Whumpee sacrificing themself to protect their friends....that's the shit
AGREE AGREE AGREE
it hits so hard every single fuckjng time
Actually, here’s a little snippet that this ask inspired
Content: team whump, team dynamics, lady whump, sidekick whump, manhandling, beating, gun mention, pistol whipping, branded, sacrificial character, self sacrifice, pinned down, used for bait, vigilante whumpee, supervillain whumper, forced to kneel
Supervillain’s henchmen surrounded the small team in the same way a pack of coyotes swarmed their victim. They could taste victory.
The fight had left them covered in dust and blood and in horrible shape.
Exhausted.
Bleary eyed.
Defeated.
it took two guards to force Leader to kneel. The fight had done a number on her, with one eye swollen shut and her knuckles ripped open, blood dripping into the sand.
Once down, there was the click of a guns safety and the rich smell of powder and metal burning her nose.
She worked her jaw in a tight circle, knocking loose a tooth. The taste of iron was overwhelming and she spat out a glob of blood with something white embedded in it on the henchmen’s boot.
They groaned in disgust.
Then Youngest dropped down beside her, their uniform torn and stained. The fight hadn’t gone well for them either. They were clearly shaking, a hollow look in their eyes.
She tried smiled at them. It came out crooked. “It’ll be okay,” she mouthed.
Youngest grinned back tiredly. They wanted to believe her so so badly.
The henchmen kicked down Medic and tore off their satchel, dumping its contents on the ground. White bandages unraveled in spirals and bottles of much needed medicine spilled into the dirt. Wasted.
Medic’s jaw trembled but they stared directly forward.
“We’ll get it back,” Leader attempted to comfort them in a whisper.
One of the henchmen pressed the muzzle of the gun to her head in a clear threat. “Quiet!”
Leader’s eyes burned. “Or what?”
She never got to hear the answer.
Supervillain strode through his circle of followers, eying the captives. Finally victorious, he adjusted his shirt collar with a grin. But his triumphant smile faltered before fading away altogether.
He looked over the team again, counting them off.
One. Two. Three. Four.
Where was Vigilante? Where was his turncoat sidekick?
Supervillain wasted no time.
“Where are they?” He didn’t need to specify who. Everyone knew who they were. He paced in front of them, each step methodically, pausing for dramatic effect in front of Youngest.
Youngest swallowed, eyes darting to Leader for guidance.
Leader pursed her lips with an almost untraceable shake of her head. Almost.
Supervillain saw it.
“You really think this stubbornness will get you anywhere?” He sighed. “You silly, stupid, little fools.”
He grabbed Youngest by the shirt collar and twisted it, hauling them to their feet. Actually, their feet left the ground and swung above the sand. “Tell me where Vigilante is, or this one won’t be able to say anything at all.”
“Let them go!” Leader’s molecules felt like they would rip apart if she did nothing. She lunged to her feet, frantic. The henchmen reminded her of the gun by whipping the butt across her temple.
White. Blinding, electric white.
There was a sickening thud as she folded over into the dirt.
Medic’s mouth fell open. No—
A few yards away, a shadowy figure had a similar reaction, except they were horrifyingly sick into a discarded helmet.
Vigilante cowered, their invisibility a small escape for now. They suppressed a tremor, their breathing too loud in their own ears— how could Supervillain not hear it?
They watched with wide eyes as Supervillain pinned Youngest to the ground by the sole of his boot. The movement was as fluid as squishing a beetle.
Their breathing faltered, Supervillain’s boot a throbbing memory on their shoulder. How many times had he done the same thing to them?
The last time Vigilante cried had been the day Leader found them.
They were dangerously close to tears now.
They couldn’t go back to him. Back to the beatings and bruises and the red, red room—
They couldn’t—
Coward.
Then Supervillain slipped on spiked metal rings. Slowly, so Youngest could see them. “Someone has to pay for wasting my time.”
Youngest struggled under Supervillain. “I-I’m sorry! Please I don’t know anything, I swear I don’t know I don’t—“
It was too much to hear the tremble in their voice. Vigilante couldn’t take this.
Vigilante didn’t know what came over them. A sense of calm. Something desperate, something other.
They shifted back into visibility.
“Miss me?”
Everyone turned.
Everyone stared.
Supervillain began to smile again. “Hello, Sidekick,” he used their old name like it was a curse. Subtly, he nodded to his henchmen to begin to encircle Vigilante.
Vigilante swallowed. Hard. No turning back now. “It’s Vigilante. Now let them go—“ they gestured at Youngest and the rest of the team. “It’s me you want.” A hint of desperation snuck through the gaps in their teeth, audible.
Supervillain ground the heel of their boot into Youngest’s back. They wheezed, the sound strangled, as something small snapped in their ribcage. “Vigilante!” Help.
“Get off them!” The tone was almost pleading.
“Grab them,” ordered Supervillain and the henchmen wrestled Vigiliante’s hands behind their back, tying them tightly enough to cut off circulation.
Supervillain stepped off of Youngest, who lay sprawled on the sand like a thing discarded. He approached Vigilante.
Vigilante’s breath caught in their throat. The henchmen’s grip was unrelenting, pinning them in place.
With two fingers, Supervillain tilted Vigilante’s chin upwards. And then to the left. Then to the right. Inspecting them from all angles. “I did miss you.” he relented.
Vigilante looked away.
But Supervillain’s touch didn’t leave. It traced downwards, dipping below Vigilante’s shirt collar.
Vigilante swallowed. Please.
Supervillain peeled back the shirt to reveal the brand on Vigilante’s collarbone, as deep and scorched as the day it had been given.
Vigilante’s gaze flickered up, to the glassy blue sky, away from Supervillain’s smug smile and Medic’s sympathetic eyes.
They knew what had to be said. And the words tasted like acid in their throat, built up like plaque on the back of their teeth.
“Take me back.”
“Hm?”
“Take me back. I’ll go. Just…just leave them.”
A pause.
“You’re prepared to accept the punishment for the troubles I’ve been put through to get you back?” The words were like a physical blow and Vigilante flinched.
Medic broke in. “Don’t do it! Don’t!”
“Yes,” they whispered, unable to look away from the bloody sand. Leaders limp body. Youngest curled into a fetal position. Medic. Kneeling.
“What’s that?” Supervillains smile widened.
“Yes,” and tears pricked the corners of their eyes. “Sir.”

After the rescue, Leader never shows the impact captivity had on them.
They keep composure for the sake of their team. But there are signs.
