Hey! How do you feel sepfember is going? I've enjoyed seeing all the lovely art and writings. Hope you're doing well!
luna!! hi!! thank you for the ask 💞
sepfember is going more brilliantly than i ever could have hoped. it's been absolutely wonderful seeing people coming together to create things! i've been trying my best to express my joy in the tags of my reblogs, but i'm not sure anything ever could! it's been truly wonderful. i have loved every minute of it so far - writing the prompt drabbles every day, and checking the tag for other people's work to reblog, and sniffing out beautiful art for the queue... a couple of times people have pinged me on the LU discord too, to show me sepfember art, and it entirely melted my heart. and i can't tell if it's coincidence but i'm seeing more sepfember-unrelated/untagged female focused art on my dash too!
in a franchise that caters a great deal to male gamers (and in my own linked universe bubble where all of our main characters are men), my only wish for this event was to balance the scales just a little - create a little bit of brainspace in our minds for the women. show more people who they are and what their names are and what they do! spare a moment to wonder about their goals and motives and characterisation. because they do exist! there are more women in this franchise than even i thought before this event! and i think they're worth celebrating, don't you?
#ahhh thank you again luna 🥰🥰🥰#sorry that was a bit of a ramble there#anyway the point is that when i joined this fandom the first 5 fic ideas i wrote down were all very obscure stories about the princesses'#lives and backstories and adventures. and i never actually wrote any of them because i realised that there wasn't any audience for stories#about side characters (and i was wanting to make friends more than anything). no one seemed to think about them very much#and i know i sound insane because like - its totally normal and reasonable that people want stories about the main characters and not#the damsel in distress whose personality is mostly cobbled together from bits of headcanons and conspiracy string because she was never#characterised in depth in her own game#- so you know. as much as i love the boys#i think there is a lot of untapped potential in the women characters. and i am more than willing to be a cheerleader for them#omg i am SO SORRY ABOUT THIS HUGE RANT JUST IGNORE ME#it sounds sort of salty but i dont mean it like that. i love you all and i love all the male characters too#i just. women. you know?#anyway#sepfember#social tag#legend of zelda

You know, the Zelda fandom is the only fandom I know that will get extra official content and find something to complain about it. Dearies, if it's in an official book, it's canon. LEARN TO APPRECIATE IT. I can't fathom why you all always want to find the negative in the series so bad. Do you even love or care about Zelda?! "It's not in the game 😩" yeah but it's in a book BY THE CREATORS. What more could you possibly want?!
You have the ability to draw and write fanfics. Do it. That's what extra content is there for. For you to take from it and enjoy it. To fantasize off of it
#the legend of zelda#i cant stand the majority of the fandom for a damn second. what happened to you all?#botw came out and everyone started acting so entitled. just ENJOY THE GAME SERIES GOD DAMN IT#okay rant done. i needed it off my chest#oh zelda fandom. oh zelda fandom#scamperin shroom spouts nonsense#this is like the equivalent of people complaining that the content of the book of bill wasn't in gravity falls. its so fucking frustrating#no one in the zelda fandom has any reading comprehension whatsoever which is shocking when the games all have text in it!#im sorry to any fandom that has to hear zelda fans complain. we have NOTHING to complain about 💀#with the book of bill i mean people having a riot of alex not putting Bill's backstory in the show when we understand why it wasn't#you can only fit so much into a game#im glad the zelda team even cared to show us more of rauru and sonia in a concept book

Heres some art of Hylia and the first Link! So sorry if this is hard to see! I wanted to experiment with my led lights to add some spice to my art since I don't color them often because I do them during school when I don't have my coloring stuff. So here's a version without the red lighting!
I drew this in September, but I thought I'd post it to show it off. It's one of my favorite drawings. And I probably didn't do very well avoiding glare because of the sheer amount of graphite this drawing used. Also, yes... bro is kinda dead. It isn't too graphic, hopefully, and I've been told he does not look dead. But I apologize if it's still triggering.
If you just wanted to see art, you can continue scrolling. If you want rants about my opinion and headcanons for Hylink, keep reading! And remember, this is just my opinion and personal headcanons. You're allowed to have your own. Let me have mine.
What I personally believe is that Hylia and the first Link weren't close during pre-skyward sword. He did have the vision about Demise and warned Hylia about his imminent appearance. But otherwise, Link and her never interacted. Link lived with Orville, (guy who gave Link the sword in the manga), his partner. He wasn't really a hero. He was just another knight in his own opinion. Except he had an unbreakable spirit, one capable of harnessing the hero's spirit.
