I think before looking for specific artists its a good idea to examine your own preconceptions about music itself. For example, electric guitars where considered noise back in the day, before everyone got used to the texture they added to the music.

As such its important to keep an open mind to sounds you otherwise would think of as "not music" before going in. The sound of someone scraping a cheese grater up to their microphone could be the electric guitar of an alternate timeline.

For me what really got me into noise music was the live experience. There's something about being put in front of this sort of music in a live setting that sort of puts me in a meditative-like state. It's really hard to describe how or why, but oddly enough I found my self relaxed and at one with the music when it was being performed in front of me. It also helps that sometimes people do wild things in these concerts, like destroying audio equipment or using things that are obviously not instruments as instruments, so it's also fun to watch when that happens!

Master Oogway - A Lot of Music About Everything - high-energy skronk from Norwegian quartet

During the last few years Master Oogway has worked extensively with their music in a live format. The quartet has invited different guest musicians, composed and improvised new music in several different aesthetics and directions. This way Master Oogway has evolved from being a jazz/rock band to an ever changing and creative phenomenon. The live format is where Master Oogway’s music comes most alive, and this is the spirit they brought into Athletic Sound studio during the recording sessions of A Lot of Music About Everything. The quartet wanted to preserve their live energy, while utilizing the tools provided in a studio environment. With the expertise of sound engineer Dag Erik Johansen, A Lot of Music About Everything has become Master Oogway’s most gnarly, loudest and dirtiest album so far!

RAVI SHARDJA fr "Maître Ravi Shardja est un être rare. Sa parole musicale cryptique, tripante et profonde est tout aussi bien inspirée par les expériences de Christoph Heemann période HNAS, Cabaret Voltaire première manière, le kraut le plus obscur que par les musiques carnatiques d'Inde du Sud. Il faut donc éprouver cette offrande pour ce qu'elle est : un pur délire mescalinien à faire passer Enter the void pour un téléfilm M6. "  Si c'est Félix Gatier, le honcho du label L'Eau des Fleurs, qui dit ça : il doit y avoir quelque chose ! 

Le dernier album de RS " Quatre soliloques " est sorti sur ledit label tout juste avant l'été.

" Le schéma est simple et déterminant : un dispositif électronique similaire pour un instrument joué à chacun des soliloques pour une musique directe et introspective, au gré de mes états psychiques. En l'occurrence, une lap steel guitar, une sanza électrique et une guitare basse. Trois instruments pour quatre soliloques, car ici il n'y a pas de logique numérique. La guitare basse parle seule deux fois sur la face S, et c'est ainsi. La parole est bannie. « Quatre soliloques » sans voix ni mots : le titre peut paraître paradoxal, j'en conviens. Toutefois, il aura fallu pas moins de quatre tentatives instrumentalisées pour essayer de traduire le fil de mes émotions et de mon intellect. "

ALEXIS PEREPELYCIA ar compositeur, improvisateur, artiste multimédia et chercheur- curateur.

Il va proposer une performance d'improvisation électroacoustique basée sur un dispositif qu'il a imaginé et fabriqué lui-même, comprenant un micro-ordinateur effectuant une série de processus compositionnelles à partir de l'environnement open source. Une série de processus sont traduits via un microcontrôleur à un ensemble d'actionneurs qui effectuent des actions sonores. Les actionneurs agissent à la fois comme des lecteurs sonores et des capteurs de sons.

" A live electroacoustic improvisation concert based on a system that employs a pair of hand-held devices conceived as a user interface that doubles as input and output transducer – a microphone and a speaker assembled together – and a controller unit that operates a computer through a micro-controller. We’ve conceived it as a compositional-performance model that aims to approach the sound phenomenon by staging the process of sound conception itself: a sound that defines itself autopoietically, a compositional experience materialized through sound that feedbacks itself. The system employs a microcomputer that performs a series of compositional-musical processes using an open-source programming environment. A series of processes are translated via a micro-controller to a set of actuators, which perform sonic actions. The actuators act as both sound players and sound capturers. Part of our work focuses on developing software for algorithmic composition. Additionally, different stages of sound synthesis and digital signal processing are employed: the devices not only amplifies the sound that the performer has at hand, but also has the capability to capture and process sound in various ways, achieving different transformations of sound material and compositional aspects. Our project proposes a convergence point of multiple disciplines, as it incorporates influences from diverse creative currents and philosophical approaches in its organization and programming. This hybrid and interdisciplinary nature is particularly relevant as our work involves music, technology, sound art, science, action art, performing arts, acoustics, and software design." Meryll Hardt (alias Eau de source) a fabriqué son propre proto-instrument de musique, lors d'une recherche-création dédiée à la voix et l’ensemble vocal artificiels. À la manière d’un thérémine polyphonique, il met en jeu un dispositif de hand tracking et Max msp. En direct et en différé, sans claviers et sans boutons, les sons de la voix, mais aussi d’autres sons  (de l’oscillateur à la bagarre de chats) sont manipulés dans l’éther, par les doigts de la main.
