♫ I Just Called To Say 'I Love You' ♫ (Redux)
I owe Clive a song … no, this is not it, and in fact Clive will not likely like this song. But, tonight I am sad and I am a bit depressed and Clive told me that I should play something that I like, presumably to cheer me. And so, I was going to play “Ebony and Ivory”, but I just played it back in May, so this is my choice for tonight. I hope it will bring a smile … Stevie Wonder wrote,…

⋆·˚ ༘ * GARRETT HEADCANONS 𐚁̸.ᐟ

𐙚 his soulmate is a bookworm
the moment he meets you, he knows.
it’s like the whole world stills, and suddenly, the nomadic life he’s lived for centuries feels dull in comparison to the warmth radiating from you.
you, with your cozy sweaters, your vintage dresses that hug your curves just right, and the scent of old books and spiced tea lingering around you.
garrett is fascinated by your world.
he’s been all over, seen wars, revolutions, and the rise and fall of empires, but nothing is as captivating as the little expressions you make when you’re deep in a story.
the furrow of your brow when something angsty happens, the soft smile when there’s a romantic moment—he drinks it all in like it’s the most fascinating thing in the world.
sometimes, he playfully nudges your book down with his finger just to see you huff at him before he grins and kisses your forehead.
he could spend eternity just sitting beside you, listening as you excitedly ramble about your latest read.
garrett likes tracing his fingers over your bookshelves.
he likes the feel of the worn spines, the way some books have little annotations in the margins, proof of how much you’ve loved them.
he always asks which ones are your favorites, and even though he’s not much of a reader himself, he remembers every single title you mention.
one night, you find him idly flipping through one of your books, his thumb running over your underlined passages, and when you ask what he’s doing, he just shrugs. “trying to see the world the way you do, sweetheart.”
he has zero concept of ‘not interrupting’ while you’re reading.
he tries, he really does, but then you shift on the couch, and your sweater slips off one shoulder, revealing the soft curve of your skin, and suddenly, he has to touch you.
“that book’s been getting more attention than me for the past two hours, sweetheart,” he murmurs, trailing cool fingers up your arm. “think i should be jealous?”
he becomes your personal heater.
you love the way he feels—cool against your skin, soothing when you’re wrapped up in a thick knit sweater.
he loves that you always gravitate toward him in the colder months, burying yourself against his chest with a cup of tea in hand.
garrett is an old-school romantic.
maybe it’s your style, the soft curls in your hair, the way your dresses cinch at the waist like something out of a ‘50s love story, but he finds himself slipping into that old-fashioned charm without even meaning to.
he holds doors, kisses your knuckles, and when he pulls you into a slow dance in the middle of your living room, it feels like something out of a classic film.
garrett spoils you in ways you don’t even realize.
you’ll casually mention a book you’ve been wanting, and the next day, it’s sitting on your bedside table.
he finds a dress in a style he knows you love and leaves it draped over the back of your reading chair.
he never makes a big deal out of it, just smirks when you thank him and says, “what can i say? i like seeing you happy.”
he builds your book collection.
you mention an out-of-print novel you’ve been searching everywhere for? consider it yours by the next time you see him.
he’s lived long enough to know where to find the rarest books, and he loves the way your eyes light up when he presents you with a new addition to your shelves.
your bay window nook becomes his favorite place.
he’s never been one to stay still for long, but he finds himself lingering in your cozy little reading corner more often than not.
sometimes, he pretends to read just so he has an excuse to stay close, watching the way your fingers trace the pages, the way your expression changes with every twist in the story.
he insists on carrying you to bed when you fall asleep in your book nook.
it’s become a routine at this point.
you curl up in the oversized chair by the bay window, reading until your eyes grow heavy.
the next thing you know, you’re waking up tucked beneath warm blankets with garrett beside you, his fingers lazily tracing patterns on your arm.
“you should really stop falling asleep in uncomfortable places, doll,” he teases, even though he secretly loves any excuse to hold you.
garrett is endlessly fascinated by your love of tea.
he likes watching you make it—likes the ritual of it, the way you hum softly while you carefully select a blend, measure out the leaves, and steep them to perfection.
the first time you make a cup just for him he’s oddly touched. “you really are something else, aren’t you?” he murmurs, pressing a lingering kiss to your temple.
and even though he can’t taste it, he loves when you let him hold the warm mug just so he can feel the heat in his hands.
he picks up on your favorites, the ones that help you sleep, the ones that comfort you after a long day.
he doesn’t need to drink it to appreciate the warmth it brings to your life.
you introduce him to the concept of cozy nights in.
for someone who’s spent most of his existence constantly on the move, the idea of just staying home, wrapped in soft blankets with you, is entirely foreign—but he loves it.
he’ll stretch out on the couch, letting you rest your head on his chest while you read aloud to him, your voice a soothing melody against the quiet crackle of the fireplace.
garrett gets jealous of fictional love interests.
he doesn’t realize it at first, but the more you gush about certain book characters, the more he feels the need to prove himself.