------------------------
"Bring me coffee to my office, please" while they never used to say please before, out of their rank and reputation.
Smoking way more often then before
A tiny little muscle tremble that makes it hard to hold the cutlery. Drops the fork on the floor and instantly picks it up, like nothing happened.
Gives more authority to their assistant to take decisions for them.
During the meeting, they show their assistants some secret hand sign and leave the room. They continue without them.
Used to hate cats/dogs? Now places their hand on the fur of the animal that came and lied down next to them. Well, look at that, isn't that a retired service animal that sensed their distress?
A crying kid sees the first adult they can run to and hugs their waist, crying. Leader instead of instantly ordering to take the kid away, first sighs and awkwardly pets their back. "There, there".

The medic leaned over his captain, wiping away the sweat on his forehead with a damp cloth. The man himself was out cold, as he had been for the past day. Tan skin had become a pale shade and a strong body had been reduced to a limp shell of itself. Heavy breathing became the only thing that showed he was still alive and struggling to be.
He wasn't getting better.
The wound had festered and the infection must have gotten into his bloodstream. Medic had been too late to notice and the captain had been too occupied trying to keep as many of his men alive as he could whilst completing their mission. The platoon stopped advancing yesterday when their captain collapsed right in front of them.
But the general had had enough. One man wasn't enough reason to abandon their assignment.
"He can't even sit up by himself, sir! He won't survive if we-" "We aren't bringing him. He will stay here," "With all due respect sir, this platoon needs their medic with them-" "I said that your captain is staying here. Not you," The medic's heart dropped when the general's words started to register. He was being ordered to leave behind his captain. His brother by everything but blood. "Look at him, medic. I doubt he will still be alive by tommorow. You're wasting your supplies," "General! He isn't dead yet! He just needs time-" "Time that we do not have, soldier. We will move by sunrise tommorow. We are advancing without him,"
A small whine answered the general before the medic could, making both men turn to the weak body on the cot. The general sighs as he walks to the young man's side, placing a gentle hand on a too warm forehead. The captain's eyes were hardly open, but he was conscious and had heard the whole conversation. "I'm sorry, son. You were a good soldier and one of my best men. But this mission is of higher importance," "My men...take care of 'em, sir," "I will. For your own good, you need to let go. You don't need to hold on anymore, son. You've done your part," The medic's hand trembled as he watched the two high ranks.
"m' sorry, sir...dying...is not as easy as I thought," "I know. Which is why I will help you. You don't have to suffer like this anymore, son," The general said as he passed the medic a small packet of white powder. "Sir?" "It's cyanide. Mix some into water and feed it to him tonight," "You're...you're asking me to kill him, sir?" "He's in pain, soldier. You're going to do him a favour,"
The captain was partially conscious now but he had seen the powder. Medic made the mistake of meeting the captain's eyes, seeing the fear in them under the haze of sickness. "I will allow you to bury him properly before we depart. Make sure it is done by sunrise," the general said before leaving the tent.
-----
Medic cradled his captain's upper torso, the mixed concoction of poison ready in a canteen. The captain's head laid limp against Medic's shoulder. Medic noticed that his captain was trembling.
No, wait. It was him.
He was trembling.
A weak voice pulled the medic out of his haze. "Medic...I...I don't want to die," a voice he didn't recognize said, soft but shaky. "But...you're in...pain. You won't survive anyway-" "I don't wanna die...please...I'm scared..."
Medic put the canteen down, instead wrapping his arms tightly around his captain. The captain was built bigger than medic, but he seemed incredibly small in his brother's arms. "Okay. Okay. You're not going to die, alright? I'm not...I won't do it," "But...the orders..." "Fuck the orders. I am a medic. Your medic. My task is to keep the men alive, not kill them,"
The captain didn't answer, savouring the warmth of his brother holding him.

Defiant Leader x Confident Villain (6)
Read part one here! //Continued from here
TW: VERY INTIMATE CREEPY WHUMPER WHO DOESN’T RESPECT BOUNDARIES, WHUMPER WHO DOESN’T UNDERSTAND NO, boundary pushing whumper, close proximity whumper, whumper making whumpee uncomfortable, borderline SA? Kind of? Idk how to tag it, just kind of borderline implied douchebag but i think it can be triggering for people so beware
~*~*~*~*~*~
“Leader?” Villain asked, lunging forward and grabbing Leader’s face in their hands. “Hey, hey. Leader?”
There wasn’t anything except panic racing through their mind as Villain’s fingers trailed down to Leader’s neck, pressing in gently on his pulse. Only then did they relax, tension leaving their shoulders and calves as they pushed back on their heels and just stared at Leader.
“You scared me, you dick,” Villain muttered to nobody. Leader must have passed out from the pain. Doctor did warn them that that could happen when she was training them. Maybe it was a good thing Leader was passed out while his bones fused themselves together again.
Villain ran a hand through their hair, blowing a breath through their lips as they began to pack up their bag. They unclipped the used needle head and put it in the bag of disposables. Supervillain wouldn’t notice one more used anyways, the bag was half full.
No, their rational voice drawled, sarcasm thick. Supervillain wouldn’t notice something so minute at seeing Leader’s healed hand that he took the effort to break. He’ll never notice.
Villain ignored it as they stood, bag in hand. It would be fine. They’d burn that bridge when they came to it.
Villain cranked the metal door open and froze. Supervillain’s sharp eyes met theirs. Villain, the usually calm and cool, collected Villain froze like a child with their hand caught in the cookie jar. Their skulduggery was even childish, quickly hiding the bag behind their back as if Supervillain hadn’t just seen it in their hands.
“Villain,” Supervillain said with a winning smile. Supervillain held a hand up to the person he was talking to, muttering something Villain couldn’t hear before he started walking towards Villain. “So funny, I was just looking for you.”
“Oh, really?” Villain asked, their voice coming out higher than they would’ve liked so they cleared it and pitched it down. “Well, I was just doing my rounds, sir.”
“Were you? So vigilant. How about I inspect it? Like the old days?”
The lie died on their lips at Supervillain’s pointed look. The look that didn’t accept No for an answer. Villain swallowed and inclined their head.
“Of course, sir,” they said pushing the door to Leader’s room back open. Supervillain stepped in and told Villain to shut the door again. Villain didn’t hesitate, though their arms felt heavy as they cranked the door shut again until it sealed properly.
