Do you have voice claims for the main pjo/hoo characters or any of the Riordanverse character?
[edit] I came up with these while extremely sleep deprived so take them with a grain of salt
So fun fact: I listened to the tlt musical way before reading tlt for the first time so while reading the first five, the main characters’ voices were just— the musical ones lol
(Mr D’s is not — but I don’t have a voice claim for him he just sounds like Mr D in my head I can’t explain it lol)
Others (and this is strictly based on voices, like if we’re casting for an animated show or something idk):
Leo: Camilo from Encanto would be a good bet - they have that same vibe yk
Reyna: I feel like maybe a young Idina Menzel perhaps?
Piper: please do not take this the wrong way I love Piper but Lea Michelle is the one that comes to mind. Girly (I’m gonna need her to be girly so she can overcome Not Like Other Girls syndrome) and she can carry a tune.
Jason: This one is tough. I could see a Peter Parker or perhaps a Barbie animated movie prince kind of voice?? I say it with love but when I read Jason’s lines I kinda just go to Generic Ken lol [Edit: consider Zac Efron in his Troy Bolton era]
Coach Hedge: Danny Devito for coach hedge send tweet. Second pick: The dad whose name I can’t remember from Mitchells vs the Machines. Dad voice.
Apollo/ Lester: In Apollo form I am begging for Ryan Gosling (I know he’s probably considered too old but I think a meta joke about Apollo taking the form after Ryan bc he was such a heartthrob would be funny also he’s Ryan Gosling. ((He is still a heartthrob but he had a bit of a hiatus between the notebook and barbie yk)) In his Lester form: voice only is gonna have to be Noel from Ride The Cyclone. Shout out to whoever voice claimed him for Lester on tt — truly a divine (heh) choice. For fancast I would love to see Dominic Sessa. Case in point: The broken arm scene in The Holdovers.
Meg my beloved: Vanellope from Wreck It Ralph. Rip Meg Mccaffrey you would’ve loved Wreck It Ralph.
I’m out of voiceclaims atm but I’ll end it with this: I’m manifesting Nick Kroll as Tantalus in S2 and if we’re getting HOO as a series I petition Nish Kumar for Bacchus. Thank you for your time.
(I actually have a lot of fancasts for the gods etc so maybe I’ll do a post about that if anyone is interested lol)
#are these good?#i cant tell#they’re certainly there!#youre welcome#voice claims#asks and answers#pjo#pjo hoo toa

Hell no we are not letting this OFMD finale distract from that THIS LETTER.
Had a signature from Taika Waititi. I understand the sensitivity here this issue with Taika being Jewish(and that’s not my place as someone that’s Not Jewish or in those regions to condemn him on that perspective’s behalf) but this letter is directly bastardizing the situation.
Now, when there is a major production from a major figure in this platform that did this, is when we can make the most impact. Remember our values, even when those values involve a show that is strengthening the LGBTQ community.
Because this letter tore down the strength of the movement in support of Gaza. There are going to be so many people that saw this letter and take it completely uncritically, unchallenged.
Standing up for our values means sacrificing our interests, holding accountable the things we enjoy.
And also. I don’t want to see ANYONE. Being fucking antisemitic or racist towards Taika here. That is never appropriate and absolutely inexcusable behavior. You should he ashamed if you think that’s okay even after Taika’s actions.
[Text of Letter]
October 23, 2023
Dear President Biden, We are heartened by Friday's release of the two American hostages, Judith Ranaan and her daughter Natalie Ranaan and by today's release of two Israelis, Nurit Cooper and
Yocheved Lifshitz, whose husbands remain in captivity. But our relief is tempered by our overwhelming concern that 220 innocent people,
including 30 children, remain captive by terrorists, threatened with torture and death.
They were taken by Hamas in the savage massacre of October 7, where over 1,400
Israelis were slaughtered - women raped, families burned alive, and infants beheaded. Thank you for your unshakable moral conviction, leadership, and support for the Jewish people, who have been terrorized by Hamas since the group's founding over 35 years ago, and for the Palestinians, who have also been terrorized, oppressed, and victimized
by Hamas for the last 17 years that the group has been governing Gaza. We all want the same thing: Freedom for Israelis and Palestinians to live side by side in peace. Freedom from the brutal violence spread by Hamas. And most urgently, in this
moment, freedom for the hostages. We urge everyone to not rest until all hostages are released. No hostage can be left behind. Whether American, Argentinian, Australian, Azerbaijani, Brazilian, British, Canadian, Chilean, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Eritrean, Filipino, French, German, Indian, Israeli, Italian, Kazakh, Mexican, Panamanian, Paraguayan, Peruvian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, South African, Spanish, Sri Lankan, Thai, Ukrainian,
Uzbekistani or otherwise, we need to bring them home.
Sincerely,

