Iceland in 1300km - Canyons, Craters, and Geothermal Wonders
Our first 3 days of the 7 Days Complete Iceland Tour saw us went on the Golden Circle circuit, followed by ice caving on Iceland’s biggest ice cap. As we move northwards and away from the touristy Reykjavik, we saw more rugged natural landscapes and took a dip in a geothermal pool surrounded by a frozen lake and the serene mountains. Moving on to the 4th day of our tour around Iceland, we…

Latest eruption at Sundhnúkur on the Reykjanes Peninsula, Iceland. 22.03.2024
Taken during a helicopter flight over the volcanic region - this was and still is the only way to see the eruption as the area is completely closed off to public.
This was a dream come true and a very last minute, and emotional trip. I’m so grateful that I could go 🌋🇮🇸❤️

Volcanoes And Us
Amazing scenes have been unfolding on the TV screen recently, the Earth itself cracking wide open as bright orange fire laps around buildings and rivers of molten lava surge with unstoppable power through the darkness. This is, of course, the latest eruption in Iceland, the land of fire and ice, captured live and beamed in graphic detail straight to our news channels. Michaela and I have always…

Maui Part #4, Hoapili Trail – Lava Fields, HI
The next day, we went on another hike that was in a totally different environment than the day before. This time, we were hiking trough old lava fields. It’s unbelievable how endless this area seems to be. The trail starts at the shore and you pass some small beaches and can find old corals in the sand. Once you continue walking along the trails, you get further and further into the lava field. A very unique hiking experience!

Landmannalaugar
Landmannalaugar is a location in Iceland's Fjallabak Nature Reserve in the Highlands. It is on the edge of the Laugahraun lava field. This lava field was formed by an eruption in approximately 1477. It is largely known for its natural geothermal hot springs and surrounding landscape.

Julian: "I mean Howard Moon's an idiot, he's a pretentious fool and I love to take the piss out of it. We have similar interests, I like jazz and poetry, but these things draw idiots to them and he's like that. I suppose Noel is more like Vince, he's got the whole pop star image and he carries it off, he looks fantastic. My look, well, I just look like a tramp.”

The jagged, desolate landscape of El Malais is a volcanologist’s playground. A million years of volcanic activity sculpted the landscape. Numerous volcanoes and several lava flows generated the field of lava. The most recent volcanic activity was about 800 years ago. There are five layers of lava from McCartys Crater, Bandera Crater, Cerro Hoya, El Calderon, and Twin Craters, with a variety of volcanoes and volcanic features represented within the flows.
