Lately Kind of Yeah - Motor Grown-up (VULP-0226)
Part of the Lately Kind of Yeah archive series.
For my ears, Lately Kind of Yeah and evocations of nature come packaged as one, accompanying or even transcending literal lyrical interpretations or impressions one might scoop from track titles. Melodies plod like footsteps on dunes; guitar riffs swirl through crunching distortion like leaves in a windstorm. Looping vocals become the benevolent mantra of waves rolling against the shore, especially notable in the release's centerpiece, "Zones" — let it wash over you.

Dan has been more touchy with Phil since their comeback, but I specifically feel like in the last few videos he’s been EXTREMELY touchy! The door is opening more and more🚪👀
yeah........ dan is soooo calculated is the thing. phil is more likely to be touchy without thinking about it too much, but dan is like... he's so hyper aware. when he's getting extra touchy you know it's on purpose, it's deliberate, they are Up To Something

my stardew farmer ^_^ he doesnt have a green thumb for shit so he keeps animals and does mining
some tidbits i came up with while playing hehe
reclusive and doesnt really go out of his way to talk or visit people unless its an errand. but he also doesnt try to befriend others to get something out of it, so he has a very easygoing approach to making friends. on good terms with linus and sebastian since he runs into them most often.
if he respects or takes a liking to someone, he'll greet them with miss/mister (name). if you get close to him he starts using first name basis. if he doesn't like you, he'll refer to you by your title without using your name. only a few people have caught on to this.
the farm he inherited, Milky Way Farm, was the site of a meteorite crash and sometimes you can find shards of meteor debris littered around the farm (i picked the hilltop farm bc of this lol)
lost his sweater and pants a long ass time ago and doesnt have the time to look for them, so hes been working in his sleep clothes ever since
isnt actually grandpa's real heir to the farm... ;)

Hey so I'm not trying to be rude are anything, I'm just curious, how old are you??? Again I mean this just out of curiosity. BTW LOVE your work
Thank you so much! Hahah all good it doesn’t bother me and I understand the importance of transparency especially online. I’m 40 years old, which I guess in the grand scheme isn’t OLD-old, but it kind of is in comparison to the vast majority within the Rise community. Though I have pleasantly met a lot of fellow old school creatives, many more than I would have anticipated. The rest tend to consider me a cool auntie. It’s why I like to make my sona look like a little ol’ cat lady!

People are waaay too comfortable being rude to artists online nowadays. Like why is it so common to say hurtful things, and those hurtful things are encouraged?
‘Your rendition of this character is wrong, here I fixed it! (:’ *10k likes*
‘Why does the character look like…that’
‘You still have time to delete this’
Like??? I used to post poorly drawn, badly dressed Naruto OC’s when I was 13 and everyone was so kind and positive even though I know they were awful. I’d get eaten alive if I were posting those today

Lately Kind of Yeah - Zozo (VULP-0225)
Part of the Lately Kind of Yeah archive series.
Zozo is a unique work in the LKOY catalog, comprised of songs recorded as part of a weekly exercise. Balanced between crunchy distortion and frosty ambient elements, the flow of Zozo is reminiscent of the transition between a particularly hot autumn and crisp winter. Gentle serenity trades off with barrages of heavy guitar attacks. Various vocal textures are on display; sweet clarity, aggressive screams, and whispers. Guitar artistry is evident throughout, with kaleidoscopic freakout passages punctuated with more spectral instrumentation, perhaps the peak of LKOY’s achievement in instrumentation, which is saying a great deal for this dynamic, disciplined artist who has been part of the Vulpiano family for over a decade.
Words from the artist:
