I do not know when will be the last
But I will keep singing, looking at your smile
Enjoying the moment together our hands intertwined
So until that time comes...

Fontaine Boys: Calling them by their names
Lyney
This guy pretty much made it a thing after you started using pet names that you no longer knew a Lyney, only a baby, sweetie, honey, sugar, etc. So, don't think that pulling this prank will go over his head or that he'll let you off easy for trying to tease him like this. Because Lyney? He will never forget this injustice until he can return that favor tenfold
When you say it, just as he is leaving for work/practice with Lynette, he stalls in the hallway as he tries to process what you just did to him, because surely his sweet, loving, and gorgeous lover would never stop using his pet names without a justifiable reason. This man goes through 4 stages of grief in .2 seconds and basically sprints to the nearest calendar to see the date, anniversary, or birthday he surely must've forgotten
Because, surely, he missed something, right? right?
"Love... did I forget something?" Lyney sounds so different from usual. Almost panicked really.
This can go one of two ways:
If you can keep a straight face and keep calling him Lyney he gets more and more panicked, basically begging at your feet to tell him what he did to deserve such cold, heartless, and diabolical treatment until you give and tell him its a prank
If you can't keep a straight face Lyney can see the devious little smile on your face and pretty much gawks at you in disbelief
either way it ends with him giving you a taste of your own medicine for the rest of the day. Because really, how could you do this to him right before his practice?
So if you can't handle that, don't do that to Lyney because he can be just as teasing and mean about it no matter how much he loves you, and if you keep it up through the whole day too he will continue it into the next day until you stop
or maybe he'll do something about that attitude of yours? ;)
Freminet
Are you a monster?
Genuinely why would you do this to him after all the work it took to get him to accept and also call you petnames?
Fremi thinks the world is ending tbh. He was on his way out to go diving and you just??? dropped this on him?? Are you breaking up with him?? Is he in trouble?? Please tell him it is a prank immediately or he will cry
Just like his brother he rushes to a calendar and checks every box to make sure he didn't miss anything today and for the last month or so just to be sure. And the panic that sets in when he sees that he didn't, now he's really sure you're about to say you don't love him anymore
It doesn't even matter if you can keep a straight face or not because he is in full panic mode and can't think straight enough to see that you're just pulling his leg
This poor boy is taking off his backpack and shoes and either sitting across from you or standing right in front of you with the most pitiful face asking you what's wrong
"My little marintine rose.... y/n honey....what's wrong? Did I... make you angry? Is it the diving? You can come with me, you know I love it when you come with me" Cue the biggest puppy eyes with tears
Please tell him soon that this is just a prank because again, he can and will cry if you keep this up any longer than a few minutes.
Neuvillette
He deadass walks out the door and takes a few minutes outside before he turns around and makes his way back inside calmly. Neuvillette is positive he misheard. His mind is playing tricks, or maybe he's getting old and his hearing is failing him because there is no way you just called him Neuvillette, his full government name, and not Neuvi, baby, honey, love, or something like that
He'd even accept a weird pet name like your fridge or your little hilichurl
The thing about Neuvillette is he knows he didn't forget anything. He will not rush to a calendar or even think to do so because he remembers everything you tell him, even things you say in passing. Like that dress you told him about 2 months ago, or the cute sea otter that you said reminded you of him
"Mon amour.... my love, my life, I think I forgot to tell you that I love you and that I'm leaving" He tries to play it cool, Nevi thinks if he can pretend he forgot to say anything that you'll correct yourself
When you don't, you're pretty sure you can hear thunder rumble in the distance as a storm tries to roll in
Say it's a prank right now or it'll storm for a week straight, he may be a big and tough dragon but he cannot handle this from you
If you crack and smile or start laughing Neuvi is not pleased, he's not pleased regardless when you reveal it's a prank
The storm is rolling in for different reasons now
He won't play the prank back on you but expect some long, displeased stares and some major frowns from him
You almost made his heart beat out of his chest in panic
Wriothesley
Wriothesley almost laughs when you call him by his full name and not at least a Wrio
like there is no way he doesn't know you're being a menace right now
so please be prepared for the entire next week because Wrio is ruthless when it comes to payback and he will get his just desserts
I mean really, Wrio is vicious when it comes to throwing this back in your face
"Oh hey there y/n, buddy, pal, my best friend" for a week straight...
So rude....
He will tell you upfront before he leaves for work when you do this that since he's just some guy you know now that he'll call you his friend from now on
and he will just walk right out the door after that. Not even a glance back or a teasing smirk, just leaves the house and goes to work unbothered for the rest of the day
that's what you think anyway, even though he knows this is a prank he actually is really bothered and talks to Sigwennie about what happened and he's pouting and sulking at work
even the inmates at the fortress can see that their boss is bothered by something
Please say sorry soon and start calling him his cute pet names or he's going to struggle at work and Sigwinne can't deal with this for anymore than a day because Wrio can be insufferable

A/N: ty anon for this request! i hope i did it justice...GUYS I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED THE OG POST THIS IS A REPOST ;(
love song
-> Drew x F!Singer!Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Proposal
The ocean hums against the shore, steady and soft, a quiet rhythm beneath the twinkling string lights hanging from the deck. The air is warm, tinged with salt and the lingering scent of Drew’s cologne as he leans against the railing, watching you.
You’re sitting cross-legged on a lounge chair, wrapped in one of his hoodies, scrolling absentmindedly through your phone. The two of you have spent the last few days here. Just the two of you, no schedules, no press, no flashing cameras. Just this.
“Alright, I gotta ask,” Drew says, pushing off the railing and walking toward you, hands in his pockets. “If you had to pick one place, just one, to stay forever, where would it be?”
You tilt your head, narrowing your eyes at him. “That’s an unfair question.”
“How so?”
You let out a breathy laugh, shaking your head. “Because it’s not about the place, Drew.” You glance up at him then, something soft in your expression. “It’s about who’s there with me.”
His lips twitch, like he’s holding back a secret. “Yeah?”
You nod, smiling. “Yeah.”
Drew exhales through his nose, dropping into a crouch in front of you, forearms resting on your knees. His fingers trace absentminded circles on your skin, but there’s a weight to his gaze, an intensity that makes your stomach flip.
“You mean that?”
You arch a brow, amused. “Obviously.”
His throat bobs. “Good.”
And then, before you can register what’s happening, he’s reaching into his pocket, pulling out a small, velvet box, and everything slows.
Your breath catches. Your fingers tighten slightly in the fabric of his hoodie.
Drew doesn’t look nervous, not in the obvious way, at least. There’s no stammering, no shaky hands. But his eyes: they’re sharp, clear, completely locked on yours like this moment is the only thing that’s ever mattered.
“Four years,” he murmurs. “Four years of you ruining every movie twist before I see it, of me stealing your fries even when you tell me to get my own, of waking up next to you and realizing that I never wanna wake up any other way.” His voice dips, quieter now. “Four years of knowing that no matter where we are, no matter what city, what set, what stage, you’re it for me.”
Your vision blurs.
Drew swallows once, then flips the box open, revealing the ring inside: a perfect reflection of you, simple and stunning all at once.
“So,” he continues, his lips quirking up slightly, voice as steady as ever. “What do you say? Wanna make it forever?”
For the first time in your life, words fail you.
Your throat locks up, heart hammering, hands covering your mouth as you nod, frantic, overwhelmed, so in love.
Drew grins, exhaling in relief, sliding the ring onto your finger before pulling you into him, his arms tight around your waist, your hands fisting in his hair, laughter and tears tangling together as he kisses you like he never plans on stopping.
And maybe he doesn’t.
Because this—this—is forever.
...
You’re still getting used to the weight of it.
The ring.
It’s strange, in the best way… how something so small can feel so big, how every time your fingers graze over the cool metal, your stomach flips all over again. You catch yourself staring at it, twisting it between your fingers, pressing your thumb against the band like you’re making sure it’s real.
Drew notices.
Of course, he notices.
“You gonna keep looking at it like that forever?” he teases one night, stretched out on the couch beside you. His arm is draped lazily over the back of the cushions, one knee bent, his other hand absentmindedly trailing up and down your leg.
You roll your eyes, but the blush creeping up your neck gives you away. “Shut up.”
His grin is lazy, knowing. “Never.”
It’s been a week. Seven whole days of just you and him and this thing you haven’t told anyone yet. It’s exhilarating, having this little world between the two of you, one that no cameras, no interviews, no screaming fans can touch.
But the world is already starting to catch on.
The first sign? The photos.
A blurry paparazzi shot of the two of you leaving a restaurant: Drew’s hand in yours, the faintest glimpse of the ring visible as your fingers thread together. The internet explodes.
Tumblr media
Then, the interviews.
“Drew, fans have been noticing a certain… accessory on your girlfriend’s hand. Any comment?”
Drew, smirking slightly, his blue eyes flickering just once toward the camera: “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
The clip goes viral in minutes.
Tumblr media
Then there’s the way he looks at you.
Not that it’s anything new, Drew has always looked at you like you hung the stars. But now, there’s a different weight to it. Like he’s carrying a secret so big it’s practically burning a hole in his chest.
“You two seem… extra happy lately,” one of your closest friends notes one night over dinner, their eyes narrowing slightly in suspicion.
You and Drew exchange a quick glance. His lips twitch.
And then he just shrugs, stealing a fry from your plate like it’s nothing. “Maybe we’re just happy people.”
You bite back a smile.
The best part? The teasing.
“You sure you don’t have something to tell us?” Your manager asks as you walk onto set for a photoshoot, eyeing your hands.
You just hum, tucking your ring under your sleeve. “You’ll see.”
Drew sees the clip later.
“You’ll see?” he mimics that night in bed, shaking with laughter as he pulls you into his chest.
You slap his arm, cheeks burning. “Shut up.”
But he just kisses the side of your head, voice warm and teasing against your skin.
“Not a chance, fiancée.”
And that? That word?
Yeah, you could keep this secret just a little longer.
The stadium vibrates with energy. Thousands of fans screaming your name, lights flashing, the deep bass thrumming through the floor beneath your feet. You can feel it…every heartbeat, every ounce of excitement, every electric second leading up to this moment.
And Drew?
He’s somewhere out there, tucked away in the VIP section, watching you like he always does, like you’re the only person in the room.
You push your hair back, gripping the mic with both hands, trying to steady the ridiculous pounding in your chest. You’re used to being on stage. This should be second nature. But tonight?
Tonight is different.
You exhale, smiling as the cheers settle just enough for you to speak.
“So, uh…” You pause, shifting on your feet, pretending to think. “I had this whole speech planned, but, let’s be real, I’m terrible at sticking to the script.”
Laughter ripples through the crowd.
You bite your lip, glancing down at your left hand, the ring catching in the stage lights, flashing as you twist it absentmindedly. The second you do, the crowd erupts again, screams surging like a tidal wave.
You laugh, shaking your head. “Okay, okay… so you guys have noticed.”
A mix of cheers, gasps, a few dramatic oh my gods from the front rows. You glance toward where Drew is sitting, and sure enough, he’s smirking, arms crossed, shaking his head at you like I knew you couldn’t keep a secret.
You roll your eyes at him before turning back to the mic.
“I guess there’s no point in being all mysterious, huh?” You pause, taking a breath before grinning. “Drew asked me to marry him.”
The stadium detonates.
The screams are deafening, an overwhelming wave of shock and excitement. Hands fly up, phones recording every second, some fans jumping up and down like they just got engaged. Your cheeks hurt from smiling, heart hammering as you look back toward Drew.
He’s laughing, rubbing a hand over his face, definitely blushing but trying to play it cool. When your eyes meet, he just gives you that look: the one that says I love you without saying a word.
You turn back to the mic, laughing breathlessly. “So, I did what any songwriter would do… I wrote a song about it.”
More screams.
You shift your grip on the mic stand, fingers tapping against the cool metal. “This one’s for you, Drew. And for anyone who’s ever been lucky enough to find their person.”
Then, the first chords ring out—soft, slow, intimate—and the crowd falls into a hush, waiting, breathless, as you sing the first words.
And Drew?
He doesn’t take his eyes off you.
Not for a single second.
The music swells, the first few notes drifting into the air, and the stadium listens.
It’s rare, this kind of quiet in a crowd so massive. But something about this moment, about this song, makes everyone pause. Like they know it’s different. Like they feel it.
And Drew?
He’s completely still.
His usual easy smirk is gone, replaced by something softer, something real. His blue eyes shine under the stage lights, lips slightly parted like he’s memorizing every second, every note, every word.
You don’t take your eyes off him as you sing.
Not when the chorus swells, not when your voice shakes just a little from how much this means. And especially not when he exhales sharply, shaking his head just a little, like he can’t believe you wrote this for him.
By the time the last note fades, the world is silent for a beat, like the whole stadium is holding its breath.
And then?
Then it erupts.
Screams, cheers, a roar of sound as you step back from the mic, breathless, heart pounding. But you barely hear it… because all you can see is him.
Drew, standing now. Hand in his hair, laughing in disbelief, eyes so damn full of love it nearly knocks the air from your lungs.
And when your eyes meet again, you swear
It feels just like saying yes all over again.
The internet detonates.
Within minutes, clips of your announcement, the song, and Drew’s stunned reaction are everywhere. Fans dissect everything: the way your voice trembled on certain lyrics, the way Drew looked like he forgot how to breathe, the way your ring flashed under the stage lights.
“THIS is what love looks like.” “She wrote him a whole damn love song. We’re witnessing HISTORY.” “Drew Starkey, you are the luckiest man ALIVE.”
Edits flood social media: slow-motion close-ups of Drew’s reaction, the exact moment his lips parted, the way he ran a hand through his hair like he was trying not to lose it. Side-by-sides of the proposal announcement and his past interviews, where he’d dodged engagement rumors with a smirk and a cryptic “you’ll see.”
And now?
Now everyone sees.
Outside the venue, paparazzi swarm. Flashes explode as security guides you both toward the car, hands locked tight, matching rings catching the light. Drew doesn’t even flinch, just tugs you in closer, keeping a steady hand on your lower back as you slip inside the car.
The second the doors shut, the world goes quiet.
The only sound is your breath, still a little uneven, your heart still hammering from the adrenaline.
Drew exhales, leaning back against the seat, one arm draped over the backrest as he looks at you. Really looks at you.
“You really wrote that for me?” His voice is quiet, almost disbelieving.
You turn to him, fingers tracing the edge of your ring, and smile.
“Of course.”
Drew just shakes his head, grinning like he doesn’t know what to do with himself. Then, without a word, he reaches over, laces his fingers through yours, and brings your hand to his lips.
And in the hush of the car, away from the cameras and the noise, he presses a slow, lingering kiss to the ring on your finger.
Like he’s still trying to believe it’s real.

summary releasing your new single at your party and drew surprises you by singing your new single in front of everyone.
warning(s) cursing, singing, surprises, and whole lotta cuteness coming from drew.
Tumblr media
Tonight is your party celebration for your new single⎯love again⎯you were so excited to release this new single because it’s about you falling in love again after your previous breakup.
Being with Drew has made you see the true meaning of love and devotion for someone. You two make each other better.
When you first enter your home, you will notice pastel gold, white, and black balloons hanging from the ceiling on white strings. Music is playing from the DJ in the other room, where the majority of people will be. Food and drinks are ready in the kitchen.
Everything was perfect.
Throughout the party, everyone came walking up expressing how excited they're to listen to your song for the first time. Drew was by your side the whole night⎯showering you with love in the most subtle yet meaningful ways.
"Truly Y/N, I cannot express how proud I am of you." As your best friend puts her arms around your side and gives you a side hug, she exclaims.
Your face lights up as you say, "This is why you're my best friend!"
Shortly after, you walked towards the small stage to make a quick announcement before playing the song. You were filled with emotions.
"Hello everyone, just in a few moments, you all will listen to my newest single for the first time," you emphasize on the last two words. Everyone cheered. "This song means so much to me and I cannot wait for you all to listen..." Your expression says, "this is love again."
The chorus begins filling the room. Your eyes meet Drew's immediately. He pulls you into his embrace, keeping you secure. Using both hands to pull your hair behind your ears, staring at you before saying, "I don't know how I ever got so lucky to call you mine."
But goddmamn, you got me in love again.
Everyone's faces reflected their respect for the entire song as it played. Singing, dancing, and anything else. Tonight, you felt so valued. Drew had a surprise for you that you weren't prepared for.
As you’re mid-laugh with a friend, the music suddenly shifts, and you hear the unmistakable opening notes of your song. Your eyebrows knit in confusion at first. That’s odd⎯you hadn’t planned on playing it again. But then you hear a familiar voice singing.
"Shut the fuck up" you exclaim, covering your mouth with your non-drinking hand. You turn to see Drew standing there, holding a microphone, inhaling deeply before he sings the opening line.
There he stood, singing your song you wrote about him. Hear Drew sing it? It is something else entirely. It's overwhelming, yet in the greatest manner conceivable.
You don't typically see Drew sing like this but it warms ur heart.
The room began to fill up everyone singing along⎯even though they didn't know the song word for word, they sang. You could feel tears forming in the corners of your eyes. Magical night.
"I'm at loss of words, I had no idea you were gonna do that. You never fail to impress me. Maybe you should sing more often with that voice of yours" you playfully smile to Drew as he stood in front of you.
"Yeah I know, I'm just that good," he says dramatically, "on a serious note, I love you so much, and that was an idea of mine because you mean so much to me"

What are some screwball comedy pairings you wish had been a thing? Can definitely be gay ones :)
Okay finally!
One of the reasons I made this blog in the first place is that few things bring me as much blinding rage as imagining the movies we could have gotten, if old Hollywood had stopped being racist/homophobic/anti-everyone for ten fucking seconds. There were so many talented hotties working through our tournament era who only got cameo spots or no-budget movies! for no reason beyond white supremacy! there were so many stories that didn't get told because heaven forbid we acknowledge gay people! If this blog has a mission statement, a big chunk of it would be about highlighting all the amazing hotties who never got what they deserved in their heyday.
So! Let's tear Louis B. Mayer a new one and make some better movies.
Diamond Eyes (1946)
Harold Nicholas, the bored but fabulous son of a Manhattan millionaire, decides to take himself off on a transatlantic cruise to recover from the boredoms of socialites, constant martinis, and west side glamor. When working girl Rita Hayworth snags him into a fake dating scheme to throw off a jealous ex (Cesar Romero), he doesn't mean to fall in love with his false fiancé—or to set the ex up with his scheming accountant (Tyrone Power).
To the Tune of Millions (1945)
Ann Miller and Lena Horne are conwomen besties who use a fake dance act to get into casinos, which they then promptly rob. Unfortunately, an over-enthusiastic talent agent (Gene Kelly) sees the act and thinks they're legitimate, hiring them on the spot as the lead number in a newly opened but already failing musicale review. Who can they hustle at a theater that's barely bringing in a dime? The two ex-cons fall in love with show business, Kelly and Horne smooch at the grand finale, and Miller has an intense will-they-or-won't-they sparring relationship with the hot stage manager (Ethel Waters—and they will).
Untitled Three's-a-Crowd Film (1942)
Cary Grant, Jean Arthur, and Ronald Colman are running interference on a corrupt justice system while trying to keep up the act that they are all simply cohabitating in a shared AirBnB and definitely not falling in love with each other. Wait. This is actually The Talk of the Town. This movie actually exists and does veer this hard into polyamorous romance.
Tomatoes and Toast (1928)
Anna May Wong and Greta Garbo eat sandwiches for three hours. It's riveting.
One Soul, Two Bodies (1948)
Farley Granger and Vincent Price star as Alexander the Great and Hephaestion in this sword-and-sandals period piece. Though clearly made on a studio backlot with a budget of $3, the dashing romance grounds the chariot races and cardboard sword battle sequences.
Grand Central Station (1931)
Interconnected narratives of Josephine Baker, Joan Blondell, Dolores del Río, and Fredric March all vying for the last seat on the 5:45 train out to Poughkeepsie. When they realize they're jostling to sit next to the same sugar daddy who's been stringing all of them along, the four decide to unionize. Pre-code thrills; the four-in-a-bunk Pullman car scene remains notable for a reason.
I have more but I think I've gone a bit delirious.

first chances ~ blurb ‧₊˚
Tumblr media
୨ ୧ ˚₊ pairing ~ jude bellingham x reader
summary: Jude having a conversation with his friends leads you to make a heart-breaking revelation
TEARS FOUGHT FOR first place in destroying your carefully completed eye makeup. You couldn’t help but feel there was a bet going on inside of you as to what would get you to break first, the competition lying between anger or sadness.
“I really just don’t understand.” Jude’s words were hesitant to form a sentence. They treated you as though you were a delicate piece of pottery. One that he had just thrown onto the ground.
Folding your lips into one another, you were careful with your next move. The last thing you wanted to do right then was embarrass yourself any more than you already had.
“You are playing the innocence card, perfect.” You mumbled the words under your breath forcing him to lean in so he could catch the last of their appearance.
“I didn’t know I had any other cards to play.” He was quick in his response, leaving no time for the tension to settle in. “But if you told me what I have done to make you upset, maybe I would be able to choose between them more wisely.”
With a scoff, you averted your gaze from him to somewhere far simpler. The confusion that was repelling from his body getting to be too much.
Your hands were dancing with another arrhythmically in a desperate attempt to stop your furious emotions from taking control over you. They were a distraction gifted to you on a silver platter. But they only lasted so long before his thinking was over.
“Come on, tell me. Then I can make it right.”
The harsh wind blew in from your side, shouting down upon your unprepared shoulders as the light fog of summers frozen breath descended from the sky.
You took a final deep breath before you allowed the words to slip over from your now chapped lips. “I heard you and your friends talking, wasn’t trying to eavesdrop but the conversation managed to get interesting.”
Tension began its reign. The look of shock mixing with horror like it was the easiest made cocktail formed on his face. Words attempted at an explanation but all failed, freezing up just as they made their way onto the stage.
There was nothing you could do but stand and watch, your stomach yet to pick itself off the dirtied floor.
Jude tried multiple different routes of explanation, but none made the cut against his harsh criticism. “I didn’t think it would ever go this far.”
What he had opted for did little to console you. It built a new wave of embarrassment to wash you away with though this time acceptance had managed to talk its way into being able to take its place.
“What because you are a more decent guy than that?” Laughter bubbled over from your overwhelmed body. “The fact is that you were willing to do this to someone you had never met. For what? A slap on the back from your mates?”
His head began to vigorously shake, denying all your accusations with haste. He knew they were true; he knew you knew they were true, but he was desperate.
“It was just to go on a date and-.” The explanation he was trying to get across to you didn’t make it long.
“I don’t care.” You began as you finally looked back in his direction. “What was this going to cause except from hurt? Even if it was the slightest bit.”
He closed his eyes, bringing up his hands so he could capture his hair in them. There was nothing more that you had ever desired than to walk up to him and tell him an apology was all you needed because you knew he would give you that. But somewhere in you refused to accept that, fighting onwards.
“Tell me what I can do to make it up to you and I will do ten times that.” Jude pleaded whilst he allowed you to see his tear-stained face. You took it in, staring with a harshness that you never thought you could give.
“Give me a second chance so I can make sure you don’t regret giving me the first.”
Your body was beginning to give in, your knees aching at the possibility of taking a mere two steps so you could be in his arms once again.
That part of you however still managed to hold out. “I do regret it though. You didn’t even want it in the first place, I was nothing but a bet to you!”
Jude took a step forward, but you were quick in taking one back, forming a boundary that he had to listen to.
“Don’t reduce yourself to that. You were always so much more to me than-.” He paused at the end. As though he was in denial to say what he had done.
“A bet. You may as well say it, you did it.” Your snappiness was beginning to form a bite on it. One that had him flinching.
The exit you had formed for yourself since the start was beginning to come in handy, small, calculated steps beginning to form a distance between the two of you. A similar one to which you had thought you would never have to set in place.
“I’m not an idiot and I have self-respect. It’s no one’s fault but your own that you are in this situation, so you need to accept that.” Desperation reached down the back of your throat, clawing its way down with no remorse.
“Let me fix this.” He tried once again but noticed that lack of dents he was forming in the wall you had built.
“Goodbye Jude.”
The gap was like one formed between two separate continents and neither of you were strong swimmers. So, he watched in slow motion as your figure retreated, the calls of his friends echoing beside him. Not even a hand firmly shaking his shoulder could break his eyes from you.
Although you no longer stood there, your location now being something he didn’t have the right to know.