Villain turned to face Supervillain. Even he was dwarfed by the size of the room. It was a bunker from World War II, Supervillain told them when he first showed Villain around. It stored plane parts and guns, ammunition. It was a giant concrete void of space, that Supervillain had repurposed to be his interrogation room.
Villain was far less flashy. The more claustrophobic the better for his victims, though… Leader was able to find the flaw in that approach.
“Hmm,” Supervillain said, drawing Villain’s eyes to his face. “Would you look at that, Villain. Leader’s hand is miraculously healed.”
Villain stepped forward. It was better to admit their guilt now then draw it out and incur Supervillain’s wrath twice.
“I can explain.”
“Can you? I’d love to hear it.”
Villain swallowed and paused, searching for the words because what the fuck were they supposed to say? Villain was Supervillain’s second best interrogator, his best torturer and here they were floundering for words to defend healing Leader’s hand. Their enemy. Supervillain’s prisoner.
Supervillain tilted his head. “No? Do you want me to explain?”
“No, Supervillain… I— listen, I—”
“No, no, no, no,” Supervillain said, wagging a finger at Villain. Only gently scolding them. “I have an even better idea. How about we ask Leader what happened?”
Villain’s eyes shot to Leader, still slumped in his seat and back to Supervillain again. “He’s passed out.”
“I can rectify that,” Supervillain said sweetly. Villain shook their head, holding their hands up placatingly.
“Wait, wait, wait — Supervillain, please. I can—”
“Explain. Please,” Supervillain said, bending to pick up the hammer. His kind, pleasant smile still on his face as he swung the hammer between his fingers. “While I still have some semblance of patience.”
Villain gathered their composure, stuttering wouldn’t help them pacify Supervillain. Villain forced their body to relax before speaking. “You broke every bone in his hand,” Villain said. “The risk of infection was high and then you’d get nothing out of him.”
“And what do I want to get out of him?”
Villain shifted their stance. “He knows exactly who hired him from the commission. He knows who is gunning for you, personally. Shouldn’t we at least try to extract that information before we ki—”
Villain choked on the word. Desperate eyes realising their mistake flashed to Supervillain, searching for sympathy.
“And we can’t extract that information from someone with a broken hand, can we, Villain?” Supervillain asker, sarcasm coating every word. “You’re the expert after all. My expert.”
Supervillain walked around Leader’s chair towards Villain, hammer still in hand. Villain swallowed hard, forcing themselves to remain upright. Not to falter or show weakness. They had no reason to be afraid of Supervillain. Supervillain was their friend. Supervillain trusted them.
Now if they could just assure their heart of that fact maybe it would stop jack-rabbiting in their chest. Supervillain stopped in front of Villain, staring down at them. Villain couldn’t quite meet their gaze so instead they stared at his shoulder. Supervillain swung the hammer between their fingers, but Villain didn’t flinch. Then the metal head of the hammer was under their chin, forcing their head up to meet Supervillain’s icy eyes.
Every muscle in their thighs tensed and released, getting ready to run which was ridiculous because why would they run from Supervillain? If their body could just catch up to their brain that would help them a bunch in this moment.
“I want you to grab the medic bag and bring it back to the medbay,” Supervillain told them. The tension almost melted from their body at his words. See? There was nothing to worry about! Villain nodded, though it wasn’t very effective with the hammer under their chin.
“Of course, sir.” Villain said, moving to grab the bag. The hammer stopped them, this time lightly on their cheek, turning their attention back to Supervillain. Something else hid behind Supervillain’s eyes now, like glittering amusement.
“I’m not finished. When you return the bag, I want you to grab the other for me.”
Villain’s brows drew down over their eyes. “The other bag, sir?”
“Yes,” Supervillain said with a grin. His eyes seemed to glisten with malice, drawing Villain further and further into their crystal blue depths. “Your toolkit.”
Villain stiffened. Supervillain’s smile cut into his face.
“And bring it back here, hmm? I think you’re right, Vil. I think we need to get information from him. Leader seems like a tough nut to crack, but, well, I don’t have to tell you that. You probably know all the things that make him tick. Where to poke and prod, and slice.”
Villain’s hands started shaking at their sides, which they quickly balled, trying to hide the tremble from Supervillain. The reluctance. Fuck. Fuck!
Supervillain wanted Villain to torture Leader… that is not what he meant when he said interrogate him! Villain was just trying to come up with a way that would leave Leader still breathing.
Because you care for him, a nasty voice said in the back of Villain’s head. Even after everything, you still care for him, and Supervillain knows.
This is a test.
Villain nodded again. “I couldn’t agree more, sir. Leader would never turn on his team without incentive.”
Supervillain hummed his approval, dropping the hammer from Villain’s cheek. “My, my Villain. You’re going after the whole team now. I didn’t know you could be so vicious.”
Villain inclined their head, a coy smile on their lips that made themself sick. “Of course you did, sir. It’s one of the reasons you keep me around.”
“We’ll see, won’t we?” Supervillain’s smile was pleasant. His words held a very thinly veiled threat. We’ll see if you stay around after torturing Leader. “Don’t be long! I can’t wait to see this.”
Villain didn’t trust their voice so they nodded. It seemed satisfactory enough. Villain grabbed the bag and walked to the door, cranking it open and stepping out. They froze as the door closed behind them, for just a second. They had to do this. They had to do this. They had to torture Leader, or else they would both end up on Supervillain’s to-be-killed list.
Villain didn’t want to end up in a cell next to Leader. Not with how hard they worked to climb the ranks of Supervillain’s organisation. Not to mention some of the enemies Villain had made here who would just love to see them taken down a peg. Reduced to nothing, another prisoner for them to torture. No, Villain refused to put themself in that position. Not even Leader would get in their way of that.
They took their time bringing the bag back to the medbay, grateful that it was on the other side of the bunker, closer to the entrance. It made sense if anyone got injured in the field, but… it was also closer to Villain’s room. Or rather, their workshop, as Supervillain called it.
Villain’s footsteps seemed to echo down the halls, bouncing off the walls and back to their ears, as loud as gunshots. They shouldn’t have tried to help Leader in the first place! What kind of idiot were they? Healing a prisoner? One that Supervillain had personally seen to! They let their emotions get in the way once, they were not about to make the same mistake twice.
Villain opened the door to their workshop. It was a glorified shed of a room with all different torture devices hung perfectly on the wall. Everything was even from the hooks to the actual tools; sorted in groups that made sense to Villain, whips and blunt objects on one side, knives in a group of their own, and miscellaneous others, like tasers and pliers on the other.