Which Hylia noticed. After seeing him lose his life defending her land, she knew that he was the perfect person to help carry out her great plan to defeat Demise.
And then, after the two of them had been reborn as children on Skyloft thousands of years after that war, they grew close. Attached at the hip, even. It was unplanned, but it happened anyway. Just like a lot of Skyward Sword... honestly, when you really think about it, Hylia's plan went to shit. Link had to kill Demise twice. Like... that plan wasn't very secure, but I can't really blame her since she was likely on her death bed when making it. Which is very impressive, because I can't decide what to eat most of the time on my normal bed with all the time in the world.
Anyway, that's my little rant. It's nice to let the thoughts that have been living in my brain out into the world. Guess they're leaving the nest. Thank you for reading!

In Princess Zelda’s defense: Misogyny in the Legend of Zelda (and every fandom really)
(Spoiler Warning for BOTW and TOTK)
One thing I’ve noticed as Tears Of the Kingdom has come out, is this incredibly shameless irritable misogyny in the Legend of Zelda fandom. With fandom and internet culture really boosting in the last decade, I feel as if people are less fearful of what they say, and I’ve noticed it in the fandoms I love, like Legend of Zelda specifically.
What could I possibly mean? Doesn’t everybody love Zelda? You’d be incredibly surprised what people say about her.
I can’t image why. She’s incredibly kind, smart, interesting and an emotionally complicated character, which I personally find endearing and not at all bland. However, I think I’ve finally come to understand *why* she’s so hated in the fandom as of this last couple weeks. I think I finally get it.
Zelda is a complex character. I know this doesn’t fit with some of the fandoms fantasy of her being “boring”, but I challenge that with a question. Why is it that every female character, regardless of personality, backstory and upbringing, actions and speech patterns are all boring to you? Is it because they’re actually boring? Or is it because female characters, no matter how developed, will always take the back seat to male characters even with less complexities?
I think I would be remiss if I didn’t mention shipping culture playing a huge part. It’s unfortunate, because, as a gay person, I do think that a lot of the fujoshi/bl community is misogynistic and hates admitting that: so they turn towards the only thing they can- picking and choosing small scenes and lines out of context to demonize a perfectly fine character.
Let me remind you all that I don’t care about harmless shipping. Mostly everyone in fandom ships characters. It’s normal and as long as you aren’t being weird about it and everything is morally correct: who cares. However, I do think that shipping culture has made is hard for people in fandom to correctly distinguish media in any other way. And that’s unfortunate. But I’ll come back to my shipping point later.
Zelda, for instance, is not fond of Link in the beginning of the TOTK/BOTW/Age of Calamity timeline. That’s very apparent from the very first memory in order from Breath of the Wild. In context, that all makes sense why and it’s explained very well. She very quickly after takes a liking to Link, and the rest is history.
However, you have people saying that she’s awful, hates Link, treats him badly, etc. She’s being treated like she’s helpless, something that, in game, she despises feeling. If you can’t tell from context, many times it’s said out loud and in your face. Take this memory with Urbosa for example:
She feels like a failure and Link being appointed to her just reminds her of that feeling.
Despite feeling this way, she’s proven to be a character that can grow and develop. She takes a liking to Link, as previously mentioned before, shortly after said scene with Urbosa explaining to link why she is the way she is. After her heart crushing memory where she’s sobbing about how she couldn’t save her father, the champions or Hyrule, Link is in danger. He is close to death and still he refuses to give up. At the very moment he is going to die. Zelda *finally* is able to release her power, after many many years, and in turn, his life. Why? Because she loves him.
Mipha hints at this being the way she can release her power. Though she doesn’t outright say it, it’s incredibly obvious she’s trying to get across that Zelda think about love and who she cares for.
I feel like if a man had that same backstory, people would acknowledge how incredibly complex of a character he was. They never do this with female characters, and instead take their emotions at face value, like how Zelda has multiple scenes where her determinations, wants and hopes are explained with heavy emotion and people throw it all away for some screwed up, incorrect perception of a character who is more multifaceted then they can ever comprehend.
And why do I think people refuse to look at the truth when it comes to Zelda? Yep, I’m going back to shipping. Like I mentioned before, specifically the fujoshi shipping community seems to be incredibly misogynistic as a whole. And if you self identify as a fujoshi, please stop. It’s not a good term or a nice term. Obviously this isn’t about people who enjoy gay ships in general as I don’t see any harm in shipping whatever you want as long as it’s not morally wrong. However, as someone who has been heavily engrained in fandom culture for the majority of my life: women are second rate citizens to the vast majority of these people.