I was so wrapped up in my thoughts and fears that I didn't bother noting where I was going. All of Eregion was safe, so it didn't truly matter which pathway I took. However, it still would have been wise to do so.
Wisdom wasn't exactly the foremost concern in my mind at that moment. Court whispers, idle gossip, occupational politics...those had unfortunately taken center stage as I hurried through - was I in Eregion's gardens? Grudgingly, I supposed that the hedges were a dead giveaway that I'd somehow wandered into them without realizing. I'd been drawn to them countless times over the decades that I'd lived in the city. Ending up there should not have been a surprise.
My mind dwelled - foolishly, perhaps - upon my worries. How was I supposed to ignore what they were saying? It wasn't as if the other healers were trying particularly hard to hide the fact that they despised me for my heritage. After all, in their eyes a Peredhel - one of Half-elven descent - could never do as well as someone who possessed only Elven blood. I'd trained under several of the best healers known to Elvendom, but still that was not enough for the wagging tongues attached to judgmental minds.
All I wanted was to help heal the injured, but because of my status, I was relegated to organizing supplies and sweeping the floors of the infirmary. Had I been given the chance to prove my worth and demonstrate my training, I might have been able to advance further. As it stood, however, I only had a few of the common families of Eregion who trusted me enough to tend to their wounds and ailments.
Despite my situation, I made an effort never to complain. I took what opportunities were offered and made do. After all, if I had complained, not only would I have been seen as ungrateful, but I would've been proven to be, in the eyes of those who disliked me, even weaker than I was already perceived to be. I was allowed to remain in Elven territory. Should that not be enough for one lowly Peredhel?
That didn't stop me from feeling frustrated, though. Overhearing the last of the other healers' insidious comments after a long day was what broke my resolve. As I wandered through the maze of shrubbery, hot tears rolling down my cheeks, I hated that I'd let them bother me this much. Was I truly so weak-minded that I could not handle a few insults? Surely, I must be.
"Are you alright?" A warm but tentative voice called, and I tried to quickly wipe away my tears. Whoever had been kind enough to check on me didn't need to be bothered by a weepy Elleth.
"Yes, of course," I called as I posted on a faux smile and turned to find– "Lord Celebrimbor! Forgive me, hir-nín."
I began to drop into a low, deferential curtsy, but a gentle hand grasped my shoulder, stopping me.
"Please, my lady, there is nothing you have done which requires an apology." Having only seen him from a distance, I'd never spoken to Lord Celebrimbor before. I hadn't expected his voice to be so kind. I looked up, and he smiled at me.
I had never been looked at with such radiant warmth in all my life. Words utterly failed me. I should have said something - anything - but I could not seem to speak.
The light of the setting sun created a golden aura around Lord Celebrimbor's head, making him look like a heavenly being sent by the Valar. For a moment, I forgot all about my frustration and grief.
Those closest to him must scramble for even a few moments with him. How could they not? The greatest of the Elven smiths was also the most attractive Elf I'd ever met.
"There we are," he murmured as my eyes met his. "Would you perhaps like to join me?"
For the first time, I noticed he was holding a plate of lemon cakes. He'd likely come out to the gardens to relax with a sweet treat, only to find a distraught mess instead.
"O-Oh, thank you, my lord, but, truly, I do not wish to intrude," I stammered, but he let out a gentle laugh that made my heart twist in my chest.
"I will not force you, of course, but you should know that I would welcome your company," he said, glancing between myself and the lemon cakes. "Over the years, I have found that something sweet can help lift the spirit. Besides, I don't think I should eat all of these myself. My tailor would be quite cross if he had to replace my entire wardrobe."
I doubted a figure like his could ever be diminished by the insignificance of a few lemon cakes, but the need for friendly companionship was so great within me that I allowed myself to take his not-so-believable excuse at face value.
"Only if you're certain, my lord." His smile widened, and he eagerly led me to a bench nestled between a pair of pink flowering dogwood trees. Once we were seated, I finally took a moment to observe my companion. Wearing deep blue velvet robes, delicately embroidered with beaded leaves and vines, Lord Celebrimbor of Eregion sat beside me with all the gravitas and dignity of a king. His gaze was as soft as his touch had been upon my shoulder.
But he was a lord, and one of the most skilled Elven smiths in history. I was only a Peredhel. No matter how handsome I found him, common people like me did not end up with nobility.
Distracting me from my sobering thoughts, Lord Celebrimbor offered me one of the little iced cakes. I couldn't help but smile at the slices of candied lemon decorating the top.
"I must admit," he murmured as I gratefully took one, "that sweets are somewhat of a weakness of mine. The bakers whose establishments I frequent across the city have become rather aware of the fact that this variety in particular are my favorite. I fear they quite effectively know how to convince me to part with my coin."
That fit him quite well, in my opinion. The brightness of the citrus, the sweetness that tempered the flavor...nothing could have suited his personality more fully. Those cakes were light and sunny, as was he.
After we'd eaten in peace for a time, conversing quietly between ourselves about everything and nothing, Lord Celebrimbor looked at me curiously.
"If you don't wish to discuss it, I promise you are under no obligation to do so, but is there someone to whom I should speak in your defense?" I looked at him in askance, and he gave a small smile. "'Tis heinous behavior to bring such a lovely lady to tears. If there is someone who requires a stern speaking to, please consider my services in that department most humbly offered."
His gaze was so earnest and concerned that I had to avert my own lest I tear up again. None had ever offered to come to my defense before, opting instead to suggest that I grin and bear it, or that I develop a thicker skin as comments like that were to be expected for one of such low, unworthy birth.
"You are very kind, my lord, but, truly, you needn't trouble yourself." I barely dared to look back over at him after a moment's pause. "After all these years, I should have developed a thicker skin."
Celebrimbor wiped his fingers on his handkerchief and leaned a little closer to me, clearly engrossed.
"About what, my lady?"
I hesitated. It was perhaps vain, but I did not relish seeing the kindness in his eyes melt away when he realized with what sort of person he'd been conversing. But there was nothing for it. One did not simply ignore the Lord of Eregion when he asked you a question, especially not when he'd been kind enough to offer you food, comfort, and company. As much as I wanted to run, I remained seated.
"I am Half-elven, my lord," I nearly whispered, dropping my eyes to my lap where I was wringing my hands nervously. "My heritage is...somewhat of a common topic of discussion, especially with regards to my abilities."
"Abilities?" He asked gently, and I nodded my head.
"I am a healer, my lord. I was trained by some of the most skilled Elves I have had the fortune to know," I elaborated. "Truly, I do not mind helping where I can, and if it were a simple matter of my skills not being necessary, I would not be quite so frustrated, but..."
I trailed off, unsure of how to express the rest of my thoughts without sounding pathetic and childish.
"...But you've been overlooked because of who your parents were," he finished sounding somber. "My lady, I am truly sorry that you have had to endure such unjust treatment. None should behave so dishonorably, especially not here in Eregion. After all, in Lindon, our High King's herald is Half-elven. Ability has nothing to do with blood, as my people should be aware. I daresay you've likely heard some unworthy remarks, as well, for which I can only apologize. My people should know better."
I expected pity or disdain when I finally dared to look up at him again, but instead, I found only a reassuring smile and warm eyes skimming my face.
"Thank you, hir-nín, for your kindness. There was no need for you even to speak with me, much less be in my company, but I am so very grateful that you did."
Celebrimbor's smile widened, and he caught one of my hands between both of his. I couldn't help but marvel at how large they were, and how strong the calloused pads of his fingers felt. He must work quite diligently at his craft.
"It has been my honor, I assure you."
He paused, looking unsure as if considering whether he should say what was on his mind.
"Do you know, my lady, I have seen you walking in the gardens before. I should have wished you a good day or stopped to say at least 'good morning,' but I...well, I did not wish to intrude upon your peace," he said, and I looked at him in awe. "You always seem so relaxed when you are amongst nature, strolling through the starlight. Oft in the evenings, I take a break upon the balcony of my tower, and I have the loveliest view of the moonlight cascading down upon you."
He'd seen me before? I hadn't been aware that he knew of my existence, much less remarked upon the walks I took to clear my head.
"I wish I had mustered my courage earlier, however, since I cannot change my prior cowardice, I would like to focus instead upon the future. Might I have the honor of knowing you better?"
How could I have possibly refused? Why would I? That evening had been the start of a friendship that I'd never expected to have. Celebrimbor was always courteous and warm with me, allowing me to see his forge and discussing his work with me.
He never admitted to any involvement, but I suspected that he was the reason why barely a week after our initial conversation I was allowed - finally - to put away my broom in the healers' halls and begin treating patients. Even the cruel whispers and rumors died down to only the most occasional instance.
The Lord of Eregion shared my joy when my skills were begrudgingly praised, delighting especially when one of Lindon's visiting generals bore witness to my work. He was so pleased with how I'd patched up a small squad of his soldiers that I'd received a letter of thanks from the High King himself by royal messenger not long after the general had reported home safely.
Celebrimbor had been so excited for me that he'd sent his smiths and apprentices home early and opened a bottle of wine in celebration. That night, it had been particularly difficult to tamp down my growing admiration for the gorgeous Ellon who'd been so kind to me. Undoubtedly, he'd never feel more for me than friendship, but my heart did not seem to grasp that particular fact. When he finally walked me to my door and bid me sweet dreams, I knew for certain that I was doomed to love one who could never return my feelings. I was content, however, to simply be around him.
As the years passed, I slowly climbed the ranks of Eregion's healers, eventually earning the grudging respect of my peers, and the one person who had believed in me from the start seemed no less proud of me than he had from the beginning. It was not uncommon, of a free evening, to find me curled up in the uppermost room of Eregion's tower, discussing my lord's latest projects or ideas, or sharing herbal tea and something sweet from one of Eregion's bakers.
Eventually, after about a century's residence in Celebrimbor's city, and after having spent about three quarters of that as his friend, he summoned me to his tower during one of my shifts in the healers' halls. That, in itself, was not uncommon. He and his smiths were rather prone to accidents, especially given the nature of their work. Celebrimbor always asked for me personally, and as this time was no exception, I gathered a bag of medical supplies and hurried to see what might have happened.
The Lord of Eregion had been quite consumed by his latest project, and, though it was a rare occurrence, he had not discussed it once with me. I'd thought it strange that he was being so secretive, but after all, he was the Lord of Eregion first and foremost. He owed me no explanations. I thought nothing of it.
When I arrived, however, instead of seeing the forges blazing and the smiths all chattering about their work, I found only Lord Celebrimbor seated beside one of the windows, holding a letter in his hand. His forges were stone cold, and a sad, worried sort of expression played across his face.
"My lord?" I called quietly, hovering in the doorway. I felt as though I was intruding upon something private to which I ought not be a witness, but he had summoned me. I could not keep him waiting. At my quiet question, he looked up and plastered what I easily recognized as a forced smile across his lips. "You asked for me?"
"I did, mellon-nín," he said, gesturing for me to come closer. "Come, sit with me."
I did as he asked, setting my bag at my feet and looking at him curiously as I perched beside him on the divan.
"Are you hurt?" I could see no evidence of an injury, but he'd hidden them quite well before.
"Oh, no. No, forgive me. I hope I did not worry you," he said patting my arm gently. "Actually, this morning I received a rather important letter from High King Gil-Galad."
Silently, he held the folded parchment out to me, and I accepted it carefully. The King's seal was unmistakable upon the outer fold. My eyes skimmed the neat, swirling hand in which he'd penned his missive, and I had to reread it twice before the meaning fully sank in.
Wide-eyed I looked over at Celebrimbor whose smile now reached his eyes. He still looked rather sad, though.
"The High King wishes me to come to Lindon?" I asked feeling rather stunned. "But...why me?"
"From what I understand, he has heard many positive things about you and your skills as a healer from his soldiers and several of his friends," Celebrimbor said as I handed the letter back to him. "He wishes you to train a group of healers so that Lindon will be in good hands as Eregion is."
I was speechless. Only just managing to keep my jaw from dropping, I blinked uncomprehendingly a few times.
"You come highly recommended to him. In fact, he asked for my opinion, and I told him the truth: that you are one of the most skilled healers of your age that I have ever encountered. Your bedside manner puts your patients at ease, and you are able to tend their wounds calmly and skillfully," Celebrimbor continued, setting the letter aside and grasping my hands. "There is no one better for the position, I assure you. You will excel in Lindon as you have here."
Finally forcing my voice to work again, I found myself stammering.
"I...Did the King specify how long I would need to remain there?"
"He said it might take two years, perhaps three," he answered, and as if he could read my thoughts, Celebrimbor tilted my chin up and looked into my eyes. "Eregion will still be here when you return. In any case, it was not a request. It was an order. You shall need to leave in the morning."
"That soon?" I asked feeling nerves start to bubble up within me. I was excited for the opportunity, of course, and honored beyond words that Gil-Galad had asked for me personally, but...the thought of leaving Celebrimbor and my home at such short notice frightened me.
My lord's arms wrapped around me, drawing me into a tight embrace which I returned wholeheartedly. Burying my face against his shoulder, I savored the feeling of being so close to him. I would not get the opportunity again for a long while.
"Stay here with me tonight," he murmured against my scalp, and I nodded my head silently in agreement. The pair of us barely let go of each other, and when we awoke cuddled together on the divan with the morning light streaming across our sleepy faces and rumpled clothes, there were no sufficient words to express all that we felt at this forced parting.
The final glimpse of Eregion's gates as I passed through them atop my horse, flanked on either side by guards, felt terribly final.