Villain glared at the objects now, bending and grabbing his leather bag from under the metal table. Their mutinous brain was working against them, cataloging all the different things that would make Leader break. The knives were Villain’s favourite, but they doubted Leader would break under that kind of pain. It stung, but only for a little while. Still… It was Villain’s specialty and Supervillain would raise his brows if Villain came back without any.
Villain packed a few, and their nasty whip that left their victims screaming and sobbing in their restraints, begging for mercy.
Villain froze as a horrible thought crossed their mind. Leader would turn into one of their victims now. One of their actual victims. Villain was going to have to make Leader beg and plead and cry and scream— they screwed their eyes shut trying to scrub the image from their mind.
It would soon be undeniably in front of them as they caused the damage anyways. They just needed to retreat to that unemotional recess in their brain. Turn on survival mode, just do what they needed to do and hate themselves later for it.
It would be easy, they told themselves. Maybe if they told themselves that enough, they might actually start to believe it. Well… they could live in hope.
“Knock, knock,” Villain straightened, their back going rigid at the voice. “Hey Vil, I saw you sneak into your friend’s room earlier. Are you bringing them something to keep them entertained while they visit?”
Villain turned, not bothering to hide the look of revulsion that appeared on their face whenever they saw Rival. Rival was the definition of a piece of shit personified. He was tall, a creep that made Villain’s skin crawl, and handsome which automatically gave him a licence to be the world’s leading expert on how to not respect people’s boundaries. Rival thought everyone was in love with him, and could give a masterclass on: how to be a bastard while sucking up to your superiors.
“Yeah. Do you want to come? I can beat the shit out of you while they watch, that should keep them entertained.”
Rival smiled his horrible, handsome smile. He had to bend slightly to step through the door into Villain’s workshop. Villain glared at him as he walked over to the wall of knives and took one between his fingers.
“Oh, how I’d love to come and watch…” Rival said, shooting Villain a sideways glance. “You know how much I love to watch you work.”
Villain’s nose scrunched up in distaste. “You ratted me out to Supervillain.”
“Ratted you out? No. Never,” Rival said, turning his body to Villain’s and stepped closer. Rival pressed the flat of the blade under Villain’s chin, tilting their head up to look him in the eye. He had chocolate brown eyes that reminded Villain a little of Medic’s, but where Medic’s were cold and logical, Rival’s were a sickening kind of warm. “Supervillain just asked about your whereabouts and I told him the last place I saw you was in the medbay.”
Villain’s glare turned cutting. “Oh don’t look at me like that, Vil,” Rival said with a pout. “We’re on the same team here.”
Rival stepped impossibly closer, forcing Villain’s head up at an uncomfortable angle. “Why is it you can get along with everyone else but me, hmm?”
Villain’s arm twitched up but they stopped when they felt the blade knick their throat. Rival’s eyes got brighter as Villain felt a bead of blood surface.
“Maybe because not everyone here is a creep like you.”
Rival smirked down at Villain. “It’s just the two of us here, Vil,” Rival said with a honeyed voice, dragging the blade up, tracing the outline of Villain’s skull with the tip of the dagger. Rival’s hand replaced the blade at Villain’s throat, tightening when Villain tried to step away. “You like all the attention I give you. Admit it.”
Villain swallowed, feeling the weight of Rival’s hand like a collar as they did.
“Supervillain’s expecting me,” is all Villain replied, expression blank. The corner of Rival’s lips twitched up, but he let Villain go. Villain went back to packing their bag, as if Rival wasn’t there.
Villain was glad of the distraction, ignoring the slight tremble in their hands that usually followed an interaction with Rival. They walked over to the chemical cabinet. The drugs that drove Supervillain’s prisoners mad, that heightened all sensation and set nerves alight in agony.
Supervillain was more sadistic than Villain. He liked when people screamed and cried, and writhed in pain. Even when Villain told him it wasn’t necessary to get information. Especially traitors. He liked to sit in and watch them in their lowest moments, screaming and begging for help, for a mercy that Supervillain would never give.
Rival’s eyes never left Villain as they moved about, packing the last of the things they needed in their bag. They grabbed the handles of their bag in one hand, about to zip it up when Rival’s hand slid over Villain’s and stopped them.
“Take this one too, Vil,” Rival said, depositing the knife he used to knick Villain’s throat into the bag. Villain shivered as Rival brushed the small cut on their throat, ignoring his hungry gaze. “Trust me when I say it’s work is delightful.”
Villain didn’t say anything in return. They zipped up the bag and turned away from Rival, only focused on getting away from the monster beside them. Once they stepped out of the corridor of their workshop, Villain put their hand over their mouth and sucked in a startled breath, tears pricking the backs of their eyes. They wanted to be sick, but Supervillain…
Supervillain was… Supervillain was expecting them. They took the moment to gather themselves before straightening again and walking purposefully towards Leader’s cell.
Villain held their head high. They could compartmentalise that encounter until later. Right now they had to be Supervillain’s Villain. Supervillain’s protégé, his in house torture expert and interrogator. They had no time to be regular Villain.
Hell… Villain hadn’t seen that vulnerable side to themselves in a while. Maybe Leader did make them weak. Maybe they would have never reached their potential if they had stayed with Leader… and Medic and Rogue…
They steeled their heart once they turned down the hall of Leader’s cell. Reminiscing wouldn’t help them with what was to come. In fact, it would most likely hurt them and prevent them from doing what they had to do. What needed to be done. Their loyalty to Leader was dead and they had to prove it.
Villain wasn’t an idiot, this was a test. To see when it came down to it, who was Villain really? The pathetic nobody that Leader remembered or a valued member of Supervillain’s organisation?
Not only that, but which one served them better at this moment in time? This was the last thing that Villain wanted to do today, but whatever God that was watching them was a sadistic freak that liked to see Villain suffer. Maybe they deserved Rival’s attention, maybe it was their karma for what they were about to do.
Villain took a breath and opened the door then disappeared inside, the metal cranking closed behind them.

Dead Man Walking
Leader watched the document in front of them blur and sighed. They rubbed their eyes, trying to rid them of the double vision, their head spinning, and body heavy. Their team had been assigned a difficult mission, and they had to make sure everything was ready.
They were so tired, but still had so much to do... But they needed sleep.
They eased out of their chair with a soft grunt, yawning as the world swayed slightly, shuffling to their room. They stiffly pulled off their clothes, getting into their soft pajamas and lying down in their cold, but soft bed.