“oh, so this mr. darcy guy gets all the praise for being broody and romantic?” he pulls you into his lap with an easy smirk. “sweetheart, i’ve been broody for centuries. where’s my credit?”
he adores your vintage aesthetic.
he has a deep appreciation for your style—the way your 1950s-style dresses hug your curves just right, the delicate lace trims, the softness of your sweaters.
sometimes, when you’re bustling around the house, he catches himself just… watching.
taking in the way the fabric sways with your movement, how effortlessly beautiful you are. “damn, i’m so lucky” he murmurs to himself.
he worships every inch of you with kisses and whispered praises, never letting a single insecurity cross your mind.
he’s incredibly tactile with you.
he loves the softness of you, the way you fit against him so perfectly.
his hands are always on you—holding your waist, brushing your hair back, tracing the dip of your spine when you lean against him.
if you ever feel self-conscious, he shuts it down immediately. “sweetheart, do you have any idea how perfect you are?” he doesn’t just say it—he shows it, again and again, until there’s not a single doubt left in your mind.
garrett learns to slow down for you.
he’s always lived like the wind—fast, untamed, never lingering in one place for too long. but with you, he realizes that not all moments need to be fleeting.
there’s something profound in the stillness, in the quiet evenings spent wrapped in your arms, in the way you sip your tea and turn the pages of your book as if there’s all the time in the world.
your home, with its overflowing bookshelves and warm, inviting atmosphere, has become his sanctuary.
he still has that wanderer’s spirit, still loves adventure, but suddenly, he wants to share all of it with you.
he wants to take you to hidden bookshops in old european cities, dance with you under the northern lights, watch you experience the world with that same wonder you get when you open a brand-new book.
because for the first time in his long, long life, he’s found something worth staying for.
he might be a nomad at heart, but you?
you are the one place he never wants to leave.

Can I please request Garrett as a girl dad? 😭😭😭 Even as a vampire he'd be so gentle and loving! I'd love to see him with a human mate who happens to be a single mama.
First off, thank you so much for this request! :) I absolutely loved the idea of Garrett as a girl dad, and I had so much fun writing this. I decided to mix headcanons with full scenes to try and bring his relationship with Reader and Lily to life. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it! 💖
Garrett had wandered into the small town looking for nothing in particular. He never stayed in one place too long, but something about this town felt... different.
He first saw you at the grocery store, struggling with a tired, fussy toddler on your hip while trying to pay for the groceries. Lily, barely four years old, was squirming in your arms, clearly unhappy about something. Garrett wasn’t one to intervene in human affairs, but when he heard the cashier’s rude tone, something inside him bristled. “Look, lady, if you don’t have enough-” You sighed, clearly exhausted and completely done with the cashier, and reached for your wallet with one hand while the other tried to keep Lily still. “I do. I just need a second.” Something in Garrett made him want to help. In a blur too fast for human eyes to catch, he stepped beside you and placed a crisp bill on the counter. “This should cover it.” You turned to him startled and confused as Lily blinked up at him with wide, curious eyes. “Oh, no, you don’t have to!” “I insist,” Garrett said smoothly, flashing a charming smile. He turned to Lily and spoke in a gentle manner that surprised even him. “Besides, it looks like this little one deserves a treat after being so patient.” Lily studied him carefully, then, in a completely unexpected move, reached for his wild hair. “You look like a pirate!” Garrett chuckled. “Aye, that I do, lass.” You shook your head but smiled nonetheless. “Thank you. That was… kind of you.” Garrett tipped an imaginary hat. “Anytime.” And just like that, he was hooked.
You have been hesitant at first. A mysterious, handsome man appearing out of nowhere and taking an interest in you and your daughter? It sounded like the start of a fairy tale….or a horror story. But Garrett was patient. He didn’t push nor did he invade your space. He simply kept showing up wherever you guys went, always ready with a smile for Lily and a knowing look for you. One evening, he found you sitting on the porch, visibly exhausted, while Lily played in the yard. He took a seat as well and watched the little girl chase fireflies. “She likes you,” you admitted, almost begrudgingly. Garrett smirked. “What’s not to like?” You rolled your eyes at him. “She doesn’t warm up to people easily.” Garrett watched as Lily toddled over to him and held up a tiny hand. He extended his own, letting her place a glowing firefly in his palm. “Seems to me she’s got good instincts.” Lily beamed and gave him a toothy grin. “You can keep it!” Garrett smiled endearingly. "An honoured gift, princess." Your heart softened a little more.
Despite his wild, rebellious nature, Garrett is shockingly gentle with Lily. He makes sure to always speak softly to her, even when he’s passionate or frustrated about something else.
It starts as a joke, but Garrett becomes the designated client at Lily's hair salon. Lily loves his long hair and insists on playing with it, weaving it into messy braids and pigtails, and adorning it with colourful hair clips and flower crowns. At first, he pretended to hate it but it was really obvious that he loved it. He even begged you to teach him how to braid hair so he could do Lily’s hair as well.
(you are planning to buy Lily a kid's makeup set next, Garret would look really good with sparkly blue eyeshadow)
Garrett has fought in wars and challenged authority figures, but he will sit through an entire tea party wearing a ridiculous hat if it makes Lily happy. you secretly take pictures
He feels an overwhelming instinct to keep you safe. Whether it's shielding you from supernatural threats or simply ensuring Lily never crosses the street without holding his hand, he is hyper-aware of your safety.