Lord Celebrimbor and I had corresponded via messengers since my arrival at Lindon, but shortly after his new forge had been built, his letters had all but ceased. I tried not to let my heartbreak show, but the High King, who had quickly caught on that my feelings for Celebrimbor were slightly more than friendly, noticed immediately.
After one of my meetings with him discussing the progress of his healers-in-training, he called me to a halt as I prepared to take my leave. His herald - my new and very dear friend, Elrond - was still there, but courteously acting as though he could hear neither of our voices as he packed away a stack of parchment.
"My lady, I have no doubt that he is simply caught up in his work," Gil-Galad said as he offered me a softer look than I was accustomed to seeing upon his regal features. "Given how Lord Celebrimbor has spoken of you in the past, he would not give you up so frivolously."
If only I believed he was right. Oh, I did not believe Celebrimbor to be cruel enough to do so, by any stretch of the imagination. I did not, however, believe myself to be important enough to deserve his attention, even after so many years of friendship.
Instead of voicing such concerns, however, I merely thanked the King for his reassurance, bowed my head respectfully, and went back to my duties.
A few silent months later, however, Elrond sought me out in the healers' halls and led me to an urgent meeting with the King. Beside a small table stood High King Gil-Galad and one of his commanders.
"Thank you for coming, my lady," the King said ushering me to a seat. He dismissed his commander, and I looked at him in askance. "I would not normally trouble you, but I'm afraid this concerns you."
I glanced up at Elrond and found a concerned, slightly guilty expression on his face.
"My lady, we believe that Sauron is in Eregion," the King said, and I felt as though I'd been slapped. "His goal is to create rings of power similar to the trio we already have. Naturally, to do this he would need a skilled smith..."
He trailed off, allowing me to come to the conclusion myself, and when I did, my stomach churned.
"Celebrimbor," I breathed, and he nodded his head.
"We are gathering our armies now, preparing to defend the city against another threat, but as we do so, we will also attempt to remove Lord Celebrimbor from Sauron's influence." Much of what the King said afterward was a blur. When he came to my particular duties as a healer, I paid close attention, noting all the preparations which would need to be made rather rapidly.
Before Elrond could leave, I dragged him into a hug and made him promise to be safe. Not long after, the rest of Lindon's army departed, and I was filling my time with work to distract myself from my fears.
--
Waiting for the High King and his soldiers to return was tantamount to torture. I had friends who were risking their lives in this conflict, of course, but even more than that, the fate of Eregion terrified me. The city had been my home for nearly a century, and I was naturally concerned for its people, but I was even moreso for Celebrimbor.
If I dwelled for too long upon that distinction, my own selfishness closed around my throat like a vice, forcing conflicted tears to well up in my eyes. When I thought of his kindness and all that he'd done for me, however, I found it easy to blink them back. I could not find it within myself to feel guilty for my concern over one so gentle and warm.
So, I waited with the other healers, giving orders where I could for casualty preparations, ensuring all of the supplies were well-ordered and accessible to all of us. Our patients would have traversed a long road home, victory or no, and we did not wish to prolong their discomfort any more than was necessary.
Horns blared at the gates a few days later, and we rushed out to receive the soldiers, injured and exhausted as they doubtless were. Fear scraped away inside me when I contemplated how many might have been lost when I saw how somber the mood was.
Tamping down my personal feelings, I moved with the swarm of healers, pulling aside all who were injured and beginning to treat the most serious problems first. We'd been working for only a few hours when a hand landed on my shoulder.
Elrond, dirty, defeated, and utterly bereaved stood at my side.
"Mellon-nín," he breathed, and I wrapped my arms around him. He embraced me fiercely, silent sobs wracking him as he buried his face in the crook of my neck. "Eregion..."
My heart constricted at his tone.
"The city fell," he mourned, and I felt a rising sort of panic.
"Did any escape? The people? The soldiers?" I asked, hesitating before I added, "Lord Celebrimbor?"
His nod against my shoulder brought tears to my own eyes. When he pulled back, he took a deep breath to steady himself.
"The High King wishes to see you. Immediately. You will want to bring supplies with you," Elrond murmured, but I caught sight of blood-soaked fabric peeking out from beneath his armor. I waved one of my best healers over.
"Thank you, mellon-nín. I am glad beyond words to see you returned. I'll go to the King now, but you are not to leave until your injuries have been seen to. No arguments, darling herald."
He gave me a damp smile and acquiesced to my demand after stealing another quick hug.
Tucking into a bag everything that I would need to treat potential injuries inflicted upon the High King, I rushed down the corridors on the heels of the soldier sent to guide me. He would not have sent for me unless it was serious. Instead of finding the King inside, however, he was just outside the door speaking with one of his guards. Gil-Galad dismissed both guards almost as soon as I arrived.
"Thank you for coming with such haste," he said, and as I took him in, he looked dirty, bruised, but otherwise unharmed.
"I was told you required a healer, Your Grace."
"Not I, though I did send for you. Your patient is within. You needn't knock," he said gesturing to the door to his guest's rooms. I made to go inside, but he caught my elbow, drawing me to a gentle stop. "My lady, I should warn you...'tis Lord Celebrimbor."
My heart nearly beat out of my chest with worry.
"How bad is it?" I rasped, and the High King's expression softened.
"Breathe. It is not life-threatening." I nearly fainted with relief, sagging heavily against the wall and allowing my eyelids to flutter shut. Gil-Galad placed a comforting hand upon my shoulder. "He was being held and manipulated by Sauron. He was chained to his forge with unbreakable restraints. The only way he could escape was to...remove one of his thumbs."
My eyes snapped up to meet his in utter horror at what Celebrimbor had been forced to do simply to preserve his own life. Finally, I forced myself to draw a steadying breath.
"Is there any swelling? Inflammation?" I managed to ask, and the King shook his head.
"No, there have been no complications thus far," he said, but he hesitated a moment. "I called for you, not because of the severity of his injury, but because he needs you. He rested only fitfully in his saddle. He called out for you...wept in his sleep."
Me? He'd called out for me?
"You are the greatest comfort he could have, my lady. He may not yet know that he has your love, but he needs it nonetheless."
I straightened as heat spread across my face. Gil-Galad had known of my feelings for Eregion's lord for some time, but we'd never discussed it so openly before. Oh, certainly he'd eluded to the subject before, giving subtle hints and encouragement when our correspondence effectively ended, but this...
"Thank you, Your Grace," I said in the steadiest voice I could manage. I hoped he understood that I didn't just mean for the reassurance. When he bowed his head and took his leave, I faced the door, steeling my nerves as I pulled it open–
And my breath froze in my chest. There, kneeling upon the ground in the middle of the floor, staring out into the sunlit garden, was Lord Celebrimbor. He seemed not to notice my entry. Closing the door behind me, I walked slowly over to him. Seeming both penitent and relieved, Eregion's lord remained stationary as the golden light of day poured across his skin. Dirt, grime, and dried blood covered him, but he was still the loveliest sight I'd ever laid eyes upon.
"My lord?" I murmured quietly, setting aside my bag as I knelt beside him, and with a slow blink, he roused himself from whatever thoughts had so captivated him. Slowly, he turned to face me, and amidst the dirt on his face, there were tear tracks.
His lips parted in surprise when he saw me, and when I offered him a gentle smile, he lifted his uninjured hand, caressing my face as if he could not believe that I was truly there.
I leaned more solidly into his touch, closing my eyes against the rising emotions within me, and a broken sob of my name tore from his lips.
"Y-You're here. You're real," he croaked as he began to weep. I drew him into my arms without a moment's hesitation. Clutching at me as if I might disappear, Celebrimbor fell to pieces in my arms. I could do no more than whisper reassurances and press gentle kisses atop his head.
An Ellon as sweet as he did not deserve to feel as terrible as he clearly did. The urge to smite Sauron - to rend him in half with my bare hands - grew with every tremble of my lord's frame beneath my hands.
In fragments, he spilled the story to me, explaining all that had happened between himself and Sauron - including how he found fragments of one of his letters to me in the corner of his forge where the manipulative bastard had thrown it. Hushing Celebrimbor's subsequent apologies, I ran my fingers gently through his hair, trying to soothe him.
Eventually, his tears dried up, his breathing became steadier, and he lifted his head from my shoulder. Without thought, he cupped my face with both hands. A grimace twisted his features and he began to whisper shame-filled apologies as he pulled his injured hand away.
I caught his wrist carefully, and pressed my own fingertips gently against his lips to silence him. Celebrimbor looked stunned even as his cheeks reddened.
"Have you forgotten that I am a healer, my lord? You needn't apologize. I have seen and treated much worse." His shoulders dropped a small measure at my reassurance, and I turned my attention to his poor hand. At least the cut had been clean. It was already beginning to heal quite nicely, but it would still need a little help. "Truthfully, this is doing quite well. Might I make a suggestion?"
"Anything," he breathed, and the sincerity in his eyes tore at my heart.
"It would be wise for me to give this a preliminary wash, then cover it in a protective layer so that we can get the rest of you clean. Afterward, I should be able to patch you up much easier, but only if that is agreeable to you," I said, but he was already nodding his head.
"Yes. Yes, entirely agreeable," he said beginning to smile tentatively again. "I shall humbly submit to any treatment you think is necessary."
My breath hitched in my throat. How could he still be so trusting even after everything that had happened? I vowed to myself that I would never abuse his trust. I loved him too much to even consider such treachery.
"Let me fetch a basin and send for a bath to be drawn, and I shall be right back," I promised, and he drew a shaky breath as I stood.
I was only apart from him for a few moments, but when I returned with the basin of water and the supplies, he looked up at me like he'd never been happier to see me. The joy radiating from him even beneath the dirt and dried blood covering his skin relaxed a ball of tension that had resided in me since I heard about the threat to him and his city.
He was here. He was alright. And Sauron had not broken that which was most important: his spirit.
Setting everything beside us, I laid a towel across my lap and gently pulled his sleeve back past his elbow. Shuffling a little closer so that neither of us would strain ourselves in the reach, I began to clean his wound, as well as his arm so that he needn't get it wet during his bath.
As I worked, we fell into a companionable silence that was only broken when a few strands of hair fell into my face having escaped my hair ribbon. With a touch lighter than a smith should ever have, Celebrimbor moved them behind my ear, his large, warm fingertip brushing over the point.
He'd never done that before.
I looked up to thank him, and I was taken aback by how close we were to each other. My nose was barely an inch from his. I swallowed heavily, forcing my heart, racing though it was, to remain silent.
"Thank you, my lord," I whispered. His breath caressed my skin, and I forced myself to look back down and finish my task. He did not need to be bothered with a childish infatuation. Why, oh why was professional distance so difficult to maintain around him?
Wrapping a few protective layers over the freshly cleaned wound, I tied it off carefully. It was a bit looser than I would normally make a dressing, but it was only meant to last long enough for a bath.
A knock sounded at the door as I finished up, and that, thankfully, was the announcement that it was ready - apparently the speed was thanks to High King Gil-Galad's foresight. He'd ordered the water drawn and heated when he sent for me, to be delivered when I asked.
Once we were both on our feet, however, Lord Celebrimbor seemed to freeze, nerves playing across his features.
"Is something amiss? Are you in pain?" I asked, but he'd shown no sign of it thus far. He drew a deep breath, his cheeks turning a bright red.
"You needn't do this if you...if this causes you discomfort, I'm certain I could manage." He sounded so embarrassed. At my confused expression, however, he elaborated. "I do not wish to be improper. To force you to see...well, more of me than is decent."
The precious man. Was that all he was worried about?
"There is no need for shame," I murmured, "in my occupation, nudity is as common as leaves on trees. I shall touch you no more than is necessary, and the moment you wish for privacy, you need only tell me, and you shall have it."
Celebrimbor seemed relieved, which wasn't surprising since Sauron had been holding him captive. I doubted he'd been left alone for even a moment.
"I...do not wish to inconvenience you, but I...don't think I..." he stammered as he tried to compose his thoughts. "Washing might be difficult on my own. I should be able to do some myself, but the rest..."
Holding his good hand with my own, I gave him a gentle smile.
"It is no inconvenience, and you should not be made to feel guilty for daring to ask for help." After a brief hesitation he nodded his head.
"In that case, thank you, híril vuin. I would be glad of your assistance," he said allowing me to lead him to the bathroom.
Carefully, I untied the laces of his tunic, easing the fabric from his injured side and apologizing every time I even expected him to twitch in discomfort. His bare chest ought not to have surprised me; he was used to laboring in his forge. His defined musculature was well-earned. Once he was down to just his leggings, he blushed brightly, and he asked if I might step out while he got into the bath. He would still need help washing, so I would need to return, but I could easily grant him that.
"Thank you, my lady. I realize that it is silly for me to ask, but..." he shrugged and trailed off bashfully.
"It is not silly, especially if such a simple thing would help you feel comfortable. Oh, by the way, have you eaten today?"
"I believe so, but...several hours ago." Nodding quietly to myself, I formed a plan.
"Then, I shall have some food sent up. I'll just be in the other room, so when you're ready to wash, call for me," I ordered, and he nodded his head. "Do not be afraid to ask for help should you need it before then."
I expected him to protest, but he agreed easily, allowing me to pat his bare shoulder before I stepped out.
Locating the servant that Gil-Galad had assigned to us, I asked for a dinner tray, along with a plate of lemon cakes and a pot of herbal tea - a sweet combination that I knew Lord Celebrimbor favored.
Though the cakes would not heal his thumb, they were exactly what he needed to lift his spirits. Something familiar that might bring him some comfort.
Ducking back into the bathroom when he called for me, I saw that my patient now lay with his eyes closed and his head resting against the rim of the tub behind him. Injured hand aside, he looked like one of the Valar lounging after a battle - a beautiful, larger-than-life figure in resplendent repose. I almost hated to disturb him.
He'd clearly managed to clean his face and part of his upper body, but his hair and back needed a little attention, along with his right arm. As I approached, I did my best to keep from looking lower than his neck, staunchly ignoring the part of my mind that was too focused on how good he looked while wet.
I moved a stool beside the tub and picked up the washcloth that he'd draped over the rim. When I looked back up at him, Celebrimbor's eyes were already watching me as a small smile stole over his lips.
"May I touch you, mellon-nín?" I asked, keeping my voice low so as not to disturb the calm spell that seemed to have fallen over us both. Had his pupils blown wider, or was that my own wishful thinking?
"Of course, you may. You, of all people, need never ask," he murmured.
"If you want me to stop at any point, tell me, and I swear to you–"
Celebrimbor grasped my hand.
"I know, mîr-nín," he said leaning forward until his damp forehead could meet mine. "I trust you. You have never hurt me, nor would you ever do so."
Drawing in a shaky breath, I allowed my eyelids to flutter shut. He'd never called me his jewel before. Surely, that was a sign of his exhaustion. Celebrimbor always had become softer and more prone to displaying platonic affection when he'd worked for too long, ignoring his own growing fatigue. As much as I wished it had meant more, I knew it never would, but as our breath mingled in this stolen moment, I felt a flicker of hope.
When we eventually pulled far enough apart for me to help him wash up, I tried to focus on the task at hand, rather than the feeling of my lord's muscles beneath my soapy fingers. Although, admittedly, I did allow myself the indulgence of giving him a small scalp massage as I washed his hair, combing my fingertips through his locks until not a single tangle impeded their flow.
Eventually, the water lost its heat, and I fetched a bathrobe and some towels from the side, bringing them closer for his use.
"If you would like me to step out..." I began to offer, but Celebrimbor shook his head.
"No. Truly, I should not have sent you out before. I was...Well, I feel much more like myself, now," he said, "and I have never been afraid of you seeing all of me. You know more of me than any other."
With a gentle smile, I moved the stool I'd been sitting on back to its place in the corner, draped a towel over my arm, and offered my lord my hands. He didn't hesitate to take them. Once he was on his feet, I glanced down to help him step out of the tub and–
Where toned thighs met, I was not at all surprised to see that his endowment was as attractive as the rest of him. And suitably sized.
My eyes met his, and I had no doubt he could tell I'd looked. Professional distance aside, I couldn't help giving him a mischievous smile.
"As I said before: you have no reason to be ashamed," I murmured, hoping that he could hear that which I was too afraid to say - the opinion which I, a mere healer, had no right to hold.
In no time at all, Celebrimbor was dry and wrapped in a soft set of silk robes. We thought it best, as he would be recovering from his ordeal for the next few days at least, to forego higher maintenance garments.
"Lemon cakes?" Celebrimbor asked as he took a seat on the divan that I'd moved farther into the sunlight - he seemed to savor it before. He looked between me and the tray as if attempting to solve a problem. "They're my favorite, but...how did you...?"
I couldn't help but smile as I crushed some herbs in a mortar and pestle, adding in some oils to bind the mixture together.
"You mentioned it the day we met," I answered. That day was one of my most pleasant memories, despite how it had started. The scent of dogwood blossoms still lingered in my memory as sweetly as perfume, lulling me back to that day as gently as a spring breeze.
"But...that was decades ago. Why would you remember something so trivial?" He asked, and looked up at him. Disbelief colored his features along with something softer - something I'd never dared to imagine seeing upon his face.
"Because it's something about you," I admitted as my heart hammered in my chest. Dropping my gaze back to the herbs, I tried to act as though I was still completely focused on creating the poultice my lord's hand required instead of my poor racing heart. Dropping my voice to a whisper, I both hoped and did not hope that he would hear me. "Everything about you matters to me."
Carrying the mortar and pestle over once I'd gathered myself, I took a seat beside him and lifted his injured hand.
"Forgive me. This will sting for a moment, but the oils should soothe the pain away quite quickly," I stated. With all the care I could muster, I scooped out part of the light green substance and dabbed it ever-so-lightly upon his wound. He didn't even flinch as I worked.
Truly, I should not have been surprised. Celebrimbor was a smith. He was used to injuries, even if they were not on par with...well, this. I'd set a broken bone in the same hand merely a decade before I was sent to Lindon, and even then he'd only let out a slight hiss of pain. Pride stabbed through me. Of course he'd escaped Sauron. How could he not with such strength?
My vision blurred as I reached for the gauze and cloth that I was meant to be covering the wound with, but I didn't truly process that I was crying until Celebrimbor brushed my tears away with his uninjured hand.
"What are these tears? Am I not meant to be the one in pain?" He asked giving me the same sweet smile he'd offered the day we met.
Turning just far enough to kiss his wrist, I tried to reassure him.
"I'm not in pain. I am more relieved than I have been in all my life." That was far too close to an admission for my taste, but after coming a hair's breadth from losing him, did I really want to stay silent for much longer? Carefully, I began wrapping his hand, ensuring that it was not too loose or too tight.
When I tied off the end over his palm, however, it occurred to me that after all he'd been through, Celebrimbor did not need a declaration of that sort after such a harrowing experience. He just needed a friend to be there with him. As that was all I would likely ever be to him, I smiled up at him and asked him how it felt.
"Perfect," he murmured in a lower, slightly rougher voice than before. Had I caused him more pain? Was the mix of oils wrong?
No. No, breathe. I'd treated Lord Celebrimbor before, and though he was the embodiment of kindness, he would've told me if something felt wrong. Perhaps he was tired? Yes, that was it. His long journey must be catching up with him. I'd noted the same when he was in the bath, so surely that was the only explanation. Carefully, I wiped my hands clean.
"We should change this in the morning and again before you go to bed tomorrow," I murmured, forcing out the professional advice that was so familiar to me. "We'll carry on like that for a few days, and see how you are healing as time progresses."
"As my healer wishes, but..." Celebrimbor trailed off, pausing as if he was considering whether to speak or remain silent. "You're...not leaving yet, are you?"
There was something vulnerable and frightened in his eyes now, something fragile that I was quite sure might break if I did leave. Instead, I smiled at him and shook my head.
"No, my lord. I will stay here with you as long as you wish," I promised, and his shoulders sagged in relief. After setting aside my supplies, I poured his tea how I knew he preferred it, and in the peace of Lindon's golden sunlight, we chatted as we used to. Since our correspondence had been so rudely prevented by a certain dark force, we filled each other in on all that we'd missed.
Celebrimbor insisted during that time, that I help him eat those lemon cakes. By the time the sun had begun to set, we'd even sent for a second pot of tea.
Amidst a lull in the conversation, Celebrimbor covered my hands with his own. My eyes flicked up to his, only to find him looking at me as if I'd hung the very stars in the sky.
"Is something amiss, my lord?"
"I should have told you years ago," he whispered. "I was a coward for so long. I only made it back here - back to you - by the sheerest of luck. I very nearly lost my chance entirely."
"After all these years, 'coward' is not a word I would ever think to call you," I said, but he shook his head.
"But I am. I have been so afraid that I would ruin the rapport that we've built," he insisted. "I am a coward, because I could not tell you until it was very nearly too late. I think a part of me hoped that if I could create something worthwhile...something to change Middle Earth, I would be worthy of risking the admission."
"What do you mean, mellon-nín?"
"My tunic!" He blurted, and at the alarm in his features, I startled.
"I don't understand. What about it, my lord?"
"Has it been taken away to be cleaned yet?" He asked, and I shook my head.
"No, my lord, I haven't had the chance, yet. I can do so now," I said, and he let out a sigh of relief.
"Oh, thank the Valar! No, don't take it yet, but...would you bring it to me?" Without hesitation, I hurried over to the table where I'd laid his clothing and pulled out his rumpled tunic. The stained green velvet had clearly seen better days. I sat beside him once more, and he folded the top inside out. Just inside the neckline, there was a small, concealed pocket. From within it, he pulled a velvet drawstring bag.
Discarding the tunic carelessly on the floor beside him, he took a steadying breath and offered me the bag. I accepted it cautiously, in case whatever was inside was fragile.
"This was the only thing I wanted to sneak out of my forge. The only thing that really mattered besides the nine," he said sounding more nervous than he had for most of the night. Darting his eyes between the bag and my face, Celebrimbor's tongue wetted his lips. "I meant to give it to you before you came to Lindon, but...I wasn't sure if...well..."
He trailed off and swallowed nervously.
"I feel fortunate to even have the opportunity to tell you, late though I am," he murmured. "Please...open it."
Carefully loosening the drawstring, I tipped the contents of the bag gently into my palm. Gleaming silver inlaid with the purest, brightest diamonds I'd ever seen sparkled up at me. Setting the bag aside, I lifted what I thought at first was a necklace, but upon its unfurling, I realized it was something entirely different.
"My lord, this is much too beautiful for one of my station," I protested looking up at him in awe.
"Nonsense. A circlet of a static shape would not adapt well if you wanted to wear your hair in more than one style. Such an adornment was a pleasure to make...for the Lady of Eregion," the last part of his statement came out as a whisper, and I froze. "I-I realize that title would not be applicable now, because Eregion is no more, but...I still wish you to have this. E-Even if you do not feel the same affection for me that I do for you, I still believe it would complement your beauty–"
My lips met his, cutting off his rambling. How could he think I would not want him? After all this time, after a century, I would've thought that I'd failed to hide my feelings quite spectacularly on several occasions. Lingering embraces, rather obviously adoring looks, spending practically all my time with him in his study and his forge - I had not been subtle, mentally berating myself on countless occasions for overstepping my bounds.
"I love you," I blurted as soon as we separated. "Since the day we met, I have held no other in higher regard. But...my lord, I am only Half-elven. You deserve so much better than me."
"Ridiculous. Of all the people I have encountered, you have done something that no other has: you have filled a hole in my heart which I did not know existed before we met. You have given me more to look forward to than just my work and my duties," he said cupping my face so gently between his strong, calloused fingers. The softness of his smile, the lines adorning the outer corners of his eyes - everything about him was so open and vulnerable that despite all the decades of accumulated doubts and fears, I believed him. "Meleth, your light chases away even the darkest of shadows. I love you, and I would spend my life with none but you."
When his lips claimed my own, he tasted of citrus, sugar, and courage. The next morning when High King Gil-Galad asked me to report on Lord Celebrimbor's condition, he noted the gleaming silver atop my head with a conspiratorial smirk and ordered me back to my patient's side. For his health, of course. If he called out a quiet congratulatory wish as I left, well, who could comment upon the thoughts of kings?