They instantly felt the aching in their bones ease, their muscles relaxing as they began to shut their eyes, only for a loud, grating alarm to snap them out of their dozing.
With a closed fist, the hit the button to make it shut up, hearing their team begin their morning. Leader groaned as the sat back up, getting to their feet and going out to join them. They could have a nap later.
As they walked into the kitchen, they heard Second in Command say something.
"Hmm?" Leader responded, looking around with bleary eyes.
"I said good morning." Second chuckled. "You look like you slept well."
Leader shrugged, making themself a large coffee, and sitting down at the table. They felt like death warmed up.
"Hey so, what's on the books for today? I know you have that meeting today too. Maybe I should take the others on a drill exercise or something while you do that?"
"Yeah, do whatever you want." Leader mumbled into their coffee, sitting up straighter to avoid their head colliding with the table.
Second narrowed their eyes, looking at Leader.
"Leader..." They whispered, so that no one else could hear. "You okay? You look like shit."
"Just haven't slept much this week... Preparing for the mission." Leader mumbled back, taking another sip of their coffee.
"How much have you slept?" They asked.
"Uhhhh....." Leader frowned as they thought, their brain slow.
"7 hours..."
Second grimaced. "Leader, 7 hours a night isn't enough, especially with the mission coming up."
"No, I mean this week. I've slept for 7 hours."
"You're telling me you've slept an hour a night every night this week?" Second said a little louder, causing everyone to look at Leader.
"It's fine. I was going to catch up on sleep today." Leader lied.
Second nodded, playing along to cover for their friend.
Leader got up, finishing their coffee and stalking away, to their office. Second followed them, watching them sit at their desk and sigh.
Leader stared at the words, but they didn't even make sense anymore. They could barely read the words, let alone make sense of what they were trying to say.
"Leader. You need to rest."
"No, I have too much to do. Don't worry about me, Second, I've managed on less sleep than this."
"I know you were up all last night. You didn't sleep at all." Second accused them. "I heard you walk to your room."
Leader grimaced, their room was next to Second's, and the only one on that end of the compound. of course Second would've known it was them.
"Go to bed for a few days. Rest, I'll handle this, its what I'm here for."
Leader shook their head. "I can't force you to take on this workload. The High Command has been giving me so much to prepare for before the misson and I'm already behind."
"So, tell them you're sick, and let me help you. Please, Leader."
"I'm fine." Leader said firmly. They glanced at their watch. "I have a meeting to get to."
Second watched hopelessly as Leader wandered off towards the front door, disappearing.
~~
"Leader." Everyone greeted the tired looking Leader. They had neatened themself up in the bathroom before they went into the meeting, and at least looked presentable, even if the shadows under their eyes were practically getting their own shadows.
Leader zoned out for most of the meeting, it was a pointless one anyway, talking about meeting quotas and making thing cheaper. Leader nodded along to the pointless graphs and data points, before they got up to leave.
The world swayed, and everything went blurry as they sat back down in the seat. Getting up again, Leader steeled themself, setting their jaw and just focusing on putting one foot in front of the other. They felt like a zombie.
They were almost home when their legs almost dropped out from under them, only for a strong arm to catch them as they fell.
"Idiot." Second grunted, heaving Leader's almost unconscious body up, and steadying them. "I was thinking," They began as they practically dragged Leader towards home. "We should take you on a training mission, get an enemy to knock you out so you get some sleep."
They jostled Leader, who had began slipping from Second's grip, grunting as they hauled Leader's arm over their shoulders.
"You won't need an enemy to knock you out if you keep going like this."
Leader smirked slightly. "You always have creative ideas." They mumbled, as Second got them inside.
The next thing they knew, they were waking up, snuggled in their bed with Medic standing over them, not looking impressed.
"Hey Leader." They started softly. "How you feeling?"
Leader's body felt drained, and heavy, like their bones were made of lead. They couldn't muster the energy to reply.
"Figures, you've been asleep for two days."
Leader's eyes widened, as they tried to sit up. They had so much to catch up on.
"No, stay down. You need sleep, we're handling everything else. Second says all your work is good, and that they'll just finish up the filler paper work while you rest."
Leader lay back, half relieved that they didn't have to move.
"Get some rest, the mission is coming up and we need you at your best."
Leader nodded, their eyes already sliding shut again.
It felt amazing.

The worst part about this situation was that they couldn't see Leader. Separated by a thin wall, the team in one room, and their once proud leader in the next with the villain. Protests, screaming, shouting as their silent Leader was dragged out of their room. Not even five minutes later, the howling set off. Everyone was horrified, Youngest started crying.
All this because of a few raunchy words from the team. The worst part wasn't that they couldn't see Leader, no.
It was how Leader stopped screaming so abruptly.

• Part 1 • Part 2 • Part 3 • Masterlist •
Warnings: inexplicit injury, strangling, military settings.
Leader pulled their legs up, trying to fit into the narrow gap of the bus seat. They hugged their bag, not really liking the fact that it restricted their movements, but also refusing to keep it out of their range. They just wanted to leave before someone changed their mind and sent them back.
The bus filled slowly as Leader sat still. Their muscles tensed quite a little when someone sat next to them, but they covered it as if they were just fixing their position. They wondered if they could ever get used to civilian life after everything. They sighed and relaxed all their muscles, letting go of the tenderness and hoping that it would help with occasional tremors.
When the bus's engine shook the whole vehicle, Leader let their head drop to their bag, their worn-down body begging for their mind to shut down. But as always, they were thinking too much, and it was impossible to sleep with strangers around. They simply kept staring around, trying to ease their suspicion.
Within the first hour on the bus, the majority of passengers fell asleep. Leader wished they were among that crowd, but they never got what they wanted. The seat in front of them leaned back not long after, cramping the small space even more. With a silent curse, they stretched their arms at least, beginning to feel sore already.
They thought that things couldn't get any worse. They were wrong.
After six hours of misery, the bus pulled over absurdly. Leader would hit their head if they weren't so squished to their place.
"Routine control, everyone out," an officer barked through the doors. Leader didn't move immediately, waiting until everyone had gone out and made their way to the officer who looked like they were in charge.
Leader took out their military ID, hoping it would get them a softer approach.
"That's not going to clear you," the officer muttered.
"I only wish to be searched in private," Leader replied. They knew their badge would clear them, but they didn't have the energy to do so. "If that's not much trouble, of course. I don't want to scare people because..." Leader opened their bag slightly, revealing the handle of their gun.