With the appearance of Sidon in BOTW came a brand new ship that, though I think it’s a very very weird ship considering that Sidon looks like this when Link first meets him:
I never had anything much to say about it. I didn’t ship it, but to each their own since Sidon is very much an adult in current day BOTW/TOTK.
However, the birth is Sidon as a character has incredibly turned the tide when it comes to how people view Zelda. Every bit of character growth and backstory has been dismantled because they see her as a “home-wrecker” to this very much headcanoned ship. I genuinely think people who do this have very little ability to understand female characters in any piece of media, but Zelda is a great example of this. Now that TOTK has come out and Sidon (reminder from the beginning of this post, that I said there would be spoilers) canonically has a Fiance, I feel like this misunderstanding of female characters has just completely gone off the rails and people are now just saying things completely untrue.
For one: I don’t think arranged marriages are ever the best way to try to convince an audience that two characters are in love, and I give that to the shipping community completely. Arranged marriages are not good 9/10 times. Though, sometimes they work out, it’s often for political reasons, and almost never are these two people in love. It’s not a good trope. *However*
Sidons case is different. Yona, a brand new character in the series, is his fiancé. She’s, in my opinion, is quite pretty and helpful to the Zora community, as she seems to be their main healer in the domain.
A lot of the fandom is taking the fact that he saw her as a sister when he was a CHILD out of context as he quite literally says in the next paragraph that his feelings for her start to change and become “difficult to quantify” which clearly, in this case, means that those feelings are changing. And then, he seems to get to embarrassed to go further as those are for more private thoughts. Not only that, but Sidon very clearly calls her his love multiple times, even when she isn’t around.
And how does this character, the kind and caring Yona get treated?
Badly. Just from the first month of this game being out I’ve heard that she should die, she’s a dumb bitch, she’s ugly, she’s boring (how creative), etc.
I can’t help but notice that these comments are clearly coming from a place of distain that Sidon isn’t a free man, and believe it or not hating a female character because she gets in the way of your ships is misogynistic whether or not you think it is!
Now that Sidon isn’t free for grabs, I feel like that brings considerably more backlash upon Zelda yet again because she’s just not a character that can be ignored in favor of Sidon anymore. I’ve noticed an incredible increase of this hate that just doesn’t make any sense to me.
Hating female characters just because they get in the way of your ships will never be cool, but will always unfortunately be a part of fandom that I will refuse to get behind. It’s not just The Legend of Zelda fandom. I can name multiple female characters who get hate for the same exact thing.
This may have just been a rant that went on too long, maybe a mini essay, I’m not sure, but I genuinely challenge the Zelda community to interact more with the actual game over who belongs with who and stop picking at straws to find faults in characters that ruin your perfect perception of who you want to be with who. And please, judge the female characters the same way you’d judge the male characters.
-Cherri 🍒

Hey peg, got a non tri force heroes related ask (woah!, shocking!, unprecedented!) whats your opinion on my favorite lil guys; ravio, yuga, and hilda. since ALBW is also my second favorite zelda game. which weirdly enough is also the ONLY other zelda game I've played (to competition) weird how that works ya know? also, hows the youse? I'm pretty good rn, on my mid winter break so I'm feelin nice and practically useless.
Oooooogggghhhh albw makes me feel so many things it's one of my favorite zelda games even though I rarely talk about it (I also haven't played it in a hot minute so if I get details wrong here that's why and I'm not proofreading so hehe this might be a disaster)
(also spoiler warning if anyone hasn't played albw)
I LOVE Ravio. So much. He's goofy and silly and a has a little pet bird and has a rabbit hood and dances when he makes money but also he's more or less a refugee trying to save his doomed home in the only way he can think of. He's a buisness man and his prices are ridiculous but he has concern for Link as well, and is actually his counterpart and their dynamic and everything makes me crazy. Also he's a coward and I relate to that so much. I feel like a coward so often, and I know a lot of people feel inspired by Link's brand of courage but honestly Ravio's is just as important to me if not more. Cause yeah he's a coward. But he has enough courage to leave his home (go to another WORLD) to find somebody who isn't cowardly and who can help fix things and stop Hilda from making a huge mistake. And it pays off. Ravio is a hero in my eyes and I love him.
Yuga I don't have a huge opinion about, but he's an interesting villain. I do like how he merged himself with Ganon, that was a gutsy move I did NOT expect the first time. Plus his whole thing about being obsessed with beauty and paintings and things, it's creepy and stuff, but makes him stick out more in my mind then some other villains. Other then that I don't have a lot to say about him lol, but his whole thing with manipulating Hilda and stuff was interesting too. I'd love to see more of his and Ravio and Hilda's background/story. also his weapon is neat.