wasted on you |||
Tumblr media
idol scaramouche x reader
part Ii
Tumblr media
“ohmygosh, have you heard 4nemo’s new single?
“it’s sooo good (y/n!) you have to listen to it.”
“who’s your favorite one? mine would have to be scaramouche.”
your smile would always falter at the mention of his name. not like your friends ever knew you were acquaintanced with the idol group. “i don’t really like idol stuff, it’s not my thing.” you would always brush them off, refusing to take one of their earbuds to listen to the songs they wanted to show you.
hearing scaramouche’s voice again wouldn’t help you, not when you’ve gotten this far. not when you’ve moved on from him.
with college exams over and the end of your final year coming to a close you found yourself with nothing but time. with time came too many thoughts that would tumble around in your mind. too many what if’s and what could have been’s had plagued your mind since leaving scaramouche there backstage.
leaving him was so difficult, but being without him felt harder. you couldn’t help but sigh, now sitting alone in your room as the memories came back to you.
memories of splitting popsicles with him, after rehearsal drinks with his friends, smoking in a field together one of the rare times he was free from his filled schedule.
sometimes you couldn’t help but miss it. but then came the.. not so pleasant memories. the tears, the sore throat after screaming at each other, the way he’d always leave after an argument.
“please, scara! i just want you here with me. just this once. it’s been three years. give me this at least, please. i haven’t seen you in so long.”
remembering your own pleads to him never failed to make your heart ache. it still felt as if there was something unresolved, even after giving him his engagement ring back.
“i don’t wanna fucking see you (y/n)! id rather spend time with my friends doing something i enjoy than wasting my time with you.”
here comes the waterworks. tears would prick in the corners of your eyes when you remembered his tone that day. that angry look on his face.. he never looked so bothered before. it scared you so much that you still remembered it now, two years later.
it was strange seeing him on billboards and ads all across town and even on your own phone. in contrast to the angry glare he held for you, but an indifferent look to the public. would he still look at you that way? or would he look at you the same way he would everyone else?
curiosity got the best of you as you tapped on your phone, looking up his profile on instagram. there he was, looking the same as ever. maybe a little thinner but he still looked as beautiful as the day you left him.
a small smile graced your lips for a moment before it fell, seeing how much fun he had been having with his friends. you still kept in contact with kazuha, but never bothered to ask about him. you both knew it wouldn’t be good for you, so it was an unspoken rule.
“at least he’s doing well..” you mumbled to yourself before shutting off your phone. groaning internally, you knew this was a problem you had to deal with. this constant turmoil inside your head.
you decided you’d put an end to this. once and for all. you thought up a plan before texting kazuha, telling him what you wanted to resolve. despite his gentle warnings you wouldn’t listen. you just had to get through to him! make him understand your reasoning.
eventually kazuha gave in, and now you were standing in the pit to one of their concerts. it made you feel queasy remembering the last time you attended one. with your head hung low you waited for the group to start, they were opening for another up and coming idol group. it almost made you smile seeing scaramouche walk on stage with that glittery white outfit. the same glare on his features as before. he didn’t change, did he?
that sentiment making anxiety well up inside of you. you didn’t know how he would take it. seeing you again after so long. but you didn’t want him to know you were there to begin with, so you hid away from view, angled at a way that you could still watch them perform.
watching them now reminded you of one of the first concerts you ever went to of theirs, thanks to scaramouche getting tickets for you. that feeling of bubbling excitement and anxiousness when they were still so early in their career. you used to genuinely hope that they would make it, and they did!
his singing was stronger than it used to be, voice full of emotions as his eyes were fixated on the mic. a part of you missed this. coming to his shows, watching him give his all to the crowd of people that came just to see him and his friends.
as the group left the stage you sent a text to kazuha, walking away from the crowd and to the meeting spot he had told you about. it wasn’t like you didn’t already know where they were going, they always went to the same bar after every performance.
pushing open the grimy doors to the bar, you could see his back as you walked in. scaramouche was sitting at a table with his friends, drink in hand already as you walked up to them. you pulled out a seat next to scaramouche, crossing your arms over your chest as the guys looked at you excitedly, scaramouche not sharing the same sentiment.
“hey guys, long time no see.” heizou laughed loudly, patting scaramouche on his shoulder as they left the table. now it was just you and scaramouche.
he held this look of shock on his face, like he’d seen a ghost. his mouth slightly opening and closing, almost like a fish.
“hey.” you said softly, putting your hand on his arm. “are you real?” he asked you, now looking directly at you rather than trying not to meeting your gaze.
“of course i am, what do you mean by that? have you been dreaming about me too?” you ask, half joking but half serious as he had been plaguing your dreams for the past few months.
“don’t say things like that (y/n)..” he spoke quietly, taking a sip of his beer. you nod silently, watching him take a sip of his drink.
“i know, this is kind of weird. especially since i’m the one that left you but, it’s been haunting me. and i just want to talk.” you admit to him, looking down at your hands. suddenly your nails seemed much more interesting than to look at him.
“yeah, i think we’re due for that.” he said before sliding his drink over, taking your hands in his without warning. “look, (y/n). i know that back then i wasn’t great to you, far from it actually. i’ve thought about what you said to me that night ever since. i’m not asking for your forgiveness, nor am i asking you to get back together with me. but i just want you to know that i’m sorry. i regret wasting us, wasting what we had. i do love being an idol, but it doesn’t give me the same satisfaction as i got when i was with you.”
you nodded silently at his words, looping your arms around his neck as you hugged him. the words you had longed to hear were now finally being said. “that’s all i wanted.” you spoke quietly in his ear, your voice cracking with tears. “i just wanted that from you scara.”
you wiped your tears away as you pulled back, taking one of his hands in both of yours. “i want to be in your life again, not as lovers, not yet. but as friends. i’ve missed you all this time.” scaramouche nodded, taking his free hand and placing it on top of yours. “i can work with that.”
what you both didn’t see were the rest of the boys from 4nemo watching the scene unfold from the bar window. heizou’s loud cheering being shushed by xiao as both of your heads whipped to the window, red covering your faces in embarrassment.

HII I just wanted to say I simply adore your Alastor headcannons.. ❤️
I unsure if you’re accepting request but if you aren’t you can ignore this one 😅
I was thinking of a pining Alastor with a fem reader who never sings. Like she has always hated musicals, and ever since she’s been in hell she noticed it’s just one big musical. And the moment they finally actually open up and sing.. it’s not with Alastor. But probably Angel to make him feel better.. So he’s all jealous that the reader hasn’t sung with him.
And at the end they share a lil love duet and slow dance .. like, singing at last by Etta James..
I don’t know..I just love how you write Alastor. Your writing is absolutely phenomenal. 💕
I've been avoiding this one because it makes me think of Nix- 😭
Alastor X Reader Headcanons
✅️Romantic
❌️Platonic
Tumblr media
TW: Alastor being a MENACE, Grumpy!Reader, Mentions of Drunk!Reader
Description: 👆⬆️
You don't sing, you're not the kind of person who's just going to break out into song like everyone else around you
You sang along to music, sometimes sure, or maybe even sang to yourself, but you didn't live life like you're in a musical
You had better things to do with your time than dancing around to mysterious music and making up words on the fly
It was something that annoyed Alastor because no matter how hard he tried to get you to join him in his little song and dance, you just walked away
And left him feeling ridiculous for even trying to make music with you
Good
Your serious demeanor and closed off nature only served to make him want to win you over even more
He doesn't like people being a mystery to him, he wants to know what you're thinking and how you're feeling all the time
For the sake of knowledge, of course, not out of any romantic desire or anything as ridiculous as that
After several failed attempts to get you to sing, Alastor just assumes you've got a bad singing voice and gives up
Only to be PISSED when he's proven wrong because WHY WON'T YOU SING WITH HIM
He finds you holding Angel to your chest and singing to him, the poor spider holding back tears as he relaxes into your arms
Alastor just hides and listens to the sound of your voice more confused than ever as to why you don't sing
You have a BEAUTIFUL VOICE
It reignites his desire to get you to sing with him and he becomes more of a pest than ever for you
He tries to trick you into humming or singing, turning on the radio when you two are alone in hopes that you'll take a liking to a song
"Do you have a particular music preference, my dear?"
"Can't say I do, whatever you pick is fine."
You only roll your eyes and continue looking at your book, the only sign that you like the music is your leg bouncing to the beat
He later catches you humming a little tune with Niffty as the two of you clean up together, the happy look on your face is the most precious thing he's seen
Alastor tries to invite you out to a concert/musical, waving two tickets in front of your face
"What do you say, my dear~? You and I listening to the most wonderful music in hell together?"
Only to watch your face scrunch up at the idea and realize that he's about to be rejected
"That's not really my thing, maybe you can get Charlie to go with you."
He ends up giving the tickets to Charlie and Vaggie, letting the two of them have a date night
You're smiling and singing a little song with Husk later that night, cooking a late night dish with him
He sulks the entire night and glares at you whenever your paths cross because HOW DARE YOU
WITH HUSKER!?
He even tries taking everyone to a karaoke bar and pulling you up on stage, hoping you're drunk enough that you'll sing
Only to be the victim of your drunken rage and get body slammed into a table instead because he startled you
"Alastor!! Are you okay!? Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! I will pay for the table!"
Charlie is panicking because everyone is STARING, but you just glare down at him, cheeks flushed from the booze
"Don't... sneak up on me like that..."
He'd be lying if he said it didn't turn him on a little, laying there still in shock over what happened
"Understood."
Later, he hears you singing along to a song someone else is singing to. You're so drunk by that point that he doubts you even realize you're doing it
But you still sound so good even when your words are slurred and you're not even singing the right song
It gets to the point where Alastor's mood sours whenever you sing because he wants to sing with you but you always turn him down
You're trying to open up more but it's difficult to open up to someone like Alastor because it's impossible to know if he can be trusted
Your better judgment tells you no, but your heart whispers that you should give him a chance
Alastor just wants a duet with you so badly
You two would kill it, and he knows it
He's playing at the piano one day, singing to himself for entertainment more than anything
It's a song from his childhood, bringing up memories of happier times with his mother
When you suddenly saddle up next to him and begin to play as well, adding another layer to his song
His tail wagging and the way his eyes light up are the only indication he gives that he's excited by your presence
He keeps singing, feeling renewed by your musical accompaniment and really enjoying the music
Only to be graced with the sound of your own voice joining him, your hands briefly crossing over each others to play the right notes
The simple graze is electric for both of you, but neither would admit for years to come
He was right, you two sound better than anything he's ever heard before and he can't help but look at you because surely you feel it too??
Only to be flustered by the blush on your face and the small smile you give him, obviously pushed beyond your comfort zone but trying hard
It's all he can do to swallow the lump in his throat and focus on the song instead of how good you look or how beautiful you sound
Only when the song is over do you two realize how close your faces have gotten, gazing into each other's eyes like lovesick teenagers
You both are leaning in closer, gazes drifting down to lips-
When Alastor suddenly jerks away and walks across the room from you, his face burning from the realization of what almost happened
You deflate a bit and worry that you read him wrong, standing up so you can leave with your pride still intact
"Alastor, I'm so-"
Suddenly, the radio comes to life, Alastor picking a station with a slow romantic song playing before holding his hand out to you
"Care to dance, my dear? It'd be a shame to let such a good song go to waste..!"
You're both blushing and avoiding looking each other in the eye but you take his hand anyways, being pulled flush against him
If anyone were to peek in and see you two, it would certainly look like you two were a couple dancing to a romantic song and having a moment
Alastor has one hand on your hip while the other gently holds your hand, your head resting against him in an attempt to hide how embarrassed you are
His ears are folded back, and the smile on his face is wobbly and awkward, your other hand on his shoulder suddenly seemingly very interesting
Good thing nobody is peeking in on you two, except everyone is peeking in and passing around cash
"Pay up Angel, Husk, Charlie won fair and square."

