Something I really like about Raph and Leo’s relationship is that Raph noticeably doesn’t hold back with Leo nearly as much as he does with Donnie and Mikey, and it’s really nice to see that from him.
Leo too would frequently fall into a natural strategist and second-in-command role of sorts, often actually giving his worries and thoughts to Raph where he wouldn’t normally.
Then the Shredder happens and this dynamic is thrown into a loop where they both stay solidly in their own camps of “we’re heroes, it’s our duty” and “we’re teens, who cares?” And during this, Raph not holding back from Leo is cranked up to an eleven and Leo flips around to mask more with Raph than he ever had before and deliberately riles Raph up so that fights are all but guaranteed.
Post-invasion, it’s clear they’re (mostly) back to how they were before for the most part, with an added level of respect and maturity (and trauma) there too, and it’s great to see because they’re an amazing duo when they’re on the same wavelength.

Book Colin's entrapment comment
if you are all going to hate on show Colin might as well hate your beloved book Colin too...
Tumblr media
And let's also remember that show Colin has a history to back him up.
I get that his comment was hurtful and made no sense given that he was the one who seduced her and with him knowing that Pen is not that kind of person.
but try and understand that he was hurt and felt betrayed by the one person who has always made him feel truly appreciated and seen in ways that he's never felt seen before.
I mean, don't we all say things that we do not mean in anger?
His words were sharp but justified!
I rest my case.
Luke's thoughts on Colin's anger and hurt...

nothing makes me feel quite as crazy as how I made an artificer faerie right before the faerie artificer plushie came out. Because I read Brynn's neopedia article about her and Hanso being tasked to locate and recover ancient faerie artefacts and wondered who had made those artefacts
and I was making up random lore about tdf and figured itd be neat if her mom was involved with the court,
im going to bang my head against a wall like you cannot believe how insane this makes me about never finishing this draft page

A Biltmore Christmas may be the first Hallmark movie to drive me to fanfic.
#hallmark#a biltmore christmas#time travel#WHERE IS MY POST-CREDITS SCENE SHOWING HOW MARGARET REACTS???#she was one of the best parts of the movie!#you need at least five minutes of her screaming for joy!#also clearly there was a conspiracy of people in the past who knew about the time travel thing so how did that work?#what about that bearded guy on the crew who was CLEARLY another time traveler?#(there is no way that facial hair came from 1947)#also where does the relationship go from there?#how do you adjust?#does tour guide riker help out?#so many unanswered questions can fit into the last scenes of that film and i need answers#also just overall: thanks to people who said this one was worth seeking out because my goodness what a delight#that movie oozed charm#i think maybe my true core fictional love is classic '30s/'40s film because i was digging that vibe#the banter! the patter! the zingers! the perfect blend of cynicism and sentimentality#some of the background stuff was too modern but also some was spot on#that guy who played claude looks like he was born to be a classic Hollywood film star#the leading lady did not fit the vibe at all but she had great chemistry with the movie's leads so i can see why they cast her#the old-timey writer dude was charming#the main lady might be a new favorite hallmark actress (there's only one other on the list)#(watched part of a different film with her in it and she seems to put some of that classic hollywood sass into her roles)#i wasn't sold on the male lead at first but the writing came through for him#when he sits in the chair behind her! when he's trying to guess her personality traits?#charming and absolutely spot-on for the vibe#(the fact that they cast hallmark regulars in the remake is hilarious and also sad because it looks so much worse than the original)#anyway great time had a blast will definitely be rewatching

it's very telling that shondaland only deigned to include simone and jonny in promo to serve another couple’s season and popularity...same couple that got most of their season's pr anyway

I'm still working on the monster romance book rec list (it’s gonna be at least another month, I have like five potential entries to read first, but there’ll be a different rec list posted by new year's in the meantime) and truly I'm only growing more consternated about the lack of monster ladies in f/m romances.
Most of the monster ladies I found were f/f. Obviously it's great that there's several sapphic monster romances, but it's a bit strange to me that m/f romances are so unwilling to make the heroine monstrous or inhuman in appearance. Historically the beauty and the beast story (and its many monster/animal bridegroom variations; east of the sun west of the moon, prince hat under the ground, eros and phsyche, etc) could be used as a lesson/comfort for girls entering arranged marriages, telling them that this strange man might seem monstrous at first but if only she's Kind and Good and Trusting maybe it'll turn out he's a Good Man Actually (take a look at these videos by lindsay ellis and princess weekes for more info!), but today the monster romance vibe is more that of recognition of the Self through the Other (think Shape of Water) as well as questions of What Makes a Monster, Really (also smut, lots of smut, but that's not my vibe and not what I was looking for for this list). A good beauty and the beast retelling will take this into consideration (disney's version being an excellent example).
But is there no longing in the m/f romance world to as a woman feel that we are the monster and wanting to be recognized as worthy of love regardless? Why must the self-recognition always be through a pretty (or at most bland) face? Why is the only piece of media seeming willing to even consider taking the concept of a monster woman finding love seriously fucking Shrek?
Anyway, do tell me if you know of any other titles doing the monster lady romance thing, please, I'm dying.

So I'm trawling around on thredup looking for sports bras, and just stumbled upon the most inexplicable piece of clothing I have ever encountered in my 30+ years on this earth.
Tumblr media
???????????????
I'm not sure whoever made this has ever actually seen a pair of breasts in person in their life. Like, listen, I qualify for a capital A in 'A cup' on a good day (and a lowercase a on the other days, sob), and even I would have underboob hanging out in this fever dream of a sports bra. Or at least lower-quadrant boob. Who looked at a pair of breasts and went 'yeah, no, the most important thing for the underside of the bra is not support, it's aeration.' I mean, yeah, my guy, underboob sweat is not a good time, but you know what else isn't a good time? An indecent exposure citation.
And then the dip up top? The string??? Pal, that string is not going to save you or whatever misguided soul buys this monstrosity from being one overenthusiastic running stride away from a wardrobe malfunction. If I put this on and sneezed too hard I'm genuinely not sure whether the girls would pop out the top or if the whole thing would ride up like a misplaced g-string.
I know there's no such thing as a license for making clothing, but maybe there should be.