Let's be real he has centuries of knowledge and firsthand historical experience, so bedtime stories with Garrett are next level. Lily gets to hear about the Revolutionary War in dramatic detail, but he always makes sure to tone it down to keep it child-friendly. Just you wait when she is old enough so he can help her with her History homework…
As a vampire, he doesn’t sleep, eat, or get tired, but he adjusts to human life. He learns how to cook even if he doesn’t eat the food. The food was inedible in his humble beginnings but with time he started getting better. He even started preparing Lily's lunch and is always trying to arrange it into some animal-looking thing with a little note. While cooking, Garrett wears a ‘kiss the cook’ apron only because you got it for him.....he huffs and puffs if you don't actually kiss him.
It happened on accident. Garrett had been in your lives for almost a year by now, seamlessly blending into your little world. Lily adored him, and you – well, you had stopped pretending you didn’t a long time ago. One night, Lily was half-asleep after the bedtime story when she reached for him instead of you. “Daddy,” she murmured, curling into his chest. Garrett froze. Time stopped. You were standing in the doorway, eyes wide and a hand over your mouth. Lily’s breathing evened out, already lost to sleep again, but Garrett felt something shift deep in his immortal cold heart. Later, when you met his gaze and whispered, “Are you okay?” he swallowed hard, his voice rough when he finally spoke. “I’ve never been better.” Garrett didn’t move for a long time. The sound of Lily’s sleepy voice echoing in his head felt like a shock to his system. Something shifted and clicked into place in a way he never knew was possible. Daddy. He had lived through centuries, fought wars, and roamed aimlessly through life without a single attachment. And yet here he was, with a tiny human trusting him enough to give him a title that carried more weight than anything he had ever known. He glanced up at you. You were still watching him with an unreadable expression, but your eyes were soft. Softer than he had ever seen them. Slowly, you stepped forward, kneeling beside the couch where he sat. “She already thinks of you that way,” you whispered. “I think… I think she has for a while.” Garrett carefully adjusted Lily in his arms, his fingers brushing through her soft curls. “And you?” You sucked in a breath but didn't look away. "You know how I feel." He did. He had known for weeks, maybe even months, but hearing it aloud, seeing it in your eyes – it was completely different. Garrett reached for your hand, his cool fingers tracing over your knuckles. “I’ve never had anything like this,” he admitted. “Not in all my years.” You finally gave him a small smile. “And?” He exhaled, brushing a kiss against Lily’s forehead. “And I never want to lose it.” You leaned in, resting your forehead against his shoulder. “You won’t.” For the first time in his existence, Garrett believed it.
Garrett never expected to find a home, much less a family. But in you and Lily, he found both. And for the first time in centuries, he wasn’t just a wanderer anymore. He was only yours.

I hope you don't mind if I put in another request(your writing is truly AMAZING!)!
May I request Garrett finding his mate after a natural disaster, she's injured badly enough she needs to be changed and afterwards she has the ability to control whatever element caused the natural disaster(ex. volcano/wildfire=fire, tornado=air, tsunami/flood=water, earthqake=earth). She'd still be a little hesitant at using her abilities after having experienced first hand what damage they can cause.
Apologies for the wait, and thank you for another incredibly fun request! I’m so happy you liked the other one, and I hope this one lives up to your expectations as well. ❤️ Enjoy!
The pungent scent of smoke clung to the wind. It was thick and suffocating. Embers still smouldered in the wreckage below, casting an eerie red glow against the night. Garrett stood at the edge of the devastation, surveying the ruin with narrowed eyes. The wildfire had raged mercilessly, reducing entire homes to charred skeletons and trees to blackened husks. The air was saturated with death. And yet, beneath that overwhelming scent of destruction, something else called to him. Something alive. A heartbeat—faint and struggling. Garrett answered the call and jumped into motion, weaving through the wreckage with practised ease. He followed the sound, the undeniable pull deep in his chest urging him forward. Then he saw her. She lay trapped beneath a collapsed beam, her body broken, blood soaking into the scorched earth. Her breathing was shallow, each exhale rattling with pain. Burns marred her skin, her clothes torn and singed. But none of that mattered. She was clinging to life, but just barely. He needed to act fast. A vicious snarl built in his throat, the mere thought of losing her sending his instincts into a frenzy. He fell to his knees beside her, hands hovering over her frail form, unsure if moving her would do more harm than good. Blood pooled around her, the scent thick in the air, but Garrett didn’t waver. He pushed aside his vampiric instincts as if nothing mattered more than her. She was his only focus. Her eyes finally fluttered open, barely focusing, as if she felt his presence. “You’re real,” she whispered, voice rasping like wind through ashes. Garrett swallowed hard. “Yeah, sweetheart. I’m real.” A weak smile ghosted her lips. “Shame… I was hoping… hallucination. Would be less embarrassing.” Even in agony, she found humour. A slow grin tugged at the corner of his mouth. “Sorry to disappoint.” Her breath hitched, and her body seized with pain. He knew then that there was no saving her. Not as she was. Her injuries were too severe, her human body too fragile. His jaw clenched. “I can help you,” he said, voice low, urgent. “But you have to trust me.” She blinked sluggishly, already fading. “Dying doesn’t… seem very helpful.” He leaned closer, his voice soft, almost coaxing. “You don’t have to die.” Realization flickered in her gaze. A breath of silence stretched between them before she gave the smallest nod. That was all he needed. With a low growl, he sank his teeth into her wrist.