Hilda is great <3 Her turning out to be the bad guy was REALLY unexpected (like I maybe suspected her a bit but I was so busy with her encouragment and saving the world and everything I wrote it off), and her motivations were SO interesting. She's making horrible manipulative decisions, but she's trying to save her people, her home. It's the only option that's really left to her and she's desperate to do something to help them, but Ravio helps her see that destroying another world isn't the way. And like, she just seems so scared to me. She's trying to pull together a kingdom that's literally falling apart, Yuga is whispering poison in her ear, but she's so determined to save her people, at any cost. She's an awesome character, and her face at the ending after Link and Zelda restore Lorule's triforce just about makes me cry. That's the face of somebody who lost her hope and thought she deserved nothing, and got everything. She can't believe it. I love albw.
...Also you asked how I'm doing, the answer is not bad! Swimming in too many AUs at the moment, but it happens. Trying to get reasonable amounts of sleep and failing recently lol. I've just been really tired and it's very annoying. But aside from that, pretty good.
#holy crap this got long sorry aboutt hat#apparently i had a lot to say#answers from the floor#lovely guy made of bees#a link between worlds#ravio#princess hilda#yuga#legend of zelda#also I don't like what the fandom has generally done to Ravio but that's a rant for another day

This generation can't consume media.
I say this as a part of this very generation. To me, media and specifically fiction, is all about the imagination and fantasy that comes with it, I see so many folks nowadays calling the most minor things "toxic" or even dangerous sometimes.
I will use shipping communities and villains as prime examples; I'm sorry but liking a non-canon pair that aren't super nice to eachother or being a fan of a villain doesn't make me or others DANGEROUS people in the community. It's genuinely such a childish mindset, I couldn't care less about disliking stuff but underlining people for such petty reasons is pathetic.
I've seen people get called terrible names and get accused of real life crimes because they like a villain. I don't care what the villain did, if it's not real, it doesn't define what these actual people think and believe.
I personally don't like Hisoka from HxH, he makes me uncomfortable but does that mean his fans are terrible people? No, it doesn't because he isn't a real figure that they support. And I can say this about so many other characters.
Shows, books, comics, games and any form of fiction is straight up boring if we're always supposed to like the good and morally correct characters or dynamics.
It's so frustrating to enjoy things nowadays when everyone is holding up a knife to your throat because you happen to like a morally wrong- or sometimes just morally ambiguous- character. Let people enjoy things. If somethings not for you, stay away from it, instead of feeding into it with the most childish argument to exist.

Let’s Talk about Toxic Fandoms.
Okay. I got tumblr to enjoy all my fandoms- but certain fandoms are so toxic and hateful.
Don’t scroll away if ur not in the fandom but I’m going to use the Zelda Fandom as an example
Apparently liking taylor swift means that I’m obviously a child with no critical thinking skills. Calling them out on their racist bullshit makes me ‘attacking them’ and having no idea what I’m talking about. Having Harry Potter in my bio is ‘bad enough’.
I won’t get into specifics but when I was in a bad spot mentally- like REALLY bad spot mentally, Fandom saved my life. Harry Potter, Marvel and Maze Runner are some of the only reasons I am still alive today, Zelda is one of the reasons I’m still alive today.
If your hating on someone for liking certain fandoms, your just as bad as those high schoolers that most likely called you weird for being into Zelda or whatever fandom you were in at the time.
I wasn’t hating on the fact that you think that video game adaptations will be hard, I was talking about how you have decided from the announcement of devolpment your first thought was “nobody wants this.” And that’s not true, Lots of people want this. (Also the fact your talking about me in public replies as if I can’t see those, and I dint get notifications when you do that, instead of at least having the decency to do it in DMs or smt.)
Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if I had avoided Ao3 and Tumblr fandom and just stuck to other socials.
This Gatkeeping culture of ‘of you like fandom x you can’t like fandom y because fandom x is basic and we don’t want you here!
What is all this Toxicity in fandom culture. Why is Harry Potter and Marvel being used as slurs now days. Why is me enjoying my fandoms on my page basic? Why after I called someone out for their bullshit and hating on LITTERALLY NOTHING. All we got was the director, writer and producer. No cast, no script, no plot, no trailer, nothing.
If the second something new for the fandom is announced and your first thought is ‘No their going to ruin everything!’ Are you a fan of the actual canon or just the made up AU Fanon you’ve decided is more important than the actual canon?
Sorry if this is an unorganised mess but it needs to be talked about!
