’t kiss, didn’t touch, just held him. Mainly Eren. He could smell him, this close. Now, kissing him — would she feel left out? — Eren, palming him roughly through his chinos. “You want this, too?”
Armin nodded. “What do you…” going quiet as it struck him that perhaps Eren, like him, hadn’t thought about this in a while.
“Strip,” he told him. “I want to see you.”
Armin unbuttoned himself with trembling fingers. Eren drank him in silently, the same unabashed desire in his eyes.
“You’re beautiful, both of you,” Eren muttered, flushed up to his ears — Annie bit her lip — and Armin felt ten times warmer than he had before. Eren seemed at a loss for what to do with himself after this revelation.
“Armin,” he croaked, nuzzling him, reaching for her. “Annie.” She stretched herself out languidly on the bed, eliciting a low sigh. Armin still felt overwhelmed. “You wanna go first, or…?” he grunted, nudging him with his shoulder, and Armin realised he meant him.
Armin scowled. “You were busy.”
“Now I’m not.” Licked his lips, hesitant, then said bravely: “Want me to suck you?”
Armin stared blankly at him. Even Annie made a little huffing noise in the back of her throat.
“I meant it,” Eren grumbled, going pink again. “I want to.”
Annie made no effort to conceal her amusement; Armin scoffed in retort. Eren took him by the shoulder.
“You trust me, yeah?” he muttered, and the sudden switch to undertones told him that he had not had much practise.
In an effort to save face, Armin said: “I’ll do it first.”
Eren stopped dead. “Shit, Armin.”
“Let me try,” he insisted. He did not add that he was worried he wouldn’t be able to control himself.
Eren shivered with delight, kissing him. “O.K., O.K.” Then put him on his knees — must’ve known, then, what he really wanted — and he ached for what was going to happen. It was Eren who sighed, offering himself promptly.
So Armin kissed it. Eren gasped a little, which was encouragement enough to continue; kissing, tonguing the head, until he was pushed back and Eren was muttering his name, yes, his name, stricken, and it was the same heady rush of infatuation as in dreams, only dizzyingly strong. So Armin took it in his mouth and the hand in his hair drew a fist, tugging him forward. Annie’s weight shifted, came around his back, her mouth soft and sure over his nape and — he moaned drunkenly when he felt her hands curl around him, and Eren cursed, tugged a bit harder.
Armin felt him hit the back of his throat and gagged; Eren cupped his face, mumbling feverish apologies. He wanted Eren at his back, touching him, kissing him; he wanted him inside, he wanted to be fucked, giddy and terrified at the thought, but not in front of anyone else, not Annie.
In the end, Eren didn’t let him finish and he was left gasping, indignant. “Don’t wanna come like that,” he mumbled. “You O.K.?”
“Fine,” Armin grunted, sitting up and blotting at his mouth. Annie kissed his cheek tentatively. “Oi,” he muttered, reaching back for her, “you don’t have to —” melting when she pumped him again, and he moaned “— God, will you just — ah!”
“Shh,” she breathed, catching his thighs and digging in lightly with her nails. “Not yet.”
Armin groaned, his hips churning on air. Eren just laughed hoarsely, leaning in close enough to kiss but speaking soft instead: “How do you want us?”
So Armin rolled over onto his back and Annie was straddling him, cautious; he understood, vaguely, what he was supposed to do and took her by the hips, sank. He felt Eren come up behind him again, nipping his jaw, sitting him up, pulling him back by the waist and grinding recklessly against his ass and — it was too real, all of a sudden.
“Wait —” he gasped, arms back to brace himself insufficiently. “Eren, I can’t.” Too many variables outside of his control; diseases, the lack of any proper lubrication — he felt again like an obstruction, the weight of reality becoming an insufferable inconvenience.
Eren didn’t let go, kissed his neck: “We don’t have to.” The same anxiety echoed in his voice; Armin was light-headed.
It was Annie who gripped his chin, said: “Arlert.” She drew herself up on her knees and sank down slow. It felt good enough that he could relax, somewhat.
Eren, to his credit, wrapped his arms around them both and started to move in tandem. Clumsy, because none of them had ever done this before, but Annie was solid in his lap, kissing him pointedly, and Eren behind him, holding his hips, nose in his hair — he was getting taller every month, it seemed — this was such a simplistic, base way to express affection; Armin tried to think, but it was easier to hold her waist, kiss down her throat to the little jumping pulse in her neck — read once about this, because he was curious about the stimuli that was all — and her breath stuttered, walls squeezing him aptly.