I hope you guys like it 💓

FORGIVE ME!
Noah Sebastian X Fem! Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Noah being an idiot ;)
Warnings: A lot of angst
Word Count: 2k
We had been fighting for weeks, every day there was a reason for a fight.
Noah was currently on tour with Bad Omens, and now we were in New York.
The show was at eight o'clock, and I was sitting in the green room waiting for the boys to finish getting ready.
They knew about the fights, Jolly came to comfort me when Noah was very hard with his words.
I consider myself a calm person, especially with Noah, but my patience was running out, every day he found a stupid reason to fight with me. I knew the pressure he was feeling because of the tour, and I respected that, but he was crossing the limits.
"earth to y/n" Noah took me out of my thoughts
"Sorry, what were you talking about?" I asked
"Just letting you know that I was going up to the stage" his gaze was anywhere but on me.
"Hm okay, good luck" smiles weakly
He just passed by me and went on stage, Nick came after, I could see the sad smile towards me. I just nodded my head.
——————-
It had been 20 minutes since they had climbed to the board, I directed myself in the direction that Matt, who was at the sound station.
"Hi there y/n" Matt smiled at me
"Hey Matt, do you mind if I stay here?" I spoke in your ear because of the loud music.
"No problem, sit there" he said back.
I always stayed next to the stage when they were on stage. Noah always made a point of making me stay there. He liked to know that I was there.
Not anymore, I think. It has been some shows since the last time he asked me to stay there. And I also didn't ask if he wanted to, he clearly didn't care anymore.
My thoughts ran as they introduced themselves.
Will he break up with me?
What did I do wrong?
Am I not good enough?
The music was loud, everyone singing, smiling and dancing.
And me?
I felt tears coming down.
———————
The show was over. The boys were saying goodbye and playing the setlist in airplane format.
I had returned to the green room, I felt fear but I needed to ask what was wrong with us.
I heard laughter, and I saw them going down to the green room.
I just looked and smiled towards them.
Noah hadn't looked at me yet.
I heard my name being called and saw Nicholas smiling at me talking about something that at the moment, my anxiety did not allow me to care about.
I could only think of the way Noah didn't bother to talk to me.
All right. I'll talk to him.
I excused Nicholas and went towards Noah, who was taking a bottle of water.
"Can I talk to you for a minute?" I felt my heart beating 3 times faster
Noah just nodded his head.
He didn't care.
We went towards a running that was outside the room.
All right, now I needed to talk.
"What's going on?" My voice came out faster than I wanted
"What do you mean? Nothing is going on" there was no concern in his voice
"Cut the bullshit Noah, you know what I'm talking about, God, you can't even look at me!" There was a certain anger in my voice.
"There's nothing wrong! I don't know where you got it from that there's something going on with us!" He had increased his tone of voice
"You can't tell me that there's nothing wrong when in recent weeks the only words we've exchanged are "good morning and good night"!"
"My God, you're hallucinating, there's nothing wrong and maybe if you stopped being so clingy , you would know why I'm not close to you, you annoy me!" Now he was screaming and I was sure the boys were listening.
Clingy. I felt a pang of pain in my heart. Noah never complained about it. Most of the time he asked to stay close.
I felt tears burning in my eyes.
"So why don't you break up with me?" My voice failed
"Maybe I really should!!" He screamed passing by me and returning to the green room.
Your phrase echoed in my head.
"Maybe I really should"
"Maybe I really should"
"Maybe I really should"
I leaned against the wall behind me and released the tears that begged to be released.
I stayed there for a few minutes, just with my eyes closed and letting my thoughts consume me.
I felt a pair of arms hugging me. A part of me expected it to be Noah and he would apologize to me and say that everything would be fine.
But another part of me didn't ignore the pain of his words.
I opened my eyes and saw Matt hugging me. For a moment I let myself be vulnerable there.
"He doesn't want me here anymore" I whispered
"It's not true, he's just being an idiot " Matt stroked my hair
"He doesn't want to. It's not from now that he's acting distant"
He didn't answer me, he just kept hugging me.
"I'm going home" I said after a few seconds
"Y/n...please" there was a tone of reprimand in his voice
"I won't disturb his career anymore Matt, he clearly doesn't want me here and I won't force anymore "
"Let me try, let's try to talk to him at least" he pleads
I denied it.
"No, my decision is made."
———————-
The next day, Noah and the boys had left for tourists to New York City.
I said I was tired and couldn't go. Lie.
My flight was scheduled for 11:30 am. Only Matt knew.
I had just packed my suitcase and all that was left was to pick up my cell phone that was charging.
My mind told me to leave a note for Noah. I ignored it.
——————-
I had just landed in Los Angeles. And again, only Matt knew.
A part of me was afraid of Noah's reaction when he realized that I had left.
Another part just told me that he wouldn't mind.
——————
Now it was 8:50 pm, so far no message from Noah.
I started to think he really didn't care.
I tried to distract myself by trying to do other things, but my heart still hurt to know that he didn't care.
I was finishing making my dinner and my cell phone started ringing.
I felt my heart drop.
I looked at the name on the receiver and mentally cursed.
It was Noah.
What would I say?
I took a deep breath and answered the phone.
"Hello?" I tried to keep my voice steady.
"Where are you?" I could hear a despair in his voice
I kept quiet.
"Matt said you went back home" he said after a few seconds
I cursed Matt mentally.
"I- I arrived a few hours ago" my voice weakened
After a moment, he spoke
"I want you to know that I didn't mean that. You're not sticky and I could never separate from you" my heart hurt.
"You wouldn't say that out of nowhere Noah, some part of your mind must think that." I Whispered
"Please don't! I was stressed, I took it out on you and please forgive me for that."
"It's not from now this behavior of yours Noah! It's been weeks since the last time you cared if I was at the show or not!" I exalted myself
He didn't answer.
And my head confirmed to me what I had said.
He doesn't care.
"We're done" I hung up.
And obviously tears fell.
——————
It had been 4 days since the last time I spoke to Noah, he had sent me many, many messages, not only from him.
Matt.
Nicholas
Nick
Jolly
Bryan
Davis
I hadn't answered any of them. My mind wasn't in the right space for that.
I was finishing making my coffee when the doorbell rang.
I took a deep breath.
It couldn't be Noah, he still had many shows before the tour ended.
I went towards the door and opened it.
Shit.
What the fuck was he doing here?
He still had shows to do.
And there was Noah, standing right in front of my door.
His eyes were red indicating that he had cried
Your deep dark circles indicating the lack of good sleep
Your messy hair indicating the lack of your self-care.
"Please give me 5 minutes to talk and if you don't change your mind, you never need to see me again" He said first.
I couldn't find a voice to answer and so I just nodded.
I gave him space to enter and soon after closing the door.
"Y/n, nothing I say here, you'll be able to show what a sorry I am, I know I acted like a terrible boyfriend in recent weeks and I was a big asshole with you" I just agreed in response
"I've always been very understanding with you Noah, I never fought when you were angry and discounted me" my voice finally came out.
He waved quickly.
"I know, I know, and that's why I'm feeling like crap, nothing I say could show how grateful I am for you and your patience with me, and I know I made a mistake, and I made bad mistakes with you, but I'm asking from the bottom of my heart that you don't break up with me" he pleaded
"I promise to change and promise to be a better boyfriend, I can't promise perfection but please don't break up with me."
His words were repeated in my mind
"You hurt me Noah, and my question remains, how do I know this won't happen again? That you won't just get tired of me and treat me like a complete stranger?"
"I have no form of guarantee other than my word, but please...." He had knelt in front of me.
Noah leaned his head against my belly, repeating the word "please" over and over again.
"Please get up Noah" I tried to pull your arms
"No, I would stay like this for hours and hours if it made me have you back" I closed my eyes.
"You have me. And my mind keeps telling me that I shouldn't forgive you so fast but I just can't. So please don't make me go through this pain again, don't make me question your love for me again." Noah tightened his arms around me.
"I promise, I promise." He looked at me.
"Now get up please, I need to look at you face to face" and he got up, still holding me by the waist.
Noah leaned his forehead against mine, our eyes completely aligned.
"I love you" he whispered
"I love you" I just whispered back.
But I still had a question.
"Don't you have a show in 50 minutes?" I asked curiously
"I canceled" he replied calmly
"What? What do you mean you canceled?" There were question marks in my head
"If I needed to, I would cancel the entire tour just to come after you" I felt tears burning in my eyes
"You canceled the show.... For me?"
He nodded his head
"I would do this as many times as necessary, to have you with me."
Maybe he would make a mistake again, again....
Maybe I would make a mistake….
After all, who cares? We're just two lovers trying to love each other properly.

the part of this first face-to-face confrontation between shan gudao, fang duobing, and li lianhua that is hitting me the hardest on my second mlc watchthrough is how, given the camera angle during shan gudao's evil villain monologue, he doesn't even seem like he's looking at li lianhua. and he's standing right across from him.
Tumblr media
listen to shan gudao speaking about li lianhua like he isn't even here, standing directly across from him with tears streaming down his face, having to speedrun all the stages of grief for the brutal murder of his understanding of his relationship with his shixiong. like that's what is really at the bleeding heart of this confrontation: they have profoundly different understandings of what is happening here, and only one of them is remotely compatible with reality.
(spoilers, it's not shan gudao.)
Tumblr media
screenshots alone don't do cheng yi's microexpression game justice here. he's incredible. give this man all the awards for this role, he deserves them.
Tumblr media
contrast shan gudao's abject refusal to look li lianhua in the eye throughout his entire villainous monologue with fang duobing's laser focus on li lianhua--which i think deserves praise and recognition all on its own, quite frankly, because he, too, is going through it! this is his first time speaking with shan gudao since learning that he's his father, rather than his uncle--since he was a disabled child struggling to swing a sword from his wheelchair--and this? this is the reception he gets, from the man who called him trash and abandoned him? but compassion and kindness come as naturally to fang duobing as avarice and resentment do to shan gudao, and so it is no hardship for him to shelve his feelings while li lianhua is clearly just barely holding it together next to him. right now, fang duobing has both the strength to carry them both through this moment, and the willingness to do it. because he loves li lianhua (again, however you choose to interpret that love, be it romantic or platonic--that's what it is), sincerely and artlessly, and he doesn't want to see him in pain.
which is a real bummer for fang duobing because, well:
Tumblr media
of course, li lianhua's agony here has nothing to do with being the 'joke' that shan gudao is making him out to be, because li lianhua has never looked at his relationship with his shixiong as a scale in need of balancing, or as their time training together as martial siblings, and then running the sigu sect, as a ledger of wins and losses to be scrutinized and tallied up. (i may come back to this paragraph in the future because there's something specific to unpack here about li lianhua's very particular feelings re: how he failed the sigu sect, and his shixiong, and his shifu and shiniang, and how this failure--to recognize shan gudao's resentment and contempt for what it really was--is just the last nail in the coffin when it comes to his feelings about his life as li xiangyi. but i can't quite get the thoughts to come together. rip.)
Tumblr media
now shan gudao is willing to look at li lianhua, and once again i don't think the screenshots do the flicker in shan gudao's expression justice. it's this minute, blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment of surprise and uncertainty, which to me only emphasizes how unnecessary all of shan gudao's machinations prior to the battle at the east sea really were. because over and over and over again, we see him confronted with concrete evidence that his perception of himself, his relationships, and his place in the world is at odds with how things really were, and are. and frequently, reality was not even to his detriment!! or rather, it didn't have to be, but each time he encountered one of these crossroads and diverging paths where an alternate path was available to him, he balked at taking it.
because to actually walk these diverging paths, shan gudao would have to put down the giant chip on his shoulder long enough to recognize that there was someone else walking along the path beside him, willing to help him carry that burden.