The officer eyed Leader warily before nodding. "Follow me," they said, directing Leader to the back of the police car.
Leader followed silently, gripping their bag tighter as they reached for their wallet to prepare their licence along with their badge marking them as a captain, even though the officer didn't spare a glance at it. The cool night air and the distant murmur of other passengers being searched filled the silence between them.
The officer took the paper as if they were ripping it. Leader was getting a bad feeling, but they didn't want to cause trouble. They were too tired for it anyway. With a sigh, they leaned on the car slightly, trying to get the weight off of their right side.
The officer eyed them, scoffing and muttering something about respect under their breath. They inspected the documents closely, his eyes narrowing as he read the details. "You've been discharged recently?"
"Yes," Leader answered, shortly and perhaps unnecessarily cold.
"Annual leave?"
"Medical leave. I shouldn't be on my feet for too long," Leader almost snarled. The officer - probably didn't notice or just ignored - simply pointed the bag. Leader complied, even if it was the last thing they wanted. They simply looked away, realising that they were truly nowhere. Their eyes were yet to adjust to the lights changing, and the flashers weren't helping, but there was nothing around.
Because that person standing in the middle of the road was just their weary mind playing tricks.
They turned back when the figure dissolved into the air.
The officer searched with such passion that Leader suspected that they had a personal vendetta against the military. Finally, the officer dropped their bag on the bonnet. "Everything seems to be in order. Pack your stuff inside the car."
Leader frowned. "Here will suffice. I'm not getting into the car if you're not arresting me."
"Just get in; I don't want to draw a gun against a soldier, and you seem decent enough to avoid trouble."
Why couldn't they have a peaceful day?
Leader sighed. There was no point in resisting. They quickly tucked everything back in their bag and got into the car. "At least tell me where we are going," they muttered, not bothering with the facade any longer. They were just as annoyed as the officer.
"The military base around here was adamant about receiving you."
Perfect, Leader didn't say. "Routine control my ass," they muttered instead, not able to stop it.
"I am not fit for duty," they informed the officer. Leader didn't think they would ever be, but self-pity wasn't going to get them anywhere.
"Not my problem. Tell that to your people."
Leader sighed quietly - again, they were beginning to develop it as a habit now, much to their annoyance - as they settled into the uncomfortable seat of the police car.
The journey to the military base was silent except for the occasional radio chatter from the officer's walkie-talkie. Leader busied themselves with memorising the names and following the sequence, and surprisingly, they found that they enjoyed listening to some cops trying to catch an amateur thief.
When the car stopped, the officer didn't say anything, but the door lock opened. Leader got out quickly and kept their bag in their hand. It was hard to see somewhere so bustling again. They felt like their mind was tugged with needles from every direction. They cursed their senses not for the first time, and watched as the police car left without a warning.
Leader's shoulders tensed out of their control. They quickly walked to the base, showing their ID to the security. A private escorted them inside, no words exchanged. They were led to an interrogation room, which explained so little but confirmed Leader's worries.
Leader was ushered in without a word. They sat in one of the two chair - to the further one from the door as a sign of trust and acknowledgement of authority - and read the files before them. Their breath caught on their throat when they got to the second, however.
Medic, missing in action.
The team was disbanded. How could...
They flipped the page. They wished they didn't.
"I was going to ask you about that."
Leader flinched. "Major," they greeted with a rushed salute.
And nothing after that happened in a blink. Leader saw Major walking over them with a hostile face. They saw the hand rising and the leg swiping their foot. They saw the other hand starting to move to their stomach.
If the attack is coming from a friend, don't resist.
Just like that. They didn't resist as they were slammed to the floor, their superior on their throat. Leader struggled to breathe as the punch shook their empty stomach, their hands grabbing the hand keeping them down, even though they were not doing anything to stop it.
"Why is your teammate kidnapping your medic?"
What?
"Don't look at me like that. What do you know?"
A punch to their face pulled them from the shock.
"I don't know," Leader forced out.
The hand around their throat tightened—
For once, they wanted to give in to the tempting anger. It would be so easy, so easy to crush the arms holding them, but their wishes never ruled over the will.
They were let go. Major offered them a hand, and Leader accepted it without a second thought.
"I didn't realise that their teachings went that deep. You could easily save yourself. I doubt this base can keep you in."
Leader doubted that too, especially when their restraints were getting loose every moment.
"Some things go deeper than simple teachings," Leader answered after realising that they had drifted for a moment. They pulled the chair and sat down, sighing to release some of the built tension.
"They made you from fine stuff. Now, any idea why one of your teammates went rouge and kidnapped the other?"
Leader's hand began to tremble. It was the worst possible time. They hid their hand with the other rather clumsily, drawing attention.
"Why do you run away from the only place that can fix you?"
"If I'm called back only for these questions, I wish to continue my leave," Leader bit back a harsher response. They would never walk back to the place that had broken them in the first place.
"No. Your leave ends before it starts. I want you back on your team— at least what left of it."

Mini Whump Prompt 113
"Whumpee?", Caretaker loomed over the recliner. They knew something was wrong at an instant. Despite gloating over the win of getting that piece furniture, Caretaker hasn't even witnessed Whumpee sitting in it once. Come to think of it, do they even sit down?
Whumpee, still head to toe in their daily formal wear, slept away uncomfortably, face red and drenched in sweat.
"Whumpee.", Caretaker prodded at first, before turning to jostling, letting out a nervous laugh at Whumpee's limpness. "C'mon, you of all people know it's not funny to play around like this... Whumpee?"

A leader whose strength has always been his team. He never had people that he felt so connected to before, people who he trusted would always have his six, who he could be vulnerable around, who would never leave him behind.
Until they do.
He can only watch as eyes that once looked at him with belief, with a gaze that told him that they were always on his side, turned to disgust. When hands that once stitched his wounds and massaged sore muscles are the same ones that hold the whip to hurt him, fists that beat him and draw blood. Arms that had once hugged him when he needed warmth are the same pair that hold him still as he's branded as a traitor for something that he had never done.
It had been so easy for them to turn on him, as if all those years together spent by the fire, bonding over food and banter meant nothing.
The leader who they had once loved like a brother lays in the basement cellars, starved and cold and sick. He stopped eating, only ever partially conscious when they torture him for information that he does not have. They keep him there while the wounds they inflicted fester and slowly kill him, all hoping that he'll at least survive to see the day that his proper punishment is dealt.