He knew he wanted to move faster but couldn’t, pinned between their bodies, too warm to think with any kind of clarity.
“Wait,” he gasped. “Wait, you two.”
“Hunh?”
“What?”
Their responses were almost synchronous; Armin had to chuckle. “I-I can’t really do much, from this position.”
“Oh.” Eren was sheepish. Annie held his gaze.
“Move back a little,” Armin said to her.
She raised her eyebrows, but obliged; she was pretty enough, he supposed, leaning back on her hands against his knees and exposing herself inadvertently — he didn’t look down, figuring that would be too much. She didn’t look away as she sank onto him again, but her eyes fluttered when he twitched, unable to help his body’s reaction.
She tried a couple more times, panting slyly, grunting in satisfaction once she found whatever she was looking for: “There, Arlert.”
Eren perked up. Armin was trying not to make any noise. Her brow creased.
“Oi,” she said, tapping his chin again. Armin squeezed her hips out of reflex.
Eren reached around and cupped her breast; she hummed, arching forward and Armin wondered if this was too far, too private, but she rocked faster atop him, grabbing his idle hand to place it on her other breast, huffing: “you can touch me, Arlert,” and who was he to refuse?
Eren throbbed insistently against the small of his back; Armin was nearly there himself.
“Annie,” he hissed, “stop, I’m going to —”
She shuddered, raising her hips. “Pull out.”
He did so, and Eren, wrapping a hand around his dick, nuzzling his jaw, groaned, “‘rmin, let me help you —”
And Armin grunted, shunting his body back like they were wrestling. Eren’s mouth curled, capturing him in a feverish half-kiss, their skin wickedly hot like the aftermath of a Shift; he kept fumbling over Armin’s name between rough strokes, kissing harder, thumbing him; Armin, curling into his chest, felt his eyes roll back, knew he was going to scream, so close it almost hurt to be touched; knew that Eren wasn’t going to stop pushing this time until he snapped.
He tried to gasp, or call out but his voice was halting. Ended up coming in Eren’s fist and across his own stomach. When he recovered, Annie was still there, flushed and considering him through her bangs. She also had her hand between her knees, grunted something like: “Jaeger.”
“Armin?” Eren’s voice was thick at his ear, a little strained. He was still hard.
Armin moaned stupidly.
“Shh. That was good, you’re good — you rest for now,” Eren pecked him on the cheek, brief and brusque before he disentangled himself, crept over to Annie and teased, “oi, oi, we’re not done,” hefting her by the waist, he threw her left leg haphazardly over his shoulder and sank into her cunt without preamble.
Armin heard him grunt as she hissed, cursing — turning his head to catch the sight of them, tangled up in each other — Annie coiled her arms around Eren, snarling: “hurry up and fuck me, Jaeger” and they went at it for about half a minute, hard enough to make the headboard rattle, before she lost herself with a hoarse shout; Eren muffled a growl into her neck, pinning her to the mattress — he couldn’t keep the momentum going after he spent.
Annie caught his eye and blushed, like she hadn’t expected him to watch. “Sh-shit, Arlert.”
The uneasy feeling returned, more like envy or guilt — he really shouldn’t be here at all.
“Mm. Armin?” Eren, unravelling himself from her with a fleeting buss to her forehead. “How was that?”
Armin didn’t know if talking was even necessary.
“Arlert?” Now Annie was up, crawling over and gripping him by the shoulders. “Speak.”
He sighed through his nose. “You really need to work on your approach; you’re much too brusque for this.”
Annie stared blankly at him. Eren came over and kissed her jaw, making her suck in a breath. “Ease up with him, yeah?” he chided, thumbing circles into her hips.
“Shut up, Jaeger; he’s fine,” she huffed, pressing into the contact nonetheless.
“I’m right here, you know,” Armin groaned, and for the first time he felt left out in a way that didn’t leave him guilt-ridden.
Eren smirked. “C'mere, then.”
So Armin sat up and turned into his embrace; Eren kept him close, Annie did not reach for him so easily.
I don’t know if this was a mistake. I don’t know what I’m going to tell Mikasa, or if I’ll tell her anything. Maybe she’ll know. Maybe she already knew. I’m not going to think about this now.
“Armin,” said Annie quietly.
Armin hesitated. “Yes?”
“Do you think,” she began, “that you would come to regret this, to-morrow?”
Eren shivered. “No.”
“Not you,” she said, impatient, “I mean Arlert.”
What he said was: “I don’t want to lose either of you.”
Eren pulled them closer, while Annie offered him a tired smile that didn’t reach her eyes.
a/n: I still can't quite believe I wrote this, but I guess I've said that before and it's never stopped me! That said, it's likely going to be a one-time deal. Your feedback is highly appreciated, even if it's not always inherently positive or negative; I like making people think or feel something, even with fanfiction.

Doom
YEAR OF THE VILLAIN SPECIAL JULY 2019 BY SCOTT SNYDER, JAME STYNION IV, BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS, JIM CHEUNG, TOMEU MOREY, ALEX MALEEV AND FRANCIS MANAPUL
SYNOPSIS + REVIEW
The first story in this special is centered on the “sacrifice” of Lex Luthor after ruining his future completely and giving all his fortune to finance super-villains over the world.
The second story is kind of “the temptation of Barbara Gordon” as Leviathan tries to convince (and maybe does) Barbara to join his/her side in the new world.
The last story is about the Justice League, out in space, not being able to get to Earth on time to prevent whatever Luthor unchained. It all ends with Perpetua (the main villain) showing up in the Legion of Doom HQ and re birthing Luthor as a martian hybrid.
The Bendis fragment of this book made me think very deeply about the way he thinks his characters talk and behave. I think he would do better having a co-plotter and just concentrate in dialogues (in a way that works). This is not the first time I read his Batgirl and it’s just unrecognizable.
The other fragments are ok. It’s certainly a good start, but I am not gonna lie to you... you need to your homework before reading this book. I haven’t read Justice League for a while and this has everything to do with that book. It has everything to do with anything Snyder and Tynion worked in the past ten years. So this story can be traced to Justice League, Dark Knights: Metal, Batman: Endgame, etc.
You also need to stay up to date with anything Bendis (or at least Action Comics). This is one is asking the readers too much. I was planning on letting Bendis rest a while, until he closes some plots and I can actually read the books, but this kind of forces you to follow the Leviathan story (and that is not going to be confined to Action Comics only).
In fact, there are a lot of books to read now
Some of these haven’t even started yet! (there is also a Batman/Superman book).
One thing that I am not sure was Snyder idea, is the “proposal”, where all villains get an upgrade. It feels too much like Underworld Unleashed, so my first guess is that it was an editorial mandate. In any case, I understand that Underworld happened more than 20 years ago, so in my opinion, they are allowed to redo it.
Now, this is the second time in this decade that the villains are the main characters of the event (three if you count Metal). The heroes... kind of had Rebirth, I guess?
If you cannot understand Luthor’s motivation, you need to read Justice League. There is no other way around it. This book should have “justice league” in its name, because it’s an extension of that book.
The big idea is that events like these bring cohesiveness to the universe. An DC hasn’t been very consistent with their universes in the past since DiDio took over. If Leviathan is so important for Batman, why is he on Action Comics? Since when is Green Arrow one of the world’s greatest detectives?
I give this issue a score of 8. Recommended reading, if you are up to date with Justice League.

Imagine being amped on adrenaline after a fight with the heroes, as soon as you get back to the Legion of Doom HQ you grab Eobard, kiss him, climb in his lap and just take charge. He's almost always the dominant one between you, but he's really into you taking charge in this case.
This man has a subby side he’s not willing to admit. He’d love that! He’s gonna be the brattiest brat to ever have bratted.