Velveteen|Theodore Nott
"He knew that they were only toys, and would never turn into anything else."
Theodore Nott x Reader
Summary: As the last surviving witch with ties to an ancient form of magic, Dumbledore has you tracking down horcrux hotspots.
Length: 2.2k
Notes: Angst mostly, some fluff. Blood, swearing, smoking. Percy Weasley hate (valid). This is just a little something I had the urge to write. May or may not continue as a series at this stage.
Tumblr media
Fuck trees, fuck trolls, and fuck that smug little Weasley auror from the Ministry. He was a rat in y/n's eyes. A scheming, conniving rodent of a man. How he had even tracked her out there was beyond her. She'd made sure to take all of the precautions Snape had given her.
She'd apparated out with Professor Dumbledore. A good fifty kilometres from the point of interest too, might she add. Fifty kilometres she'd had to trek over two days to remain undetected. On foot. All for nothing in the end thanks to Percy.
Bootlicker.
There was no worse feeling than a failed task. Especially when it was one of her most important to date. The map was atrocious really, they clearly had no idea what they were looking for. Just that y/n should be able to sense it. Sniff it out as though she were some kind of blood hound.
Percy she had sensed. Thankfully she had gotten out before he'd seen her face, or the sea cave entrance she'd been eyeing on the cliffs below. She'd have to go back now. Which was absolutely wonderful and definitely did not make her want to tear her hair out.
Merlin, she thought she might hit the next Weasley she came across just for looking like him if she didn't calm down soon. Not Ginny of course, Ginny was lovely. Ronald was fair game though. Fred she would also be impartial to.
To top things off, y/n now found herself fleeing from the edge of the Forbidden Forest towards the castle. She'd missed the welcome dinner, which was a shame. But in all honesty, may have been a small mercy at this point. At least this way most of the students would be asleep, and she could get into the castle undetected.
It wasn't Dumbledore's fault that the end location of the Portkey had seemingly been inhabited by a troll since he had selected it. But how hard was it to check up on, really? Especially knowing she was wandless and unable to cast any regular spells. She'd blasted it to bits, of course. Not before it had gotten one good shot at her though, flinging her into the nearest pine tree.
It was just rather inconsiderate she thought.
The dizziness was setting in as she entered the castle via the Viaduct Bridge, snaking her way down to the dungeons. Making sure to grip every railing or wall available to her. Merlin was on her side that night, not one Professor crossed her path while she had floated through the dim halls. Once the concrete snake had appeared, revealing the door, she almost fell over with relief
The stairs felt so horrifically long, but finally she reached the dim, candle-lit depths of the Slytherin common room. Keeling forward for a moment, y/n placed her hands on her knees as she tried to calm her breathing. Her left palm came away bloodied. There was a tear in her stockings, and a huge gash across her knee.
y/n groaned, making her way around the corner to the couches her friends had claimed in third year. She couldn't wait to fall into one, maybe never wake if she had her way. And she did fall, only into Theodore Nott's eyeline. He looked as though he'd been waiting there for hours from the sweltering anger on his face. She took a deep breath, knowing she was about to get her ass handed to her for a second time that night.
"Nice of you to notify me of your delay."
"Does it look as though I planned on it?" y/n mumbled, sinking into the green velvet couch across from him. She sighed as her tension eased for the first time in days. Head lolling against the couch's back. Her hands shielding her eyes as a headache set in. While Theodore sat deathly still, awaiting further explanation with a burdened gaze. Something told y/n the burden was her.
"Mind if I borrow your wand?" y/n groaned from behind her palms.
There was only silence for a moment, before she heard him shift across from her. When she lifted her head his wand was resting on the table between them. He was pissed, beyond apprehension. But he had softened at her shattered appearance, the blood on her knee. Which she had now unknowingly painted on her cheek.
"Thank you," y/n sighed in relief, half expecting to have to fight for it. She worked quickly, sealing up the gash and cleansing the blood, pine needles, and dirt from her skin. Finishing by stitching her stockings together again. When she finally glanced back up, Theodore was frowning. His eyes sweeping her body up and down as she finished her work. He looked up from the closing threads of her stockings as they meshed around her knee, one eyebrow raised.
"Have something you'd like to say?" y/n grumbled, holding his wand out for him to take. He wasn't a fan of that question, or her attitude. His expression soured once again, all past concern pushed away. y/n brushed more pine needles off of her skirt, too tired and sore to care. She was spent, so completely crushed from the past two days. The knowledge that she had no choice but to continue until she succeeded wasn't helping.
"Have you always behaved like this, or do you just enjoying making me worry insufferably?" Theo leaned forward, and took the wand from her outstretched hand. His fingertips gently brushing her grazed knuckles.
"It's nice to see you too, Teddy," y/n laughed tiredly, shedding more pine needles as she picked them from her stockings. If she shut her eyes now, she worried they were so heavy she might fall asleep sitting up.
"Where have you been? I searched the whole train up and down for you. You missed the Sorting Ceremony," Theo hissed.
"It's a good thing we already know what house I'm in then, isn't it?"
"That's not funny y/n." He scolded, the concern in his voice thinly veiled by the frown he was wearing. She had no idea what it had been like for him, these past few hours especially.
"I need a cigarette before we get into it," y/n sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose. Everything was aching, she would find solace in a smoke or two. He didn't move. "Please?"
"It's late."
"You're awake," she countered, a hopeful look on her face that he knew he wouldn't be able to dissapoint.
"Because of you," he grumbled, running his hands through his messy curls.
"I'll take that as a yes, be right back," and she was off, disappearing into the dormitories.
"Do as you please, you always do," Theodore huffed under his breath.
He needed one too if he was honest. He felt as though he'd aged a few decades from the fear he'd been wearing all evening while he fretted over her disappearance.
She reappeared a minute or so later, the heavy overcoat he'd brought her for her birthday last year hanging off of her shoulders. The pair took their usual route until they found themselves at the top of the hill just outside the grounds, overlooking Hagrid's hut. y/n stood, overlooking the moonlit valley beneath them. The peace quickly disintegrating into swearing as the wind prevented her from sparking up. Theo had been hanging behind slightly, still not having forgiven her. But upon hearing the quiet curses falling from her lips, he couldn't help but walk over.
"You shield, I'll light it," he instructed, y/n doing as she was told and holding the sides of her coat up.
He closed the open space with his chest in two gentle steps. His thumb running over the flint of the lighter as the wind went quiet and y/n's face grew warm. He brought it to her lips, unable to keep himself from looking as he lit the cigarette between them. She took a relieved drag as the flame took. Theo got out his own cigarette, leaning down to press its tip to hers. He inhaled, spreading the flame between them. The grass was dewey beneath them as they smoked. Theo looked over to y/n, trailing over her body just to make sure.
"You've got pine needles in your hair, by the way," Theo murmured as he took another drag. His eyes flickering from hers, to the ground as he tapped his cigarette.
"Oh for fuck's sake," y/n heaved, tilting her head back in exasperation. She began ripping the hair ties from her two braids and brushing her fingers through them to shake the needles loose. Balancing her cigarette between her lips as she did.
"Still there," Theo mused, studying her with an amused expression as her frustration grew.
She passed him her cigarette wordlessly, which he took. She'd have rather not set herself alight on top of everything today. Then tipped her head forward, carelessly dragging her fingertips through it to rid herself of them. Once she was done, she flung her hair back. Raising an eyebrow in Theo's direction. He only gave her a saccharine smile as he took a drag from her cigarette, keeping it lit.
"Still?" y/n asked in disbelief, taking her cigarette from his lips and placing it between her own.
"Come here, sit," He shook his head, as though she was the most useless creature he'd ever seen. Theo walked over to the steps nearby, sitting on the top one. She followed suit, tucking her coat beneath her and taking a seat two steps down. She dipped her head back, leaning on her elbows. Her head resting between his knees. Theo couldn't help but admire the way her hair fell, even in its current mess.
Pressing the nub of his cigarette into the grass after one final drag, Theo brushed his hands off. His fingers quickly lacing through her hair in gentle streams as he dragged out the remaining pine needles. Christ there were a lot of them. He ran his fingers through it again, carefully to ensure he didn't snag anything. He did it again, and again. The pine needles were long gone. But her breathing had grown steady, and her shoulders relaxed. And that mattered far more to him than some pine needles.
"All clear?" She whispered sleepily, her head falling all the way back to meet his eyes.
"All clear," Theo echoed, the dried blood beneath her eye making him wince. "You missed this though," he reached out, pressing his thumb to his tongue and running it under her eye to brush the blood away.
"Ew," y/n gasped, but if she was honest, she was too tired to care. She swatted his hand away gently. Taking another drag from her cigarette which had been resting beneath her knuckles.
"Need I remind you that you once sneezed in my mouth?" Theo chimed, knowing it was his trump card, and likely would be for eternity.
"That was literally in First Year and it was an accident," she mumbled.
"Still stands." He shrugged.
"You loved it, don't lie." That got a smile out of him, however unwillingly.
"You're foul. Now tell me why you came in several hours late, looking like a troll dragged you through a bush backwards."
y/n's eyes widened slightly at his statement, choking on the dregs of her cigarette in disbelief. His smile vanished, eyes flickering between her own as he gauged her reaction. His jaw clenched as she sat up swiftly.
"Tell me you're joking."
"I think it's bedtime," y/n breathed, going to push herself up and off of the steps. But Theo's hand found her wrist like a vice, pulling her back down before she had a chance. He leant forward as she stumbled closer to him from the force. She just managed to catch herself from falling straight into him.
"I don't think so. What was that?" He said lowly, staring into her eyes. She was eternally fucked now. He could always tell when she lied, and he never tolerated it.
"Just leave it Theo, please," she pleaded, not having the energy.
"I left it all Summer. All of your disappearances, all of your little quests. You promised me it would be done by the end of the Summer. I have it in fucking writing, so don't tell me to leave it. What is going on?" He seethed, and y/n found herself unable to meet his eyes.
"Teddy, you know I can't-"
"God I'm so sick of hearing that." He laughed, a cruel sound, not his usual light-hearted teasing. "The Professors have you off, running around like some toy soldier, but you're not allowed to tell me what for. Then they're not even there to help you when things go wrong?"
"It's-"
"Despicable is what it is."
"Would you listen to me?"
"I would, but it's not like you'd be able to tell me anything, is it?"
The words left y/n silent, because they were true. She wished so terribly that they weren't. That she hadn't done it.
"I've always told you everything, y/n. I don't understand why-"
"I made the unbreakable vow."
The words rushed out of her as though she were going to be sick. The silence that followed her confession only made it more probable. Theo's features had darkened as her confession sunk in. He let go of her wrist, his hand wound into a fist as he looked out at the treeline of the forbidden forest. He stayed that way for a few moments as y/n stood before him, silently begging him to say something.
"Dumbledore," he breathed out finally, his voice straining with the effort of evenness, "you made the unbreakable vow, with Dumbledore?"
"I had to Theo, it was too important. They can't take any risks. Not until everything is done. I wanted to tell you, more than anything. I still want to-"
"Do you suppose he's ever made Potter make one?" Theo turned to her, looking as though he was about to set them both alight.
Her explanations fell dead on her tongue. They both knew he hadn't. Both knew what Dumbledore was scared of when it came to her.
"I didn't think so either," Theo conceded to her silence, his voice turning hollow. y/n felt something within her crack at the truth of his words. He was wrong, or at least she wanted him to be.
"It's different."
"I'm not sure it is," Theo countered, and he knew he was right in saying it.
Because it wasn't any different. The difference was trust. They were using her up and once they were done they would spit her out, or worse. He wasn't going to be able to sleep easily now.
"You should get to bed, I'll see you at practice tomorrow," he huffed, staring out to the forest again.
y/n stood there for a moment, hoping she could think of something to make it better. But as Theo lit another cigarette, the only thing she felt was tired.

"all yours forever."
Tumblr media
pairing: lee seokmin x fem reader
genre: smut, angst, fluff, established (secret) relationship
word count: ~2.1k
content: reader also works in the entertainment industry, seokmin's a Big Boy relative to reader, jealousy, possessiveness, dom!seokmin, sub!reader, min is kinda mean but also a softie, pet names (honey, dear, baby, princess, love), mirror sex, fingering, unprotected sex, rough sex, marking, multiple orgasms, creampie, mentions of shower sex (lmk if i missed something)
Tumblr media
summary: even though the rest of the world can't know about your relationship yet, your boyfriend seokmin wants to make sure you remember that you belong to him.
Tumblr media
"hey honey, can you help me with the zipper?" you're standing in front of the full-length mirror in your bedroom admiring your gorgeous dress one last time before your boyfriend helps you out of it. you both just got back from an award show in which you were one of the presenters, and your boyfriend just happened to be part of the group that won the most awards that night.
"of course, dear." seokmin comes up behind you, having already taken off his suit jacket and tie, his shirt slightly unbottoned from where he had started the process to remove it as well. "but first, let me admire my beautiful lady just a little longer."
he wraps his hands around your waist and stares you up and down through the mirror over your shoulder. even though you've been together for a while now, you can't help but blush every time he compliments you like this. he never fails to let you know you are the most beautiful woman in the world to him.
"you know, it took everything i had not to run up on stage and kiss you when you announced we won the main award." it really was such a coincidence you ended up being the one to present that award, seeing as no one, not even the other members, knew you two were seeing each other. it was like fate that you got to be with your boyfriend at such an important moment in his career, even if you couldn't really show just how excited you were.
"well it took everything i had not to burst out into tears when i opened the card and saw 'seventeen.' i was so happy to see everything you worked so hard for the last year finally be recognized. i'm so proud of you, honey."
at this, seokmin's grip on your waist tightens and he nuzzles his face into your neck, his lips teasing your skin with every word as he spoke. "i'm so proud of you too, y/n. i know how big of a deal it is to be asked to present at such a big award show, especially for the main prize. you were amazing up there."
after this, he trails kisses up and down your neck that make your knees go a little weak at the sensation. you don't mean to, but you let out a quiet moan because it just feels so good. the both of you have been so busy lately that you haven't had much time to spend together, let alone be intimate, in longer than either of you would prefer.
you try your best to continue the conversation, not wanting him to know right away just how desperate you are for him. "the performance was so powerful, too. you all looked so cool up there."
at these words, seokmin stops his borderline makeout session with your neck and shoulder and pulls away slightly, staring you dead in the eye through the reflection in the mirror. "all of us? you're the only one i could see all night... meanwhile you were looking at the other members like that?"
you think he must obviously be joking and let out a little laugh, but his face stays dead serious. your boyfriend doesn't show his jealous side often, so you're a little taken aback but try your best to smooth out the situation. "i wasn't looking at them like that... i just meant the overall performance was really cool. of course my main focus was on you."
seokmin doesn't seem satisfied with your response and without another word finally gets to unzipping the back of your dress. the silence makes you a little nervous, your boyfriend was not someone anyone would accuse of being quiet for long. he lets the expensive gown fall to the floor and you begin turning to face him, but he quickly holds you in place, his hand firmly on your jaw forcing you to look at the both of you in the mirror.
"i know the guys can't know yet that we're together. but just in case you've started to forget, i'm going to show you tonight the only person you should be looking at. going to remind you that you're all mine."
he reaches his big hand down over the beautiful lace panties he had bought you along with the bra you're wearing as a christmas present. he feels how wet you already are and just smirks. you feel pathetic, being able to see his every facial expression through the mirror and knowing that he now knows full well just how badly you want him tonight. he teases you with a slow swipe of his tongue up your neck to end up biting your ear.
"mmh, yes, all yours forever, baby." seokmin hears your words like a secret code, granting him permission to show you that every inch of your body belongs to him.
he gives your still-clothed pussy a quick slap, making you yelp, before reaching his long fingers under the fabric to start rubbing your clit. he starts off slow, but quickens his pace in no time making you throw your head back over his shoulder. with his free hand he grabs your jaw again and brings your head forward. "i told you baby, you only look at me and what i'm doing."
you heed his warning and focus your eyes on the movements in your panties that are making your legs weak and your breath unsteady. you reach your hand up to grab at the back of seokmin's hair and the pace of his fingers somehow gets even faster. your vision starts to get blurry as you get closer and closer to your orgasm, but you try with everything in you to keep your eyes focused on your boyfriend and what he's doing just as he instructed.
"fuck, min! i'm gonna- please, can i-" you can't form a coherent sentence as you're on the brink of falling apart. your boyfriend decides to not be any meaner by making you spell out exactly what you want like he has on previous occasions, and just gives you a hum of approval in your ear granting you permission to come undone for him.
your whole body begins to shake and seokmin holds you up with one of his large arms to keep you from collapsing to the floor as you come down from your high. once your breathing starts somewhat returning to normal, he finishes undressing you, throwing the underwear somewhere on your bedroom floor.
he lets you get a good look at yourself in the mirror. lets you take in the fact that only he has the power to make you come undone like this, the arousal dripping down your thighs serving as proof.
when he's satisfied he's made his point, he finally turns you around to face him. all the coldness has left his eyes and he's back to looking at you tenderly, one hand caressing your face before pulling it closer to his and kissing you deeply.
you have kissed seokmin probably a million times at this point. but somehow every single one feels magical, as if a tiny firework goes off at every connection of the lips, every meeting of your tongues.
you quickly finish unbuttoning his shirt and toss it to the floor, hands automatically returning to roam around his muscular chest and abs. sometimes you hate how much of what little free time he has he spends at the gym when he could be with you, but when you see, and feel, the results you really can't complain.
at the same time as you undo his belt, seokmin walks you back towards the bed, his lips never leaving yours in the process. once you finally reach your destination he pushes you down onto the mattress, hastily removing the rest of his clothes on his own before climbing on top of you.
you hope he doesn't see the slight smile that forms on your lips, finding it almost cute how desperate his actions are as if he wasn't just teasing you for being so needy for him just minutes before. but, as much as you loved it, you could hardly handle how rough he can already be with you sometimes. you didn't need him trying even harder to put you in your place after seemingly making fun of him for rushing to jump on top of you like a horny teenager.
maybe he can read your mind, or maybe it's just coincidence, but seokmin does seem to stop and compose himself for a second. his actions slow down as he makes sure you're in a comfortable position before aligning his hard length to your still soaking wet center.
he looks at you, and you can tell just by his eyes what he's asking without him having to say a word.
"yes, baby. need you inside me, please." that's all he needs to start pushing his thick cock into you. he goes slowly, letting you adjust to his size and feel the way he stretches you wide open. you've slept together countless times and it's like nothing can ever prepare you each time for how big he is and the way he fills you up so nicely.
seokmin lets out a groan as he bottoms out inside you, staying still for a moment to savor the feeling of you already clenching around him. he's missed this feeling so much and it almost immediately overtakes him as if he's possessed.
he pulls back slowly, almost pulling out completely before slamming back into you, making you grip onto his biceps that are on either side of your head. he reaches a relentless pace almost immediately and you instinctively wrap your legs around his waist, wanting to feel him as deep inside you as humanly possible.
the room is soon filled with a symphony of lewd noises. your screams of his name, his grunts and moans, your skin slapping together, and the wet sounds of your pussy all playing together in perfect harmony. you reach your arms up over the large frame hovering over you, digging your nails into your boyfriend's back, undoubtedly leaving marks on his skin that will last for days.
seokmin returns the favor by leaving marks of his own on your neck with his mouth. you'd usually object to this, fearing someone may see them and start dating rumors about you in the tabloids. but you both had a few days off coming up between schedules and honestly, you've missed being with him like this so much that you probably wouldn't even care anyways.
as you get closer to your second orgasm of the night, you bring your boyfriend right along with you as the clenching of your pussy around his cock hurdles him toward the edge at lightning speed.
"fuck, i'm almost there. tell me where you want it princess." the pet name is enough to make you snap and your reply comes out desperate and louder than you meant for it to.
"inside! i need you to fill me up, please!"
and with that, you both fall apart. your vision starts to go as white as the thick ropes he paints your walls with. he slows down but continues until he's loaded every last drop into you as you ride the waves of your orgasm.
you both lie still for a moment, catching your breaths. seokmin then places a kiss on your forehead before carefully pulling out of you. the sensation makes you wince at the slight overstimulation. your boyfriend still hovers over you but sits up a bit to admire you with the same eyes he had when looking at you in your dress earlier that night.
"whether it's in an elegant gown or completely fucked out underneath me, you are always the most beautiful woman in the world to me. the only woman in the world to me."
you blush again at his words, the same way you always do. he flashes you his big signature smile and then all but leaps off the bed. you're not sure how he still has so much energy when you can hardly move.
"come on, love." seokmin leans over and effortlessly picks you up in his arms. "let's go get cleaned up."
"by 'getting cleaned up' you just mean round two shower sex, don't you?"
your boyfriend smiles mischievously, knowing full well you both already know the answer to that question. you just roll your eyes and laugh, resting your head on his chest as he carries you off towards the rest of what will certainly be a long night together.