—
The change burned like the wildfire that nearly killed her. Agony consumed every nerve, fire igniting in her veins. Time lost meaning as minutes, hours and days blurred together in a relentless inferno. Somewhere in the haze, she felt a comforting presence. A steady voice. A hand brushing against hers, grounding her. Then, at last silence. When she opened her eyes, the world was different. It was sharper and brighter. The night sky stretched above her, endless and clear. Every ember, every crackling flame still burning in the wreckage below was unbearably vivid. The scent of smoke, earth and him flooded her senses. Hunger coiled in her stomach, but it wasn’t unbearable. It was controlled. She sat up, faster than she thought possible, and turned to face him. Garrett. His red eyes studied her, cautious but amused and more than anything thankful that she was still alive. At least in a sense. “Welcome back, sweetheart.” She exhaled. Her breath was smooth, effortless. The pain was gone and so was the weakness. She felt… powerful. But something else stirred beneath the surface. A flicker of warmth in her palm. There was a whisper in the air. She looked down at her hands, flexing her fingers. An uneasy feeling settled in her chest. Something else was different. Then, without warning, a small fire erupted from her fingertips. Panic surged through her as she jerked away, the flames flickering out as quickly as they appeared. Her breath hitched. “What the hell was that?” Garrett’s eyes widened, but his shock quickly shifted into fascination. “Well, that’s new.” She scrambled to her feet. The embers surrounding them pulsed in rhythm, like a steady heartbeat. She could feel it in her very core. The heat, the destruction, the roaring flames, all of it was inside her now. She stumbled backwards. “No. No, this can’t – this isn’t -” Garrett moved swiftly, catching her hands in his. His touch was grounding and solid. "Breathe." She no longer needed to breathe, but she mimicked the motion anyway before meeting his gaze. “I can’t – this isn’t normal. This isn’t supposed to happen.” His lips quirked. “Sweetheart, nothing about us is normal.” A sharp exhale left her. He wasn’t wrong. She forced herself to focus and try to push down the overwhelming fear rising in her throat. “It’s because of the fire,” she whispered. “The wildfire.” Garrett nodded with a thoughtful expression. “Looks like it gave you a parting gift.” A bitter laugh escaped her. “Some gift.” She clenched her fists, trying to stop the slight tremor in her fingers. “I felt it, Garrett. I felt the fire take everything. And now it’s me.” He was quiet for a moment, then he tilted his head. “Do you think the fire wanted to hurt you?” She blinked. “What?” He took a step closer. “Do you think it had a choice? Or was it just… fire?” She swallowed hard. “Fire isn’t good or bad,” he continued. “It just is. It destroys, yeah, but it also warms. It protects. It gives life just as much as it takes.” He let his fingers brush against hers. “And so will you. If you let yourself.” She looked at him, really looked at him. With her newly heightened senses, it felt as though she was seeing him for the first time. He wasn’t afraid of her. Not even a little. And for the first time, she considered that maybe she didn’t have to be afraid either. She took a deep breath out of habit. The embers no longer pulsed wildly around her. The fire inside her wasn’t raging, it felt as though it had been waiting. Garrett smirked. “Told you to trust me.” She huffed, rolling her eyes. “You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?” “A little.” He grinned. “But mostly, I’m just looking forward to what comes next.” As her confidence grew and her nerves settled, the embers around her slowly faded. She turned her gaze to the horizon, where the first light of dawn stretched across the charred landscape.
Everything was different now – her body, her senses, the fire that lived inside her. She would have to learn, to adapt, to figure out what this new existence meant. What did come next? She wasn’t sure. But with Garrett beside her, she was ready to find out.

IF YOU WRITE MARCUS WHITE X READER FICS I WILL LITERALLY CRY OMGGGG
Oh do I have a surprise for you!Get those tissues ready babes!
The Febrility of Falling For You
A/N:I couldn't get the Marcus brain rot out of my head so I hope you guys enjoy!
Warnings:None,mostly just fluff with Marcus and a sick reader because I was sick over the holidays and needed some fluff.
Pairing:Marcus White x fem!Reader
Word Count:1.5k
Cloud 9.My least favorite place to be yet it seems like I practically live here.I spend a good 39 hours a week stocking, cleaning and running a register all so corporate can tell me to go fuck myself when I fall sick.That's how I ended up here,moving boxes in the warehouse because I'm coughing too much to be anywhere near the customers with a 101 degree fever but too broke to stay home.I nearly drop the box of Cloud 9 branded pans that I'm holding when I let out a squeaky sneeze.I sniffle as I set the box on the shelf and blow my nose into a tissue I stashed in my pocket.I groaned when I looked at the cart full of merchandise that I still needed to load onto the shelves.I stood there staring at the boxes as I contemplated walking out and just going home.I could get another job, right?Before I could actually make a decision and act on it,a familiar figure came around the corner.When he noticed my presence,Marcus's eyes lit up.
"(Y/N)!What are you doing back here?Don't you usually work up front?"