But then the real traitor steps up out of guilt, after seeing what had been done to the man that had been falsely accused. After they had seen a good man treated as though he was worth less than the dirt on the bottom of his team's boots when all he ever did in his life was for his people.
The leader, broken and dying on a hospital bed, lives just a few moments long enough to hear the apologies of his team, his brothers and sisters. Cries that beg him to pull through as though they hadn't been the very ones who put him here.
Still, he forgives them.
Taking a few more weak breaths as the world that has always failed him finally gives him mercy.

"You like to think of yourself as a hero. A saviour."
"Not in as many words, but yeah! Maybe I do think I'm doing some good in this godforsaken world!" Leader bit out, struggling against their bonds.
Whumper scoffed. "Of course. But you know what I think? You're just a silly little shepherd, sending their lambs to the slaughter."

Whumptober No. 13
Team as a Family
Familial Curse // Multiple Whumpees // “Death will do us part.” (Set It Off, Partner's In Crime)
*~*~*~*~*
Whumpee was the team’s ace in the hole. Their trump card for whenever the team got into too tight a spot of bother. He hadn’t even been an original member of the team. It was a chance encounter one day when Villain’s team attacked Whumpee’s favourite coffee shop, where he had been waiting in line, scrolling on his phone, minding his own business.
Time stopped and Whumpee looked up, frowning as the patrons and the noise all melted away into silence. Whumpee narrowed his eyes, scoffing and looked around. He heard voices outside his local and stomped out of the queue, throwing the door open to see Villain performing an evil monologue to Team Leader and the other members who were frozen mid fight.
“And there’s—”
“Hey! Asshole!” Whumpee yelled, rolling up his sleeves. Villain stopped short, his brain short circuiting and glanced over at Whumpee. Whumpee kept advancing on Villain without a care in the world, tapping his watch on his wrist. “You gonna wrap this up anytime soon? I’m missing my first coffee of the day here.”
Villain blinked at Whumpee. “How are you moving?”
“Probably from fucking anger at not having my caffeine intake for this time of the morning! Now are you gonna reset time or do I have to kick your arse to get what I want?”
Villain looked at Leader and scoffed. “Can you believe this guy?”
Whumpee cracked his knuckles. “Fine. The hard way.”
Needless to say, time restarted and Whumpee got his coffee after he was finished with Villain. After he had sat down at the coffee shop he noticed Leader walk in, searching the room for Whumpee. When her eyes landed on him she smiled a bright grin and walked over. He merely raised an unimpressed brow at her.
“Howdy.”
“Not interested.”
Her demeanour dimmed. “You don’t even know—”
“You want to convince me to be a hero. Not happening.”
Her smile returned as she slid into the booth. “Actually I wanted to buy you a coffee to thank you for today. It’s not everyday a citizen steps in to help us.”
“Shouldn’t it be the other way around?”
“It usually is,” she replied candidly, despite Whumpee’s hostility towards her. “Though Villain just keeps coming at us with new tricks that are impossible to counter or predict.”
“My heart bleeds.”
Leader tilted her head, her warm smile still on her face. Blue eyes bright and glimmering with cat like interest. “How come you were able to move through his time freeze?”
Whumpee shrugged. “Just lucky I guess.”
Leader’s smile sharpened. “You don’t play coy very well.”
Whumpee stared at Leader, and Leader stared at Whumpee. The silence between them filled with the bustling of the cafe, of traffic outside the window and footsteps falling on the pavement.
“Tell you what,” Leader said eventually. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a card, sliding it across the desk to Whumpee. Whumpee didn’t even look at it. “If you decide you want to amount to something more than you are right now, call me. I’ll show you around the base, no strings attached, show you how we operate.”
Whumpee nodded though he had no intention of ever calling. Leader smiled. “Good. Great meeting you—?”
Whumpee stared at her blankly. Leader got to her feet, head dipping. “Do I not even get your name?”
“It’s Whumpee,” Whumpee said, though he didn’t know why he offered it. It’s not like he owed her anything.
“Nice meeting you, Whumpee. I’m Leader. I hope you call.”
And Whumpee did call, eventually. After he realised his talents were being wasted on him, that the world would benefit if he put himself out there. Defending the city from villainous threats and crimes.
The family he found in the team was an added bonus. The camaraderie and friendship and being needed and wanted by others, it was addictive and he coveted it. He wanted to lock it all down in his chest and never let them go, never stop loving them and being loved in return.
It was supposed to be a simple mission. Other Villain and his crew were attacking the docks. Other Villain was easy to manage most of the time, but Nemesis? Nemesis wasn’t supposed to show up. They didn’t have any intel that Nemesis was even in the city, which is exactly what Nemesis had been counting on judging by the smirk on his face when he appeared.
Second’s eyes blew wide and he turned to shout in warning when Other Villain blew sleep dust into his face, grabbing Second’s face and slamming their hand over his mouth to keep him from screaming. Whumpee sensed them before he saw them.
He turned and Nemesis was grinning at him. The last time Whumpee had seen Nemesis he had just helped Leader defeat him. Whumpee remembered Nemesis’s yellow eyes locking onto him with interest. It was the first time Whumpee had exposed himself during a fight with a villain who got away in the end.
“So nice to see you again, Whumpee!”
That drew the rest of the team’s attention. Rogue was the first to turn and advance on Other Villain who dropped Second’s unconscious body to the floor.
“Rogue! Don’t!” Leader cried and Rogue froze, their lips pulling back into a snarl.
Whumpee stepped out of cover finally. He was caught, and he walked over to Leader, standing tall beside her.
“You shouldn’t be here,” Leader said to Nemesis. His yellow eyes flashed with mirth, and a horrible knowing that sent Whumpee’s guts twisting themselves into knots.
“Oh, I know. I was away on business, retrieving something for our dear friend Whumpee here.”
Whumpee knew it was true before he said it. He could feel something, something he hadn’t felt in a long time. A draw of magic, pulling at him, like a moth to a flame, guiding him back to the source. But that… that couldn’t be… they were dead. Nemesis must have done something to make them feel this.
But how? A voice in his head asked. How would he know?
“Walk away, Nemesis. Unless you want us to flatten you again,” Medic growled. Nemesis laughed.
“You flatten me? You couldn’t do it before Whumpee here, Medic. The freak, the abomination.” Whumpee swallowed the lump in his throat at the words. They still stung, even after all these years. He was an abomination. A magical anomaly. Magic had no effect on him. Pyrokinetics couldn’t burn him, Time wielders couldn’t freeze him. Other Villain’s sleep dust didn’t put him down.