WAR AT HOME.
Military spy Arthur Lester is sent behind enemy lines with two simple directives: learn more about the enemy's most decorated fighter pilot, John Doe, and investigate what it is about their fleet of ships that makes them so special. He learns all that and so much more, entangling himself deeper and more profoundly than he ever intended.
Read it on AO3!
This is the piece I wrote for the Malevolent Madness Mixup challenge, @malevolentmadnessmixup! Our prompts were "Aliens" for the AU setting and "Secret Identity" for the trope, and let me tell you, Lea ( @iconiccookie ) and I came up with WAY more world building, lore, and plot than I managed to cram in here! I had an absolute blast working together, the collaboration was SO fun and rewarding to bring to life. We hope you enjoy!

Lea Bertucci — Of Shadow and Substance (Self-released)
More so than any of my other music, I don’t feel that these works belong to me,” Bertucci writes. “There is something about them that is beyond myself as an individual and provides, if anything, a brief glimpse into what it is to be human in what feels like these waning days of the Anthropocene.”
Based in New York, Lea Bertucci is a multi-talented artist, using electronics with live instruments in performances and installations. She specializes in multi-channel audio work in active acoustic spaces. Bertucci’s latest LP, Of Shadow and Substance, uses live instruments — strings, harp and percussion — expanded with electronics. The album’s motto is: “dissonance, drone, and dynamics.” It’s a perfect summation, but digging deeper, there’s much to be revealed.
The sense of surround is limited by stereo reproduction, but Bertucci renders the music as close as one can get with reverberant atmosphere and swooping lines. Both of the pieces are tuned in just intonation with sweet thirds but a limited amount of in tune fifths. The first track, “Vapours,” is performed by Quartetto Maurice: Alina and Georgia Privitiera, Francesco Vernero, and Laura Bertolino. It is quasi-improvisational, and the quartet was encouraged to visualize two senses of the word “vapors:” vapor appearing in the air, and the hysterics of women (an archaic expression). The outer sections focus on the first idea, with a hectic portrayal of the second in the middle sections. The hardening and elsewhere expansion of sounds with electronics never makes the acoustic nature of the instruments seem indistinct.
“Of Shadow and Substance,” the recording’s second piece, is a reference to an episode from the TV series The Twilight Zone. It was commissioned by the ARS Nova Workshop in Philadelphia. A different ensemble performs here — double bassist Henry Fraser, cellist Lester St. Louis, harpist Lucia Stravros, and percussionist Matt Evans. Of the work, Bertucci says, “This piece measures the accumulation of events over glacial periods of time as a metaphor for social and environmental shifts. It is a meditation on time travel, asking the listener to consider the way events from the past propel themselves into the future.”
The way these disparate strands are united involves the telescoping of motives. The strings move through full multi-stops to harmonics and scordatura. The reappearance of each of these textures gives one the sense of aforementioned time travel. Halfway through, bass octaves in the strings accompany bleeps that could populate another early TV series, Star Trek. Aphoristic harp phrases and periodic percussion provide another layer. Upper register harmonics, bowing behind the bridge, and electronics are accompanied by rustling harp and percussion. The juxtaposition of this high selection of sounds and the imposition of low bass notes and reemergence of regular bass drum beats has brought the piece around to a jigsaw puzzle of a recapitulation. Percussion moves to eighth notes and a pure fifth appears above the bass, reframing the verticals to shimmer with overtones. High harp pizzicatos and morse code electronic sounds move to the foreground. A just flatted seventh in the cello provides still another trajectory through the overtones and delicious dissonances against the drone bass. The last section reestablishes pure fifth and octave in the strings while sine tones accentuate the resulting harmonics. A long denouement ensues, moving towards an inexorable niente.
Bertucci’s work continues to develop. Of Shadow and Substance presents two facets of “drone, dissonance, and dynamics” that speak with eloquence, treading lightly but palpably on extra-musical concerns.