He leaned against the shelves as he looked me over with a confused expression.He was right.I was always up front working the sales floor.I was a serious asset to our sales numbers.I coughed into my elbow and sniffled as I looked up at Marcus with tired and puffy eyes.He could tell how sick I was with just one look at me.
"Dina said I was too much of a *cough* risk to have on the floor so she *cough* stuck me back here.Sorry if I'm *cough* in your way or anything."
I sniffled and coughed a couple more times before giving him a weak smile.Marcus didn't seem amused,however.In fact, the look on Marcus's face was a cocktail of concern and anger.
"Why are you here if you're sick?You should be at home, sunshine."
There it was.That nickname.Marcus always called me sunshine.He started calling me that the day I started working here 2 years ago.It eventually became endearing and Marcus became known as my 'work husband'.And I was his little sunshine.No one else got to call me that.I recall Tate calling me that all of one time and the next day he showed up to work with a busted lip and refused to look at me.I gave a light giggle which quickly turned into a coughing fit.It took me a minute to sober up before I could give Marcus an eye roll and an amused smile.
"Well,not all of us make $86/hr and can afford to miss work when we're sick, darlin'."
My words were punctuated by a sneeze.The look in Marcus's eyes was soft when I moved to pick up another box.He quickly took it from my hands before shelving it above my head for me.
"You're gonna hurt yourself if you keep lifting heavy stuff while you're sick, princess."
He brushed some of my hair from my eyes before tucking it behind my ear.My cheeks were flushed but I couldn't tell if that was because of the feeling of his rough, calloused fingers brushing my cheek or from the high fever I was trying to break.I found myself leaning into his touch and letting my eyes close for just a second.I was so tired and my eyes burned from the puffiness.I sniffled a bit and swallowed a small cough before it could escape me.That small moment where my eyes fell shut was so alluring.I just wanted to lay down and pass out.I felt Marcus tilt my head up and place the back of his other hand on my forehead.His hands were cool against my feverish skin and I sighed with a small smile at the welcome relief of the temperature.
"Jesus,sunshine.You're burning up."
My eyes fluttered open and my gaze met his.Concern filled his whiskey hues and I felt a pang of guilt for a moment, guilt for not staying home and taking better care of myself.But then I was reminded that I had bills to pay and my own mouth to feed so the guilt ebbed away soon enough.
"Come on.You're not working like this.If anyone asks,I'll just say I put you on a project that needed a woman's expertise."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marcus led me over to a storage closet in the back corner of the warehouse that he'd turned into his office.There was a nice desk covered in paperwork along with a couch and a couple of cushy looking chairs.Upon further inspection,Marcus also kept a mini fridge stashed behind his desk filled with rooter and Sunny D.
He guided me by my wrist over to the couch and sat me down.He pulled a pillow and a blanket from behind the couch and gently pushed my shoulders so I laid down.Marcus pulled the blanket over me and tucked me in before grabbing one of the tiny bottles of Sunny D from the mini fridge and opened it for me, grabbing my hand and gently wrapping my fingers around the bottle.
"Here,drink this.It'll help.And-"
He turned to the top drawer in his desk, grabbing a bottle of dark purple liquid.It was NyQuil.He poured out a dose of it into the little medicine cup and kneeled down in front of me where I laid on the couch.
"Take this."
I scrunched my nose up at the medicine and shook my head.I hated cough syrup, especially the grape kind and I could smell the artificial flavoring from here.Marcus gave me a stern look before gently grabbing my face, cradling my jaw in his rough and calloused hand.If he weren't attempting to get me to take cough syrup I might've been turned on by that.
"Sunshine,you need to take the medicine.How are you gonna get better if you don't take anything and just work yourself to death?"
I pouted up at him as he spoke to me in that stern voice he used when I either accidentally injured myself or forgot to eat or drink water through the day.And oh how I loved that voice.But right now that voice was trying to make me drink cough syrup and I was delirious from my fever so I was not having it.I pouted and shook my head with a sniffle.
"Nuhuh.I'm not drinking that.It tastes like purple."
Marcus raised a brow at my bratty tone and unyielding stance on why I refused to take the medicine.He couldn't help the smirk that crossed his lips as he looked down at me.Even kneeling next to me,Marcus still had to look down at me.Most people found his towering height to be intimidating but I personally found it to be rather comforting.
"I'm sorry.Did you just say it tastes purple?"
I nodded curtly like it was the most obvious thing in the whole world.He gave a small chuckle as he cradled my jaw in his big, strong hand and shook his head at my antics.
"Well,ya gotta take it sweetheart.You wanna feel better,don't you?"
I sniffle and nod,a pouty look on my face as he brings the little cup of medicine closer to my lips.
"Then ya gotta take the medicine, sunshine.C'mon,who's my favorite girl?"
I couldn't take my eyes away from the icky cup of grape cough syrup as he spoke.He sighed before tilting my head up with his hand to make me look at him.
"If you take the medicine, then I'll buy you that new book you've been talking about for forever.Yeah?"
For a moment,I actually considered it.It was the latest installment in a series I'd been reading for a while and I just kept blowing through them because it was so difficult for me to put each copy down.I would never actually let anyone,especially not Marcus,spend that kind of cash on me.Before I could open my mouth to argue, his thumb traced my bottom lip and tugged at it ever so softly as his eyes flicked from mine down to my lips and back up again.