The 10 Best Cartoon Bad Guys of All Time
10. Boris Badenov - The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show
Shaddup you mouth!Never in the history of cartoons has there been a character so happy to be evil than Boris Badenov. Along with his sidekick, the almost as evil (and somehow strangely sexy), Natasha Fatale, Boris did everything he could to make Moose & Squirrel's life a living hell. He obviously hated America & everything to do with it. But, he also hated his own country of Pottsylvania & did his best to avoid going there whenever possible. 9. Berg Katse - Gatchaman
The original sex change artistAlso known as Zoltar in "Battle of the Planets" & Galactor in "G-Force". Berg Katse is the leader of Galactor (that was the name of the organization in the original version), an evil alien race, determined to rule the Earth. What set Berg apart from the other alien bad guys, is he was a shape-shifting sex-changer. Yes, sometimes he was a man & sometimes he was a woman! The English versions explain this by saying it was two different people, Zoltar & his sister. Although, even as I kid, I figured out they were one & the same. Although I thought he was just a woman, dressed like a man. Little did I know what screwy heads the Japanese had with their characters. Considering Berg had to deal with the fact that sometimes he had a cock & sometimes not, I have to give him credit that he was able to do as well as he did running the whole show. 8. Cobra Commander - G.I. Joe
COBRA!Cobra Commander is leader of Cobra, a ruthless terrorist organization, determined to rule the world! Kind of like Galactor, but Earthbound. And Cobra's ideas to take over the world were so crazy, that aliens from another world were like, "That's some crazy shit, Cobra!" He always hid his face, either behind a hood, with eye holes, or a helmet with a mirrored front. Somehow, this mirrored face didn't reflect anything. It was Cobra Commander's voice that was the star of the show though. It was raspy & lispy & when he spoke, you listened. Cobra Commander was such a great character, that he even appeared in another cartoon, "The Transformers", which obviously took place years after Cobra was disbanded, as he was pretty much alone. As far as we know, Cobra Commander is still out there, biding his time. Mwahaha! COBRA! 7. General Grievous - Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Kick ass cyborg!Appearing in the 2nd "season" of the animated Star Wars tale, that takes place between Episodes 2 & 3, Grievous stood out as one mean mother fucker. He killed almost all the Jedi, BY HIMSELF! He stood taller than the Jedis & had 4 arms, which meant, 4 fucking light sabers! He was so cool, that George Lucas said, "He's cooler than any character I ever came up with. Let's put him in the next movie!" Of course, Lucas turned him into a smaller Cyborg with an exposed heart, which was easily shot by a blaster. But, for a small shining moment, in the animated series, Grievous kicked so much alien ass, that Galactor was looking to hire him. 6. The Legion of Doom - Superfriends
It's almost like they know the camera is in the room!Yes, I know this is a team of Super-villains, but they moved as one. Actually, they pretty much never moved as one. But, that didn't matter either. The LoD had a much cooler HQ than the Superfriends ever had. Their HQ would rise up out of a swamp. And inside, it was just a table that fit all members of the LoD. Their leader was Lex Luthor, the mastermind. They also had Bizarro, Black Manta, Riddler, Giganta, Sinestro, Cheetah, Solomon Grundy, the Scarecrow, Brainiac, Captain Cold, Gorilla Grodd, & the Toyman. Alone, these bad guys kind of sucked, but together....Watch out!!! Actually, they kind of sucked together too. But the name, the name!!! Legion of DOOOOOOM!!! 5. Dishonest John - Beany & Cecil
NYA HA HA!You know why Dishonest John deserves to be on this list? Because his name was Dishonest John & he was still able to con people (and sea serpents). He had the word "dishonest" sitting there for all to see. But it didn't matter! Nya Ha Ha!! 4. Megatron - The Transformers
Hey Starscream! Wax my ass!If you could put evil into a robot & then boost up the evil to 11, that was Megatron. He could give two shits about human life. He was all about getting energy & didn't care who or what was in his way. He even treated his own soldiers like shit. He also transformed into the stupidest form, a gun, that only worked if someone shot it for him. It didn't matter. They were all scared of him, the good, the bad, didn't matter. Megatron was Megacool! 3. Bluto - Popeye cartoons
This big mumbling fool was all muscle. It seemed Bluto was only there for one reason, to cock-block Popeye into nailing Olive. And it worked too, because Popeye & Olive never did it. Bluto didn't need any spinach to kick the shit out of Popeye either. He could walk through walls, bend steel bars with his teeth, & toss Popeye a block away. He shaved with a razor so nicked, that a normal man would have bled to death using it on his face. And when he shaved, he had a full beard. The only questionable thing was why was he such a prick to Popeye? Bah, no matter! Bluto is one mean sumamabitch! 2. Joker - Batman: The Animated Series
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!The Clown Prince of Crime! Never mind the Calypso Joker from the 60s, or even the smeary faced dude from the new Batman movie, the Joker from Batman: TAS has them all beat. He is truly maniacal & crazy. Just see him interact with his one true "love" Harley Quinn. He could care less about her, or does he? His plans are diabolical & over-the-top! He's scary, funny, & evil to the core. 1. Venger - Dungeons & Dragons
The Force of Evil!Talk about evil. This guy wants to kill kids! His father is Dungeon Master, the creator of the Realm of Dungeons & Dragons. Does Venger care? Fuck no! Dungeon Master protects the kids. Does Venger care? Fuck no! The only thing Venger is scared of is a 3 headed dragon, that is about 90 feet tall. It's the only thing that scares him! And I bet even that never made Venger shit his pants. All the kids wanted to do was get back home, but Venger said, "No way little fucks!" and ruined their chances time & time again. Fucking with kids is evil to the core & that's all Venger did. He is truly the champ of cartoon bad guys.