TL;DR:
Fandom Toxicity and Gatekeeping needs to stop.

Legend has a fear of Knights, especially when he's small.
(non-ao3 version under the cut)
Tiny Bunny vs. The Hylian Knight-Mares --- Legend panics from being trapped with Warriors' Knights of Hyrule and ends up regressing. all that only to face his other fear with knights...
Warriors finding out he's a little.
---
“Oh so most of you are knights?” Gideon asked the group, one of Warriors’ friends from the war of his namesake.
The chain had been plopped into Wars’ Hyrule, which wasn’t really amazing in Legend’s own opinion, but he could grin and bear it until they got the hell out of here.
Hylia, he hated knights.
Legend stood awkwardly behind Sky, uneasy in the barracks of the Knights of Castle Hyrule, uncomfortably aware of the strange and all too familiar feeling creeping up inside him.
“Yeah, sort of!” Sky cheered, “I’m a Knight of Skyloft- er- my hometown, though I’ve since retired.” He mentioned.
Gideon laughed, “Yeah, I can tell!” he said jokingly, patting his own flat stomach in reference to Sky’s own chubbier physique.
Legend shook his head as he fought off the feelings of betrayal that the mind of the little pink bunny he was quickly slipping into becoming was starting to feel.
What did they mean Sky was a knight? Sky was good! He was sweet and kind and only hurt things when he really needed to.
Legend’s lip wobbled as he blinked back tears, suddenly feeling the daggers of judgement fall upon him as his heart rate picked up.
Knights laughed around him, the clink of swords sparring and the lighthearted teasing of the Captain clouded his mind, everything was getting too much. The stone walls were closing in on him as the glint of weapons felt like they were pointing at his throat. His overactive imagination showed him pictures of the Master Sword in Sky’s hands, inches away from slashing his throat out.
His head was going 90 miles a minute, he needed to leave.
“Legde? You good?” Warriors barked.
He needed to leave RIGHT NOW.
Legend felt like his tongue was made of lead, muttering a “’scuse me,” as he pushed through the crowds.
Yelps from knights sounded out as he picked up the pace at the protests from Wars calling his name.
Legend just wanted out.
He wanted to be snuggled up with Sky under a tree while the Skyloftian told him a story, or colouring a pretty picture.
Legend whimpered as he pushed through the heavy wooden doors, could he even trust Sky anymore?
Sky was a knight. Knights were bad. That meant Sky was bad.
Legend leaned himself up against a tree, digging his fingers into the soft bark as he tried to push back the fuzziness in his head.
Legend choked out a sob.
Momma Sky was bad?
“Dude!” Warriors trudged towards the spiralling Link, visibly upset. “What the fuck was that?” he exclaimed.
Warriors towered over him, Legend struggled not to shrink back. Big. Big. Big. He needed to be big. He was a big boy, not a small little bunny. He could handle this.
“’M sowry,” He whimpered, painfully aware that any hopes of pushing away Little Bunny were futile.
Shit
Shit
Shit.
No, not here, not now. Little Bunny couldn’t be happening now, with him of all people.
Legend felt his nose twitch, ears pinning against his head and feeling his brain soften into syrupy, cottony, scared, nothingness.
Warriors was watching him in rage as Legend crumbled before him.
The tiny bunny cowered, pulling his hands up to hide his face, waiting for the first blow from the infuriated Hylian knight before him.
“I’m sorwyyy!!” Legend wailed, sinking to the floor as Little Bunny’s legs turned to jelly.
Wars took a step back, now less angry and more just… confused. So confused.
“The fuck is wrong with you?” Wars questioned, not used to a sobbing blob of Legend whimpering on the ground at his feet.
Legend continued to whimper, cowering in front of the captain.
Warriors jolted forward when the chubbiest of the links ran into him. Sky was panting, out of breath, and worried as he examined Legend’s horrified figure as he caught his breath and steadied himself.
“Oh no…” Sky muttered, steeling himself as Warriors whipped around to face Sky.
“What’s wrong with him??” Warriors asked, genuinely worried now.
Sky was sweating bullets, glancing from his little terrified bunny back up to the concerned captain, thoughts running a mile a minute but consisting of nothing helpful.
“He’s fine but you need to leave.” Sky choked out, understanding how much that was not going to happen, but trying anyways.
“No, he’s being insubordinate and now he’s acting weirder than normal. What’s going on with the Vet?” Warriors pressed on.
Sky ran his hands over his face, groaning. “Ledge is gonna hate me for this…” he mumbled.
Sky knelt down, completely ignoring the myriad of questions thrown at him by Warriors.