Farmers of color plan to appeal a recent federal court judge’s ruling, which they say is a continuation of Jim Crow and erases their commitment to right the historical wrongs against them.
Six months ago, John Boyd Jr., Kara Boyd, Lester Bonner, and Princess Williams filed a class-action lawsuit against the U.S. government, including the United States Department of Agriculture. The farmers alleged the government broke its promise when it failed to pay the eligible debt for farmers of color because Congress repealed a $4 billion debt relief program for socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers — which includes Black, Native American, Hispanic, and Asian communities.
Instead, they created a race neutral program to replace it, which the plaintiffs say was a “blatant attempt to skirt its contractual commitments” to them and other farmers. As a result, farmers can’t pay off their debts, according to the lawsuit.
“They have to know that this is a continuation of Jim Crow, and a continuation of what free Black men and women went through in this country. This is a continuation of that because we see it as another broken promise,” Boyd Jr., president of the National Black Farmers Association, said last week. “Just like my forefathers, I ain’t giving up the fight.”
The U.S. Justice Department argued in a March 10 filing that the legislation established the financial assistance program, “not contractual undertakings.” The department asked for the complaint to be dismissed for “failure to state a plausible claim for relief.”
Senior Judge Edward J. Damich for the United States Court of Federal Claims agreed in an April 27 opinion, saying there wasn’t an expressed or implied-in-fact contractual agreement between the farmers and the federal agency.
“Instead, the program reflects Congress’ intent only to “declare a policy to be pursued until the legislature shall ordain otherwise,” not an intent “to create private contractual or vested rights,” Damich wrote.
The original loan forgiveness program at the center of the complaint passed in March 2021 as part of the American Rescue Plan Act, offering up to 120% of the outstanding indebtedness to address historical inequities and funding disparities by the USDA.
Black farmers saw this as the first step to repair the broken relationship with the federal government, especially after the landmark Pigford v. Glickman, a class-action lawsuit alleging the USDA discriminated against Black farmers from 1983 to 1997 when they applied for federal financial assistance, and failed to respond to complaints of discrimination. The court approved a settlement in 1999. While some Black farmers received payments, thousands did not because of confusing paperwork, filing deadlines, denials of claims, processing issues and attorney malpractice, NPR reported.
In June 2021, the same month the USDA planned to start loan payments to eligible borrowers, a judge issued a restraining order on the program in response to a lawsuit brought by a group of white farmers alleging that debt relief racially discriminated against them.
“The discrimination is just not with the USDA. It also goes deep into the court system,” farmer Corey Lea told Capital B in December. “It’s crazy how the white farmers got it done within 30 days and Black farmers, if they get any justice at all — most of the time, no — they’re in [the courtroom] for years. It’s a systemic problem.”
Rather than implement the existing loan forgiveness program, the Inflation Reduction Act, which was signed into law last year, replaced it with assistance for a broader group of “distressed borrowers.”
The act provides $125 million for technical assistance regarding food, agriculture, and agricultural credit to underserved farmers, ranchers, or forest landowners, including those living in high poverty areas. Another program provides $2.2 billion for farmers who have experienced discrimination prior to January 2021 by the Agriculture Department’s farm lending programs. Recipients can receive up to $500,000 each.
In September, all parties agreed to dismiss the lawsuit in response to the Inflation Reduction Act. A month later, Boyd Jr. filed suit. He said the relief from the original program in the American Rescue Plan Act would’ve made a big difference in helping farmers to wipe their slate clean — especially for Bonner and Williams, who have struggled to make ends meet or pay off mounting bills.
“This administration … just abandoned us, left us out there high and dry. That’s why I turned to the courts,” Boyd Jr. said.

because we're crap at keeping information organized, here's a very fast rundown for anyone wondering "okay but what's this multimuse blog doing in the miraculous fandom specifically":
Koppi (octopus kwami of Imitation) and his initial holder(s) Thunderbolt system (aka the Leclairs) are OCs created for our fanfic Tales of Many, which we really gotta get back on writing the finale of <.<
Each headmate has their own text color; Achille is blue, Celine is pink, Jade is green, Leo/Lea is orange (canonically yellow but tumblr thinks yellow sucks)
that fanfic also contains Céleste, a friend of theirs who also gets involved in the Shenanigans™. She doesn't have a text color yet but we'll give her one at some point
the Elakha family (Vivi and her daughter Hitomi) and Hallie are OCs we originally made for other purposes but they got Miraculous crossover'd into our friend's fic Maris Stella because it's fun to put your little guys into situations
Hitomi holds the Horse Miraculous and Hallie holds the Tiger Miraculous. usually. there's always shenanigans lol
Lester has never even been Miraculous crossover'd yet but they're so associated with Hallie that we can't just leave him out lol

i think this is a really good mix, and I haven’t felt too confident in my mixes in a while. if i’m honest, theres this person who i think is very cool and cute and i made this mix with them in mind although i really know absolutely nothing about them. anyway, if you listen, i suggest listening chronologically.
#song#music#i am gonna make this into an actual mixtape#so that i draw a cover for it and stuff#and then i think i will just give it to someone random#so if you want it hmu lmao#abi reimold#cat stevens#yusuf#gillian welch#connie converse#robert lester folsom#indigo sparke#sg goodman#jessica lea mayfield#christelle bofale#emily yacina#merce lemon#buck meek#sheryl crow#patty loveless#phoebe bridgers#nina simone#prince#dolly parton#feist#mine