"I'll be here for you, my love"
Tumblr media
Ford Pines x reader
You've been in the hospital for 5 years straight, your cancer developing and spreading. The tumor you had ignored had now developed and evolved, spreading to your organs, causing your stage 1 liver tumor to evolve into stage 4 metastasis.
Tumblr media
Just yesterday the doctor walked into your room quietly, it was unusual. She had some news to break to you. "I'm afraid you only have a couple more days left. I've told you this before but its any time now, i'm sorry." You smiled at her, noticing the tear falling down her cheek and frown mentally, keeping a fake strong facade. "It's not your fault. I'm glad you tried your.best and never gavs up on me." Your hand curls into a ball under the sheet, doing your best to sray strong. The doctor left soon after, leaving you alone in the room with only your thoughts, your brain wandered 'will i tell ford?' 'Will he be okay?' 'I hope he's going to be fine without me'
You stared mindlessly at the ceiling, thoughts and memories rolling around in your mind like a film for a movie, you curse at the solidarity of your life, eventually falling asleep. You felt pathetic, worthless even, knowing that your husband too busy to even worry about you.
(You eventually fall asleep and wake up the next day)
It was another dreary day at the hospital, the sight of white boring walls and minimalistic decor making you lose your sanity by the minute, not having anything to suppress the agonizing pain you felt in your body.
-ford's pov-
"It has been a while since I last visited them at the hospital"
He murmurs, to no one but himself.
You've been gone for so long, off he visited you time to time, but ultimately focusing on the portal more and more to distract himself from worrying about you too much.
As he was working on his portal, his phone suddenly rang, causing him to jump at the sudden sound, rolling his eyes as he pushes himself away from the table (yk those chairs w wheels he basically just rolled over to the phone LMAO).
He accepts the call, ruffling his hair in frustration.
"Ford Pines here, who is this?"
"Ah, sorry, I'm doctor may here, what is your relationship to (reader)?"
He hums, fidgeting with a machine part with his fingers
"I'm their fiancé, what's wrong?"
The doctor clears her throat on the other line,
"I'm sorry to tell you, their tumor has started to spread to numerous other organs, I fear they don't have much time left.."
Ford feels his stomach drop, his hand loosening.
".."
"I suggest you get them out of the hospital and just spend time together, I'm afraid there isn't much we can do now. It's best to spend time while they're still here"
"..I see, thank you doctor."
The call ended, he immediately drops his phone and covers his face with his hands, tears falling down. They really couldn't do anything now. He didn't know what to do.
That night he spent his time sobbing, thinking of ways to help you, looking for a cure, a remedy, anything to help you, he failed miserably.
After a couple hours of thinking it over and breaking down he decided to pick you up from the hospital and spend time together, if you couldn't be there for the entirety of his life, atleast he'd be there for yours.

--------------------------------
"Ladies and gentlemen, the King of Rock n Roll, Mr. Elvis Presley!"
They announce him as he enters the room for his press conference. He humbly rejects the nickname they've given him and makes his way to where he's supposed to be, looking impossibly attractive in his black suit and red scarf.
You're there with the press. This is your first real assignment for the magazine and you can't believe they actually said yes when you begged for it. But none of the guys in the office wanted to take the job, so here you sit with your press badge, waiting for the opportunity to ask your questions.
The press conference starts and he takes questions from everyone. Well, almost everyone. He seems to be intentionally ignoring you, skipping over you time and time again. At first you wonder if it's your magazine he's skipping, but no, you're not from one of the trashy gossip rags and he's answering their questions. It must be you. You look over yourself to see if there's anything about you that seems particularly offensive, but there's not. You're wearing a relatively harmless pencil skirt and button down shirt with reasonable heels. You don't have on pantyhose, yours had a run in them this morning, but there's no way he would notice that from the stage or be offended enough to ignore you.
He calls on the person right next to you again, avoiding your eyes. You're starting to get frustrated. If you can't get any of your questions answered you won't be able to write much. But still, he doesn't take your questions. Finally, as the time is almost up, he calls on you.
"Mr. Presley-"
"Elvis."
"Right, y/f/n y/l/n with-"
"Oh! Sorry. That's it folks, we have to wrap this up. Thank you for coming." The facilitator of the press conference cuts you off and you look at your watch. He's ten minutes over. No wonder they stopped you.
Still, you purse your lips in frustration, tears gathering in your eyes. You've failed your first assignment. You might never get another one. You're packing up your stuff and trying not to cry when you feel a presence. Looking up into his face, you freeze when you realize it's him. He smiles with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Honey, you didn't ask a single question, did you?" You think to yourself that it's not your fault he never called on you.
"No, I didn't."
"Well, I can't send you back to your boss empty-handed." He shakes his head and you raise your eyebrows.
"You can't?"
"Absolutely not. Let's find somewhere to talk." Your mouth pops open. He wants to give you a private interview. This is something you never expected, but you're not going to say no.
"O-okay." You stand up quickly, dropping your pen. He bends over and picks it up for you. When he hands it to you, your fingers touch and you damn near drop it again.
"C'mon." He puts his hand on the small of your back to lead you out of the room. You're ready to go with him wherever he takes you, but the elevator is about the last place you expect. As soon as the door is shut, he pushes the stop button and turns to you. "This is about the only place I can get any privacy. I can't get five minutes alone anywhere else. Now, ask your questions."
"Oh, um, Mr. Presley-"
"Elvis." He takes your hand in his rubbing small circles with his thumb. You watch him for a second and then look back at your notes to try to focus on a question.
"Can you tell me a little bit about..." He opens your hand and presses his lips to the center of your palm. "...about what..."
He kisses your wrist and then gently pulls you in closer to him.
"...what you plan to do next?" You finally get the question out, looking up into his face, which is now very close to yours, and he smiles at you.
"This." He leans in and kisses your neck.
"Mr. Presley..."
"Elvis." He whispers into your neck.
"Elvis... this seems-"
"You want me to stop?" He swirls his tongue in a circle just below your ear.
"God, no." Your mouth finds his and he dips his tongue in to dance against yours. You drop your notebook on the floor and he presses your back up against the wall of the elevator, rolling his hips into yours. He groans and you whimper as you put your arms around him and pull him into you even tighter. You tremble as he kisses you deeply and then works his way down your neck again to your cleavage.
"What's your name, honey?"
"My name?" You ask breathlessly as he presses his lips to your breasts.
"Yes. Your name."
"It's... y/n..." You're struggling to make words with how good it feels to have his mouth on you.
"Y/n..." He keeps kissing you in between words. "Can I... taste you?"
"Oh, god, yes, please." You feel him smile against your skin and then he gets on his knees, running his hands up under your skirt. He pushes it over your hips and moans softly when he sees your white cotton panties. Slipping his fingers under the waistband, he pulls them down and lets you step out of them. You notice that he tucks them into his pocket.
He makes his way back up to your center, sliding his middle finger into you and pressing his lips to you. With his other hand, he lifts your left leg up onto his shoulder and then steadies you by grabbing your ass. He pumps his finger in and out as he begins to move his tongue on your clit. You moan loudly and feel him smile again. He drags his tongue over and around your sensitive button, feeling it tighten as the blood rushes to your core. He sucks you lightly and then backs up, flicking you gently with the tip of his tongue.
"Mmmm, yes." You run your hand in his hair.
"You taste so good, baby. Cum for me." He dives in fully, licking you harder than he has so far. It has the intended effect, pushing you over the edge into the crashing waves of an intense orgasm. It starts in your center and pulsates out to your fingers and toes before you finally relax and come back down to earth. He stands up, wiping his face with his hand, and then unzips his pants. You watch as he pulls out his dick and strokes it a few times.
"You want this cock, baby?" You reach out and palm him, pumping him gently and kissing him again.
"I want anything you'll give me." He lets out a low growl and then turns you to face away from him. Holding your hip with one hand, he teases your entrance with his tip before pushing into you slowly. A soft moan escapes your lips as he fills you up, giving you time to stretch around him.
"God, you're so tight baby. It's so good." He picks up a steady rhythm of sliding in and out of you, slamming his hips into your ass and holding you steady with both hands. The relentless pounding is about to push you over the edge again as he drives into you. He fucks you with such intense passion that you could swear he was in love with you. Then, he reaches around and circles your clit with his finger and you cum hard on his dick.
"Oh, god, Elvis." You reach up over your shoulder where he's set his chin and grab his hair. He kisses your cheek and whispers.
"You like that, baby? You like it when I give it to you hard like that?"
"Yes, yes, mmmmmm!"
"That's my good girl. You take my cock so well." He grunts deep in his throat and you can tell he's getting close too as he fucks into you relentlessly. When he tenses and pulls out, you turn quickly and fall to your knees, taking him in your mouth and sucking hard.
"Oh, fucking shit!" He slams his hand on the elevator wall to steady himself as you swallow every drop of the cum he shoots into your throat. His legs shake and he drops his head back while you finish him off. You feel him relax and pull back. He looks down at you on the floor and tips your chin up with his finger to meet his eyes.
"You're incredible." You stand up and he kisses you again. Then, he looks at his watch. "Damnit, I have to go."
He helps you rearrange your skirt, but does not give your panties back, and puts himself away. You push the button to make the elevator go again while he gathers your notebook and other things from the floor. He runs his hand through his hair as the doors open back to the hallway outside the conference room. You walk off together, both of you thankful that the crowd has dispersed.
"Hey, listen. I'd like to give you that exclusive interview again sometime. How do I reach you?" You write your name and number on your notepad, tear off the page, and hand it to him. He folds it and tucks it carefully into the same pocket as your panties. "Thank you."
He looks back and forth down the hallway to make sure it's deserted. Then, he pulls you into a final kiss.
"I'll be in touch." The conference room door opens and he jumps back. It's one of his guys.
"There you are, boss. We thought we'd lost you." The man looks between the two of you and suppresses a grin. Elvis winks at you one last time and then walks back through the door with the man who found him.
"No, I was just doing an interview..."

Take A Chance: Rafe Cameron
Outer Banks Masterlist
word count: 800
description: tried of seeing your heart broken by losers, Rafe decides to take matters into his hands...will you accept?
Tumblr media
Another failed talking stage but yet you were so attached. You had been in your room rotting away for at least two days now only stepping out when no one was around to see you and how miserable you were over a talking stage.
You were currently laying in bed softly crying thinking how you were destined to be alone at this rate. So lost in your thoughts that you didn't hear your bedroom door open until you saw him kneeling in front of you with a frown on his face.
"He doesn't deserve your tears sunshine." He said gently wiping your tears.
"I know but it still hurts Rafe, every time I try to start a relationship with a guy it always fails...I just wish I was good enough." You said sadly.
"But you are good enough sunshine, someday you will find someone who show you how good enough you are." He said as you leaned into his touch.
Rafe's heart was breaking seeing you like this...seeing you so heartbroken over some loser that clearly didn't appreciate you.
"Rafe can you lay with me for a bit?" You asked him softly.
"Of course sunshine." He said softly kicking his shoes off.
He climbed into your bed next to you before beckoning to come crawl into his arms which you happily did. He laid there running a hand through your hair until he heard your breathing even out and then he pulled out his phone and started planning something special for you. Rafe had been in love with you for years but due to his issues he always kept them to himself never wanting to hurt you or involve you in his mess but now he had no choice.
"She's gonna love that, are you finally going to tell her?" Sarah asked standing by your door.
"You think so?  I want this to be perfect for her she deserves to know that there is someone out there that truly loves her." He said placing a kiss on your forehead making you snuggle into him.
"Yes Rafe she's gonna love it. I'm gonna go since you are here with her but let me know if you need anything." Sarah said.
A few days later you were feeling a bit better than you had been the last two weeks. You were currently getting ready for a surprise that Rafe said he had for you unsure what he was up to.
You had just finished putting on your shoes when you heard him knock on the door. You walked over to the door and opened it and there he was standing there looking so handsome as always, with a bouquet of sunflowers.
"Wow sunshine you look absolutely gorgeous." He said.
"Thank you Rafe, you look handsome as well." You said with a small smile.
"These are for you, I know how much you love sunflowers." He said handing them to you as your heart melted.
"You remembered?" You asked shocked as none of your past relationships did.
"Of course I did, I remember everything about you sunshine." He said with a smile.
You quickly put them in some water so they wouldn't die and met him by the door, where he lead you out to his truck and helped you into it. You guys made small talk as he drove to wherever he was taking you, and soon enough you guys were at the private beach that you guys liked to come to. He parked his truck and helped you out and that's when you saw a beautiful picnic setup by the beach making you look at Rafe.
"Rafe what is going on? What's all this?" You asked him.
"Sunshine bare with me...this is all new for me but I wanted to take you on a small date to show you that there is someone out there who cares for you and wants you and thinks the world of you." He said nervously.
"Why now Rafe?" You asked him.
"Because sunshine I thought I was protecting you by pushing you away but after seeing you hurt once again by some loser, I couldn't keep hiding from you any longer. So I know this is a big ask sunshine, but please take a chance on me and let me show you the kind of relationship you deserve." He said.
You were shocked by his confession let alone that he did all of this for you but deep down you had always had feelings for Rafe and that all these talking stages were attempts to get your mind off of him.
"Rafe I would like to give us a chance." You said with a smile.
Hearing you say that made a huge smile spread across Rafe's face as he wrapped his arms around you and placed a kiss on your lips.