"C'mon,sunshine.Be a good girl for me, yeah?I just wanna take care of you."
I swallowed the lump that was forming in my throat when I heard him speak.Marcus always had a way of making me weak in the knees but god dammit was he good at turning me into a puddle.Without even a second thought,I downed the purple liquid in one go and scrunched my nose at the purple flavor.
"Ew."
But the smile on Marcus's face was well worth the disgusting flavor lingering in my mouth.I washed it down with orange juice to help dissipate the flavor as Marcus stroked my cheek with his thumb.He took the cup from me and set it on his desk before tucking me in again and placing a gentle kiss to my feverish forehead.
"I'll be back to check on you in a bit, okay?You just get some rest,sunshine."
I did as I was told and let my head hit the pillow, heavy eyes falling shut as Marcus stood and turned the lights off.He stood there for a second to make sure I was okay before whispering mostly to himself.
"I love you so much,pretty girl."

Hi! I was wondering if I could request a Garrett one shot with a reader who struggles with sensory issues? Such as they get overwhelmed by being in crowds?
Just read ur other Garret posts and I absolutely LOVE them!
Thank you!!!
Hello!! Thank you for requesting and for the love on my other posts! I truly hope you like this one as well :) I wanted to really focus on the experience of being in a crowd and highlight the small gestures I think Garrett would do to help calm you. Feel free to reach out with thoughts, feedback or anything you'd like to see next <3 Enjoy!

The bustling marketplace stretched endlessly before you, alive with a relentless energy that set your nerves on edge. People moved in every direction weaving between vendor stalls and clustered groups. Their voices rose in an overwhelming cacophony of haggling, laughter, and distant music. The sheer force of it pressed against your senses. The once-pleasant aromas of fresh pastries, ripe fruit, street food, and blooming flowers blended into an overwhelming mix, leaving you slightly nauseous. Your breathing quickened, shallow and uneven. You had expected this to be difficult, being in crowds always was, but you wanted to try. You had told yourself that this time would be different, that you would prepare, that you would try and brace yourself against the creeping anxiety that came with too much stimulation. Garrett had hesitated when you first mentioned the idea. His keen golden eyes scanned your face, searching for any sign of doubt. After you reassured him and said you’d let him know if it became too much, he nodded and offered you his hand in silent agreement.
Now, standing in the middle of the crowded street, his cold hand was the only thing keeping you grounded.
His grip was firm but careful as his thumb traced slowly over your knuckles. It was enough, at first. You tried your best to focus on steadying your breath with some simple breathing exercises as you cautiously moved further into the crowd. Garrett never let go, never rushed you. But the marketplace was relentless. The crowd pressed in even closer, brushing against you from all sides. Each accidental touch sent an electric jolt through your system. Strangers’ voices tangled together and their words lost all meaning. Your pulse thrummed in your ears, loud and insistent, matching the rhythmic clatter of footsteps against cobblestone. You tightened your grip on Garrett’s hand, fingers trembling slightly. He, of course, noticed immediately. His free hand settled gently against your lower back. “You with me?” His voice was low and quiet against the noise, meant only for you. You could only nod since your throat felt tight as if speaking would shatter what little control you had left. Garrett didn’t push. He just shifted closer, shielding you from the worst of the crowd. His broad frame provided a barrier thus lessening the impact of jostling bodies. He started guiding you toward the edge of the street, away from the densest part of the market. “Hey.” His voice was steady, calm. “We’re stepping out. Come on.” He didn’t wait for a response as he knew you couldn’t give one right now. Instead, he simply continued moving you away from the chaos. The moment the noise softened, the moment the crowd wasn’t pressing against you anymore, you felt your lungs start to work properly again. When you stepped into an empty side alley your skin buzzed with lingering overstimulation as you leaned onto the cool wall. You were still on edge but at least now you could breathe. One step at a time. Garrett stayed close, his hand never left yours. He didn’t speak right away. He just waited. It was something you had always appreciated about him. He never rushed you through moments like these, never made you feel like you had to justify your reactions. He understood, in a way that very few people did, that sometimes words weren’t needed immediately. After several deep breaths you finally turned to face him. His golden eyes were unwavering, completely fixated on you. He lifted a hand, waiting for silent permission before gently brushing a strand of hair from your face. His touch was deliberate, careful, meant to ground rather than startle. “Better?” he murmured. You nodded slowly, though your fingers were still curled into fists at your sides. The tension lingering in your muscles. Garrett took both of your hands in his, once again rubbing light circles over your palms with his thumbs. The repetitive motion slowly eased the remnants of anxiety. It was a small thing, but it worked. “Take your time,” he said, and you knew he meant it. You exhaled, shaky but much steadier than before. “I tried.” “I know.” His lips quirked slightly. “You did good.” Your throat tightened at the sincerity in his voice. “I wanted to last longer.” Garrett shook his head, still tracing those soothing patterns against your skin. “You lasted as long as you needed to.” The weight of his words settled deep in your chest making you warm inside. You squeezed his hands offering a silent thank you. Garrett responded by bringing one of your hands to his lips, pressing a brief kiss against your knuckles. “Next time,” he said, his voice lighter now, “we’ll find a quieter place. Less overwhelming. More you.” You nodded, letting the last remnants of tension drain from your shoulders. After a few more minutes you broke the silence. "Thank you," you whispered again, more for yourself than for him. Garrett’s gaze softened, and he leaned in, his forehead lightly brushing against yours. “No need to thank me. I’m not going anywhere.” His words were simple, but they held so much weight, so much promise. You let yourself believe them, because with him you knew that this was something you could hold onto. And maybe, just maybe, you were starting to believe you could open up even more, without fear.