“Hey Little Bunny, those big men scared us, didn’t they?” Sky asked in a gentle voice, reaching out.
“Knights!!” Little bunny startled, dashing behind the tree. “don’ touch me!!” he squealed.
“What?” was all was needed from Warriors for Little Legend to start whimpering again. “Legend, what has gotten into you? I’m done with your games.” He grumbled, leaping to try to grab at the crying link.
Legend screamed, using whatever poor motor controls remained with him and scurried off, only being able to stumble so far before ducking behind some crates in front of a large stone wall.
Warriors stomped off to pursue him, immediately being intercepted by Sky.
“Look, I know he’s acting.. er… “strange” but you’ve gotta trust me and just leave me to take care of him.” Sky pleaded.
“I can’t do that and you know that. Whether he’s just messing with us or he’s sick or something I need to know.” Warriors demanded.
Sky sighed.
“Okay fine. But just- don’t scare him again, okay?” Sky pleaded.
Warriors grunted.
“It will be explained in due time, you just need to trust me on this one.”
Now it was War’s turn to sigh, throwing up his hands in defeat and following Sky to where legend was camped out.
Sky knelt down.
“Hi there Link!” he whispered, trying to pitch up his tone to be far happier than the stress flowing through his veins right now.
Warriors was the last person Legend wanted to find out about his regression.
Sky was praying to Hylia he could salvage this from going terribly.
“We’re kinda scared, aren’t we?” Sky whispered, “We don’t have to be scared, nobody’s gonna hurt you!” he insisted.
Legend made no move to leave from here he was cowering behind empty crates. Sky sighed.
Legend cowered behind the crates, screaming at any hand that came to fish him out.
“This is just like that day at the inn,” Warriors mumbled, pulling back after having his hand swatted at one too many times.
Sky sighed, making eye contact with the terrified Link. “I have to tell him, little bunny, you know that.” he said quietly. Legend just continued to cry.
Sky took a deep breath, getting Warriors’ attention.
“You need to keep this a secret, because I’m pretty sure Legend deemed you as ‘the last person he would ever want to know’ but…” Sky trailed off, watching Warriors’ face contort in thought.
“Legend’s a regressor. It means his mind can revert back to that of a child when he gets stressed or upset.” Sky explained. “Somehow, from my understanding, it’s never happened in a seriously dangerous situation. This is kinda the worst time it’s happened.”
Warriors stayed silent, processing.
“So, he’s safe?” Warriors asked.
Sky smiled, “As long as we can keep him safe.”
Warriors stood tall, glancing at Legend before steeling himself again and turning his attention to Sky.
“How can I help?”
Sky grinned.
“Captain?”
“Yeh?”
“Go get wolfie.”
“What?” Warriors questioned.
“Just,” Sky interrupted him, holding up his hands placating, “just go get twilight, tell him that Bunny needs wolfie.”
Warriors was quick to obey that time, rushing off back to the castle.
Sky took a deep breath, crouching down to where Legend was peering at him from behind crates. “You’re gonna be okay, Little Bunny, your fluffy friend is on the way.”
A grey blur bounded onto the scene, nearly knocking Sky over as Wolfie rushed over to Legend.
Legend seemed apprehensive at first, but it was no time flat before Wolfie licked the tear tracks off of Tiny Bunny’s face.
“Huh, that worked…” Warriors mumbled, watching Legend giggle and try to push Wolfie away as the wolf had cemented his desire to lick every square centimetre of the frightened boy’s face.
Sky smiled, trying to ignore how his joints creaked as he stood up. “Usually it does.”
“Usually?” Warriors questioned, “like, this happens regularly?”
“Well, it’s been a couple times so far. Mostly during downtime.” Sky explained. “It’s nothing to be worried about, captain.”
Sky startled just a bit when an unfamiliar tug at the leg of his trousers.
Legend was sitting on the ground, one arm around Wolfie and the other arm connected to the knee of Sky’s pants. “Birdie!” Legend whispers.
“Hi bunny!!” Sky says quietly, keeping his voice light and happy. Legend tugs at Sky’s pants again. “Up.”
Wars just stares.
“D’you want me to hold you?” Sky asked, smiling warmly at Legend nodding.
Legend pulls at Sky’s sailcloth once he’s in his arms, rubbing the soft fabric against his cheek. “You alright bunny?” Sky asks.
“Kights’re meanies. An-an dey r bad.” Legend mumbled.
Warriors smiled, putting a hand on the shoulder not occupied by Legend’s head.
“Even me?” he asked with a smile.
Legend jerked back, the tiny bunny pulling Sky’s sailcloth over his face to hide.