A chill carried on the breeze caused a shiver to run down his spine. Whumpee sucked in a breath and turned on his heel, towards the source, towards the flame and he froze.
“Besides, I’m doing a good deed, Heroes. Reuniting family.”
Whumpee stared at the man in front of him. He was older than Whumpee remembered, jeez, he must be in his thirties now, but there he was. His brother. His hair was longer, and he had a stubbly beard, but he still had the same weathered stormy eyes.
“Whumper?” Whumpee whispered, his voice cracking. Whumpee took a step forward. “Is this real? Are you— are you really—?”
“I’m real, Whumpee.” Whumper said. His voice low, raspy, as if he had emerged from a forge that was billowing smoke into his throat all day. “I’m alive.”
Tears sprung to Whumpee’s eyes. “I thought… oh my god. I thought you were all dead. I thought— how are you alive?”
Whumpee stumbled forward as he spoke, closing the distance between them. Leader grabbed his arm, stopping him in his tracks. He snapped his head towards her, betrayal painting his features. “Whumpee. He’s here with them.”
“He’s my brother.”
“I know.”
“You can’t— let me go, Leader.”
“She’s right, Whumpee.”
Whumpee looked back at Whumper. He had straightened. The dark strands of hair that weren’t tied back into a bun at the back of his head obscured his eyes, making him look more menacing. Whumpee stopped struggling against Leader. He even fell back a step.
“Whumper?” Whumpee asked. His voice terribly small.
“Whumper was kind enough to follow me back once he found out what you were doing here, Whumpee.” Nemesis said behind Whumpee. “Running around with heroes. What would your dear uncle think?”
“Fuck the king,” Whumpee growled, ripping his arm out of Leader’s grip. “He didn’t do anything for me when he found out what happened to us, Whumper. You can’t side with Nemesis! I’m your blood. I’m your little brother, you— I looked up to you.”
Whumper levelled his gaze to catch Whumpee’s eyes in his snare. The weathered grey turned bright like headlights and Whumpee couldn’t look away. “I’m sorry it has to be this way.”
“Whumpee what—” Leader began at the same time that Whumpee pushed her back behind him and said, “get behind me!”
Whumper spoke the old tongue and Whumpee screamed as a spear of pain shot through his temples. He reached up and grabbed his temples, trying to walk through the pain but on his third step it became too much and his leg faltered. Whumpee fell to one knee but shot up again.
“Whumper!” Whumpee cried, gasping as he fell again. There was a hand on him and he could feel more than hear Leader speaking to him.
“Don’t bother, Leader,” Nemesis said as a particularly piercing scream came from Whumpee. Leader turned, glaring over her shoulder at Nemesis. He was closer now, strutting tall towards the pair. “Whumper told me of a certain curse on Whumpee’s family. Royalty, did you know that?”
Leader glanced down at Whumpee who was panting, eyes screwed shut and trembling. No, Leader thought, she didn’t know that.
Nemesis continued. “There’s a myth about the first royals. Two brothers. One who could resist magic, the other who could control it. Can you guess which one ruled in the end?”
“Whumper! Please,” Whumpee cried. Then he went boneless and Leader got pulled down with him. He stared unblinking at the sky, tremors ripping through him every few seconds. A hand grabbed Leader by the hair and yanked her back to her feet.
She clawed at Nemesis’s grip but he didn’t falter, his other arm wrapping around her throat and squeezing. She struggled to get out from under him, but he pushed her back flush against his front. She could only watch helplessly as Whumper advanced on a barely conscious Whumpee.
“Thank you for your assistance, Whumper.” Nemesis said with a smile. Whumper grunted in response as he crouched beside Whumpee.
“Don’t touch him!” Leader spat, kicking at Whumper and barely missing him as Nemesis yanked her backwards before her foot could make contact.
“Don’t worry about him, Leader,” Nemesis cooed. “You’re coming with me.”
Leader threw her weight forward suddenly, but Nemesis recovered quickly and this time when he grabbed her he started to squeeze her throat. She struggled in his grip, but that only tired her out quicker. The last thing she saw was Whumper throwing Whumpee over his shoulder and turning his back on her.
“That’s it Leader, just relax.”
No air got to her lungs and she succumbed to darkness that brushed her vision, her eyes shuttering close in the arms of her enemy.

Because this is my current fic and I'm rotating my blorbo inside my head*
A leader whumpee who has abandonment issues, so they try really hard to be there for their team, to the point where it's self-destructive.
Maybe they were exiled from their community. Maybe their parents let them down. Maybe they're an orphan, and never had anyone care for them. Maybe they're incredibly afraid of the people they love being harmed in some way. So when they get older, and they're surrounded by people who they care about, they dedicate themselves to them, because that's all they wanted as a child. They always just stop shy of throwing away their life to save their friends, but if the situation came about, they'd do it. Literally "ride or die". Sometimes it scares the team with how much Leader will do for them just to ensure they're safe, healthy, and happy.
But as a result, Leader is terrified that their team will not care for them in the same manner. When Whumper kidnaps them, they can't help but think their team won't come for them. Everyone else in their life prior to that never came when they asked for help. And when Whumper whispers in their ear that nobody will save them, after a while they start to believe it. Days turns to weeks, or months, and they steadily lose hope that anyone is coming to save them.
This can lead down two paths:
1) their team doesn't come for them. Whether it takes them to long go find Whumpee, or Whumpee manages to escape on their own, their worries are validated. The team is excited to see Whumpee safe and sound, but Whumpee seems... Different, now. They don't offer a helping hand, and they begrudgingly will protect them during a fight, but... The dedication just isn't there. Whumpee grows more and more distant until their team confronts them. And Leader Whumpee breaks down, yelling at them for not rescuing them, that all this time they thought their team would care. It takes a lot of time to convince Leader Whumpee that they were looking for them, that they used every trick and connection they shared to find them.
2) their team DOES come for them. They rescue Leader Whumpee and care for them. But Whumpee doesn't quite believe it's real. It takes quite a bit of convincing to tell their leader that yes, they care about them, they'd always come to help, to relax and be the one looked after for a change. Bonus points if they tell Whumpee this when they're incredibly feverish, and the realization that they DO care just causes all the stress to leave their body, and they collapse because they know they're safe and loved.
Just... Ugh. I love it. That's why I'm writing it.
*I have aphantasia and cannot actually rotate blorbo in my head, so that's why you get this post