Prompt 1.7 the hearing aid one with Garrett from Twilight if you can! I'd love to see him with a mate that was born deaf and perhaps has a cochlear implant. Perhaps post what happens when she becomes a vampire and hears for the first time without the use of her implant. Please and thank you!
Voice of an Angel(Garrett)
Parring: Human!Cullen!Reader X Garrett
Summary: Garrett loves everything about you even if your deaf, he's always been fascinated about your cochlear implant and even learned sign language for you. But then he has no choice to turn you into a vampire after an accident, but on the bright side you hear for the first time.
Prompt: 1.7)“I'm not ignoring you. My hearing aid just doesn't like you”
A/n: for plot reasons we're just gonna say Garrett was invited to Edward's wedding and that's how you met then you'd be in astablish relationship by BD2
Twilight Master list
“It's really good to hear your voice saying my name, It sounds so sweet. Coming from the lips of an angel Hearing those words, it makes me weak” - lips of an Angel, Hinder
-------(3rd pov)-------
Bella and Edward's wedding ceremony went off without a hitch and now they're husband and wife. Y/n clapped for her little brother dispite the lonly and aching pain she felt, she wanted what Edward had.
During the reception y/n turned off her hearing aid, getting tired of all the noise that surrounded her. She was leaning against the wall away from everyone when her best friend Eleazar came up to her.
“you okay?” he asked, she didn't respond too stuck in her day dream. Eleazar nudged her, making her look his direction. She turned her hearing aid back on a smiled.
“you turned your hearing aid off again?” he asked. She shrugged. “I hate how loud it was getting”
“try listening to all this with vampire hearing” Eleazar joked.
As the friends talked something or someone cought her eyes. She looked over and saw a scruffy vampire joking with Emmett and Rosalie. She pointed towards the vampire. “hey El, who's that?”
His gold eyes shot to the direction she was pointing. “I don't know... Friend of Edward's maybe”
Garrett looked around as he was joking with Emmett, he tried to ignore the smell of humans everywhere as he had promised not kill anyone, but then one smell cought his attention, it wasn't an appetizing smell... It was a smell he was attracted to. He looked over and saw a woman, the prettiest one he's ever seen.
He couldn't explain the emotions he was feeling, but he knew one of them was jealously as she laughed with a guy he didn't know. He nudged Rosalie not taking his eyes off the girl.
“who's that over there...” he pointed at y/n. Rosalie smiled. “that's y/n.. She's the newest member of the family, she's kinda like our big sister”
“she's gorgeous” he mumbled and for a second he forgot about the advanced hearing him and Emmett possessed. Emmett smacked him upside of the head. “that's my sister... My human sister”
Garrett, not phased by the smak walked towrds y/n, completely ignoring Emmett's threats. As he silently walked towrds her he felt relieved as another woman whisked the guy she was talking to way.
“Hey, I'm Garrett” he said flashing his devishly handsome smirk. “you looked lonely”
“y-you mean board” I she chuckled. He smiled then looked at all the couples dancing. “would you care to dance?” he held out his hand, y/n didn't know why but she took the strangers hand.
“I'm y/n by the way”
“Garrett” he replied as he pulled her to the dance floor and flawlessly swayed around the room among the other couples his ruby eyes stared into her's like a love sick puppy. “can I ask you something?” he asked.
“Sure” part of her thought he'd ask about the hearing-aid, it's always the first thing people notice about her. But not him, the first thing he noticed was her eyes. But then he asked somthing cought her off guard.
“Do you believe in love at first sight -or should I walk by again?” he grined. She let out a chuckle and looked away as she unexpectedly blushed at the cheesey pick-up line.
“really? You've been spending too much time with Emmett it sounds like” she joked. Before he could awnser Jasper came up with smile but his eyes held fire.
“can I cut in?” He asked. Y/n gave her brother a weird look as Garrett released his hands from her.
“Sure”
“what was that about?” she asked putting her hands on his shoulders. Jasper just shrugged. “What, I can't dance with my sister?”
“you can but, Emmett and you both have been acting weird, so has Eleazar” I said as we danced to a more up-beat song.
She looked passed Jasper's shoulder and saw Garrett talking to Rosalie. He looked up and their eyes met. She immediately looked down when he flashed her a smirk.
The smiles, the pick up lines, it didn't go no where the rest of the night. It's not like he had the chance, her brothers and best friend wouldn't leave her side. It didn't go anywhere passed a dance, or so she thought.
After Bella and Edward left for their honeymoon people dispersed throughout the next two days. But one didn't leave, Garrett hit on her every chance he got and she didn't know why. She was sure it was just in his nature to do so, but it was annoying.
She always felt a little insecure about her hearing aid, she never thought a guy would find it attractive. She got over it thought and she wasn't ashamed of who she was, but then Garrett shows up and she starts to question everything.