Sky frowned, tugging gently at his sailcloth to peel back the fabric from the tiny bunny. “You’re okay little kit, it’s just the captain, he won’t hurt you.”
Warriors smiled warmly, holding up his hands soothingly. “I’m a friend, you’re okay. My knights aren’t going to hurt you,” he soothed.
Legend allowed his shelter to be pried from him.
“Pr’mise?” the tiny bunny asked, eyes widening pleadingly.
Warriors smiled, reaching out to fluff Legend’s hair. “I promise, Vet.”
Sky shifted Legend in his arms, “C’mon, let’s get back to the barracks, we should make sure they know that we’re not dead.”
Warriors stopped Sky in his tracks. “Wait, don’t we have to hide him or something?”
Sky shrugged, “It smelled awful in there, we’ll just say Ledge, Twi, and myself are getting some air outside. Simple as that!!” he mentioned.
And that is what they did. Sky, Legend, and Wolfie hung out in the sun, under a tree. Sky told stories of his time as a Knight of Skyloft. Stories of his friends and loved ones. And if their little Legend fell asleep drooling on Wolfie’s coat? Twilight said nothing.

SPOILERS FOR TOTK DRAGON TEAR MEMORIES
One of my biggest problems with totk is the story, like from what i understand and believe, the dragon tear memories take place after the advents of the word of god timeline, where old hyrule (the hyrule from the old games and the one from in the great sea in wind waker) is unfooded after hylia knows how long and civilisation starts again with the Zonai descending to help the hylians who came back from the new hyrule (spirit tracks hyrule) and Rauru officially refounds hyrule with Sonia.
I don’t like the sages, like i get wanting to revamp the old ones from ocarina, but the only sages i have beef with are mineru and the lightening sage, like it was perfectly fine before, allow the gerudo to keep being the sage of spirit and make mineru be the sage of shadow, i think it would make more sense anyway as mineru is tech based, eg her constructs, and she is the one to make the purah pad teleportation functionality work in that time, so it would make sense as the shikiah of botw are very tech heavy.
Another point on the shikiah tech is that it is gone, left, evaporated, apart from the purah pad (which I don’t necessarily count as it is new), one guardian on the top of the hateno tech lab, and the telescope in the akala tech lab. I get our lore “explication” for it was they all just disappeared after the calamity, but that doesn’t hold up because of the former. I also hate how its all about the zonai, i get that they were heavily speculated upon in botw, but that was mostly because of their ambiguity, now you can’t go 5 seconds without seeing anything zonai related, and the shikiah have been pushed aside to some fetch quest for the 5th sage that you really don’t have to do, and after that nothing, (i know there are a few quests there, but its not to the extent that botw had.
I don’t like Zelda in this game either, she seems so out of character in the DTM (don’t get me wrong she is perfect in the intro) but like she has the triforce but fails to mention it to rauru or Sonia (at least that’s what i am led to believe) as yes your “power has dwindled overt the past 100 years” but common girlie that secret stone amplifies ur power what was stopping you from blasting ganondorf into the next cycle?? But instead she was like “queen Sonia no 😔” and just watched rauru try and do something, and then she made them piss off like YOU HAVE THE TRIFORCE, THE POWER OF THE GOLDEN GODDESSES THEMSELVES, USE IT.
That’s another thing, don’t mention that Sonia and rauru are blood connected to Zelda and then kill them off without a child in sight??? How does that work
It’s so very annoying and I could actually rant for hours about it, and this is only scratching the surface of my problems with the story, the gameplay and another rant of its own
Also don’t get me wrong I will defend this game with my life, I just have massive problems with it

writers in the legend of Zelda fandom and in all the aus have my respect and heart. (That they’ve either made warm or shattered to pieces) but that’s what makes them such good writers. I cannot put into words how much i appreciate every writer in the fandom, you are all so amazing at what you do, and single handedly write things that could make someone feel such big emotions it’s crazy. I’ve cried reading fanfics, I’ve gotten excited reading fanfics, and I’ve gotten angry reading fanfics (/pos)
this sounds so corny but every writer i love you so much and your doing great!!!!!!