~~~~~~~~(.......)~~~~~~~~
It was night three and Garrett still. Hadn't left, he used the excuse that he wanted to catch up with Emmett. He wasn't catching up with Emmett.
That night she sat on the roof of the house trying to get some peace and quiet, but she wouldn't be alone for long.
“Any chance you have an extra heart? Mine’s been stolen” Garrett smirked as he jumped on the roof and sat next to her.
“Garrett” she said simply.
“Yes?” he smiled.
“shut up” she smiled softly and shook her head.
He chuckled, she looked at him and she couldn't held but laugh with him. They talked into the night, important and useless stuff on both ends.
“can I ask you something?” he asked”
She nodded. “how did you get thing on your ear?”
She recoiled and moved her hair over it without relizing it. He grabed her hand gently stopping her. “I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you”
She shrugged. “I've had it as long as I could remember... I was one of Carlisle's patience before he took me in”
“I know thst look” he started as he read her body language. He could be all jokes but over the centuries he learned how to read people.
“I didn't realize it when we first met ya know? I noticed your eyes” he said. She looked into his red ones and saw nothing but the truth. Being around Edward for some long she learned how to read people too, just the human way.
“I think your beautiful” he admitted. She looked at him shocked at his boldness, but then she couldn't deny the connection between them. Without out thinking he leaned down and connected her lips to his could ones. He froze for a second, not expecting it but his brain quickly rewired and he pulled her closer.
~~~~~~~~(1st pov, present time)~~~~~~~~
The whole family was in shock when Renesmee was born, the little miracle quickly terned into a curse when Irina outed us to the vulturi.
We gathered many witness, even some of Garrett's old war buddies. The house was full of red eyes and being human thst wasn't so great. Garrett knew that too which is why he wouldn't leave my side for too long, and if he did Eleazar or carlisle would be with me, watching me like a couple of body guards. As much as he loved being around my brothers I think those two are the only ones he really trusted.
He especially didn't trust Vladimir, not because he thought he would drink me, but beacuse he saw the way Vladimir would look at me and flirt with me. He was nice and I was too head over heals about Garrett to realize the flirting.
After Garrett told me his concerns I started to notice Vladimir's flirting... Then it started to get annoying. Tody was one of those days.
Vladimir smirked and continued to flirt, you could tell it was getting on Garrett's last nerve. Vladimir then tunred to carlisle. “carlisle, do those little hand movements you and Garrett always do, she can't hear me”
I snorted “I'm not ignoring you, my hearing aid just doesn't like you I said not taking my eyes off my book. “and it's sign language you Dracula want to be”
Garrett smirked as I snapped my book closed and left the living room. “that's my girl” he smirked and followed after me.
We got threw the week though and the kid was safe and so was the family. The witness said their good byes thought out the week and left for home. The Denalis were the last to stay, which was nice to just morn the death of Irina.
Sigh...
I don't know how it happened really, one second I was saying goodbye to my knew friend Benjamin and then the next I'm lying in the woods covered in my own blood... I couldn't hear a thing either.
~~~~~~~~(Garrett's pov)~~~~~~~~
I looked around the house feeling uneasy. Y/n hadn't been back yet and that was unsal for her.
“have you guys seen y/n?” I asked coming into the living room. The family looked up confused.
“somethings wrong” I mumbled. Some of them shrugged and said she usually disappears after a 'family emergency'
“maybe she got tired of you and left for Egypt with Benjamin” Emmett joked. I knew it was a joke but I was to nervous to think of a usual comeback.
Everyone chuckled but Eleazar looked at me just as worried. “your right... Somthings not right”
Alice dropped something and gasped. She looked panicked, I feared the worst. “it's y/n”
I didn't think twice and was out of the house in seconds with Carlisle and Eleazar behind me. We raced around the woods frantically. The deeper we got the stronger the smell of her blood was, I gasped feeling sick at how strong it was.
I stoped and saw her hearing aid. “over here!” I shouted. Eleazar was at the scene first. I jumped back aginst a tree at the sight of her... Blood never looked so sickening.
“Garrett she needs you right now” Eleazar said as his hands socked up the blood as he checked her womds
“I can't do it” I gasped. “changer her! Please before she dies”
I closed my eyes as Eleazar bit into her. I would be sobbing like a baby if I was human.
~~~~~~~~(1st pov)~~~~~~~~
When I opened my eyes everything seemed so clear. I could see the tiniest cracks in the wall and every single dust partical.
I heared birds chirping. I was so loud it was like the bird was on my shoulder yelling in my ear.
Wait..
I reached up and I didn't feel my hearing aid. I immediately sat up and looked around. My eyes stopped on Garrett. He looked so relived.
“are you okay?” he asked frantically. My eyes widened at how clear his voice sound, I could always sort of hear him but to hear him clear as day made me want to cry.
“say something eles” I said ignoring the question. He looked at me with a questioning look. “What?”
“say something! I can hear!” Garrett shot up immediately with suprise. “oh shit!”
He looked around with the biggest smile. “oh my god! I love you! This is great” he picked me up and spung me around.
“I love the sound of your voice” I chuckled. He pressed his lips to mine in a passionate kiss. “I love you” he said.
“love you too”