#Literally giggling and kicking my feet#I’m just so happy fic writers exist like holy moly#Love yall#Onyx rants⭐️#Legend of zelda#linked universe#bonus links#Trying to tag the stuff where I’ve read amazing fics#Loz#lu#bonuslinks#Live laugh love fandom writers

so i’m gonna make a zelda post (revolving around totk/skyward sword) because i’ve been super into totk lately, & have noticed some cool parallels between these games.
there will be spoilers, so please don’t read past the picture/heading if you don’t want to be spoiled.
strange parallels: zelda totk/ss
the sacrifices of princess zelda
throughout the tlz series, we’ve known princess zelda and all of her incarnates to be extremely self-sacrificial. in twilight princess, she gives her own essence to midna in order to rescue her from zane’s nearly fatal attack. in wind waker, she gives up her life as a pirate to hide within the walls of the sunken hyrule castle to prevent ganondorf from finding the triforce of wisdom.
in both tears of the kingdom and skyward sword, however, zelda makes a strangely similar sacrifice.
the games are already quite similar because of the themes of time travel and being in an ancient sky kingdom. the sacrifices they make are equally similar: in skyward sword, zelda seals herself within a crystallized form inside of the temple of time for many years to prevent demise from reaching her power. in tears of the kingdom, zelda swallows her sacred stone, turning her into a dragon for hundreds — maybe thousands — of years, protecting the master sword until it can be reunited with link to defeat ganondorf.
both of these instances are equally tragic, and revolve around time travel; at least from the player/link’s perspective. when both zeldas make their sacrifices, link travels through time, as if no time has passed at all. on zelda’s part, though, so many years have passed, trapped in the form of immortality in order to save the kingdom years in the future.
i think that the self-sacrifices made by princess zelda are so noble and defining throughout the series. we as the fans and players are able to see what makes zelda a true princess; she’s not just some side character who reigns over the kingdom. she is a noble leader who will give her entire soul and being to protect her loved ones and her kingdom, which is what a ruler should be.
anyway, that’s my mini essay on the similarities of ss/totk’s zeldas. in my opinion, these two incarnates of zelda are my personal favorites and likely the most noble, though that is a difficult claim, as most every zelda throughout the series has done her fair amount of noble deeds.

So, I made some designs for my Link and Zelda in my original Legend of Zelda story. (Currently a nameless brainchild)
Their designs aren't fully final, but I do like them for now. If you're wondering, "Why the freak are they dressed like that?"
It's because it takes place in a more modern era 'cuz I thought that'd be kinda cool. Also, I may or may not have pushed my personal style onto them. I tried using a mixture of my fashion style and incorporating elements of previous Link and Zelda designs into them.
More details are below! (Med length)
(Link details!)
Like the white under shirt, and short sleeved collared gingham jacket Link is sporting. The under shirt takes inspo from Oot and Wind Waker Link.
The collar is a successor to the collared undershirts Link usually wears. They have a shoulder bag, which acts as a replacement to the usual sword sheath and sort of kills off the endless pockets. But... they still live on through the MANY pockets they wear on their baggy cargo pants!
Of course, the beanie is a successor to Link's lovely pointy silly guy elf hat. They also wear fingerless gloves. And how could I forget the earrings?
"Why black hair?"
...Too much blonde. Yes, some Links had their pink hair, their blue, green, white, red or green hair, and the og brown. But... black hair is so cool. Like c'mon. Their hair shape takes elements from my own, and also the Oot, SS, TP, and BotW Links. One time, I accidentally styled my hair exactly like theirs... whoopsies.
Now, onto Zelda!
Each Zelda is given a mostly unique look (except for the ones that are just Oot or WW Zelda copy pasted), carrying elements of her ancestors in her clothing. Her design is a little messy, I will admit. But... I like it... so... if you have a problem with it, that's your problem, not mine. A lot of it is sort of original, but I added little inspirations every aspect I could.
She wears a little blue, short sleeved cardigan over a lacy patterned white long sleeve shirt. Which takes aspects from both SS and BotW Zelda. Her sleeves are like SS Zelda's, and the cardigan is like BotW Zelda's design. Like how the sleeves kinda poof out. And...
Her necklace is kind of like a cross (I'm not Christian), taking the main part of Hylia's symbol. She wears it around her neck, of course, and it's kinda like the gold details on the neckline of BotW Zel's blue top. And her belt is blatant theft of SS Zelda's gold one. Might shamelessly just make it gold, too. Her earrings are kinda like the big ones. Oot Zelda wears, just... circle. Might give her more piercings because it fits her character, and would also take inspo from TP Zelda.
"Why hair orange?"
Good question! Some Zelda's have orangish hair, like Oot Zelda. And uh...
"GERUDO!?"
Yeah, she's a gerudo.
"How did that happen?"
Secret.
Hehehehehe... hehehe....hah...mwahahahahahahah AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-
Anyway, yeah. That's their designs!
Also pronouns.
Link (they/them) Zelda (she/her)
Thanks for reading, and please be respectful.
